How I feel about this character: 

So many things man! I think Shadow has sort of started to represent my healing from depression in a weird way??? Mainly because the only way I can like him this much is if I stop giving a shit and embrace cringe. I literally don't think I've been this happy since I was obsessed with him when I was a kid. He's cool and I don't care what anyone thinks.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: 

I only really romantically ship him with Amy. There are some ships that I understand why people ship it (like sonadow and shadrouge) but I prefer those relationship just be platonic, so I'm just indifferent to them.

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

Obviously his relationship with Maria is the most important bond he's ever had. I love seeing people's depictions of them being siblings on the ARK.

My unpopular opinion about this character: 

While I understand why people get annoyed that it seems Shadow's entire motivations seem to focus on Maria's tragic murder, I kind of get annoyed when people say "He should of moved on by now!" That's not how grief works! You don't just "get over" a loved one dying, especially in such a traumatic way, but you can build your life up around it. I don't think he thinks about Maria 24/7 anymore, but I think now that time has passed and he's made new bonds, I like to think that he remembers the fond memories much more than her tragic passing these days. He'll never forget her though, and that includes the traumatic event.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

Why the fuck doesn't he talk to Amy more? Why does he not talk to the girl that snapped him out of his revenge filled brainwashed delusions, HUH SEGA?! YOU CAN'T USE AMNESIA AS A EXCUSE ANYMORE, WE KNOW HE HAS HIS MEMORIES BACK! YOU TELLING ME SHADOW FORGETS HIS PROMISES?! THAT HE HASN'T AT LEAST THANKED HER FOR THAT?! Look, I know some will think this is ship bias (and maybe it is) but they don't have to be a fucking couple okay! I just want them to have SOME sort of relationship after what Amy's done for him.

a headcanon fact:

The reason Shadow joined GUN was to make sure they never do what they did on the ARK ever again. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer as they say. Speaking of friends, I'm sure there a bit of concern that GUN would go after his new ones if he didn't comply with them. After all, the whole reason the ARK indecent happened was because they wanted him as a weapon. So he lets them believe they now have that weapon at their command. Of course Rouge and Omega also know this and are aiding him on keeping a close eye on GUN's activities, so if they plan another massacre, then they'll stop it from the inside out.
