Boeing has an international customer to keep the production of the F/A-18 Super Hornets alive

Boeing plans to extend the production of the F/A-18 fighter until 2027 if the Super Hornet is selected by an international customer. Otherwise, the production of the jet used in the film "Top Gun: Maverick" ends in 2025.

America's leading aircraft manufacturer expects to complete production of the new F/A-18 Super Hornet in late 2025, after the delivery of the U.S. Navy final fighters, Boeing said in a statement on February 24.

To try to keep production open for longer, Boeing is competing with Dassault's Rafale Marine to provide the F/A-18 Super Hornet version for the Indian Navy to use in its new aircraft carrier. Although no selection has been made, more recent reports say that Rafale Marine is preferred due to its resemblance to Rafale sold to the Indian Air Force.

The US is developing its Next Generation Air Dominance Fighter (NGAD) and Boeing may play a role in this venture. “We are planning our future and building fighter aircraft is in our DNA,” said Steve Nordlund, vice president of Boeing Air Dominance.

To support work on the next generation of manned and unmanned aircraft, Boeing plans to build three new state-of-the-art facilities in St. Louis. These facilities, as well as the new Advanced Composite Manufacturing Center in Arizona and the new MQ-25 production facility at MidAmerica St. Louis Airport, represent an investment of more than US$ 1 billion.

Boeing St. Louis will increase the production of the world's first fully digital training system, the T-7A Red Hawk, and the world's first autonomous refuelling aircraft deployed in aircraft carriers, the MQ-25 Stingray, along with the continuous production of the new F-15EX Eagle IIs and 777X wing components.

In addition, Boeing will continue to develop advanced features and updates for the global fleet F/A-18 Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler. Over the next decade, all Block II Super Hornets in Life Modification will receive the set of Block III features. Boeing will also continue to add advanced electronic attack features as part of Growler's ongoing modifications.

Age of the Universe in Jewish Chronology

Young earth creationists insist that the universe is less than 10,000 years old. While humanity may have begun, according to the commentaries, 5700 years ago, that doesn't mean the creation itself is only 5700 years old:

The Talmud considers the story of creation to contain some of the deepest secrets of Kabbalah, which may be taught only to a single student at a time (Mishna Hagigah 2:1). Further, the Sages clearly exclude the first days of Genesis – before Adam’s creation – from our regular calendar. The current count of 5775 years from Creation actually counts from the first day of Adam’s life (on Rosh Hashanah), not the first day of creation. The earlier days, before the world’s first Rosh Hashanah, are described as part of the “year of tohu (emptiness, chaos).” It is thus entirely possible that the “days” referred to in the story of Creation do not mean 24-hour days but epochs. Isaac of Akko dated the creation to be 15 billion years old, which corresponds to Big Bang cosmology:

Rabbi Isaac of Akko who lived between 1250-1350 C.E., wrote in Ozar HaHayyim, since 6 cycles existed before the creation of Adam, their chronology must be measured in "Divine years," not in "human years." How do we measure a "Divine year"? According to Psalm 90:4, there is a hint at the manner of measuring a Divine year: "For a thousand years in Your sight are as a day."

Therefore, according to Rabbi Isaac, the universe would be 42,000 divine years (i.e.. the six preceding cycles of 7,000 year each) x 365,250 human years (365.25 days in a year, with each divine day =1,000 "human years"). This equals 15,340,500,000. Modern science has concluded from calculations based on the expanding universe and cosmological observations, that the universe is 15 billion years old. Even if the universe were 15 billion years old, this wouldn’t automatically prove that evolution is true, which is a separate matter from the age of the universe.

Amazingly, the medieval commentator Nachmanides predicted Big Bang cosmology:

At the briefest instant following creation, all the matter of the universe was concentrated in a very small place, no larger than a grain of mustard. . . . From the initial concentration of this intangible substance in its minute location, the substance expanded, expanding the universe as it did so. Since everything that begins to exist has a cause, God was the uncaused first cause of the Big Bang. According to Isaiah 42:5 and Job 9:8, God “stretched out” the heavens, which corresponds to the Big Bang.

Orthodox Jewish physicist Gerald Schroeder, who advances the position that Big Bang cosmology demonstrates the existence of God, is also critical of Darwinian evolution:

As Niles Eldredge, curator at the American Museum of Natural History, NYC, wrote in the New York Times, “The fossil record that we were told to find for the past 150 years (since Charles Darwin ) does not exist.” Darwin insisted that “natura non facit saltum,” that nature does not make jumps. In fact, the flow of life as recorded in the fossil record has many jumps in complexity. The great trade secret of paleontology is that the fossil record does not confirm Darwin. Never did I expect to read in the esteemed, peer reviewed journal, Science, the following: “Did Darwin get it all right?” And the sub-title was no, species appear with a most un-Darwinian rapidity. The problems of evolution begin with the origin of life (Richard Dawkins attributes the origin of life to “luck.”) and continue through the fossil record. Most precisely, the oldest rocks that can bear fossils already have fossils of microbes, some undergoing cell division. Nature “invented” DNA, RNA, cell structure, cell function with startling rapidity... What caused the big bang is still being debated. Scientists suggest that within the laws of nature, the concept of a quantum fluctuation could create a universe. This of course assumes that: 1) the laws of nature (not physical nature, but totally abstract, non-physical laws of nature) pre-date the universe; 2) that these laws are eternal or timeless, outside of time; and 3) that within these eternal laws is the property of a quantum fluctuation that under extreme conditions can produce the physical universe from absolute nothing. Now all this sounds very much like the biblical definition of God. The Bible tells us that the eternal, non-physical God created the universe – perhaps working through the laws of nature. Recall that in the Exodus account, God used a force of nature, a strong east wind, to split the sea (Exodus 14:21). something i think about a lot is how the inch is defined as 25.4 milimeters, so there's an integer ratio between imperial and metric, that 5 inches are 127 mililmeters. so 127/5 is 25.4 but i wanted to find 5/127, and no calculator i could find would work with 127ths because they've got so many digits and they always cap out at like 14 places max and i wamted the full (non-terminating) expansion so i figured i'd have to either do the long division by hand or cobble together something in python and i didn't want tp do either of those because it's a lot of work. but one night i was lying in bed thinking about it amd water finally reached soul and i went to the computer to get the software to do it. i sleep naked btw amd this is important because while i was working on it the cat saught entry to my room and i didn't have the heart to keep him out and he loves being on my lap and he expresses affection with his toe knives and i canNOT let him claw at my exposed penis so for a while i was coding while also deterring him from climbing me and i wound up getting dressed in the middle of the night specifically to satisfy him

the reason i wanted the 127th is because there are this disused metric unit (decimeter) and disused inperial unit (hand) that are incredibly close in size (1 hand = 1.016 dm) and i wanted to know the inverse, like how much is a dm in hands, and a 127th has 42 reocurring digits. CANTLON: NHL DRAFT DAY 2 SUMMARY AND NEWS

BY: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT - The bulk of the selections in the NHL Draft come on day two. Due to the pandemic, the sample size for current video and seeing players in-person is much smaller. Therefore, there were far fewer than normal games played. In some cases, no games were played at all. College players had a much shorter-than-usual schedule. Most schools had conference-only matchups, except for a few schools that managed to get in a few non-conference meetings. In Canadian junior hockey, only the QMJHL was able to play a division-only schedule, albeit an interrupted one. The WHL played just 25 divisional games while over in the OHL. They didn't play at all. Meanwhile, in the United States, the highest junior league, the tier-1 USHL, played a 54-game schedule, with many players that weren't selected, but that should have been. The breakdown of the final draft numbers is a bit surprising. In the major junior category, the WHL had 31 players selected. The QMJHL saw 24 drafted. The inactive OHL saw 22 of its players chosen, the same for the USHL. Finally, the tier-2 NAHL had one picked. Outside of the three studs from Michigan taken in the first five picks, two (2) other collegiate players were taken in the remainder of the draft. There were 91 players selected from Europe. ASSESSING WHO TO SELECT In terms of the ever-critical development picture, so many scouts were making assessments on year-old games or based their opinions on an incomplete '20-'21 season, with video as their only guide. Players have grown physically and mentally, but their in-game reps and in-person scouting assessments were critically lacking. Like New York Rangers first-round pick Brennan Othermann, who holds dual citizenship in Europe (Switzerland), and Chase Stillman, the grandson of former New Haven Nighthawk and Ranger, ninth round (154th overall) 1975 draft choice, Bud Stefanski, took a chance. Instead, they played in Denmark as they sought a less affected COVID country and giving themselves a heightened chance of being scouted. Scouts were put to the test this draft to fill organizational needs with hidden gems that nobody else had found. As a result, the dice were tossed all over NHL Draft rooms. MORROW GOES IN ROUND TWO The town of Darien is becoming a CT hockey hotbed of late. First, goalie Spencer Knight was drafted. He now skates for the Florida Panthers. Steve Morrow, his father, was drafted by the Flyers as a tenth-round pick in the 1987 Draft (209th overall). He had a brief minor-league pro career with the Hershey Bears (AHL) and the Ft. Worth Texans (CHL). Recently, he coached in the Mid-Fairfield Rangers youth hockey program. He is named after his uncle, Scott, drafted by the Hartford Whalers in the fifth round (95th overall) in the 1988 NHL Draft. He never made it to Hartford but did play for their AHL farm team, the Springfield Indians. He had a ten-year minor league pro career. The younger Morrow has skated the last five years in the Shattuck’s St. Mary’s Sabres program (MNPREP), bypassing public and prep school hockey in the Nutmeg State.
