xxx some misconceptions abt my angel routinely come up in plotting & interactions, so thought i'd talk abt him some to put it out there!:
angel loves his job. being a sex worker brings out the best in him & it's not a shameful occupation he was forced into, needs to be saved from, or is a direct cause to any of his grief. yes, he is overworked & his talents are unjustly exploited but in no way that's worse than any other occupation due to its sexual nature. the angle of the ' poor destitute prostitute ' peeves me kinda massively actually & i really don't vibe with ooc whorephobia.
angel is VIOLENT & RECKLESS. blood & gore doesn't make him squeamish. weapons don't make him squeamish. he's not offput by slaughter & often engages in it himself. he has a severe sadomasichistic streak, a high pain tolerance, & the ability to shed & regrow limbs due to his insect - like physicality. it also takes a LOT to actually make him afraid of physical violence, bc in his mind nth holds a candle to things he's already experienced. on that note!
angel is PROTECTIVE of his relationship with valentino. not because it's a good thing, by any means. but because ( depending on the valentino muse in question ) valentino is and remains to be an important figure in his life for better or worse. whether they were past lovers or strictly have a working relationship, angel's relationship with valentino is closely tied to his own identity & success. he won't hate on him or tolerate such things easily. ( also this popular notion of treating valentino like a hate sink isn't super fun for me. for angel, it's Personal with a capital P )
angel doesn't quite look like he does in canon. i'm not much a stickler on this, but throughout the time i've mused and drawn him, my angel's come to look a little different. primarily, he sports a vibrant pink & curly hair, so please don't describe him as white or pale
he's a cis man with a passion for drag as a lifestyle. gender expression is an intimate part of his identity, but the same - sidedness of his own gender isn't something he's ever doubted. the validity of certain parts of himself that make him a man? absolutely. his sexual identity & gender expression are central themes to his character. but he's never had that deep, internalized wish to cross over. he celebrates his own personal gender expansion but dabbling in things considered ' feminine ' doesn't mean he's ever considered himself a woman ( & being called such isn't smth he likes )

what are your thoughts on the rhys darby merman? I saw people calling it cringe and while I do think darby's performance in that scene was.. a bit not it, the idea itself is really funny and cool to me idk
okay honestly i think i'm gonna have an extremely niche opinion on this because i am like. clinically insane about mermaids like seriously i've been begging my parents to get me one of those swimmable fins since i was like 8 and then i ended up buying one for myself on the internet w my pocket money when i was like. 12-14 idk?? coz they refused to and now i own three. so. literally any opinion i could have on mermaid stede is trumped by me being distracted by the tail coz it's like. they spent so much time and effort on it and it's still kinda bad like omg i can see like so many ways they could've done it better because they literally painted each individual scale which is SO MUCH EFFORT. but the way they laid the scales makes it look like the pattern is just printed on like it's literally a 3d hand painted tail that looks like they got it for 30 dollars on ebay especially bc the silicone doesn't have enough hold so you can still see the human legs under it like you would with a regular printed tail. like if they just overlaid the scales instead of putting them next to each other that'd already be a major improvement like. i cant find the specific video now but like ppl DIYing silicone tails at home usually overlay the scales and it just immediately looks so much better. also i'm not rly a fan of big flashy side fins but that's just personal taste but like tldr they clearly spent a lot if time and effort and money on the tail and it's sad because with a few minor adjustments it could've looked wayyy better
as for like the actual scene i think it's extremely good and cute and the ppl who dislike it hate fun and need to let camp into their hearts. ed's face going all soft and lovey has been playing in my mind on loop ever since and that's not a joke

thinking of how long Rimmer was away from Lister and the others while he was off being Ace Rimmer and how that is almost nothing compared with the amount of time he spent on Rimmerworld locked in a cell completely alone for hundreds of years
it’s really brushed off so quickly how long he was stuck there with absolutely nothing but the stress balls. Completely alone for so long with little reason to believe he’ll actually be rescued. I just. Fuck, man…

I know I get so blinded by Sams plot when watching spn that I often overlook deans, but do you ever think about deans s2 arc? Bc it’s batshit good.
John sells his soul for dean and dean spends the entire season suffering for it - to the point that he /explicitly/ makes the point that selling your soul for a loved one is a selfish and cruel act - only to do that to Sam. Bc Dean just cannot fathom living while Sam is dead.
and thinking about all this makes me want to start chewing drywall bc Dean KNOWS how selfish he is being here, but the idea of sacrificing yourself for someone else’s life - regardless of how much that person WOULD NOT WANT THAT - comes across as the most selfless caring thing you can do.

It’s my middle child’s 3rd birthday today 🥺
3 years ago my partner was deployed overseas and couldn’t come home for the birth because the military didn’t want to spend so much time quarantining their soldiers. Fortunately I had help as my parents were watching my son (at the time just a month shy of 2) for a few days before my due date and we had moved across the street from my partner’s parents when we found out about the deployment. So I had his mom with me at the hospital holding up her phone while we got to have a rare video call with my partner as we welcomed our daughter into the world after a very quick labor. I then had two months with our two very little kids by myself before he came home. It was an incredibly hectic time and I’m still not quite sure how I was able to get through all of that but here we are with the sweetest little 3 year old (let’s call her C) we could have asked for 🥰
C loves to play dress up and she has specific characters she’ll play as where you can’t refer to her as her name or she’ll get mad. She’s not C she’s Dr C or Baby or Baby Kitty or Princess Bucket (this was her first character and yes she does put a bucket on her head as a crown). Her favorite game to play is hide and seek and she loves dance parties and drawing and she’s obsessed with her 1 year old sister. We love C so much and I’m so excited to see how she grows and changes and learns over this next year ❤️
