ahhh the jhumka post was so cute, i couldn't even study properly bc i've been giggling over it the whole day 😭😭 like omg having them search for their name in ur mehendi, teaching them bollywood dance moves, re-watching classics like DDLG, having pani-puri competitions, having matching kurtas, saying the most cheesiest lines to them in ur mother tongue bc ur just too shy ahhhhhhh this brain-rot is going to kill me

anyway, warning: lots of messy thoughts about this under the cut !!

✿⁠ ➝ it's actually so easy for you to put sae's or rin's name in your mehendi, like usually i've heard people put in initials but honestly putting their entire name in is so easy and when you do it, your mehendi wali didi who's drawing his name in will definitely smirk at you like "kaun hai ye, hmmm?" [translation: who is this, hmmm?]

and when you finally do it and ask sae to find it (you didn't say his name was in ur mehendi, but just told him that there's a surprise thing he should try and find) he'll be so confused— but at the same time he finds this very interesting so he'll just take your hands and let his eyes wander over your palms with a blank expression. it takes him a few minutes because the way it's written is so small, but when he does find it, he's gonna give you the most incredulous look ever followed by a light shrug to play off the fact that his heart is beating really fast !!! ♡

"cute. i don't get why you did that, though."

"because i love you, sae." you huffed, rolling your eyes. "maybe i should replace it with somebody else's name if you don't get why i—"

"don't be stupid," he cuts you off with his low voice, before kissing the exact same spot on your palm where his name is as you caress his cheek right after. "only my name."

same goes for rin, except he's so much more flustered than his brother is !!!! the poor boy will take quite a lot of time to find the "surprise" you were talking about, because obviously he knows nothing about mehendi and you really just told him to go in blind— you'd have to show him yourself. when you do, he'll kinda go stiff at first as he reads the three letters of his name, and then look up at you with this adorable expression that makes your heart race.

"....that's my name." he says, a confused yet surprised tone to his voice as he looks at you with slightly wide eyes.

"yup," you giggle, continuing to point at the tiny writing on your palm as you stare at him with loving eyes. he bites his lower lip gently, running his fingertip over the skin. "people usually hide their lover's name in their mehendi and i wanted to do it with yours." you explain softly.

his reaction is too cute. the way he can't find anything to say in response to this is enough to satisfy you and make you feel happy. "i like that. does it, like, stay forever?"

"no, baby." you laugh. "mehendi goes away in days. it depends."

"oh, okay," he nods. "makes sense, but i kinda want it to stay there forever. can you get it done again or something?" his eyes shine with admiration as he asks with a slightly smug expression. he likes the idea of his name on your skin a little too much, it seems.

✿⁠ ➝ also, teaching reo bollywood dance moves ?!? yes. he surprisingly has— makes time for it. he's all in. will definitely be a tease about it, though— especially when you're teaching him how to 'thumka' jsnshdbsjd im blushing like hell rn. he will definitely stare at you with some type of look when you do it— and he might even feel tempted to just hold your waist as you show him the move. (he probably gives in to the temptation very quickly, reo can't really control his hands that well).

"damn, i didn't know you were that good with your hips—"

"reo!"

✿⁠ ➝ having pani puri competitions with rin?!?!?? he would get the spiciest one and 100% tease you if you ask for sweet or medium !!!!! he will find it hot if you have a high spice tolerance i think ;) also if you're eating pani puri in general, he'd be the type to eat like two from his plate and tell the pani puri guy to give the rest to you :( ALSOOOOO oh my god. if the pani puri water drips down your chin (it's happened to me before don't judge) he would already be wiping it off for you. also he will move away annoying strands of hair that are interrupting your pani puri session. (kinda gives me easily annoyed gf and chill bf vibes) has the guy give you a sukhi puri before you can even ask !!!!!!! ⁠♡ and if you want to go eat golas right after, he's all for it !!!! you have to guide him w the flavours though, telling him like "ok we hate this flavor but this other flavor is our bestie." and he's gonna nod and try whichever one you like the most. (my bestie is kala khatta HEHE)

✿⁠ ➝ ALSO DHWNJDSKKDMF i would DEFINITELY say some things to sae in hindi. because i am shy, and also because he's so fucking intimidating that honestly i don't want to compliment him to his face. whatever you say, he'll be like "what?" because obviously he doesn't understand and after a while as you continue to speak to him and compliment him in hindi with your shy smile, he gets super super super irritated because he can't understand and he wants to know what you're saying about him so bad. he wants to hear your compliments. your voice is so sweet and soft and the way you look at him as you talk in your language makes him feel things— he wants to know !!! he would remember some words and search them up later to piece it together (but instead of making the guy do so much work, just translate, pls) when he finally gets to know some of the things you said to him in hindi, he'll have to look away to stop himself from kissing you ♡

beat Forspoken, and while I probably will write an in-depth review down the line cuz i have many thoughts, I'm just going to pointform my basic thoughts while it's still fresh.

PROS

Great designs all around, the Tantas look so breathtaking with their extravagant designs and yet it doesn't take away from their world, it fits just right in. Absolutely love it.

Good world building most questions i had were answered either through the main story or extra archive stuff. Nothing felt too weird yknow

Gameplay gameplay gameplay. The magic system is literally amazing. I dont think I've had this much fun fighting in an rpg in a long time. Theres so much fun variety so you can focus on whats comfortable for you while also looking sick as fuck. Have i mentioned how good the battle system is cuz i avoid playing mage in every game because its such a slog but here its so fast paced and hits hard. Perfect for me.

The music is soooo good, I love the main theme and find myself humming it literally all the time.

Great graphics but maybe a lil too many particle effects but otherwise really pretty.

The story is technically a pro. Like its good, not bad, not great, just good. Basically something you'd find in the YA Fantasy section, thats the kinda quality it was. Which isn't a insult I did enjoy the story and characters. It just needed polish, fix up the dialogue and trim some of the story fat and i wouldn't have any complaints tbh. Probably would do better as a book series tho ngl, not sure what game format would have saved it.

Shoutout to the accessibility options. I'm glad more games are including these. I'll never understand complaints about them though, like just dont use them if you dont want/need to thats it.

ALMOST FORGOT THE COOLEST THING. THE NAILS. I'm sorry but the idea of using nail art to inscribe magic runes to give you buffs is the coolest fucking idea ever, why has this concept not been used till now. We always see rune tatoos or written on gear and stuff im fantasy media but this is such a neat ideaaaa and im forever thankful for it. Her capes are cool too I guess, with there was more variety rather than recolors tho. Kinda wish we could also get different outfits for her tho. Those jeans probably chafe.

CONS

THE OPEN WORLD IS SO BIG FOR NO GODDAMN REASON. I honestly wish this wasn't an open world game tbh, its so unnecessary. Halfway through the game, i got so frustrated and ignored everything that wasn't story points cuz getting everywhere takes so damn long, especially early on when you dont have fancy parkour or stamina. Easily its biggest fault for me.

I understand they thought it'd do way better than what happened but planning out a story as a trilogy in the gaming industry is not a smart move. I've yet to play the dlc so idk if we get closure but the loose ends werent a great way for the game to end.

Oh, the dialogue. Its easily one of the gamest weakest points. Like the type of dialogue i was writing in my original stories when i was 13 (not that ive gotten any better tbh). Basically, it's not what you expect from such a vaunted company. Frey is great when shes excited or angry, which is most of the time, but occasionally, they'll hit me with the cheesiest line I've heard in years, and idk how to handle it. Like the stuff she says in the final chapter is honestly so robotic, there is no natural flow present. Which is a pity cuz the actress was killing it tbh, like she definitely carried the lines with her emotion. Unfortunately, it couldn't save them. Like if it was something they dropped on ps3 or wii, it honestly would have done fine. What i mean to say is the dialogue is very outdated in this age of gaming. im actually surprised how out of touch it feels. Especially since otherwise its a solid game all around. Regarding Cuff and Frey banter you do have the option to make it less frequent or just turn it off but i never really found them annoying regardless.

Maybe its just me but the control scheme feels so weird, the games makes you feel like you should be gliding most of the time but holding O while spaming all those trigger buttons feels so awkward to me. But then again I also didnt care enough to change the control scheme so.

Ranked: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

So in all my franchise devouring, this is definitely one of THE most disappointing series I've covered. To be fair, nothing can touch what watching all the Paranormal Activity movies did to me, and there is more to love here, but this is going to be kinda rough all the same.

Texas Chainsaw 3D : So at bare minimum, most of the movies are genuinely well-made and look good. NOT THIS ONE. This was the cheesiest and most sellout, oddly enough, that the series ever gets. Imagine if TCM was the Friday the 13th 2009 remake with less charm. Now that's some stinky shit right there. The concept is interesting, a long lost Sawyer rediscovering her roots and meeting Leatherface, but the execution is downright dumb. It makes it so there are no heroes and no villains and everyone's just a gray lump. A notion that a movie with better production values maybe could handle. But that ain't this. Oh, and Leatherface looked like total shit, which is the only time I can honestly say that of this series. Even the bad entries get that basic part right.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) : What was I just saying about no heroes, no villains, just gray blobs that get turned into tomato bisk? Yeah, that. I don't quite know what the point is of making a film with intensely politically charged talking points and making every character be in the wrong, but I can tell you what it makes. A MESS. Where if you root for someone, chances are they'll do something awful, stupid, backwards, or go against their own principles at some point. This is probably the goriest entry, but who gives a damn? Gore is supposed to serve a story or characters (or ideally both) that you care about. Without that, it's corn syrup.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning : So... this is a prequel to the 2003 remake. About a quarter of the way through, I found myself going, wait. I thought they said in the previous movie this is the first time anyone ever made it out alive to report the murders... YEP. A prequel where it was preordained there will be no survivors. So they made sure to make everyone very thinly written so you wouldn't be too worried about that. The main thumbs up I have here is that it's one of my favorite Leatherface designs of the entire series. Otherwise, it's easily skipped.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation : The reputation this movie has is a bit off in my opinion. It's starting to get "so bad, it's good" cred. Yes, there are things about it that I would say fit that description. Particularly Matthew McConaughey's performance. All the over-the-top acting in general. But at the end of the day, the movie plays all of its extremely weird gags very straight. So the tone is dead serious while we introduce such non-TCM concepts as the illuminati. And it turns out, no, this isn't a comedy. The cocreator of the entire franchise was absolutely sincere. It shows, and it really brings the fun way down. It's ridiculous and way out in left field, but it doesn't mean for you to laugh. Yikes.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) : We're finally in watchable territory. And yet when I say that... The last half hour just becomes what it always is for these movies. A girl screaming non-stop while chased or tortured, and after several rounds of that, you start to check out. I've also never seen a final girl fuck up her own escape as much as this one does. Also, and this goes for TCM: The Beginning too, R. Lee Ermey is one of the most one-note, overrated actors I've ever seen, and his presence here is not helpful in making me enjoy the film. Otherwise, this is serviceable if TCM is your thing.

Leatherface (2017) : Of the later sequels/remakes/prequels, this is pretty fun. Imagine, a TCM movie having fun with the premise. Trying something different. With an origin story that wants you to guess which character will be our big ole chainsaw boy. While him turning out to be the least likely suspect might put some people off, I thought the transformation was pretty dang cool. There's a lot of strong acting going on here from Lili Taylor and Stephen Dorff. The absolutely wild girl with the burn scars was a welcome addition to rather a lot of nutty characters, so it's a real feat she managed to make herself stand out. Overall, a stronger film than I could have hoped for that late in the game.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (OG) : WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S NOT NUMBER ONE!? I mean, it's not. Not for me. I find this movie to be a pretty difficult sit. There are a lot of tiresome and forgettable characters. Our villains are loud and annoying. But the grit this was filmed with, the determination to get it made, the messages that lie underneath, and the character of Leatherface all shine through. It's an important film that ushered in a new era of horror, so while I don't find it that watchable, I deeply respect it.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 : This is the movie The Next Generation wishes it was. Tobe Hooper decided he could never follow the first film, so he decided to make a parody of his own work. Genius. It's hilarious, disgusting, lurid, wild, and extremely fitting with the decade it was made in. Stretch is by far my favorite final girl in the series. Dennis Hopper knew exactly what movie he was in. And the soundtrack is great, too.

Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 : Sorry. Yeah, I'm sorry. But I love this one best. You've got Ken Foree kicking ass. You have Viggo Mortensen serving cunt. The Sawyer family actually manages to feel like a loving and supportive family in a twisted way, which is a trope I love. They realized they can't up the ante when Hooper has already set the bar so high, so they don't try. They make ridiculous fights, silly dialogue, and have fun. Fun is always the biggest component for me as to whether or not a film will be a winner. So uh... winner winner, chicken dinner?

Thus my journey ends. I want to add that aside from that dead last entry, even when I didn't love whatever movie I happened to be watching, they did right by Leatherface. He's one of those Jason-y slashers that you want to hug, because he probably deserves better than being used like an attack dog by his own family. I always enjoyed watching him, and every actor brought a different physicality and presence. So, no, I didn't hate every second. And if Leatherface seems intriguing to you as a character, you'd definitely get something out of going over this franchise, too.

She heard a muffled thwap and a quiet "Ow!" and then Benny's voiced jumped in. "Girls always like flowers. Ain't that right, Cap'n?" She didn't need to turn around to know his question had been delivered with a shit-eating grin.

"Don't get any ideas, Benjamin," she said crisply. "You know the way to my heart—"

"—is a freshly sharpened chainsaw!" crowed the boys in chorus.

Benny remained undeterred. "If Kyra gave 'em to ya, you'd like 'em."

She turned around, stared at him just enough to make him sweat a little, then said, "You're damn right I would." And then she flashed him a smirk, and the rig filled with hoots of laughter.

The boys on the crew knew Kyra, even the two rooks, because Kassandra never failed to show her off at every start-of-season barbecue and end-of-season picnic, and this year, after they'd spent a day floating the river in a rowdy flotilla of wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, and kids, the boys all agreed that Kyra was a mighty fine woman, and that the Captain was lucky to have her indeed.

It's why none of them minded the time they'd spent parked by the side of the road while Kassandra had run out and snagged a big handful of flowers from a patch growing wild on the hillside, even though it would delay them all from Going Home On Leave for the first time in three months.

It's why they also knew today was extra special — even beyond going home.

⚘ there is no denying how frustrated bakugo would be at having a crush.

⚘ on one hand, he doesn’t want a distraction from his own goals, but on the other, all he wants to do is hold you in his arms and keep you there.

⚘ he can’t even handle his own thoughts sometimes, he’s constantly battling himself with what he should do.

⚘ but no matter what, he’ll NEVER admit it.

⚘ well not at least until he’s sure you feel the same way, of course.

⚘ gets the overwhelming urge to protect you and keep you safe, he hates seeing you upset or in pain.

⚘ would not realize what these feelings are until one of his friends mentions it to him, he’d deny it at first and say that you’re nothing more than good friends.

⚘ he stops and you follow his lead and look at him as he confesses how much he’s liked you since the beginning, that it wasn’t just him joking around.

⚘ and in that moment he notices how beautiful you look standing there, a cute expression of amusement written over your features as the cherry blossom petals cascade around you.

A/N: Fluff, fluff everywhere after the angst I've been writing lately you deserve some fluff. The cheesiest thing I've written btw. Enjoy!

The garage door opened slowly with a loud squeal, the warm light of the day illuminating the room and revealing the well known place where you spended a good part of the time with Rey. When it wasn't in your home, it was here in Maz’s old garage in the back of her cantine, The Castle.

A smile curved your lips as you remembered all the memories you and Rey had built in this place. All those days sitting on the edge of the work table, watching her skilled hands repairing motors and every sort of mechanical devices while you talked about everything and nothing at all at the same time.

Your attention focused on the vehicle in the middle of the room, the bright red motorbike amazed you the moment you saw it.

“You repaired it.” you murmured impressed as you remembered just how old and broken this thing used to look when Rey found it, it looked so different now, so new.

"You like it?” Rey asked smiling proud of her work.

“How did you manage to make it look this good?” you said tracing figures with your fingers along the bike.

"With a few old pieces I found” Rey shrugged and smiled at you as she explained. “Maz let me use her trash and some old parts she had laying around. Got some help from Zorii, too."

"It's beautiful. “ you said admiring her creation.

"Not more than you.” she teased giving you a quick kiss. "Come one, I want to show you how fast can run." Rey told you taking her place in the motorbike and offering you a hand to climb behind her.

“Fine.” You chuckled wrapping your arms around her waist “As long as I can hold you this close.”

“Please do” she said before igniting the powerful engine of the motorbike that rumbled as Rey accelerated sending the bike flying through the streets, it took you by surprise which made you hold even tighter to her waist and lean closer to her body and you knew she was more than fine with that.

Once you got used to the motion you observed the way you passed fastly through the city from passing the crowded streets filled with cars that made you close your eyes more than once for how close they were, to leave the main city to the highway. It was incredible how fast this bike could go and more impressive how Rey managed to control it with ease and calm.

The sides of the highway suddenly started to fill with more and more trees instead of cold buildings and after exiting a tunnel you found yourself surrounded by nature, tall trees at both sides of the road and carefully looking up you discovered beautiful bows made out of intertwined branches, the warm light sliding through the empty spaces casting a soft green light over the road.

The wind in your hair, the velocity, the way you hold Rey's slim body, everything is perfect, peaceful. It’s an instant captured in your memory, you held her tight happily. There couldn’t be a better anniversary gift than this.

The motorbike slowed down as Rey took a small rocky road that you both laugh as the small bike seemed to jump whenever the tyres met the smallest little rock on the way. Then she finally stopped and leaned the bike helping you climb off, following you after.

“This is the place I wanted to show you.” she smiled taking your hand on hers as she guided you to the end of the road. It was a lookout, hidden between a few trees. You placed your hand over the old stone railing and admired the distant city, your city and the way the sunset was starting to fall over the buildings.

You were speechless, it was breathing. You couldn’t help but feeling a bit sentimental, especially since it brought you back the memories of this past year. What a chaotic year and yet you wouldn’t change any single bit of it, because Rey was in your life, she turned your world upside down and that made her the best thing that has happened to you.

A year. It sounded like a lot and yet so little. So many days and even more hours, minutes, memories. Felt so long and at the same time felt like it passed so fast, seemed like yesterday was the day you were hiding with her behind the stadium seats for the first time. Definitely, the most fantastic year of your entire life.

"Thanks for bringing me here" you murmured eyes focused on the view.

Rey’s body tensing dragged you out of your thoughts and as you turned to look at her you found her gaze focused on you, tender eyes and subtle smile that made your heart fall for her once again. However there was doubt in her eyes, nervousness.

“I want to give you something, Y/N" she said.

"I didn't bring you anything" you said a bit sad and mentally cursed yourself for forgetting to bring something for her, it was a special occasion after all.

"You didn't have to, don't worry. Having you here is all I ask" she assured you. You watched her pulling something out of the pocket on her hip, holding it for you to see it. A ring

"Rey…" you gasped as you saw the beautiful piece on her hand.

"It's not what you think," she chuckled "I'm not asking you to marry me, not yet" she teased with a small wink and a light smile.

"Then what is it?"

"A promise." She told you, she was nervous you saw it on her face and it was not usual to see her that way. She was quiet for a moment feeling your gaze on her "I'm sorry, I'm just thinking on the right thing to say. Things are moving fast with graduation coming soon and everything and I just- " she giggled nervous. "Shit, this is not going the way I planned."

You looked at her long and delicately as if you were looking at her for the first time, her silliness just letting you know how much she meant this. Taking her hand you encouraged her to keep going. She sighed.

"This is promise to a future full of light, love and togetherness, whatever happens this next months. It's a promise," she told you meeting your eyes, the light of the sunset making them seem softer than ever. "to always love you."

Rey let guided your hand she was holding, you watched her carefully placing the small ring on your finger. It fit perfectly, meant to be for you and only you.

Unable to contain yourself you pulled her into a kiss, sweet and true. You wanted her to know just how much you loved her.

"I love you, Rey. With all my heart." you murmured breaking away just inches away from her "And even though I'm unsure about the future, I'm certain that I love you." You said searching for her hazel eyes "And I will love you forever."

Rey and you exchanged loving gazes for a moment both thinking just how lucky you were to found each other, to love one another. She smiled at you before brushing her lips against yours one more time, sealing the promise.

As the sunset kept its way down the city and the night started to consume the last light rays you found yourself holding Rey's waist, resting your chin on her shoulder as she drove back home.

Your heart filled with love and hope of a future with Rey by your side and with a promise you were intend to keep.
