my most old person trait is that when i'm at the store and see marrow bones for $9 a pound i can't stop myself from complaining that you used to be able to buy a pack of those from the local co-op for a dollar

#alright i suppose i should tell what's up lately! im mostly posting this like a mini update or whatever haha #so - since i made that last post on my disappearance i worked endlessly to finish my animation project and thank goodness it's finally over #i had to take a break from trying to be social here and just stay in my own space and i did that by having a smaller side blog to ramble #the project was very... tiring - definitely took out so much energy from me post physically and mentally and i was just frustrated everyday #so i just took my time to be alone with a few close people and i like to think im okay now?#i like to think so - since i was able to deliver a few commission drafts today so i'm relieved that im back to my usual pace #I'll post a few of my doodles here i did during my project just to fill the void haha #i've acquired a minor familial from another video game and i care for him a lot :] idk ill bother to talk abt it here but yeah thats funnn #also indulging a lil bit of t.n.m.n content as of late also thanks to my friend who knows abt it hehe #soo yeah! I'm tremendously blessed that my own funny little brand of chronic illness - PCOS - isn't as debilitating or #difficult as other illnesses that friends have to face on a daily basis. I'm so grateful for this. But PCOS affects each body differently #and my symptoms can be challenging for me and I'm a bit of a wimp. If you have a moment to spare - could you pray for my health #but also that I can work with it well. Have a good attitude #respond in the best way #etc #And God willing just have the energy to get things done? I am so tired of the exhaustion side of it.#Thank you!

My #1 advice for people moving out is to NOT buy nonstick cookware... not only is the lifespan of nonstick a MAXIMUM of 7 years (usually more like 2-5 years) but teflon, aka Polytetrafluoroethylene-- the plastic coating that makes the cookware nonstick, infuses microplastics into your food.

New cookware sets can cost hundreds of dollars so my advice is to look for 100% stainless steel cookware in thrift stores. Safer, cheaper, & instead of needing to replace every 2-7 years they can potentially last you the entire rest of your life AND they won't start shedding plastic into your food

#x #PS plastic food storage containers are also not ideal... I'm going to replace all mine with glass containers when i can afford it #i bought everything nonstick thinking it would be easier to deal with. i wanted to be cost-effective & save time so buying cheap nonstick #seemed like a good idea but every single nonstick thing I bought either already needed to be tossed in the trash or the teflon is flaking #aka they have become unsafe to use. but i dont have the money to replace all my fucking kitchenware!!!!!#today the casserole dishes that i bought 2.5 years ago are going in the trash. fucking waste of money and awful for the planet #boiling water to get rid of microplastics in a flaking nonstick pot... my life is a joke LMFAOOO #i was going to put a brand suggestion for nonstick here based on what lasted the longest for anyone who absolutely NEEDS nonstick #but when i search for who owns that brand and then searched with israel in quotes... first result was them being voted brand of the year #in israel... so never mind... dude fuck all these big companies i fucking hate this shit #oh btw ceramic is a good nonstick alternative but all my ceramics lasted less than 3 years... their lifespan is about 2 years apparently #theres way too many tags on this already but for anyone who reads them all HIIII and also you can literally find better furniture #on the side of the road than you will ever find on amazon or from ikea or where the fuck ever

"Does Shen Qiao even like Yan Wushi?"

I feel like it may be relatively easy for people to pick out "what does Yan Wushi like about Shen Qiao / what does YWS get out of yanshen." but I think a criticism/line of thought I see around is people struggling with "well what does Shen Qiao get out of all of this?" and like, "does SQ even like YWS, what with how YWS annoys him and gets him angry all the time."

But I think that actually is the crux of their relationship, lol. Because if you think about it, to everyone else, Shen Qiao is this lofty ideal, this untouchable immortal/仙, maybe even this obstacle or goal to conquer or shoot down.

Who else treats him casually and teases him and pokes at him to get emotional reactions out of him because they like that about him?

If he wants to seek people who treat him with respect and reverence, he just has to step out into the city square - hell, he just has to travel out and random people he meets are likely to treat him with that sort of dazzled awe or reverence too (we literally see this happen several times in the course of the novel).

So yeah, I think joking not joking, YWS makes him angry and feel Emotions and he likes that, YWS is enrichment for him, YWS pushes his buttons and his boundaries but reframing that it's pushing him out of his comfort zone and like hardening him off to the elements and realities of the world like a gardener with plants out of the greenhouse. But also, YWS treats him like a person, like a man, and not like Shen-daozun, Shen-daozhang, Shen-zhangjiao. To Yan Wushi, Shen Qiao is Shen Qiao. (and he loves to tease the shit out of him hehe (￣▽￣) )

CONVERSELY! This also gives Shen Qiao a space to *be* Shen Qiao. With Yan Wushi, he does not have to be Shen-daozun, Shen-daozhang, Shen-zhangjiao. He does not have to always be magnanimous and generous and a bastion of righteousness. These are in his nature, yet, but it's not ALL of his nature - he is, after all, still a man, a human, with human emotions -- including the full breadth of human emotions. Yes Yan Wushi annoys him and he shows it, but it's specifically BECAUSE of that that they are closer than him and anyone else in the world. He can "be himself" around Yan Wushi, he can get worked up and be petty and be snippy, and it's fine and won't cause catastrophes or undesired splashdown sociopolitical effects.

But also, he (lets himself?) get worked up by Yan Wushi - they HAVE that level of intimate understanding with each other where they can be like this and not have feelings hurt in any irreparable way. This isn't something that SQ does (lets himself do?) with just anyone, which we see throughout the novel reflected in his internal narration and comportment. So really, the fact that he DOES get annoyed with YWS shows that they are on a different, more "real" level with each other than SQ is with anyone else.

And like, they didn't get there in a day, sure, but imo we definitely see through the novel how they get there, so imo, the yanshen relationship is incredibly justified.

(I also say this bc I think literally every "I've connected the two dots" moments I've had in my reread, I would metaphorically flip the page only to be met with that connection I'd made spelled out on the page by MXS lmao. Like... yeah okay MXS *shakes your hand* you know your stuff. oh and also because I do think there may be some level of skepticism about yanshen esp from SQ's side floating around lol, but like... MXS did the legwork! yes chapter 45 happened, yes YWS never "apologizes" with words, but that doesn't mean that they don't share a deep mutual understanding of themselves and each other by the end, nor that they haven't moved past the events of literally 83 chapters ago, 96 if you count the extras -- a whole literal two-thirds of the novel ago. Like, I know we piss on the poor here and many educational systems around the world are in shambles these days, but work on developing reading comprehension skills, pls :') )

Why are Jimmy and Tango the most duo ever?

Like. I wouldn't have expected them. But it makes so much sense.

They're loud, they're brash (in a positive sense), they have big reactions. They both can't build (though looking at Jimmy's After Life Series and Tango's recent Hermitcraft video, that is clearly a fucking lie-). They both stumble and fall through Minecraft and die in the silliest ways. They both ran around like headless chickens when they respawned and wasted several seconds where they could've looked for their dropped stuff. They hype each other up, in a way; one's excitement and loudness feeds the other's excitement and loudness.

Plus, they were, like, really sweet with each other?? Jimmy telling Tango that it's okay when Tango apologized for getting them killed, Jimmy trying to reassure him by telling him 'hey, I'm probably going to get us killed as well', to which Tango immediately responds with a little laughter and 'that's fine', Tango going to help Jimmy when he saw Jimmy getting the 'Not today, thank you' advancement, Jimmy hyping the house Tango built, Jimmy showing off what he gathered each time when he went out, Tango worrying for Jimmy when he was cornered by Etho and Joel on the bridge... hello??? I'm here for this friendship!

In case you can't tell, I'm really looking forward to more shenanigans of this duo lmao
