okay guys here’s my crazy unsupported st5 theory that is mostly just me projecting my need for madwheeler bonding and drama and angst also byler duh

disclaimers: i never make theories so this is extremely messy probably, i know jack dookie abt writing shows i think of this as my own little version of what i would think would be very cool to happen, if this has loop holes dont ask me anything bc idk either

OKAY LETS GET ON IT

so first things first here is what i am taking into consideration for the theory to happen:

• mike pov, self reflection and introspection (he is gay and in love with will byers okay)

• madwheeler bonding, theyre both complex n misunderstood

• the upside down isnt just one dimension, i came up with this bc of how different the ud looks now

compared to when henry arrived.

to me theres like an umbrella dimension (yellow one) and others under it (blue one/hawkins ud, the void, etc)

this is also lowkey supported by the silly boobie diagram the writers posted abt

OKAY PREPARE FOR THE WORD VOMIT

in this silly theory of mine, a new dimension variant of the ud will be revealed in season 5, serving as a parallel to the void. this is where max is

OKAY another thing is this is also heavily based on those “leaks” that were going around twitter (for me at least) earlier when the strike first started. i remember a few of them claiming that we would get a deeper insight into mike and his own things, so this is my interpretation

this would serve as another vanishing, not really bc its shorter, but this time mike will be getting stuck in this other dimension, eventually finding max BOOM madwheeler serve

i mean look at them. the potential is insane

this dimension is like a combo of all the other ones, picture it like the hawkins ud, with the void’s wet floor maybe

lets go back to the fact max is here, this is her coma nightmare, its like this purgatory dimension vecna put her soul in

in this dimension inhabit your ghosts

this overwhelming, haunting, tormenting realm in your mind where you are constantly confronting all your bad memories, maybe this is kind of how vecna keeps max under his grasp, no happy memories allowed

okay so, mike gets there. how? when? i dont fucking know this is honestly just word vomit fanfiction to me

at first hes confused, scared but mostly confused, picture him screaming for wills name (the parallels) at first it’s empty and eerily quiet, but as he accepts it, the ghosts start coming in.

he gets BOMBARDED with these bad memories, some of them he cant even remember because come on, bro is always neglecting his internalized feelings/monologue in fear of what they say about him

this is where we get his pov on the whole will and eleven situation, amongst other things (like the way he’s constantly stressed thinking about the safety of the people he loves)

for a moment we see him break, bc these ghosts are LOUD and MANY

but it stops

max is here, she’s like “MIKE?”

“MAX?”

shes been here for a fat minute, she knows how to handle these ghosts in fact shes been going thru them one by one ever since, because shes done hiding. and she suspects that the only way to get out is by confronting them.

max saves mike from his ghosts, explains that this place is seemingly a purgatory with levels of memories and ghosts to overcome

this is how we get our madwheeler bonding we so graciously need, as they are part of eachother ghosts since theyre so similar it makes the other mad

this is how our complex misunderstood characters are broken down, explained to the audience, while also discovering the mystery that is this new dimension where at the finish line they might just figure out how to defeat vecna.

because they will

after overcoming the ghosts they find the place that vecna didnt think they would reach as he was so sure they would break and collapse on their own madness

think of it as how el found the source in season 3

or how max found vecnas lair after running away in dear billy

except this place is vecnas actual mind, they can see hear and feel what vecna is thinking, his plans and everything

mike wonders how will feels being able to feel this all the time

will feels this all the time

will is always connected to this piece of vecnas mind, to this source

he can always hear vecna

until he suddenly hears max… and mike and theyre calling for help

theyve figured out key clues on how to defeat vecna, and they have an idea on how to get out. this is how will’s connection comes in handy

Whee side order

My thoughts on it! THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!! Youve been warned.

So, here are my honest thoughts. Let me just start by warning further that this is mostly negative.

Took me about two hours and one attempt to beat all 30 floors. Was pretty fun. I used splattershot though because i suck at dualies.

But... it felt very quick. Felt like there was a whole lotta nothing plotwise, too. It was fun, but the plot is pretty weak. Its just another rogue-ai-tries-to-assimilate-everyone plot. Which has already been done. For some reason they keep trying to do octo expansion but again and they keep failing to do that.

Taking everything into consideration, acht really had no reason to be there. You could remove acht entirely and have the same results. And im not just saying that because i dont like dedf1sh. They dont add anything to anything.

I havent unlocked all marinas dev notes but so far theres been her motive of saving the sanitized octarians which......... i have my own personal issues with that. They seem to not be able to decide how they want sanitization to work.

Doing the pallets, i assumed they would give you some memory thing related to the associated character, but you just get a stupid little comment from the post-final boss that doesnt really add anything to the plot or the characters. Also murch is on luna blaster for some reason. I was speculating a lot on who luna blaster and octobrush could be assigned to, but seems like theyre just doing anyone. Murch is very irrelevant to everything as a whole so its kinda just like whatever.

That being said, i feel extremely bad for agent 4 fans. Those humanoid red eyed things with one of them looking like 4 and then them not doing anything with that at all was a huge fake out.

From what i saw, a lot of people were theorizing and expecting things based on all the evidence we got that we never did end up getting because they went an entirely different route. No agent 4 being possessed or whatever (unless thats still true and just unlocked much later, which im hoping because it would make everything a lot more interesting), no implied body swapping, no copybots.

And most of all, nothing from the first trailer we got. With all the concept art. I know it was just CONCEPT art for a reason, but surely you cant just show off all these things and then have the final result be absolutely nothing like it? Then again, splatoon 3 has had more than enough false advertising already, so i guess it was wrong to expect things to be as shown. I just really really liked the giant hostile architecture black spikes picture. And theres none of that at all.

Basically, everything that was expected was significantly cooler than what we got, and to be completely honest, i dont think it was worth splatoon 3 being in really bad shape for such a long time. I dont think it really justified the amount of dumb things that happened over the past few seasons.

I do still think its fun, and i absolutely am going to try to collect everything, but it was significantly less interesting overall than i anticipated.

I do think the final boss attacks syncing with the rhythm was cool. But other than that the level design is extremely repetitive and there really is no variation. Im only enjoying it now because ive used weapons that i like/dont mind using, but once i have to start using weapons im bad at i just know itll be insufferable.

Overall, i am unfortunately disappointed but i still have hope that maybe there is something more, because surely that couldnt have been it.

Also just because it doesnt go along with any of my oc stories at all and i am absolutely not changing anything on my end because frankly im sick of doing that

3. Timothy stoker, managed to convey he was wearing a hawaiian shirt by voice alone, also THIS MAN IS THE ARCHIVES BRAINCELL, THE SLUTTY BISEXUAL IS THE BRAINCELL HERE WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT THE ARCHIVES, BECAUSE SASHA VERY MUCH IS NOT THE BRAINCELL SHE FOLLOWED A DEFINITELY NOT HUMAN GUY TO A RANDOM GRAVEYARD WITH VERY LITTLE FOLLOW UP AS TO WHY SHE NEEDED TO GO, AND JON DOESNT HAVE IT FOR PREVIOUSLY STATED REASONS, AND MARTIN IS MARTIN, MEANING TIM IS THE ONLY BRAINCELL HERE. Not technically a Guy persay, but the beloved michael distortion for having a sick ass voice and an even sicker statement, shows up and just stabs the archivist just because he can, he is literally the embodiment of gaslighting gatekeeping and girlbossing and his design is very cool really regardless of how people draw him but ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY DRAW HIM WITH LIKE SUPER DISTORTED JOINTS AND MULTIPLE FACES AND SHIT LIKE MMMMMMMMM, he gets bonus points for having excellent hair and not being a who but a what

5. Georgie Barker I think has to go here, maybe alongside helen and Melanie, i love them all for very different reasons but they are just such girlbosses, georgie just doesn’t feel fear, had an existential crisis so hard her brain stopped processing it, she is the girl ever, also shes jons ex, automatically getting her more points, she had a skin clown break into her apartment and fuck with her lights and the only reason she was upset was because it meant she had to replace all her lightbulbs, Also georgie has a podcast where she talks about ghosts, which is really funny to me, and i would absolutely listen to her podcast

enemies to friends-ish to enemies to lovers, mc is a badass and the li is so in love (hes also a menace but mc kinda covers that lmao)

this is a 3 book series with a new series that just dropped that happens after the events of these 3 books

the order is: the cruel prince, the wicked king, the queen of nothing, stolen heir (the new book) but there are also books you can read in between (that i havent read myself)

by far the best book series ive read, i would sell my soul to read it again for the first time

circe - madelline miller

this is a story about circe, a godess (i think) from greek myth. the writing was beautiful, but since its myth, if youre not interested i dont reccomend

(same goes w song of achilles by the same writer)

shadow and bone & six of crows - leigh bardugo

(this one has a two season series on netflix too if youre interested)

shadow and bone - 3 books;

mc is so op honestly, she discovers magical powers early in the book and finds out shes grisha (ppl that have magical powers), but not just any grisha, shes a legend grisha, one of a kind

i dont really remember who she ends up with as its been a while since i read the books but one li is an ass while the other gives golden retriever vibes and i didnt like either of them /lh

six of crows - 2 books;

now listen, i didnt actually read these two books but in the tv show the two series are shown at the same time and i like the characters in this one more

the kane chronicles - rick riordan

percy jackson is so famous people forget this absolute gem right here.

the idea is the same as percy jackson, except this time its about egyptian gods instead (also techically mc isnt a child of the gods)

it has 3 books, with extra crossover books w pjo (that are also really good once you have the basics)

the midnight library - matt haig

i'm actually not sure what category this falls into.

mc has an accident and ends up at a library at exactly midnight, where the weird librarian tells her that this library is her life (of sorts). basically each book in the library is how her life couldve been like based on some decisions she made

and she keeps going to these other versions of her life by reading the books until she realizes hey, she wants to live, and goes back to her original life

not my favorite, but still an okay one

dune - frank herbert

this is a classic, but it was really good

i dont remember the details, all i really remember was that i had sth for the mc

fr tho its really good, give it a go if long books dont intimidate you

as for books to get into reading again, hmmm

this book is so well written istg

mc is a child, first of all. and i dont mean like a teen i mean shes 8 max, shes a literal child but its okay bc there isnt that much action in this one

the main idea of the book is about how precious time is, but its told through such an interesting way. there are time thieves that steal other people's time to live, making it look like theyre helping people save time on mundane things, and momo stops them (not in an insane way i promise)

the secret garden - frances hodgson burnett

this is a classic, but dont let that fool you this is a really well written book

this one has almost no action in it btw

mc is also a child here (shes maybe 12 at most), she moves into the mansion of her uncle after her family dies where she starts to behave like an actual child instead of some spoiled princess/lh

so one day while going on a stroll in the garden area (?) bc no one is there to take care of her now, she finds a secret garden and decides hey since no one seems to care for this garden, this is mine now

also there are other children that she befriends along the way that help her w the garden

don't feel pressured but may i ask what specifically abt hbomberguy's rwby video you didn't like? i don't care about rwby or anything, i just like knowing what everybody thinks.

oh this is from a while ago. Well. anyways take what i say with a grain of salt because i havent sat down and watched all 3 hours or so of it but from what ive heard it mostly focuses on the first 3 seasons (there are 8 seasons and there is a huge tonal shift after volume 3 that a lot of fans think improved the show) so like. obviously u dont have to watch more of a show if you dont like it no one should force you to but its unfair to judge something based off its ..... VERY rough start. in the video he praises monty oum (creator of rwby who passed during the production of volume 3) and he says he always looked up to him or something close to that but if u actually look at what he was saying about monty oum during the production of the first 3 volumes he like. fucking hated the guy and mocked his work constantly. obviously you dont have to like someones work because theyre dead thatw absurd but he claims his criticism of rwby is unbiased and coming from someone who loved the creator and its just? lies? its just blatantly untrue and i dont CARE that he didnt like monty oum i literally couldnt care less but him using it as some sort of pathos argument that his opinion is correct and comes from a place of love just fucking. grinds my gears.

again i havent watched the video, this is secondhand stuff ive heard (if i do have 3 hours on hand at some point i might hate watch it and ill rb this with my thoughts) but also people who hate rwby BECAUSE they watched his video and think theyre smart for it are the most annoying fucking people and just like. the people who like his video spew off the dumbest takes and it pisses me off so i do partially hate him by association. also i generally disagree with people who criticize the show AND dont like it bc it nearly always comes off as bad faith interpretations and ignoring any progress or improvements the show has made. i myself do criticize the show (and i think all fans should) bc the faunus racism allegory is uh. bad and certain things/comments around characters disabilities shouldve been done better etc etc but a lot of rwby "critics" just like. hate women and love cops LMAO

Conlang Year Week 1

This year I have decided to make a conlang following along with Jessie Peterson’s conlang year. Starting with this post, I’ll be documenting my progress with weekly posts on what Ive done each week.

Day 1

My goal for this project is to build my conlanging skills while making a language Im proud of. Im also trying to be better at sticking to projects

Day 2

As mentioned above, Im making weekly posts about my progress.

Day 3

The speakers of this conlang are a group of anthropomorphic bee-like creatures.

They live in a forested region that is part of a larger world Ive been making for a story.

The speakers are very peaceful and take care of the forest and the other creatures living there. They make a lot of honey and dyes. Like most of the creatures in this world, they are capable of using magic.

Day 4

Their design mostly draws from various anthro bee designs Ive seen online with some more bee like features. Although not entirely realistic I think theyre cute and that’s more important to me.

The speakers are capable of flight. They are around 1-1.5 feet tall. The amount of fluff and stripe patterns both vary between individuals. Many speakers dye the lighter parts of their body, which are usually yellow.

Day 5

The speakers live in a hilly deciduous forest at the base of a volcanic mountain range (most of the volcanoes are inactive). The forest has many lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and springs. Most of the speakers live around the two large lakes.

Day 6

The forest is a temperate deciduous forest with a monthly average temperature ranging from 2-18 degrees Celsius. All 4 seasons are experienced in the forest

Day 7

The forest is mostly made of trees like maples, oaks, lindens, beeches, black cherries, and poplars. There are also blueberries, violets, lilacs, mountain laurels, azaleas, lavenders, hibiscuses, and bee balms. (I spent so long looking up all these plants…)

Couples' Synopsis 🗯: Brett (yes her name is Brett) is a more liberal pop-chic, glamour, outgoing type of woman. Ryan is conservative, country music, outdoorsy, camo hunter, introverted guy. So far up to episode 11, they arent really into each other but they get along okay. You can tell that there isnt much of a spark, yet they still participate in activites. First day of the wedding, they were like oil and water as Brett felt uncomfortable with Ryan's lifestyle and views as she grew up in a more socially relaxed upbringing. Ryan is more quiet and soft spoken so although he peeps things he doesn't say much. Brett leads most of their activities together and although she is aware of their differences she's modest and optimistic about it. They dont argue theyve just sorta accepted how different they are and casually press on. They look more like coworkers that dont talk much. Ryan has gone on to say that he doesnt feel a connection with Brett and so he doesnt put in much effort toward the relationship. I created a poll amongst fans asking if they think Ryan's lack of connection is valid OR should he try more to make it work as Brett does? The results were 55% with 75 participants leaning towards them just not being a good fit. I agree in that regard.

Below is an example I give for basic synastry clients. One thing astrology doesnt account for is having a connection, as 2 people can be completely incompatible yet still crave each other in a love/lust way. Ive also seen couples that had highly compatible charts but they werent interested in each other. However, despite lacking a natural bond, theyre more likely to come to appreciate one another over time due to how naturally smooth things are. When it comes to aspects traditionally I would break down them all, but when first looking at someone's chart in a basic synastry standpoint, I analyze longevity factors first. originally i was gonna make a post about how the cowboy bebop netflix LA show being a trainwreck hadn't made me worried about the one piece netflix LA, because my expectations were so low to begin with, but actually looking into i'll admit im more curious about this then I thought i'd be.

from the source I checked out this is the breakdown of what theyre initially covering in adaptation

this covers the entirety of the east blue arc right up until the begin heading into the grand line, which is a natural point to end a first season like this. and as far as everything else, id say the events look like how you would expect them to fit in, romance dawn being pared down to 1 episode, syrup village having a dedicated episode and im guessing orange town will be the second episode. then the baratie gets 2 and arlong park the emotional climax gets 3 dedicated to it with loguetown to wrap things up in 2 episodes.

as for casting, well im not great with recognizing actors and who plays what, from what i can tell its mostly some lesser known actors they're pulling out here and they are capitalizing on the more ecliptic nature of one piece to throw in some interesting casting choices. though arguably more so based on the skin tones used for the crew in the pre timeskip phase of the anime rather then the nationalities oda notes for them in SSB

chopper: canadian though as hes a talking reindeer voice casting is gonna be a lore more important.

robin: russian so im... definitely interested in seeing which direction they ultimately go with her considering the pre timeskip anime skin tone they give her.

brook: austrian, again an interesting case to see which way they might blow with him cause well he is a skeleton in the setting they're are also a lot of flashbacks involving him that give him skin.

jinbe: indian though considering how far off jinbe even would be in terms of being cast and also hes a whale shark fishman its kinda small potatoes as to whether they'll get there.

I dont know if yall have seen Tom’s vods from mianite, theyre pretty long, but they cover a lot of important info for his character.

Basically; Two friends go onto an island and because they had no option but to pick a god, they were forced to be enemies when the gods were on. Otherwise, they were friends fucking around and having fun. Pranks, etc, nothing too harmful. But based on Jericho’s reactions- he knew Tom wouldnt hurt him unless he was forced by Dianite (in the beginning)

He chases down Jericho, tells Tom to kill him, and when Tom can’t get Jericho to the sacrifice pit, Dianite scolds him but gives him weapons TO kill Jericho. He’s then told to NEVER talk to Jericho again.

You can literally see the struggle when Jericho is cheering that Dianite is gone and he’s like ‘woo! You dont have to kill me now’ and Tom stands there trying to decide whether he answers him. Basically; he does eventually and gets fucked over for it. He loses all of his items, he can’t kill Jericho, he gets his shit taken away (god items that Jericho got by doing... nothing really) and then because of terrible communication- Jericho thinks Tom tried to blow up his house so he blows up Tom’s (who wasnt going to do that) and they get into an argument, which ends in Tom watching Jericho leave with extreme hatred for who was like. His best friend that morning.

Sparklez comes along eventually and things get worse mostly because after Sparklez, Tom gets stuck with players who better embody Dianite and like chaos and death and killing without cause which Tom doesnt want to do. Example, he and the Dianite team are chasing down sparklez and Tom specifically says ‘Don’t kill Sparklez’ probably to maintain his uneasy alliance and friendship with the guy. And when one of them DOES- Tom pulls the guy away and SCOLDS HIM for killing Sparklez and formally apologizes for him.

Its why when they said Tom was an Ianite follower, I really wasnt all that surprised. Tom isn’t “evil” or likes to fuck people over, Tom is just more of a chaotic neutral type. He’s on the less orderly side of balance, but still not entirely good or bad.

Back to the idea; Tom’s been told to not talk to his friends anymore, his items are taken from him when he disobeys, and he’s still punished a lot by Dianite for absolutely nothing (struck by lightning, more often then not). He’s surrounded by people who CHOOSE to be Dianite when Tom didnt really have a choice in the first place.

So FINALLY when he gets to the end of the whole thing jn the first season, Dianite is just berating the fuck out of him and Tom is struggling to deal with his morality, and then he KILLS him. And the powers of Dianite are, supposedly, gone to Tom who is the new ‘dianite’. And everyone expects Tom to fuckin go off and kill everyone, but he doesnt. He’s not more evil or bad or manipulative, he’s actually just giddy and excited and exactly the same as before. Because A) its a lot of power and thats cool but B) because Tom’s finally free! He doesn’t have to do what Dianite says anymore and even with his power, he’s nothing like the old god.

We can also leap further into assumption and say the reason why Dianite and Mot were in such a good healthy loving relationship in Season 2, is because it shows exactly the opposite of what Tom and Dianite s1 were— abusive, unhealthy, destructive.

And if you WANT to include season 3, we could say the reason Tom makes such an evil looking altar for dianite is because he knows if he doesnt make it look badass, the guy will fucking hate him. But he doesnt really care, because when s3 Dianite says he’s into flowers, Tom is like “ok! What flowers? I can get them for you!”. He doesnt even care dude he just wants to make his god happy for once.

TL:DR— Tom made an exceptionally cool underlying story of escaping an abusive partner (who tries to isolate you, hurts you and your friends and calls it help, and actively forces you to do things you CANT actually do) and actually solved it by killing the abuser, and showing that Tom doesnt continue the cycle of abuse. a narrative we dont often see because its ‘looked down upon’ or ‘impossible’ (which its not).

general thoughts: IT LOOKS SO SO NICE! all of my screenshots r really bad quality though because the vid i watched was low quality it looks so nice though like this feels like when u leave a place u love for a while and u come back and all of the nostalgia hits nd ur just really happy to be back. that had nothing to do with the animation quality but it is how i feel to be watching new pripara content. the animation quality itself feels like seeing ur favorite childhood game get a sequel and all ur favorites are there too

YUI FUCKIGN DIED? IN COMA?????? i have a feeling MAYBE this is connected to the whole dreams storyline from idol time somehow because lol when u sleep u dream and yui definitely is. sleeping. kind of worrying how normal nino&michiru look though despite missing their leader?

very excited to see what marios deal is i hope he isnt just like a stereotypical bully character bcs that would suck. i dont think he will be that based on the intro though

overall idol land seems like. darker in plot somehow. it mostly just looks like normal pretty series fare but for a good amount of shots i was like “WOW that seems a lot more grim than pripara usually gets in openings especially”

Spoilers Ahead for the first season of My Next Life As A Villianess <3

Oh where to begin. First of all, when the summary said it was a comedy of misunderstandings, I got scared. I have really bad second hand embarrassment and it’s a very fine line of Dense Misunderstandings For Comedy and A Cringefest of Pain For “Comedy” (even playing an anxiety spiral itself for laughs). But oh! How I was happily surprised! It really goes with the flow and doesn’t rely on ridicule or anything. There’s just Catarina, dense weird wonderful Catarina, and everyone in some fashion accepts her for her. So this is actually pleasant to watch!

Now, Catarina- what a delight. What makes her interesting is she takes Fortune Lover Catarina and humbles her. Takes selfish and mean and spins it 180. If she puts out mean into the world, it comes back at her in the end. She knows she has the potential for a ‘scary face’ and actively chooses not to use it. And her feelings on the matter are not just for survival, theyre genuine too. But what makes this fascinating is her lack of accounting for things *not* in the game. She doesn’t consider, by blazing a new path in the game -where Catarina is nice- that new ‘routes’ form. She focuses on Maria’s pov so much, she doesn’t see her own. She doesn’t see the good she’s put out, cuz she’s supposed to be the antagonist. She’s so focused on the doom flags, she doesn’t realize there *are* no doom flags. There’s nothing for the game to doom, no punishment for cruelty. What’s more, even by taking the place of ‘The Suitors’ in scenes with Maria, she doesn’t consider /any of them/ having feelings for her. (Geordo kisses her neck for crying out loud.) Why? Because Catarina Claes is not a romanceable character in Fortune Lover. There are a lot of paths, but she is not one of them. She has no successful romantic relationship, nor any. Which makes this whole anime downright Fascinating. By taking out the antagonist, there is no doom. By inserting a reborn earnest friendly kind tree-climbing high school girl in her place, there is no Fortune Lover. The fact that she is aware of Fortune Lover makes her almost omnipresent, and putting all her points into Survival and Durability and Craves Sweets and nothing else, makes her human. No high marks, denser than bricks, but damn if she ain’t the prettiest embodiment of a Nokia phone. She’d be an apocalypse survivor. “How did she survive a landslide in a volcano? Idk it’s Catarina.” Oh, and the last scene? The friendship ending? Yeah, she’s not wrong. It is a friendship ending.... for Maria. She ends up with none of the interests and stays good friends with them, no bad blood or nothing. Cuz again, Catarina isn’t a love interest. It just so happens that the entire company present in the area is so fucking in love with her that they say the Line Of Romance to her and, while they may bicker, they do not hold bad feelings for each other. If all of them could be married to Catarina and live in a big ol house together, they’d be so fuckin content. And best part? None of this is condemned. No “ya gotta pick one and only one”. They saw a harem and went ‘ya know? Let’s embrace this’ and now the characters r so chill with their plant growing, tree climbing gf. (I’m sure her mother wishes *something* good could rub off on Catarina lol) You hear that? That’s the sound of a Polyamorous nerd feeling validated. (It’s me, I feel validated by this Polyamorous romcom anime, this is my home now)

My thoughts on the rest of the cast aren’t going to be as long. The anime does a good job of going through each characters thoughts and arcs. And I adored Anne’s POV on things as well, how she is also moved to tears by Catarina’s good heart. Even her mother, who is harsh but only because she cares. (I would have loved to see the look on her mother’s face when she was in the coma, how she would have grieved, what she would have reflected on. Her father is a bit more transparent in emotions, but he would have been great to see too). I also would have loved to see Mary and Maria in the book of desire. I figure Maria would kinda be like Alan, but oh, what would Mary have done? (Guess I need fanfiction to answer that lol.) Keith’s role as a love interest for Catarina is the only least liked thing I have on here. And honestly it’s cuz they keep *calling* them brother and sister. I know they’re not actually siblings, mostly that’s left over from Fortune Lover, and “distant relative” can and is shorthand for a lot of things so like it’s even possible they aren’t related at all. And the characters don’t find it horrible that he loves her, and probably know he’s a Distant Relative so they’re like whatevs. So like, it’s not incest. It’s not even as potently close to incest as anime can get. But it’s the only thing that could be deemed a Flaw about this anime, so it stands out. I do wish the ending couple of eps could have been a little more Maria, and her having a bit more importance in general. Also her light magic having an effect a bit in the ‘fight’ with Sirius. Although I do want to think the green glow of hope was Maria, tho I’m pretty sure the assumption is Acchan.

Which btw can I say was an absolute treat? I suspected something was up with Sirius but I did not suspect that. I wonder what his base magic is, if it isn’t dark magic? I had thought he saved Sophia and Catarina and thus also had wind/light magic. But oh man, when he started lashing out on Catarina cuz he thought she was also faking kindness? That she was purposely saving people? That a part of his resentment of nobles was being projected? That somewhere he also caught Feelings and thus the mage doubled down on his control? That when Catarina looked at Sirius and touched his hand and face, her (Nerd™️) instincts kicked in and pieced everything together and also saw him in such pain and misery? That she holds herself to the antagonist title, that she’s there to ruin and thus can’t *save* anyone, (a bittersweet sentiment) so she’s not intimidated by the burst of dark magic and just honestly wants his friendship and sit with him through his pain? MY HEART! IT SCREAMS! (I love this sort of dynamic yes Ive loved Fruits Basket for years don’t look at me like that).

What else.... the little peppering in the fact that Oh Yeah She’s Dead hit like a truck. The little bit with her family, of her past life? Yeah, ouch. Got me crying. Don’t think to much into that rabbit hole, you’ll get sad. I fucking ADORE the twist of Sophia being Acchan, or at least part of her. Her being so scared of loosing her best friend (and love of her life) again? Yeah, tears man. Catarina accidentally mending the relationships between Geordo and Alan and Maria and her mother was great. Having Mary and Sophia dance with Catarina at her birthday party was a delightful touch, as was not having all the romance novels be m/f, and none of it was a joke or negatively placed- just *there*. I do enjoy the interests butting heads with each other over private time with Catarina. It was mostly Geordo and Keith (“they’re such good friends” girl if they had a tenth of lil Alan’s Fight Me energy you’d have to put them on leashes) but I loved the little bits of Geordo vs Mary and Sophia cheering on Nicol and I reeeeally hope to see more of that. To provoke subtle sass from Alan and Maria would be a great sight, and more of Raphael joining the ranks. I laugh at all the times they mutter “gotta protect her, she’s seduced another one” cuz like, girl ain’t doing shit but running into people that happen to be Moron-sexual, holding their hand and refusing to leave. And they KNOW that. And it’s great. edit: HOW COULD I FORGET HER MAGIC! God I want Catarina to get better at magic. More than just Earth Bumps pls

All in all? I love this anime. 9.5/10. Tis good stuff. And if ya read all my late night/oops it’s 4am ramblings, good on you! I feel bad tagging this cuz it’s long but I’m also on mobile so god knows what this actually looks like but I needed my thoughts down so hey, thanks
