Hey! You can feel free to ignore this since it is a big ask but. As someone who dropped off the show by s8 and doesn’t really care about following the big plot points, can you recommend to me all the good Sam & Dean episodes that have happened since? (Not just angst or drama even, even just episodes with funny little moments or details?) I am like, solely here for these two being codependent and soulmates and not much else. <3 (Sidenote: thank you for your tagging system!)

Hi! Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply to this; as you yourself said this was a big ask, lots of episodes to go through and remember but hopefully you’re still interested in my answer.

Now the following are not every episode where there’s a brother moment for example the s8 premiere had a great brother hug where the boys reunite, episode 3 of that same season drew parallels between the boys and a couple, if I remember correctly, but those episodes are not included on the list because I didn’t just wanna recommend every single epi that had a brother scene just because it had a brother scene. I took into consideration if it had moments, what they were, enjoyability of the episode and if the moment or moments were big enough to make a bad episode worth recommending, I don’t wanna recommend something to you without thought and have you spend an hour of your life just to see and enjoy a flash in the pan moment you can enjoy just as much or more through gifs and clips.

In complete transparency I will also add that I did this mostly from memory so there is the chance that an episode with good moments slipped through the cracks and for that I apologize.

I don’t know at what point of s8 you stopped watching or if you stopped before the season so I am starting this with s8.

Season 8

Episode 4: Bitten. This epi doesn’t have a ton of moments or even a big one but it does have two students saying Sam and Dean give off workplace-romance vibes, and I’m a sucker for the boys being compared to or thought of as a couple.

Episode 10: Torn and Frayed. Not gonna lie, not the biggest fan of this episode, but it does have the brothers choosing each other over Benny and Amelia so….

Episode 11: LARP and the Real Girl. I said it before in another post that to me this is the turning point of the season for the better, and it has the boys having fun.

Episode 12: As Time Goes By. I wouldn’t call this one a Sam and Dean episode as in SamandDean packed with brother moments but we and the boys get to learn more about their legacy as Winchesters so if that’s something you’re interested in...

Episode 14: Trial and Error. This one has emotional brother moments with Dean wanting Sam to be safe and have a normal life and Sam asking Dean to believe in him, and praising him.

Episode 17: Goodbye Stranger. To be honest, I don’t remember if this epi has other brother moments but I am solely recommending it because this is the one where Dean learns the trials are making Sam sick and at the end there’s a scene where he tells Sam to let him help carry the burden.

Episode 19: Taxi driver. Great epi filled with protective!Dean, he kills Benny to save Sam, a beautiful brother hug.

Episode 20: Pac man fever. They argue like a married couple and Dean’s fear is shown to be losing Sam.

Episode 21: The Great Escapist. Pretty much the whole episode has little moments of Dean taking care of Sam.

Episode 23: Sacrifice. “Don’t you dare think that there is anything past or present that I would put in front of you!” This is the ‘if you watch nothing else from this season’ episode to watch. If you watch nothing else from the s8 sections of recommendations, watch this one, it has one of the best, most emotional Sam and Dean moments in the show’s history.

Season 9

Episode 1: I think I’m Gonna Like It Here. “I made you a promise in that church. You and me, come whatever.” “There ain’t no me if there ain’t no you.” I live for the codependency and for these two going to extremes to save the other including tricking into letting an angel possess the other’s body, and I refuse to apologize for it.

Episode 5: Dog Dean Afternoon. Okay, I’ll admit this one definitely falls more under the fun episode type but it does have Dean being all worried about Sam, clutching to him and threatening to lick his face if he doesn’t wake up.

Episode 7: Bad Boys. We learn more about young!Dean and see him choosing Sam over having a normal life.

Episode 15: #THINMAN. This one is an angsty one and not just because it’s the last time we see the Ghostfacers, this takes place after everything goes to shit in the boys relationship with Sam finding out about Dean’s betrayal and it contains parallels to what Ed and Harry are going through in their relationship, a protective worried Sam over Dean possibly being killed (which let me tell you is delicious to witness after all the angst and Sam acting like he doesn’t care about Dean anymore), and a bittersweet moment of the boys reminiscing about their past.

Episode 16: Blade Runners. This one is being recommended because it has some protective!Dean and because Sam being Dean’s Colette bringing him out of his MOC induced rage.

Episode 23: Do You Believe in Miracles?. The “I’m proud of us” moment, need I say more.

Season 10

Episode 1: Black.

Episode 2: Reinbach.

Episode 3: Soul Survivor. These three episodes are all being recommended for the exact same reason they have demon!Dean, and Sam going crazy trying to save him/find him. Plus, Soul Survivor has demon!Dean following Sam around the bunker.

Episode 4: Paper Moon. It has a flashback showing us just how far Sam was willing to go to get Dean back plus some emotional conversations between the boys.

Episode 5: Fan Fiction. I know people who like this episode. I know people who hate this episode. Personally, I think it has its good parts, it has some brother moments and some nods to wincest.

Episode 12: About A Boy. This one also falls more into the category of fun episode with Dean being turned into a teen, but it also has some good brother moments.

Episode 14: The Executioner’s Song. The fight scene between Dean and Cain was amazing and it has Dean collapsing into Sam’s arms.

Episode 18: Book of the Damned. Love this episode, this epi is probs the best example as to what I enjoyed the most about s10; usually we see Dean being codependent and going to extremes to save Sam but during this season we see the opposite and this episode really highlights that with Sam telling Dean he can’t lose him, telling Charlie he understands hunting is his life but he can’t do it without his brother, going behind Dean’s back and seeking help from Rowena to try and save him.

Episode 19: The Werther Project. More Sam being desperate to save Dean, protective!Dean, and Dean saying he and Sam are stronger together than apart.

Episode 23: Brother’s Keeper. Sam and Dean literally choose each other over the world and Dean kills Death over Sam.

Season 11

Episode 4: Baby. One of the best episodes, just our boys, the open road and all told from Baby’s POV. A must watch in my book.

Episode 8: Just My Imagination. The last flashback episode we ever got - *hits 15.16 with a shovel* like I said last flashback episode we got; it’s fun, has good Sam and Dean moments, we learn more young!Sam, Sam gets some love and praise, the boys wore cozy sweaters, good epi.

Episode 10: The Devil in the Details. It has protective!Dean and Lucifer point out to Sam that he and Dean have chosen each other time and time again because they can’t stand to lose one another. What can I say, I like when the codependency is brought up.

Episode 11: Into the Mystic. Here’s the thing with this episode, I have become sort of embittered towards it due this being the introduction of a character with whom there is an attempted romance in s15 which I heavily dislike but I can’t deny that before that I really did like it, it has some good brother moments and it has Dean telling Sam he forgave him for not looking for him in Purgatory which is major.

Episode 15: Beyond the Mat. Another epi on the fun list, mostly being recommended because it has the boys having fun and that’s something we rarely get to see.

Episode 16: Safe House. Protective!Worried about Dean!Sam!

Episode 17: Red Meat. What can I say about this iconic episode? It's one of the best episodes in the series, absolutely soul crushing, codependency times 1,000. Have tissues with you when you watch it because you will sob your heart out. They turned Sam and Dean into Romeo and Juliet but better.

Episode 20: Don’t Call Me Shurley. Regardless of what a certain showrunner ended up doing to the character I do still love this episode and it has some great Sam and Dean content with Dean preferring to possibly die with Sam, telling him he’d never leave him and the return of the Samulet.

Episode 23: Alpha and Omega. Emotional brother hug, Dean saying he and Sam need each other.

Season 12

Episode 5: The One You’ve Been Waiting For. I’m gonna be honest, I don’t remember much of this episode other than I enjoyed it and that it had some fun moments between the boys.

Episode 9: First Blood. I’m truly only recommending this because it had, Badass!Winchesters.

Episode 10: Lilly Sunder Has Some Regrets. Funny thing about this episode was it was supposed to be all about C but it ended up being enjoyable and filled with little Sam and Dean moments including some protective!Sam.

Episode 11: Regarding Dean. Jensen’s acting in this episode is next level, and it is filled with little brother moments.

Episode 18: The Memory Remains. The only reason I am recommending this one is because it’s the one where the boys carve their initials on the table which was a major moment.

Season 13

Episode 8: The Scorpion and the Frog. Another fun episode that’s filled with little Sam and Dean moments.

Episode 11: Breakdown. For so long I talked about Dean being Sam’s knight in shining armor it’d be wrong for me to not bring up the episode where it happened. Also, Dean tells Sam he’s there for him.

Episode 12: Various and Sundry Villains. It had some fun brother moments.

Season 14

Episode 4: Mint Condition. Fun Hallooween episode with fun, little moments. Absolutely loved this one.

Episode 11: Damaged Goods. This isn’t really a Sam and Dean episode, or at least I don’t consider it one but the ending scene between the brothers where Dean tells Sam he’s the only one that could have changed his mind about throwing himself into the box was beautiful.

Episode 12: Prophet and the Loss. The brother hug to end all brother hugs. Absolutely amazing episode, packed with brother moments including what’s probably the best brother hug, will sing its praises till I die and then I’ll continue singing them in the afterlife.

Episode 13: Lebanon. The 300th episode. It has some moments between the boys as well as some touching scenes of the boys with their dad.

Season 15

Episode 4: Atomic Monsters. Is this partially on the recommended pile because Jensen directed it? Yes but nonetheless it’s a pretty good epi that while not super packed with brother moments does have them. (Also, this is the last season and I’m sad to report we are scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to find Sam and Dean content in this dessert.)

Episode 11: The Gamblers. Good brother moments and the boys get called heroes which I love.

Episode 13: Destiny’s Child. The sole reason I am recommending this episode is for AU!Sam and Dean, they are the funnest thing this show has done in a while.

Episode 14: Last Holiday. While this doesn’t really have Sam and Dean moments with the exception of Sam telling Dean he should have called him to let him know he was in trouble, it does have the boys being taken care of and getting to have some fun and that’s something we so rarely get to see that I am including it.

Like I said, this is not a definitive list of every single episode that has Sam and Dean moments there’s episodes like the most recent one, 15.17, that had a beautiful moment between the brothers but I didn’t list the epi here cause I don’t think it’s necessary to watch the whole episode for it when it can be seen and enjoyed just as much by watching it through a clip. Which while I don’t recommend the whole ep I do highly recommend looking up the end and seeing the brother moment; point is, similar to 8.01 or 15.17 there were other episodes that had moments that weren’t included due to seeing the whole epi not being necessary to enjoy the moment.

Man in the Storm 4

Summary: It’s rut season at the compound. Omega Reader plans to ride it out alone, locked in her room away from any unwanted Alphas. But she finds that to be a lot easier said than done when the team’s strongest Alpha pays a visit.

Pairings: Alpha!Thor x Omega!Reader

Type: Series (A/B/O Dynamics)

Warnings: exes fighting, aggressive behaviour that gets slightly physical, mention of arousal. Bucky stans might be mad at me after this.

After training day had finished you B-lined it straight to your room and stayed there for the whole night. The next day you told Wanda you weren’t feeling well and bought yourself another day of solitude. You weren’t lying. Not technically anyway. You weren’t feeling all that well. The fluttering in your stomach and your racing mind had been exhausting. You tried everything to make yourself feel better. From taking a nice long bath with epsom salts and watching your favourite movies to drinking sleepy tea and napping all day.

This was one of the most annoying things about being an Omega. Sometimes you simply had no control over your body and it could betray you at any moment. Everything could be thrown off course in a matter of seconds. All it took was an Alpha that had all the goods and you’d basically have to hand yourself over to your second nature.

This hadn’t been a problem for you for so long.

Until he arrived.

It wasn’t just the physical attraction that your body was responding to, either. He had ignited a curiosity in you. You enjoyed his company and wanted to listen to more of his stories from Asgard. To here is deep, rumbling voice. To train with him again, to ask him more about himself. You wanted him close to you and feel his touch on your skin.

Only you were too stubborn to actually go to him.

You just met him, after all. Yet somehow his presence had you laying in bed, wrapped in a blanket watching Netflix with what felt like 2 million butterflies in your stomach. You felt in this subtle sense of arousal all day and though you tried to ignore it, you had to give in and relieve yourself a few times. His smell stayed with you and any time he walked past your door to his room it got stronger. You could tell where he was on the residential floor at all times.

It was like you were connected.

You weren’t going through your heat yet, but you knew it wasn’t too far around the corner. Some of the team had already been set off and the smell of the compound was growing ever thicker. You realized that you had run upstairs so fast the night before that you had forgotten to stop by Banner’s lab to get some more pills and the one you took yesterday had warn off.

Wanda came to check up on you sometime in the afternoon. She joined you under the covers and you watched some tv together until she finally addressed the elephant in the room.

“I can feel the tension coming off you from across the property, (y/n). Are you feeling ok?” You sat up and rested your back against the headboard, releasing a deep sigh, “I’m exhausted. I thought I could handle this season alone, but it hasn’t even really started and I’m already a mess.”

Wanda nodded, “Are you sure it’s the rut? And not a particular Alpha that you’ve been spending time with?” She smiled knowingly.

You cocked an eyebrow and laughed, “Did Wilson talk to you?” she nodded yes. You shook your head in disbelief, “He’s such a gossip!” You both giggled at your true words. She sat up next to you, “Look, we don’t have to talk about it. I just hate to feel you suffering. I know you wanted to go this season alone so if you ever need help, I’m here.” She reached into her pocket and pulled something out.

“Banner and Tony have left for their conference, they won’t be back for a few days but I found a bottle from before Vis and I were together and there was one pill left. Take it.” She placed a pill in your hand and smiled. You hugged her, thankful to have her looking out for you. “Thank you Wanda, you’re a lifesaver.”

“Do you want me to help you get some sleep?” She asked, wiggling her fingers around and producing a small amount of red smoke. You shook your head no, “I think this will give me all the help I need.”

She gave you a quick kiss on the forehead before heading out of the room and closing the door.

Once you were feeling more of yourself again, you made certain that everyone had gone to bed and snuck out of your room. Heading to the private kitchen that Tony had installed on The Avenger’s floor (for those days when he really didn’t want to eat with the pack).

When you turned the corner you noticed a dim light was already on and you found Bucky sitting at the kitchen island eating some cereal.

You were surprised you didn’t recognize his scent but then realized it was well mixed with Melissa’s by now. You smiled hello at him and grabbed yourself a bowl and sat across from him.

“Can’t sleep?” You asked.

Bucky answered by shaking his head, “I didn’t want to wake her.”

You nodded and continued eating the cereal in your bowl. But you stopped when you felt eyes still on you. You looked up to see a confused look on his face.

“What?” You asked him. Slightly annoyed that he was staring at you.

“You smell different.” He said with slight hostility. “Do I? I took the pill earlier, maybe that’s why.” You offered. But Bucky shook his head, finally breaking his gaze.

“Nope, that’s not it.”

“Oh.” you said. You went back to your cereal, suddenly feeling uncomfortable. Bucky continued after a long awkward silence, “You shouldn’t take that shit anyway, Omega. It’s not good for you.”

You put your spoon down and took deep inhale. You were tired, frustrated and full of pent up tension and you did not want to be lectured now. “What does it matter to you anyway Barnes?” You challenged him. Trying to make it clear that now was none of his business.

Bucky’s face turns dark at your sudden attitude. “Just trying to help you out Omega.” He rolled his eyes.

You clenched your jaw at the thought of him helping you out. Just like how he’s been helping you out ever since he dumped you. You then remembered your earlier conversation with Nat about how Bucky just likes to hold on to things that were once his.

And it hit a nerve.

“Oh wow Buck. Thanks! What would I ever do without my Alpha to tell me what to do? Oh wait. You’re not my Alpha!” You see his eyes grow dark and his nostrils flare as he clenched his jaw. He was not one to be spoken to like this, especially by an Omega.

“Watch your mouth, Omega.”

But there was no stopping you now. “In fact Barnes, I’m pretty sure you were never my Alpha. You made that pretty clear when you started fucking your precious Melissa without even telling me you were done with whatever it was that we had. So stop it! Just let me move on with my life and stop trying to “help me out” all the time!”

With that Bucky got up from his chair and marched over to you, getting right in your face and pushing your back into the granite counter. “Move on? Move on to who exactly? Is that what I smell on you?” He growled. His flesh hand had a hold of your wrist and you tried not to wince from his squeeze.

You steeled your resolve and stood up straight. Not backing down to his attempt at intimidation.

”Don’t be like this Bucky. It’s not you. Just go to your Omega. It’s for the best.” He paused for a moment, then gave up the fight and stormed out of the room. You looked down to see pieces of the granite countertop had chipped away under his metal hand.

You took a deep breath and pushed your cereal to the side. The adrenaline pumping through your veins was ruining your appetite. At first you were bothered by the ridiculous interaction with your ex just moments before. But you also felt strangely empowered by it. You had never stood up to an Alpha like that before and you were wondering what had come over you.

But you were reminded of the answer as you walked back down the hallway to return to your room. You stopped in front of your door as you picked up the scent that had been taunting you for the last 2 days.

You looked down the hall to where his room was located. He was so close.

You let go of your door knob and made a few steps further down the hall towards Thor’s bedroom. But stopped yourself again.

You tugged at your bottom lip with your teeth and debated back and forth over the idea. Eventually deciding to turn back.

When you got inside you closed your door behind you and fell face first onto your mattress.

Thor was standing next to the back of his door as he heard you return to your room. He had sensed your argument with Bucky. Not on purpose, but his heightened senses made it hard to ignore the energy coming off of both of you.

It took all his power not to intervene and toss Sergeant Barnes across the room. It wouldn’t have been hard, but you had seemed to have it covered.

He was moments away from opening the door and inviting you in when he smelt you coming closer to his room. But as intoxicating as you were, (and as much as you had drove him crazy by holding up in your room all day) he could sense your hesitation.

He walked over to his bed and stretched out over the sheets, bringing his right arm up to rest under his head and smiled to himself before closing his eyes.

A/N: I defend my decision to give Thor the eyepatch and short hair. I think he looks incredibly rugged with both.

It was the strangest thing you’d ever seen. Tony was scrambling to set up Thor’s living quarters, Bucky had taken his little Omega out of the room and Steve was being uncharacteristically possessive of Sharon.

You had never met Thor before. You had only been with the pack for 2 years and he hadn’t returned to Earth in about 3. All you knew about him was that he was once a major part of The Avengers, until he had to go back home to focus on ruling Asgard.

“I’ve never seen Tony like this in my entire life.” You remarked, watching as he waited by the elevator door. Natasha nodded her head, “Thor has a pretty interesting affect on the pack…”

Nat explained to you that Thor was a special kind of Alpha, he wasn’t mortal like they were. It came from his royal Asgardian ancestry and the fact that he was, you know, a god. He was the strongest and most powerful Alpha she had ever met. So whenever he came to town he became the undisputed leader of the pack. Usually sending Tony into a frenzy.

“But you know, he treats everyone here as an equal most of the time and always prefers that we lead the pack as a team.”

You considered it all for a moment, watching your Alphas shift and huff about.

“But what’s up with Bucky and Steve?”

“They’re just being typical, possessive Alphas.” She shook her head laughing at their displays of dominance. “They’re not used to having some competition.”

You gave her a smirk, finally understanding why this was so amusing for Natasha to watch.

The elevator chimed and Tony greeted Thor as he stepped out with a firm handshake. But Thor quickly pulled him in for a big bear hug and a thunderous laugh. “Oh Tony, it is good to see you!” He continued, greeting the rest of your teammates in the same manner. He congratulated Sharon and Steve on their bonding. And remarked on how he’d missed everyone, which immediately loosened the tension in the room.

The God of Thunder looked different than the pictures you’d seen. His hair was shorter and his arms were littered with small scars. And to the surprise of the whole team, he was wearing an eyepatch over his right eye.

If there was ever perfect image of a strong, battle hardened Alpha, he was it.

As he made his way through the team he stopped in front of you. His gaze immediately set your Omega instincts off and you lowered your eyes to the floor. He stepped closer to you, engulfing your senses with the warm smell of cedar-wood and oranges.

“You have an unfamiliar face my lady.” Thor looked at your submissive stance and smiled. “What is your name, Omega?”

“Uhh” you mumbled, desperately trying not melt into the floor as he stepped closer. “My name is (y/n).” Thor took your hand and brought it to his lips. Kissing it gently. “It’s wonderful to meet you (y/n). I’m Thor of Asgard.”

A nearly undetectable whimper passed through your lips as his touch sent a slight cramp through your lower abdomen. His scent was almost too strong to bear and you felt your body warming eagerly to his presence.

You prayed that he didn’t notice and smiled back, clearing your throat.

Natasha did notice, however and offered to update the Alpha on the comings and goings of the pack. She took him over to the railing where they could look over the crowd.

Your head felt foggy and you could feel slick beginning to pool at your core. Steve gave you a funny look and you went red with embarrassment. You decided you needed to cool off before you could go to training.

“Um..I’ll meet you guys down at the field, ok?” You said quickly before taking the elevator up to your bedroom.

You slammed your door shut and took a moment to collect your breath. It had been a long time since another Alpha had that kind of affect on you and you weren’t ready for it. You could smell yourself and cursed your omega genes as you marched into the bathroom for a cold shower.

The water was an instant relief. It cooled your skin down to a stable temperature and you felt the wave of arousal wash away. You scrubbed your scent gland and washed the slick off your thighs.

When you finished showering you changed your clothes completely and sprayed some perfume on your neck.

But despite all your efforts you still found his intoxicating smell lingering in your nostrils. You groaned in frustration and sifted through the top drawer of your bedside table. You found the little bottle you were looking for and took the last pill from it. It was like Tylenol, but for heats rather than headaches. Only dulling the sensation to make it more bearable so you don’t get thrown into an unexpected heat.

As you left your room to meet the team on the course you made a mental note to stop by Banner’s lab at the end of the day to get a refill. Evidently, you were going to need it.

Thor was standing next to Natasha, arms folded across his chest as he scanned the room below. She had given him a brief update on the pack. Bonded couples, new recruits and a rundown on the operations they had been carrying out over the last few years.

“Cap’s making everyone run his new course out back today, weather permitting.” She joked “There will be sessions all day of varying difficulty. It would be good for you to come and see how they’re all doing.” She suggested.

Thor nodded his head in agreement. But his focus drifted a toward another topic that had peaked his interest.

“What about our newest member? The Omega?”

Nat raised an auburn eyebrow towards him. “What about her, boss?”

“How did she come to join the team?” He asked again, still looking down at the crowd below.

Natasha allowed a knowing smile to cross her face. “Well…(y/n) joined the team about 2 years ago as a technical agent. But we quickly discovered that she was good in the field.
