Hiya, I wanted to share a kinda weird story and ask a question. Just wanted to say you’re a very talented storyteller and I’ve been thinking of your work a lot. I ended up having a dream about time & time again last night where Steve tries to steal the American flag for a bunch of children. It was a pretty angsty dream but I still found it kinda funny because it seems on brand for Steve lol. Also, for those who can’t afford to buy the books on kickstarter, will there be other options to help fund? If the kickstarter succeeds will you list the books on your website or are they one and done? I hope you’re having a lovely day!

I love how the way you've approached this makes me unable to ignore the first part to be able to answer the second.

To start with the questions though, I'll be making a PDF people can get to help support (that will be included in all tiers)! It should be a fun item for any fan of the series... You'll also be able to get just one book instead of all 4 from season 1. I'm trying to plan some other things, but it's all still very much in development so I'm wary of committing too openly to it!

And I am planning to have the Kickstarter goal fund extra copies for me to put on my site and take to conventions, yes! So if someone can't support when it comes out, if it funds then they can order the books later, or find me at a convention with some copies!

I'm planning to be incredibly up front about the costs and processes by which I came to all my decisions, because I've made quite a few strange choices but I assure you they're all just in service of getting books out as soon as (and as fun as) possible!

And for the first bit, it's incredibly flattering to hear that you think about my work... And to the extent that it's invaded your subconscious! Wow! Depending on the context it's definitely something he'd do, complete with angst in a silly situation. Thank you for sharing this with me, I hope your day is kind to you.

Okay so The Star Beast was fun and I'm hyped for Wild Blue Yonder and everything but I am shattered over the new episode of Eleventh Doctor Chronicles.

Broken Hearts is some of the best dark!Doctor Expanded Universe exploration I ever consumed, and that includes The Eleventh Doctor Year Two comics. I am sobbing. I am in tears. I am broken as thoroughly as the Doctor broke Valerie Lockwood.

Every year, I tell myself that I should really consider taking off work for Father Brown premiere day, and then it comes around and I forget to do it, and I spend all day thinking about how I would so much rather be sitting cozy under a million blankets and going back to Kembleford than being forced to do boring work things.

#father brown #honestly i miss the old release schedule model #i loved having just a nice little ep to look forward to every day for two (and sometimes three) full work weeks #now they just put them on iplayer all at once but only air one a week #so its the worst of both worlds #i either watch them all at once b/c i have no impulse control #but do so with the understanding that the fandom may be pacing themselves w/ one a week instead #OR #i force myself to slow down but am grumpy about it #b/c for years the bbc would give me the perfectly prescribed little dose of serotonin in early-jan just when i needed it #the old system was great; why did they change it #an ep a day for 2-3 weeks was just the best way to pace it #i know there's a former higher up at the beeb that just hates the show #b/c it's much more expensive to produce than the average daytime show --even it more than makes up for production costs #by being the single most exported show from the channel to foreign markets (yup even more than doctor who)#so i can't help but wonder if the new release model is an attempt to kill the show by some other bitter exec #well jokes on them cause it didn't work last year and i pray that it won't work this year as well #am a bit worried about the sister boniface spinoff's future ngl #i think i did hear that it was getting an s3 and i think britbox funding it rather than the been directly does help it #but still a bit worried

what's good about a pilot falcon?

HI! The Pilot Falcon (older generations were sold in the US as the Namiki Falcon for whatever reason) is a japanese fountain pen manufactured by Pilot!

it's often referred to as the best modern flex pen, or the best gold nib for a beginner! Tldr for people who aren't pen nerds, a flex pen is a pen that...well, flexes! Most pens have some sort of "flex" to them that results in some sort of line variation, but flex pens can handle a relatively higher amount of pressure. Think like a G nib used in a lot of manga. Old pens were the MASTERS at this, and a good bit of that is due to the nibs being made of gold, which naturally has a "bounce" to it that modern steel nibs have a really hard time living up to. Most people wax poetic about Waterman or other vintages like that because of it. Even modern gold nibs can't really keep up with the gold nibs of yore, but the Falcon is considered to be one that can. I do think legally it's considered a "soft" nib, meaning it's not truly a flex pen but has a lot of flex qualities to it, but some terms that get used are used interchangably so. idk. True flex nibs aren't really a thing in fountain pens these days outside of Noodler's Ahab and Konrad (which are their own nightmare and a half tbh).

The Falcon prized amongst artists for it's very fine nib, which Japanese pen manufacturers like Pilot and Platinum are known for. A Japanese Fine is comparable to a Western (Kaweco, Lamy) Extra fine, and a lot of these pens come in an EF, F, and M. It gets alot of nice line variation despite being so small, and is really an all-around great pen, if legend is to be believed :] An alternative to buying the Pilot Falcon would be getting the Pilot 912 FA, which has something called the "Falcon Nib," not to be confused with the actual pen. They actually look pretty different. The FA nib (right) has these weird cuts on their side that help with flexing and allow it to mimic a full-flex nib, but again. According to legend, modern pens don't flex like vintage pens do, but it IS pretty close.

I've never used either myself, but I'm pretty picky about my pens and so I don't know if I'd ever pay upwards of $200 unless I got familiar with the nib first tbh....The falcon's nib isn't offputting to me like many feel about it, but I'm particular about aesthetics and the feedback on paper and I can't tell if I like them just from looks alone lol. Right now, I don't have much experience with pilot nibs, but if i were to get a pilot pen, tbh I'm looking at the Pilot Elite/e95s in a fine or medium, or a vintage platinum pocket pen.

Anyways that's that and this is also that. *twirls so elegantly and then collapses onto the ground in slapstick fashion*

#im a dweeb #im picky enough about pens that if the nib isnt particularly pleasing (good examples are Visconti Pelikan or Parker nibs)#or particularly unique (examples are Regalia Crossflex and Trilogy or most Music Nibs)#im not particularly drawn to them. superficial and so on #I really like inlaid/inset nibs like the Platinum Carbon or old Pilot desk pens. or the aforementioned Pilot Elite #The Shaeffer Quasi-imperial is PARTICULARLY sexy in design with the diamond inlay tbh #a good flexy or at least bouncy pen can be EF or F for me (sometimes F is actually too large like with the Platinum Preppy)#i tend to benefit from thin nibs anyways (and gold but bouncy steel is good too) because the inks i use are wet #so im not always picky about nib size. but i AM also rlly picky about pen body shapes and a lot do NOT speak to me #I like desk pens bc of the tapered tail but they really aren't suited for travel. but i dont care much for the classic cigar shape of pens #i like how twsbi pens are shaped. i strongly dislike lamy's shape these days. flat top and torpedo pens are better imo #Benu makes both beautiful and gaudy pens and the dream would be a regalia crossflex in either a benu or something truly atrocious #like a custom fountain pen themed after my lonesome cowboy by takashi murakami. no i wont elaborate no dont look that up #alas fountain pens are an expensive hobby and ppl can be a bit dickish about 'lower quality' pens so its not very newbie friendly #esp on reddit. some ppl are so obnoxious tbh. i like the tumblr fp fans way better theyre a lot more helpful and not married to brands #OK THATS ENOUGH SORRY YOU GOT THE RAMBLINDS OF A LUNATIC ITS MIDNIGHT GOOD NIGHT ANON #not art

My father, talking abt how one of his co-workers is maybe autistic. My brother, immediately, well as long as he's high functioning. My dumb ass trying to explain why the term high functioning can be harmful and while a lot of professionals still use it, autism self advocates are trying to push away from it. Deliberately trying to explain this without using any sort of "fancy" terminology or strange concepte. My aunt, disdainfully, ugh all this terminology it's changing everyday I can't keep up.

been doing some soft dog massage on sigurd lately to help keep him supple (he has a vet appointment about his lameness tomorrow morning), but i just rubbed the gnarliest knot out i've ever felt on his shoulder. poor bud.

you know what, actually this is worth a brag. I managed to eat for five days on a road trip for (calculated) ~$15 US total.

#It was not good eating. But it was eating #there *was* a day in there where i had nothing but rice. but it was fine because for the entire other four i just ate pepperoni. so i had #probably more protein than i needed all things told #i miss vegetables a little bit. but its fine because now i am home where i have onions and a kitchen and can keep being a cheapass #i fucking hate buying food at restaurants they're always so fucking expensive. god i am so good at not spending fucking money on essentials #so that instead i can buy a shitload of toys i pretty much cannot actually afford #posts i really hope no one shows my dad because he'll lecture me about them #i'm allowed to brag about this one actually #this doesnt include the cost of the two boxes of cookies i brought (roughly $10 together bc gluten free food fucking sux and is expensive)#but it does include the six seltzers and six arizonas i got #since they were both in big packages and i also didnt drink them all
