OKAY, THIS HAS BEEN DRIVING ME ABSOLUTELY BONKERS FOR A WHILE NOW.
Dear Fiddleford McGucket fanartists:
First of all: draw how you want. The following is not intended to be judgmental, just educational. <3
On to business:
Here is how you fingerpick a banjo.
This is three-finger. There are more styles, but this is how I play. (I did not include fingerpicks because Fidds doesn't use them in the show and they're a pain to draw; you can also play just fine without them, although they are useful.)
Fingerpicking is usually done on a five-string banjo. Old Man McGucket's theme sounds like it's fingerpicked to me. Please note that your pinky and ring finger are planted on the banjo itself, next to the strings.
The first two images are to show posture, the third image is what it would look like to draw:
When I'm just holding my banjo and not playing it, my pinky and ring finger just naturally rest this way because it's comfy.
Here is how you play clawhammer style.
This is just an approximation; I almost never play clawhammer. The big thing is that your fingers curl in in a "claw" and you pick with your thumb.
Here are the tuning pegs on a five-string banjo.
In the show, Fiddleford has a four-string banjo, not five-string. (We see two banjos; they are both four-string.) Honestly, that surprised me. I'm not sure what the folk scene looked like in the 80s, but most players you see today have five-strings, so I think they were just streamlining the design.
A four-string banjo has four tuning pegs at the top, like any other instrument. The fifth tuning peg is about a third of the way down the neck.
BONUS:
Nobody gets into this much detail, but clever eyes will notice that the string widths look funny. If you have played a bass or guitar, you're used to the top string being lowest and thickest, the bottom string - which is the "first" string - being highest and thinnest. A four string banjo is tuned like this, but with a five-string banjo, the fifth string is the same diameter as the first.
Anyway, there are plenty of great banjo video and image tutorials on the internet if you want to get into the weeds, but I got the impression that a lot of you have literally never seen a banjo being played often enough to even realize how different it is from a guitar. Some people absolutely do strum banjos like guitars - in fact, I think that's more common with four-strings - but the McGucket music we hear is very obviously not being strummed.
There! Now you may freely choose to draw his hand however you want to, and it won't be from a place of ignorance. <3
(Oh, one last thing: that round thing that comprises the body of the banjo is literally just a drum. Drumming it is fun. You can and should draw Fiddleford tapping his banjo with the tips of his fingers like I do.)

Exploring dofus-le-film.com and talking about movie-related events. [PART 1]
This will not go into the goldmine that is the interview Tot and Xa give about Joris. This is just a little, self-indulgent post. I hope you will enjoy it nevertheless.
The first silly action I took was extracting the site's icon and enlarging it in Aseprite, so here's your daily dose of cute official Joris pixel art. Anyway.
I love how the movie blurb literally lies about Khan being Joris's life-long idol.
CHARACTER BIOS.
Most of them include the information we already know, so I will only be pointing out things I personally find interesting.
For example - this art here depicts Joris's bald head under the hood as very round. Very useful info for us joris enjoyers. Reblog to slap his bald head, like to slap his bald head.
(Hacks up blood) Deeply caring in nature... papa poule... It is the second time, when Kerubim is called that, in his character bios, and I would like you to remember are these different explanations of this word combo:

Anyway, I love how non-specific and non-alarming these character bios are. We can't scare the hoes by saying that beneath her cool exterior she wants to kill people around her and also drink 20 gallons of vodka, so "shy and stuck up" it shall be.
Again, it's hilarious how non-threatening these character bios are, considering Lilotte's whole parent thing is basically: (substitute "women" with "kids with families")
Coloring pages + Crayon Contest
A part of me wanted to be "haha, I colored all these coloring pages, for the Full Understanding of The Experience of this movie."
Then I realized that, as a person who is making a Joris painted music video, and had drawn at least 1:07 minutes worth of artwork of him and some other characters of this movie, I would rather-- [remembers that suicide jokes are bad] take cactus for a wife, than draw him for this blog too. I'm sorry.

Atcham, Joris, and Lilotte were holding the cake together. Lilotte is sitting on Yugo's shoulder, while Joris is standing on Kerubim's arms. It is reasonable to assume that Yugo turned to the camera, which made Lilotte turn as well, which made Atcham fall, which made Kerubim step away, and the only people carrying the cake who are still even a bit happy are Joris and Yugo.
Adamai is getting ready to catch Joris when in like 5 seconds all of them are going to be tumblring down Atcham-style.

Thinking again about how the other day that anon wrote me wondering why Louis was so popular with older adult women and I had a couple ideas but was basically like idk IS he or is it just the same amount as any other pop star but then the other day BBC posted that video of 1D members doing 1D songs* solo without Louis in it and the post was like go comment on all these platforms and I was like what the heck it's not like I use my facebook for much else- but that meant I ended up looking a few times at the other comments (being mad about Louis' exclusion) and like I KNOW it's FB so ofc it's skewed by who uses that... but like damn, there ARE a lot of middle aged and older ladies for Louis! Like A LOT!! So again I am thinking about it and I would love to know what other people think might be the reason... my ideas plus footnote under cut-
~He’s so fucking SMART and the older you get the more appealing and necessary that is to appreciate someone. ~His music has always been in large part 90s style stuff which may draw in folks who already loved that kind of music because they’re old enough to remember it. ~We’re queer and were drawn into this fandom by crying our eyes out over how beautiful baby Harry and Louis were together and wanted to give them the world and protect them (is this age dependent? see below for why maybe I guess but idk)
But my top theory is that ~it's based on the combination of him being this beautiful goodhearted boy all the shitty things we saw happening to him for so long and wanting so much to be able to DO SOMETHING, to make things better for him and give him everything. Not saying this is age based but maybe this works more strongly on older folks than on people who feel like they are in the same boat?
Anyway would love to hear if other people think 1) there are more older louies than other celeb fandoms/ the other members of 1Ds solo fandoms and 2) if so what do you think it is about Louis? or 3) no, all these things apply to me but I'm only (whatever young age) so that can't be it
*I have since figured out why they did that and it isn't because Louis is blacklisted or whatever it's because they just pulled their footage that they own of 3 of them playing BBC Big Weekend which Louis hasn't done, and footage of Zayn from his public insta, which isn't something they could do for Louis- to include him they would have had to like get footage from his management or something they can't just use whatever off youtube and it was just a silly SM post they weren't gonna do all that

"Cap gesture" & "raised fist gesture" - my comment to the recent bjyx cpn theory
One of the many reasons why mtjjs (Yibo's fans) dislike bjyx/yizhan cpfs so much is that they associate every little thing Yibo does with the other guy (xz), thus diminishing and depriving Yibo of his individuality and uniqueness. If it was just one thing every once in a while, I think most of us would just roll our eyes and let go, but when it happens every day, with every project, performance, commercial, etc., it's very hard to ignore. When you add to this our rational thinking and the knowledge that it's all a lie and that the theories these people create are made up out of thin air, irritation sets in.
Think about it, if you like someone a lot, you won't be able to calmly watch someone try to "erase" your favorite person by presenting them as someone else's shadow.
One of the mean ways to belittle individuality is to identify each little gesture with another person, especially if these are related to the personality and interests that define the essence, the core of this exact human being. Especially the gestures repeated since childhood, which are thus sweet memories, should be sacred.
Why am I writing about this now? I was frustrated to see cpfs trying to identify part of Yibo's dance at One and only promotional event with an unrelated person. It's about the „cap gesture".
The first thing is that this gesture is probably a natural part of the choreography and thanks to the video from another dancer, we can see the context.
"Cap gestures” are quite characteristic for dance / music styles like hip-hop and krump, less for breakdance, but such a fusion of styles is not unusual. When we add Yibo's roots - he's a dancer who started as a b-boy to change his dance style to hip-hop later, we can clearly see the sense of incorporating such a gesture into the choreography.
The "cap gesture” was also often used by Yibo in his childhood.

Cpfs try to convince you that the gesture Yibo did during Ono dance is not a "cap gesture", but more like "finger glasses" (and thus imitating the xz’s gesture), but I don't think it resembles it at all.
We know that Yibo is a professional with a deep knowledge and understanding of streetdance, so to assume that he would incorporate a gesture that has little to do with streetdance into the choreography at such an important moment (promotion of his breakdance film) seems very unlikely.
The second thing I want to mention is another part of cpn. I mean the „raised fist gesture” that Yibo often uses in his performances, and which is also something that cpfs like to „link” to xz.
Well, my question is: was this gesture invented by xz and therefore is it completely unique for him? Answer: of course not! The gesture is a universal symbol of resistance and unity, the first appearance of which dates back to the mid-nineteenth century!
In addition, we also know that Yibo is an anime lover, and this gesture is characteristic of the popular anime "One piece" that Yibo likes.

To speculate that using this gesture would have anything to do with a former coworker is totally irrational. Please, be serious 😂
As for the fact that the „same” gestures appeared in the xz’s Doujin video a day later.. I don't feel like being attacked, so all I could say is that if you take the time and do some research, you'll quickly notice that the "Yibo first, xz later" "pattern” is repeated in 90% of cpn, be it issues of clothes, behavior, posting etc.. Draw your own conclusions! Jiayou! 😉

The Lost Boys are a bunch of hoarders. I can see each of them having a massive collection of things from over the years and from their victims.
If they see something they like they will take it. For example if their latest victim has a nice leather jacket that looks like it'll fit them, well, it's theirs now because it never hurts to have a spare -- or twenty more. It's the same thing with jewelry and any cash in wallets.
That's not to say they'll keep everything. What they don't want will most likely be pawned off. Some things they like and actively collect while other things they will get because of necessity like candles. Vampires have better eyesight in the night than normal humans, but that doesn't mean they can see in total darkness. This is most likely why they had all those candles lit in the cave.
The cash taken from their victims isn't only used for food, but towards candles, batteries, gasoline, and other things that aren't easily found on their victims or on the boardwalk.
Most of the time they steal shit. They don't even need to use their hypnosis-compel ability or illusions to get want they want. Though I can definitely see them doing things the old fashion way just for the fun of the challenge it brings. Other times they avoid stealing if it'll be something that draws too much attention after a while. After all, the more often something goes missing the easier it is for unwanted eyes (like vampire hunters) to catch on and make the connection.
Would they even need to worry about being caught on camera or video? One of the points in the film was that vampires don't have reflection in mirrors. We saw this with Michael's reflection being transparent because he was only half-turned, but what if that wasn't the norm anymore (as it could've just been an old mirror)?
Vampires traditionally couldn't be captured in mirrors because they were made with silver, and thus old timey cameras which used silver nitrate plates also couldn't capture the vampire's image. However, modern mirrors are made with aluminum and advances in technology has made it so film/(digital) cameras can do a lot, even capture vampires just fine, well, that's the theory anyway.
I suppose it'll be up to the fans and writers to decide if the boys can be capture or not. Will they be invisible no matter what? Or did that vampirism aspect only apply in the past (because silver was used and is typically a weakness for most monsters), but they can now be caught on cameras? If so, will they look like normal people? Will their eyes give off a weird reflective glare like most animals do in photographs? Or will their imagine be super blurry no matter what anyone does to try to "enhance" it, while everything else in the photo (or video) stays super clear and normal?
I digress. The point is that I can totally see them having piles of stuff scatter around their hotel-cave.
Each one will have a pile of clothes. I wouldn't be surprise if some of it is out of style too. They either forgot about it or still keep it around to help feed the fire because why else do they have those drum barrels around?
They also got a lot of books, vinyl records and cassette tapes. I imagine on slower days or late at night when everything is closed they find ways to entertain themselves, be it by reading, listening to music or the radio. If not, they probably have a collection of various games too like darts, playing cards, monopoly, charades, chess, etc.
As for what does each one personally collect?
Hmm, I guess Marko with the state of his jacket he probably collects patches and pins. Maybe even owns a few sewing thread sets with other art and craft supplies.
In the cave there was some seashell mobile or wind chimes hanging around. I think Dwayne is the one to make it (or one of the boys got it from the souvenir shop knowing it'd be something he'd like). He might like collecting seashells. I can also see him collecting some books, animal bones, antique keys, sea glass, ammonites, pretty or interesting looking rocks, etc.
Paul is probably the one to expand the collection of music and games. Batteries too, though I wouldn't be surprise if all the boys add onto it and make sure their stockpile of batteries never runs too low. Maybe movies and concert ticket stubs? I don't see him paying for it though, so he probably snatches them from others. He might even collect or make his own guitar picks too.
As for David...I don't actually know. Probably books, oh, maybe cool looking zippo lighters? He does smoke so that would make sense. Oh, what if he has a collection of pocket and folding knives? It certainly wouldn't be hard to come by. I imagine there's been plenty of times of people thinking they can take him on with just a knife (this of course is before he reveals he's a vampire). He would probably find it amusing and be like 'oh, how nice' if it's something he doesn't have already. He'll be picky about it though. No shitty quality knives unless it's aesthetically pleasing.
Other possibilities is watches, badges, matchbooks, dice, shot glasses or keychains from states/countries they've been to (though this might be more of a Marko and Paul thing) and coins.

Awakening
The last person Mia expects to see walk into her hospital room is Phoenix Wright.
The doctor explained to her the circumstances of her injury and subsequent coma. He'd done it with the kind of patient benevolence that would have infuriated Mia, if it weren't for the aching of her body and the wall calendar saying 2022.
She expected Maya, maybe. They said they'd call her, when Mia's first words upon awakening were just her sister's name repeated, but Maya must be the Kurain Master by now, busy and far away. She hadn't expected to see the boy she'd defended, the man whose career she'd only so briefly touched.
Phoenix stares at her. There's a stupid-looking blue beanie in his hands. "Hey, Chief."
"They don't care about you"
The beauty of dressing as brilliantly and as boldly as Klavier does, is that it is child's play to navigate even Los Angeles without drawing attention. The people expect the purple jacket, the Gavinner necklace, the styled blond hair.
He has given it to them recently enough. Last week, even. He roared into the concert venue's parking lot on his favorite blood-red motorcycle, to thunderous cheering and eye-watering camera flashes. Dozens of autographs granted. A few soundbites. He played the — what was it the Fraulein Detective called him — ja, yes, the glimmerous fop to a tee, a loose smile as he ignored the few questions about the Misham trial. Most of the media understood the deal. If they accepted that Klavier the lawyer would not answer their questions, they would get as much of Klavier the performer as they wanted.
Not as much that night. He was there to lend publicity, not steal it. The Gavinner's opener from that last peformance with Lamiroir had had their own tour derailed from the murder case. Attending their concert was the least Klavier could do. Not a hardship, to be surrounded by music and people who paid no attention to murder trials, even ones as big as Kristoph’s.
Today, Klavier dons a disguise. A baggy blue windbreaker that hides his excellent figure, his necklace, chain and rings absent, topped off with an inspired final touch, if he says so himself. A plain black beanie, all of his hair stuffed and twisted within it. He even abandons the motorcycle.
His ride is a beat-up car, picked up from an out-of-the way garage. He drives for an hour or so, strip mall after strip mall and yellowed hill after yellowed hill passing him by on the highway, the telephone wires and billboards blending together. His head grows warm. The car is too quiet.
He opens a window. Leaves the radio untouched. The beanie stays on.
The prison’s parking lot is mostly empty, and when he passes his ID to the guard, the woman barely blinks. All part of the routine.
Not part of the routine is the guard returning within five minutes to say that Kristoph will see him. Klavier stumbles out of his plastic seat so fast that he almost trips. Kristoph never sees him. Klavier has made the drive every week since his return to LA. He’s been turned away every time.
Perhaps Kristoph’s final collapse in court has brought about a change of heart. Unlikely. Yet an opening is an opening, and is meant to be pursued.
Solitary Cell 13 is as plush as it appeared in Wright’s video. Plusher, possibly. Kristoph sits in the floral pink armchair with crossed arms. As Klavier steps closer to the cell bars, a small smile grows on Kristoph’s face.
“Come to boast of your victory?” Kristoph looks as put together as ever. “You always were a sore winner, Klavier. It doesn’t suit you.”
“I wouldn’t call it my victory.” Klavier points out the inaccuracy before Kristoph can. “I lost the Misham trial. I didn’t prosecute your case.” He watched from the gallery as Prosecutor Debeste brought the trial to its final conclusion.
“It’s good to know the limits of your abilities,” says Kristoph. The corner of his eye twitches. “I would invite you in, but I am no longer trusted with that privilege.”
“I prefer the view out here,” says Klavier. The hallway light flickers above him, a crackling that catches his ears’ attention and will not let go of it.
“Weren’t you listening? You don't get to choose,” snaps Kristoph. His gaze narrows. “Why are you here?”
For the first time, Klavier understands his brother. As neat as his hair is and as pressed as his suit is today, Kristoph will always appear to him as he did at the end of the Misham trial. A pathetic, cruel man, with no allies and no escape.
The purpose of Kristoph’s question then, is plain to any lawyer who’s been in court. A trap.
Klavier walks into it. “You’re my brother.”
Satisfaction sparks in Kristoph’s eyes, and Klavier is brought back to a distant memory, of his mother cooing over the similarity of the brothers’ eyes, over a teenage Kristoph’s disgruntled objection that their eyes were different colors.
Kristoph tilts his head. “Does that mean something to you now?”
“It has always meant something to me,” answers Klavier. More honesty. More fodder for his brother.
“I find that hard to believe,” says Kristoph, an edge creeping into his voice, “given the way you offered me up to the slaughter.” He laughs.
Klavier loathes that laugh. In a few months, he will never hear that laugh again. Sooner, if Kristoph decides so.
“And your attire,” continues Kristoph, “is even more ridiculous than usual. Are you taking tips from Wright?”
Kristoph glares at Klavier’s beanie with more passion than Klavier himself has felt for any article of clothing. It hadn’t been intentional, but as with music, who is to say where one’s influences came from?
“Perhaps,” says Klavier.
“Wright.” Kristoph spits the name. “Don’t be naive. They don’t care about you.”
“What?”
“Phoenix Wright. Apollo Justice. Trucy Wright. That detective.” The growl in Kristoph’s throat grows with every sentence, and Klavier finds himself distantly grateful that Skye's name has escaped Kristoph’s notice. “None of them care for you. You were nothing more than a tool for a trial already planned.”
“Oh,” says Klavier. He shrugs. “I’m aware.”
“You—what?” Kristoph rears back as if he were slapped.
“Do you think it was sentiment that moved me?” Klavier steps closer. “A worthy adversary in court. A teenage fan. A man I got disbarred. A capable if distracted subordinate. Did you think I cared more for them than you? I thought you were cleverer than that, ja?”
Kristoph’s mouth moves, but no sound emerges.
Klavier has a dazzling smile, one that breaks the hearts of men and women around the world, one that can make the peak of a guitar solo even higher, one that photographs beautifully. He flashes it. “At the end of the day, Kristoph, all of us are tools. Of each other, of the system, of the truth. The past year has taught me that much.”
“Caring about me,” says Klavier, “is not something I expect of them. Or ever will, I think.”
“It’s time for you to go,” says Kristoph, a venomous look in his eyes. Of all the points in their conversation to upset him so, Klavier had not anticipated this one. Kristoph raises his voice. “Guard!”
“I will be back next week,” says Klavier, though his brother must already know that. “Do you have any food requests? I assume the guards will permit it, given your cell.”
“I can get anything I want here.” Kristoph’s expression grows more spiteful. “Your assistance is unnecessary.”
“You have always been good at going after what you wanted.” Klavier laughs. He raises his hand to run it through his hair, only to run into his beanie. He skims his fingertips against the top edge of the brim, well-aware that Kristoph has cataloged the mistake.
The guard arrives to escort him out. As he turns to leave, Klavier adds, “I learned that from watching you.”
For your own good
"Athena, have you found Aura's-"
"No," says Athena, her voice distant.
The headphones are so light. That's Athena's first thought, when she picks them up from the mess of a desk drawer. Her second is that her hands are so big around each of them. Had her head really been that small?
"What?" says Simon's voice. "Oh."
When Athena looks up, she thinks: You're standing too far away.
He's back by the lab window, his hands behind his back as a look of surprise crosses his face. They're used to each other in court, she swears, a flurry of "Objection!"s and "Silence!"s, a case and the truth on the line. Here in this lab that belongs to neither of them but is undeniably theirs, Athena is reminded of all those times Simon casually patted her head as he walked by, or the few occasions she'd dared to tug on his sleeve to ask him something.
She makes a face. It'd be weird for any of that to happen now. She doesn't want it to. But she does want to be friends with Simon. She stomps over to him so he can actually see the stupid headphones.
Simon frowns. "I thought I cleaned it off and left it with you."
"Mom always kept extras in the lab." Athena shrugs. "In case I forgot them upstairs." Her eyes dart to the photo of her mother on Aura's desk. "I'm surprised she didn't throw them all away."
Simon opens his mouth, and then shuts it, apparently thinking better of what he was about to say. Athena spins one of the headphones around her index finger, letting it go round after round before catching it in her palm.
It's funny. As a kid, Athena liked Aura more than Simon. Simon was new and talked way too loudly and spent so much time with her mom using words she didn't understand. Her mom left conversations with him using even more of those words. Athena didn't enjoy one of the few voices she could stand being taken from her that way.
Aura liked and knew how to explain her robots to anyone, even Athena and often Junie. And sure, sometimes Aura got into moods where she'd spend hours on her robots, with Mom saying she didn't want to be disturbed, but Athena understood that. She hid from people so often herself. It wasn't like now, every person an opportunity for discovery, a potential puzzle to be probed and resolved. Back then, people's voices bled straight into her heart with no interpretation to mediate, a flood of warring emotions, false faces, lies to themselves. Retreating to the lab to scrawl out a drawing felt so much better. Mom and Aura had never minded.
Athena wanders over to where they've organized all the other stuff they've found. "We can toss these into the throw pile."
She's halfway through digging through the rest of the mess in drawer when-
"The headphones were to help you," says Simon suddenly, from his own messy corner.
"I know," snaps back Widget, before Athena can. She doesn't hate them. She's just not that little kid who needs them anymore.
When she looks at Simon, there's a tension around his eyes, as if he needs Athena to understand this. As if he hadn't already said this in court. As if it's important he says it outside of court too.
Maybe it is, Athena thinks, remembering all those hours that his sister and her mother spent working together here, spinning up ideas that had nothing to do with space travel. She shifts the headphones to a different pile, the one for unfinished projects that other engineers might pick up. "Maybe they can help someone else."
Simon opens his mouth. Pauses. This time he charges ahead, saying, "She wanted you to see the world, you know." His words are slow. He's reluctant to betray her mother's confidence, all these years later. "She hoped that your ability could be a gift to you, not a curse. That you wouldn't have to spend years trapped here. Or anywhere."
Every word is wrapped in a thin layer of fear.
Athena wants to scream. She wants to yell at him again for what he did, to ask him if her mother's words were why he did it, if it was worth what has become of his sister.
Instead, she grins, holding out her hand in a peace sign. "I've been to so many countries, Prosecutor Blackquill. Way more than you!" She takes a step back towards the desk, and then turns back to point at him. "What was the most annoying thing about my mom as a mentor?"
"What?" Simon looks grievously offended. It makes him look years younger. "Your mother was an excellent mentor."
"There had to be something you didn't like. Anything. You have to tell me, you know."
He squints. "I'll....think on it. I doubt there is anything."
"Think harder! Come up with something before I'm done with this drawer." Athena dives back in.
Beauty
It's unusual of him, Miles knew, to have disclosed his history with Wright to Kay. There were too many possible causes to fault. That Kay was an adult, for long enough that she'd stopped reminding him of that fact. That they were thousands of miles away from Los Angeles - her on a grand tour of Europe for purposes he'd prefer not to hear about, him studying yet another law system in yet another country. That halfway through pouring small glasses of scotch from the bottle kept in his desk, he realized it was Von Karma's favorite kind.
That Wright's latest email revealed little and accepted even less.
Kay leaned back against his desk next to him. She gestured with her glass, the liquid sloshing dangerously within it. Kay spoke before Miles could encourage some restraint. "Mr. Edgeworth! That's so beautiful, your friend would make a very good thief. Not as good as me, of course."
"I-" Miles sputtered. He reached up to place his own empty glass on the desk behind him. "A thief? How does that make any sense?"
Kay gulped down more scotch. When she grimaced at the taste and tried to hide it, Miles couldn't help but think of the first time Franziska had drank with him and Von Karma. He'd never seen Franziska drink whiskey since Von Karma's arrest, only the occasional pilsner.
(He tried to remember if his father had drank.
Miles could ask Mr. Shields.
Miles wouldn't.)
The comparison with Franziska was dismissed from his mind when Kay passionately clenched her fist to her chest, her eyes softening.
"Von Karma stole you," explained Kay with unwarranted confidence - perhaps he shouldn't have poured her that second glass - and she turned towards him, "and Mr. Wright stole you back!"
"It's not theft when it's a person..."
It seemed there would be no end to the thief metaphors. Or the Jammin' Ninja metaphors, for Kay then deemed it necessary to compare their past to some absurd plotline from that inferior show, casting Wright as the Ninja and Miles as Princess Misola. Ridiculous. Wright had no knack for music.
Furthermore, there was a Steel Samurai storyline from three years ago that fit the situation far better.
The conversation drifted to which European countries they've both been to and which they haven't, Miles grateful that Kay either forgot to or declined to ask what happened with Wright next. He had no intention of spreading the news of the man's disbarment. A disbarment he knows must be unwarranted.
Yet the few emails he'd sent to Wright had been met with nothing more than polite bemusement, casual acceptance of the end of a career and mentions of that new daughter.
If Wright needed him in the courtroom again, Miles would be on a plane tonight. If Wright was in the hospital again, Miles would be on a plane tonight. But Wright's emails were clear. Wright had no need of him, and so Miles had no right to interfere.
Stole you back, Kay had said. Thieves, as did most criminals, cared little for what their rights were.
Miles Edgeworth was no thief. He was a prosecutor, through and through.
I owe Wright too much, thought Miles, his chest warm from the alcohol, to be the one to steal him.
"It's broken"
“I spy an incongruity between our victim and these surroundings. The full autopsy report might offer an explanation, of course, but…Sebastian. What do you think explains it?”
Sebastian had heard the last question a lot ever since he started shadowing Mr. Edgeworth. Usually, it meant Mr. Edgeworth already knew the answer to his question, and wanted to see if Sebastian could figure it out on its own. Maybe he’d already solved the entire case in his head? No, Sebastian reminded himself, Mr. Edgeworth doesn’t like wasting time. If he had solved the case, he’d be storming into the coroner’s office by now.
His conducting baton flexed between his hands, Sebastian considered the question. The victim was a middle-aged man dressed in a fancy-looking tuxedo, the kind Pops hated wearing, but the body was lying in a shabby studio apartment that was smaller than the garage of Pops’ house. My house.
He shook off the thought. Mr. Edgeworth was still waiting for an answer, his arms crossed as he stared at Sebastian. Sebastian would’ve thought it a glare, but he’d learned over the past few months that Mr. Edgeworth’s face was just like that.
An answer came forth. The victim didn’t live here…which means someone moved the body here….maybe the killer? The killer lives here, and was interrupted. Yes, that must be it! Sebastian opened his mouth.
He closed it. He reminded himself that he couldn’t trust his first guess. His gaze traveled to the victim’s face, and then to the pictures stuck to the fridge, the bills on the table, and the shoes by the door. “He lived here. There are photographs of him on the fridge in that scarf that’s on the couch.”
“Hmm,” said Mr. Edgeworth.
Sebastian pressed on, “I-I don’t think the outfit is his. The shoes are too big. I think someone either lent him the clothes, or dressed him after he died. Maybe the second one, because there isn’t blood anywhere other than on his clothes.”
“We haven’t looked under the body yet,” pointed out Mr. Edgeworth, and Sebastian winced. Mr. Edgeworth continued, “However, in essence, I’ve arrived at the same conclusion.”
Sebastian straightened up, pleased. A loud CRACK! erupted between his hands, and sudden pain whipped across his chin. He staggered back. Two sticks dropped from his hand. Two? But—
He dropped to his knees, grabbing one of the pieces of his baton. It was the bottom half, a sharp edge across it that explained the throbbing of his chin. He’d bent it too hard. Stupid. He needed to find the other half. It’s from Pops, I can’t lose it.
“Sebastian,” said Mr. Edgeworth, suddenly next to him and not across the room. When did that happen? Mr. Edgeworth’s hand hovered over his shoulder. “Sebastian, you’re bleeding.”
“It’s broken,” said Sebastian, tears welling up in his eyes. Mr. Edgeworth looked confused, and Sebastian realized how stupid he sounded. He stuck his hand under the couch, relieved when he felt the other half of his baton. He showed both pieces to Mr. Edgeworth, and tried to explain. “I don’t want to laminate—I mean, contaminate, the crime scene.”
Mr. Edgeworth’s gaze dropped down to the pieces in his hands. Sebastian didn’t like the way Mr. Edgeworth’s forehead tensed up, as if he were solving a crime scene.
“A well-founded concern,” said Mr. Edgeworth. “To that end, Detective Gumshoe should be able to assist you with that injury. He is well-supplied with band-aids, given his own mishaps.”
Sebastian nodded, jumping to his feet. “I’ll be right back.”
He fiddled with the broken pieces of his baton in his pocket while waiting for the elevator. He’d only ever had the one baton. He didn’t even know it could break. Of course my idiot son found the one way to break it, says Pops’ voice. Maybe he could find out where Pops had gotten this one? Justine would help. More tears came.
No, retorted a part of Sebastian, that’s enough. He blinked hard. He—he didn’t need a stupid baton to prosecute. Especially not one from him. He needed to stop reacting to every little thing like this.
Pops had alternated between floods of tears and fires of rage, leaving Sebastian and everyone else in suspense as to which mood was next. Sebastian had meant what he’d told Mr. Edgeworth. He wasn’t going to be like his father. If he wanted to be like another prosecutor, he wanted to be like Mr. Edgeworth. He wanted to be even better than Mr. Edgeworth.
And Mr. Edgeworth didn’t cry.
Sebastian stepped into the elevator, and swallowed down his tears.

(probably) rejected going seventeen ideas
On the off chance someone from the seventeen team is reading this (((like you probably did with the hide and seek post AHEM COUGH COUGH jk unless)))) I present to you my GOSE ideas:
They are in a courtroom and have to defend each other. The case should be something that actually happened (i.e one of their petty fights) They can present their arguments with irrelevant proof (for example, Mingyu is a lawyer, and the other party’s lawyer Seungkwan presents a picture of Mingyu flexing his muscles and says he’s a show off or some shit bc he wants to EMBARRASS HIM) Since there’s 523 members of svt some could be lawyers, defendants, judge, key witnesses and jury… hell, someone could be a security guard. Also I am merely a fan of seventeen in suits (update: they actually did this one omg)
BET ON MY BESTIE. They are all given a prompt and they have to bet on which member they think would do it best. The betted on members have to prove whether or not they can do it. For example, “Which member can do 30 pushups in 15 seconds?” You have everyone SCREAMINGG hyping up Woozi Mingyu and Joshua. You’d have Hoshi making crazy promises like “JOSHUA IF YOU WIN THIS I’LL BUY YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT” and then when Joshua wins Hoshi’s like “🤭 just kidding”
SVT building ikea furniture in two teams. One member is blindfolded, another member is wearing noise cancelling headphones and another is not allowed to talk -> these three have to some how relay the instructions to the rest of the team

An actual serious game of dodgeball pleaseeeeeeeeee. I know y’all did it for the Jun appreciation day video but they were purposely trying to let Jun win. I wanna see S coups whip a ball
They each design an article of merch (hoodies, shirt, sweatpants, hat, etc). The twist is they have to keep passing on the merch to the next member and add on to the design every 15 minutes until it’s gone thru all 13 members. It’d be cool to see the behind the scenes of something they made collectively and it would be CHAOS. Imagine The8 being really proud of his drawing and then Hoshi gets it next and draws a big ass evil banana or something idk. The merch gets sold on their website for a limited amount of time.
Seventeen in a BIG ASS MAZE and each person has to find a specific member among it in order to exit. Imagine DK runs into Jun but needs to find Vernon so DK starts yelling “GET OUT OF THE WAYYY” Minghao would do some shit like wait by the exit until his partner found him pls
They get to style a member and make them pose however and wherever they want for a picture. At the end, the pictures are presented and the members have to guess who styled them and who got the best makeover ((winners get a wish ticket))
All 13 of them (or two teams) have to shoot a low-budget music video for one of their b-side songs
They wear prosthetics and go undercover in public and have to fulfil 5 tasks
MAFIA (DONT LIE) BUT pairs are handcuffed together (one team of three people). Ideally, the pairs are of the most unlikely duo/the ones who bicker a lot. If you want it to be simpler, ask every member many days prior to compile a list of who they would most to least like to be handcuffed to. Only on the day of do they find out they are handcuffed to the person they listed last. They play Don’t Lie Mafia as they usually would. Throughout the set are a limited amount of handcuff keys (so not every duo can separate) This would be A MESS. If your partner is eliminated, they become separated and the remaining member goes on solo. My goal here is to have a lot of fighting i.e Wonwoo wants to go left but Woozi wants to go right but they BOTH can’t have what they want. Josh is mafia and Mingyu is getting close to finding the prize money so Josh leads the poor man astray bc Mingyu trusts him. Okay, honestly I can’t think of a full concept but I would still love to see them handcuffed to each other. In my head it’s Hoshi-Seungkwan, Jeonghan-Dino, Mingyu-Josh, DK-Jun-Scoups, Vernon-The8, Wonwoo-Woozi
Shark Tank Parody. The8, Joshua and Woozi are sharks. Each member has to present a product… the catch is they have no idea what their product is until it’s their turn. Really reliant on improv (similar to their seventeen got talent GOSE)
Idk what the actual scenario is but one member is wearing a secret headset and is being told what to do by the staff. Either no other members are aware and think that one member is being a weirdo OR all members are wearing headsets and they have to figure out who is being controlled (Similar to Mystery Mystery GOSE and Secret Santa GOSE)
They recreate their PLEDIS auditions. They are styled with similar hair, outfits and introductions. They sing and dance to their audition songs. The members are not allowed to laugh or they get shocked.
A chill GOSE where they sit around a campfire roasting marshmallows and tell each other their real life ghost stories. Potentially a prank on DK where they disappear into the darkness one by one
SVT AS BOBA SHOP EMPLOYEES??? IDK WHAT I WANT FROM THIS BUT I WANT THIS
Likely would be an end of year video but a trivia game where they are shown moments of their year (or even their overall lives together) and it’s in a game show format where the goal is to select the right answer. (For example, they are shown a picture and asked where it was taken with A,B,C,D options) It’s a recap of their year and they can explain the moment in more depth

What do you think of video game jazz? I’m getting into jazz right now and it’s how I got it into it but it feels kind of cringe to admit that
Ahhh tbh this is one of those things I’d want to give a more in-depth answer to. By which I mean I fantasize about having the talent and ability to do a 4 hour Folding Ideas style video essay about the entirety of ‘video game music is real music’ as a phenomenon. The most relevant backdrop to this is that I think people forget that the early 2000’s, when this discourse (in the West) started picking up steam was reactionary, by which I also mean probably not inline with the aesthetics by which we love video game music now. I mean ‘it’s not just beeps and boops!’ was the rallying cry: Anamanaguchi and chip tune stuff, even the fetish for those old hardware sounds wasn’t particularly widespread. So they loved the melodies they grew up with in games, but also thought of them as being ‘hobbled’ by the hardware, as opposed to sounds in their own right. So they were arguing that the music was legitimate now—-by which they very explicitly meant ‘performed on real instruments, often the instruments of the Western Orchestra.’ And I’m not saying ‘Western’ as a kneejerk thing either: a lot of those early attempts are embarassing because they take music obviously based around Japanese timbres and apply them to Western instrumentation in a way no one would be happy with today. So we no longer share that aesthetic—-we recognize that the moon theme from Ducktales on the NES is gorgeous, not in a ‘imagine what it could be!’ way, but specifically in and of itself. The orchestrated version of Mother’s Fallin Love is somehow not as intensely moving as the NES original, etc, and even if tastes differ we can agree on the possibility of that.
So I’d argue that this is kind of an important backdrop to the cultural phenomenon of what ‘video game jazz’ is, and has a lasting influence on it’s appeal: a legitimization for melodies and pieces we love. Jazz traditionalists and gatekeepers might occasionally dismiss it as ‘not real jazz’, but that involves a whole host of other assumptions. It obviously is jazz—-but what kind? overwhelmingly, it’s either tightly performed big band medleys or smooth jazz—-closer to the infamously Kenny G.
And that, to be honest, is kind of the point! People attend video game jazz shows to hear those melodies, that’s the point—-they’re not interested in jazz as such. Normally the argument for it’s potential legitimacy is ‘jazz has always used popular music of the day’, and I agree! But that’s clearly not the singular draw of the stuff, and I’ll give this example:
Mahanthappa is objectively one of the major figures of contemporary jazz. This was his arrangement of the New Horizons theme, recorded shortly “after COVID” (you know what I mean, god save us). It was relevant, popular, and significant, and made no headways in the video game jazz scene. How is this possible? Because the assumptions are different, and a good amount of the video game jazz specific audience didn’t respond to it: this is Mahanthappa bringing that music into jazz, as opposed to what amounts to an arranged revue. And so in a weird way there’s actually something like mutual disinterest, and reason why people tend to think of them as like fundamentally different.
It is stupid though. I have an old OneUps CD.

1. Find an idea
I usually get my ideas from tiktoks or some songs.
I kinda try to fit the song to the character I want in it lmao
2. Download the audio
I’m an android phone user so downloading stuff is really easily.
I usually use YTMP3.com to download my stuff
there is a lot of websites with that link but l usually pick the second or first one
Then insert the audio in Alight Motion. I use Alight Motion a lot since there’s a lot of choices there.
Also I use the APK version so I don’t have to pay for premium features. ALSO THIS IS ON MY PHONE. I use an Ipad to draw….
3. (Optional) Storyboarding
GUYS TBH IN MY ANIMATICS I DON’T STORYBOARD
EVERYTHING IN MY ANIMATICS, I LITERALLY JUST WING IT LMAOOO
The only animatic I did need to storyboard was Floyd’s little minecraft song angst video LMAOOO:
a lot of people happen to storyboard their animatics so they have a plan but i literally storyboard in my head and if i think it looks good, i just put it in 😭😭😭
I literally have to go on my old tablet to fetch some of my old content here
4. START DRAWING
In my drawing process, it’s kinda easy unless I’m using a bunch of colors.
I also try to change the styles up so you can differeniate the animatics from eachother like how in Jade’s Laufey video, the colors are warm and soon turn pale and cold. And in the To Love a Boy, it’s like pt 2 of Jade’s Laufey video but in MC’s perspective and in which the MC does not return his feelings so the colors aren’t warm as Jade’s perspective.
And then in Azul’s Laufey video, the appearance and color palette’s looks very sweet and valentiney since it’s in the MC’s perspective on having a FAT FUCKING CRUSH on Azul
Epel was the hardest because during that time, I was not that active on TikTok and school took my time so it took a lot of time to gain back the motivation and finish it
ALSO, i literally draw on my Ipad now and I send the pictures to my phone to edit them so it’s an annoying process since I DON’T WANNA PAY FOR ALIGHT MOTION WHEN I CAN GET IT FOR FREE
BUT YOU KNOW WHAT TOOK ME A YEAR?? My “I Wanna Be a Princess!” MUSIC VIDEO… it’s not animatic but that took like a year to finish because I forgot about it but I did so well on it.
AND YOU CAN TELL HOW LONG IT TOOK BECAUSE THE MC APPEARANCE ALREADY CHANGED
5. Editing
Okay, I’m so happy that I actually got into editing for a bit because my videos would’ve looked so trash bro
LMSOOO but editing animatics aren’t really that hard unless you’re going for a specific transition or movement
I guess the transition that pissed me off the most were the ones in Jade’s Laufey video when it switches from warm to cold and Epel’s MLP video where it switches from silly to dark.
My editing process isn’t that unique. I just insert the song, move the pictures, and done 😭😭😭
6. Touch-ups
Touch-ups include subtitles, effects, filters, etc
I don’t really use filters for my animatics unless i’m going for something
BUT SUBTITLES?? yeah I use them a lot lmao

yesterday I was just in town at my hair dresser but there was a song that was on the radio it's a korean song.But what caught my attention was my salonist talking about kpop songs/kdramas and kpop artists etc..But the client that she was discussing this with mentioned jimin "Jimin from that big kpop boy band" those were her words.She said she isnt a fan of kpop. i was really curious and i joined in their conversation by showing them the bts group photo and without hesitation she pointed at Jimin.But she was mixing up the names of members 😭like she just knows jimin.And it's an ongoing thing in the fandom that people always joke with locals only know jimin like jimin is like the face of kpop.all locals know jimin and its not a joke btw his name always pops out in random places...So I was asking why do locals only know jimin the other members are popular too so I don't understand why just him?.Why is he the only one who is popular among locals

It's becoming a cliche to point to his talent, hardwork and charisma as that quality that draws people to him- when truth is there are so many talented hardworking people out there we care nothing about even if we came across them. This is because they lack something that JM has in abundance.
Mystery.
Mystery is one of the most attractive traits a person could have. Some do well to cultivate it through their actions, fashion choice, personality or even sexuality. But for JM it comes so natural to him because it is how he has been made by God herself.
Truth is Jimin is outstanding to most because he is effortlessy and divinely mysterious. It's easy to look at someone like Jungkook and say he is an attractive young man. Taehyung is beautiful. Jin is a boy over flower type of guy but Jimin is hard to place in a box because he doesn't fit into any gender stereotype. He is quite androgynous and androgyny is a mystery to most.
As Virginia Wolf says, in each of us two powers preside, one male, one female. The androgynous mind is resonant and porous; naturally creative, incandescent and undivided.
And as another poet writes, a great mind must be one that is androgynous. To embody both masculine and feminine divinaties.
Throughout history artists and philosophers have been obsessed with androgyny and in one way or the other deemed androgyny as higher a form of being and beauty. Androgyny never goes out of vogue.
Jimin is such an experience.
For a lot of people when they come across him, they are experiencing the the charms of the Illucebra Arcanus for the very first time.
His beauty and androgynous looks invites you to dig deeper into him. To unravel his mysteries. You become curious about him, fascinated with him and very soon captivated. And when you are captivated that's when he puts you under his spell.
Androgynous people are bound to stand out wherever they find themselves, leave an impression, make you intrigued by them and ultimately bind you under a spell. It's true of Jimin, Harry Styles, Michael Jackson, Prince and the others like them.

He has an interesting choice in clothes, jewelry, and make up that for someone looking to glam up or step out of their comfort zone or be interesting, it's easy to look to him for inspo.
He is a muse
There has been so many books, songs and movies authored by famous and talented artists all over based on the personality of JM from his looks right down to his features.
Even our own V uses him as muse for writing his songs. He is welcome.
His looks aside, his personality and masculinity is consumable.
This is the Era of the Soft boy. While I won't clasify JM'S physique as soft, his brand of masculinity is so easy to digest. I think I've mentioned this before... yea I have. He has a great personality, he is kind and warm and open. People are attracted to such traits also.
He is right there with the likes of Timote chalamet and the ROCK. We are tired of the aggressive violent markers of gender associated with traditional expressions of masculinity. They are shoved in the trash where they belong.
Due to this, Jimin is also especially popular among the younger fans. I've seen kids mistake him for a girl and try to play princess with him😩
There is a viral video going around of a kid crying because she wanted her Jimin plushie not chim🤣
He steals the show
He stands out in almost every single BTS music video because he is a wonderful performer hands down. 🤧
He is a born star. And that's an understatement.
Regardless of the screen time he gets, he outshines every body easily.
Sorry to the others but facts are facts.
His discipline, talent, exquisite brilliance and marvelous interpretation of concepts through channeling every thing that makes him unique makes him such a rare artist to glance over. And he does all these consciously through deliberate choices in movement, landing, sensual expressions, camera interaction, shock value and serves brilliance yo the audience.
When you are looking at him you are not just looking at a person you are looking at passion personified, drive and ambition anthropomorphized. He means business. His intention is to Wow you and he ends up succeeding.
He adds spice to every single song and performance and takes everything up a notch. He is beautiful to look at, his voice taste like honey and his musical technique is just wonderful.
He is cool
This ties back into the first two points I raised on his looks, his style and his artistry.
He has the swag. He got the jams.
Just stunning.
All in all he is a spectacle to behold.

as for the matchup..
APPEARANCE: i'm relatively average in height, like 5'4. i'm a little chubby and have a baby face (save me). notable things are that i have smaller than average hands, i have a lot of moles and pretty heavy eyebags. my hair is past my shoulders and is curly and wavy. i wear fun shaped glasses and different themes of dangly earrings. my sense of style is simple but enough to express myself.

it's no problem to him if initially you're more standoff-ish and quiet. he's kalim of course he's still going to go out of his way to talk to you and befriend you. especially when he finds out more about you. he could catch you practicing and playing the piano in the music room and (moment of him being completely mesmerized hehe). he'd apologize quickly if he startled you and go on excitedly that you're talented with instruments. considering he is a part of the light music club he is ecstatic. nothing but compliments and praise for your talent from him. he is either inviting you to join or just come watch one of their performances a lot.
so even when before the two of you got together, he treated you as if you've known him for years. don't feel nervous about not having a partner for an assignment in class if he's there- because he's immediately waving to you and making his way asking if you would want to work with him. if he sees you walk into a room, he visibly lights up and calls for you.
more often than not, he's inviting you to sleepovers at scarabia with him... his bed is the coziest thing. he is content with curling up in bed with you and talking tiredly. he definitely buys you plushies... like A LOT ever since you practically sobbed over him getting you one of your favorite animals. they're found all over his bedroom.
he always finds himself getting into slight trouble and crazy moments at school, due to his spontaneous self. he means well but there are times like when he lost his magic carpet and dragged you all over campus to help him find it.
kalim loves listening to you-- besides, he is equally as talkative. he feels so good knowing that he's someone you began to feel comfortable around to be more open. and kalim remembers everything, you could mention something offhandedly and bring it up like "oh! right you liked those..." weeks later.

I'm an introverted person and I tend to be very logical but. I think different from a lot of ppl apparently. I've been described, to paraphrase, as "sort of ominous and mysterious but actually funny", "uncanny and unsettling in a good way", and "awkward and weird but its endearing" which just sound like insults. I like to live in my head and make silly stories and things to play with. Like every tumblr user I've got fucked up mental health and bad parents so I am kind of like one of those freaky ass chihuahuas that is always scared and shakes and bites people and has digestive issues. I was a pretty intense synchronized swimmer for like 9 years I competed at like opens and nationals and all that when I was in school but my university doesn't have :( I'm on the rowing team now but I would rather do synchro esp since being my main thing was being flexible and it has no advantages in rowing lmaooo I've been a huge vocaloid fan since elementary school so I've been around in that community for a while (I am so well-adjusted). I like to make vocal synth covers and draw, especially when I'm able to work with producers to provide art for their vids it's so cool hehehehhe I mostly listen to vocaloid music but I like a lot of metal stuff as well that's how I found out abt gonst. I also like 2 play video gamez, I'm so fucking bad at them but I think it's rly funny so I just spend hours giggling and watching myself get mauled over and over.
I love horror a lot but I'm less a slasher girlie and more of a supernatural psychological tormet girlie esp if its got mythology or religions shit involved. Disclaimer: I’m still a beginner at understanding astrology, and I am not an expert on it. I do believe in energy, but a person’s energy is constantly changing. So, please take my word on this as a grain of salt. I also don’t know Seunghan personally, so this is based on my understanding of astrology, and I used his placements to analyse him. I strongly suggest taking this as a grain of salt and not taking it personally.
Let’s also not make assumptions about him. I did this for entertainment purposes.
What is Seunghan like as an idol?
I sensed a compassionate, visionary and creative individual. You can see it in his actions and interactions with his peers in the SM Rookies video. You can also see he is sensitive to his surroundings and members. He is likely to be artistic or musically talented. I think he is one of the members who sings the most part. His creative side is quite apparent in his interest in music and drawing. Even though his drawings are doodles of Janggu (Korean Shin Chan). I think, in general, he loves to dabble in art. This side of him reminds me of Renjun from NCT Dream. So, he might one day use this aspect of himself to relieve stress.
I also think he is the softhearted type and maybe even too willing to sacrifice himself for the good of others. As we know, he is currently on an “indefinite hiatus”. I’m sensing he was likely the one who came up with the plan, and the company supported it. But if he didn’t, I think the company suggested it, and he agreed. He probably doesn’t want to cause any trouble for the team. Another aspect of his “willingness to sacrifice for others” is seen in one of their video clips from the Halloween content. He gave the earbuds to Wonbin and Sungchan because he knew that they were scared.
His red flag would be that he is aware of his surroundings and may take on different qualities with different groups of people. This is not a good thing because people might think he is fake or a people pleaser. I think this part of him is due to his Libra placements. He wants to be harmonious. He wants to make the people around him happy. If you’re unfamiliar with this aspect of him, you can check out RIIZE content before he went on his hiatus.
He also has a strong Pisces placement. I think it’s from his Mars in Pisces. He seems to be easily influenced by others and can also sometimes be moody and introverted. This could be the reason why his MBTI result is INFP. He may daydream a lot. It’s also indicating he is always in his head. He may have a great imagination. He may also, from time to time, experience intense emotions. I also think his placement indicates his attraction to music or the arts. This placement also reflects his sensitivity towards his surroundings.
Additionally, there could be difficulties with his motivation as he might gain it from the people around him. So, his existence in RIIZE boosted his confidence. He seems to like the energy of his members, and he also mentioned Talk Saxy suits his style. Personally, this aspect of him depends on who he is with. He might be people-pleasing a lot because he’s in SM Ent, and the management, of course, wants him to be on his best behaviour, but I think he is aware of this part of him.
He would and could be on his best behaviour from now and onwards because he knows that it will serve him well. (I think this mindset will take time to develop.) This also means Seunghan should be careful who he surrounds himself with and who he thinks of as his friends. Honestly, the rest of RIIZE should be cautious. I did a little reading on RIIZE’s natal chart, and it seems to be showing a group of boys who are in tune with their emotions. The group natal chart is heavy on “sensitive” energy. Someone on Twitter said the boys feel like they came out from a coming-of-age movie, I agree.
Currently, he is on a hiatus, but I do think once these difficulties are overcome, tremendous creativity is possible, perhaps through artistic channels: music, drama, or participating in songwriting. I’m not saying he will return as an active member of RIIZE. It is possible, but he has spiritual homework to do—something like cutting people out, ending karmic energy, and trusting himself more. If, hopefully, he comes back. I sense SM might watch his moves a lot.
I get a sense of his creativity during the RIIZE fan sign as he caters to signing the albums to fans in different signature styles. So, he already has that in him. The only problem is SM Ent. If SM Ent or someone important in SM acknowledges his talents. I think he will do well. He also needs someone who can mentally prepare and support him. At least for now, that’s how I see it.
If you guys also notice, he is energetic, enjoys meeting people and has positive enthusiasm. I watch almost all his fan call videos, and he does the most to make people happy or laugh. You can see that he is either smiling or laughing with his fans. I’m assuming he is that idol who relies heavily on his fans for fame. This is not to say he takes advantage of them, but he knows his fans care about him, at least from what I have seen from fan calls and his placements. He also is always in a good mood. It looks like he looks forward to meeting them.

On 5Miinust (+ Puuluup) and the pleasures of sticking idol pop where it (supposedly) doesn't belong.
I haven't been around much lately, y'all. Partly because my dudes have also not been around much, although ZaQ continues to post a series of videos on the ARTJAQ channel, teaching the audience about... something. I continue, in turn, to not understand Kazakh. Throw in increasing disillusionment with K-pop (I guess now we know why GFriend was so abruptly shitcanned, though the knowledge doesn't make me feel any better), a general post-October-7th discomfort with most online pop-music discussion spaces, and work to get done at home, and Tumblr just hasn't been a particularly rewarding place for me lately.
I didn't think Eurovision was going to be a rewarding place for me this year, either. And then Eesti Laul happened.

It's like some divine imp was watching and saying to themself, "You know what Jessica needs? A pop-rap group from a former Soviet colony whose members love video games and refuse to take themselves seriously and release lots of goofy content that sorely lacks English subtitles. No, another one."
To clarify: the description in the previous paragraph only refers to four of the six people making up Estonia's Eurovision entry this year. The two guys in the clip with talharpas are the respected "zombie-folk" duo Puuluup, who play world music festivals and draw their own album covers and seem like a very fun and intelligent duo. They somehow have fallen into league with 5Miinust, a four-member (previously five) group that has been around since the mid-2010s. To the best of my knowledge 5Miinust have never been accused of being Satanic and/or gay like Ninety One have, but they are either a party group, a hip-hop group, a boy band, a bunch of frat bros (see this album cover), or a very savvy business collective whose members include a former advertising specialist and a trained accountant. Or, most likely, all of the above at once.
The 5Miinust / Puuluup collaboration by itself is charming enough, and if you want to know more about how it came to pass, I direct you to Overthinking It's very good video on Estonia's entry. And "Nendest Something Something," as @sole-cuore-amore-e-droga calls it, is the best kind of fun: chaotic at first listen, carefully constructed subsequently. I don't expect it to do well in Malmö. (I think "Europapa," which is also a seemingly chaotic song that turns out to have a lot more going on than its bouncy surface would first indicate, will win overall.) And I don't really care. I'm not sure 5Miinust and Puuluup care a huge amount about the scoreboard either. They've already recorded a full album together; they seem to be having a good time making silly videos for social media. They'd be my winners even without the added bonus, which is that these guys are absolutely giving idol-pop goodness.
I mean: go watch that Eesti Laul performance again. With the exception of the bridge, each performer gets his own solo time, a classic idol-pop move. There's choreo! And the styling: everyone shirtless under a suit jacket, but each suit jacket tailored slightly differently—that is such an idol-pop live-performance look. I cannot be the only person who clocked that Korea's suit is cut the same way as Nine's for "libidO" live stages, just more conservatively.
And the deeper you get into the 5Miinust rabbit hole, the more idol-pop-esque goofiness you find. Drag performances? Yep. Live radio performances with gimmicks? Here they are stripping to "Vamos." Super-dramatic award-show performances with loads of backup dancers? Here they are at last year's Estonian Music Awards. Do you need to learn the point dance? 5Miinust and Puuluup will combine forces to teach you the point dance.
And yet, talking about either (and both) of these groups as idols is a gloriously stupid idea, because "idol pop" suggests a willingness to subjugate themselves to audience demands that neither 5Miinust or Puuluup, for all their combined marketing skill, have. Idol pop historically depends on hierarchies—performers deferring to management, and, in a different way, to their audience—and that's not how 5Miinust or Puulup work. When I wrote up a guide to who's who for /r/eurovision, I said that Päevakoer is 5Miinust's maknae, and it was a joke because I'm pretty confident no one within 5Miinust has ever cared for one second who's older and who's younger. Just the fact that two different groups with a decade between them found creative inspiration in happily treating each other as equals gives the lie to the idol-pop framing. Nobody's bowing to Marko and Ramo. The whole idea is so far from how these particular performers relate to each other as to be nonsensical.
Which means: idol-pop goodness without stifling hierarchies; idol-pop goodness by people in charge of their own careers, who post goofiness on their own terms; idol-pop goodness combined with musical experimentation born of mutual respect. YES. YES. SIGN ME THE HELL UP.
(If it doesn't go without saying at this point, I would give a lot for my new faves to somehow meet my existing faves. Ninety One might not have enough English comprehension to make the meeting work, though. I think 5Miinust's ex-member Gameboy Tetris might speak Russian; whether he wants to speak Russian would be another story.)
I got lucky, and found people also willing to enjoy the 5Miinust-and-Puuluup-as-idols ironic glee. @sole-cuore-amore-e-droga really kicked things off by making that awesome lyrics video, and from there we got a line distribution video and a logo design for our fandom (Estoners) and photocards and a fanchant and a lightstick design and a "Gangnam Style" mashup and chibi art and then more chibi art. It has been one of the highlights of my past month, being able to giggle unreservedly with strangers. I haven't been able to do that in a long time.
Eurovision happens in two weeks, and then there will inevitably be a dropoff in activity, no matter where "(nendest)..." places. Without the Eurovision framework (and the English-language content that comes with it) I suspect most Estoners will move on. I'm still going to play the album, though, and keep an eye on these guys. Any chance to expand idol pop into more humane spaces, I'm going to take, no matter how silly it seems.

hi! I really enjoy your art, it has a very unique touch to it that I really like. do you sell prints of your art anywhere?
I've never been much of an artist myself, but lately I've been feeling like I would really like to try and learn how to draw. I know it takes a LOT of practise and that some have a more natural touch to it than others, but do you have any tips for a beginner? where should I start? I have tried reference pics and stuff like that but I never seem to get them right. how can I keep myself motivated when nothing I try turns out the way I imagine it?

And wow that's great to hear! I'm really excited for you honestly because it's really fun :3 Well, my ways have always been a little unconventional but most teachers would tell you to pick up a pen and paper and.. just start drawing/doodling with whatever reference you have. Or if you have a pen tablet already, explore the program you're working with. Any kinds of brushes, try them out, try functions the program has- see what it does, make it a fun experience because you can't make any mistakes. It isn't something you have to deliver to anyone, this is practice and this is for you. Put on some music or watch a show on the side that's easy to follow (not one you have to pay close attention to) and just scribble away. You can use an extra program like 'Pureref' (which is free!) that allows you to drag in any references you need on top of your drawing-program or create an extra window where you can drag in any images and rearrange everything just the way you like it, like this:
And then let's try a Sasuke sketch in that pose upper-left corner.
I usually flood the document with a bunch of references in case I need it. (It's always more than I need but I hoard my files a lot 😂.. I think it's a fear of it not being enough "just in case"- but it's okay.) When I'm coloring a sketch, I think of colors beforehand but it kinda depends on my mood. Most of the time I don't bother until I get to the lighting stage.
If you feel like you don't really got the hang of using a pen-tablet yet, there is a good tutorial with exercises here. And don't worry at all!!! Because it'll get much easier and easier overtime, just please take care of your hands and stretch gently always. Remember it is never supposed to hurt.
Honestly the way to improve fast with art is... just get obsessed over something 😂 and draw that. Find something you like and enjoy drawing it at least from my understanding that is what happened to many people. For me it's.. well..
If you want to get inspired, go to places, preferably professional spaces and make a board with art in styles you really like. (Or a folder for example!)
This way you can use references to make something and it's a good start/practice ^^! At least it was very helpful for me! If you feel like nothing turns out the way you imagine it, then don't worry about it please.. creating something involves so many steps it is nearly impossible.. or it is impossible actually to have something turn out exactly as you imagine it beforehand. It is more important that the end-result is something that is satisfying which has more to do with the actual process itself. And I know that is not something you might want to hear now but I guess you'd have to experience it? At least for me, every new art I make involves something along the lines of "oh I kinda liked that" or "ew, no, nope, no, not doing that ever again" it's a constant process.
Here are some helpful video's for beginners because I think visual inspiration would be more beneficial for you than just a bunch of text from me!
