on the topic of flawed characters, there's one that will always shock me at how much hate he got. i'm talking about lars from st/even universe. like yeah, he was a jerk and all, but even from the beginning we saw there was more to him. lars is incredibly insecure and socially anxious and it's implied that he's depressed as well (none of these things excuse his behavior!). and lars was often punished throughout the show, by steven, ronaldo, and even sadie. and yet lars was always seen in the wrong.
lars was probably the MOST hated character in the entirety of su. hell, ppl hated him more than they hated the diamonds or gems like jasper. ppl would legitimately send DEATH THREATS to lars/larsadie fans. i remember that very clearly. i wasn't a big lars fan back then but i already liked him. lars was like the show's equivalent of s/quidward, who's also my fave in s/pongebob.
i related a lot to lars, too. i was a lot like him as a teen. i still am a bit like him - sarcastic, grumpy, insecure yet still very passionate about my interests - but yeah, if you related to lars, you were seen as a horrible person. the fandom only started liking him when lars DIED and became a cool space captain. but as soon as lars relapsed (or when he thought sadie was trying to get back at him for hanging out with the cool kids), ppl were ready to hate on him again.
honestly, even now that lars is liked, i still get ppl leaving their opinions on my lars art ("ugh i HATED lars when i first watched the show but he's cool now"), and i hate that very much. i hate that i'm not allowed to like lars without ppl still hammering in my head how much they hated or still dislike him. i wouldn't comment that on your art of your fave, i would just make my own damn post or just leave my opinion to myself. that's like saying "i hate this ship but cool art".
another important factor to note is that lars is not white. even in like 2015, one of the crew members confirmed that. and later we find out lars is filipino (and it IS confirmed onscreen when lars bakes an ube cake). he is in fact a mentally ill character of color. and that's exactly what makes ppl hate him, besides the fact lars isn't conventionally attractive. bc i know fans would drool over him if that were the case (and especially if he were white). you COULD say lars is the equivalent of spop kyle, both pathetic and skinny boys, except lars is not white, and he's snarky and short-tempered, but it is implied he was bullied or mistreated at some point in his childhood, too.
and of course, there are other actual flawed characters of color who get unfair hate, like katara, korra (though i haven't seen lok), diane from bojack, and glimmer. which angers me when ppl stan catra and they accuse you of being racist or ableist if you criticize her.
you guys. do not. give a fuck. about ACTUAL characters of color. you will just hate them too! fuck off with that performative bullshit.

Can u do a 💎 for each vermillion? Ik their not underrated but I still would want to hear some of ur thoughts.🙃
Tumblr media
NO WORRIES!! I have a "free option" for both events, but I'm happy to ramble something about each of them! But let us file it under the Headcanon Event ^^

🦄 - Free space
In order of age if I'm not mistaken
Mereoleona:
Sometimes I really dislike how people make her into being just an "all anger and violence and bloodlust" when she's a much deeper character than that. And I am thankful for the movie to have showcased that, though it was rushed and but a large fight scene in a lot of other ways. At least it did Mereo justice in showing that she... has a heart.
She is a caring individual, who is a warrior, don't get me wrong, but she has a softer side too. And I think that a lot of her fierce nature comes from wanting to protect, and knowing that she is able to protect, those that are close to her.
She's not a fighter; someone who fights for the sake of a fight. She's a warrior; someone who fights for a cause.
Fuegoleon:
Similarly, I don't care for how sometimes it feels like a portion of the fandom makes Fue out to be... dumb. As in, sure, he's a serious guy who's not always in touch with the times, or the people, but... That doesn't make him stupid. Luckily the circles I'm in currently don't have this issue, but I've seen more than enough takes on how he's but a dumb doormat who'd forgive any wrong done onto him because he's weak like that. And that's partly why I feel like emphasizing that his ability to upkeep peace amongst the captains about the betrayal done onto him took incredible strength of character.
He is smart. He is capable. But he's serious and a bit of a prude (affectionate).
Kirsch:
He's more than "I'm pretty✨". In fact, I think that his need to emphasize his own beauty stems from insecurity. He doesn't feel like he'd ever add up to some standard that he has set for himself. A case of "pretend to be confident until you yourself believe it".
And I'd go as far as to say that it might play into him being the VC of the Peacocks. Maybe he feels overwhelmed by the position, but he still wants to do as good of a job as he can in it.
The man's more than just a pretty face.
Mimosa:
She's the only "not-mainly-attack" mage among the Vermillions, and it must be tough, because she's... a healer in a House full of Battle Mages. And it wouldn't be surprising if she has heard comments about how "poor Mimosa... she's not like the rest of her family". The thought came from this fic by @/wildflowerwoods.
She's not weak for being kind, for being a healer. Hell, a well versed healer is the next thing from a god at a field of battle, because once they run out of mana, they decide who gets to live and who dies.
Leopold:
He's not weak for not finding his learning method or fighting style as young as his siblings did. There are some people who don't learn to study until well into their adult years, and there's no re3why it'd be different with Leo. Even in BC Noelle took time to get control of her magic, and she uses a wand to better direct her spells. Sometimes you just need to find the right tool.
So, Leo isn't just "a precious baby in need of protection", he's a sweet guy with a heart of gold, who's a great warrior in the making. He's just got to figure out the right path, or the way to travel the path, for himself.

I'm finally to a point where im happy with ALL of my animorphs playlists so im making a new pinned post with all of them:
They are all (except one) in the vicinity of an hours length bc i made these to share and i feel like you should be able to listen to any of these in a single sitting, two tops. I feel like you'll be able to tell who's who but I'll provide brief (ish) explanations under the cut just in case you care
While there are six playlists above there is not one for Ax. This is because while Ax appreciates many things about human culture he canonically dislikes music and also I can't even begin to fathom what he would listen to if he did
Meanwhile, Rachel has two playlists. This is because she is my favorite character and I think about her most often. One of her playlists "the original nike girl" breaks my "in the vicinity of an hour" promise but it's also more vibes based than any of the other playlists and the only one that's meant to be listened to on shuffle.
Her other playlist "Dirty Work" is based around my understanding of Rachel's character arc: her death was pointed to in the opening pages of the series and the entire length of the series was an exercise in a whole hecking lot of people (crayak/Drode, Jake, David, Cassie & Marco to an extent, etc) gaslighting her about what kind of person she was so that we could all sit here and say "Oh bUt shE wOUldN't bE aBLe To fUNcTioN WitHOuT tHe wAr" which to be clear is *not more true of her than any of the rest of them*. Yes I will die mad about this.
In Marco's playlist "RUTHLESS" my idea was really to challenge the idea that he coped with the end of the war better than the rest of them. Like, just because his coping mechanisms are higher-functioning than Jake's or Tobias' does not mean he's doing well. The entire series Marco acts like he's fine with the stress of the war and the *whole thing* with his mom but he is pretty clearly never for a single second fine, and personally I don't think that would be any different after the war. And I think I really managed to convey that with the frenetic tempo of this playlist so im really stinking proud of it
Cassie's playlist "to save some lives" has Americana/bluegrass/gospel/folksy vibes and I managed to incorporate a lyrical motif across several songs of going to a body of water and drawing from it until it was dry which convinced me of an interpretation of Cassie's character and role on the team being (what the other animorphs see as) a bottomless resource of justification for their actions which we see when Jake demands she justify creating the auxiliarymorphs in 50 and she finally has to say "okay. Then it's wrong. But we're going to do it anyway" and how that energy might carry her as the only survivor of the war
Jake's playlist "Brother Against Brother" is part of my ongoing campaign to rewrite the beaver book bc CIVIL WAR IMAGERY IS PARTICULARLY SALIENT TO JAKE FOR A FREAKING REASON. Ahem. But I am fixated on how personal and immediate the stakes of the war are for Jake specifically because he literally shares a roof with the enemy.
And finally we come to Tobias' playlist "A Kind of Freedom" which gestures at my understanding of Tobias as someone who wants to be happy at the same time he as he wants to wallow. he wants to sit in his sadness. and he does. And I am not judging him here because I was the exact same way when I was his age (which makes his books very hard to reread now) because he, unlike me, was not afforded the chance to grow up and learn what it felt like not sit in his sadness. Anyways yada yada yada there's a reason he didn't answer when the Ellimist asked him if he was happy.
Anyway, if anyone's read all this, I hope you enjoy these playlists as well!

i just finished binging the dead boy detectives show, and i need to get my thoughts out, warning for spoilers
no spoilers tldr: its rlly good please go watch it i need a season 2.
now, onto the review(??):
it is very VERY different from the comics. this isn't *necessarily* bad, in fact i have no problems with pretty much any changes the show made, i just get antsy about cbms/tv shows changing the source material, bcs that happens all the time (i love the blue beetle movie but i will never forgive it for victoria kord). so here are some changes i liked: i liked the explicit queerness, i liked niko, i liked the fact that there were people in the afterlife actually looking for them, i liked how they wrote tragic mick (i love him so much), and i liked the setting change; some i didn't mind but would hate in the comics: edwin's magic, the whole brains/brawn thing?? (istg if a single one of you decides to portray charles as stupid, i will kill you), crystals personality & dynamic with the boys (she was fine but so drastically different from her comic self i would've preferred her to be an oc tbh), the removal of squooshing, the fact that the dead boys don't take cases from the living, edwin's hell being so much more violent, and the fact that they actually call themselves the dead boy detectives (i could be wrong but i've read all of their solos and i don't think they've ever done this??). the only change i really outright dislike is charles' death. i loved the part where edwin took care of him and read to him, but him being killed by the same bullies who killed edwin in the same place is just so much better than the lake. also, once again, crystal was a fine character, but that is just *not* the crystal palace surname-von hoverkraft i know!! where is her obsession with video games? where is her tech savvy? where are her insane parents?? i hope that one day we get an accurate cartoon adaptation of the toby litt run.
now moving on to the show itself!! i really liked the plot, the fact that it was semi-episodic, the cast of characters and actors was incredible. i just really liked it lol. tbh the literal only part of the show i didn't like is the fact that edwin and charles didn't kiss by the end. like... not even once. i wouldn't mind this if this wasn't a netflix show that wasn't getting much buzz, because i'm 99% sure this show isn't going to be renewed. also it felt kind of... idk, queerbait-y?? like there's obviously queer characters and content, but it feels like i watched this *for* edwin and charles' relationship and then they never got together. i feel like shows do this a lot, where, yes, there's a queer character, but they just aren't allowed to be in a happy relationship and get with the person they love. like idk it just makes me kind of angry, especially since we're probably not getting a season 2. i liked literally everything other than that, but it's just such a big scar on my enjoyment of the show that i can't help but mention it.
i don't really have much else to say other than: i really liked it, go watch it.

oh we're putting your ocs in situations? EXCELLENT. i love them. let's do this
12 for hya (sorry hya ily) and then also 24 for piper! mayhaps :3c
HEWWOOOOO THANK YOU <3
12. Your character has to spend a whole day out in nature. What kind of terrain do they choose to go to, and what do they get up to?
PFFF RIP he really hates being out in... untamed nature. i say this because he doesn't inherently dislike nature, he just prefers if its in a well maintained garden or something like that not just like. out in the woods.
BUT assuming this question pertains to being out in the woods--so in that case, hya is finding somewhere relatively relaxed (ie: a clearing, by a brook/stream/river) and he's parking it. just absolutely doing fuck all. surprising everyone, he may either (1) sunbathe -- if he's by the water or (2) work out. i think he has worked out in secret by going into secluded sections in nature to do so, and while he doesn't Like working out and he doesn't Like being in the woods, it is something to do and so i can see him doing that until he was allowed to leave. but don't tell anyone i told u he works out even tho its obvious that he does LMAO. he likes to appear mysterious and effortless even though its clear he puts in effort. no one just knows when. or how. lmao.
24. Your character has been challenged to a duel by a skilled fighter. What incentive would convince them to accept? How would they prepare for the fight? Do you think they would win? (bonus: which other character do you think the challenger could be?)
welp it wouldn't be hard to convince her because piper NEVER turns down a fight. ever. every fight anyone ever challenges her to, she is absolutely doing it. its not really a 'moral code' or anything, she just likes fighting generally and sees every fight as a way to learn more and improve herself. she wouldn't really prepare for a fight (it is Slight cockiness, but also just because she's someone who just kinda. does stuff on the fly and the best way for her to learn since she's not really a formal per se training girly is to just let whatever happens happen and she'll adapt as shit comes).
whether or not pipes would win is based on an number of factors; she actually has a pretty healthy win lose streak. if its any person who relies more on tactics than brute strength its kind of a toss up because pipes is ABSOLUTELY a "keep beating them until they're a pulp" kind of fighter. so if you're crafty you can MAYBE get her to play into your hand a bit, but if you're just someone who needs time to conjure spells or something then it's the definition of "i won the wizard fight without knowing magic bc i just punched the guy." however if you're quick with magic or just fast in general, it might pose a problem for her. this being bc she wields an axe and tends to do wide, broad, heavy hitting attacks. which: not great if you get hit. but if you can dodge her attacks then you'll probably be able to best her. she isn't slow by any means, she can definitely lead people on by overextending to give them a false sense of security before having her own little "phase 2" of a battle to throw her opponent way off; but that kind of strategy is only something she learned from sparring with saith and keevan. so tl;dr, it can be a fair if challenging fight and tbh whatever experience someone has will determine if they win or lose. pipes is usually a good sport about it, unless you piss her off.
the people piper spars with the most are the aforementioned, keevan and saith; and this is because after she fails her guild exam the first time, she meets the two of them and they literally train her in a LOT of shit for like a year to help her pass the exam the second time (piper was an orphan and literally has no formal training in fucking ANYTHING). usually saith bc he is also keevan's protege, so saith was more the "practice dummy" for keevan's teachings. however, san and piper also fight (not spar. they are always fighting) a lot. and because they have such different fighting styles their battles get veryyyy uhhhhh inchresting lmao.

Headcanons for the neighbors + Laurel? They've been rattling around in my brain recently
THEM
NORMAL HCS
-Eduardo is the saddest bb in the household for obvious reasons
-Was essentially dubbed the leader of their little friend group because he was the only one who was good at compromising.
-While the main four/three were trying to find new thrills in the form of amazing adventures, the other five (Eduardo, Jon, Mark, Todd and Laurel) were living life to the fullest
-Laurel helped Eduardo keep his temper in check
-Eduardo is very bi, I don't make the rules
-CANON GAY MARK CANON GAY MARK CANON GAY MARK CANO
-Jon... I can't pin down what I hc his sexuality to be. I wouldn't be surprised if he's straight, but he also seems like he'd be pan
-Laurel is also bi bc I said so >:3
-Mark is banned from cooking. Still.
-Ghosty Jon does in fact hang out around the house, but is usually invisible and silent
-Mark has taken it upon himself to be Eduardo's caretaker until he's ok again
-Ok so I have so many hcs for Todd bc he's a character who we only see a partial cameo of so my brain filled everything in for me so here we go
-Todd has floofy brown hair that's similar in color to Tord's, glasses, shit tons of band tees and a very big dislike for confrontation
-He's absolute BESTIES with Jon
-He's also Swedish bc yes
-Sweet bb, always helps when he can
-He went to pursue a college education shortly after PowerEdd so he could find a career, but he emails his friends fairly often
-He also doesn't know Jon's dead, he only knows Mark has been the only one responding to his emails lately and he's very worried
-Also, yes, in case you were wondering, I do interpret Laurel's death as canon as we never see her again. Meaning Saduardo being sad bc no gf
-Eduardo has a tendency to pushed loved ones away after losing Laurel, fearing loving them is putting them in danger
-While the bois were watching shoe get married, Laurel's funeral was being held
-Laurel ended up having bought him a cute little necklace for Christmas and his friends gave it to him. He always has it on under his shirt
-Before her untimely demise, Laurel was a very bubbly and kind soul
-Her and Eduardo met on a dating app and it was love at first sight
-Eduardo was very shy at first and Laurel thought it was the cutest thing ever
-But he got more confident with her help
-She was very fast friends with Mark, Jon and Todd
-Eduardo and Mark secretly called Laurel, Jon and Todd the 'Bubbly Trio'
-Jon has been learning Spanish with Eduardo's help so they could have secret convos
-Well all know the hc that Mark is a bookworm. Yes it applies here
-Mark is a very smart boi, often asked many questions
-Mark is also a very kind boi, will do anything in his power to make sure his friends are happy and safe
-Jon is very bad at reading social cues
TICKLE HCS (here we go)
-In order from most lee to most ler: Jon, Eduardo, Todd, Mark, Laurel
-In order from most ticklish to least: Eduardo, Jon, Todd, Laurel, Mark
-Yes, the neighbors share worst spots with their next-door counterparts (Laurel's is her sides)
-Eduardo finds his ticklishness very embarrassing and only his friends know
-Jon's perfectly ok with it and didn't mind telling people he was ticklish
-Mark could go either way about it, but if asked directly he kinda panics
-Todd will ball up, not even joking
-Laurel would've just tickled you first lol
-Eduardo's a loud, cussy, squirmy boi when tkled, but does enjoy it
-Jon's a sweet giggler, he'd just scrunch up and try to stim it away
-Mark tries not to react at first but he can get pretty loud if you get him good >:3
-Todd will just tighten his ball formation and try to hide himself and his laughter
-Should Laurel get got, she'd fight back bc she was just a generally playful person who loved a good tickle fight
-Todd snorts. It's been said, I said it
-Yk how Jon's prone to voice cracks? That, but laughter makes it worse, to the point where he sounds like a giggly mouse
-Eduardo and Laurel had shit tons of tickle fights
-Actually all of them do, tho as of late they've become extremely rare due to Eduardo being a Saduardo
-Eduardo would always be a cocky boi in the beginning, claiming he'd win
-And everyone else would just silently agree to tag-team him until he gave in
-Also Mark would often get got just so they could hear him laugh
-And also Jon bc... well he's adorable
-Laurel usually does most of the tickling, and it's usually sneaki
-Yes she's made Eduardo squeal on more than one occasion, yes she called it the cutest thing ever, yes he turned into a tomato
-Snuggle piles after tickle fights quickly became mandatory since absolutely none of them didn't enjoy some nice affection
This is all I can think of now, hope you liked!

You may already be aware, but I actually found ppl going back and forth on Reddit about a post you'd made on here (re Viserys being a shite parent). It's under r/HouseOfTheDragon in case you ever wanted to check it out. I just recognized your name, as I follow you and it was shared as a screenshot from here.
lmao i will never get over how wild reposting on the internet actually is. that fucker has over a thousand comments and i had no idea until you told me just now! literally made a reddit account to try to add my voice to the din just to encourage people to discuss on the original platform so i can see but tbh people on reddit are a lot meaner than tumblr so i won't be mad if it doesn't get too many upvotes.
reddit's responses to this post is such an interesting case study in the polarization that's happening everywhere online. i get SO MANY accusations of being wildly biased from supporters of both "teams" all the time and it's funny because like am i too team green or too team black bc i can't be both right? mostly i think it's because people get really defensive when you criticize a character and assume it means you hate them. like bruh we are adults with big girl emotions can't it be a little more complex than that?
when i say i think viserys is a bad parent, i'm not saying it as team green propaganda. i've said before that rhaenyra is the rightful ruler and that i absolutely adore her as a character (let's just say aemond isn't my only babygirl). there's a reason i've written 100k+ words of fanfic designing a political scenario where she'll be able to happily rule without any of her children dying. spoiler alert: it's not because i hate her and think she's a bad ruler. and she's far from the only character on team black i love: daemon, jacaerys, lucerys, and baela all come to mind.
it's also really interesting to me that people see my opinion about viserys and, even though i literally did not mention rhaenyra, assume that i'm somehow shitting on her. it just goes to show how much they stand blindly by one team or another. that to criticize one member of their "team" feels to them like you're criticizing every member. like baby, i'm not the one making it about teams: you are! honestly, i understand why the team mentality was a good marketing move, but it really has been the death of critical thinking in this fandom. there are aspects of both that we're meant to root for, just as there are aspects of both we're meant to hate. none of these people are objectively morally good, and that's what makes it interesting, so why are we trying to pretend otherwise?
so while yes, i don't like viserys, why would i extend that dislike to rhaenyra? it's not like she forced him at gunpoint to do the things i'm criticizing him for lol. in fact, i think viserys did her just as dirty most of the time. i have another post in the works about this, but he neglected her for her entire childhood, groomed her best friend and dealt with telling her in the worst possible way, and made her heir in a bid for her affection yet did none of the actual work to honor her as a ruler. he could have made her his hand but instead he made her pour his wine?
now, again, just because we dislike part of something does not mean it's all bad. do i think viserys is generally quite a bad parent and person? absolutely. did i also cry ugly tears in the scene where he forces himself up from his literal deathbed to defend his daughter? yes. these two things can coexist.
also, because reddit is reddit, there are a bunch of comments that just miss my point about alicent and aemma entirely. i've already responded to those in a post here so i won't beat a dead horse too much. but to paraphrase: viserys married alicent because he liked her specifically not for duty or he would've married someone who wouldn't horrify the entire small council; and aemma didn't need to be alive and conscious for the pain she was put through at the end of her life. the things he did to his wives weren't necessary and i don't think we should be pretending they were.
lastly, it's really funny to me how many people incorrectly assumed i was a man in the comments. i'm genuinely the girliest girl to ever girl in real life (makeup jewelry and tits to the gods, sorority girly, the whole nine yards, i love it) and it gave me such whiplash. there's a joke to be made here about trying to weaponize male privilege somewhere.

Have any thoughts about the locked tomb lately?
oh, so many. always. all day long. here's a few highlights:
perfect lyctorhood is literally mutual death.
scary alecto rights AND wrongs.
people need to make john gaius more cringe.
for some reason, it took me this long to figure out "niner" names are literally just variations of the number nine. that's why they all start with the letter n. same with the other house last names.
i love camilla with all of my sapphic being.
would john gaius be a homestuck. homestucks please let me know as i am not one myself
highly dislike people who project toxic masculinity onto john. he is literally an allegory for why and how you don't have to be Bad in order to be bad. he is a case study of a soft, sentimental progressive, who got too fucking powerful and caused a mass extinction event.
also highly dislike people who think the name 'kiriona gaia' was forced onto gideon. she literally makes zero indication that she doesn't like the name. it connects her with an entirely different culture than her niner name. let the girl have her character arc.
alright, i've also had a LOT of thoughts about the harrow nova role reversal au, except john and alecto's roles are reversed, but i already wrote them all down, so here's a copy-and-paste version of that:
- john with the orange/yellow eyes. alecto with the nuclear fallout eyes.
- mercymorn and augustine absolutely terrified of alecto.
- ninth house shadow cult worships john's body instead of alecto's.
- nigenad poetry about him? possibly?
- since this is still the harrow nova universe, RD!gideon would've been the one who broke into the tomb as a child.
- she broke into the tomb and found john and was like "this is the mf we've been tomb-keeping the whole time? he is literally just a guy."
- she was not impressed.
- but nobody would ever believe her if she told them.
- oh, also, the wake thing still happened, so gideon, unknowingly, found his father's body. maybe if his eyes were open she would've realized it, but alas.
- 10 000 is a long time. plenty enough for alecto to establish an entirely different nine houses.
- she would style it after the earth!! bc she literally is the earth, and she misses the system that had been!!
- alecto's personality and demeanor fit the role of god way better than john's, tbh.
- like. she speaks biblically. he speaks tumblr references.
- at the end of ntn, he would walk out of that tomb like "oops looks like my alarm didn't go off again lol"
- the story of a planet and a human. where the planet traps the human in a sleep for 10 000 years. she keeps him alive because she loves him, but he can't keep existing freely because of his powers.
- tbh. i have an intrinsic need to objectify john gaius
- he is so so pretty and inside a glass coffin for forever. ideal man. /j
- he would not stab alecto!!! he wouldn't. he would try and he would fall to his knees dramatically and start sobbing "i missed you so much, i missed you so much, why did you leave me? i've been so cold, so cold and dead and alone for all these centuries." and THEN he would kill her. or at least attempt to. even in canon universe, it's made clear she's stronger than him.
- scary alecto rights AND wrongs. she kills!!!! and not out of fear like jod, just out of anger. very sexy of her tbh.

Tbh I just love how Deep In The Shit Draxum and Galois are at this point with whatever the outcome of all of this is. I think, in a lot of stories where a main character is brainwashed and joins the bad guys, they always pull their punches in how long it lasts and what they do while they've switched sides. But here, not only has Draxum gotten Donnie/Galois to do some Heinous Shit (not only to his family once he figures all that shit out, but like. Yknow. War) but also??? The genuine emotional bond.
Like. In terms of long term damage and pain, the genuine care and rapport Draxum and Galois have is probably my favorite* part of DOTH because how do you 1) resolve the idea of someone who you think loves and cares about you and you have more in common with than almost anybody doing THAT to you and 2) how do you process that part of your life where things were undeniably good (and in some ways better) with the fact that it only came from pain and led you to do horrible things?? Every single twist in this story has me on the edge of my emotional seat Donnie is going to have psychological issues beyond comprehension when this is all done
*this is technically a lie because my real favorite thing about DOTH is your fantastic hidden city worldbuilding. Its become canon to me and also I could hear about how yokai society works forever. You really make it feel real in a way that really makes the story click. I also lump Draxums family under here bc they are legit fantastic break Bella out of jail so i may propose marriage
I very much dislike it when authors so clearly try to keep their precious darlings from doing anything problematic. Especially when they're trying to portray them as being morally grey or in the wrong, or even just showing poor judgement.
Katniss kills a civilian woman without hesitation to protect her squad. Zuko burns down Kyoshi village searching for the Avatar. Daenerys throws an entire region into chaos in her noble but naïve attempt to wipe out slavery. These are all characters we're supposed to like, that we generally do still like in spite of their problematic actions. (unless you're a Dany hater, in which case get off my blog and learn some reading comprehension) Their misdeeds give them depth, places to improve themselves and mature. That's what characters should be doing. If your protagonist keeps their hands clean the entire time, not only do they end up passive observers in their own story but it gives them no opportunity for growth. Daenerys learning from her ignorance and sculpting herself into a better ruler is not only a major component of her own story, but it's what sets her apart from the five kings. Avatar wouldn't be half of what it is without Zuko's redemption arc. And Katniss had to be that merciless, fatalistic Mockingjay to kill Coin-and killing Coin changes the meaning of the entire story.
The fucking world-building. I just watched a video today on world-building tips, and the guy doing the video essay used a Rubic's Cube as a metaphor for putting together all the different parts that make up a living, interesting fictional world and making them work together, with the disclaimer of DO NOT BUILD YOUR ENTIRE GODDAMN WORLD IN FULL DETAIL FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE YOU WILL DIE. And I felt that on an emotional level. I've been re-reading ASOIAF lately, and I'm starting to develop more sympathy for Germ taking 'checks notes' twelve years so far to write the next book. I think he's legit weighed down by Worldbuilder's Disease and now the story is too big for him to hold up. I very much enjoy the world-building, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't. But oh my god it is a well with no bottom and I am pressing my feet and shoulders against the side trying not to fall.

HELLO I LOVE HERALD and I'm here to add my two bits on why romance with him could work!
Okay first, I chose the anarchist route for my Sidestep but even so, Step would have agreed to train him either way. That's bc I made Step into a sort of "reluctant villain." That is to say, Step never was and never wanted to be one of the bad guys. Her days as a hero are her happy days, the days that defined who she is as a character, her core values. Even when she's a villain, she's not really -- she believes this is the only way to win back some kind of life, but the truth is, she just... wants to be happy. Have a good life. That's all. And being a villain is, to her, the only option. (I'm trying to sum her and saying all this bc the other anon said all versions of Step wouldn't work for this, and I kindly disagree uwu)
Enter Herald. Yes he's essentially her replacement, the person with the seemingly perfect life, perfect face, everyone loves him - he is everything Step wished she could ever be. So it's normal for her to dislike him. But bc, in my Step's situation, she's got too much of a big heart not to take pity on him, she agrees to train him. He needs the training anyway and it's painfully obvious.
After the life of pain and abuse Step had to endure, I think Herald would feel like... a breath of fresh air. He doesn't come with the baggage of shared history like Ortega, he's new, and so easy to read that Step doesn't event have to use her telepathy. He's gentle with her the way nobody else has been, and lord knows Step needs some gentleness in her life! think, at first, it would be kind of an escapism for Step -- why can't she enjoy this? A guy who is head over heels for her from the get go? Being with Herald would be easy, and is that such a bad thing? Yeah, at first it wouldn't be 100% genuine on Step's end - she's just choosing to delude herself. But in the end, especially after spending more time together and learning more about him, I think the feelings would be real. One's love doesn't have to be complicated to be true. And that would be the case with Herald :')
(Also I never picked any of the "oh no, he's hot" options, and Herald as a RO works fine without em as well. So Step having feels for him doesn't stem from him being attractive. )
that's a totally valid way to play sidestep, especially one that is romancing herald. i cant relate though, since i was going with options i dont normally pick on my heraldmance playthrough which meant i went full villlain mode and killed as often as i could. gives a very different flavour to the heraldmance that i absolutely recommend.
"After the life of pain and abuse Step had to endure, I think Herald would feel like… a breath of fresh air. He doesn't come with the baggage of shared history like Ortega, he's new, and so easy to read[...]"
"He's gentle with her the way nobody else has been, and lord knows Step needs some gentleness in her life! think, at first, it would be kind of an escapism for Step -- why can't she enjoy this? A guy who is head over heels for her from the get go? Being with Herald would be easy, and is that such a bad thing?"
"Yeah, at first it wouldn't be 100% genuine on Step's end - she's just choosing to delude herself. But in the end, especially after spending more time together and learning more about him, I think the feelings would be real."
sorry i dont really have anything more to add to this, i just wanted to highlight where i think you really hit the sidestep/herald dynamic on its head. like these are absolutely The Reasons to pursue herald as a romance option.
(i've not tried romancing herald where "oh no he's hot" is what initiates it, so imo avoiding those choices and still ending up romancing him is, to me, The Way to romance him)

The way you write Ingo and Akari's interactions with each other never fails to warm my heart. And after seeing how he is with Rei in oop, I'm so excited to see how Emmet interacts with Akari. And let's not forget how your Cyllene is with Rei, and how she considers him Her Boy. I just love the intergenerational relationships you have going on. Kids deserve to have good adults in their lives, especially ones like Akari and Rei who have had it so rough.
There are... a lot of things I don't like about many interpretations of Emmet in fandom, but one I especially dislike is when he's overly rude or dismissive towards the kids. You avoid that trap neatly, though that's no surprise because the way you write him is one of my all time favorites. That's maybe a bit beside the point though.
In any case, I loved the little prompt snippets you wrote yesterday about Ingo with both Akari and Rei. The one you wrote with Rei was both cool and heartbreaking with how his dedication and care was the only thing keeping him going, all so Rei might have the chance to live. And the one Akari was so sweet and heartwarming, with how gentle his love for her was. She doesn't know it, but Ingo's home isn't a place, like her it's the people he cares about, and she's included in that too now. In this au where he's so close to her, it wouldn't be complete without her there.
WAAAAH THIS IS SUCH A NICE ASK?? THANK YOU?? thank you so much... i'm gonna cry this is so sweet. thank youuuu... i uh rambled a lot about characters and relationships so i'm going to put the rest of that under. a cut i think. contd:
anyway. YEAH re: kids deserving Good Adults. tbh whenever i see a kid on their own in fiction it activates some kind of primal pack bonding instinct in me to protect them, so this is like, vicarious parenting. and i just REALLY like characters who are Good With Kids, it's like one of my fav character traits that makes me instantly love them. and i love all the different ways that can come through, like, like you said, cyllene who isn't so great at saying how she feels but has SO adopted these two. so. yes. this is primarily self indulgent. it all comes back to my love of picking apart character motivations lol
also WHO is making emmet not nice to kids. i'll fight them. i'll duel them in the street right now. why is everyone else so WRONG about my BLORBO. i think- not to Also get sidetracked, lol, but- i think emmet is someone who's extremely straightforward with everything he says, and doesn't back down, but the critical thing is that all that blunt directness and stubbornness is backed by an intense motivation to help and protect others. so that's what i'm trying to channel when he's with rei or anyone else—specifically because he doesn't try to hedge his words or anything, it is so obvious at all times that he Cares and wants to Help. which can be like, intensely validating/reassuring/trust-building. like short and direct and not good at subtlety don't have to be negative asshole-building character traits!! ...but uhh anyway what were we talking about again
ingo ficlets right. YEAHH THANK YOU... i think in comparison to emmet ingo is like. actually good with people, in the sense that he can read peoples' emotions from their words and actions much better, and is very understanding and patient. and obviously he's also driven by that same compassion. trying really hard not to just make this about comparing how i characterize them both ANYWAY. and i am giving him the Parenting Instincts, lol, which, i think he has an immediate reaction of "oh i need to help you" when he sees anyone who's lost/hurt/confused, but it's stronger with kids bc they obviously tend to have less ability to support themselves. so with akari in the adoption fic i keep gesturing towards and Not Finishing, and rei in the ficlet who got separated from his usual crew, he just adopts them very quickly lol. (there's also something to be said there for how i usually write amnesiac-ingo as having a kind of busted self-perception, as we've covered, so he's outsourcing his motivation and desire to continue living to others, which is sort of a Not Great aspect of this, but uhh that's getting sidetracked again)
anyway YEAH!! his home is his loved ones!! yessss exactly!! you have it spot on, i think in that snippet after akari brings it up he does have that thought of, all he has to judge his "home" by is a vague vibe that it was good and he misses it. what if it isn't as perfect as his non-memory thinks it is? what if it can't/won't make space for akari? in which case i think that despite how much he misses it, he would be fully prepared to walk out of it for her. because like you said, his home isn't a place, it's the people!! so if akari can't belong there, then it isn't his home, either. (not that it would ever come to that in reality)
so. yes. as you can probably tell i could go on about this subject forever. just adhd tangent after tangent about kids, and the ways they get treated, and what it says about characters, and character motivations in general, and bitching about how my blorbo gets misinterpreted. but. my point is. this was a very nice ask i am going to print it out and tape it in my diary thank you

What do you think will be the final couples of black clover?
Ooo hmmm 🤔 Before I go into the actual answer, I will be including notes from the manga, so if you're not up to date with BC manga, and don't want spoilers, this is the head up
So, while keeping in mind that we're only at chapter 353, and there's at least a good 100 chapters to go, a lot can still happen, which will change opinions to one way or another, but overall I don't think we'll see a lot of "end game" couples confirmed (because ultimately the focus of BC isn't in romantic relations, rather than in friendship and found family thematics).
Let's start with an easy one:
YamiChar - I do think that this will be end game, even if Yami was surprised to learn that Charlotte fancies him, since he had been under the impression that she acted "strangely" around him, or her ki did at least, because she hated or disliked him more than most men. This notion alone, however, doesn't mean that he wouldn't like her back. It could be just that he was caught off guard and has now discovered that his feelings are reciprocated. Which is something that to many would be surprising, I dare to claim. This ship is also very directly insinuated by the series, so I do think that it'll end up being end game. And I do think that Yami and Charlotte would compliment each other as characters, since they're both "loners" in a sense. They've both needed to grow strong on their own, and they both have had it rough while growing up, although Yami does take the cake in that one. Charlotte being cursed doesn't compare to what Yami has been through, but still, they are still able to relate to one and another, and they have respect for each others' talent.
Astelle - Though Asta's headspace isn't in relationships or romance as of now, I do think that this will be endgame as well. There has been a lot of interactions between Noelle and Asta that showcase their common journey, and how they are able to lean to each other. Though Noelle has been gaining more confidence from Asta, than Asta from Noelle, I think, but in any case, I wouldn't say that Asta wouldn't value Noelle's presence and his relationship (in the broader sense of the word) with her. And if we compare Asta's interactions to all other "potential love interests" (I use this vaguely), it seems like all the others have developed a crush on Asta because he's a good guy, which he absolutely is, but Noelle and Asta have been there for each other through thick and thin. Which I think connects them well. As said, only Noelle is more vocal about her emotions thus far, but I do think that Astelle will end up being end game with how strongly that relationship is being built as well. (Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if in the later chapters Noelle ends up saving Asta, like he has done for her in the past, and he ends up saying something like "when we're side by side nothing can stop us!" Which ends up setting them down the path more concretely.)
Greyche - Again, they've been shown to have a lot of positive interactions, and bonding over the course of the series. Grey is gaining self-confidence, and Gauche is growing to feel loved and appreciated; he has found a place in which he belongs. That and they have shared history, in a way, due to that one interaction, and I do think that the reason why that was specifically put into Grey's backstory, is to give more footing for the romantic relationship for the two. I don't have many ships for BC, but I honestly can't see these two with anyone else than each other.
Finral/Finesse - I mean, this is more of an arranged marriage type of a deal, but Finral wants to grow into a loyal spouse for Finesse, and she does care for him, so I do think that it will end up being end game, even if the relationship itself isn't as well fleshed out in canon as it perhaps ought to be, but we can't have it all, I suppose. But in any case, I do think that it'll end up being end game, because they are striving to be together, granted that Finral is doing more of the striving, and Finesse is more or less promising to wait for him. That and Langris seems to be, for reasons best known to himself, rooting for the two to wind up together. I don't have that strong of an opinion about this ship, or reasons as to why the dynamics would make sense, but I do think that it'll end up being The Ship for these two (plus it's being built up by canon, so it would make sense for it to happen).
Charmill - Okay, this could go either way, really, so it's a *maybe* option. And it will greatly depend on how Charmy will continue to see Rill, since she was angry at him for wasting food during the elf arc (granted that it was the elf soul in Rill, rather than Rill himself). And aside of that one interaction, we haven't seen them interact a lot after that, so it's really about how, and if, they discover each other in the future. Because Rill saw Charmy's human form, and Charmy saw Rill's "elf form". It really could be either way, but I would be more inclined to say that these two will end up becoming a ship.
Meresuga - Another *maybe* option, since we haven't actually gotten to see these two interact, but I do think that if someone could pass Mereo's criteria of being able to go head to head with her in a mortal battle, it'd be Yosuga (and he might actually like the brawl, instead of running away screaming like the rest of the Kingdoms). He wouldn't water down her strength, but instead would throw gasoline into the open flame, I think. I think Mereo would find him interesting at least, perhaps not romantically interesting, but ... interesting.
I think that's the ships that I could see being end game (more thoughts in the notes)
Thank you for the ask!

For some reason I'm in a sylvie/sylki hate mood today. And because I know you also dont like her, would you like to talk about how your ocs would interact with her if they existed in the same story as her? For some reason they (or variants of them) end up in the Loki show plotline, Sylvie crashes into their story for some reason, any situation that would force them to interact. (Geneva and Dea bc you said they would hate her, or any oc you want to talk about)
Sylvie/Sylki hate mood ALL THE TIME OVER HERE
Geneva and Dea are ready to MURDER HER AT FIRST SIGHT (well, at first sight of how she manipulates Loki). Doesn't even have to be either of their Lokis in particular, it could be literally any Loki.
(Also Cassia's parent Loki is genderfluid and soooo confused at the surprise surrounding there's a female Loki variant!)
In the crossover idea where Cassia and Haley (from Blue Fire) are classmates and romantic partners, Haley also very much dislikes Sylvie, though that hatred is outweighed by her hatred for the TVA.
Then there's a short-lived Loki-series-inspired plot for Cassia, with the idea that she was brought into the TVA and enlisted to help them much like Loki in the show. Unfortunately when the show plot went off the rails I didn't think it was worth it to think up a whole new plot so this idea doesn't go anywhere, but I do know that Cassia just about outright refuses to believe that Sylvie is a Loki, bc Cassia has seen her father as her mother and Lady Loki in that story looks nothing like Sylvie. Aka "WHY ARE YOU RANDOMLY BLONDE -"
This has nothing to do with a different Loki-series-inspired plot in which @thetimelordbatgirl's character Frigga II is brought in to the TVA to pursue a Loki Variant who turns out to be an adult Cassia. In that case, Cassia is the Sylvie role and much better-written.
I actually have a half-baked plot idea where Lily encounters a Sylvie, but in this idea Sylvie isn't a Loki Variant, she's a grown-up Variant of Cora, daughter of Loki and Dea. Given that Cora's a baby at the current time in Lily's stories (youngest of the family, if you can believe it) it's certainly a shock to find an adult Cora named Sylvie. In this version, Lily, Goddess of Chaos, is perfectly happy to join Sylvie in her quest against the TVA.
And even though I know the animated Disney Channel Marvel TV shows take place in a totally different universe than live-action MCU, I know that Lexi, Lore, and Anabel would despise Sylvie. (Also their mother Elizabeth would be in "Team Stab Sylvie" alongside Geneva and Dea lmao.)
Sylvie wouldn't stand a chance against Lia. That's if she even met Lia, bc none of the TVA would stand a chance against Lia either, so Lia wouldn't even get to the point to meet Sylvie.
Rose and Carly can be summed up with the same emotion: apathy initially which turns into fierce dislike when they see the way Sylvie is too ready to just kill any TVA people despite knowing they're all brainwashed Variants.
And that's the summary of most of my superhero or superhero-adjacent OCs meeting Sylvie. She's not well-liked by any of them.
Thanks for the ask!

I agree with you on that nasty anon being, most likely, a toxic Aemond stan posing as team black but I think it needs to be said that there are some nasty black stans out there who hate Aemond with a passion and who, by extension, also take it out on Helaemond and Helaena specifically, calling her names, bland and how she and the ship are only a self-insert for us plus countless other stupid arguments. I've also seen on some of their blogs the same Daeron discourse anon was spewing as well as the GRRM being involved with S2 writing thing as proof that Aemond will finally be portrayed as his book counterpart which further means that Helaemond will never be a thing. Maybe, maybe not, in any case most helaemonds know the ship in just a show only thing that may very well not happen if the writers choose so. Either way I hope that person, whoever they are, gets a life and stops harassing other people online. I also hope you're okay considering the amount of hate you've been constantly getting on this blog, please don't let the haters succeed into bullying you off this platform.
oh yeah, aemond and helaena definitely also get hate from team black stans, that much i know, and especially since i spend a bit of time on twitter too
however most of the hate i've seen from team black stans when it comes to helaena and aemond is aimed separately, rather than necessarily at helaemond itself. for example, some say helaena is bland, boring and definitely did not deserve to get dreamfyre and then not use her. there's a lot of grief about her claiming rhaena's dragon. aemond is usually insulted and interpreted as some "cheap version of daemon" and how he's actually just a loser, etc.
but this hate is usually character centric from what i saw and there's plenty of team black stans who don't care that much about aemond or helaena, but they don't hate them either, and by virtue of being team black, they're also more relaxed about the incest side of the targaryens, so there's many who actually did pick up on all the helaemond hints and wouldn't mind it
however i don't doubt that there's probably black stans who hate helaemond as a ship as well
my conclusion of this being a green aemond stan is specifically based on me having knowledge of how i post my posts and tag my posts, who follows me, etc. and certainly most helaemond vitrol actually comes from fellow greenies. and, sadly, for some time now, i've noticed some lowkey helaena hate too. i say lowkey because well, as a team black stan, not caring / disliking helaena wouldn't be a huge shock, but a greenie? disliking helaena of all characters? mostly if not surely over ships? that would be hard to justify
honestly so sick of grrm discussion.... both team black stans and some green anti helaemonds use grrm's "comeback" (he was always there, but okay) as some sure fix for all of their grievences with the plot. some say it means the end of helaemond, others say it means the end of rhaenicent, others say he will make everyone like in the book. it is tiring, especially since it's being used as a "gotcha" against people having different opinions or expecting other things based on what they've seen so far
but thank you for thinking of me. i do appreciate all the kind words i get. once i started reblogging or posting about helaemond more, not only did i lose a bunch of followers (which is fine bc i do believe in curating your experience), but i also got quite a bit of hate and it's been.... a journey. i would like to say that things might get better but i think it's just gonna get worse until people realize that you shouldn't take out your frustration over fictional characters onto other people (send anon hate).
why do people care about who i ship or what my opinion is on a given character? i'm just some girl, i don't have grrm or ryan on speed dial
but anyway thanks for your message ❤️

So I have SO MUCH second hand embarrassment and anxiety over people commenting to the new show runner. Like walrus was one thing bc he was so ugh, but cmon people! 🫠
Like for one, it’s crazy what people say to him on his Instagram. People have no shame. Leave the man alone, especially when the comments are negative in nature.
Secondly, I wish the comments would just stop, mostly the negative ones as mentioned, bc just like m, he will pull away from the fandom OR start responding in a negative way. Also, could the fandom cause some negative consequences? 🤷🏻‍♀️
People are also veryyyy flip floppy. (I.e. the news about kelli today) Unless you are a diehard rollisi, there is no room to complain. No one should be taking this out on the new show runner when he doesn’t make those decisions? Esp when everyone was all over him until recently and praising him.
We all wanted eo, and if rumors are true and this is the way to get that, im personally ok with it? The way I’m looking at it is there have been SO MANY arrivals and departures over the years of cast members and characters and this would just be the latest one. Although Amanda has been there for 12 years, that is usually the exception and not the rule.
Wasn’t it canon that the average to be in svu was like 2-4 years bc of the nature of the job? It makes sense for her to want to see her girls grow up and have a more steady work/life balance and get out of svu (major speculation on my part here). Bring in some new blood, characters, diversity, story lines, etc.
Although disclaimer: I am indifferent to the Amanda Rollins character. I do not love her nor dislike her. I would for sure feel different if it was someone I had more of an attachment to, admittedly 😂
I know you stay out of the drama, but I just needed to vent. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk lol.
Congrats to you anon for being the one to break the kelli news to me, literally got this message and had to be like "hang on babe lemme check twitter real quick" so thank you for that. lemme try to hit this in order.
yeah first up i'm not gonna tell anyone else what to do but engaging with the showrunner directly is never gonna be something i wanna do. i firmly believe that fandom and creators are happiest when we stay in our respective corners but. again. that's just me and what i prefer and what i would do. i don't check david's insta so i don't see what people post there, except for what gets reposted other places.
i wouldn't worry about the fandom causing negative consequences. like. these people have a job to do. they get some negative comments, they get lots of positive ones, they go to work, they do their job. fandom sometimes overestimates its own impact; no amount of comments on insta is gonna change the plan for tptb. if that was the case they'd have thrown out eo bc of the people on fb. for good or bad, they're gonna do what they're gonna do.
i agree no one should take this out on mr david as it obviously wasn't his call, and the responses of his that i have seen have been graceful. i understand that people are upset - were we not all devastated when chris left the show? - but like, that upset needs to be directed at the people who are responsible.
i don't see any connection between kelli leaving and eo. i have a hard time imagining they were sitting around going "we can't do eo unless we get rid of a cast member." that just doesn't make sense. yes losing a long time cast member frees up some $$ but they are bringing in new people and i promise they are gonna find ways to spend what's left of that money that aren't solely eo. the math isn't mathing. and the only people i've seen make that particular connection aren't making the most reasoned arguments in general.
they try to say early on that most people only last two years in svu which is laughable now considering how long most of the cast has been there. i do think they need some fresh blood - still salty about losing kat, tbh - if only bc these characters have been there for so long and new perspectives are necessary from time to time. 1.0 didn't shake up the cast too much after s2 but they had new adas all the time and that kind of helped keep things fresh,
i'm not sure what i want rollins's reasons for leaving to be. i don't really see her wanting to leave svu, tbh, i think it would have made more sense for carisi to go work with a different branch and amanda stay on in svu to avoid the conflict of interest but obvi that's not what they're doing. i'm wondering how much of carisi we're going to continue to see after kelli's exit and if they will use carisi to keep amanda alive and fresh for us even when she's not there.
idk anon it's a lot

Hi! So after seeing all the Neymar discourse on your blog, I wanna ask this: how can you cancel a celebrity completely, and stop consuming their content, if you like their content in the first place? I'm not being snappy or sarcastic, I'm just curious bc that's what I struggle with whenever a celebrity whose work I like and admire lands in hot water over something. I believe in the policy of separating the art from the artist. One of the most recent times I thought about this was during J. K Rowling's transphobia controversy. I certainly do not support transphobia in any way or form. But I don't want to, and I will not stop reading Harry Potter because its author did something shitty. I enjoy the plot, I enjoy the characters, I enjoy the book's worldbuilding so why should I not read something I enjoy? Just because the author has expressed a problematic opinion? I don't agree with her opinion, but I'm not going to show my support for trans rights by boycotting or cancelling Harry Potter. I can show my support in other ways, by participating in rallies, or writing blogs online. The same applies for sports. Neymar has done many things I don't agree with, in his personal life, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy and admire his skills as a footballer. Similarly, I loathe Benzema as a person. If I met him ril, I'd slap him across the face. But I've also been a Madridista since 2007. What do you want me to do, Stop supporting a club I supported since I was 6 just because a guy I don't like is playing for them? Why should I give up watching the other players that I like, both as players and as people, just for the sake of one crooked person? And frankly speaking, there's more abominable celebrities than nice, decent, clean ones. Take footballers for example. Alves is a convicted rapist. Hakimi has a rape case against him. Even among the legends, Cristiano Ronaldo's personal life is extremely unsavoury. The less said of Ronaldinho's partying and womanising the better. He even went to jail. Even Pele and Maradona, who're arguably the greatest players ever are involved in many disreputable scandals. It's sad, but I think celebrities are only held accountable for their crimes if stringent legal action is taken against them, and even then, the really famous ones keep their fan-following. Celebrities are prime examples of what a million dollar paycheck can do to a common person. I bet quite a few of these celebs would have been much more decent people if they never became famous. Celebrities are just held up to different moral standards than common people. Honestly, I do think it is possible to dislike a celebrity as a person, but still like them for being good at their job, and therefore consume their content. If I started boycotting every celebrity who has done something offensive in their life, I wouldn't have any content left to consume at all.
i have nothing more to add because you said everything perfectly. this exactly. separating the art from the artist is so important, it makes our lives so much easier
