as i have already said, halloween has always been steph's favorite holiday- even if she did not fully do as everyone else did after the age of five years old, she still got to dress up to wear the costumes to school. she still got to watch other people in their costumes roam around pinebrook and of course she was part of any and all town events. she loved the decorations and just in general adored fall and all the treats and colors and smells and sights it brought to hatchetfield. it all comes to change in the aftermath of both abstience camp and nerdy prudes, more so in nerdy prudes, but also in ac--- the same sort of .... nervousness pops up in the aftermath of ac, BUT her father is still there. so things sort of unfortunately continue on as they traditionally would

within the case of npmd, first of all you have to keep in mind that halloween? not too far from the actual events of what happened so naturally, girl is still pretty on edge in general- really only going to her house, pete's house, various funerals / the cemetery in hatchetfield, school, and on the occasion beanies to try and surprise pete or for a small change of scenery. she doesn't go out for anything ( which is telling because halloween 2020 was on a SATURDAY ) , unless really asked or pushed she does not even half ass dress up. no pumpkins are outside the mayors house or any decorations at all, just a candy bowl half ass placed as far from the door as possible in hopes people won't get too close. honestly good old nerves lingering from being hunted down ruin it for her for a LONG time.
