gojo satoru who finds his scars to be a sign of his failure as the strongest, a reminder of all of the people whom he failed to protect. he treats each scar not as a trophy of his survival but rather as a sign of weakness. a foolish thought, truly, but even the strongest has his faults at times.

( and there is a reason, after all as you so often joke, why he is called the strongest and not the wisest )

it's rare that you have the time to simply exist together and so, you both try and take as much advantage of it as possible. on the times when you can linger, you always do. even as he begs for you to go faster, tells you over and over again that he can take whatever you give him, that he won't break, but you still go slow. you ensure that he stays still — not that it takes much convincing; all you have to do is ask and he's eager to be your good boy. wanna be your good boy. am i your good boy, yet? — and that he feels every inch of you all over him.

I think they’ve always been aware that MC was different from their other friends;

As a kid, they remember other friends complaining about Qiu’s giving MC special treatment, and as someone preoccupied with fairness it used to annoy them to no end;

Because they knew it was true, they just didn’t understand why they felt so compelled to treat them this way;

As they grew up and the idea of romantic love became a less threatening, more concrete concept, it didn’t take them too long to piece it together;

MC was always there for Qiu, always ready to show them support and kindness and to look out for them, when Qiu was used to other people relying on them to be like that;

They’d watch them laughing at something Tamarack said and would just feel this… warmth in their chest;

Like this was something they’d need to protect;

The world could be a cruel place, but MC’s kindness and their laughter was the one thing Qiu wanted to preserve;

I don’t think Qiu had this grand moment of realisation;

It happened one night, right at the beginning of autumn, when the leaves started falling and the nights grew colder;

They both agreed to meet in Qiu’s backyard in the early hours of the evening to look at the stars through a telescope together;

Mc managed to bring their favourite tea in a thermos, and gave Qiu the biggest hug once they saw them;

They were just… so happy. Being awake at odd hours of the night trying not to be too loud to not wake Qiu’s parents from their slumber;

Watching the stars and talking about mythology;

Mc started rambling about something they had read and stopped in the middle of it, apologizing about speaking too much;

And Qiu found that they didn’t mind it;

Not only that, they welcomed it. They loved how passionate MC was, how happy and comfortable they had been all night;

Qiu didn’t want them to stop at all, and they realized that they wanted to be the person that MC went to when they wanted to talk about these things;

Well… when people described love it always seemed so overwhelming, and in some aspects it was;

But it mostly just felt right;

Their name is Qiu, their friends call them Autumn, and they are in love with MC;

It’s been a part of them for a long time, and was just nice to finally understand that part of themselves;

Not too much changed after that, only that perhaps their affection and special treatment became more blatant;

In their teens, MC is one of the few people Qiu can stand to be around, and after they’ve realised their feelings they started relying on MC a bit more;

Because Qiu trusts them with that!;

Honestly? MC’s affection is one of the things that keep Qiu going;

MC, despite their obliviousness, ends up noticing and making sure to support them whenever he needs it most;

When Qiu is having a bad day MC will just… Wrap them in a hug and stay there for as long as Qiu needs;

If MC noticed how fast Qiu’s heart beats when they hug, they never mention it;

There are also more subtle types of affection;

Like linking their arms together while walking, grabbing their hand to lead them somewhere or just leaning against Qiu when they’re tired;

Even with all their angst, MC’s affection is always a sure way to soften them;

Qiu will often pinch their cheeks or pat them on the head and lightly tease them for being touchy;

I’m pretty sure Qiu’s love language is acts of service, but knowing how important physical affection is to the MC, Qiu will make sure to initiate it too;

Honestly, I don’t see Qiu as a very jealous person, and knowing Tamarack for years and being close to her, I don’t think that they’re jealous about MC showing her affection too;

Instead, it makes them happy that MC is surrounded by good people that care about them as much as Qiu does;

Tamarack ends up noticing their crush eventually;

I mean… I’m sure everyone knows about it except MC themselves;

And even if she seems a little too invested in it and will sometimes give Qiu a hard time about it in private, she’s very supportive;

And it means a lot to them to have MC’s other best friend support them like that;

In regards to MC being insecure… Qiu doesn’t get it at all;

How can someone that amazing be insecure about themselves? How can they worry about not being loveable enough, not interesting enough? Not beautiful enough?;

And they’re fucking pissed at anyone who would ever make MC feel that way;

MC is a person that Qiu cares about deeply, even if they’re colder at that age, there’s no way they just let them think so little of themselves if they can help it;

So… MC is one of the few people that Qiu will make a big effort with;

They make sure MC knows how special they are, and how beautiful of a person both inside and out!

You’ve known Arkin for a long time. You worked alongside him during his time as a contractor; you knew about his wife, Lisa, and little girl, Cindy. Finally escaping The Collector to find out that Lisa filed divorce papers after he told her to flee completely broke him. He loved his wife, despite her constant gambling and using Cindy as a way to keep him leashed, and watching her leave him after everything he had done to get back to them destroyed the man.

 You had been there throughout the whole shit show, providing as much comfort as you could. Your shitty flat became home to the recovering man, who slept on your couch more than enough times to leave an imprint. Hell, even your bed had become contaminated with his smell on more than one occasion; on some nights, you insisted he spare his back from sleeping on the old piece of junk. But you didn’t kick him out or turn him away. You couldn’t, not when you had seen the previous fights between him and his ex-wife, or how he talked about Cindy in such a caring way, clearly missing her more than air. You couldn't help but want to help the guy, with his unkempt appearance and dark shadows under his eyes being equal parts concerning and somehow handsome on him. And his witty comebacks always made your day, naturally, you had to admit his company wasn't one you minded keeping, even when he was close to hitting rock bottom some days.

You know he doesn’t care for himself like he should, not when he only cared about seeing his kid. With that no longer possible, thanks to Lisa’s papers and custody battle, he would be lucky to see Cindy at all or even get to call her. His will to get better or take care of himself in any way deteriorated rapidly after the decision was finalized; if it wasn’t for your encouragement to shower or eat a little bit, he would have wasted away in your living room.

Of course, you weren't above abusing your professional connections to help, too. An ask here, a bribe there, and the next thing you know, envelopes to small packages full of pictures of Cindy arrived at your work. You would then bring them home to give to Arkin as some sort of gift to show that his baby was okay. He never asked who you talked with to get the photos, and you never told him, either; neither of you minded crossing some lines if it helped. 

And it did help him– The life in the man started to slowly, but surely, trickle back into his being. His eyes seemed brighter, and he started to take care of himself a bit more. He’d even gone back to his previous job as a contractor. He didn’t move out, though, not that you minded him sticking around. To others, it might have been awful to have someone you had helped get back on their feet not go on to leave your home. For you, however, it was just another thing you had hoped would happen, coming to fruition. 

The man you’ve been pining after for years, a best friend and romantic interest, staying with you? While you should feel awful he had to lose his wife and kid for it to happen, you couldn’t help but feel glad in a way. All the same, you couldn’t help but want him to still have some sort of access to Cindy. He loves her, you know, and wouldn’t take that away from him for the world. Even if it meant using some favours on your part, to see him happy and becoming healthy was all you cared about.

At some point, your feelings for him became an open secret, as sharing a living space with the man meant that little could go unnoticed between you two for long; you had yet to breach the topic explicitly, however, knowing he needed time to recover from his previous relationship. It’s on a day both of you are off work that you spring the idea of a date up, if only to test the waters.

“It can be between friends if you prefer, Arkin. I just thought we could go out,” you tell him. You don’t want to force him into joining you if he really doesn’t want to.

“Depends. Where are we goin’?” He’s relaxed on the couch, looking at some of the blueprints for another bit of decor needed on a house he’s going to be working on soon.

“The museum. The one a few blocks away from the bar you used to frequent before that guy happened,” you reply, hinting at The Collector but not outright saying the mass-murderer’s title for Arkin’s peace of mind.

“Is it any good?”

“Depends,” is your answer, echoing his early answer in a teasing tone of voice. You can hear him snort in good humour.

“We can go. Let me just put away these papers. Do I have to dress up?” You give him a quick look over before shaking your head.

“You can dress down for all I care. As long as you have something to cover your muscles.” The pillow cushion that hits you in response makes you laugh. You couldn’t help but poke fun at the other.

“Alright, alright. I’ll throw on my shoes. But you can’t go teasing me like that, I’m too old for it,” he insists lightly.

“You’re thirty-two, Arkin! You’re hardly old, Asshat.” His laughter from your bedroom gets that warm feeling in your gut to curl up close to your heart. Yeah, you’re pretty lucky to have this asshat in your life, despite the circumstances that brought you two together.

The boy with a dream

We know Sam's destiny from the beginning was to rule an army and Hell. To be a leader. But he always was the rebellious child, it was obvious he wouldn't fulfill any forced destiny.

The idea of follow a different path grew strong in him, that's why he decided not to join his father and his brother and having a normal life.

He really tried, but again his truly destiny was chasing after him from the very beginning. And he was dragged again into the hunter life, not because he wanted to, but because he needed to fullfil his revenge, as his father did. Repeating his father story, even if he had disapproved him.

The boy with a destiny

When Sam came back from the dark side, from drinking demon blood upgrading his psyquic powers, there was still another destiny chasing after him: LEADERSHIP. But not just any leader, but Hell's king, as Lucifer vessel.

Although every cell of his body fought against his destiny, he ended by saying yes to Lucifer, using all his strengths to take control over his own body helped by family love. And he jumped into that Hell's hole, saving the world and receiving the redemption he deserved. He is a hero.

The man with a mission

In season 12 we finally saw him as a leader. It was just one episode, but Sammy showed us his skills in the leadership. And it fits him perfectly. I think we all know that the whole time. Because Sammy is an innate leader. He is smart, strong, he evaluates each decision and he has this empathic way when he talks with people.

In season 14 we saw Sammy's leadership in all it's splendor, he even had developed a system to keep the connection between hunter and the bunker, filming the missions and reporting constantly.

Dean was amazed and felt proud of him, but also Sammy received critics and judgment from AUBobby in 14x05, representing John Winchester btw, and showing Sam's inner fears for being responsible for so many people's lives.

But a leader will always receive critics, for his position, and bc all his decisions affects a group.

A man with faith

He always is looking for another way out, even when things are hard, he is the one keeping hopes up, searching, investigating. He is constantly fighting, and rarely he give up, because he learned to fight till the end from his brother, and even from his father too, whom never gave up trying to get revenge.

In the beginning of the show, firsts seasons, he was a very angry character, affected by demon blood and the pain of loosing Jesse.

After being in hell and solving the soulless issue, Sammy developed a very calm mood, always trying to help people, and empathizing with them. Showing a virtuous strength, which had helped him to resist in the cage the tortures from Michael and Lucifer.

He is very controlled about what he feels, and moderate in showing it. But there's situations he had been going through, mostly these last season, in which we had seen him broken.

Recalling when they losing Mary by the end of season 12 (after saying to her he felt complete having his mom with him), losing Jack (his adopted son) in 14x08, trying to convince Dean to not use the Mal'ak box in 14x12 and losing all his "army" in 14x14. Every one of these episodes had something in common: IMPOTENCE. When Sam feels he can't do something to fix things, he breaks. Beacuse he is the one solving the situations, doing research, trying to figure out things, but when he sees there's no way out, he breaks...

Talking about "Peace of Mind"...

In the last episode, Sammy was again in that emotional state in which you could say, he was about to break. Having visions about your dead friends in the bunkers isn't something that happens like nothing. He was struggling inside with his "failure as a leader" , so he tried to run away from the place that Remember him his failure and his impotence.

When we saw the poster from "Charming Acres", and we had two excelent meta about it from @drsilverfish here and @poorreputation here. I first saw the color (yellow, related with Sam). So that will be the place where SAM COULD REACH A FAKE HAPPINESS AND A FAKE PEACE OF MIND FROM ALL HIS GHOSTS.

The man with a destiny

As we had been talking about, Sammy fights against his destiny, but he ends always by embracing it, against his will... This season begins like this...

Sammy naming himself as new King of Hell, maybe not being so conscious about the height of his own words... He is embracing symbolically what he was rejecting all his life. Fullfil his destiny.

The last episode was about a psyquic.

Coincidences? I don't think so, this proves Sammy's destiny is many chasing after him again. Let's see.

A man with a family

So Justin Smith was living a "happy" life, Sammy wanted to scape from the hard and sad reality he was living, and that was perfect for him. Brainwashed, new life, the life he wanted in his past. Lying to himself. The mind control was strong... Till CAS appears again.

And there's three olives on the martini, and not just two, as always... (Letting the menáge a troi meaning, I found it very interesting Sam pointed WE ARE THREE DEAN, CAS AND ME)

And there was that beautiful parallel with 10x22...

Castiel, the best friend Sammy ever had, is who made him break from mind control mentioning him: FAMILY (JACK AND DEAN) AND HIS FAILURES AS A LEADER empathizing with him, he talked to Sam as a Commander to another Commander, as a friend to another friend, and as a brother to a brother. Mentioning KEEP FIGHTING, It's a call to Sam's essence. FAITH, KEEP FIGHTING, FINDING ANOTHER WAY, KEEP FIGHTING. That's what brought Sammy back. His family, his mission, his destiny, his choices.

To conclude

Sam is a hero, he had walked a path full of pain and hard moments, but that's what built in him the grown up character we are seeing now.

He is a generous, empathic, smart, insightful person who not matters what, keeps his faith and keeps fighting.

He can break when he feels IMPOTENCE, and he is always searching for another way to solve situations.

He had always fought back his destiny, but the story showed us he ends doing it anyway (like leadership).

I would love to see him in a big role as getting back his powers, would be interesting beacuse the improvement of his character was huge, and adding his psyquic powers to it plus the little detail he named himself (accidentally) as King of Hell could lead us to a wonderful end game for him.

you mentioned in tags some time ago that you hoped someone would come ask you for your thoughts on wonder woman when they wouldn't be so potentially spoilery timing-wise, and i'm here to ask you for that now if you don't mind! i have been DYING to hear your thoughts on this movie (which i loved ardently). (btw, one of my side-note-personal-fav-things about the movie that has nothing to do with diana or amazons was that eugene brave rock got to speak blackfoot!! can u even believe)

I’m still in a State about it, darling anon. I have, since watching it for the first time, taken off the rose-coloured glasses and noticed the flaws, but they still don’t seem to matter, because with films and narratives like these, the importance comes from the emotion and comfort they provide. And that’s where Wonder Woman pays off in an entire deck of spades.

Like there was a moment in the film, where my stomach dropped - when Diana kills Luddendorff and the war doesn’t end like she believed it would, and for a second, my stomach fucking dropped because they could have so easily turned it into a story of How Diana Learns The Harsh Reality Of Humanity And Life, belittled and chastised her for her lack of cynicism, but they don’t… her resolve and fundamental beliefs and idealism are all in constant validation in the text (even as they are challenged).

And that is why, even though I struggle with the third act, and an argument can be made that having a villain was a bad choice, that it would’ve been more compelling had Ares been dead all along, and Diana would’ve had to confront the fact that man is inherently destructive and cruel - I’m glad they didn’t take that route. The film didn’t need to invalidate or crush or remake Diana into a superhero. She hasn’t always been Wonder Woman, but she’s always been a hero, she’s always had the heart of a hero. And the film gets that.

So, she gets to be naive and vulnerable, care about all the ‘little people’ that are usually ignored for the ‘bigger picture’, AND kick ass.

In a time, where most of the (male) superheroes in our media are disillusioned, brutalized anti-hero versions of themselves, Wonder Woman is a breath of fresh air. Wonder Woman is a gift.

(I learned about Brave Rock speaking Blackfoot later, but I’m happy for you, anon, and everybody else it was a big deal for! Chief was my favourite side/supporting character, and I gasped at the “Who killed your people?” “His people” bit. I liked that they addressed it in such a candid way, really put into perspective that people who present themselves as the ‘good guys’ are the villains in somebody else’s history.

There were other little things I appreciated: the train scene had a lot of Indian and Sikh soldiers, made London look more diverse in WWI than most of the current BBC shows set in modern times; the Amazons were pretty diverse too (still wish more of them had had speaking parts); also, Sameer not being able to act because of racism, and Charlie suffering from PTSD. They were all very brief moments, but they were such a large statement.)

if u don't mind me asking, how did u sew the yurio cosplay? Did u use a leotard base then added the extra things or did u completely sew from scratch? (If so kudos to u bc that looks so hard) btw it looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello there!

Thank you so much! That cosplay was thrown together in a week, so I’m not sure how much of my actual construction notes ended up online, or if it was mostly just me grumbling about how much I hate glitter fabric. All of my progress should be in this tag.

I made the leotard from scratch. With how I made it, using a pre-made leotard would only give me the advantage of having it already patterned and have the sleeves done, since the applique is all sewn into the seams -- I would have had to have taken the leotard apart in order to add the detailing, and then sewn it back together. I patterned the leotard myself, as well, but there are plenty of leotard patterns available commercially.

Here’s my basic order of operations:The leotard is all one continuous piece of fabric for the base. This is the light grey matte milliskin seen around the bottom of the leotard. Everything else was added on top. If I had done the original design rather than a fem version, I would have used a flesh tone mesh or opaque spandex for the top portion rather than the silver all the way up, since the original outfit is supposed to be sheer on top. Since it’s already scandalous enough that I don’t have a skirt on this outfit, I decided that bucking both figure skating regulations and the rules of common decency by having the illusion of nudity up top would not fly, so I made sure no one could interpret me as being topless. :P

For the top portion, I flatlined silver glitter mesh to the silver milliskin, but only to about the waist. I left the bottom edge free, so that I could trim it in case it extended below the level of the applique (which it did in a few places). Flatlining is a process where you sew two fabrics together within the seam allowance so that they act as a single piece of material. This is really useful for things like adding mesh overlays or using an interlining for body on a thinner material. I did the same for the sleeves, though the mesh continues for the entire length.

I then did the dark grey applique first, then the shiny silver on top of it. The dark grey actually extends beyond the visible edge, so that it sits underneath the silver. This was so that I only had to deal with one delicate jagged edge rather than trying to match two edges up -- the edge of the dark grey naturally follows the edge of the silver because the silver is sitting on top -- as matching up the edges would have been nearly impossible to get clean-looking. I did a lot of paper patterns before cutting my fabric for the applique, and the applique took almost an entire day alone. The designs were mostly freehanded, though I folded the dark grey ones in half to be symmetrical. There’s a couple of parts where they don’t /quite perfectly/ line up on the sides, but that’s what happens when you throw a cosplay together in a week and don’t have time to redo it.

Then everything was sewn together -- the sleeve caps were done first, and then the side seams and underarm seams were done in one go. The sleeve cuffs and pointed hand pieces were done in two pieces each (the top and a lining), sewn together along the outside edge (where the point is), flipped so the seams were on the inside, and sewn to the sleeves. There is a small loop of elastic so they sit on my fingers. the neckband was done in much the same way, and attaches in the back with hooks and eyes. The whole thing has hooks and eyes at the crotch to get it on and off (since the neck is too narrow to step through and I didn’t want to do a zipper) and for ease of restroom use. The tension of the leotard’s stretch keeps the hooks and eyes in place, so no wardrobe malfunctions!

Ostrich feathers at my hips are handsewn on. I feel like I need to add more, but that’s all I had at the time. Feathers at my hands and shoulders are made out of white goose feather trim that I cut and handsewed into shape. The shoulder pieces are a line of trim facing one direction, another line facing the other direction (so that the tape portion of the trim/the bottoms of the feathers butt against each other), and another line on top to hide the seams and add fluff. Hand feathers were done with the same trim, but cut short so that only two feathers were together on the tape. I cut four of these, and sewed them together into two V shapes. All of the goose feathers attach with multiple snaps so they can detach for washing (or walking in the wind and rain).

If you were to use a leotard as a base, I’d recommend opening the side seams, doing the applique, and then closing the side seams again. This will both allow for the applique to be sewn into the seams for a cleaner finish and prevent you from accidentally catching the back of the leotard in the front applique or vice versa.
