Bloody Roar concept art

Hi guys, a while back I asked a question about whether there were still any Bloody Roar fans. Now that I’ve logged into my Tumblr again, I’ve seen some ppl chime in to say hello! Thus, to keep this fandom (however small it is lol) active, imma post some cool stuff concerning BR; concept art for the first game. *Note that all this info is from Mitsuakira Tatsuta and Shinsuke Yamakawa’s Twitters with some of my opinions and observations sprinkled in

So, back when the first game was being developed, the character designers had to rack their brains to come up with good zoanthrope designs. Part of the team were Mitsuakira Tatsuta and Shinsuke Yamakawa and they sketched all kinds of beasts at an incredible rate (like, it was a lot). Mr. Tatsuta himself drew about 300 of them and he said there were a bull and kangaroo design he personally liked but those got rejected (we’ll get there).

The image above is an unused koala girl whom he and the other artists found funny and couldn’t stop laughing at how terrible and dumb it looked. Tbh, they were kinda right lol. Given how slow koalas are, the image of a humanoid marsupial with boobs running towards you is fucking hilarious.

Anteater dude. Probably would have played like a mix between Bakuryu and Busuzima. Mr. Yamakawa thought it looked similar to the former. Speaking of which.......

Early design for Bakuryu. Seems like the mole was going to have ears and a tail. Actually, I’ve always wondered why the Bakuryus didn’t have tails when moles irl do have visible ones. Unless there’s a breed of mole that doesn’t, in which case I’m not aware of. The concept of a 2nd Bakuryu was also apparently already thought up at this time (idk if in the form of a clone, brother, student, etc.) even when Mr. Tatsuta wasn’t involved much in the later games so it’s nice to know that Kakeru/Kenji was not merely an afterthought haha.

Here are 2 very early concept art of Alice. In the 1st one, she looks more mature and edgy. The design/aesthetic may have been recycled into Nagi’s in BR4 (especially the tube top). In the 2nd one, she doesn’t have pigtails since her hair is short and instead wears a giant bow to emulate bunny ears. Very shoujo-esque.

This is the rejected bull design Mr. Tatsuta mentioned and next to it an early bat zoanthrope. The artist had already thought up some ideas on how they were going to fit in the game. The bat was of course used as the basis for Jenny’s beast form later on. There is also the bull zoanthrope’s human form. The character would be Native American it looks like. Bull guy here had been shown before in concept art included in the BR1 game.

A black panther woman (literally lol). It looks like she could have been a black character (probably the first and only in the series unless you count Greg). Also, if this character was approved, we’d have gotten even more cats in the roster.

Squirrel girl, elephant man, and goat lady. The first one looks kinda like a monkey girl (which would be super cute), elephant obvs became Ganesha later, and the goat lady looks more like a demon/satyr to me. This would actually be cool and does fit in with the mythos as shown in the games and the “BR: The Fang” manga i.e., fantasy creatures such as mermaids, dragons, and phoenixes.

Kangaroo zoanthrope. Mr. Tatsuta imagined him using the Muay Thai fighting style. Eventually rejected as Roger, another kangaroo fgc, had already appeared in Tekken 1-2 years before.

Something veeeeeryyyy interesting. This is a pretty detailed design for a character that was going to be Alice’s brother. This guy was also included in the concept art feature in the BR1 game but it was not mentioned who he was supposed to be. I actually thought he was a proto-Yugo or something. Well, if he made it this far into the character creation process (past the rough sketches and onto colored concept art), then there must have been a conceptual storyline for him somewhere along the line. Judging from his appearance and fashion sense (heh), he’s definitely related to Alice.

Additionally, the red eyes and rabbit-like face probably means that he too was going to have a rabbit beast form; maybe even a hare. I guess he was scrapped since having 2 bunnies would’ve been redundant. I wonder how Alice’s backstory might’ve been had her brother existed. Would she have been adopted into the Nonomura family? Was there going to be some plot where she would be looking for him, thinking she lost her family? Who knows. One thing I do know however, is that he’d butt heads with Yugo since he wouldn’t be keen on his sister dating a *gasp* predator.

Now, I think it would be awesome if this character is introduced in a potential reboot/new installment! They could say Alice didn’t know he was alive, or that he stayed away to keep her safe, seeing as she was already happy with the Nonomuras and relegated himself to watching over her in the shadows. Seriouslyyyy the potential is enormous and I’m hoping something will be done with scrapped concepts like this. (Plus, this guy reminded me of the genderbend Alice fanart I did so long ago. I guess male Alice wasn’t too far off after all).

And lastly, Alice in her sailor fuku (human and beast form). Mr. Tatsuta said this was how he imagined she looked like in that costume.

That’s all for now! It’s really interesting to see all this concept art and trace back where some designs carried over into later installments of the series. After going through all of them, I yearn even more for another Bloody Roar game! A reboot would be great and some of the rejected designs could be used too. Or continuation with new characters and a bigger roster; that would be even more amazing. Anyway, I thought I should share these sketches by some of the original Raizing/Eighting staff and keep the interest in BR going. We may get something; in regards to Konami trademarking the brand name last year, we just have to wait and see.

I’m not smart enough to understand the Vonnegut thing at all can you explain? (Am I gonna regret asking?)

no i don’t think you’re gonna regret it. i wrote the paper in junior year so i’m not gonna get super in detail but i had to write a long research paper that was worth like, twenty percent of my grade or something and i chose to write it on kurt vonnegut and how like, there’s sort of a lack of free will in a lot of his books to varying degrees. i think i focused on mother night and slaughterhouse five, mostly, but i had some quotes from i think breakfast of champions, player piano, and sirens of titan (and maybe some others, as well as some things he said in interviews etc) to support my thesis that it was an ongoing theme throughout his novels. mother night because it was sort of a more grounded in reality book where an american was working as a spy for the nazis, but he was high ranking and was going to be put to death and there was nothing he could do about it, and it raises the question that does it really matter what side he was ACTUALLY on if he carried out atrocities regardless. so there was like, an illusion of choice for what he did in the war but the outcome was the same no matter what he did, so that’s what the point was - i THINK, it’s been a while. slaughterhouse five, which if you’ve read any vonnegut you’ve probably read this so sorry if you already know this one, is about this guy who’s quote unquote unstuck in time. he basically relives his life over and over in a nonlinear fashion, going through traumatic events but unable to change them (like being kidnapped by aliens which is probably why it’s considered a scifi novel, which is funny, and living through the bombing of dresden again and again, which......isn’t). and yes, i recognize it’s a metaphor for ptsd, i’m not stupid, but being unable to change it and going a step further, living through his birth and death and whatever is in between and being unable to change anything kind of supported my thesis of ‘no free will in the vonnegut universe, only the illusion of free will’

ANYWAY. i was rewatching the monster at the end of this book last night, where they meet chuck (who spoiler alert, is god, but at this point is just like, a prophet who’s predicting the winchester brother’s life. it’s not important at the moment) and he says like, this new book is pretty vonnegut, and dean responds something like ‘cat’s cradle vonnegut or slaughterhouse five vonnegut?’ which is like. it’s one of those things to me is like if this was irl wouldn’t indicate much but considering it’s a network television show it’s an indication to me that he’s a vonnegut fan in universe canonically. that’s what it was signaling. you with me so far?

anyway. now. idk how familiar you are with supernatural, but free will is like, a HUGE concept in the show. there’s a whole arc where sam and dean are like, destined to become lucifer and michael’s vessels (again, not important right now) and they like, really don’t want to, so the concept of free will becomes like, A Thing. and on top of that, (spoilers i think for the last season i’m still a bit unclear on the plot a little) sam and dean like, kill chuck aka god. so like, there’s free will or something? sam and dean are moving on with their lives they get to live??? but then thay don’t because then the finale happens and dean dies, and he didn’t get to do anything but be a hunter and he wanted to get out of that life based on Various Things (again, not important here) which a lot of people are saying defies them having free will, one of the main themes of the entire show.

ANYWAY, the joke i made yesterday was basically because they namedropped vonnegut - an author i once wrote a 20 page research paper on how his works show a lack of free will - in chuck’s first ep (who i forgot to mention is also considered a kripke stand in), and dean’s a fan of vonnegut - and i cannot stress enough how much i was kidding the finale was Just Bad - that actually the writers were playing 8d chess and the finale was bad on purpose in this essay i will...but then i admitted that i’m just unironically a destiel truther now so it would devolve into The Finale Is Just Garbage regardless

GENERAL PERSONALITY: Maria is a flamboyant man who dons multiple faces, professionally. As an assassin, it is a requirement and as an actor, ve relishes in the experiences. However, Maria is much more of a transparent person than one might have expected from someone who largely took on undercover missions. Though most of vis traits went lost in translations when one cannot decipher the truth within the poker faces. Many would be in agreement however, that Maria is a confident man with enough charisma exuding a captivating and reliable presence. Maria has a largely romanticized view on life and lives keen to those of obsessed artists. Those more extreme traits came off as unnerving to many, when Maria could have the brightest of smiles during the darkest of times. Though it is theorized that perhaps Maria put on such a daunting act towards those ve did not like (or were neutral) to cause commotions knowing the negativity it sparks, out of boredom (and for amusements). In spite of the many unsavoury traits that might have suggested otherwise, Maria is a highly perspective person and can read the atmosphere well (expected of assassins), and knew of limits and boundaries. Though if ve might respect them however was a different story.

FAMILY

CHARLOTTE LINLIN

Maria appears to have no connections to her mother, having been raised by vis half-siblings, the snake-neck hybrid quadruplet sisters. Ve showed neither strong loyalty nor any hard feelings regarding Linlin, holding a neutral ground. Though it was noted that Maria (then Ganache) was a fairly obedient child, carrying out any missions provided with a precision of a natural born assassin. Thus was why Linlin quickly took a notice of ver and sent ver off to more outside and quite dangerous missions. It came as a surprise for the family when Maria had run away, easily so as ve had escaped during a mission, that most thought ver lost or dead not willingly run away. When questioned of vis thoughts on Linlin, Maria said she was an overgrown child, unworthy of many vis siblings' loyalties.

SIBLINGS

Unlike with Linlin, Maria is shown to be the closest to many of vis half-siblings and held memories of them together close to vis heart. Maria is the closest to the long-neck hybrid quadruplets sisters, seeing as ve was mainly raised by them. Ve was especially closed to Amande and Hacheé and took many of their traits as inspirations, be it their fashion or usage of long swords. Maria was also close to the eldest triplets brothers and the longled hybrid triplets sisters, having gone on many missions with them together and have had babysitted Chiffon and Lola for a short while alongside Brûlée. Charlotte Marble and Charlotte Raisin were the closest to what Maria felt to be parental love, though having only raised them till 2, ve left them each weapons, twin pistols and a swordstick, both of which were Maria's former weapons. During the while that Maria was reunited with both Chiffon and Lola, ve learnt of Pudding's existence and was seen distraughted at the thought that vis half-sister was only conceived into the family due to Maria's disappearance. Though both Chiffon and Lola argued that vis blindness might have resulted in Pudding had ve stayed.

FRIENDS

Dandelion Andersson

Dandelion, or Dante as Maria called them, is a long time friend and partner of ver, having first met during a joint assassination mission. They had been partners in crimes since. Little is a known about Dante as they hadn't been shown aside from a shadowed silhouette when Maria called them through the Den Den Mushi to apologise for standing up to their long-awaited date on Baratie as ve had a `slight errand` to get to and asked to meet back up at the newly rebuilt Dressrosa on a later date. Dente was understandably upset.

Maria was a former apprentice chef to owner Zeff, having served at Baratie for three years since its opening and had been a regular since. During the Whole Cake Island arc, having heard rumors of Germa soldiers arriving in East Blue while holding Sanji's `Only Alive` wanted poster, Maria took it upon verself to contact vis friend Dante and set up a date on Baratie for security measures. Maria left the Baratie before Dante could arrive however, seeing the World Economy Newspaper with a new goal of catching up to Sanji at long last, taking along with ver was a souvenir from Zeff and `well wishes` from other staffs for Sanji.

Maria saw Sanji in a little brother light, finding joy in teasing the flustered younger boy whom mistaken ver for a woman, ve had never corrected the misconception. During Whole Cake Island arc, Maria was seen holding Sanji's `Only Alive` poster while riding off to Baratie, reminiscing their memories to Zeff and the staffs. By the end of Levely arc, Maria sailed away from Baratie with a souvenir from Zeff to catch up with Sanji after having read the World Economy Newspaper.

I would say thailand is pretty accepting of the lgbtq+ community, especially younger people (which tends to be the case for pretty much every country.) people are easily openly queer & trans, and while there is for sure some discrimination, be it the same-gender marriage bill STILL getting blocked before it gets passed for like the fifth year in a row, or simply an "othering" of queer people by some forms of micro-aggressions, I personally have never seen or heard about it from me & my entourage.

thai culture irl is surprisingly very realistically depicted in thai dramas. people really do bring home food they bought from food stalls, they often go on spontaneous beach weekends, etc. I feel like thai dramas are some of the most realistic media depicting their own culture in the world. not saying everything is realistic bc it's definitely not, but in general the cultural aspects are on point!

bl actors are MORE popular in thailand than they are globally, as I'm sure you don't see bl actors in ads outside of thailand or perhaps asia, whereas their influence is way more obvious in thailand through ads or fan projects that are extremely numerous.

I honestly didn't really notice any notable difference between thai dramas vs reality. except maybe that no hot thai dude caught me in slow motion when I fell but oh well :')))

bl has become extremely democratized in the past couple of years, and will continue down this path more & more as years pass. everyone in thailand is surely aware of bl, and it's very common to meet younger people who watch it. for older people, I didn't get to talk much with them so I don't know but I have a feeling there's less bl fans in that demographic from going to events & concerts, it's mostly between 15 & 30.

I didn't really notice any significant change in the bl industry during my stay tbh. there were some bl actors I saw more of at certain moments when an ad campaign was rolled out, but that's kinda it; mostly bc the bl industry has been pretty stagnant in the past year.

the bl industry is quite prevalent; if you walk in a book store, you'll surely see a main "bl books" shelf full of novels that are being adapted on tv at the moment. moreover, it's been fun to meet a new thai friend and tell them I love not me & off jumpol and hear them reply "oh I saw not me trend a lot on twitter" & "oh I know him, he's so handsome." I've heard these replies a lot & it always made my day :)

I didn't have that many friends that were bl fans, and none that are as into the fandom as me, but the shows I've discussed with thai friends are mostly kinnporsche & not me, as they seem to have shaken social media quite a lot.

well, I encountered the events I went to haha, be it paid ones like the lol fanfest concert, the my precious movie premiere or the beluca concert, & mall events like the off coach siam paragon event and the offgun lancome park paragon event. if you're asking me if there's a lot of bl events, there are, but I feel like it'd be pretty hard to stumble onto them & you have to be aware of them from social media first.

the experience watching bl actors up close? absolutely unreal but also kinda... normal? like weirdly enough, I've watched these actors for so long I kinda already know what they look like from every angle, what they sound like, etc. so it's not THAT off putting, but on the other hand seeing people from a country halfway around the world from mine, that I only thought I would ever see in 2d, in front of me... is insane to me. the craziest thing really was seeing off a meter away from me in my second week ever in thailand & having him look straight at me, like... forever the highlight of my entire life LMAO

bl intersects with every sector of the entertainment industry; billkin & pp are two of the biggest thai singers solely from their success in itsay, and now zee & nunew are trying (and frankly succeeding) to do the same thing. we have all seen how many fashion covers & events off jumpol has done even just in the past 5 months. most of the lucrative fan events are also bl related, as I frankly haven't seen a straight fanmeet apart from the mewmild one which comes from mew's success as a bl actor & mild's success from being in many queer projects & many pairings with popular bl actors. we even can see it in bl shows themselves, that marketing & advertising agencies are betting more & more on bl actors, which make them the number one safe investment for agencies atm.

I didn't witness a change in thai society from bl personally bc I arrived after bl had been airing for 9 years at that point, but it is certain that bl has broadened the horizon of many people, & having so many queer-coded "couples" on every ad, event & series does definitely make queerness more socially acceptable overall.

I didn't observe any controversy or debate about bl series while in thailand, mostly bc I barely talked or engaged about bl irl bc I find it awkward lol

bl series are as accessible to the thai public as for inter fans, except they don't need to wait for eng subs & also can see the eps on tv.

I would rate my experience of living in thailand 10/10 overall, and as a bl fan a 1000/10 bc I got to do everything I never could in france in terms of fan stuff. also catching bl shows that air at 8:30pm... actually at that time is so much easier than when it airs in the middle of the fucking afternoon ;_;

living in thailand didn't change much about how I view bl, but it made me realize that it doesn't really matter much how many inter fans you have, or whether or not your show is the most popular. if your series is decently popular, with the right management you should be able to kickstart a huge career in thailand & get every fucking ad and events you can bc that's what truly makes money. do that shit for 5 years, invest some of it, retire rich & famous. if I was a hot thai guy that's what I'd do :')))

Well from your recent posts I've gathered that you are not a Big (with a capital B yes) fan of A Boss and a Babe so it's probly safe to say this . The reason i haven't watched this series is bcz I find the leads eerily similar looking?? Like if not siblings but atleast like distant cousins ??? Idk why but i can't unsee it now. Help .

Oh I don't think they look alike at all. Sorry, I don't know how to help you.

Maybe focus on specific features? Think of it like you were sketching them as a portrait artist? Like they have different mouth shape, eye shape/placement, cheekbones, and hair lines. Force (left) has a thinner straighter mouth more sculpted, slightly higher more prominent cheekbones, much heavier lidded eyes (he looks sultry and sleepy most of the time), slightly broader nose, longer face over all, and a prominent Adam's apple.

Book (right) has more delicate and finer features, his face is more heart-shaped and proportions are different (where his features fall on his face), smaller slightly pouty mouth, thinner nose, slightly rounder cheeks, close but less deep-set eyes. He's also lighter skinned. For all these reasons he's cast as the uke in their shows, as they are pretty much the same height, age (Book is actually a little older), and deferential politeness IRL, it could have gone either way.

If you're still struggling, there could be more/other reasons for this.

There is something called the Cross-race effect which may be impacting you. (The way to train your brain out of this one is to just keep watching tons of dramas, fashion, MVs made by cultures not your own. More info and discussion on this in this episode of All in the Mind podcast: The human drive to connect – and divide)

There's also Prosopagnosia to consider, although that's a lot rarer than modern peeps make it out to be.

I've also always felt like Dunbar's number may come into play with this kind of thing too. Like perhaps the human brain just has a limited max capacity for facial recognition storage.

So you might do better if you focus on their mannerisms and way of speaking which are completely different. (Siblings usually share vocality and mannerisms especially if they were raised together.) Body language and their way of holding themselves, smiles, eye crinkles, use of eyebrows, etc... Very few actors can move on from these tells.

Book has a more mobile face (which is why he suits comedy so well) but Force's is more emotive and expressive in nuance. He's uses more micro-movements, like little eye crinkles and a little crooked smile.

Their voices are very similar, but Force's is more burred, and a little more monotone (rare in Thai). He has a mellow soft way of speaking especially around the ubiquitous krap. Book has a rounder, wetter way of speaking, his kraps are more sharp and clipped.

All that said, IMHO you don't have to bother to watch either of ForceBook's series. So far this pair has been ill served by GMMTV. So if it wigs you out, there is plenty other, better BL.

Also if you want to actually watch a BL where the characters are some iteration of siblings, I'm sure Japan is there for you. If not, there's always the stepbrothers trope...

I have to say, I tend to way MORE annoyed when characters in a show who are meant to be siblings look absolutely nothing alike. Like bone-structure level "qua?" I know blood siblings don't always look alike, but they rarely look so completely different as we often get in TV or film the world over.

Way back, I did a series of actors in BL who I thought SHOULD play brothers and these are my favorites:

Mark Siwat Jumlongkul and War Wanarat Ratsameerat.

Now those two boys look related. To me, anyway.

Started on piano as a wee one, got good at it. Added flute and piccolo, got good at it, played semi-competitively at local/state events in high school. Added clarinet. Added viola and played that in college orchestra because it was the one thing I could get INTO orchestra on because they didn’t audition on it. Also own/play to varying degrees of skill or incompetence: pennywhistles, soprano recorder, khloy (Cambodian flute), khene (Southeast Asian pipe instrument), tro (Cambodian spiked fiddle), tro ou (Cambodian spiked fiddle), dizi (Chinese flute), shakuhachi, ukulele, guitar, fiddle, Irish flute, harmonica, didgeridoo, shit why do I feel like I’m forgetting some things. Uhhhhhh... in college I played some taiko, shamisen, and shinobue too? I dunno, just chuck a woodwind or a string instrument at me, and I’ll figure something out. Won’t necessarily be pleasant but there’ll be notes.

what i’m wearing: red pajamas. They have snowflakes on them. they are warm and comfy.

dream job: I know it’s hard work as hell, believe me, my fam’s been in it, but seriously? transitioning to agricultural work. bi-ish weekly update

time sure passes huh. meant to do one last week but I wrote like 5000 words on Wednesday instead, and I’m not really sure what happened yesterday but maybe Thursday is my new day for these

listening: two for the price of one this week since I’m excited about both of them. first of all, obviously, is the Sangfielle theme by Jack de Quidt because it’s time for a new season of Friends at the Table. I love their description of this season’s music

the other thing I’ve been listening to is the new album from one of my fave bands, You’re Welcome from A Day to Remember. this is by far not the most musically interesting or complex song on the album but it is about, as far as I can tell, a bad breakup with a vampire and I love it for that just on principle, but also it’s fun! a fun pop punk-esque bop about breaking up with a vampire!

reading: since last time when I talked about many romance novels I was reading, I mostly just read more romance novels because sometimes that is all the brain can handle. shout out to KJ Charles for writing a historical romance with a nonbinary main characters, you really do love to see it. I appreciate that she puts trans characters in her books, and I hope that someday she writes one with a trans man as a main character, because that truly would be a book targeted directly at me.

I’ve also been reading the Kate Kane, Paranormal Investigator series by Alexis Hall (author of Affair of the Mysterious Letter, a weird fantasy queer Sherlock Holmes retelling that absolutely fucking slaps, highly recommend).

this is his author bio from the Kate Kane books, which really just sets the tone and also. what a fucking life goal

anyway. series starts with Iron & Velvet which is currently on sale, which is why I bought it, and it also fucking slaps. I’m like halfway through the last book right now but they have all been good and fun. Kate is like. archetypal disaster p.i. but done in an interesting way (i.e. the narrative actually addresses the depression and the alcoholism in a way that I personally really appreciated), and also pretty much every woman in the ~supernatural community she encounters is an ex or someone she will flirt/hook up with at some point, which is an accurate representation of every irl queer space I’ve ever been part of. she dates a vampire for a while. hot morally questionable vampire lady. the vampire power structure names positions after tarot cards it’s very fun and sexy and tailored specifically toward my interests. also she lives in the same part of London as my ex-girlfriend so it’s. fun to recognize place names and be like. oh I went there on a date once huh

watching: started watching Turn A Gundam because a twitter friend recommended it as being fun and also very different then any other Gundam series and they were right on both counts. the premise of it is ‘what if a bunch of people went to live on the moon and some people stayed on earth, the moon people got real into super advanced technology and the earth people are larping the 19th century, and now the moon people want to come back’ so there’s a fun mix of visual styles. would love to see serious analytical writing on this show by someone more versed in discussing indigeneity/colonialism than me though because there are things that I’m a little bit hmmm at but I don’t know enough to be able to explain why or know if that’s the right response to have

don’t know what’s up with the dude on the left’s sunglasses but my friend has promised me the fashion choices only get weirder

I know about the ‘wow cool robots’ meme but some of the mech designs are very cool and visually distinct both from each other and from the standard blocky humanoid shape that lots of mechs are, so that’s fun to see. and they’re all different sizes too, which for me at least makes it easier to get a sense of the scale of the conflict/threat. when they’re all the same size it’s easy for me to forget they’re like 40 feet tall but when some of them are 40 feet and some of them are like 10 feet it’s a lot easier to be like. oh. oh shit. these are big and destructive and scary as hell

also there’s some fun stuff about how the way society relates to a mech and what a mech is used for can change over time, which is part of what is maybe inspiring me to get back into trying to write games, because between Turn A and the fic I was writing about Integrity Friendsatthetable I was like. hey what if a hack of The Ground Itself by Everest Pipkin, a game about a place changing over time, except instead of a place it’s a mech

playing: finished Knife of Dunwall finally! please clap! I was kinda half-expecting not to keep to low chaos in the last mission because there are so many overseers but I did it! I did do a bunch of accidentally getting into fights, killing a bunch of people, and then reloading an earlier save so I could go back and not kill those people but it’s fine. anyway. fun game, fun level once I got the hang of it, and I do feel like I accomplished something a lil bit difficult so that’s a nice feeling. definitely harder than the main game. also, very sad about Billie and gay for Delilah. she shows up just to threaten you and then disappears again, and I think that’s pretty hot of her. also love the narrative parallels of having the choice to spare Billie and then the game ending with Corvo about to decide whether to spare Daud or not. I just think that’s neat

making: made some Thai green curry last week from this recipe, which was tasty and not too hard to make, but has just enough specialty ingredients to make it a lil bit too expensive to make too often. our grocery store only ever has lemongrass when we’re looking for things that look kinda like lemongrass but aren’t, and didn’t have any when we need it so we just used extra lemongrass paste and lime juice for the lemongrass, and for the kaffir lime leaves, which we were also supposed to substitute with lemongrass but. it’s fine it was still tasty

writing: a lot somehow, although it’s been over two weeks since last time I did one of these so I guess that makes sense. I wrote a couple of things for 15 Days of Friends at the Table, including Broun, Milli, and Thisbe cottagecore roommates, Clem and Gucci bickering/flirting, and an extended dream sequence that makes me very sad about Integrity (I’m very proud of the last one, I know it has a very small target audience because Sokrates/Integrity is very much a rarepair in an already small fandom, there are 6 works in the tag, 4 of them are by me, 2 of them are by the same other person, and one of those is a gift for me so. it’s mostly just me, but I think I wrote something pretty good)

also meant to write more for Persona 5 Girls Week, although so far I’ve only written one thing, a quick fluff fic which for once requires very little knowledge of the source material. meant to write something for today’s prompt but instead I had two job interviews and then cooked dinner for my household so that probably will not happen and I will probably watch more Gundam instead

Rant post under the cut!! I just need to write my thoughts now. I want to keep my blog with happy thoughts so yeah, please ignore this because it’s something really dumb xDDD

These days are being so extremely stressing lately, to the point I just want to ignore everyone irl. My friends have turned to be... let us say not as nice friends as I believed they were. I mean, I can’t blame them for classifying me as a “2nd rank friend” but it feels a bit painful. It’s not the first time people I believe to be my friends just... ignore me? It’s not exactly that, but I feel like they definitely see me as not good enough. “Yeah, sure, whatever you say there’s now way I’m doing thay even if you ask me too. But if Y friend were to ask me I would totally do it!!” “Yeah, we didn’t ask you to go out with us because we know you aren’t really into going out” Or things like just. Idk. Ignoring me when I talking with them, using their phone so they don’t have to talk with me.

Well, everyone has their problems so I’m sure they are going through some rough stuff like they always do and I need to do my best to support them. I mean, feeling bad for this isn’t going to help neither me or them, so I have to continue being possitive!! I want to be a good influence for everyone around me but sometimes it’s... hard. But I need to keep trying!!

Anyways! The thing I’m stressed the most about it’s actually the dumbest thing ever. Everyone in my year decided to go out and celebrate that we finally finished this year and have dinner together tomorrow. Thing is, we’re supposed to kind of... dress up. I mean, it’s not like we’re going to a wedding or something like that but. No jeans allowed. Which kinda invalidates 100% of my wardrobe.

I don’t own a single dress or skirt. And there are two very stupid reasons for it. First it’s that I’m very... chubby. So I feel really ugly when I wear “girly” clothes (dresses and skirts). I think they aren’t made for me. Don’t get me wrong though: I’ve seen people from all sizes rocking super lovely dresses and looking like queens but I can’t. I wish I could though.

There’s also the fact that I have real trouble finding clothes my size... and I’ve actually lost weight this year. Guess people in the fashion industry don’t care for anyone with a size higher than a, what, a S? And I’m around a XXL, really hard to find here. I’ve been trying to lose more weight but genetics are hard to ignore. I also have really wide hips and thighs which is a serious problem for jeans and things like that. And I also have the widest shoulders ever ahahaha

I have a very good relationship with most of my classmates and I feel like all the girls are super SUPER cute. And like I truly mean it, they’re all sweetie pies who are super nice, mostly! And I’ve been talking with them and they’re even going to the hairdresser and buying new clothes for tomorrow, things like that.

It has somehow made me feel super depressed about my body again. I know it’s dumb and I know I should love my body and myself because your looks don’t define how you are but I... for once would like to feel cute and wear whatever I want without people judging me. Because sadly, it happens. A lot.

There’s also the fact that I should probably do my makeup to try and look a bit better but I don’t even know how to do that. I’m probably the only girl in this area that doesn’t wear makeup and doesn’t even know how to apply eyeliner hahaha Plus I only own the very, very basics...

Anyways, now I’m conflicted whether I should go or no to the dinner because A) I don’t want everyone to look at me because I’m ugly, B) I haven’t got anything to wear and there isn’t time for me to go shopping and C). I promised my best (male) friend that I would totally go with him, no matter what. He has been the sweetest angel with me for the last three years and has helped me so much in a lot of ways, so this is my way of saying “thank you for loving me”.

It’s probably going to sound a bit shocking but I don’t go out at all. My “friends” (the ones I mentioned an the beginning) go out every weekend but never invite me, so...

Well, I was really looking forward to this dinner with everyone because it’s really, really special this time but I don’t think I’ll go. I just hope I don’t disappoint my friend because it’s the last thing he deserves for being the nicest guy ever. And I’m going to lose money because I had paid already ahahaha

Anyways, Kuu out. Thanks to whoever read this lol
