Hey, I love your writing so much! If you’re taking requests I’d like a short fic about reader mourning the loss of their dog? I just lost my girl Sasha and would like a comfort fic , Eddie or Steve, either is cool with me- phantom
Hi, love 💚 I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, and I hope this fic helps you through the grieving process. I went with Eddie for this one.
TW: death, loss of a pet, grief CW: 690

It feels like it should be raining.
The sun hangs high in the sky, a gentle breeze blowing every so often. The weather gives no indication of any impending storm, not even a hint of gray in the white clouds. But to you, there’s a darkness that even the brightest light can’t repair.
There will be no more wagging tail and excited barking to greet you when you come home. The realization cleaves your heart clean in half.
Tears burn at your eyes and you let them fall, sliding down your cheeks and plopping unceremoniously onto the concrete stoop beneath you.
“Hey.”
You look up and see Eddie standing in front of you, a cellophane-wrapped bouquet of daisies in his grasp.
“Hi.”
The wrapping crinkles under his fingers as he sits beside you. He scoots close enough so you can rest your head on his shoulder. An ugly sob escapes you in a dramatic heave, but he refrains from commenting. In fact, he doesn’t say anything at all.
You bask in the comforting silence, no expectations to talk or bare your feelings. Eddie presses a kiss to your forehead and sighs.
“Can I say something?” He asks, and for the first time, you notice that he’s been crying, too. When you nod, he softly says, “She was a really good dog. The best, actually.”
“Mhm.” You don’t dare open your mouth for fear of starting up the waterworks again.
“I keep thinking about the time I brought over burgers from Benny’s,” he continues, “and I left them on the counter for two seconds, and she tore into them.”
You scoff lightly. “It was more than two seconds.”
“Okay, well, I didn’t time it or anything. But it was fast. Like, lightning speed.” He taps his toe, knee brushing against the flower stems. “These are for you, by the way.”
Taking the daisies from him, you hold them to your nose and inhale. Fresh, new, alive. The juxtaposition has your chin wobbling embarrassingly. “Th-Thanks, Eds.”
Another pause, then: “Y’know, I lost a pet once, too.”
You swivel around, eyebrows pinched together. “I didn’t know Wayne let you have a pet.”
“He didn’t. I had to keep it a secret.”
“How did you manage to keep a dog a secret?” It’s not as though he and his uncle lived in a mansion; the tiniest Chihuahua could be easily spotted in their trailer.
Eddie grins. “Who said anything about a dog?”
“A cat?”
He shook his head, giving the same response for your guesses of rabbit, lizard, and bird.
“Do I even wanna know?”
He presses a hand to his heart in feigned offense. “I can’t believe you don’t remember Ant-chovy.”
You burst out laughing despite the weighty grief bogging you down. “Are you seriously comparing the death of my dog to the death of an ant?”
“He was my friend!” Eddie retorts. “And he was murdered right before my very eyes!”
You knock your shoulder into his with a playful shove. “Weren’t you the one who stepped on him?”
He scowls and plucks the bouquet from your hands. “I bring you flowers in your time of need, and you mock me?”
A smile tugs at your lips. “My deepest apologies. And my condolences for the loss of your dear friend, Ant-chovy. Who certainly was not an ant and who you definitely knew for more than five minutes.”
“Thank you.” Eddie gives you back the daisies; this time, he leans his head on your shoulder. “You’re gonna get through this.”
“Feels like I’ll be sad forever.”
He nods. “I know. But you won’t be. And I’m not going anywhere until you tell me to fuck off.”
You take a deep breath. “Is it okay if we talk a little bit about her? Like, share memories of her? Just for a little bit?”
“Course it’s okay.” Eddie smiles, coaxing the emotions from you without even trying. “You wanna go first?”
You do. With each word, the sunshine doesn’t sting quite as harshly; the blue sky seems less out of place. And should the rain start to fall, you will always find shelter in Eddie.

The Magnus Archives (Season One) Production Design Project
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello everyone! Let me introduce myself- I'm Tilda (or Tilde), and I'm want to be a production designer.
Production designers create the overall look of a piece of media. From costumes, lighting, environments, props, etc., these designers make sure that everything looks cohesive and sets the mood.
So, I thought it would be fun to put my skills to the test by designing season one of The Magnus Archives. My winter break started as soon as I became interested in the show. Needless to say, a new obsession and an abundance of free time go well together.
You may have seen these illustrations posted separately, this is a master post of the whole project. My thoughts, processes, and critiques are all included under the cut. If you read them, I hope you enjoy! If, not, thank you for supporting my work regardless.
The Characters
When designing these characters, I tried to avoid being influenced by fan interpretations. Though, that was a challenge (especially with Jon and Sasha). I found that I looked to my friends for inspiration. Certain elements (Jon's glasses) were based off of what they wore.
Pinterest was also useful for finding clothing and pose references. Some looks were based off of different actors- in particular, Tim was inspired by Nicholas Galitzine and Elias inspired by Matthew Lillard.
Jane was the most fun to design! I believe in making terrifying characters actually terrifying.
Elias's design needs the most work. Having now finished the show, I see that it doesn't fit him. The purple is overly saturated, especially compared to the set. He looks out of place! I'd reverse the color palette to mostly green/yellow with purple accents instead. Although, I will forever defend the purple tint in his gray hair.
The Set
Jonathan's office was a treat to design! Balancing the color and clutter was especially important. This room is meant to be claustrophobic and uncomfortable, but not overbearingly so.
The wood looks to be full of splinters, but not so worn that it can be thrown out. The chairs offer no back support, and the shelves make the room smaller. The goal was to represented Jon's mind. Intricate, messy, and suffocating (Note: that is more of a season two description).
One goal was to capture the look of an actual archive. Valuable times was spent researching the different kinds of storage, files, paper, etc. The texture and color had to be accurate.
A split-complementary color palette of blue-green, yellow-green, and red was used. Of course, I had to get green in there, and the varying hues and desaturated reds worked well for the wood and filing supplies.
Jane's ashes and the Web lighter on the desk place this set at the end of season one. I find details like this to be important, it's one of my favorite parts of design. There is much needed abundance of eye imagery as well. Most obviously in the carpet, but eyes are carved into the table and watch from the shelves.
My main critique is the lighting- the filters used could be adjusted as to not distort the colors of the boxes. They look inconsistent. The Web lighter could also be more obvious, yet it is small and pixelated.
The Props
I designed these as I re-listened to season one, and it is the most recent piece I finished. Combining the details described in the show with what the objects would have realistically looked like was interesting. That was most useful for the clown, the Ming vase, and Ex Altiora.
Each of these objects came from a specific time with a specific look. Ex Altiora was bound in calf leather from the 1800s, so those books were referenced. Same with the frills on the clown's outfit.
The Ming vase was especially interesting, as it is from the Jiajing period. When looking at photographs of Jiajing vases, I found that many of them lacked handles and had an hourglass shape. That was fascinating to me, as many artists depict a standard oval-shaped vase. Also, the vase's design is described as straight lines that create distorted patterns when looking at it. That effect was achieved using chromatic aberration and the liquify tool (chromatic aberration was used to create a vertigo effect on Ex Altiora).
My critiques are... nitpicky. minimal. The shading on top of the garbage bag is unnatural. The thickness of the gold engraving on Ex Altiora is uneven. The "I" in "Immediate Consideration" is not capitalized. Other than that, I'm happy with how the props look.
Conclusion
First off, if you read everything, thank you!! It is a lot, I know.
My greatest takeaways are that 1) ask for critique, always 2) research skills are necessary for design 3) references are your friend! Seriously guys, use your references.
I hope you enjoyed this project and I'm excited to share more of my work in the future!

[ID: Two digital drawings of Tim Stoker and Sasha James on white backgrounds. The first image is of Tim, a mid-sized Latino man with light brown skin, graying brown hair in a mullet style, a small goatee and body hair, and he is wearing a partly unbuttoned purple striped button-down, a long aqua cardigan, black trousers and shoes, black plug gauges and rectangular glasses. He is standing neutrally and smiling calmly with his hands in his cardigan pockets. He is outlined in a soft blue.
The second image is of Sasha, a mid-sized Afro-Latina woman with light brown skin, freckles, and long curly black hair. She is wearing red lipstick and nail polish, a yellow shirt with an orange cardigan, a red skirt, bright green tights, a bright green choker and matching belt with an orange buckle, orange shoes, big round yellow earrings and matching beaded bracelets, and cat-eye glasses. Levi Ackerman x Reader

S4 part 3 spoilers & slight manga spoilers

“Please try to stay safe, I can’t lose you too.”
That was the last thing Levi said to you before the squad jumped out the plane, diving head first for Eren.
You needed to stop the rumbling, no matter what.
The fight was brutal and heartbreaking, having to fight Eren wasn’t easy for anyone.
As you flew through the air, weaving through bone, one of the titans trying to stop you had grabbed you from midair, stopping you in your tracks.
You let out a scream as you feel it crushing your ribs in it’s giant fist, causing the to look back at you. They all tried to get to you, tried to save you, but it was too late. Blood poured from your mouth and nose, your breathing stopped, and the titan let go of you, dropping you like trash.
Your body didn’t fall though, no. With impressive speed, a man covered in bandages and scars was quick to catch you.
Levi didn’t have any tears, not yet. Not until the fight was over, and he knew once and for all it wasn’t all for nothing.
Then, he would cry like he was that little boy in the underground again.
You woke up screaming.
Sweat soaked your sheets, tears stained your cheeks, and you woke up screaming and kicking. You flailed out of your bed, falling onto the floor with a thud, but you barely registered it because you couldn’t breathe.
Was that real? Was that a lucid dream? What was that?
Flash’s of green cloaks and gray eyes and blood, so much blood, keep playing in your mind’s eyes, making your panic worsen, that you didn’t notice someone come into your room.
Not until they tried to touch you.
The hand on your shoulder had you jerking, whipping around and reaching for a weapon that wasn’t there. What you were met with though had your hands shaking even worse than before.
“S-Sasha?”
“Y/N… do you remember? Do you remember everything from… then… now?” Sasha asked, looking at you tentatively, slowly kneeling down in front of you.
You remember her dying suddenly and you let out a sob, nodding at her, “What’s going on?”
“I’ll explain.”
“So, reincarnation?” You sigh, now sitting on the couch in the living room of your shared apartment with Sasha.
You both are in college and, after getting her memories, Sasha made a serious effort to befriend you. Now you both live together.
“Yeah, and it seems you unlock your memories after you die in the previous life.” Sasha said, sitting next to you eating a bowl of cereal despite it being two in the morning.
You let out another deep sigh and run your hands over your face, feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.
“It’ll get easier, I promise.” Sasha reassured, “and hey, we have each other.”
Turning to look at her you smile, nodding.
Yeah, at least you have each other.
Almost a year later and the nightmares have only just barely stopped. It has gotten easier, but the deep ache of missing him is what is so hard to move on from.
You miss Levi so much, and only having vague memories of him from a life you’d much rather forget, if painful.
One morning you walk into the coffee shop near your apartment building, a routine you’ve picked up from the lack of proper sleep recently. The bell chimes as you open the door and when you look towards the counter, you instantly stop.
Black hair styled in a familiar undercut.
The man’s back is to you, it could just be a coincidence. Undercuts are pretty popular right now so-
“Order for Mr. Ackerman?”
Your heart stops.
“Thank you.” An oh so familiar deep voice says, grabbing the cup from the barista with a polite nod. You couldn’t help but notice the string coming out of the cup, indicating it was tea.
It was him. It was Levi.
He was turning around, he was going to see you and-
“Excuse me.” Levi turned around and barely spared you a glance, just brushed past you and walked out of the shop.
You blinked, and blinked again, feeling your heart slowly shattering.
“Miss?” You heard the person at the counter say but you were already leaving, making a break for your apartment and hoping that Sasha was still there.
You felt tear’s building as you ran, not paying attention to your surroundings. You think you bumped into someone, hearing them yelling at you for spilling their drink, but you kept going.
Sasha was still there when you busted through the door, full panic attack. She immediately pulled you into her arms, asking what happened and telling you to breathe with her.
“It- it was him, I s-saw him!”
“Who? Who did you see?”
“L-Levi.” You finally sobbed, crying full force into her chest as she held you through it, now completely understanding.
You finally saw the man you loved from a lifetime ago, and he didn’t remember you.
