Duncan’s Good Reputation?
Inspo credit and mad love to @stuckupwindbag your post about Duncan’s first PO becoming a monk totally inspired this. Then it turned into a 5+1 cause I’m a sucker for those things.
One-
Oddly enough, Courtney first finds it through a letter. She hadn’t meant to be snooping, but with their relationship beginning again, trust was a touchy subject. She can just hear her mother’s voice- “once a cheater always a cheater hun, don’t ever forget that.'' To be fair, he left the open letter in plain view. It was just sitting on top of his kitchen counter close to where she placed her car keys. She was only looking for her keys when she accidently ended up glancing at the letter. It was handwritten. She would only skim it.
Duncan,
Nice to hear from you personally instead of through your new parole officer asking for advice. Glad to see that you’re out of trouble nowadays. I always knew you had a golden heart. Speaking of advice, I gave you some that I know you took- Congrats on the outcome - I finally did listen to my heart as well. After some traveling I found my place on a mountain on a little island. I’m finally at peace and I’m happy. Never thought I would say this, but thanks for getting in trouble all those years ago. I wouldn’t be on top of the world if it wasn’t for you.

“Hey Princess, did you find your keys?”
She jumps as the voice and moves as far away from the counter. If he noticed she was acting weird, he didn’t say anything about it. Instead, he picks up her keys then tosses it to her. He smiles as he sees the letter.
“Thanks… I guess I’ll see you tomorrow morning?”
“Is it cool if we meet for an early lunch instead? I gotta mail David back.”
“You mean brunch? Sure… who’s David again?”
“Brunch is for pansies. He’s my old parole officer. Dude just became a monk, go figure.”
Confusion was written all over her face as she chose to ignore his brunch statement. She waits to see if he’ll elaborate, and surprisingly, he does.
“We met the first time I got out of juvie, he was meant to be a mentor to me sorta. It didn’t work out that way. I kept getting into trouble and he tried to help, but he couldn’t because of protocol. I didn’t really care, but it bothered the hell out of him. Right before I left for Island, I told him to quit his job and do some soul searching since he was so unhappy. Besides, I figured I’d win and I wouldn’t need him anymore. Guess he finally found his calling.”
Duncan shrugs it off like it’s no big deal, but Courtney knows there’s more to the story he’s not telling her. She doesn’t push for the details, just happily accepts that he opened up about a piece of his past.
Two-
She almost loses it when she finds him repeatedly liking the same girl’s post on Instagram. She decides to get information before confronting him. When she finds out the girl was an ex she was ready to kill him, until she reads through the comments. The first picture is of a selfish of this gorgeous blonde with blue eyes. The caption read: Your fav girl is back, and this time with a new username!

Even though she was no longer jealous, she still wanted to make sure her assumptions were correct.
“Duncan, who’s Ashley?”
He doesn’t even flinch, a good sign since he all but jumped away when she confronted him about Gwen way back.
“She’s an ex girlfriend of mine. My first girlfriend actually.”
“Oh…”
“Don’t worry Princess, I’m not carrying a torch for her. Besides, she has a girlfriend now.”
“You’re not just saying that right?”
“No? That’s a dumb thing to lie about. If you met her, you would know. She’d hit on you instantly.”
“But you just said she has a girlfriend.”
“Her girl would probably hit on you too. You’re fucking gorgeous Court.”
She feels her cheeks warm up at his compliment. She still wasn’t used to him being sweet again, so she shrugs it off.
“Stop changing the subject.”
“Just being honest. Anyways, you just reminded me to reply to her message.”
“You still message each other?”
“Every now and then… She says hi… shit and now she’s FaceTiming.”
“Dunkie! Let me talk to your princess! I know she’s there!”
“No! I always knew you would try and steal my girlfriend after having your heart broken by me.”
“As if. You were the one left heartbroken after I came out to you.”
“Yeah yeah, whatever.”
“Okay, but for real. Thanks dude! I can finally be me now. It’s officially! Your fav girl is out and proud! Mom took it better than I thought and she’s going to meet Dana on Monday!”
“Told you she would accept you. Your mom loves you.”
“I know, thanks for listening though.”
“Anything for my first girlfriend.”
“Careful, I might actually hold you to that! I gotta go, but double date soon?”
“You live in London!”
“So? Okay I really gotta go! Bye Dunkie! Tell your princess I said hi!”
Ashley hangs up on the call leaving Duncan slightly annoyed, but not really. He was about to apologize to Courtney, but she stops him. There was no need, besides the pizza was getting cold.
Three-
If being on a reality show taught Courtney anything was that she shouldn’t be surprised at anything. Still, she was caught off guard when she bumped into Chef Hatchet on her daily run through the park. She was even more thrown off when she sees that he’s not alone. He had six kids with him. He lets them take their hands off the walking rope as long as they promise to stay within the playground. The children all nodded yes then ran off towards the slides and swings.
“Courtney? Is that you?”
“Chef? What are you doing here?”
“Just taking the daycare kids on an outing. They’re repairing our playground, so I thought it would be nice to take the kids to the park.”
“Daycare kids?”
“Yeah! I’m a daycare teacher now.”
She must be in an alternate reality, there’s no way Chef Hatchet could be around children voluntarily. Especially with half the shit he helped pull on Total Drama, no sane person would hire the man.
“I can see you’re confused, but this is my true calling!”
“No offense Chef, but are you okay? Do I need to take you to the hospital?”
“I’m perfectly fine, Courtney. I thought Duncan would have told you already.”
“Duncan?”
“Yeah, he was the one to convince me I needed to do something different.”
“Wait, Duncan told you to quit and you actually listened?”
“He gives pretty good advice, that kid’s a good listener. I’ve never been happier.”
“What exactly did he say to you?”
“Just that even I deserve to be happy and to give it a chance.”
One of the kids starts crying and Chef is immediately on the move. It’s a strange sight, but Chef is extremely patient with the child and soon the little one is off running again. Who would have thought?
Four-
Courtney was ready to go grab her second cup of coffee when her phone buzzes. It was a text from Heather. She was going to ignore it until she saw that her boyfriend’s name was mentioned.
Heather: I just wanted to say I’m sorry. Pass that message to Duncan. He still has my number blocked.
Courtney: How do you even have my number? Also why were you texting Duncan?
Heather: Your boyfriend’s the one who gave it to me. Also that’s none of your business.
Courtney: You made it my business when you texted me. What did you do?
Heather: I didn’t do anything… okay fine I bitched him out for being nosy.
Courtney: Um… what?
Heather: He was butting in on my relationship with Alejandro again.
Courtney: Are you sure we're talking about the same Duncan?
Heather: Okay fine. I may have bothered him about my relationship.
Courtney: … and why would you do that?
Heather: He’s honest and he’s not afraid to tell it to my face even if he knows I’ll get angry.
Heather: Look, just tell him I’m sorry and that Alejandro and I are okay now.
Duncan picks her up after work and she immediately wants to bring up the messages. She waits until they’re back at her place to say anything.
“How was work Princess?”
“Fine… um… so Heather says she’s sorry?”
He raises an eyebrow at that. He wasn’t expecting that either apparently.
“I told her to only talk to you in case of emergencies. I should have never given her your number, sorry Court.”
“Normally I would be angry, but I’m just curious now.”
“Heather’s been picking fights with Alejandro because she’s afraid of commitment. She found out we got back together, so she asked me how we did it. I told her that she was being stupid and that he clearly loves her. Somehow I end up listening to her break up and get back together with him only to break up again. This was only last month too.”
“Well, I guess they’re back together again. She told me I should tell you that too. Is that why you blocked her? Cause she was being too annoying?”
“No. She obviously loves the guy, she just needed someone to slap some sense into her. I’m surprised she apologized though.”
“Me too, guess she’s really changed. Are you going to unblock her? I think she genuinely feels bad.”
“She should after what she said.”
Courtney waits patiently to see if he would tell her, and just like last time, he does. There were no secrets between the two. Duncan just had a bad habit of forgetting to tell her things that he didn’t think was important.
“She said some shit about you and I got pissed.”
“Typical. Well I don’t care what she thinks. I can’t believe she would talk about me and expect me to help her.”
Her phone buzzes and she can’t help but roll her eyes at the message. It was from Heather again, unbelievable.
Heather: By the way, you’re both invited to my engagement party.
Five-
Courtney learned long ago that she could only count on herself. She learned that the hard way after she started drifting apart from her sister and her parents were no help. Admittedly, part of it is her fault too. They were always interested in different things, it was hard to find common ground.
Things started to change on her birthday. She gets a call from Cate and maybe it’s because they’re older now, but they reconnect. She’s grateful that she at least has one family member she can count on.
The two sisters become inseparable and they tell each other everything. Today was no different.
“I can’t stand him sometimes, but I love him.”
“He’s a good guy Court. You know, I still haven’t thanked him yet.”
“Thank him for what?”
“For bringing us together.”
“What are you going on about Cate?”
“While mom and dad were going through their divorce he reached out to me and asked how I was doing. He told me that you didn’t take it very well and he suggested that we talk about it. I put it off for months. I didn’t know what to say, but then it was your birthday and I knew this was my chance to say something without it being totally awkward. Now here we are.”
“He did that?”
“He did. He really loves you big sis. You picked a good one.”
She smiles at that. It’s true. She didn’t fall for a bad boy after all.
A bonus-
She used to think he ruined her life, turns out he made it so much better. Well, until now.
She almost hangs up at him when she got the phone call. The only reason she didn’t is because her stupid heart told her she still loves him. She really should’ve expected this. He went to juvie, he had a record, why wouldn’t he end up in jail again?
“Princess are you still there?”
“You wanna tell me why you’re locked up? Again!”
“How was I supposed to know I wasn’t allowed to walk inside?”
“The door was locked and it was someone else’s home!”
“Well they need a better security system, that was way too easy.”
“I’m going to hang up on you.”
“Wait! I’m kidding. Sorry, can you please just come bail me out.”
“I’ll think about it.”
She hangs up the phone then screams into the closest throw pillow. It was supposed to be their date night and now her date was in jail. He is never going to hear the end of this once she bails him out. She was all dressed up and now she was going to waste it by going to a detention center.
She was still fuming as she gave the address to the Uber driver. She didn’t even notice that she had arrived until the driver told her so. Except she was definitely not where she needed to be. She was in a neighborhood with nice houses up and down the block. Duncan must’ve given her the address of the house he broke into instead. Great. She was just about to figure out how to call Duncan back when the phone rings again.
“Are you here yet Princess?”
“I thought you only get one phone call.”
“I took another guy’s turn. Where are you at?”
“I’m at the house you tried to break into. You gave me the wrong address!”
“Shit. Sorry, it’s right down the street. Just cut across the park and you should be there.”
“You’re in so much trouble when I get there!”
She had to take a deep breath and calm herself before she started walking. He is so lucky she loves him.
When she enters the park, bright lights catch her attention. She wants to look away, but the path is along the lights. She stops when she reaches the bridge. There he was standing in the middle smiling at her. She heads toward him already asking a bunch of questions, but he doesn’t answer any of it. Instead he pulls her close and kisses her. When her eyes open he’s kneeling on the ground with a ring.
“Courtney, I love you. You’re my favorite girl and I know that everything that happened in my past lead me to you. I know I can be myself around you and still be accepted. We have our ups and downs, and I know I don’t deserve you, but I love you. There’s no one else I can count on without fear of judgement. You’re my princess, marry me?”
“Yes! Of course it’s a yes! I love you too and that’s all that matters.”
She brings him up to kiss him again then he slips the ring on her finger. It fit perfectly.
“You know, you really had me worried.”
“I’m not dumb enough to get caught. I left that life behind me anyways.”
“No, not that. I was worried that you were going to lose your good reputation.”
“Did I scare you that badly? My reputation is anything but good Court.”
“Oh I don’t know Dunkie, I think there are a few people who would say otherwise.”
A/N- There probably could’ve been a better title... anyways, 5 times Courtney finds out Duncan changes someone’s life for the better and the one time he changes her life for the better. (Alternatively you can say that she changes his life for the bonus as well).

The “Thank U, Next” singer is covered in tributes to her dogs, celestial designs, Harry Potter references, song lyrics and more designs, many of which were done by her go-to tattoo artist Girl Knew York.

Family
“Bellissima” and “Babydoll”
She has “Bellissima” and “Babydoll” — both nicknames given to Grande by her late grandfather, Frank — on her ribs and middle finger, respectively.
561
Ariana inked 561, the area code for Boca Raton, Florida, where she grew up, on her thumb.
Hebrew letters
Instagram
On another finger, Ariana has the Hebrew letters aleph, lamed and daled, which signify the 10th name in the 72 names of God, a Kabbalah teaching. Her brother Frankie Grande got a similar design at the same time; the two abandoned Catholicism in favor of the Judaism-based faith after learning about the Church’s stance against homosexuality.
Toulouse
One of the many cast of characters in the Grande family is her dog Toulouse. The pup is so important to the singer that she had her name added to her tattoo glove.
Celestial and Nature
Sun, Moon and Stars
In December 2018, the pop star celebrated being named Billboard’s 2018 Woman of the Year by getting a hand tattoo just after the awards show, during which she pronounced 2018 the best year of her career but the worst of her personal life. The celestial design of a sun, moon and stars covers the back of the singer’s left hand; her grandmother Marjorie “Nonna” Grande even joined for the session, getting “Ciccio” (the Italian nickname for her late husband) tattooed on her finger.
Saturn
In November 2019, she added a Saturn to the planets on the back of her hand.
Crescent Moon and Stars
In November 2018, she added a crescent moon and stars on her left foot. She has another crescent moon on the left side of her neck, which was a reference to her song “Moonlight” off her third album, “Dangerous Woman.”

Covering up a Harry Potter-related “9 3/4” tattoo for unknown reasons, Grande now sports a vine around her index finger.
Butterflies
At the 2020 Grammys, Grande shut the red carpet down in an oversized Giambattista Valli blue dress exploding in layers of tulle and ruffles. Above her opera-length gloves, she debuted new butterfly tattoo on her upper arm. A few months later, Ari added a second butterfly just underneath.

On Ariana’s birthday in June 2020, friend Markell Malcolm posted a photo revealing a flower design on the star’s palm. It can also be seen in her new “Positions” music video and appears to be a sakura flower.

On Aug. 29, 2018, she revealed a large tattoo of Chihiro, a character from “Spirited Away,” on the inside of her right arm. “Chihiro’s growth into a capable individual is a core factor to the movement of Spirited Away‘s plot,” Grande wrote on her Instagram Story at the time. “During her adventure in the Spirit World, she matures from an easily-scared girl with a child-like personality to match her age to a hard-working, responsible and brave young girl who has learned to put her fears aside for those she cares for.”
In perhaps the most telling line, Grande also wrote: “To protect her friends and rescue her parents from a spell that has turned them into livestock, Chihiro sheds her former personality and adapts to her environment to become a courageous, quick-witted and reliable girl.”

Ariana is obsessed with “Harry Potter.” She has the word “Lumos” (a light-conjuring spell from the book series) inked on her hand.
Truman Show Quote

On June 20, 2019, Ariana cemented her love of Jim Carrey with a quote from ���The Truman Show” on the back of her left shoulder, written upside down. It reads, “In case I don’t see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight!”

“Let’s Sing”
She rang in 2019 by getting the words “let’s sing” inked in Japanese just above her elbow, which revealed her plan to release even more music — even though her album “Sweetener” only dropped in August. Later, her “Thank U, Next” album release shocked the world one month later.

In a nod to her “Sweetener” track of the same name, Ariana has the dreamy letters inked behind her ear.

“7 Rings”/ Japanese BBQ Grill

What was intended to be an ode to her single turned out to be a nightmare for Grande. In early 2019, Ariana showed off a painful hand tattoo of Japanese kanji letters that was meant to translate to “7 Rings.” However, social media immediately blew up when native speakers realized that because of the placement of the characters, the actual translation added up to “Japanese BBQ grill” or “tiny charcoal grill” in English. Grande went back to her artist more than once to fix the error, adding a heart to round out the design and correct its meaning. The intended message is only clear if you read (uncustomarily) from top to bottom then left to right.
She tweeted (and later deleted) a rant at the end of the controversy. “I can’t read or write kanji obviously. what do you want me to do? it was done out of love and appreciation. what do you want me to say?” She continued, “u kno how many people make this mistake and DON’T care just cause they like how it looks? bruh … i care soooo much. what would you like me to do or say? forreal.”
SWT
In December 2019, at the culmination of her “Sweetener/Thank U, Next” world tour, Grande and her team got matching tattoos on their hands to commemorate the experience. While Ariana chose the shortened “SWT,” others got dates and numbers with unclear significance.
Pete Davidson tattoos
H2GKMO, Reborn, Cloud hand tattoos
While dating Pete Davidson, Grande and her former fiancé showed their love for one another with multiple matching tattoos. The pair both got the acronym “H2GKMO” — which means “honest to god knock me out” — and the word “REBORN” on the side of their hands, along with matching cloud tattoos.
Always
Grande has the word “always” across her rib cage in what appears to be the “SNL” star’s handwriting, which is a reference to Lily Potter and Severus Snape’s love story in “Harry Potter.”

She had the numbers 8418 (the badge number of the comedian’s firefighter father, who died on September 11) added across the top of her left ankle in June 2018.

She also got “Pete” tattooed across her left ring finger.
Post-breakup cover-ups

In the days following their split, Grande and Davidson both went to work covering up or altering their matching ink. Grande covered the hand tats with a floral olive branch leaf. She also replaced the late Mr. Davidson’s badge number with “Myron,” the name of her dog, whom she co-adopted with ex-boyfriend Mac Miller and who now lives with her full-time following the rapper’s death.
After Grande released her “Thank U, Next,” music video, fans also noticed that she’d inked a black heart over her “Pete” finger tattoo. It is unclear whether she has altered (or plans to alter) her cloud tattoo.
In March 2019, Grande evolved her “always” tattoo by adding a creeping leaf design horizontally across her rib cage.

Lightning bolt and black heart
Behind her ear, the pop star has three small tattoos — R.E.M, a tiny black heart (which Pete Davidson’s rep told Page Six he later copied) and a lightning bolt, likely a reference to “Harry Potter.”
“Mille Tendresse”
Her second tattoo was the French phrase “mille tendresse,” a line from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” which Davidson also copied.

Manchester Bee
Perhaps the most meaningful tattoo in Grande’s collection is the bee behind her left ear. She got the ink as a tribute to the 22 people who were killed during the May 22, 2017 terrorist attack at her “Dangerous Woman” concert. The symbol of Manchester, England, where the concert took place, is the worker bee; Grande hosted the One Love Manchester benefit concert two weeks after the attack, and later posted an emoji of the insect when she was made an honorary citizen of the city. She debuted the ink two days after the one-year anniversary of the attack.
Hi
Not all of her ink has such significance: Grande has the word “hi” on her toe.
Court
In dedication to childhood friend Courtney Chipolone, Ariana inked the word “court” on her knee as a play on words.

She also has the letter “A” on her thumb to honor friend Alexa Luria.
Heart
The outline of a heart on her right ring finger — which matches the one on her toe — is just one of many hand tattoos.
Baby
In May 2020, eagle-eyed fans spotted the word “baby” near the butterflies on Ariana’s upper arm, though it’s unknown when she had it inked.
Mystery tattoos
As if more than 40 separate tattoos in 2020 weren’t enough, there are a scant few that fans have only partially glimpsed. There are words on the inside of her right index finger, an unfilled shape on the inside of her left ankle and a string of letters (or perhaps words) on her upper left thigh that are unaccounted for.
And considering Grande’s penchant for spur-of-the-moment ink, it’s possible the singer has plenty of other hidden designs — and likely that more are on the way.

Convenient Denial Ch. 1 (Biadore) - Valencia
AN: FINALLY IT ME, THE BIADORE HOLIDAY FIC <3 I’m sorry it’s taken so long, it’s my first time writing fanfic so please let me know how I’m doing - I’d love to get any feedback/constructive criticism :)) The next two chapters are going to be super smutty with a sprinkling of angst/fluff and I think it’ll probably be around 4-5 chapters in total (I might write a pure fluff epilogue as well to finish it off depending on if you guys like it)

Blurb: Roy is convinced the only reason why he misses Danny so much is because they’re such good friends - nothing more, nothing less. Danny is supposedly well over the silly crush he used to have on Roy back in Season 6. As they go on holiday together, feelings surface that neither quite know how to deal with.
Chapter 1
The tensely corded muscles in Roy’s neck and his constant stress headaches are a blaring sign that he needs a holiday. He always a bit on edge lately, but surprisingly he’s been in a good mood the last couple of days –since Adore’s father’s day post. Danny always knows how to make him smile, and the annual father’s day post dedicated to him never fails to do so. Roy can’t quite pinpoint why, but he’s missing Danny more than usual especially after seeing his latest photos online. Not for the first time, he scrolls through Adore’s instagram feed, trying to ignore the way his eyes lingers on the more racy pics. A stupid grin refuses to leave his face as he clicks on Adore’s post to him. He reads the cute caption over twice before letting himself look at their photo. His heart tugs as he sees adorably rumpled Danny. They both look so happy, so content and comfortable in each other’s company. He misses the days during and after Season 6 when it seemed like his entire world was Adore and Courtney. Now all the time they get together is a group dinner every couple of months if they’re lucky. And barely any time with Danny.
Danny’s the one person he misses the most when he’s on the road. He knows exactly when to make him laugh, and when to stay quiet - even though he never actually does, and he’s a pro at reading him right back whenever Roy dishes it out. No one knows Roy Haylock, or Bianca Del Rio as well as Danny does, and that’s why they’re the closest of friends. He just wishes sometimes they could be like normal best friends, be able to walk over to each other’s houses whenever they feel like it and spend lazy Sundays watching trash reality shows, gossiping about their co-workers and painting their nails. He can’t remember the last time they saw each other for more than a couple days.
Feeling unreasonably sorry for himself, he pushes all thoughts of Danny away. He’s lucky to be given this opportunity to travel the world, he firmly reminds himself, and he’s worked so hard to get to where he is now. But even Roy can tell he’s overworked and stressed, especially judging by the fact that he’s getting all soppy over something as small as missing his friend. He definitely needs a fucking holiday. The thought of a holiday has plagued his mind the last year or so but he’s never let himself commit to going. He dislikes being on a plane a second longer than needed but if he stays at home he knows he’ll end up working again, doing taxes or some other mundane task. Roy decides he has to go relax and unwind, have some drinks and maybe a massage or two - hopefully that’ll work all this tension out of his system.
He trawls the internet, researching destinations and browsing through idyllic beachfront resort photos. For some reason he doesn’t really feel that excited. After some thought he realises he can’t just sit alone in his own company for a week, he’ll be bored out of his mind. But on the other hand, he generally prefers his own company over others. Except for… No.. he can’t take Danny, can he? He mentally checks Adore’s schedule; refusing to admit to himself that it’s kinda stalkerish that he knows her entire upcoming month off by heart. He tells himself that he’s always made an effort to keep tabs on her career only because he’s incredibly proud of her success but it goes deeper than Roy likes to acknowledge - he mainly just likes to know where Danny is, especially when he’s not home. Adore isn’t touring at the moment but she’s fully booked around the States. What if he asks and Danny doesn’t think spending time together is important enough to miss his prior work commitments? Danny’s biggest pet peeve is being called lazy based on his punk drag and throws himself into his work to prove everyone wrong. Roy can’t do it, he’s so nervous even the thought of that conversation makes his stomach lurch. He knows he isn’t going to be able to face the rejection that may follow. With the idea of a holiday dismissed yet again, he pours himself a bitterly strong drink and slowly starts painting his eyes like a racoon for Bianca’s evening show.
The idea of Danny and Roy on vacation together buzzes around in Bianca’s head all night, no matter how hard she tries to concentrate on her comedy gig. Can’t help but get a little lost in the thoughts of having breakfast with Danny every single morning for seven days. Hearing Danny’s sunny laughter when he succeeds in making the younger man laugh and being able to say “See you tomorrow” and actually mean it. Bianca glugs through her drinks like a deprived alcoholic the entire show, trying and failing miserably to get Danny out of her head. Slowly everything starts to get a bit hazy, but that does little to repress the thoughts she’s been attempting to ignore. After a couple more drinks after the show has ended, with yet another stiff drink in hand, he finds himself picking out their seat selection so Danny can sit next to the window.
Roy wakes up the next morning to a pounding headache and a flight confirmation in his email inbox. His stomach slightly twists as he reads over the details.
Holiday resort package for two - Bali - one week.
Paranoia takes over, and he’s wondering how he’s going to break it to Danny - would Danny think it’s weird? Would he assume that Roy is just old and lonely, trying to buy company? Fuck. The older man doesn’t want to hear the hesitant ‘Sorry, I’ve got a lot going on right now’ from his lips, and the guilty ‘oh no, I feel so bad for wasting your tickets’ that will follow. Well. The tickets are already bought so he commands himself to suck it up, grow a pair and let Danny know. It’s his choice what he wants to do.
“I’ve got tickets. A week holiday, from this weekend.” Danny isn’t surprised at the early morning call from Roy or the lack of a greeting. “Oh my god cool! Where to?” “I won them.” He blurts out. Where the fuck did that come from? The white lie just slips out, his subconscious clearly a tad too insecure to tell him the full truth. Danny laughs, “You fucking lucky bitch. I guess once a winner always a winner.” “Guess that’s what happens when you’ve got talent.” Roy retaliates. A characteristic scream laugh from Danny’s end of the line. “Lucky for me I get to enjoy your benefits. So who’s the real winner bitch?” Roy’s laughing into the phone and Danny’s chest elates - he loves making Roy laugh. He can’t remember the last time someone besides Roy has made him this goofily happy.
“So you wanna come?” “Fuck yeah, I’m down.” It’s only after Roy hangs up he realises with a grin that Danny has agreed to come without even knowing where they were going.
The second his call with Roy ends he’s calling his manager and cancelling the week block. There must be something in his voice, an urgency perhaps, that makes his manager silent for a few seconds on the phone rather than a straight up ‘what the fuck?!’ “You’re sure?” She asks dubiously. Danny’s never asked for time off before. “Yeah man, I really need some time, you know, to take care of myself.” She agrees to postpone whatever she can and Danny is thinking to himself that the stars have finally aligned. He gets Roy all to himself in paradise for a whole week - for free too! They’re going to have time to talk for fucking hours and do every single thing he misses doing with Roy. It’s gonna be fucking epic.

Roy tells Danny a later flight time so he knows the messy man won’t be packed. He drags Danny off to the airport with just a carry on each, haphazardly packed last minute. “Do you know what my deepest, darkest fantasy is?” Roy says suggestively, quirking a brow. Danny brain stutters for a split second - god yes, he wants to hear every single one of Roy’s dirty fantasies. “Wha?” He cringes at how he breathless he sounds as soon as the word is out of his mouth but thankfully Roy doesn’t seem to notice. “Travelling with just a tiny ass carry on!” Roy says with a laugh. Danny nods in full agreement, suppressing the tinge of disappointment he feels when he realises the latino man isn’t talking about anything remotely sexual. “Yeah girl, if we’re hauling their asses back on a plane we’re gonna do it without 5 motherfucking suitcases of drag.”
* * * * * * * * * *
“Does our room have a balcony?” Danny asks with puppy dog eyes. Roy chuckles, and Danny nudges him with his shoulder as they’re walking from the resort lobby to the elevators. “I’m serious! I need a balcony for my morning joints.” “It’s not our room pussyfart, we have our own rooms. We’re famous remember? We can afford it.” Roy sarcastically retorts. Their rooms are side by side, almost identical with a king bed and a ridiculous number of pillows on each. Danny cheekily waits until Roy is unpacked before declaring that he prefers Roy’s balcony and that he better get used to him using it. The two look similar - actually Danny’s room seems to have the better view. Roy doesn’t argue though, he knows Danny will be out on his balcony pretty much 24/7 - and he doesn’t mind at all.
“We made it girl!” Danny flops onto the bed like a mermaid, legs tilted together before stretching out into a starfish and rolling around. “And the flight wasn’t even too bad.” Danny had thoroughly enjoyed the seemingly too short flight, mainly because he had spent most of it with Roy’s head nestled between his neck and shoulder. The show they started watching was so good too, even though half his attention was constantly fixed on how close Roy was to him. They spy the massive pool from their balcony and decide to have a dip, overly excited by the fact the pool also has a built in bar. “Wanna get a drink to celebrate?” Roy asks smiling. Danny jumps up without hesitation, “Party.”
They freshen up and make their way downstairs. Roy’s changed into a pair of khaki shorts that are tighter than usual and Danny’s eyes can’t help but trail down his toned back and linger on his round ass. Danny loves the booty, no matter what size or shape, but goddamn - the curve of Roy’s heart shaped ass is mouthwateringly gorgeous. Ugh, such a gorgeous man with such a gorgeous ass. He pushes the thought out of his head as they enter the outdoor balcony seating, he can’t think of Roy like that. He isn’t allowed to, not after the first time around. There had been a period after Season 6 where he let himself indulge in that fantasy. Mistaking every friendly and affectionate gesture as hidden romantic interest only led to the most painful heartbreak of his life – and it was worse because he never had Roy to begin with, so technically he didn’t even have a loss to mourn. But he’s over it now, and as long as he doesn’t let this thoughts stray to what could’ve been, he’ll be just fine.
They sprawl themselves on reclined lounge chairs, enjoying the luxury of ordering their food and drinks poolside. Impatient to swim, Roy wolfs down his noodles in record time and starts to lather on sunscreen. “Wait 30 minutes girl. I got mad cramps swimming after eating pizza once it was not cute.” Roy secretly loves that Danny fusses over him a lot of the time but he rolls his eyes for dramatic effect. “No need to mother me.” “I’d rather be daddy actually.” Danny pouts his lips and winks suggestively. Roy lies back down to tan as he waits for the food in his stomach to settle and Danny moves himself closer so they can chat over the noise of the busy pool. They start discussing the drama on the tv show they’ve started on the plane, their unending stream of conversation diverging until they’re somehow giggling at each other’s childhood stories.
They’re so wrapped up in each other and it’s only when the sun is setting in glorious streaks of red and purple that they realise how late it’s become. Not wasting any more time, they jump in; Roy swimming long, powerful strokes while Danny splish splashes around like a flying fish. He keeps accidentally splashing Roy in the face, shrieking and pretending to drown when Roy retaliates. They have handstand competitions and bet drinks on who can hold their breath underwater the longest. Danny always wins despite his smoker lungs and Roy playfully accuses him of cheating, jumping on him and pulling him under. “It’s ‘cause I’m a mermaid.” He says with a theatrical hair flip. Roy shakes his head, “More like a siren. Luring trade to their tragic deaths.” Danny blinks up at him with wet eyelashes and a cheeky smile and Roy can’t stop staring at how fucking perfect his face is. He can’t stop his hammering heart either and even though he knows his heart shouldn’t be beating that fast for a friend, especially Danny, his heart gives zero fucks.
They swim until they’re the only two left in the pool and it feels like their entire bodies are pruned. Roy gets out first to get them towels and as the multicoloured poolside lights reflect off the sheen of water on his body, Danny can’t help but gawk at him. Roy’s wearing a thin loose singlet, and seeing it plastered wet on him is almost more erotic than his bare chest. The clingy see through shirt defines the lean muscles of his torso, not leaving much to the imagination yet not revealing everything. God, his thoughts turn dirty so quick it makes his head spin and Danny gets hard as his eyes trail down to where Roy’s tight shorts do nothing to conceal his bulge. He’s trying to think of repulsive and un-sexy things like centipedes and people getting run over by a bus but his efforts get lost in a sea of filthy fantasies where Roy and him share the starring role.
“Let’s go back up, the pool’s closing down. I think the cleaners are getting a bit impatient waiting on us.” Roy’s standing by the edge of the pool, ready to go. Danny shakes his head, wracking his brain for an excuse to stay in a bit longer until he can get his problem under control. His face is an open book and it slowly dawns on Roy why he’s blushing and refusing to get out. “Oh my god are you haard?” Roy teases with a chuckle, his voice involuntarily deepening. “No it’s just- it’s not because of anything- it’s just like- one of those random boners you get you know? When you’re in one position for ages and then you move suddenly-” He’s rambling nervously, looking anywhere but Roy which the older man is thankful for - or else he would’ve noticed Roy heatedly staring at the outline of his hardened cock pressing against his swimming shorts. Roy forces himself to look away. “C’mere, I’ll block you. The cleaners are coming over to tell us to go.” He holds out a towel for him as Danny sheepishly gets out, avoiding all eye contact. Roy thinks to himself that red-faced, embarrassed Danny is probably one of the cutest things he’s ever seen - and accidentally-hard Danny is definitely the sexiest.

Hockey-Playing Trump Supporters: A Sourced List in Progress
This post is the actual list, unlike my previous post which, as I should have said more clearly, was meant more as a signal boost/information gathering sort of thing. Thanks to everyone who’s helped so far!
IMPORTANT: This list is still in progress, and will be updated consistently. Always trust the version of the post that you see when you click back to my blog, not older/outdated versions you might see from reblogs or comments. If you have newer/better info please send it to me here, at my sideblog, or on this anonymous SurveyMonkey poll, with links or screenshots included if at all possible. I have erred on the side of caution in putting people on this list. I don’t want this to be a witch hunt of people whose political beliefs are different from mine-- I think there’s a lot of space to disagree on political issues, but loudly supporting Donald Trump in spite of his racist, xenophobic, misogynist, Islamophobic, ableist views just because his policies will benefit you personally is not something that’s acceptable to me. However, to avoid casting the net too wide I’m not going to include people who have solely liked pro-Trump posts or followed pro-Trump people-- those are both things that people could do for a variety of reasons, and I think it’s risky to make assumptions about people’s political beliefs based on them. The same holds true for people whose spouses support Trump.
I’m also not going to include people who I can’t find receipts for on the main list-- if someone was cowed enough to delete pro-Trump stuff because of public outcry I have no way of knowing whether they had a genuine change of heart or they just didn’t want to deal with the fallout, so again I’m erring on the side of caution. The Queen of Nothing was action-packed from start to finish, unlike the second book where nothing happens until the final 100 pages.

My favorite parts of the book were the librarians setting up the library, navigating the harsh landscape of the Kentucky hills, and interacting with less than hospitable residents.

» This was a beautiful coming-of-age story about a girl that is struggling with her identity. As a Circassian-American that has lived her entire life in the United States, Allie struggles to connect with her Circassian roots. Furthermore, since her parents do not practice Islam, she also struggles to connect with her Muslim roots. I loved watching Allie’s growth & self-discovery from start to finish.
» It was heartbreaking to read from the perspective of a Muslim teen that felt she had to hide part of her identity for fear of prejudice and discrimination. Reading these perspectives always give me a fresh outlook & make me recognize my privilege.
» Typically, I do not like to read books where religion/faith is central to the plot, HOWEVER I really appreciated learning more about Islam in this book. All-American Muslim Girl does beautiful job of laying out what Islam is, and what it isn’t by challenging common misconceptions.

Turns out, she’s been doing some seriously normal activities like attending friend’s weddings and birthday parties and going on vacations.
[Like does she want to come hang out with me and my friends? The invitation is always open Selena.]
And it’s all very intentional though. Selena took some time away from the public eye to focus on her health in the fall. And now that she’s back, she’s taking it slow.
A source told Us Weekly that quote, “Selena is focusing on her mental health and has been reading, exercising, eating well and spending time with her close friends and family.”
And while she’s easing back into working, she’s trying to keep her personal and professional lives more separate.
A source also told ET that quote, “Selena loves what she does and she loves her fans, but she doesn’t like the pressure and expectations of being under a microscope.”
Which is totally understandable, even though we definitely miss seeing her on the reg.
She did however give her first extended interview to Coach last month on its first Dream It Real podcast episode.
Selena talked about the friends she’s been spending time with and how important they are to her.
She said quote, “I mean my friends, without a doubt, have saved my life in multiple situations. I mean that. Because they’re honest, they’re loving, they unconditionally love, they never judge, and they give me sound advice.”
The friends she talked about are Ashley Cook, Raquelle Stevens, and Courtney Lopez, who are frequently posting pics with Selena on Instagram.
And as for a new relationship? It doesn’t seem like that’s coming any time soon for Selena. She is living her best life with her girlfriends and don’t need no man.

Either way we are just happy that Selena is happy and seems to be doing really well with these really normal friends.
And we are just over here waiting for some new music. Which it seems like we may be getting soon.
Just yesterday Selena posted this pic and captioned it quote, “Studio diva.”
And in March she said this on an Instagram live story.
So…we should be getting new music any day now.

Ariana Grande is currently riding high on a wave of happiness after releasing her new album, Sweetener, on August 17. Her fourth studio album though, isn’t without bittersweet undertones, as she recovers from a tragic attack that happened at the end of her Manchester Arena concert, on May 22, 2017.
Many of her fans expected to see some sort of tribute on the album, and it comes in the form of ‘Get Well Soon’, the last track on the album. The lyrics touch on feeling alone and disconnected, which no doubt reflect her feelings in the aftermath.

I’m too much in my head, did you notice?

My body’s here on Earth, but I’m floating

The song is also 5:22 seconds long, with a silence long at the end, which many think is a nod to those who lost their lives on that night.

In a new interview with Beats 1’s Ebro Darden, Ariana breaks down while talking about the song and its meaning. She explained, fighting back tears,
“It’s about just being there for each other and helping each other through scary times and anxiety. You know, there’s some dark sh*t out there, man. And we just have to be there for each other as much as we can. ‘Cause you never f*cking know, you know? So, I wanted to do something to make people feel good and less alone.”
“It’s not just about that… it’s also about personal demons, and anxiety, and more intimate tragedies as well, you know? Mental health is so important. People don’t pay enough mind to it because we have things to do, schedules, we have jobs, kids, places to be, and pressures to fit in, Instagram Stories — whatever the f*ck you’re trying to put on, facade… trying to keep up. People don’t pay attention to what’s happening inside, you know? I’m so sorry, I’m falling apart.”
“That’s why I felt like it was important. I just wanted to give people a hug, musically. I feel like the lyrics can be kind of corny when I talk about wanting to hug you and stuff, but I really do…I don’t know. People gotta be nicer. When you see this sh*t on the news, it affects you, but not in the same way. You feel bad, you tweet, you post a picture, you send your condolences, you say something and you move on. But like, Christmas comes and you’re thinking about it, it’s like… f*ck I’m so sorry. People are permanently affected by this sh*t. It’s just, perspective. It changes everything.”

A year on from the tragedy, Ariana paid tribute with a series of heartfelt sentiments.
The young star, who was performing in Manchester when a terror attack saw 22 people lose their lives and over 500 injured, first took to Twitter to write: “Thinking of you all today and every day”
“I love you with all of me and am sending you all of the light and warmth I have to offer on this challenging day.”
The star also unveiled a bee tattoo in honour of the 22 victims.
She took to social media to share a snap of the tiny inking, which is just behind her left ear, and captioned it: “Forever.”
The worker bee became the symbol of Manchester solidarity after the attack and many of Ariana’s fans have followed her lead by getting their own.
Ariana also attended a family vigil, which was led by her mum, Joan, in honour of those who had died.

The inking comes after Ariana spoke candidly about how she channelled her emotions into her music following the tragic Manchester terror attack.
She called the Manchester Arena attack the ‘absolute worst of humanity’. Ahead of the first anniversary of the attack. She told Time magazine : “Music is supposed to be the safest thing in the world. I think that’s why it’s still so heavy on my heart every single day.
“When I started to take care of myself more, then came balance, and freedom, and joy.
“It poured out into the music. We’ve messed with the idea of not being able to find the ground again, because I feel like I’m finally landing back on my feet now.”
We’re glad to hear it, Ariana.
Her first television television appearance after the attack was on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. During the interview, she discussed her new album and what fans can expect, before talk turned to the tragic events that unfolded.
Jimmy said: “I know it’s tough for everybody, tough for fans and tough for you, and I know you haven’t done any interviews, and I understand that.
“I just wanted to say thank you so much for coming on the show and for being strong and for entertaining and for showing up and going back to Manchester and doing a benefit. I thought that was awesome of you. I just think you’re so strong and so cool.”
Ariana, visibly upset, just replied: “Thanks. Thank you.”
Her new album is “about bringing light to a situation, or to someone’s life, or somebody else who brings light to your life, or sweetening the situation”.
According to E!, her appearance on the show was record-breaking, bringing in over 3 million social interactions. The 24-year-old also performed her new single ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ for the first time on TV, which you can watch below.
Following the attack, which saw 22 people lose their lives and over 500 injured, Ariana put together the One Love Manchester benefit concert which raised over £4 million for all of the victims.
Prior to the concert, she paid a surprise visit to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and sat at the bedside of children who were still recovering from the attack.
Jaden Farrell-Mann, 10, was left with fractures to both her legs and shrapnel wounds from the terror attack and has undergone two operations.
The youngster happily tweeted: “I got to meet my queen today love you @ArianaGrande xxxxxx”
The singer also had photos with nurses at the hospital and dozens of other patients, including 14-year-old Evie Mills.
The horrific incident took place at around 10.35pm after Grande performed her final song from the Dangerous Woman tour.
The explosion was detonated by a suicide bomber, who was named as 22-year-old Salman Abedi. Born in Manchester to Libyan parents, Abedi is thought to have made his way to the city from London in order to carry out his attack. Abedi set off a homemade bomb near the exit as fans were leaving the venue.
All 22 victims have now been named: Georgia Callender, 18; Saffie-Rose Roussos, 8; Olivia Campbell, 15; John Atkinson, 26; Martyn Hett, 29; Eilidh MacLeod, 14; Chloe Rutherford, 17; Liam Curry, 19; Michelle Kiss, 45; Sorrell Leczkowski, 14; Nell Jones, 14; Alison Howe, 45; Lisa Lees, 47; Jane Tweddle-Taylor, 51; Angelika and Marcin Klis; Kelly Brewster, 32; Elaine McIver, 42; Megan Hurley, 15; Wendy Fawell, 50; Courtney Boyle, 19, and her 32-year-old step-father Philip Tron.
Following the attack, Ariana Grande – who left the venue unharmed – took to Twitter to express her heartbreak, saying “broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words.”

Well the holidays are over and, just as we had to adjust to regular work schedules again, we were hit with the nasty reminder that it’s winter.
We started the year off with 2, completely expected, foster failures when both Jingle & Ella’s families just couldn’t resist the charms of these sweet pups. Jingle has decided the holiday themed name was way too twee and changed his name to Shadow while Ella opted for a slight adjustment to call herself Stella.
Also adopted this week were Chandler, Charlie, Courtney (now Ellie), Deirdra, Peety & Sheba!

“My Stella has a personality that seems much like a Border Collie — I’m on a facebook page called BorderCollie Anonymous, and I see her personality in many of the postings there. She could play ball all day long, and at Christmas, she knows she’s getting a gift and is more excited than the kids are to open and play with her new toys. She also is quite demanding for affection – if you pet her and stop petting, she will place her paw onto you to indicate no, you are not done petting. “Monica is adjusting very well and is a perfect fit for our family. We have changed her name and she is now Abby.
It’s been quite a busy few days but so much fun welcoming Abby into our family and figuring out our new routine. Abby has been to the groomer and the vet and spends most of her day in someone’s lap taking naps. I reviewed her microchip information when we came home and updated her account with her photo.
Thank you for all the hard work that you and TLC do each and everyday to save the lives of over 2,000 dogs! The process was simple but thorough and we are very fortunate to have Abby join our family. “

There were times in the past month that I thought that I could not write another post. I was staying up ’til the wee hours of the morning just to make sure I had a post scheduled for the next day. So in case you may have missed a day here or there, here it is… “31 days of Blogtober: The Recap.”

It Just Hurts a Little (Biadore) - Whiskey Neat
AN: Okay I have a few things to say. First, this is for the person who requested a jealousy fic. This probably isn’t what you meant by jealousy but this is all I got 😂 Second, I switched from using Adore’s name to Danny’s in the middle of this cause it sounded better so I apologize if that’s annoying. And third, I used a few of Adore’s tweets in the story and I’m aware that there’s typos in them. I didn’t correct them because I wanted to have the tweets in the exact way Adore worded them. With that being said…enjoy!
“Bianca was in Seattle yesterday?” Adore asked herself as she scrolled through her twitter timeline.
She stared at Bianca’s tweet for a few minutes just to make sure she read it right. “Why didn’t she tell me?” Adore wondered, feeling a little hurt.
Adore hadn’t seen Bianca in a few months and to say she missed her would be an understatement.
She decided to shoot Bianca a quick text, on the off chance that she might not have left the city yet.
AD: Hey, you still in town?
After a few minutes of not getting a response, Adore decided to check Instagram. She lazily scrolled past pictures of her friends, liking a couple of Chris’s comedy videos and laughing at them, until a certain picture caught her attention.
Bianca had posted a photo at a café that was close to Adore’s apartment with the caption clearly stating that she had been hanging out with Bendelacreme all day.
“So she has time to see Dela but not me?” Adore bitterly questioned.
She closed the app and opened her messages again. Still no reply from Bianca.
Before she could stop herself, Adore quickly typed out another text.
AD: Unless you’re too busy to text me back now…maybe I should’ve asked yesterday when you HAD time :)
She instantly regretted that one. But she had the right to be mad, didn’t she? Her so-called best friend came to her city for a WHOLE DAY and hung out with someone else without even thinking to invite her. What would any other civilized human do in this situation? “Not fucking text them shit like that, you idiot. Shut up Adore” she mentally cursed herself.
She was scared out of her thoughts when her phone buzzed, causing her to almost fall out of bed. A text from Bianca flashed onto her screen.
BDR: No, my flight left this morning. I’m back in LA.
Adore’s heart dropped to her stomach. Bianca had really left without seeing her.
Before Adore had a chance to reply, 3 dots appeared, indicating that Bianca was typing another message.
BDR: Sorry I didn’t get a chance to see you…we had limited time.
“Limited time my fucking ass” Adore thought, rolling her eyes.
AD: So having “limited time” doesn’t apply to Dela then I guess?
Adore knew she shouldn’t be acting like this. But for fuck’s sake, they could’ve just invited her.
Luckily, Adore was interrupted by her cousin John walking into her apartment before she could say anything else to Bianca.
John wanted to go bar hopping and he wanted Danny to come with. Danny shut his phone off and shoved it in his pocket before grabbing his wallet and following John out the door.
They went to a few bars, sang karaoke, and took a few more shots than necessary. By the time they reached the last bar of the night, it was well past 3am.
While John was off talking to a friend, Danny sat in the corner alone, thinking about his texts with Bianca.
Danny knew she would’ve replied by now since it had been like 5 hours since he last checked his phone. Against his better judgement, Danny pulled his phone out of his pocket and turned it back on.
He didn’t even check his messages, instead, going straight to twitter and letting the alcohol take over his brain as he typed out a few tweets.

If you haven’t spoken to me in over 3 months continue it on.. I don’t want you in my life if you last that long out of it honestly. 😎
He waited a few minutes before typing out the next one.

I mean it. Leave me completely alone if we haven’t talked it a few months. You’re nothing but highschool vibe trash. Forced to chill 4 work.

As soon as the last one was posted, a text from Bianca appeared at the top of his screen. That’s what he gets for letting Bianca have Adore’s twitter notifications on.
BDR: Danny…
Infuriated, Danny deleted the tweets almost as quickly as he had posted them, downing the rest of his beer and exiting the bar, muttering an “I’m going home” to John on the way out.
As soon as Danny reached his apartment, his phone vibrated again. But this time it didn’t stop.
“Oh fuck, she’s calling” Danny thought, questioning if he should answer or not.
He decided he was feeling brave (thanks to all the alcohol he had consumed throughout the night) and hit accept.
“The hell do you want, Bianca?” Danny said sternly.
"Why are you making such a big deal out of this, Danny?” Bianca asked.
“Why am I making a big deal out of it?! You’re the one who fucking came to my city without telling me a thing about it and never made one effort to hang out with me when you knew damn well how badly I wanted to see you”
“Dan, I already told you, I had limited time there and I had to get everything ready for my show last night…what else do you want me to say?” Bianca said, the annoyance becoming clear in her voice.
“You had time to hang out with Dela though, huh? You were with her all day, just chilling and drinking your boujee ass wine…I thought that was our thing…”
“Danny we-“
“No, don’t ‘Danny’ me. I’ve been trying to make plans to hang out with you and Courtney for the longest fucking time. Maybe you’d know that if you ever paid attention in our fucking groupchat. But you don’t. You’re always busy but somehow you always manage to find time for everyone but me. Even when you’re literally down the street from my apartment, you can find someone better to hang out with even though we literally haven’t seen each other in months. But it’s fine Bianca. It’s really fucking fine. I see just how important I am to you.” Adore ranted, drunkenly yelling at Bianca by the time she reached the last sentence.
“What the fuck Danny? You know how busy I am. I’ve been touring nonstop for the past 3 years. I only get to see these other queens when I have shows with them. I hung out with Dela yesterday because we were in THE SAME FUCKING SHOW last night. I didn’t invite you because we had to make sure our set was right and we couldn’t have any distractions. It’s not my fault you and me rarely have shows together. You’ve been taking so much time off lately while the rest of us are WORKING. It’s not my fault you have so much time on your hands. And I am allowed to have other friends you know.” Bianca yelled back.
Well that hurt.
Danny was silent for a long time. So long, that Bianca almost thought he had hung up on her.
He hadn’t though. He was just trying to process everything Bianca had said to him. That last part really stung. Especially coming from Bianca. But Danny didn’t want to fight anymore. He had started this fight so he might as well end it too.
Bianca heard him take a shaky breath.
“I know…I’m sorry. I just really miss you, okay?” Danny said quietly, his voice cracking a little.
Bianca was taken aback. She had expected Danny to keep fighting, especially after that part about working. She probably shouldn’t have said that.
Bianca didn’t know what else to say so she just replied, “I miss you too, Dan. I’m sorry things didn’t work out this time.”
“And I’m sorry for overreacting…it’s just not fair that everyone else gets to be around you all the time and I don’t” Danny replied softly.
“I know, but hey, my tour ends next week and I’ll have a few days off and we can hang out and have fun like we used to…if you still want to see me, that is.” Bianca said with an amused voice.
“Of course I still want to see you, you fucker!” Danny yelled a little too loudly. He probably just woke up his neighbors…but fuck them…they’re assholes anyway. Danny was going to see his Willow soon and everything was suddenly okay in the world.

The Dark Side of Beauty {Witney} Fic Challenge -C*NT
A/N: Hi! i’m trying to show more versatility so I decided to write something for the fic challenge! The words I chose were: Tragic, Glass, Silver and I quadruple checked to make sure I used each and every one of them! This is an angsty Witney one shot, I’m really sorry about it but this goes over some pretty heavy topics. I wanted to show that what you see isn’t always the truth when it comes to Courtney Act. Courtney had always been a fairly confident person all throughout her life. Growing up in Oz had given her an overly positive attitude, where the people said what they meant and meant what they say. They didn’t lay sugar coated back handed compliments on you one by one until you shattered. Even if they did, they would never direct any hate or criticism towards Courtney. The thin blonde had always been placed on an untouchable pretty pedestal. In Oz she felt invincible, yes she had made mistakes many times over throughout her Australian Idol experience and in the drag community down under, but her mistakes had never been looked at with a magnifying glass.
So you can only imagine how much of a culture shock it was when she came to America, where her fame really took off.
It had all begun with Ru Paul’s Drag Race.
In one way or another, she was always slept on throughout the competition despite winning two challenges.
Courtney had come up with a variety of expensive and unique looks for each of her runway outfits, but was famously accused of ‘resting on pretty’ While her sisters got away with infamously not cinching their waists and wearing the same silhouette 15 times, she was ridiculed and told by bitter drag race fans that she had skated through to the top 3 in a bra and underwear.
She remembered one moment on the show in particular where she had been excited to wear her runway outfit with the large purple blanket. It was almost like a two in one look. She had blindfolded herself with a sleeping mask as she walked slowly down the catwalk. A pillow was placed behind her head, and her body was surrounded by the royal purple comforter. When she hit the center of the runway, she ripped off the blanket to reveal a matching purple bra and underwear set. She had spent the majority of her time in the work room styling her wig so that it reached to the high heavens.
Her look was a concept, showing her ability to the judges that she could think outside of the box.
Alas, that’s when the infamous “resting on pretty” comment came out of Ru’s lips, and instead of taking it to heart she incorporated it into her merch.
Of course she hated the saying with every fiber of her being - what was so wrong with being pretty? But she decided she’d rather make money off of it then freak out about it. She had decided she would just work twice as hard as most Ru girls to prove to people she was more than a pretty face, or a gender bent drag queen from Oz.
She focused her attention back on the video of Bianca that a fan had sent her. They had captioned it “BDR jokes about Diet’s.”
There was a point in time when a few months after drag race had ended, Bianca had put on around 10 pounds of weight. Courtney, trying to be a supportive friend, had suggested she try out the vegan diet. She had been vegan for a long time now, and had successful results ever since. She hardly ever gained weight, and always kept a lean figure which was perfect for being a female impersonator.
“That girl is a vegan! Did you know that? I don’t know about you, but I don’t hate myself that much, I’ll just stick to being a vegetarian!” Bianca roared to the crowd.
There was scattered laughter in the video before it died down. She frowned, unsure of her emotions about the subject.
She listened to Bianca go on and on about how Courtney’s version of dessert was a square of dark chocolate after a show, how she’d rarely have mixed drinks, and how everything she ate just had to be vegan, gluten free and organic.
Courtney had no idea that she seened so intense with her diet, so to show versatility she decided she would eat more carbs. She would continue to watch her weight carefully of course, but made a mental note to be sure to eat more sweets in front of people
Courtney clicked away from the video and sighed. She knew Bianca was just trying to poke a little fun, but she really didn’t even know the reality of what she was saying.
Her downward spiral and obsession with food started with that video. Of course, Bianca wouldn’t think twice about her jokes because Courtney was supposed to take it lightly and roll her eyes like she always did. She was an insult comic, Bianca would say, and that it really didn’t mean anything. Courtney would nod and reassure that she understood because that’s how she was raised. She was always a good sport.
It was all great, until one day when it wasn’t.

4 months later
Courtney was pulling her long sheer purple dress over head before one of her shows, when she noticed that there was a clean tear in it, right under her breast plate.
“Gained some weight huh?” Willam eyed the tanned blonde as she tugged at the unforgiving fabric. “You’re still not fat at least.”
But she was. Courtney had never stretched, ripped, or tore a garment before in her life. The fact that one of her very favorite expensive dresses was now ripped was devastating to her.
She didn’t think she had gained too much weight. She had allowed herself 10 pounds, which was what she had put on after lightening up on her diet. But now she was seeing things she couldn’t unsee.
As she stared at herself in the mirror, she noticed her thighs touched now. Before she had a flawless thigh gap, the envy of many other queens and women all around the world. Her stomach was slightly sticking out, likely bloated from the sugary cocktail she had consumed at the bar with Willam.
Lastly, her arms had more meat on them slightly wider than they used to be. The sleeves of her dress fit snugly. She probably couldn’t even move the microphone in front of her chest without destroying the garment further.
“Willam, I can’t get this to look good - what am I going to do?” Courtney panicked, shuffling through her suitcase.
Willam shrugged, noting how frantic Courtney had become but taking it with a grain of salt. Court was the kind of person to cry over her favorite chips being discontinued, it really wasn’t anything new.
“I don’t know, pull an Adore and wear a tank top and shorts?” Willam suggested.
“Please, at least TRY to be helpful.” Courtney groaned exasperated. She eventually found her long geometric cut out dress that hugged her snugly, but still fit despite the weight gain. She said a silent prayer in her head and thanked the universe for stretchy fabric.
“I guess this will just have to do.” Courtney sighed, taking the purple dress off delicately, trying not to rip it further. Maybe Bianca could fix it for her.
“You look hot no matter what, big or small.” Willam sighed, eyeing his girlfriend jealously. Courtney looked seriously sexy with curves, almost like a real woman when she was dressed in drag. Willam was fixated on her ass as Courtney smoothed the fabric over her stomach self consciously.

The words kept ringing in her head. All night, throughout her performance that’s all her mind could fixate on.
She had grown large.
She had gained weight.
She had done the unthinkable.
No, gaining 10 pounds wasn’t a big deal for a lot of people, especially someone who had started out at a healthy weight. But Courtney was obsessed with control, what had she allowed herself to do? Her body had transformed into something she wasn’t used to, and now she had to get it back to what it was before.
She decided she wouldn’t eat or drink for the rest of the night.

After she left the club that night, she ran into Bob in the streets of New York. Smiling, she ran up and embraced him in a large hug.
“It’s so good to see you!” Courtney gushed, feeling relieved to be out of the limelight and away from fans. Willam had gone home early to rest up for a show, which was why she had left the venue rather quickly instead of getting drunk with fans like they usually did together.
“You too, gorgeous-”
“Hey, I know you!” A heavy set man ran up to them, huffing and puffing as if he had been chasing after them for blocks.
“You do?” Courtney asked bewildered, smiling politely but not sure where the man was going with this.
“Yeah, you’re that impersonator-from Las Vegas!” The fan slurred
“I am?” Courtney grinned, eyeing Bob holding his iphone out in front of them. “Who do I impersonate?”
Humor me, she thought.
“You-uh, oh god I can’t put my finger on it right now, uh. Oh! Britney Spears!”
Bob was cackling, much like Bianca at the remark. Courtney wasn’t laughing though.
Not even a random fan knew who she was anymore.
“Yes!” Courtney chimed, not missing a beat. Not letting her true emotions of not being recognized show.
“You’re beautiful!” A random woman called as she walked by.
Was she really though?
She nodded to the woman smiling, muttering thank you as she looked back at the drunk fan. She crossed her arms in front of her stomach, trying to hide her bloated belly and disguise her expanded waist line.
“And I don’t care about you because you stay here in New York City, and I can see you for free!” The fan exclaimed to Bob, continuing to stumble over his words.
“Yep. Who cares about me right?” Bob deadpanned, shrugging.
“I should get going Bob.” Courtney muttered. “It was good to see you.”
Bob smiled and embraced her in a side hug before she walked away.
“Good to see ya, Derrick.” Bob called playfully.
After tonight, Courtney vowed to go back to her vigorous strict vegan diet. She would not be mistaken for Derrick, or anyone other then herself ever again.

It wasn’t just one comment that got Courtney to lose 30 pounds after that night, and continue to engage in obsessive behavior. It had been multiple. Over time, everything had piled up inside and the only way Courtney had known how to handle it was to control her eating habits.
So she stopped eating. She would allow herself one meal a day, a handful of almonds and a couple of glasses of water. The weight practically shredded off of her, her collar bones prominent and her jawline sharper than ever before.
To make sure no one got suspicious, she would wear pads almost 24/7. This was her way of controlling her environment. No one had read her in months, and some of her sisters had even said she looked different, glowing even.
“Court, are you okay? You seem so distant.” Willam asked concerned, showing some emotion other than arrogance for once.
“I’m fine.” Courtney nodded, not meeting Willam’s eyes. She was dressed in her long australian flag gown, paired with cherry red lips and sleek blonde curls.
Willam didn’t know that Courtney had restricted herself to only eating once a day. When someone was considered beautiful like Courtney, they didn’t pay attention to what she ate all day. They either accepted that she starved herself to get her body the way that it was, or didn’t care enough to be concerned.
They hadn’t had sex since the weight loss. Courtney knew that if Willam saw her body underneath all of her clothes that he would be mortified. Her ribs were prominent, hip bones jutted out significantly. She had even lost her six pack, due to the lack of muscle that she had left from her not eating.
“Okay. So I’ll see you after your show right?” Willam asked hopefully.
“Yeah, definitley.” Courtney answered unenthusiastically as she sprayed her blonde wig one last time with a layer of hairspray.
Willam was exhausting, always asking questions and had become incredibly needy lately. Courtney had learned to shut him out and just give him blow jobs to keep him satisfied. She knew it wouldn’t stay like this forever. He was beginning to get more and more suspicious of her behavior.
“Okay. I’ll see you later.” Willam said defeated, leaving the room swiftly.
God, she didn’t deserve him she thought as she watched him leave the room.
She wanted to have sex with him so badly. She wanted to tell him so badly how much she had been struggling lately. She just wanted him to ask.
If anyone could just ask how she was doing, she would tell them. She would burst at the seams and tell them everything.
But no one ever asked a pretty girl questions like that.
She sighed as she fluffed her hair one last time, meeting her eyes in the mirror. She moved closely to it to double check for any imperfections.
Something felt different about tonight, and Courtney didn’t know what.

Courtney appeared on the stage, smiling as the bright lights fixated on her in front of her microphone. She felt nervous, anxious even, which was unusual for a seasoned performer like herself.
“Hey guys!” Courtney exclaimed.
The crowd roared, clapping enthusiastically for
her as she curtseyed in front of them.
Play up the positivity.
Force the smile.
She smiled cheekily and looked down towards the crowd, spotting a couple near the front whispering. She felt her heart stop as she wondered if her outfit had ripped or something. She smoothed down her dress self consciously and pushed a piece of her blonde hair behind her ear hoping that she had fixed whatever she had messed up this time.
She decided to take a sip of her white wine before she began her first song. Tonight, she was going to start with her cover of Stayin’ Alive, as a mantra to herself. She had needed to hear that song more and more lately. Maybe the more she sang it, the more she’d actually want to stay alive.

The song blasted through her vocal chords and out of the speakers, tears streaming down her face as she let the reality of the lyrics sink in.

She breathed deeply, partially letting herself rest and partially trying to pull herself together.
She had to finish the song. She had to show that she wasn’t just pretty. She had raw talent too.

She was feeling herself getting more choked up. This was her song, even if it was written and performed many years ago, she was relating to this song so much.
She tries so hard, harder than anyone else in the business to stay relevant.
No one understood the pressure she put on herself to be more then what people said about her.
Shakily, she finished the song; proud that she was able to still do it justice even in the middle of an epiphany. The crowd applauded and cheered, but then she started listening to what the crowd had thought were sweet comments.
“You’re so beautiful!”
“I wanna rest on pretty!”
Courtney’s head was spinning, the smoke from the machines fogging up her vision and giving her a headache.
Why didn’t her fans understand her? Why didn’t they see how hard she worked every single day to become more than just a beautiful drag queen?
Courtney had worked so hard over the last couple of years, from involving herself in an American Apparel Ad campaign, to being in a music video with Little Mix and in countless performances in between. She had shared the stage with big names and not so big names, and had been courteous and professional at all of her shows.
Her head was throbbing, a scream wanting to come out of her as she began to breathe heavily in a panic.
She was too strict on her diet, so she eased up. Then she was too fat, so she became strict again.
Now her she was, back at square one: she was just pretty. Or beautiful. It didn’t matter to anyone if she ate 1 potato chip or 2 bags worth. It didn’t matter to anyone if she wore an expensive gown or a potato sack. It didn’t matter if she performed with Miley Cyrus or her boyfriend Willam.
It didn’t matter.
Her talent didn’t matter.
She didn’t matter.
All that mattered to her fans was her vanity, her image.
She didn’t want to be known for her image anymore. She wanted to be known for her talent and hard work, just like her season 6 sisters were.
Just like Willam.
And Alaska.
Even Miss Fame.
“Damnit, I am more than just a pretty face! I have talent! I have charisma. Why don’t you all see it?” Courtney shrieked, throwing her glass towards the crowd. After an audible gasp, she turned her back away from them and fled the stage.
Courtney ran down the steps backstage and to her dressing room, locking herself in it. She heard a heavy knock on the door shortly after but ignored it. Whoever it was knocked a few more times before they gave up, leaving her to her own devices.
No one cares, everyone just gives up.
It was just her and her dressing room mirror now.
“What is wrong with you Courtney?” Court asked herself, staring into the mirror. Her blue green eyes looked manic, bloodshot even. Her mascara was smeared in neat black lines down her cheeks, she even cried neatly. She licked her palm and flattened it across her face, dragging it down her neck, removing her foundation and contour in one smooth motion.
“I’m not pretty anymore!” Courtney exclaimed, proceeding to do the same on the other side of her face. Her lipstick had been smeared down her chin to her sharp jaw line.
“What will people think? What will people say to this?” Courtney laughed maniacally, snapping a photo and immediately uploading it to instagram.

The notifications began almost instantly but she didn’t care. She stared at herself in the mirror, the edges of Shane’s face and Courtney’s blurred by the ruined makeup.
She kept her wig on and decided to look down at her phone.
adoredelano: you’re right, you’re beautiful courm! no matter what!
“No!” Courtney yelled, slamming her fist into the silver mirror. A loud shatter broke the otherwise silent room, and shortly after Courtney felt her right hand stinging.
You’re nothing more than a pretty face.
“Lies!” Courtney sobbed, grabbing a piece of broken mirror off of the floor. “I am more then my beauty.”
She stared down at the sharp edge of the piece of broken mirror in her hand, placing it against her chest.
“This isn’t beauty.” Courtney murmured, watching herself drag the sharp edge across her pectoral muscle. A ribbon of blood followed the blade and gushed quickly out of her. She repeated it again and again, in different spots. Some on her leg, others on her arm, some even on her stomach.
She felt dizzy, and finally succumbed to her hand injury and cuts collapsing onto the floor of her dressing room.

After Willam had called Courtney 5 times, she rushed over to the club where she had performed at. Running inside, she sprinted towards the backstage to the last door on the right. A large gold star hung on the door with Courtney’s name on it.
Willam knocked on the door loudly.
No response.
“We’ve been trying to get her to come out for 30 minutes now. Here’s a key. She’d probably want to see you more than us anyway.” A backstage attendant said, handing her the small gold key.
That was odd, Willam thought. Usually Courtney was out in 15 minutes tops. Even then, she usually left the dressing room door open for anyone who had any questions.
Willam sighed, pushing the key into the hole and twisting it.
When she opened it, she was not expecting what she saw.
“Courtney? Courtney!” Willam exclaimed, rushing to the broken girls side. She shook her wildly, not even caring that she was getting blood all over her brand new Versace dress.
No response. Courtney looked pale and unlike herself, her makeup was all but a couple of messy streaks all over her face. A single piece of broken mirror was stuck in her right hand, that had smaller shards stuck inside of it.
“Courtney please don’t leave me. I’ll do anything, please I can’t lose you!” Willam sobbed, holding her close to her.
One of the managers of the club came rushing in, distraught written all over her face as she observed the sad scene before her.
“U-um, would you like me to call an ambulance?” She stuttered.
“I needed you to call one 10 minutes ago! Call now!” Willam barked, still watching Courtney. concerned. He checked her pulse and realized she was still breathing, even if it was faintly.
“Thank god she’s still breathing. I would’ve sued you motherfuckers. I’ll pay for all of the damage so don’t worry about that. Just get the fuck out of here and get her some fucking medical attention!” Willam exclaimed frantically. She felt like she was going to be sick. She couldn’t lose her Courtney, not right now. Not so soon after Warner.
The manager rushed out and Willam hummed to herself as she rocked Courtney in her arms.
Being pretty wasn’t always pretty. Sometimes, being pretty was an awful, tragic mess.
