Im honestly super satified with Kyo’s rot hashira redesign. He looks more fluffy and soft. Sum like “I am soft but I will turn your skull into ashes if you do something stupid”.
YOUR HONOR I LOVE HIM. In my au he is around his late 40s early 50 ISH??? He a dilf and still in shape.
After Akaza’s attack (he survived) he retired from his hashira position due to his eye and tummy injury which just limited his movements so became a house husband (he is married to my oc Masako who is a wind hashira) and attends to their 8 kids (4 are “adopted” tanjiro, nezuko and two siblings that were mitsuri’s kids but since she passed away he brought them under his wing). He finds a new hobby in cooking but mostly in baking and opens a small bakery called “hot cake”.
//forgot to mention but Kyo haves an utonagan dog that works as his service dog

overly specific house dog au headcanons? spill some?
I can try and fit in one post everyone I've settled completely on so far, and also be obnoxious about dog breeds. fun
I've also bothered @greghatecrimes with a lot of these so very big thanks to them for helping me settle on breeds for everyone <3
It's when I've settled on a "base breed" with dogs that sometimes things just go crazy and go from there
Start with the most overly unnecessarily detailed one here you go:
Adams is the oddest most fantasy mixed breed of ALL fucking time her parents are one Belgian Tervuren and one Borzoi x Ibizan Hound and she appeared so much Tervuren that it’s just possible to miss that she’s got any sighthound(s) in her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’s very pointy and very leggy but she is very long-furred and that's where the mistakes come from. She moves mostly with the gaits of her sighthound sides which the others find is an easy way to make her bristle. She’s prancing across the room and Chase says you move like a sighthound and she says no I don’t (yes she does)
Park is a Silken Windsprite:
Tumblr media
Probably struggles in snow and sometimes has to jump and jump to get through it when it's really deep but Adams mumbles that it’s cute and that's Fight invitation. Park brings up that Adams gets snowballs stuck on her and that it takes hours to melt out of her fur. ("Fuck you!" - "Do it yourself!") It's probably fair to say she has some little dog syndrome.
Chase is an Australian Shepherd. House probably used to make comments about he and Cameron both being Merle:
Tumblr media
Cameron is a Border Collie:
Tumblr media
Probably does the Collie Crouch sometimes. Absolutely does the Collie Stare, and that would come into House's "you can't actually pierce me with your eyes" moments.
Foreman is a Central Asian Shepherd:
Tumblr media
For a slight visual similarity to how I imagine post-Lockdown Angst Cameron might feel meeting Masters, Masters is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever:
Tumblr media
Probably has what I call in the groomers "Smart Breed Anxiety" along with her autism swag. Dogs who listen to and seem to understand every word you say and if you're telling someone or another pet off for anything, they assume they're the one you're talking to and give all their guilty looks. Also using my Bluebear as reference with that visual.
Thirteen is a Utonagan!!! No other visual!!! Have such a canine visual of The Dig it's insane.
Tumblr media
Wilson of course took Golden Retriever:
Tumblr media
House is a Scottish Deerhound, mixed with what? He doesn't know. Wants to know. Very easy to miss that he's a cross:
Tumblr media
(Little Rachel rode on his back for a bit once.)
Speaking of, Rachel is a little pupper Sheltie (Natalie) x English Shepherd (Simon) but she barely shows any Shep traits when it comes to looks:
Tumblr media
Rachel's a mini-me of her mama, Cuddy took Rough Collie:
Tumblr media
Kutner is a Springer Spaniel x Large Münsterländer, leaning more looks-wise toward the latter and leaning energy-level toward the former:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Taub is a Beagle, Chihuahuas are just too small for one of the main characters in my little visual I'm afraid:
Tumblr media
Rachel is a long-haired Dachshund, and Ruby is a show-type English Cocker Spaniel, so Sophie and Sophia are those crosses respectively.
Amber takes (Red) Husky:
Tumblr media
She's quite thick-coated but she definitely doesn't fall under "Woolly Husky" coat type.
Red (Irish) Setter Stacy:
Tumblr media
Dominika... So This dog is obviously a Belgian Malinois maybe crossed with something fluffier, but she looks exactly like this:

Afaik we don’t have any real wolfdogs here in Australia, but a fb acquaintance has been bragging about her new Lyksos (?) puppy. Apparently it’s a brand new breed here and they’re “dogs in wolfsuits”. From what I could see on their website, the dogs are mostly malamute X German shepherd. The breeder claims the dogs are all fully health and genetic tested, but the facial structure of the dogs make me think of those white tigers with Downs Syndrome (I don’t think that’s what it is but I can’t remember properly right now). Just needed to share cos I don’t understand the obsession with wanting to own a wolf…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do find it hard to believe that these two different dogs aren't [very] low contents. This is off the website of one of the Lykos breeders listed on the official Lykos website. I went looking for the exact breed mix and once again found a lot of coy "oh you know, gsd, husky, and related breeds..." wording but no actual list. I'm wondering if this is similar to the Tamaskan/Utonagan/Northern Inuit situation, where Sarloos Wolfhound or Czech Wolfdog was used and they are technically [very] low contents as a result. Or if they used those aforementioned wolfalikes, which vary by line but do have some low content wolfdog mixed in there, and again thus have created more [very] low content wolfdogs.
Does Australia allow the import of the four recognized purebred wolfdog breeds, or those wolfalikes I mentioned? If so, then I think I've figured it out.
I'm not really seeing anything that looks like the super inbred white tigers. A lot of photoshop on the eyes though.

stumbling in hours later to talk abt frankie's dogs, gonna go in order of team position for basic dog sled team configuration, there are two lead dogs, two swing dogs, anywhere from 8-14 team dogs (which can consist of other positions for backup), and two wheel dogs
honorable mention as far as pets go: lunchbox the virginia opossum that fell in through the kitchen window while frankie was making lunch and just.. moved in
lead dogs - these are the ones at the front who lead for lack of better phrasing! smart, confident, focused - vagabond : alaskan husky / had trust issues at the start, scarred from a run-in with a black bear. incredibly loyal, but will only listen to frankie. one of the first dogs frankie got after the previous team was retired. - colonel : alaskan husky / also one of the original team. on his way to retirement, oldest dog on the team currently. - flash : alaskan husky / fastest dog on the team ! brilliant dog and quick to follow commands, though it does make it harder for the team to keep up from time to time. - bold ruler : alaskan husky / newest lead dog to the team. purchased as a new prospect from another sled dog kennel in the state. doing well so far ! - jigsaw : wolf-dog hybrid / a bit insane. only respects frankie, and that took time to build the trust. will manage to get off his lead in the yard and shows back up covered in blood with no discernable injuries. has scared off most workers frankie has tried to hire part-time. - squid : alaskan husky / leads like a team captain, but the pickiest of the team. if he doesn't have his harness and his boots, and ride in his spot in the team truck, he gets anxious as hell and can't perform.
swing dogs - these dogs help with steering and stay on trail on corners, basically following the leads - lamborghini : seppala siberian sleddog / one of the only "purebreds" on the team. very snooty, and often simply gets referred to as "lambo". the dog has an ego. - pitstop : utonagan / twin a. only gets run with u-haul, as they haven't really got much experience with the rest of the team. - u-haul : utonagan / twin b. these dogs were picked up sort of last minute by frankie from someone getting rid of them in a walmart parking lot. littermate syndrome for real. - mohawk : wolf-dog hybrid / named for the distinct ridge of hair like a "mohawk" he has going down his head/back. very playful, and gets into trouble often. littermates with punk. - pretzel : alaskan husky / the only female swing dog! she's the only one currently on the team that actually works well with the boys, a lot of the other team dogs that they've tried as swings just.. don't work out. - mako : siberian husky / the only true siberian husky that frankie owns. the classic husky, very handsome, and insanely smart. screams during de-shed time. - tiger : alaskan husky / the most weirdly cat-like dog you'll ever find. he's a red brindle.. something. likely akita inu mix. always has one eye on the team, no matter what's going on.
wheel dogs - these are the dogs that initially pull the sled when the journey begins, the biggest and strongest - melonhead : alaskan malamute / absolutely huge, even compared to the other wheel dogs. sort of almost has a bull terrier wedge head, hence the name. - rusty : alaskan husky / one of the smaller wheel dogs, and the second oldest on the team. tends to act like the Team Dad. - matador : alaskan husky / newest wheel dog recruit. got his name from fucking around with hulk, mostly, like a matador with a bull. - hulk : alaskan husky / can either be the most gentle or rage out. tends to get overstimulated, and is in the process of retiring to pet life. - atlas : alaskan husky / one of the other older dogs. got his name from the shock of white fur he has on his head, like from when everyone took turns holding up the world in the pjo series. - titan : wolf-dog hybrid / the tallest wheel dog, compared to melonhead's bulk. incredibly gangly, though.
team dogs - these dogs provide the bulk of the power for the team, all equally strong/fast to bring balance - castaway : alaskan husky / also a scarred dog, though due to human cruelty. took a while to integrate to the team because of this, but he trusts frankie implicitly. - cracker : alaskan husky / one of the younger dogs on the team. still acts like an over-excited puppy all the time. - kookaburra : alaskan husky / very vocal, named for her habit of chattering/yipping while running or even tied to the line. - sprite : alaskan husky / smallest dog on the team. acts a bit like navi from legend of zelda, hence the name. - sky : alaskan husky / bouncy and happy all the time, a very positive light. - grover : alaskan husky / just.. the saddest dog on the team. like eeyore in dog form. will absolutely love to lay his head on your lap all day, though. - punk : wolf-dog hybrid / littermates with mohawk. took more time to work with than mohawk, and is also only really obedient for frankie. - zack : alaskan husky / named after zack from final fantasy, coz he has a scar similar to zack's on one side of his face. very charming personality for a dog. - toby : alaskan husky / another younger member of the team. might end up being a swing dog, once he settles a bit more.
house dogs - these are the pets! they don't race, though i'm sure they'd love to try! - fatty : alaskan husky / never really took to racing, and would prefer to get every table scrap possible instead. if he had a real name, frankie's forgotten it by now. - dawn : stabyhoun mix / very shy with strangers, and slow to trust. likes to hide behind frankie when meeting new people. - petunia : chinook mix / kind of snobby with strangers, like they aren't good enough for her. likes to go and check on the team often when frankie's doing their morning rounds. - august : chow-chow mix / big loverboy, and will lay completely on top of you, while sighing a huge sigh as if he has worries in the world - toad : akita inu-kai ken mix / has a bit of a smooshed in face like a toad. also has a loud, deep bark that catches most people off guard. - jack daniels : german shepherd / the most stone butch dog you may ever meet in your life. she gets called handsome on just about every walk frankie takes her on in the cities. - nurse : dalmatian (long haired) / a loving and recent addition to the family. frankie jokes she needs to learn how to be a rescue dog like the st. bernards. - omen : borzoi / the newest non-racing dog. will commonly be referred to as The Horse.

The spider chapter of Your Mind is Full of Red is probs my favorite Cody/Jacob interaction ever, ever. Daisy the dog is an Utonagan and Charlie's a Doberman-Collie mix. The neighbors AU is pretty big in reality, but I never had the drive to finish more than a few chapters. :(
Of all the fics I've written for FC5, Shades of Winter is my favorite plot-wise. Like I had a full notebook of ideas just for this fic, as well as a soundtrack and moodboards. It's also the only fic to date that's ever had a plot point that truly scared me. The ghosts were designed to reflect causes of death: Jacob's ghost was made of fire (obvs), Faith's out of the gas leak that killed her, John's ghost moved through electrical conduits because of his electrocution, and Joseph appeared to be disjointed because of being crushed. All of them were based off ghosts in the game The Suffering. And yeah, there was ghost sex.

What is a Wolfalike?
A Wolfalike (the noun being taken from the adjective ‘wolf-like‘) describes a type of dog (Canis familiaris) intentionally created to be as close to the wolf (Canis lupus) in appearance and characteristics as possible while retaining mostly dog-like behaviours but no or negligible actual wolf content.
For years people have been trying to create a Wolfalike dog to this specification. More familiar Wolfalike breeds might be the Northern Inuit Dog, The Utonagan and the Tamaskan – all of these were originally bred using the same founding dogs.
The most popular breeds used in the foundation of the different Wolfalike breeds are the Siberian Husky, the Alaskan Malamute and the German Shepherd; traces of other breeds such as the Samoyed and Norwegian Elkhound and Collie have also been found in the genetic makeup of some Wolfalike dogs. You will also find that some Wolfalike dogs do have a minimal amount of wolf content in them, but this is negligible. Some breeders have used The Saarloos wolfdog or the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog (Vlack) in their breeding programs as well.
Because of people’s difference of opinions on how the various Wolfalike breeds should move forward, many breeders have opted to move away from the closed gene pool clubs and become independent breeders to better develop the breed and widen the gene pool by introducing other Wolfalike type dogs.
Specifications/Standards
A Wolfalike can be large and athletic – or Giant and robust, some are similar in height and weight to the German Shepherd, others tower above the German Shepherd and take on the Timberwolf stance. He or she should have a wolf-like appearance with a dense coat in the winter and a sleeker coat in the summer. The head should bear medium-sized ears and a characteristic “wolfish” mask. The tail should be straight and bushy. Everyone’s perspective of a wolf is different but the more similarities the individual has to a “standard” wolf in looks and movement the better.
Behaviour
Wolfalikes are intelligent dogs, but, on occasion, might like to come across as less clever than they actually are. They love to learn and are really willing to please you, but they do lose interest and get bored easily, at which point they are likely to feign stupidity and forgetfulness! They are loyal and lovable companions with a wonderful Temperament and make fantastic family pets. They get along well in a home environment with children and other animals as long as introduced to them when your dog is a puppy, so they will grow up together.
Wolfalikes are, as a rule, pack animals and are therefore at their best kept together in a group. They can, however, be the only dog if you have a huge amount of time required to commit to their not inconsiderable needs. In an only-dog situation, you will become your dog’s pack and he or she will want to do everything they can with you. You will need to entertain him/her as otherwise he/she will become bored and potentially extremely destructive. Prey drive (which may include small pets such as cats or rabbits…) varies from dog to dog depending on which breeds have been added into their makeup. If you find you have a puppy with higher prey drive, then we suggest plenty of training on a long line lead and that you do not let your dog off lead if it is anywhere near animals unless you have full control with recall.
Care
As with many double-coated breeds, Wolfalikes moult twice a year, usually in Spring and Autumn. During their moults, their soft undercoat will fall out gently and painlessly in tufts for weeks. This process is known as “blowing their coat”. At this time, they will need brushing around 3 times a day. Your house will resemble a snowstorm and you will have tumbleweeds of fur rolling around, so investing in a good vacuum cleaner is a must. Sometimes you will wonder where all the fur has come from – it seems impossible that one dog can be hiding so much.
Occasionally they will also lose their guard hairs (top coat) and when they do, they tend to look very untidy and unkempt until their full coat grows back. When they have finished moulting, daily grooming of Wolfalikes is good practice as it keeps them clean and knot-free. It also gives you a chance to check for lumps, bumps and any injuries or ticks they may have picked up on a walk.
Training
As puppies, Wolfalikes are very quick to learn and willing to please. It is recommended that as soon as they are allowed out in public, you should take them along to an approved training school where they can begin to learn not only some basic manners but also how to mix with other breeds. Some puppies can be very outgoing and bold, whilst others are more reserved and need extra coaxing to join in. Wolfalike dogs need plenty of early socialisation and positive training experiences as they grow. They can be very stubborn at times as they get older, so extra encouragement and patience are needed. They do go through different life stages, just like human beings, and if they are left untrained, habits formed at these times can cause issues as the dogs grow into adulthood. If you start from an early age, most Wolfalike dogs can be successfully let off the lead, and with plenty of training will come back to their owner on command. Training is a lifetime commitment with a Wolfalike dog.
Exercise
As with any large breed dog, care should be taken with the amount of on lead exercise you give a puppy. A good rule of thumb is a ratio of five minutes of exercise per month of age (up to twice a day) until the puppy is fully grown, i.e. 15 minutes (up to twice a day) when three months old, 20 minutes when four months old etc, up to twice a day. Once they are fully grown, they can go out for much longer. As Wolfalikes are a large or Giant breed you really need to be cautious with what you allow them to do at a young age, absolutely no agility, mushing or continuous running until they are past 18 months old, and then it will depend on how the growth of each individual dog is going.
Housing
Wolfalike Dogs love to be part of the family and cuddle up on the sofa with you, just remember when allowing that cute 10kg puppy up on the sofa or your bed for cuddles, that that 55kg Adult will also still think its ok to come up for cuddles, set boundaries from the start. A safe area for when you are out is great to have, as they can get up to mischief as soon as they know you are not around. Crate Training is a sensible thing to do with these dogs if done correctly as it keeps them safe and out of harm’s way.
Some Wolfalikes prefer to be cooler and may want the door open to the outside all day, a nice outdoor area is always a good idea, where they can be dry but still lay out in the fresh air. A fair size garden is ideal for these dogs, remember to check you have no plants that are poisonous to dogs, as Wolfalikes do like to help with the gardening.

Pardon my ignorance, but what are the four wolfdog breeds?
Kunming Dog (China), Sarloos Wolfdog (Netherlands), Czech Vlcak (Czech Republic), and Lupo Italino (Italy). All of these are relatively low content at this point but recognized breeds of wolfdog in various registries. Their legality status varies widely from "just a dog" to "pure wolf" depending on how restrictive the laws are in that particular area, but they are all technically low content wolfdogs. These are just a few of the various projects many governments have tried to combine wolf with GSD in order to create a working dog. Most of these projects have failed because it creates a dog that is skittish and lacks the confidence or drive to perform the work, these four are what remains of that era.
Tamaskans, Utonagans, Northern Inuit Dogs, American Native Indian Dogs, Alaskan Noble Companion Dogs, Blue Bay Shepherds, and others like them are "wolfalikes" whose breed purpose was supposedly to create a wolfy-looking dog with zero wolf in them, and all of them have lines that absolutely do come from wolfdogs whether by using one of the recognized wolfdog breeds (so they're absurdly low content) or by using actual wolves and higher content wolfdogs (so they're mostly low-to-mid content). Their creators all deny it as do a large percentage of their breed communities but genetics don't lie.
It is for this reason that I now regard EVERY supposed "looks like a wolf without any wolf!" creations with a lot of suspicion. When paper hanging and outright dishonesty is simply par for the course when it comes to these dogs, I just don't trust when someone says their dogs supposedly magically look like low or mid contents without wolf in them. And to me, that dooms a breed pretty quickly if you're being so dishonest about what's in your breeding program.

Utonagan
The Utonagans are quite unique dogs. This breed is the only large breed dog, bred to look like a wolf and with no working use in mind. The Utonagans were entirely developed in Englandby Edwina Harrison in 1987. They were originally advertised as wolf hybrid by him. Edwina Harrison used 5 rescued dogs or unknown origin and added German Shepherd, Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute to the list. The Utonagan Society further developed its lines by returning to stock from the conceptual breeder.
The Utonagans are essentially a companion dogs. These dogs have excellent temperament with children. They also love the company of people plus they get along well with cats and smaller dogs. Though there were no reasons for breeding Utonagans, other than the looks, they have been selectively bred from three extremely high energy working dogs, which are, Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Husky and German Shepherd and hence they can be trained for anything if desired however, one must understand the natural drive before selecting the dog for specific training purpose. Despite its German Shepherd ancestry, the Utonagan is not a guard dog. In fact, they would rather lick a stranger than attack or bark at them. Utonagans will howl, from time to time, if they are bored or if they wish to attract their owner's attention. [x]
