Yeah so this was totally not me realising the tragedy of darth plagueis the wise, palpatine and anakin skywalker(or darth vader) are more likely than not connected. How exactly? It's under the cut.

The Plagueis novel is definitely the most lore-heavy Star Wars novel I've ever read, but the real takeaway from this book is that young Palpatine is a bigger shithead than Kylo Ren, which I really didn't think was possible
