U-Chan the pink bunny

U-Chan's person's mom wrote:

"Hello I am interested in your services for repairing my daughter’s #1 love - her bunny."

I'm sure many of you could empathize with that description of a stuffed animal! And the bunny was very well hugged indeed. Here is her diagnosis photo:

There were many options for her repairs... just repairing holes, lining her, recovering all or part of her, to clean or not to clean. Her family decided to recover her pink areas (with the most balding and holes) in new fabric but keep her white areas original, just stitching any injuries there. And she would get a full spa to spruce her up as well.

Here she is in her bubble bath (patients always have a bath first, if they will get one at all, because then all fur is matched to clean and fluffed fur):

Then it was time to choose fur. There were many shades of pink and lengths of fur. Her family was leaning toward a shorter furry fleece, closer in length to her white fur, but wasn't sure. So I recovered one back panel in it and sent a photo for approval:

Approved! surgery would proceed. :-)

Here's here heart being made and installed with a bit of her original stuffing:

And here she is all better, feeling like a new rabbit, but still her original self. All her original pink was under new fur, and her original white was all visible:

Looks great! wrote her family. So U-Chan flew home to Minnesota ready for more hugs and adventures. :-)

This rabbit has been with me my whole life and it was only now that i realised, she doesn't have an actual name. She is the mother of Fifi and wife to R.B but doesn't have her down name beyond Patch Rabbit, and Patch Rabbit is a new thing because as a kid I'd just describe her to ask for/ talk about her. She doesn't look well loved to ME, but I am told she looks old and loved to others, looking at some new listings for ones like her in comparison she does look loved. I love her very very much and she means a lot to me so idk how I realised she doesn't have a name 😅

*She was sold at Next but no one really knows for sure if she was owned by them. This is the only picture of her tags out there and its not much help. Credit link. Some people are selling her for £35 but that's the only information I could find. Oh also, she came with those patches by the way, you can gel for yourself due to the small stitching holes lining the sides of the patches.

Bubbles the Bunny

Bubbles is cross between a doll and a stuffed animal. Animal head and limbs, cloth body that looks like clothes. Not an unusual combination. Like many of her style animal, her cloth body had worn over the years much more than her furry animal parts (which are a thicker material).

Her person first wrote back in December 2020, asking about help for Bubbles. But as we all know... time kind of went all wibbly wobbly over the last few years, and Bubbles, even though her family is local, didn't make it to the hospital till this winter. Here are the second batch of diagnosis photos, from right before she came to the hospital:

What you may or may not be able to see, is that there are a few layers of clothes on Bubbles. She also has some inner ear tearing, her nose and mouth are gone, and she has some balding on her fur. The plan was to treat all of this, plus give her a spa. Her family was providing the fabric for her new clothes.

Here she is in her bubble bath:

And here's here heart being made and installed with a bit of her original stuffing and the new fabric we'd be using for her cotton body parts:

After some time in surgery, she was feeling much better with her new flowered fabric, balding treated, and newly lined inner ears:

Last touch... a bit more stuffing and new nose:

Her family picked her up and she got hugs from every one... in multiple generations!
