"I used to wait for you every night."
He keeps his back towards Giovanni. The Rocket Boss keeps saying he's useless, so it's not like he's going to suddenly care, or find this rant a reason to off him once and for all.
If Giovanni wanted him dead, he wouldn't be there, now.
"I used to ask Archer when you would've come back to the base. When you were going to spend time with me. I used to try to stay awake as much as I could, because I was afraid that you would've arrived and left before I woke up. I did... everything everyoine told me to, because if I was going to be a good kid, you wouldn't have to go away."
A prince in a birdcage.
"...I wonder what everyone else in Rocket had to do to gain your respect. I saw people younger than me, now, doing the same things I did when I was seven."
He finally turns, his eyes misty.
"I was patient. I was polite, loyal, obedient. I hurt and killed people, because your dogs told me that's what a good leader should do, that you would've been proud."
A step forward.
"Did you even want me? Even for just a second, did you ever think of me as more than just a nuisance?! You can say no, it would be easier for the both of us! I would love to bury these thoughts once and for all, to-- t-to accept the fact that you don't care, that you never cared, that I'm nothing for you.
Tumblr media
...no. You keep saying that. You keep saying you don't care, and yet now you're the one who approaches me." Silver looks down once more, his hands clenching into fists "what do you want? You think that it'll make me stop trying? That I'll stop fighting your grunts? Or do you just aim to crush me even more?"
Inhale, exhale.
Tumblr media
"...what a joke."

"It's impressive you participated at all," Giovanni approaches the Dragon Trainer after everything was said and done, "I thought it would be fair of me to let you know I was thinking of granting your wish for a little bit, had I won."
He chuckles, folding his arms behind him, "But in my opinion... I think you're tackling your problem from the wrong angle."
Giovanni hands over a plain business card with his new League email and contact information.
"If you really want help, don't hesitate to ask. I just have a few obligations first."
"...I don't need your help."
Tumblr media
By contest's end, it's become clear that Giovanni has changed, free from the dubious associations and criminalities that had clouded an infamous past. In fact, despite Clair's frosty attitude, he's been nothing but supportive towards her and the fellow Secrets participants. Charismatic, reformed, grounded.
And yet, the Blackthorn Gym Leader cannot forgive him, not yet. When Clair even looks at Giovanni, her blood boils. She does not see a pardoned man, but an enduring symbol, a grim reminder of a once-unshakeable criminal organization, now shattered into a hundred cutthroat, feral splinters.
(Blame the Clan for her present inability to change. Imagine growing up with the weight of generational lineages bearing down upon your shoulders, the sacred rules and your own role already laid out before you with uncompromising rigidity. Clair has been trying lately, trying hard to dislodge herself from the past, but she's like an ancient wyvern trying to spread her petrified, stony wings for the first time. It's hard to wrench the clocks forward when the past is so comfortable, predictable, easy.)
"I don't care that Lance trusts you. I'm not a diplomat like he is. It doesn't matter that you're not involved in Rocket affairs anymore--pardon or no pardon, monsters are still hiding behind the symbol of the organization that you led," she hisses, not afraid to get in Giovanni's face, peering up at him with narrowed eyes. "And yet you have the nerve to tell me that I'm doing things wrong? When I'm meeting you for the first time on some inane reality television set? Hah!"
Clair snatches the card out of Giovanni's hand, crushes it in her palm...but doesn't rip it in half. Her voice breaks.
"...I've been fighting this battle for months. Turning poacher after poacher over to the police. Pulling starved, mutated Dratini out of cages that are too small for them. Scouring a mile of mountainside every day," she rasps bitterly, kicking at the ground. "You don't know what it's like. You couldn't begin to understand."

Important Pokemon Trainers and whether or not I can beat them in a fight
(I am not talking pokemon, I am talking about a fight with the actual trainer. These hands are rated E for everyone)
This isnt about if I would do it. its just what would happen if I did
Brock: If I go by the anime, I would break him in half. If we are talking the games, thats more of a toss up. I would lean towards yes, but I would be skeptical
Misty: I would beat her ass. Misty could yell my ear off but I am 100% sure I could kick her ass
L.T. Surge: He would clap my cheeks. Dude is a war vetern. He probably would break my spine
Erika: Girl is high as s***, I would knock her out before she realizes it
Koga: Koga would kill me easily, Dude is a NINJA! Even if I thought I could hold my own, he got tricks and I cant compete with that.
Sabrina: No, I will not fight sabrina, she would turn me inside out with her psychic powers
Blaine: I could beat blaine, but I would feel guilty about it
Giovanni: Gonna be honest, I think He would beat me. Giovanni would fight dirty and probably have his grunts jump me if he started losing. But if its solely one on one, I might have a chance, but i still say The Rocket boss.
Lorelei: I could probably fight her, I wouldnt want to. But I would win
Bruno: F*** no. He would BREAK my head like an egg. Dude is YOKED. No thanks
Agatha: I would kick her cane away. Then I would win. I would probably get cursed. But, I would win
Lance: So... this is a tough one. Because Lance would totally just cheat and call out his dragonite to hyper beam me. But... if I manage to knock out all his mons, then I would flip his cape over his head and beat his ass
Blue/ASSFACE: I would crush Gary like a grape
Falkner: I would send him crying to his dad
Bugsy: I would squish him like a bug
Whitney: I would just make her break a nail and she would weep
Morty: Honestly I think it would be a close fight, but I think I could pull up and win
Chuck: No, He would grind me into the dirt
Jasmine: I would win, but I would feel awful about it
Pryce: Mainly cause he's old. I would win. I got a feeling he would kick my butt if he was in his prime
Clair: I would personally enjoy the catharsis of beating her ass. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES THAT KINGDRA ROBBED ME! ITS PAYBACK TIME B****.
Will: He might have psychic powers... but I think I can take him. He seems brittle
Karen: I am pretty sure Karen would beat my ass, and I would probably say thank you.
Roxanne: I would drop kick her easy
Brawly: This is 50/50. I feel like he is in great shape, so he got stamina. But I wouldnt consider him a fighter.
Wattson: I am gonna beat his ass and then ask his wife out
Flannery: I could beat up Flannery. I wouldnt feel good about it. But I could
Norman: I would beat this mans ASS! I would spend 2 hours doing it. TWO SLAKINGS IS BULLSHIT NORM!
Winona: I feel like it would be a tough fight, but I could pull it off
Tate and Liza: I would PUNT those children
Juan: I would beat his frilly coat wearing ass
Wallace: I could win, but then I would be MURDERED by his fangirls. So I wouldnt
Sidney: I think this is a closer fight then I would say. And I would arguably say Sidney might edge me out if he fights dirty
Phoebe: I could win, but I would rather not fight her. It feels wrong to do so
Glacia: I dont think I can beat her, I feel like she is hiding some s*** and might actually be really strong
Drake: 200% WOULD LOSE to him. Drake is clearly tearing me a new asshole.
Steven: I would say 50/50. I feel like with all the s*** he does with looking for rocks. He would be tough. So either way
Roark: He's a nerd, I'd give him a wedgie.
Gardenia: Id win, but she would be probably be into it...
Maylene: She is beating me senseless. Girl hiked up a cold mountain in nothing but her GI. I am not f***ing with that
Crasher Wake: No. I would get triple Suplexed into next week
Fatina: I would win, but I would feel bad about it. Mainly cause she would go to a contest after
Byron: unless he wields that shovel then I think he got me beat
Candice: I would win, but I feel like I am fighting a normal teenager so...
Volkner: beating his ass like its a piñata
Aaron: stomp him out like a cockroach
Bertha: I feel like I could win... but she reminds me of my grandma so I wouldnt fight her
Flint: I am beating his ass
Lucian: He's a nerd. So I would take his lunch money
Cynthia: There are a few certainties in this world. One of them is that Cynthia would beat my ass, and I would thank her and ask for another
Cress, Cillan, and Chilli: I would beat EACH of them at once
Lenora: No, I am not fighting Lenora, I would die.
Burgh: I would Obliterate that Twink
Elesa: Part of me thinks I would beat her, but she has BDE, so... I dont know
Clay: I would beat his Hokey Pokey ass
Skyla: As long as we on the ground, I am winning that fight
Bryce: This one goes to him, guy can sense those ninjas that Ghetsis hired.
Iris: She is a child, I would punt her
Drayden:
Tumblr media
This Man is an absolute unit. No way I can beat him
N: I would beat his scraggily ass
Ghetsis: I would get no greater pleasure than beating him to death
Cheren: I am beating him easily
Roxie: I just need to avoid her swinging guitar and I am fine
Marlon: He has stamina to swim MASSIVE distances, so I think he would outlast me.
Shauntel: I would just knock off her glasses and be done
Marshal: He kicks my ass, no question
Grimsley: In a fair fight I win, but I am 100% sure he will have a knife
Caitlin: I ... I think Id win, but I would feel bad
Alder: Considering how casually the man jumps off cliffs... No I would lose
Viola: Easy fight
Grant: He can rock climb, but I am pretty sure I win
Korrina: She beats my ass. I would put up a fight, but I would lose
Ramos: I wouldnt need to fight him, id just let him die on his own. Man is ancient
Clemont: Even with his robo arms, I would bully him
Valerie: I am pretty sure she isnt human with those eyes... so I think I would lose
Olympia: She is sabrina with Mommy energy. I would die
Wulfric: I feel like if he landed a hit he would win, but he would be too slow too. So If I can keep in the fight, I would win
Malva: I think I could win, but it wont be simple
Siebold: I would roast that cook
Wikstrom: Now you would think with the armor he would win, but That armor would slow his ass down. I would just keep punching him in the face
Drasna: I feel like I could win or it would be HORRIFICALLY one sided. there is no inbetween
Diantha: I feel like I could win, but like her fans would kill me
(I am skiping the island trial teens. I would beat up all of them except Kiawe. He would be a pain)
Hala: He would beat me, and I would accept it with grace
Olivia: I couldnt fight her, I would be too attracted to her
Nanu: He would beat me, I know that man has seen s***
Hapu: She is a child, I would punt her
Kahili: I would beat her with my 9 iron
Molayne: I would bully him relentlessly
Professor Kukui: He would beat my ass in a circle. And I would say thank you
Hau: I would steal his Malasada
Milo: That man is 200% beef. I would lose
Nessa: I could beat nessa, but I would probably let her beat me up because I couldnt bring myself to hurt her
Kabu: He Kicks my ass. No question
Bea: She would beat me like a punching bag
Allistair: I would win no diff, but I would feel bad about it
Opal: I dont care how old she is, she wins
Bede: I beat that kid no questions asked
Gordi: I would beat him easy. Then Marry his mom
Melony: I WANT to lose to her. I want her to suffocate me.
Piers: I would use his long hair to beat him,
Marnie: I could beat her, but... her fans would jump me in an alley
Raihan: I would beat him on his livestream
Leon: I feel like I could, but the man has guts so it would be a tough fight

The Infiltrator, chapter 10- Out of my Hands.
Man. This has been the longest fanfiction project I’ve attempted in years, and I’m glad to have finally finished it. Thank you to everyone who helped me with this and to everyone who read it to the end.
---
N scrambled up the ladder and out of the underground room, briefly returning his rapidash, who could not climb ladders, before letting it out again and mounting it. The Pokémon galloped back towards the Team Rainbow Rocket hideout. Reshiram would have been faster, but there was no knowing when Giovanni or his reinforcements would show up, and while N could survive taking a tumble on his steed should it be attacked, falling from a knocked-out flying Pokémon was another matter.
As the hideout came in to view, Mewtwo teleported in before it, along with a furious-looking Giovanni. N tugged at his steed’s neck to get it to stop, and it reared up, terrified. Giovanni sent out his rhyperior, which shot several rocks at the radipash before it could react. N jumped off of it and landed on his side, managing not to be crushed by the horselike  Pokémon  as it wiped out, unconscious.
As N began to pick himself up, Giovanni came over and kicked him in the side. “It’s impressive that you’ve gotten this far, kid, but the gig is up,” he said, “Now, you have two options. I could kill you, or I could neutralize you as a threat by having mewtwo erase all your memories of this place and any involvement you might have had with me. I’d have to take your ability to communicate with Pokémon as well, so they couldn’t remind you of it. So, which will it be? It’s your choice.”
N weighed his options. With Giovanni’s Rhyperior and Mewtwo standing over him, his chances of escape were bleak. His abilities with Pokémon... they were everything to him. But he’d still rather lose them than die. Maybe some of it could be relearned.
Just as N opened his mouth to answer, Reshiram came out of its pokéball, grabbed onto N’s collar with its mouth, and took off into the skies with him.
“Thanks, buddy,” he said, climbing onto reshiram’s back. Mewtwo was chasing after them. N led reshiram through the sky, dodging and weaving so not to be hit as lasers of psychic energy flew past them. As they carried on, N checked what  Pokémon  he currently had on him. Aside from reshiram and rapidash, he had Iris’ espeon, his leafeon and ninjask, and his zoroark- not a terrible line-up, but not his best. And one could presume that Giovanni was bringing his best.
N had his reshiram turn to face Mewtwo and fire at it with turbo blaze. As with most aerial battles, there were many misses and dodges before Reshiram finally hit Mewtwo with a beam of fire. Mewtwo tumbled through the sky, recovered, and delivered a tri attack. N guided Reshiram to dodge, but reshiram was hit in the chest.
As N guided reshiram to go back into retreat mode, he looked to the enemy Pokémon and then his own. They both seemed like another hit would be all it took.
“Put me down in front of the hideout,” he told the legendary, “I can’t take falls like you can.”
Reshiram obeyed, diving down while weaving enough to be a tough target. N jumped off once it got close enough to the ground, and reshiram immediately ascended again, leaving N in front of Giovanni and his Rhyperior.
“Huh. You have spunk, kid. I can respect that,” Giovanni admitted.
“It’s over, Giovanni. Four of your admins are gone, your machine is melted, and I’m going to call the international police the first chance I get.”
“You’re not going to get a chance! Rhyperior, hammer arm!”
The rock giant took aim at N, who scrambled for a pokéball. “Leafeon, out and use leaf blade!”
The leafeon came out and blocked the rhyperior’s attack with its leafy tail, but N didn’t stick around to watch her fight- he had to get inside. He had to get help on the way. Otherwise, they could fight each other to exhaustion and Giovanni would still have his underlings to send after him. And at very least, this was a good match-up for her typewise. Looking over his shoulder, it seemed like he was a good match-up for Giovanni as well, at least in terms of foot speed.
N scrambled into the empty entrance and made for his room, letting out his zoroark and ninjask at the doorway. “Hold Giovanni off,” he ordered them.
In the privacy of his room, N dialed the international police.
“Hello?”“
“Rocket Boss Giovanni is trying to kill me.”
From behind the door, N could hear the sound of his zoroark growling. The woman on the other end of the line sighed. “You mean he sent you a death threat? We’ll arrange for you to receive a government-funded guard   Pokémon,” she said as though she’d said it a hundred times before.
“I mean he’s outside my door beating up my Pokémon right now. Send help!” N yelled as a chorus of thuds and slashing noises sounded from behind the wall.
“Give us the address and we’ll have someone over right away.” To N’s relief, her voice was serious now.
“There’s no specific address. We’re off the Northern coast of Ula’ula, wooded area, very close to the beach.”
The door slammed open, N’s zoroark and Giovanni’s persian tumbling through, resembling a ball of blood, claws and vengeance as they wrestled. N and Giovanni made eye contact, the latter becoming enraged when he saw the phone in N’s hand. He returned his Persian, turned away, and ran.
For a moment, N sat still, unsure of what to do. Then, N turned back to the phone. “What did you just say? I missed it.”
“I said we’ll dispatch the helicopters immediately.”
“Thank you.”
N turned to his zoroark. “He must be making a run for it. Let’s go.”
With that, N ran down the hall, returning his fainted ninjask as he went. His zoroark bounded along beside him. They caught up to Giovanni at the hideout’s front desk, speaking into its microphone extension.
Giovanni’s voice came over the intercom, loud enough to wake the dead. “There is an intruder among us, last seen in the admin dormitories. He has long green hair, above-average height, and is wearing a grunt uniform. Everyone up and at em’!”
N ducked back into the dormitory hall and then into one of the rooms. It only then occurred to him that one of those rooms contained Ghetsis. Ghetsis. He would be one of the people nearest by, and considering how their last meeting had ended, he would probably be itching to hurt N.
Thankfully, it seemed that Zoroark had an idea. Using its incredible agility, it jumped up and tore a few panels from the ceiling. N nodded to it- desperate times called for desperate measures. The zoroark grabbed N and jumped through the hole. Thankfully, there were strong enough rafters to hold their weight, and enough space that they could comfortably crawl.
The two put distance between themselves and the hole. There were areas where they could clearly hear the bustle of searching grunts down below. Once they got to a quieter area, they stopped to plan.
“I’ve got to find a way to keep Giovanni in the building a little longer or he’s going to get away. Any ideas?” N asked his Pokémon.
The wolflike creature shook its head.
“It’s a tough one, isn’t it? Reasoning with him is probably off the table, and it’s not like we can strongarm him into staying. Unless espeon’s a fighter, I only have you left, and he has...”
The zoroark barked softly.
“His persian and two others. And the power of all his subordinates. Yeah, battle stregnth isn’t going to help us.”
It was then that N heard the sound of a large Pokémon crying, seemingly coming from directly below him. N removed one of the ceiling panels and realized that he was right above a two story-tall storage room of sorts filled with weaponry, torture devices, and cages. At the center of it was a map of the world with various figurines of legendaries and armies, similar to those Ghetsis had used way back when he had led Team Plasma. This must have been stage 1.
N dropped down onto what seemed like a massive row of shelves set up against a wall but upon closer inspection was a wall lined with cages. N climbed down them, past numerous strange and alienlike  Pokémon. They made a ruckus as he descended- there was no chance he wouldn’t be heard. They were all screaming for N to let them out. Screaming for revenge on Ghetsis and Giovanni. And one told him the location of the keys in the top shelf of Ghetsis’ desk over by the map. N ran for the keys and nabbed them just as the first grunt entered the room. N turned to the grunt.
“Find Giovanni,” N said, “Tell him that if he isn’t in this room in the next ten minutes, I will release all these ultra beasts, and that they want revenge on him.”
The grunt nodded and ran. N hoped that that would be enough- some of the  Pokémon  were big and capable of flight, but surely Giovanni had ways of protecting himself. Mere moments later, more grunts came in to challenge N. It was one fight after another with his zoroark. The grunts were weak, but zoroark was getting tired, and there seemed to be no end in sight. As N handled the third grunt’s zubat, Giovanni showed up, shoved his grunt out of the way and took out his nidoking and nidoqueen.
“You useless idiots!” Giovanni yelled at the grunts, “why are you coming at him one at a time? You have numbers. Take out your Pokémon now, all of you, and show him what Team Rocket is capable of!”
The grunts obeyed, filling the air with weak bats and the ground with various weaker  Pokémon.
Giovanni then turned to N. “I know what you’re doing. You’re trying to slow me down so I get caught. But while you’re surrounded like this, it won’t take any time at all.”
From behind Giovanni, another voice sounded.
“This is the international police. We have you surrounded. Return your Pokémon and put your hands up.”
The next few minutes were a blur. Giovanni desperately attempted to escape by having his  Pokémon  break through the walls, but they were unable to do so fast enough and Giovanni was led away in handcuffs. Some grunts ran. Others attacked N out of anger or confusion. They took out his zoroark and Iris’ espeon before a group of men and women in purple international police uniforms managed to safely escort N out.
Roughly an hour later, N was at the Ula’ula police station, sitting on their worn-out pleather couch as a member of the international police discussed matters with Ula’ula’s police chief outside. It was over. Or at least, it was out of his hands. Something told N that Giovanni wouldn’t go down that easily. N found it difficult to relax, especially since his phone had been confiscated and he’d been given no healing items for his Pokémon, which left him with nothing to do but watch the clock.
Police chief Nanu walked in through the front door and handed N three pokéballs. “The international police passed these on to me. They said that they were recovered from around the hideout. Do you know who they belong to?”
N looked into them. “Yes. They’re my reshiram, rapidash, and leafeon. Thank you.”
“Of course, kid. Now, do you need to get ahold of someone, or...?”
“I could contact my sisters and Abraxus. Is there any news from the international police?”
“No. Chances are there won’t be. Not for a long time, at least. There’s a lot of powerful people with vested interest in Giovanni’s freedom, so getting him out of the picture has to be hush-hush if it can even happen at all. The fewer people who know, the better.”
“Oh.” It was rather disappointing and a little scary that N would never know whether Giovanni was in jail or plotting his revenge.
Nanu seemed to sense N’s unhappiness. “ Hey, between you and me? You did a good thing by taking things into your own hands. Vigilantes like you aren’t hampered by corruption, so there’s no limits to what you can do against crime groups that have embedded themselves into our institutions. But I think if anyone ever had a shot at locking up Giovanni, it would be the international police.” Nanu dug N’s cellphone out of his pocket. “I guess I can give this back to you now that you understand that you can’t speak a word of this to anyone. Ready to call your people?” he asked.
“Yeah,” N replied. He took the phone and dialed.
Abraxus picked up the phone. “N? How is everything? Are you okay?”
“Yeah. I’m at the Ula’ula police station. Can you come meet up with me? There’s a lot I have to tell you guys. And I have something I need to say to you.”
“Oh. Okay.” N could hear the anxiety in her voice.
“It’s a good something, don’t worry.”
Fairly soon, N was reunited with Abraxus and his sisters. The first words out of his mouth were a very relieved “it’s over.” They took N’s Pokémon to get healed and then headed down to the beach at N’s recommendation. He wanted a place as private as possible to talk through everything. Thankfully, the beach was empty in the early morning hours. In the blue stillness of night and to the sound of the waves, N felt calmer than he’d felt since he’d arrived in Alola. He explained how he’d sent the four villains away, and how they would most likely never know of Ghetsis’ or Giovanni’s fate.
“You don’t know whether Ghetsis escaped or not? That’s terrifying!” Anthea said.
“I hope I never have to think of him again,” N admitted. “As soon as we get home, I think we should put our version of Ghetsis in a real prison. I don’t think I’ll ever change his mind, and he’ll have a better life there.”
“Honestly, that’s probably a good idea. But what changed your mind?”
“I had to look into the minds of five villains these past couple days, and I learned that people do learn and change. You can even be the one that helps them to. But not everyone is willing to. I know that Lysandre still doesn’t care about people outside his circle for the right reasons, even though I got him to do the right thing. And I don’t know what Cyrus is going to do now- I just know that I did what I could to steer him right. And honestly? I was a little relieved when Lysandre and Cyrus left. They’re not people I want in my life. And… as much as it disappointed me that I couldn’t learn how to handle Ghetsis, I was also relieved that I wouldn’t have to. Ghetsis doesn’t want to do right. He doesn’t want to listen to me. And that’s out of my control.”
“That’s… very wise, N,” Abraxus said. N wondered if she was worried about his new knowledge- if he’d seen her in the memories of any of the villains.
“Thanks. And Abraxus, I know about your past, and I still want you in my life. I overheard it while you were talking to Lusamine. You chose to turn yourself into the person I needed because you had compassion for me. I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m really glad that we’ll be facing it together. Thank you for everything.”
For a moment, Abraxus could only stare at N. Then she collapsed in on him, wrapping him in a tight hug.
“Glad I can still be in your life, N,” she said.
“Thanks. You guys ready to go home?”
There was general agreement, and soon N and his companions were once again flying over the ocean, headed to Unova.

oh we’re doing plot wishlists now ? 💌 don’t mind if i do. leave a like if any of these interest you and i’ll msg you !
f/f. give my female muses more girlfriends. that’s it that’s the plot.
if you like vampires i literally have four ( 4 ) vampire muses so hmu
i want a confident girl to fall for one of my quiet guys. like he’s so shy and gentle and he will worship the ground she walks on and she makes him want to get better. i can see thaddeo or malakai work here.
anything with greek mythology
anything with dark magic
corruption plots >:)
younger guys and older women. something cheesy like pool boy or something scandalous like best friend’s son....i don’t mind which muse i am here !!
historical threads... you gotta plot with giovanni. he’s been alive since the 1600s he can fit into any era. bridgerton plot ? yes. wartime plot ? yessss. give them all to me.
oh but anything jane austen i’m still weak...namely emma, sense & sensibility, pride & prejudice
i miss using dolly...she’s a succubus so if you want some sm*tty k*nky stuff she’s there. or a jennifer’s body plot against a needy inspired muse. or maybe your muse is an incubus/succubus too so they’re in competition and they can hatef*ck ehe
messy exes, the fights, the screaming, the knock on my door that i’ll always answer because we always come back to each other
shady drug deals with some dangerous clientele, before they know it our muses involved with an underground crime syndicate and we don’t know who to trust but we get paid well...or maybe one muse has eyes for the boss’s arm candy...hmmm....
young single mom raising the kid on her own, the dad left due to whatever reason, but she opens the door one day and there he is. maybe he’s in a bad spot and doesn’t know who else to turn to...and maybe he doesn’t know the kid is his....i’d ideally like to use macy for this plot
“i used to have a crush on you in high school but you turned me down for another girl but it’s ten years later and i match with you on a dating app and we find we have a lot of common interests now and you’re a lot nicer than i remember you and still hella cute”
anything with assassins or spies.....buddies, enemies who are forced to work on the same mission together, undercover and assigned to kill each other, etc.
two actors who can’t stand each other but are always cast as love interests
give me final girl / slasher horror plots !!

Prison of Plastic Thoughts on Molly, Giovanni and Especially Lorelai (Spoilers)
I finally finished Epither Erased: Prison of Plastic yesterday and oh my freaking god omf I cant get my blorbos out of my head.
The way this series said the system failed Molly, that trusted adults failed Molly, that even her friends who love her and see her suffering first hand can't help her in a way that really matters. Fuck it broke my heart. Hearing Navan's thoughts about being unable to just. Take her away because *he's a pillar to his community* hurt because he's a good guy. He's shown to be an amazingly thoughtful and caring man but classes and occasional money is not enough to save Molly. She needed a wrecking ball and I'm so happy Giovanni didn't even need to be asked. He was already planning on taking her. He just saw a girl in need and he gave zero shits to laws or future ramifications, he was going to help her come highwater and hell.
Epithet Erased is so amazing and means so much to me. A kid forced to grow up gets to be a kid again. Not by any concentional methods but it doesnt matter because she's free now and with people that will actually care for her.
That was amazing.
.......
But as much as I loved the book, I have gripes with Lorelai's part of the story.. I don't feel a sibling relationship as volatile as this was done enough.... justice?
I don't wanna get personal but there's a reason sibling relationships get to me the most out of any other familial one. I was so excited to cry over Molly and Lorelai, and I did! But it definitely felt like their interactions, the progression of their fights and their thoughts on one another could've been polished better. To me, it never felt like Molly got to actually communicate her problems with Lorelai properly. She either apologized or suddenly lashed out, which I understand, emotions run high, but because she never got through to Lori-
Lorelai does not feel like she learned a proper lesson at all. Her takeaway from the whole ordeal being 'I can stand to lose a bit' coming from *playing* a villain and picturing herself playing with Molly as one instead of what it should've been, her recognizing that she really put too much on Molly's shoulders makes her arc (in this part of her story atleast. Since there was no resolution between the sisters, I HOPE we are getting that in tbe future) frustrating.
I also feel like, if one of the main points of congression against Lorelai's powers was gonna be that she can hurt people (to the point where she freaks out about so much a d even WISHES SHE NEVER HAD THEM, THAT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE. UP UNTIL THEN ALL WE SAW WAS HER ENJOYING AND ABUSING HER POWERS EVEN IF SHE WAS LONELY), we could've had most instances of them actually doing something to people in the past other than just her potentially having set the hojse on fire. I thought the story was setting up her loneliness and departure from her school friends as maybe after losing her mom, she became overwhelmed and actually hurt one of them while having a meltdown. It would've solidified to her that maybe she SHOULD be alone, and given her more standing in her mind to freak out about actually hurting people while in this book, not just because she POTENTIALLY killed her mom but because, like Navan said, she already had confirmation of what she COULD DO with another incident.
And on that note, maybe a sprinkle of having Lorelai flinch and be scared of hurting Vincent Murder only to have him insist he's a gargoyle he can't be hurt(!) could've been another cute point to her crush on him. (Not that I'm a big fan of that potential relationship, but hey, if there's a focus on that, then you gotta milk it through the book).
On the subject of Gio/Vincent, I feel like he went too easy on her after the 'revelation' of what she's been doing to Beartrap on the side while hanging with him. He just breezed through it and was still joking with her during the fight. I didn't expect him to be a complete shift in personality and to cut ties with her, but maybe a bit 'tougher love' would've been good to see. I was waiting to see a more serious side to him as a protector of Molly, but he instead of keept it lighthearted and it didn't feel right. Theirs wasn't a matter of just petty sibling squabbles, Lorelai was a big contributor to the pain and stress Molly felt daily.
Brushing it aside felt so. Bad. For a story that does so well with showing how people fail and the consequences of it, they really softened Lorelai's in the end. She is still with the mindset of a child playing a game. It disappointed me ^^"
But uh, anyways. Sorry for the sudden negativity. It's honestly the only major thing I had a problem with. I love Epithet Erased so much, I guess I may have expected too much out of the sibling side of the story. I still heavily enjoy the rest of the cast and their relationships (other than Giovanni and Lorelai because I think he could be a little harder on her. Again, not a lot! I just think that as the person she likes and actually wants to listen to, she'd learn more from him.) But ah well.

Hello, hello, my lovelies 😊 I’m using the first personalized prompt from the reader appreciation day of the event for the super-talented and lovely Ghostie from @rebornologist! Thank you so much for all the support you give the blog and I hope you’ll enjoy! Though KHR was, of course, the most obvious world to set this in, I decided to go for another one I know the both of us really enjoy, so this is all done within the Dogs: Bullets & Carnage universe!
Siblings: You have no canon siblings; however you do have a brother in universe who is surprisingly still alive (surprising because, honestly, the world has a pretty high death toll, especially for siblings). Best friend: I honestly do see you and Bishop being quite close. The two of you get along really well, often joking and fucking around with each other, though he’s also not afraid to have the deep and serious conversations with you, just you and him on a pew in the church and he gives you pretty good advice in those cases. You and Badou are also extremely close, having been sort of childhood friends, and you’re really tight with Mimi. You end up befriending Heine, Naoto, Mihai, and Nil as well to various degrees. Frenemies/Enemies: A large majority of the underground operatives, for very obvious reasons. Crushes on You: I do think that Giovanni has a thing for you, quite the large thing, mostly because he sort of senses that Heine might grow a fondness for you and Giovanni really likes taking his ‘big brother’s’ things. So it’s definitely not an innocent crush but definitely a crush, even if the motives for it are kind of gross. First Romantic Relationship: I do think your first real romantic relationship wasn’t with a major character but just some random person, but just throwing out a headcanon here – your first kiss happened with Badou back when the two of you were kids and both of you joke around about it as adults, especially since there’s no romantic relationship between the two of you to speak of. Lost Virginity To: Again, I do think this happened with someone random. I don’t see the adult you in the story being a virgin, but I don’t think you end up losing it to any of the major characters. Given the way you and Badou can joke around about sexual topics though, I do think a lot of people assume that the two of you have been in a sexual relationship though. Married/In A Committed Relationship With: Okay, so this is a weird one. I don’t really see you in a committed relationship, not really. I see more there being an unspoken attraction that sort of grows between you and Heine. However, for obvious reasons, he can’t really act on any attraction he feels and struggles to deal with those emotions. He genuinely likes you as a person but goes hot and cold, pulling away from you any time he feels he might be developing feelings because his mind tells him that if he lets you get close to him, he’ll just end up seriously hurting or possibly even killing you. While I see a lot of the story being your different bonds with the characters and a larger plot, I do see that being a sub-plot and eventually Heine and you do grow closer. It’ll take years, don’t get me wrong, because trauma isn’t solved in a day, but he first grows to let you be around him, then to touch him, and I do see there eventually being some sort of romantic relationship between the two of you, in the future and after the story wraps. Until that happens though, he knows he can’t give you what you need, and he has no troubles and holds no jealousy on the rare occasions when you just take people into your bed, not as relationships but just to satisfy your physical needs. Cockblocked by: Heine definitely cockblocks himself, he needs no one else to do it for him. Affiliation: You own your own private investigation business. Sometimes your brother helps out, but most of the times, he’s doing his own freelance work.
Special Abilities: You’ve trained in various fighting techniques, such as mixed martial arts and Krav Maga from the time you were young because of the life your family led and because of that, you’re an incredibly competent close-quarters fighter, with good reflexes. However, because you have lived enough in the world and have a hard time trusting people around you to behave, whenever you’re out and about, you do carry a pistol. The holster is hidden by your jacket ninety-nine percent of the time so people will assume you’re unarmed and underestimate you, but you’re definitely not stupid enough to go out and do what you do without some sort of weapon.
5 Headcanons About Your Life:
You grew up in a family where everyone was related to the underground in some way. Some of your relatives were part of the underground in a rather…unsavory way, but your parents both worked as information brokers, which is how you met and got to know the Nails brothers. Dave and your parents would sometimes share information or tips and secrets about things, when the need arose, and on those occasions, you would hang out with Badou and your brother.
It was actually not only Dave’s death, but your mother’s the following month that inspired you to open your own P.I. business. You’d been helping in your parent’s business since your preteens, so it wasn’t too much of a jump. However, though work can be easy enough to find, it’s a little less profitable than you thought it would be.
Thank god for people like Kiri…in exchange for information she wants or needs, she’ll often give you free meals and Mimi, another childhood friend whose parents had worked in the same business, invites you over for supper pretty regularly.
You find yourself reunited with Badou while working on a case he’s also supposedly working on and your friendship with him rekindles, which is how you get introduced to most of the other characters. Though you try to mostly just focus on your own life, you find yourself being sucked into their lives and dramas and all the things happening.
Your parents were some of Bishop’s only frequent parishioners, as they were both religious. While you don’t have religion anymore, not much of it, you still stop by the church often as it’s a comfort place for you.

“Find Giovanni,” N said, “Tell him that if he isn’t in this room in the next ten minutes, I will release all these ultrabeasts, and that they all want revenge on him.”
“Yes. These are my reshiram, rapidash, and leafeon.
“As soon as we get home, I think we should put our version of Ghetsis in a real prison.”
The two sisters appeared shocked to see N show a harsher side.

“What happened here?” (Silver // virescorde)
V I O L E N C E
Ghetsis had the expression of someone who had stepped in wet dog shit. That, however, would have been less irritating than having to clean off the Rocket's blood from his glove and face. Ghetsis himself had come out of the fight unscathed. His assailant had been inexperienced and unfamiliar with him, mistaking him for a frail, old man who could easily be felled. It was that presumptuousness which led the grunt to find himself dead with a crushed skull.
This situation wasn't at all new and perhaps it was that familiarity that kept Ghetsis's temper in check when an unexpected voice broke his focus. Giovanni's brat?
Tumblr media
"Hmph. Your father seems to take some amusement from using me as a disposal service for his weaker subordinates," he assumed as he wiped the sticky blood from his hands with a handkerchief. "Or perhaps he knew you'd be here and wanted me to send some gruesome message to you. Either way..." He moved to pass Silver, pausing to stuff the soiled rag in the younger man's pocket. "Please inform him that I am not his errand boy."

Rainhan:

Mustard: Chaotic Old Man. Very much love him. 120/10
Peony: Everyone's dad. Too bad his battle theme's the worst in the game. 100/10

Stealing this book meme from @wormwoodandhoney, originally from booktubers! Feel free to steal it from me!
1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2021: In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado. What can I say about this book? I don’t read a whole lot of dark memoirs, but this true story of the author’s relationship with an abusive girlfriend is formatted by taking it through a million different literary and film genres, examining it through a million different lenses, pulling out the reader’s heart a million different ways.  It’s amazing.
The other favorite book I’ve read so far is A Libertarian Walks Into a Bear by Matthew Hongoltz-Hetling.  It’s also dark non-fiction, but this one reads like super-dark comedy, Stephen King by way of the Coen Brothers.  It’s about libertarians attempting to make their ideal community in an economically depressed Vermont town, exactly the same time a bunch of bears who may have had a brain-affecting parasite started invading.  My husband called it Bearoshock.
2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2021: Bright We Burn by Kiersten White. This was the final book in The Conqueror’s Saga, an alternate history about a female Vlad the Impaler.  While I (still) found the relationship with Mehmed a bit forced, this continued to present one of my all time favorite antiheroines, unlikeable and terrifying and very compelling.  I know very little about this history, which I imagine would make me like the book either more or less, but White really knows how to capture and keep my interest.
3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to: Angel of the Overpass by Seanan McGuire, the final book in her Ghost Roads trilogy, my favorite of her many series.  Just ordered it!
4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year: The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix.  I’ve already read multiple books with similar premises (Final Girls, We Are All Completely Fine) but I adore Grady Hendrix and I feel he’s wonderful with female protagonists and premises that are silly on the outside and very deep on the inside.  He’s an automatic buy for me.
5. Biggest disappointment: The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead.  This won the Pulitzer Prize, so it’s probably my fault for not getting it.  Still, I was baffled that you’d come up with a steampunk/magic realism concept about a literal railroad to freedom and then not actual do anything with the railroad.
6. Biggest surprise: The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio (translation by Wayne A. Rebhorn) is so much fun!  The stories are so bawdy and goofy and the narrator’s voice is really delightful.  Sympathetic to Jews, disdainful of the church and preoccupied with the idea of women being in their rights to seek out good times, it gave me a view of the kind of Renaissance personality I have never seen onscreen. Besides, tailoring stories to tell to friends during a plague is something I’ve been doing a lot in the past year or so, so I strongly identified.
7. Favorite new author. (Debut or new to you): Alyssa Cole.  Her romance novella Let it Shine was amazingly beautiful and painful and sexy and compulsively readable.  I have to check out her Loyal League series now!
8. Newest fictional crush: As above, Ivan Friedman from Let it Shine, a Jewish boxer and activist in 1960s Virginia full of passion and fight, committed to being the one who takes punches for other people.  But I wouldn’t want to take him away from Sofie, respectable black college girl turned Freedom Rider.
9. Newest favorite character: Jordan Baker from The Chosen and the Beautiful by Nghi Vo, a magical realist retelling of The Great Gatsby.  This Jordan is a Vietnamese adoptee, stylish and smart but forever an outsider, possessed of a magical talent exploited by her selfish best friend, in love with two weak-willed people, the only one who can see through to demonic souls even after it’s too late.  I got an ARC from work- look out for my official review!
10. Book that made you cry: Help at Any Cost by Maria Szalavitz.  Oof.  This is a scathing and horrifying and unfortunately page-turning expose of schools designed to break “troublesome” children into submission.  It’s a few decades old, but I can’t imagine this line of thinking and abuse has gone away.  (Side note: it inspire me to try and write a ghost story, which I can’t decide whether it might be in bad taste, but it’s the way I have to work out my feelings.)
11. Book that made you happy: Paperback Crush by Gabrielle Moss, an examination of the pre-Harry Potter ya books sold at scholastic fairs, meant for only a few uses.  I haven’t read most of them, but this made me feel like I was on a giddy sugar rush at a sleepover party, recommending and making fun of books with my friends.
12. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received): Through the Woods by Emily Carroll.  An eerie graphic novel collection of Carroll’s horror stories. illustrated in a deceptively simplistic but bone-chilling style.
13. What books do you need to read by the end of the year? The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, partly because it looks amazing but also to justify impulse buying it when I already had too many unread books at home.

Potatoes.
Click “keep reading” to read more about my thoughts on my team comps and strategies I used.
First round: Shauntal
Parameters: Special Dmg. Reduction, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ 1, No Status Conditions, Strength ↑ 1, Sync Buff ↑ 5, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ Defense & Sp. Def ↑ 3, Ally Healing ↓ 5, Power ↑ on Hit 1, Gradual Healing at Start, Strength ↑ 2, Ally Move Gauge Max -2, Strength ↑ 6
Team Comp: 3/5 Misty & Starmie with Vigilance, 5/5 Bugsy & Scyther, 2/5 EX Steven (Summer 2020) & Alolan Sandslash with Critical Strike 2
I was debating between facing off Grimsley or Shauntal with the infinite field effects buff, since infinite sun is really nice, but I decided to face off Shauntal with this buff as this team is notorious for speed issues. I am waiting to get another move candy to finally 3/5 Summer Steven.
Second round: Grimsley
Parameters: Physical Dmg. Reduction, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ 1, No Status Conditions, Strength ↑ 1, Sync Buff ↑ 5, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ 3, No Stat Reduction, Ally Healing ↓ 5, Power ↑ on Hit 1, Gradual Healing at Start, Strength ↑ 2, Ally Move Gauge Max -2, Strength ↑ 6
Team Comp: 3/5 EX Skyla & Swanna with Vigilance, 2/5 Sgyna Suit Erika & Leafeon with Critical Strike 2, 3/5 EX Sygna Suit Red & Mega Charizard X with Critical Strike 2
So while queueing up moves after the sync I accidentally clicked Flare Blitz and I thought it would turn out fine. I take some recoil, heal up, everything's good now. It was not. Red took himself out so I had to reset the stage. It was fine in the end though.
Third round: Marshal
Parameters: Physical Dmg. Reduction, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ 1, No Status Conditions, Strength ↑ 1, Sync Buff ↑ 5, Defense & Sp. Def ↑ 3, No Stat Reduction, Ally Healing ↓ 5, Power ↑ on Hit 1, Gradual Healing at Start, Strength ↑ 2, Ally Move Gauge Max -2, Strength ↑ 6
Team Comp: 5/5 EX Dawn & Torterra with Vigilance, 2/5 May (Anniversary 2022) & Latias, 5/5 EX Giovanni & Mega Mewtwo Y with Critical Strike 2
YES I CAVED I GOT ANIMAY.
So ah funny story: I clicked the wrong parameters for this round. Instead of running the usual all damage parameters with this one have a defense up one so I can take out the No Stat Reduction so I can take advantage of Mewtwo's Brainteaser node on the sync grid. But I just picked up the defense parameter, didn't pick the attack one since I was clicking so fast. And I didn't find this out until I beat the stage. So oops.
Fourth round: Caitlin
Parameters: Special Dmg. Reduction, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ 1, Strength ↑ 1, Sync Buff ↑ 5, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ 3, Defense & Sp. Def ↑ 3, Ally Healing ↓ 5, Power ↑ on Hit 1, Gradual Healing at Start, Strength ↑ 2, Ally Move Gauge Max -2, Strength ↑ 6
Team Comp: 5/5 Professor Sycamore & Xerneas with Vigilance, 3/5 Rachel & Umbreon with Defense Crush 2, 2/5 EX Hilbert (Fall 2020) & Mightyena with Critical Strike 2
It's been 84 years since I used Xerneas. And it shows because I really forgot how OP he is. He's one of my top F2P legendary units and I cannot wait for him to get an EX, even if it'll take forever since he's Gen 6.
Final round: Iris
Parameters: Special Dmg. Reduction, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ 1, No Status Conditions, Strength ↑ 1, Sync Buff ↑ 5, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ Defense & Sp. Def ↑ 3, Ally Healing ↓ 5, Power ↑ on Hit 1, Gradual Healing at Start, Strength ↑ 2, Ally Move Gauge Max -2, Strength ↑ 6
Team Comp: 5/5 Hop & Zamazenta with Vigilance, 1/5 Professor Kuikui & Midday Form Lycanroc, 1/5 EX Bea & Sirfetch’d with Critical Strike 2
I really need to EX Wally. I know the law states that whenever there's a fighting weak stage i have to use Bea, but with her being at 1/5 still while Wally is sitting at a 5/5 I really have no excuse as to why he isn't EX yet. Also, this game is taunting me by having me face off Champion Iris. 21k gems in, and I still don't have her.

Omg I saw that you used to write for the assassin’s creed fandom and honestly what a throwback 😭 are they on livejournal?
Aahhh, this is the part where I have to admit, I don't think I ever put any of those drabbles online! It was more a fun thing me and wife used to do, writing very very short 5 minute one-shots based on single word-prompts.
Oh, wait! Apparently I actually still have them, in an old folder of mine! Will post under a cut. These are AC 1-3-brotherhood, primarily focused on the latter.
La Volpe/Cesare post the fall of the Borgia was my main rarepair ship in that fandom, so that's the main (if occasionally only implied) focus for a lot of these. (CW some dubcon/non-con under the cut, so be warned.) 😊
Tumblr media
1 Unwillingness
It goes against everything he is, a greater challenge than any battlefield taken on. Snarling, eyes blazing his defiance, Cesare submits for now.
2 Memento
”Something to remember me by,” murmurs Volpe softly against the sensitive skin of his neck, and it's all Cesare can do not to yelp as those vicious teeth leave a bleeding gash in his ear.
3 Baseline
He still doesn't trust Machiavelli, Volpe muses, and it's equally clear Machiavelli doesn't trust him. Perhaps their shared love of secrecy is the one dependent thing about their relationship.
4 Sniper
He has shot guards from rooftops, towers, horseback, beams and the treacherous crumbling tops of ancient stone pillars. So why was it, muses Ezio afterward, that he hadn't even thought of pulling crossbow or gun out as his sworn enemies held their short council in the courtyard a few measly yards below his feet?
5 Birthplace
It is in Masyaf the order of Assassins was born into what it is now. Searching for answers Ezio sets out on the longest journey of his life, back to the beginning of all.
6 Denunciation
It is hard to remember what it was like to have faith, Cesare thinks, but easy to remember when it was lost. What God could ever work through the instrument that was Alexander VI, his father?
7 Distaste
”Volpe, you didn't!” Ezio exclaims, his face a mask of distaste. Volpe smirks.
”Oh, it was not at all bad. Cesare is well trained.”
Ezio shudders. ”That is exactly what bothers me!”
8 Elimination
Constantly, frustratingly one step behind, it is little Cesare can do as his allies are meticulously taken out by the Assassins one by one. And yet it is not until the last of those on his side willingly turn their backs on him that he realizes this battle is lost.
9 Bluntness
”You can do as I say,” says the master thief matter-of-factly, turning the vial of antidote over in his spindly fingers, ”or you can spend the night dying slowly while vomiting your innards all over the floor. The choice is yours.”
Pale with fury Cesare chooses to live.
10 Turf
The Assassins had been myth, legend, bed-time stories to frighten a young boy already afraid of the dark. But as they dealt an all but deadly blow to his father inside the Vatican itself, Cesare grimly declares war. Roma is his city, and all who oppose his rule must be swiftly and mercilessly dealt with.
11 Assassination
He burns for the ideals, fights the fight with passion and utter devotion. But when Shaun's shaking hands lower the suddenly impossibly heavy gun he knows something he'dnever even thought about (Innocence? Compassion? Humanity?) has perished as surely as that very first body at his feet.
12 Apprentice
He remembers a gangly youth skidding across slippery roof tiles, trying so hard to keep up and even harder to hide his inability to do so. La Volpe silently studies Il Mentore and considers he's no longer sure who would lead the way across the rooftops.
13 Debris
Ezio swears as the ceiling collapses over the bed he shared with Caterina until moments ago – his armor and weapons are buried in the rubble and will be hard to replace. He does not yet know they will be the least of his losses this day.
14 Scolding
Altaïr has never been one to accept blame or criticism for his actions, but something about the way Malik's not-there left arm twitches as to shake a not-there fist in his face as the man speaks makes him look away in hidden shame.
15 Torrent
The rain pours down over the city, making roofs and cobblestones alike wet and slippery. Volpe tugs his collar tighter around his shoulders against the biting cold and idly contemplates if a trip to the Castello would be worth the trouble.
16 Anchor
He cheats and steals and tells honeyed lies with the ease of a snake. But his eyes can be oceans and his touch velvet – sometimes Ezio wonders if his always restless, inspiration-ridden friend keeps Salai around just to remember what it's like to be human.
17 Truce
”It would be nice,” says Machiavelli evenly, ”if you would not so readily name yourself judge, jury and executioner the next time you fall victim to unfounded suspicion.”
”Fine,” mutters Volpe, frowning. ”It would be niceif you were not so secretive. And stop trying to steal my spies. Get your own.”
”Fine,” Machiavelli replies with a minute smirk.
Fellowship is knowing just when your brother-in-arms is lying.
18 Nook
There are many unknown and unseen hiding places among the rooftops of Florence. On his back, hair plastered against his face and hot breath against his ear, Giovanni concludes it's very handy that La Volpe always knows to find one when you need it.
19 Orgy
These parties are more to his father's tastes than his his, Cesare firmly tells himself, perhaps letting his eyes linger thoughtfully on the multitude of courtesans a moment longer than intended. Then a familiar slender hand grazes his thigh and he is reminded that the only person even close to matching his own schemes, cunning and skill is the woman on the throne next to his.
20 Scoff
”I spend all my time in the Animus,” Desmond frowns, ”Lucy's keeping an eye on Abstergo and Rebecca... hacks and stuff. What do youdo, really? Anyone could use, what, Google and Wikipedia?”
Shaun grins or at least bares his teeth.
”You mean Templar Central One and Two? No, it's called obtaining knowledge, Desmond - sifted like little gold nuggets of fact from the vast sands of ignorance you're so fond of burying your head in. Google can't help you there, I'm afraid.”
21 Scolding
At the time, Ezio always figured Giovanni's constant nagging and pleading with him to stay out of trouble was only the worrying of an overprotective father. Only later was he taught discretion was part of the ancient Assassin's creed. He never got very good at it, even so.
22 Bonfire
No-one is entirely sure why Julius II has tempered justice with mercy for now and opted for his enemy's imprisonment rather than death sentence. As far as la Volpe is concerned, the way Cesare goes pale whenever the topic is brought up is at least good for entertainment.
23 Nakedness
Being exposed holds no particular shame for him, but the walls and floor are freezing to the touch, draining precious warmth from his aching body. Now would be a prudent time for an accursed thief to show up with a blanket to bargain for.
24 Arbiter
It was funny, Machiavelli drily noted in his notebook, how God and Divine Justice so often were on the side of the biggest army with the sharpest swords.
25 Purgatory
The land burns, smoke choking the sky and tinting the sun a sickly shade of blood. It is with a cold and unfamiliar sense of foreboding Cesare hurries through the flames toward the towering walls of the fortress to escape this hell on earth – one way or another.
26 Fingernail
Ezio has more than his fair share of scars adorning his hardened body, some remembered more fondly than others. He would never dream to ask Caterina to trim her nails, or use them just a touch more carefully.
27 Slavery
The Creed dictates freedom of thought, and in his reckless youth Altaïr would use it as justification for any rash impulse. But the older he grows, the more he comes to realize freedom and all its crushing responsibility can be the harshest master of all.
28 Carnivore
When confronted on his nasty habit of biting, Volpe only grins and quips something about foxes and their nature. Cesare is tempted to snap he's often seen dirty foxes prowling the back streets for garbage, but can see where Volpe would go with that, and so holds his tongue.
29 Bluntness
Ezio is too flustered after his mother's blunt request he find other outlets than vaginas to realize the enthusiastic young artist at his side seems more than eager to offer a few suggestions on the particular subject.
30 Vow
He will live, Cesare vows. He will live, he will regain his freedom, his power and his army. At any cost. And then they will. All. Pay.
31 Blending
It was simply not fair, thought Machiavelli, that no matter how solid your acting, no matter how meticulousyour disguise, Volpe would immediately spot you in a crowd and grin at you. Clearly spying on the sly old fox called for more cunning means, he conceded as he made his way to the Rosa to shamelessly bribe Claudia for information.
32 Misconduct
“Not that we are in any particular hurry to the Castello,” Orsini says, the knuckles of his war-gauntlet quite pleasantly buried in Cesare's face, “but things would just be easier all around if you would stop squirming and came quietly.”
33 Ultimatum
“If you don't stop hogging my mp3-player,” Rebecca whispers softly in Shaun's ear, “I'll tell Lucy exactly whatyou and Desmond used her yoghurts for last night.”
34 Takeover
“Stop!” Lucrezia commands as the soldiers feed the paintings to the fire – already the image of a swan is crackling and fading to black amongst the flames. Such a waste of beauty. She hasn't even realized Cesare is standing behind her, fierce and bloodied after the battle, until he speaks.
“You like them?”
She nods, and he touches her cheek with a smile, careful not to stain her hair.
“Then they are yours. A memento of the day the Assassini fell.”
35 Afterlife
“I blame you for this,” says Cesare flatly as the imps re-heat the lake of boiling tar. Again. “There is no God, you said. No heaven and no hell, you said. Stupid old bastard.”
Rodrigo mutters something about Hell being other people, but will have to concede that in this trifling matter, yes, he was mistaken.
36 Distaste
He would rather be hated than forgotten, Cesare sullenly thinks, rubbing his stiff hands for warmth. Bony, filthy, with the matted long hair of a hermit falling into his face, he has to settle for the guards' contempt. At least it's better than pity.
37 Slavery
He isn't really paid, Leonardo thinks, merely kept alive, yes. Not really compensated as such. And so the construction of the intricate war-machines is really on the consciences of his masters, not his. Sting of guilt quenched he returns to the blueprints with renewed fevered enthusiasm.
38 Probation
“What's the catch”, asks Cesare with deepest suspicion.
“No catch,” Volpe assures, looking innocent. “Just a reward for your recent good behaviour. Keep it up and there may a meal and a hot bath in it for you, too.”
Cesare does not for a moment believe they are just going out 'to stretch their legs', but a meal does sound inviting. He follows.
39 Adversity
Ezio strongly disapproved of the idea of his little sister taking over the Rosa in Fiore, and he frankly can't say whether he is more disappointed or proud when it flourishes under her care.
40 Bluntness
“You are a thief,” Machiavelli growls, piqued into a rare display of anger. “A liar and a cheat and an honourless thief!”
Volpe grins.
“All those things. And I'm still better than you.”
41 Scheming
Ezio gave the Apple to Mario, who had it stolen by Cesare, who gave it to Leonardo, who found it plucked out of his helpless hands by the Pope and his daughter. He ponders life was easier when he was just a painter. The Apple is a thing of awe, but the intrigues in its wake make his head hurt.
It wasn't that Cesare particularly hated his older brother. It was just that while he no longer childishly sought his father's approval, the position as the Pope's favorite son came with several practical perks. Unfortunately for Juan, that meant he simply had to go.
43 Truce
When things are civilized, they can be bearable, almost even pleasant. The food is good, the wine plentiful, and Volpe's skilled fingers all but gentle. An unspoken truce, no matter how temporary. But neither man ever forgets the truth, which is war.
44 Scour
They answer to no-one, self-proclaimed executioners beyond all law. Too much blood on their hands now. Just before sunrise Cesare gives the command to attack. The cleansing of Monteriggioni has begun.
45 Extrovert
To hold his own council and play his cards close to his heart has always been his way, and he knowshe is a master at his game. And yet, Machiavelli can grudgingly admit to himself, it isn't until the boisterous chaos in human guise that is Ezio bursts in on the Roman scene that he begins to see how they will win this war.
46 Protagonist
“I will avenge the cowardly, treacherous plot against my father,” he thinks. “I will root out all those involved, every single one, and I will kill them and all they stand for.”
No-one ever sets out to be a hero, only to do what is right.
For Cesare, the path ahead is clear.
47 Willpower
It is never easy. Every time Altaïr visits his (his!) bureau in Jerusalem, Malik has to struggle with himself not to slay the man in his sleep. On many a moonlit night, only a lifetime of discipline stays the blade in his white-knuckled hand.
But strangely, it does get easier over time.
48 Esacalation
At first it had been mere proof of his ability to go anywhere in Roma as well he pleased, the taunting and impotent rage in response a given bonus. After some time, forced still-furious intimacy gained through blackmail had appeared a logical step. Then force turned out redundant. As Cesare clings to him, nails biting into his arms and teeth bared with need, Volpe admits to himself he would never have suspected the caged Borgia would so willingly use him to sate his desires – nor the other way around.
49 Torrent
Raw grief fades over time, a broken heart healed into a dull ache. The thing that keeps Claudia from sleeping at night is not all she has lost, but her screaming frustration at not being able to take her fate, and that of those responsible, into her own hands.
50 Danger
The peaceful life he had envisioned just the evening before will have to wait, Ezio grimly decides, pressing a hand to his wounded shoulder and focusing on not falling off his horse. And despite the shock, grief and pain, it somehow feels right. He has lived this life so long, he isn't sure he remembers how not to.
51 Splattering
Leonardo likes to buy birds at the market and set them free, watching with dreaming eyes as they take to the endless sky. Once, Ezio surprises his friend with twenty white doves. Much belatedly he wishes he'd remembered that stressed pigeons prefer to lighten their load before taking off.
52 Ramification
“It is time you take responsibility for your actions,” Rodrigo snarls, and Cesare struggles with the impulse to scream, childishly, “But father, younever did!”
53 Concession
“I'm not sure we should...”
Lover and Thief, silhouettes in the dark, alone. A light touch.
“Come now. It will be good, I promise.”
“But, what if...”
“Ssh. Are we not both Assassins? Everything is permitted.”
His honed thief's nerves tingling with foreboding warnings, La Volpe allows Claudia to persuade him in the end, knowing Ezio will probably kill him, and that it will no doubt be worth it.
54 Leer
You can't even seehis face in the shadows beneath the cowl. And yet, Volpe just standing there outside the bars, nonchalantly leaning one hand against the wall, makes Cesare want to scream. Or punch him hard. Preferably both.
55 Whisper
Ezio reflects that there are few other voices he would instantly recognize by just a short, urgent uttering of his name. His hesitation to turn around stems not from uncertainty, but the childish wish to postpone the trial of his oldest friend's rumored treason just a few moments longer.
56 Absurdity
At first Ezio had felt confused, then worried and finally terrified. But as they've fled Florence and the man introducing himself as uncle Mario tells him that his family belongs to an ancient clan of legendary assassins, relief washes over him. Finally is clear it has all been an insane dream. He can't wait to wake up.
57 Experimentation
Leonardo da Vinci is a true genius, his brilliant mind always seeing the world through a lens of wonder. Nothing escapes his never-sated curiosity – but that a small poseable wooden mannequin could be used like that? Cesare is a man not easily impressed, but will have to admit the artist rarely fails to amaze.
58 Farewell
It is with uncharacteristic kindness Volpe kisses him, between shared gasps for air after their final tryst. A last goodbye before the approaching dawn will see Cesare on his way to exile in Spain.
”Growing sentimental, old fox?” the younger man scoffs at him. ”No need. I shall return soon enough, and repaint the walls of Roma with Assassin blood.”
Volpe just smiles. He has already helped Ezio prepare his own journey and knows with certainty that Cesare will never again return to Rome.
59 Turf
”Maybe Giovanni could get away with doing paperwork all day over in Florence,” Mario says, and his tone clearly states what he thinks about his brother's choice. ”But arround here we train Assassins, not accountants or delivery boys.”
Ezio's body has never ached as much in his life as it does after his first day of training with his uncle.
60 Smoothness
When she smiles her deep red lips are like tantalizing rose petals, framed by sun-ray golden hair. She is smooth, flawless, perfect. But every rose has its thorns, and Lucrezia's are laden with poison.
61 Kneeling
Every fiber of Ezio's body strains desperately to regain control as he jerks like a puppet on golden strings of light.
”You are lucky,” breathes Rodrigo in a low, husky growls, leaning hard on the staff after the battle, ”So verylucky, little Assassin, that I am in a hurry.”
As the dagger sinks into his guts, Ezio briefly thinks that indeed, it could have been so much worse.
62 Purgatory
The imps don't know whether to feel amused or put out that the screaming, flailing argument between father and son has by now escalated to the point they don't even seem to register the lake of boiling tar anymore. A bit of respect for good solid workmanship, is that too much to ask?
63 Lick
It has to be said in favour of Machiavelli's assassin reflexes that the unexpected lick at his ear out of the dark earns Volpe neither a jump or a shriek but a rapid fist to the nose.
Only half an hour later, safely home in his bedroom, does Niccolo allow himself to contemplate what might have otherwise transpired.
64 Bonfire
It is a sad thing, reflects Ezio in hindsight, older, wiser, that compared to all the priceless art and knowledge fed to fire during Savonarola's mad reign of Florence, the mere loss of a human life that ended it is remembered with little sense of loss or revulsion.
65 Last
After Mario's death, Ezio has felt the weight of being the last Auditore Assassin ever heavier on his shoulders. But as he watches Claudia fearlessly take her leap of faith, he wonders how he could ever have been blind enough to think himself alone.
66 Well
The guards in hot pursuit yell and stab at wells, haystacks and dark alleyways. From his perch on a rooftop Ezio smiles. He always did prefer to take to the sky.
67 Wrongdoer
As his support falters and the opposition grows ever bolder, Cesare becomes increasingly frustrated with their attacks and accusations. He would prefer to answer only for his own sins, not those of his dead father.
68 Deliberate
It really is getting unnerving, decides Machiavelli, the way Volpe has taken up the habit of commenting on his every observation with a frosty ”Indeed” or ”Yes, quitethe coincidence”. He wishes he could believe the man isn't doing it on purpose.
69 Counter
When he first arrives in Jerusalem, Altaïr can't quite shake the feeling that the only thing between him and certain death is a rather narrow, map-strewn desk.
70 Bribe
Cesare has always been good at striking a profitable bargain. Unfortunately Borgia as a currency is bitterly deflated, and these days he often have to sell himself too cheap for comfort. Even though it isa warm, snug blanket.
71 Chess
Cesare knows he is a brilliant strategist – not so much because of the expected praise from his subordinates as from the satisfactory number of pins currently adorning his map of Italy. He would like to believe himself modest in this, careful not allow hubris to cheat him of a victory. And yet he never knows whether to frown or laugh helplessly as the absent-minded artist all but appologetically check-mates his king time and time and time again.
72 Feel
Leonardo never knows how to feel when Cesare enters the room. At first he is apprehensive, but as weeks turn into months and he realizes he's not only allowed but encouraged to dream up grander designs than ever before he is thrilled.
In the end, seeing the Assassins' plans put into motion long before Cesare even knows the final battle has begun, he can only avert his eyes in regret.
73 Mister
”Outside the kingdom of God is the realm of men,” Salai says, leaning just an inch too close. ”You worship there, Messere?”
Only years of training his clueless look on Leonardo helps Ezio keep a straight face as he blankly waves for the boy to follow him.
74 Fine
There are simply too many guards around for a discreet kill, so Ezio grudlingly counts the florins and hands them over. How was heto know he wasn't allowed to park his horse there? Time to liberate another stable from its Borgia-tower shadow, he decides. Burning them all down is easier than keeping track of territories anyway.
75 Dog
If La Volpe is the fox and Ezio the bird of prey, Pantasilea ponders, then Bartolomeo reminds her of a large, lumbering dog. Faithful and loyal unto death, but with a booming bark and a vicious bite for those who threaten those dear to him.
76 Forgotten
When Volpe appears he is the first person Cesare has seen in days. He greets the thief with his usual brazen curses, careful not to let any trace of relief shine through. Of all things he is most afraid to be left alone to die; not slain out of hatred or need, but simply ignored and forgotten.
77 Changed
Had Ezio been the kind of man to think upon such things, he might have noticed the Cesare facing him atop the towering walls is not the self-assured young general he met a handful years previous in Roma. Tired-looking and hunched over he looks defeated even before the battle has begun. But Ezio is here for one single purpose alone, and has never been the kind of man to think of such things anyway.
78 Gondola
Antonio assures Leonardo that only from an extensive tour with his private gondola will the artist truly get to know his new home town. As it happens, a rocky two-hour boat ride later, Leonardo still hasn't really seen much of the city. But that's quite alright, as he happily agrees to repeat the endeavour soon again.
79 Casino
It never hurts to try to win Fortuna's favour when gambling is one of your favorite pastimes, Salai knows, but in this particular case divine intervention is quite a bit closer at hand. As long as you have La Volpe's favor, the dice at the Sleeping Fox will never let you down.
80 Soup
The first bowl of watery gruel ends up thrown in the guard's face with enough force to break his nose. The next morning the second splinters against the wall. Nearly a week passes before he forces himself to eat the fifth, to preserve his strength.
Cesare closes his eyes as he quickly raises the bowl to his face to wolf down the hundredth, before the reflection in the dull surface can show him what he has become.
81 Carrot
”Tell you what,” murmurs Volpe in the starving prisoner's ear, dangling the vegetable in front of his face, ”If you give me a good enough show I'll even let you keep it for supper when you're done.”
82 Madame
Volpe has to admit himself impressed – Claudia is shrewd, ruthless and horrifyingly practical, and stillmanages to be praised a good businesswoman rather than cursed a thief.
83 Kilt
Yes, Ezio decides as he flexes his body inside the unfamiliar weight of Romulus' armour, there is definitely a draft around his nether regions. Whatever the old Romans may have thought, a skirt of leather belts does notconstitute proper clothing.
After some swearing and creative arranging of his spare cloak he considers it may well look even moreof a skirt, but at least this cut preserves his manly dignity when he jumps.
84 Theft
He has stolen valuables, information, people and lives. La Volpe draws in a deep breath as he surveys Roma in the first light of morning, then exhales in satisfaction. She is the greatest city in the world, and she is all his for the taking.

Tagged by @questwithambition! Thank you lovely <3
Why did you choose your url? I wanted to have something that represents music and books, since that’s most of my blog, and I adore Don Giovanni (“leggete con me” is a line from the famous catalog aria, and translates to “read with me”)! Maybe it’s a little pretentious, but I like it.
Any side blogs? Not anymore. I used to have one where I talked about my struggles with an eating disorder (which is the first time I’m mentioning that here so surprise lol), but your girl has very happily recovered :)
When did you first join Tumblr? Ooh, I’m not sure. 2016-ish? I had a few blogs before I settled on this one, though.
Do you have a queue tag? Nope. I hardly ever queue things, I’m not that organized.
Why did you start your blog in the first place? I’d just started college and campus was really pretty, and I was inspired by all the beautiful studyblrs and academia blogs!
Why did you choose your icon/pfp? I like having a fairly recent photo of myself, and I liked how I looked in this one fairly well.
Why did you choose your header? Sheet music is pretty, I’m a music student, and I was working on this piece when I chose it ^^
What’s your post with the most notes? Um... honestly I’m not sure but it’s either the one with the Liszt quote: “Art is far more powerful than the artist,” or one of my collections of pictures from Holywell Cemetery.
How many mutuals do you have? A few over 100. Love y’all <333
How many followers do you have? 900-something. I don’t know how that happened, but thank you! <3
How many people do you follow? 500-something, but I should probably look through those for inactive blogs at some point.
Have you ever made a shitpost? Of course!
How often do you use Tumblr each day? An hour, maybe? Probably under, but I’m not sure.
Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? Never.
How do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts? I don’t like them. I understand that certain things are important, but different blogs serve different purposes. Some like to have news and information and awareness messages, and that’s great! Some (like mine) like to be a sanctuary from the stress of the world, and that’s okay! Some (also like mine) like to only post original content, and that’s also okay! No one should be shamed (or feel ashamed!) for what they don’t reblog.
Do you like tag games? Yes! Sometimes I forget about them or take awhile to do them, but I love them! Even if I don’t participate in one, it makes me super happy when someone thinks of tagging me for them!
Do you like ask games? I love the idea, but I haven’t done any. Should I?
Which of your mutuals do you think is Tumblr famous? I honestly don’t know...
Do you have a crush on a mutual? Nope!
I’m not tagging anyone in particular today, but if you want to do this feel free to say I tagged you :)

What a productive day.
Completed Tornadus’ challenges in one go, honored one of the first 5* sync pairs that I got from gacha other than Wally his well-deserved EX, and cleared this week’s Champion Stadium.
Tornadus Challenge: I know I needed to finish the Electric and Gym Leader Tornadus challenge mission, but wow. Anniversary N is just so good. Literally nothing could stop him from doing most of the work in the Legendary Arena. Day by day I become more and more glad to have Anni N in my team.
SS Grimsley EX: Wally and SS Grimsley are the first 5* sync pairs that I got from gacha, and the ones that I still regularly use until now. I remembered how happy I was when I got them. I had EX-ed Wally, so I would honor the same to SS Grimsley. Considering how difficult the fights against Shauntal were, and how much I needed SS Grimsley against her, I think it’s a good decision to EX him. He’s the fifth EX sync pair in my team, other than Rosa, Wally, Giovanni, and Anni N.
Champion Stadium:
- Agatha: First parameter is the sync countdown reduction. I know starting off with Agatha wasn’t the best decision, but after checking the parameter list, I wanted to save those for later fights.
Sidney is just damn fun to use. So, there are three Critical Strike skills on my team’s Sidney: one from his passive, another from his grid, and the other from Lucky Skill. I didn’t even aim for that either, I just got Critical Strike on the first Lucky Candy and decided to run with it. As a result, he dealt crazy damage when crits, and critting is easy once he got his buff up. Especially after Mega Evolved, he dealt even more damage and that was so great and satisfactory.
Maybe it’s a bit of overkill in terms of crits, that’s why I wanted to test whether or not there’s a case of overstacking one skill is bad. Like, maybe two Master Healers and two MP refresh are great but three are bad, that kinda thing. Guess it doesn’t seem to apply here in Pokemas. I guess overstacking one skill in one sync pair is good?
- Lance: I thought Lillie would be a great tank since she had Group Dragon Guard, but even with that, she took plenty of damage. Luckily I brought Leaf who could buff with Evoboost if needed. I also made good use of the “secondary effect attacks” parameter and used Zinnia. Thankfully the flinches happened pretty often, so Lillie survived despite taking plenty of damage. Leaf also constantly healed Lillie as well, so all is good.
- Bruno: I have no Ground-type sync pair other than Hapu and Clay, so I decided to use the steamroll team. I assumed Bruno would have Rock Slide, so Roxanne’s Wide Guard surely would help. The Rock Slide never came, and Roxanne went down because of the constant Defense Crush from Bruno wearing her down. Thankfully Giovanni managed to end the fight quickly before Bruno depleted Liza’s health.
Now I just realized, that while this team is great, it’s mostly designed for quick wipe. Preferably a wipe once Giovanni used his first sync. If Giovanni couldn’t wipe the opposing team quickly (because I’m not lucky enough to get a crit from the sync move, resulting in Roxanne going down) then it’s gonna be troublesome. This makes me wish Roxanne and Liza could get grids too someday, and hopefully that’ll improve their survivability, and maybe even adding more utilities.
- Lorelei: I wanted to bring Volkner, but SS Elesa couldn’t really tank stuff, and I also wanted a special tank. I was going to bring Halloween Caitlin or Knight Diantha, but I decided to go with Rosa since it’s been a long time since I used her. I geared Hau’s grid for Battle Villa (focusing on Discharge), so he’s not the best in Champion Stadium, which is why I resorted to use MC and Pikachu, whose grids I just modified to focus on Thunderbolt, Hostile Environment, Paralysis Synergy, and Master Healers+MP Refresh on Potion.
SS Elesa helped to inflict paralysis to Lorelei team, and quickened the sync move countdown, while MC just kept on attacking while healing occassionally. I was surprised that MC could deal around 20k damage from sync move without Volkner. Granted that there’s Paralysis synergy that helped, but damn. I guess I should rely on MC more in Electric-weak stages while waiting for N&Zekrom banner re-run...hopefully...
- Blue: Decided to run my Classic Blue against him for shits and giggles. Probably a bit of an overkill in the support since Halloween Caitlin and Hop are so great, but thanks to them the battle went very smoothly. I chose additional effect parameter for this fight so I could use Ancientpower and hoping for a buff, but that didn’t happen. I thought Blue’s attacks were mostly physical, but Hop tanked pretty well anyway. Besides, there’s also Halloween Caitlin being an amazing support as ever.
That’s all for this week’s rambling! I will keep doing my best next week!!
