i made a welcome home oc (not sure if ill change his design or not)! his name is Berry Bubblegum (and yes he is a self insert). i imagine he wouldve joined the show in a later season. he wouldnt be in many episodes but shows up a lot as a bg character. hes the towns planner and local paranoid poet. he doesnt leave the house much unless its to go to a local event in the neighborhood, to get stuff for his house, to go see one of sallys plays, or to hang out with Sally Starlot. i can see him having a bit of a crush on sally but im not sure if sally would reciprocate his feelings. he is said to smell like a blend of sweet fruit, his smell depending on his emotions and who hes thinking about (might go into more detail in another post)

i think where itd be interesting, tho, is his relationship with wally. berry would start out being jealous of wally, wanting his life, his friends, his artistic skills. but over time he starts to warm up. wally, on the other hand, goes from two moods whenever hes talking with berry, either "shut up and kiss me" or "shut up and leave"

berry would be based off someone working on the show, an anxious script writer who would often chew bubble gum to ease his anxiety. his puppet would have much floppier hair than the other puppets to allow him to do that "shocked hair expression". his puppet doesnt smell like anything like hes described to smell like, but some on the crew like to spray fruity perfume on him.

im not sure how he would play into the horror aspect. i guess if i were writing a fic about him it would revolve around him, sally, and wally. i guess he would be used as a prop in the horror aspect.

General Changes

New Challenge Mode

Custom seed generator that can play back the last 80 pitches you hit (Pitches fouled or missed won’t count!) from a regular game and place you in a league depending on how you did.

4 Challenge leagues: Little League, Minor League, Major League, and Master League each with their own achievements and leaderboards. 

Code sharing capabilities for Nomad’s talking smack. 

Completing a challenge awards you a base amount, depending on the league and number of pitches in a challenge. 

Secret cheat codes for fun. (See if you can find hints around the game!)

4 New field layouts for each League.

Gameplay Changes

2 New Power-Ups 

Extender 

Gives you the ability to choose from 3 power ups instead of 2 on perfect fevers. 

Foul Guard 

Saves you from getting strikes from foul balls 3 times. Once the guard is broken, you’ll get strikes from fouls again. The guard will recharge when you hit a fever ball. 

Revamped Power-Ups

Multiplier 

Multiplier maximum increased from x10 to x40. Power levels are now: x2, x4, x7, x10, x20, and x40

Bird Barrage

Explosive rainbow birds now grant a fever charge when hit by a ball. Allowing you to get to Fever faster. 

New Pitches 

5 new main game pitches available at tougher difficulties. 

6 new pitches added to ARG specific part of game. 

Replaying your last game through Challenge Mode. 

At the end of a regular game you’ll see the pitches from your last game transfer into the challenge menu. It’ll place you in a league and give you the chance to replay your last game.

Bug Fixes

Points not updating correctly visually. (Thank you Chris234k and Jason)

Clouds not always rolling through. 

Max Fever causing the game to crash. (Thank you Grommets)

Pop ups not responding to input due to input registering issue and screen rendering calculations on some devices. (Thank you Pat)

Hey ya’ll. Thank you so much for your support and for playing the game. A lot of love has been put into making Becker Derby the best it can be. It may be a while before we see another update, but that doesn’t mean support for the game is ending. There’s so much more I want to do to grow it out! (Hit up Becker College if you want to see more from it!!) The Starlot Derby series has come a long way from being a little anti-baseball baseball game and we have so much further to go. I hope you’ll stick along the ride to see what more we can push out, as we gear up for our next adventure ;)
