♤ KAEYA

there was a knock on the doorframe to your room — two short knocks that woke you from your half-conscious daze. your head jerked up as you looked back to the source of the sound and a relieved smile formed on your lips as you got up from your chair. his warm eyes returned your smile as he held his arms out for you, wrapping them tightly around your waist. “bad day?” he murmured into your hair, gliding his hand up and down soothingly on the small of your back.

you nodded, fitting your chin into the crook of his neck. “it’s definitely been a long day,” you sighed, “but you always manage to show up at the right times.”

kaeya chuckled, “guess it’s just a new hidden power of mine.” his hold on you loosened as he stepped back. he took your hand and guided you to the side of your bed, where he sat and he motioned for you to do the same. “let’s take a break,” he told you. when you rested your cheek on the curve of his shoulder did his fingers find its spot in your hair, smoothing it absentmindedly. a few minutes of a comfortable silence passed, the steady rise and fall of his chest calming you and the faint smell of grapes tickling your nose. “darling?”

“hm?”

"what were you working on?" he glanced at the papers on your desk. it looked like an essay. he shuddered.

"oh," you said with a grimace, "homework."

his fingers continued to twirl the ends of your hair, "sounds painful."

"oh, most definitely," you laughed, turning your face into his chest, "save me from it please."

kaeya joined your laughter, his hand sliding down your back to hug your waist. "your wish is always my command."

you hummed happily, completely relaxed as you leaned against him. your eyes drifted shut and sleep was only a few reaches away.

“i’m so proud of you… and thank you.”

you sat up, looking at him confused. but he just smiled, leaning in to press a kiss to your forehead. “you’re so amazing,” he continued, “you work hard at everything you do and you do your best no matter what. when i look at you, you have this… glow to you and it makes me feel like the luckiest man in the world to have you.”

“kaeya…”

it was impossible to not notice the sparkle in his eyes as he spoke to you. you couldn’t ignore how animated he got when it came to showering you with love and praise — maybe that was what made him so… kaeya. he took your hands in his, bringing your knuckles to his lips.

“kaeya, wha-” you couldn’t deny the tears that began to well up in your eyes.

“and thank you,” he said, “for everything that you do. for you, for me, and for our future.” he paused, hesitating, "and thank you for being mine."

♤ DILUC

your leg was bouncing rapidly under the countertop. your laptop sat in front of you while your textbooks and journals were strewn all over the place, and diluc was getting stressed himself just looking at the sight. he moved to sit beside you and placed his hand on your thigh. “my love,” he whispered softly, “take a break.” it was a gentle command but you complied immediately. you closed your laptop, textbooks, and journals, turning to look at him. his eyebrows were knit with concern as he looked at you, but his gaze was soft nonetheless. you could feel the tension roll off your shoulders.

“make me a sparkling grape juice please?”

“of course,” he smiled. as he got up to walk to the other side of the counter, you lifted your arms above your head, stretching and yawning as you tried to squeeze out the remaining bits of exhaustion that buried itself into your body before you had to eventually return yourself to the two-headed beast called homework and studying. but for now you were content watching as your boyfriend quickly and meticulously made your grape juice. the satisfying pop and fizz of the drink being poured into your favorite glass, the cheeky dramatic opening of the small drink umbrellas, all with dropping a couple grapes in before setting it in front of you. “on the house.”

“thank you~” you sang as you took a sip, “it tastes so good! you’re the best.”

diluc nodded, a soft smile curving his lips, and picked up a nearby cup, wiping it clean. he watched you out of the corner of his eye. he watched as you set the drink down to the side and begin opening your laptop, books, and journals again. he watched as you rested your chin on the palm of your hand as you began scrolling through the homework module, eyes squinting as you tried to read those dreaded words for the million-and-oneth time.

“sweetheart.”

his voice caught your attention without even trying. you looked up at him, curious to know why he called you. you watched as he leaned over the counter, lifting a hand to caress the top of your head. “you’re so perfect for me, did you know that?”

you blinked.

“i will turn this into a ‘no you’re more perfect’ war. do not play with me, master diluc.”

his lips tugged at the name, “oho~? you know i always win these.”

“well maybe this time will be different,” you shot back, sticking your tongue out.

“i wonder how many times i’ve heard that before.”

“oh hush,” you pretended to scowl. you picked up your pencil again, preparing to return to your homework, when diluc’s fingers tilted your chin up towards him. he leaned in, his lips pressing softly against yours and pulling away only briefly before giving you another peck.

“i love you.”

♤ ZHONGLI

your head was pounding — whether it was from the overwhelming stress that you were feeling or from staring at Times New Roman 10 point font for too long you weren’t entirely sure yourself — but you must’ve looked extra irritable today because without a word zhongli set a hot cup of tea beside you and sat down on the sofa next to you, opening a book and beginning to read. when you looked up at him, his eyes were slowly traveling across the page but his gaze soon met yours and he smiled. returning his smile, you leaned over to press a kiss to his cheek. “thank you,” you whispered.

taking a careful sip of the tea, you kept the cup close to you, breathing in the subtle sweet fragrance. you felt more refreshed, the hammering in your head subsiding and being filled with the warmth of your boyfriend’s love. you immersed yourself in your studies again when you felt zhongli’s finger graze over your leg. it was a casual touch, you knew, but it still set your skin ablaze. zhongli, however, must’ve felt you tense because he pulled his hand back, “ah, i’m sorry. i didn’t mean to disturb you.”

“no,” you said, reaching for his hand and putting it back on your leg, “i liked it.”

zhongli’s eyebrows were raised, a teasing smile pulling at the corner of his mouth. “i wouldn’t want to distract you from your studying.”

you laughed, “or i could take a break. i needed one anyway.” pushing your books away from you, you turned to look at him, and in response zhongli closed his and set it on the table.

he held out his arm, allowing you to get closer and rest your head on his chest. when your head fit into its familiar place did he wrap his arm around you, keeping you close, while his other hand traveled up your arm and into your hair, massaging gently.

“are you okay?” zhongli asked, kissing your temple.

you nodded, “mhm, just have some homework to catch up on.”

“ah, i see.”

zhongli then began to hum a soft melody and you could feel it reverberate in his chest. allowing your eyelids to flutter shut, your breathing started to steady. zhongli’s fingers were still smoothing your hair and soon enough you fell asleep on his chest. zhongli glanced down at you and couldn’t help but smile. still keeping his hand on you, he reached over to grab his book and continued to read.

you awoke an hour later, feeling rejuvenated from your nap, and looked up to see that zhongli had also fallen asleep. the book had slipped from his fingers and fallen onto the floor. carefully, you moved out of his hold, when a confused noise left zhongli’s lips. his body was looking for you even as he slept. “i’ll be right back,” you whispered to him, laughing softly from how cute he looked, as you quickly tiptoed to get some pillows and a blanket. returning with the pillows and blanket, you sat back down at zhongli’s side, easing a pillow under his head and wrapping him in the blanket. you looked up, checking the time. it was a little past 8 pm. with a sigh you opened your books again, but the smile still lingered as the sleeping zhongli shuffled closer to you.

you would wake him up later. for now, this was bliss.

koi's notes: I REALIZE THAT KAEYA CANONICALLY ONLY SHOWS ONE EYE but you're his like significant other, he shows you both of his eyes obviously -- but also can you imagine the strain of only using one eye- and also like i imagine it has gone blind from it being covered for so long- YOU KNOW WHAT- don't sweat the details, just pretend you didn't even notice any mistakes and it all just made sense please ;-; but guys be honest: how obvious is it that i really love acts of service, physical touch, and words of affirmation alsdfkasdffk (with the implied/obvious quality time)

college au!genshin men and women ... when they catch you sleeping !

a/n: cheated with this one ngl LOL

a gentle kiss pressed to your temple and a warm blanket draped over your shoulders as you softly snored away at your desk. they chuckle lightly at the dribble of drool peeking from the corner of your mouth, yet their eyes are still tender and filled with love. carefully and quietly, they close your books and journals, returning them to the spots they knew you liked to keep them. they save any files still open and charge your nearly dead laptop, a pleasant surprise in the morning for you when you wake up. finally satisfied that they've completed everything of significance, they wrap the blanket around you and carry you to your bed, tucking you in. they leave, returning with a water bottle to place within your reach, before climbing in bed next to you, lazily placing an arm around your waist.

they notice you dozing off—head snapping to attention before falling to the side again as you nod off—and hide their laugh behind their hand. after looking to both sides of them, they sneak a peck to your cheek before gently guiding your head down, using your textbooks as a makeshift pillow. taking off their jacket, they cover you with it, pulling the hood over your head so that you wouldn’t wake up blinded from the bright fluorescent overhead lights. returning to their seat, they spend the next hour or so (they lost track of time honestly) in the library admiring how cute you looked sleeping in their jacket. (they also pull out their phone to snap a few pictures of you, one of which is most definitely going to be a new wallpaper. you wake up to them asleep, their head resting on their forearm. your turn for pictures? of course, duh.)

❥ CHILDE, kaeya, YAE MIKO, itto, kazuha (+ your fav)

too busy relishing in the feeling of your arm tucked around their elbow, they're struggling to focus on the words on the pages of their book or the lyrics in the song playing in their ear. they let out a frustrated sigh as they try to read the same sentence again for the seventeenth time when your favorite song starts playing on the shuffled playlist. they take out an earbud to offer you but realize that you're fast asleep on their shoulder. blinking in surprise, their eyes start to trace the shape of your cheeks and the tip of your nose. warmth rises to the their ears when you nuzzle into them, trying to get comfortable, and they try to move a little as well to accommodate you. completely giving up on reading, they opt to rest their head on yours, breathing in the scent of your shampoo, the small bumps of the bus lulling them to sleep. (you both definitely miss your stop though... but you win some and you lose some...)

their own eyelids were growing heavy, listening to the professor drone on about something related to derivates and second... wait, what was the professor talking about again? not like it mattered, but it was good to pay attention still in case it showed up on the midterm... they sighed and looked over at you. your cheek was squished flat against the palm of your hand as your eyelashes fluttered slightly despite your eyes being closed. you were fast asleep, the professor seeming to have bored you immensely too. it was a good day to sit in the back of the lecture hall as this particular calculus professor was known to humiliate sleepers in her class. a smile creeps onto their face as they watch your peaceful self snoozing away. reopening their laptop, they start to take notes, knowing that if they were to pay attention, the least they could do was help you out.
