"Look into the beady little eyes your past self, and question if you wish to destroy him."
Dan did. There was obviously something wrong with his past self, because that's a literal teddy bear, looking at him with his beady little eyes. It would be so, so very easy to destroy his past self if he wanted to.
Instead, he just, sorta, picked him up.
Was he always so tiny and innocent? So, trusting? The boy didn't even move back when he reached for him, no, he walked forwards into his hands.
No survival instinct?! He has none! He's tiny, utterly defenseless and doesn't even have the basic instincts of self-preservation! Even a blob ghost has something akin to such instinct.
He lifted his past self up to eye level. Was I always this... cute and cuddly? He shook him, up, down, left, right, the only thing that caused was for the other him to laugh.
He squeezed his past self.
A loud sound- not unlike that of a squeaky toy, was what was produced as a result. Then he just, stood there, unmoving, his brain churning to try and provide understanding yet also trying to restart itself.
His past self tilted his head, reaching a paw forwards to poke him on the nose.
He blinked.
His younger self blinked as well.
He pulled back his lips, bearing his fangs as he snarled as his younger self.
The boy copied him, his mouth shifting as what were undoubtably the cutest little fangs he's ever seen were bared at him in a cute and less intimidating imitation of his own snarl.
That's it.
It's decided.
He's keeping him.
He no longer cares about going back to his timeline to repay his grudge against the Batclan, who he suffered humiliation after humiliation from because they just would not fall or submit.
He's content to stay with this version of himself. This, smaller, more unthreatening version of himself that seemed to have a crippling lack of fear.
Because he's undoubtedly felt the same sense of loss as he, himself did, in the future. This one has no family, no friends, and would most surely not survive with just himself and would be hit harder when he realizes that he's alone.
...
His timeline doesn't need or want him anyway.
===
A few heroes have travelled back in time from their ruined timeline, everything utterly destroyed and despair premating the very air and choking your lungs with every breath they took.
Either that or the dust, really.
The air in the past was fresh, clean, full of hope and new opportunities. They wouldn't waste it, they would protect it, this time. Prevent the fallen from falling, and having children not be bound under the protection of a ghost shield and parents living their lives in fear because they knew what was out there.
They just had to get rid of one man- no.
One monster.
Dan Phantom.

Headcanon about Bastard’s Box (probably Tinky as well as how he might obsess over Ted cause eeyup)
sometimes I wonder if say, Tinky collects Teds like collecting Barbie dolls.
So he has a Ted of every kind. Teds he traumatised, Teds doomed by the narrative, even the infected Ted too. The requirement for Tinky to just collect the Teds is they gotta die.
On the regular, each Ted is basically kept in their own rooms in the Bastard’s Box. By right, the multiple Teds from every timeline collected thus far should not meet each other, because Tinky simply doesn’t need any Ted to know about the other Teds.
This could go a few ways.
One is some Teds DO bump into each other at times and dive into each others’ very shared trauma before the time goat comes back to see what’s the next Ted to play with.
Second is that, the Teds, in between times of Tinky messing with a Ted, literally gather round and just start chattering away about anything. Sometimes maybe they help each other with whatever game Tinky is giving one of them next. Gotta help each other, you’re all doomed to be a time goat’s toys for life.
Third, with which I think for laughs and no plot, is the Teds Talkshow just for Teds. Hilarity ensues. Tinky does not know of the Teds Talkshow. Nobody knows who assembled it, they just know that this talkshow sometimes appears at random to the Eldritch folks down in Drowsy Town, assuming they have a radio or even their form of TV.
thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

Dude, what is, like, the lore of the teddy bear au?? Because is really sweet, but I'm so confused as to how things ended up that way
Alright sO.
The basis of the au is that the completion of the ghost portal happened earlier, like 9 years earlier than in canon, and Danny, being a curious 5-year-old with not a hint of supervision gets down to his parents' lab and accidentally turns on said portal.
Thing is, he had his Teddy Bear with him, and then he was shoved or remade as that same Teddy Bear. So he's basically this half-dead child but as a teddy bear!
In some versions of that au, Danny still has his organs and stuff, but they're more so ectoplasmic rather than flesh, well they are still made out of flesh but still and he can still bleed in a sense.
In others he doesn't have said organs, being fully stuffed with cotton with his core somewhere along in there.
So basically, he's just a little baby ghostling or halfa or whatever in that flavor of aus lmao.
