so first i find out today that a very close family friend died who knows when. not from my own dad, mind you, but from the friend’s daughter.

then i find out from my half-sister, who is apparently in the know about the everything, that not only is the family friend dead but another great uncle as well and another great uncle is sick.

honestly don’t even know why i’m upset that they don’t communicate with me. it’s not like we’re anything other than people who share a handful of chromosomes or whatever. i guess it’s just the further confirmation that my only living parent and my only known half-sibling are hellbent on excluding me from everything and always want to make sure i know i’m an outsider in their family. we are talking, after all, about the man who can’t even tell me he loves me but says it to my child every time they talk.

Rant below the cut.

I'm at my wits end. Money is so tight that even though I made an extra $200 this last paycheck (weekend and holiday pay), I'm counting pennies trying to make it to Wednesday. And I know part of that is my fault for going to Orlando. But I just needed to do something to me.

I'm scared that with inflation the way it is, I'm not going to be making enough money soon. I spent $300 on groceries this paycheck alone. For just the three of us. Little Man barely has any Christmas gifts from us and it just breaks my heart. Granted, he's young and won't remember this Christmas anyways but still.

And then there's the holiday/seasonal depression. It's hitting hard this year. Especially because I can't afford much for Little Man or my husband. I can't afford to bake cookies like I always do either.

I'm just... burned out and sad and overwhelmed.

Edit: this isn't md asking for money. This is just me venting.
