#latergram The Art Deco masterpiece that is Union Terminal was originally built in the 1920s to tie together 13 different train lines, in an age when train travel was a daily way of life and Cincinnati was right in the center of it all. These days, only a few trains still depart from here, the organ sits quietly behind glass, and most visitors come for the Omnimax movie theatre or @cincymuseum . Holiday Junction at Union Terminal So, taking a trip down memory lane here: Cincinnati Gas & Electric (CG&E nee Cinergy nee Duke Energy) used to have a holiday train display in the lobby of its headquarters at Fourth and Main in Downtown Cincinnati. My family went almost every year when we lived in Cincinnati in the 1980s and 1990s. The display moved to Union Terminal in the 2010s and me, chasing nostalgia and being in Cincinnati during the holiday season, my grandma and I went to see the trains. Meanwhile... from the Hall Of Justice. Did you know that in the early 1970s, Union Terminal became the model for the home of the Justice League in the cartoon Super Friends? Artist Al Gumer drew the Hall of Justice and based his creation off of the façade of Union Terminal, earning our building a permanent place in popular culture.

Happy belated BIRTHDAY to @davestruestories of long time client @foofighters !!! . These are sketches done last year for their 25th #bigreddelicious tour that I decided to not use. Hopefully one day I can. . SKETCH 1 This was meant for the Cinci poster that was released last month. I was going to draw each of the band members reflected in the glasses of the woman. I kept obsessing over it and eventually felt that it would’ve made the piece too busy. I was looking at #mikemignola 's #Dracula work to understand how he captured a likeness in an economic way. . SKETCH 2 This was originally in the round of sketches I turned in back in February of 2020 We were asked to create a poster specific to the city the tour was taking place in. My cities were Cincinnati and Cleveland. As a kid, I grew up loving and watching the #superfriends on tv. The #HallofJustice was based on the #UnionTerminal building in Cinci. So I thought it would be fun to draw the band in the same poses as the Super Friends with a big rainbow behind them and the HOJ in front with their #tourvan parked out front. Because of the pandemic - all tours were canceled. So was this project. Months later the Foo Fighters team hit us up again with the opportunity to release the posters. We had the option of using our original ideas or coming up with something new. I wanted to try something new. So this never got used. Maybe someday! . I’m always grateful that the #FooFighters team invites me to be a part of their projects!!! I hope to do more in 2021!!! . . . I’m in “DEADLINE MODE” for a bit until some projects get wrapped up. .
