I hate confederates, as everyone should. But my favorite has to be Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson. Just purely from how dorky he was:
He once ate bread with butter, and thought the slice of bread was so good he just decided not to use butter anymore. He just ate straight up bread.
Anything that tasted bad to him, he thought it was healthy.
Whenever he met Eleanor Junkin (his first wife) he thought he was ill. One of his peers had to break the news to him that he wasn’t ill, he just had a crush.
He was self-conscious on a whole other level.
When he sat down he’d never allow his back to touch the chair, nor would he cross his legs. He thought this made him look more “gentlemanly”.
Apparently he had a bit of a feminine voice. He was frail, tall, and overly polite.
He had a really terrible reputation with horsemen ship. If my memory serves me correct one of his soldiers thought he was an embarrassment from how dorky he looked whilst riding.
If he were alive today we’d most likely diagnose him with OCD. He was a hypochondriac. Some suggest he might’ve had Asperger’s (level 1 autism).
He thought Dr. Hunter MacGuire (the same surgeon that’d amputate his arm) was joking when he said he was a doctor because how young he looked.
After he’d get off work he’d play pranks on Anna (his second wife). One time he got home, withdrew his sabor, and chased her around the house with it. Also he’d jump out behind doors and scare her.
Thomas Jackson was a silly-traumatized guy

Spending time with friends and family in Maryland over the last week. We have parked the Lance at my Aunt’s house in Glen Burnie, Md.
We have also been working with Cummins in Manassas, Va. to get our Onan generator repaired before we head further north. The travel back and forth between Glen Burnie, Md. and Manassas, Va. is horrendous! We’ve made the trip twice now and not looking forward to doing it again but Cummins still hasn’t figured out what’s wrong. They have multiple techs looking at it. I hope they figure it out this week. We are planning to continue north on Saturday.
We were able to do some sight seeing in Manassas last week while we were there. The Manassas Battlefield Park at Bull Run was a great visit. We walked the trail over the infamous Stone Bridge at Bill Run. It’s amazing when you think about all that occurred and all that gave their life for the cause at these historical locations. Where would we be if they didn’t? Check out the Stonewall Jackson statue overlooking the battlefield at Manassas below.

Jackson's Foot Cavalry
Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson was a formidable opponent and one of the best generals in the American Civil War. His presence on the battlefield was disruptive, and he could make a larger enemy force scatter in confusion. However, it was more than just his understanding of battlefield tactics that won victories. The troops under Jackson’s command had the nickname “Foot Cavalry,” and those soldiers…
