i had an idea for a vox machina one shot type thing, where gn!reader and the party are at some high class dinner, and afterwards reader starts to feel sick—turns out they were deliberately poisoned with something that the perpetrator knew would only affect them (maybe based on species, like they’re a tabaxi or smth)
I’m living for these angst prompts, particularly while waiting for S3 (and I have some for S3 planned too 🫣)
Masterlist 10
Percy
He’s there to catch you if you faint from the poison’s effect and immediately attends to you. That being said, his mercy will NOT extend to the one who committed such an act against you
Vax
Feeling helpless he can’t heal you, he’s there for you as soon as he can, calling for the others to help him and pleading his Matron doesn’t come for you
Keyleth
She’s in fear for you but full of exasperated anger at who would do such a thing to you
Vex
A woman of action! Either her sharp perception will be enough to stop before you’re poisoned or she’s there to help
Pike
She immediately picks up on what’s wrong with you, trying to heal you as best she can or at least to where the pain after-effect is mitigating
Grog
More of his fear in this situation stems from not knowing what’s wrong with you-unable to help you, but he will be more than glad to rage against who hurt you
Scanlan
At first he thinks this is a bit you’re pulling, say a distraction or something akin to it, but the more he realizes the opposite is happening, the more the realization sinks in

Can you do head canons for vox machina after you have to get revived
Tumblr media
Depending on how you died, it would’ve hurt the group all the same. Having someone out of their rag tag group meeting an unfortunate end and they’re unable to prevent it from occurring? It’s not a nice a feeling in the slightest.
So it was only natural for Vax, Vex, Percy, Keyleth, Scanlan, Pike and Grog to feel as though they were all partially to blame for your death. It’s a feeling that they would carry with them even after you’ve been revived.
Death wasn’t something one can easily walk away from after being revived and you weren’t any different. If anything the experience of dying then being brought back changed you in ways unknown to yourself until someone were to be upfront about it to you.
Keyleth and Pike would constantly be checking on you after even something as small as a minor inconvenience. Healing you almost straight away even if it was something as small as a paper cut. One of them would always be seen by your side during battles with the additions of Percy and vex acting as long range shooters for opponents Pike and Keyleth couldn’t quite reach with their depleting energy.
Vax would be watching over you like a goddamn hawk, making sure no one tried to pull a fast one over you, always having your back during fights. Vex would also go out of her way to have your back during a fight but in a more discreet manor then the reckless manor her twin would take. Going so far as to scold you whenever you did something reckless in battle or went a little too far out for her liking; But her tone of words and the look in her eyes didn’t match up.
Percy would make upgrades to your weapons or completely make you a new one from scratch when he wasn’t satisfied with the lack of efficiency from your weapon. He’d go through all the processes with you on what does what but it doesn’t really matter as much like Vax he would look out for you in battle, gunning down assailants from a distance and then deny it when confronted about it like…your the only one in the group with a fucking gun dude, I heard gunshots. So naturally I’m going to assume.
Scanlan would take a more light hearted approach in comparison to his friends. Whilst they’re all trying to provide you with protection from any and all harm, the bard would go instead provide you with some company. He’d joke and jest but you noted how his smile reached his eyes nor did his laughter sound completely genuine, Alamo as though he were distracted.
He also makes a mean sandwich so I wouldn’t be surprised if he made an extra special one for you and when you’d ask for the occasion for this random act of service, he’d merely shrug it off as him doing something for a friend.
Grog would probably be protective over you in battle, always picking off the hardest ones so that you would’ve ever have to deal with it yourself. He’s your wall of protection and is more then willing to take all the physical punishment then allow you to even pertain a harmless bruise.
Over all, they would be protective over you in their own way and would gladly form a protective shield out of their own bodies strewn out in front of you if needs be. A good majority of them (Percy, Vax, Vex, etc) have lost good people that were once close to them. They’ve lost you once and there’s no way in hell would they allow that to ever happen again. Get mad at them all you like, try to push them away but they don’t care, their hearts can only take so much breakage despite what their hardened visages would like to say.

Being a child member of Vox Machina and… | Vox Machina x child reader
Summary | Young reader is rescued by Vox Machina. After deciding to follow them in their travels they are somewhat taken under the wings of the group.
Genre | platonic, fluff
You were small when Vox Machina rescued you with a cluster of other children from the clutches of a vicious band of mercenaries that had decided to try their hand at child trafficking.
You were somewhat disappointed it wasn’t your parents who’d rescued you. A small part of you had hoped it would be them didn’t show, but now you had a chance at finding your family again.
Older children, teens really, took up arms, deciding to fill the new vacuum that would be left by the slaughtered mercenaries. However, they swore to do right by your saviors and tread a more righteous path, perhaps even free children less fortunate.
The younger were eager to return to their homes, and your saviors assured them there would be many to help them find their way in a near-by village. You were young, tiny. But unlike the other children, you had no place to return to once the dust had stilled and blood dried. No place you could name.
One of the roguish band seemed to notice you lagging behind the assortment of children trekking towards freedom. You were the smallest of the lot. Additionally, the unhealthy paleness of your skin suggested you’d been in captivity longer than the comparatively healthier looking younglings.
She offered you a spare cookie, so long as you promised, not let the others know. The wafer was dry and slightly stale, certainly not enough to satisfy your hunger, nonetheless you had something new to add to your very short list of favorite things in the whole world; cookies!
The band of rogues, or as they arrogantly called themselves Vox Machina, seemed nice enough in your opinion, a bit rough around the edges, funny. The biggest of the lot, from what you could tell, was a giant. They let a handful of kids use them as jungle gym as you all made your way. Conversely, the shortest walked alongside them, reminding the giant, buddy?, to be careful of the kids.
Then there was the purple short one and the person with antlers sprouting out of their head. They were funny to watch. The purple one swore he’d be able to help the antlered folk connect with kids, if they followed what they said exactly. Jumping ahead, the purple bard was now considered an easy tease, while the antlered one was particularly worshipped by the children of farmers after demonstrating her relationship with plants. (*Cough cough* peasants)
However, it was the other three you gravitated towards. The most level headed of the bunch, well as level-headed as one could be in this group of crazies. Ghost hair, pointy, and the kind one who’d given you the cookie. With the others corralling/entertaining the kids, they took up the lead, keeping a careful eye on the path ahead, weary of bandits.
You followed close at the heels of the kind one; you liked them the best. They didn’t seem to mind your presence, often checking for you when you began to fall behind. Ghost hair who walked by their side was distrustful, but the two waved off his concerns, poking at his mistrust of children.
You had never witnessed in your life such joy. Upon arriving at the nearest village, there were happy reunions as loved ones were reunited and hope was returned to those who received word of their family’s worry. The guards promised the remaining children they would be clothed and fed, then taken to their proper villages in due time. For the moment, the village had something to celebrate, and heroes to thank.
This gave you the perfect opportunity to disappear into the shadows. When the guards inquired where each of the unclaimed children were from, you were one who couldn’t put a name to the place, and unfortunately you couldn’t remember any landmarks of your home, just a river.
You didn’t know your surname, as your father had taken to calling you only by your affectionate nickname. Additionally, you didn’t know the names of parents. You were young. They were your mom and dad.
You refused to be hauled from village to village only to be placed in an orphanage when they couldn’t find your place. You wanted to find your parents; they had to miss you; you missed them.
You’d heard the purple one speaking, beastly spewing tales of the group's great travels across the lands. Vox Machina, a group of adventurers. Perhaps you could stowaway and use them to travel and find your family. (Thank the heavens you rolled a 19 + your stealth and everyone else rolled crap.)
Unfortunately after a half a day’s travel worth of walking your plan fell to shit when you sneezed.
“Vax, did you just sneeze out of your ass?” - Purple one
In a blink, Vox Machina took arms, ready to tear into the fool that’d decided to follow them. With your brilliant hiding spot beneath pointy’s, Vax’s cloak revealed you stood exposed with seven manners of weapons aimed at you.
You didn’t even flinch, instead waving, in the shy way children do. Your action managed to disengage all but one who’s weapon needed to be pushed down by the kind one.
“Hello darling.” - kind one Vex
After formal introductions were made, you felt comfortable making your plea.
There was an obvious split: Keyleth, Vex, Pike and Grog wanting to assist in your quest. Vex especially understood the hole that could be left by the absence of home. Conversely, Percy, Vax, and Scanlan wanted to return you to the village. Their line of work had no room for a child. Additionally, you would “cramp” their style.
Ultimately, Vax’s mind was changed after a private conversation with his sister. (You wished you had a sibling). Once Vax had been convinced, Percy begrudgingly followed only with the promise that if you caused them any trouble, you’d be turned over to the proper hands. Scanlan still swore your presence would “cramp” their style.
Now conditionally promised their protection, you decided to introduce yourself.
“They call me (y/n).” - You
Thus began your adventures with the group known as Vox Machina.
It wasn’t long before much of the group considered you a member of some status in their little group, though they’d never say.
Vex took it upon herself to teach you the basics of long ranged archery fighting. None of them allowed you to purposely engage in long ranged combat. Still, they armed you with a short bow and a slingshot.
When it was needed, you’d run healing potions to those who need them. Vax would, at some point, admit you were gifted with unnatural agility and speed. You affirm that you’d learned to be quick playing chase with your friend back home.
In terms of personality, you fell into a category with Percy. You tended to think highly of yourself and were quite intelligent. Scanlan Some would call you bossy, you preferred the term responsible. As Percy had conditioned, you couldn’t cause trouble, or they’d leave you behind. So you behaved doing your best to do as you were asked and staying out of trouble.
There was, of course, the naïve innocence that came with you. Everyone could only assume it was due to your time in captivity. There are times your inner child would make an appearance. You’d display your wonder in little jumps or squeals when something managed to excite you. Though you’d quickly regain a composure only comparable to that of a proper young lady.
If anyone it’s Vax, that brings out your childish habits, such a bad influence. He’s always poking at you, trying to convince you to assist him in his latest prank or con. Your cuteness makes you a great accomplice, when you do agree to assist. Partners in crime.
He lets you hide beneath the cloak when the sun is too bright, and snuggle in when the world is too much.
He reminds you of your friend back home.
Keyleth is eager to introduce you to the natural world and all it has to offer. But was disappointed to learn you have little interest in such things. When with your parents, you had heard once that druid magic was abominable. There’s only one magic that should be practiced.
Still, you’re very supportive of Keyleth. Always offering her a hand to hold when you notice her beginning to panic, politely listening to her ideas and rambles. You’re a good confidant.
You do enjoy the time spent with her, despite her antsy anxiety. There’s something about her that’s quieting, not disarming but quieting. Though you’d learned to look down on such tree huggers, you never forbid her from decorating your hair with flowers.
Grog and Pike, you quickly realized, are a friendship pair, the best of buddies, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t room for you in their pair.
Grog is basically an overgrown child himself. When you did unwind, was your giant playmate. Of the group, he was the only one to witness your hidden personality, the one even you yourself were not aware of, not the one you presented to please.
When the two of you would spar, he’d pretend your little punches were the stuff of legend, often letting you win just to see the lopsided smile on your face.
Furthermore, you both shared a love of meat raw or cooked. For one so small, you could certainly stomach your fair share. (He almost gave you ale once but was swiftly shut down by Percy).
As for Pike, she disappeared a lot, leaving much to be desired in terms of your friendship. Nonetheless, she had your back on multiple occasions, earning your admiration. Though you were small and young, she didn’t underestimate you, at times persuading the others to give your ideas a try.
While too much time around Pike would leave you with a headache and somewhat nauseous, presumably because of the long lectures about the Everlight and the righteous path (which bored you), you looked forward to her return whenever she was away.
Due to the risque nature of Scanlan Shorthault, most of Vox Machina did their best to prevent Scanlan from spending one-on-one time with you. They were concerned with what the bardic gnome might say, or teach you, while unsupervised.
Still, while you stayed awake on the dark nights, you couldn't help but listen to the soothing tunes he would strum while the others lay asleep.
Despite his rigidity, your second favorite member of the team was Percival. As mentioned, you two are relatively similar, both quiet, intelligent, and favoring dignified acts. You enjoy following him, attempting to replicate his mannerisms.
Initially, this had annoyed him, but you began to remind him of his younger siblings. Eventually he found himself falling into a certain pattern of behavior with you. “Don’t run too far (y/n),” “Don’t dawdle, (y/n), hold my hand.” Struggling to hide his panic anytime you were injured, checking on you while you slept.
He, of course, maintained his arms length attitude, knowing one day you’d leave the party and reunite with your proper family. Though he would never admit it, he had formed an attachment to you.
Knowing your love for cookies, Vex always has some on hand for when you’re looking down or do something worth rewarding.
Vex adores you. She’s made it her mission to return you to your rightful home. It led to some concern amongst her brother, who had to remind her on more than one occasion not to get too attached.
You care deeply for the strange group that’s taken you under your wing. But their care is conditional, temporary, you’re sure.
Now in Emon you spent much of your free time, usually the late nights, while the others got themselves plastered searching the signage for any inquiries of missing children and asking travelers in taverns about the river you remembered.
You hoped someone had some information that would spark your memory of home this time, as the group set out this evening. After all, this was the last tavern in Emon, hopefully things wouldn’t go sideways this evening.
But of course, your companions had to engage in a bar fight against an opposing band of adventures, all the while you sat peacefully at the bar enjoying some rough mutton. Their actions lead to the barkeep casting you all out to the curb and some questioning Vox’s abilities.
Fortunately, Scanlan discovered a help ad which directed you all to the doors of the palace. If only you’d known the direction, this act path would lead you toward. If only Vox Machina had known you better.

Little Slayer 5| TLoVM x platonic!reader
[A/N]: Hey y’all, I hope you are enjoying the series so far. I’m trying to work on Part 6 but I’m running out on ideas on what to do or say so I thought it would be interesting to ask you the readers on what do you think should go on next and if you have any funny-liners to add in haha!
Please let me know in the comments! Now onward to the story!
Word Count| 1647
Link to [Part 4] | Link to [Part 6]
“I can’t believe it… they’re gone.” came the mournful response of the performing bard, Vax seeing his sorrowful expression as he himself was in disbelief that you had been taken just as fast.
However as he thought about what they should do at that moment, he noticed something was afoot.
Or rather something was missing.
“Surrender? They don’t know it.” a slightly familiar voice spoke. The eyes of the party members sparked in recognition of the voice, though their faces were in disbelief when they saw who had spoken it. “Impossible…” glowered the master of cremation as he lowered his head to look at you as you stood mere kilometers away holding Mythcarver in your hand.
You had managed to get it. ‘By the gods…’ thought the rogue as he could feel the corners of his lips quirk into a proud smile.
“Not ‘impossible’-- ‘I’M’ possible…” you corrected. With a smirk on your lips and with the vestige in hand; you directed Mythcarver to his feet. The dragon let out a guttural growl before looking down to see pouches of something on his left foot that alighted at that moment.
You knew that gunpowder would come in handy.
Multiple explosions reverberated in the area; Keyleth, Pike, Scanlan, and Vax moved out of the way as Scargone was knocked over by his injured foot.
Grog and Vex looked on with incredulous looks on their faces though the half-giants turned into one of glee. “See I told you she can vibrate…” he said proudly as the others recovered from the ground.
You happened to hear him and chuckled at his response but that laughter went away when Scargone set his sights on you.
His eyes seemed to try to read your figure as now that he was able to see you by the light of his flame that their was an air of familiarity surrounding you.
Of course you had no clue on what he thought of at that moment as without a second to waste you charged toward him with Mythcarver at the ready.
Vax however did not want you to further engage. “Scanlan, Keyleth get them!” he ordered as he saw your figure charge at the destructive monster.
From what you could tell all you could hear was white noise as you focused your attention on your oversized opponent who sent out another fury of blue. You dropped down skidding in time to now slide under his belly.
“Where are they?” Scargone hissed as his flame diminished from sight, sensing that you had evaded his attack. He lowered his head in search of you even though you quietly crept out from under his belly to now under his head. What you had in mind since you had the vestige was going to top all the stupidest things you had done so far.
But it would also give Vox Machina an opening when they saw what you would do next even though you couldn’t lie to yourself that it was a little bit scary.
Okay, a lot scary.
‘This is so scary?! Why did I think this was a good idea!?’ you admonished yourself as you tried to keep yourself going on the adrenaline, your lungs desperate for air as much as you tried to stifle your deep breaths. You couldn’t give way to your position no matter how much head damage the beast had as you waited for the exact moment to exact your attack.
You could see it approaching as when he was close enough to the ground, you darted out and climbed as fast as you ever climbed on top of his snout.
“That kid has more balls than I do…” the words spilled out of Scanlan’s mouth as they all witnessed you climb on top of the beast’s nose. “You got that right,” echoed Pike as they saw at first glance how Scargone was trying to make you let go of him.
“But why go on his… nose?” grunted Keyleth as she summoned more vines to pin the lizard’s wings. But her comment brought something to mind for the Matron’s champion as he looked onward to the still resisting beast though more importantly on you.
Then it hit him.
“I see what they are going to do, be on the ready..!” he informed as he ducked out of the way from a near fiery death. “I’m still trying to hold him down!” yelled the air Ashari. “Whatever you have planned, do it without me.”
“I’ll still stay with you,” Pike voiced as she still attempted to assist with all her being. “No Pike, we’re going to need you.” expressed the half-elf as he beckoned for both gnomes to follow after him. The cleric was hesitant, her eyes looking over to see if the Druid would be alright with her leaving only to see her send a look that confirmed it. It was only the four of them now that Percy, Grog and Vex were out of commission.
“GAHH!” you screamed as you tried to hold on.
“You insolent bitch! I’m going to roast you and eat you when I have my claws on you!” you heard Scargone say to you.
“I don’t taste delicious sorry! I think I have diseases!… the plague even!” you shouted as you held on to some nobs on his snout, all the while still holding onto Mythcarver. “Not the point you bastard!” he hissed as he threw his head in an attempt to bite your flailing limbs off or at most get the vestige out of your hands.
You had had it. “Then have tetanus then!” with a war cry that mostly sounded like a scream, you swung Mythcarver jabbing it by your luck a through-and-through into his nostrils.
Scaergone howled in utmost agony as your right arm was bathed in his blood.
Though by his distraction of pain, he had no time to react to the forces assembling behind him.
With a shout of “now”, thanks to Vax’s speed he was able to get Scanlan and Pike to Scargone’s skull and because of their sudden force; their attack was more deadly when they struck him again for the last time.
The dragon let out a wail as he tried to keep his head up until several gunshots penetrated his already wounded weak spots made his once towering head crash to the ground with a loud thud.
The trio having heard the gunshots looked up to see Percy towering over them on another nearby building, blood streaming down his head as he lowered his pepperbox.
“I thought this would never end…” he managed to huff out as Pike and Scanlan cheered in victory. “Me neither..” Keyleth uttered, drained as she leaned onto her staff for support. Out of all of them, she had taken the brunt of managing to stay around to keep Scargone grounded.
“It was thanks to the kid we were able to succeed…” Scanlan said with a smile, being the first to praise you. “Indeed..” Vax shared one as well that was quickly wiped away when he realized you might have not gotten off when they finished slaying the mythical beast.
“Oh shit, are they okay?..!” he quickly got off the slain dragon as he made his way toward the head, the others following in his pursuit. In that moment he did feel slight guilt from how he was acting towards you earlier. But it seemed to vanish as you said “I’m good!” to him when he made his way over. A smile was etched on your lips as you hung over upside down from the snout without a care as if you were not lying on top of a dead dragon.
“Thank goodness you are!” chuckled Pike as she watched Vax help you to get down from the dead beast’s snout. “I still can’t believe you did that..!” Scanlan spoke as Percy rounded the corner with Keyleth. For the most part, they seemed to be out of words to say as you landed down beside the gnome.
“Honestly I can’t believe I did that either!” you half-heartedly chuckled, a bit embarrassed from their praises. “I mean I know you guys said you didn’t need me around but uh… I couldn’t really help myself. I felt like I should’ve been here anyway.” you continued yet you felt yourself averting from their gazes. “I also wanted to properly thank you all from earlier. Can’t do that when you guys are dead, heh.”
“You didn’t really have to do that in more ways than some, but I think I can speak for all that we are glad you did.” Vax was the first to speak in response to your address as his comrades nodded with agreement. “But we would also like to thank you. You did save us in the end.” the freckles woman sent you a smile as you looked to her having heard she was speaking directly towards you.
“I told you they’re the best. They’re my pet after all,” a deep yet familiar voice boasted as you looked over to see Grog being helped by Vex as they approached your group.
“It appears so…” agreed the archer as she sent a nod your way, you taking it as her thanks as Pike raced over to them so that she could put her healing abilities to use.
“You flatter me, I wouldn’t mind actually being a… pet.” suddenly you saw the world going sideways as boots and other things you couldn’t identify filled your vision.
It was then the world turned black.

I do love that tlovm is getting more people into the characters and allowing them to experience the story but very occasionally I will see a take about a character and be like “oh I can instantly tell you haven’t watched the stream. because you are so so wrong”

sex n’ romance with vox machina
[HEADCANNONS]
PAIRINGS — VOX MACHINA [𝘷𝘢𝘹, 𝘷𝘦𝘹, 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘺, 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘭𝘢𝘯] x F!READER
WARNINGS — NSFW, eighteen+ SMUT. penetrative sex, oral sex, outdoor sex, anal-play, face-fucking, tongue-fucking, clit-play, breast/nipple play.
Vax’ildan
𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒈𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 : you. a generous lover and a grateful receiver; he could relish in the taste of your drooling pussy for hours, if not days, and also savour the feel of your hot mouth on his shaft, the feel of your pretty throat squeezing around his long cock.
𝒉𝒆’𝒔 : an adrenaline junkie, loves fucking you outdoors. he’d totally wake you up in the middle of the night to slowly sneak away from where the gang is camping, to a far away tree, making you grip the trunk while he is pummelling your cunt. he’d lean against the tree, grunting and whimpering when you’d take him in your mouth. he’s also have you place one leg on his shoulder— using the tree as support— while he angles himself deeper inside you.
𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒔 : the sounds you make, the pleasurable look on your face, the way you clench around his length, the way you’re his. despite the dozens of men ogling at you wherever vox machina goes, at the end of the day, you choose him; over everybody else. vax’ildan loves you.
Vex’ahlia
𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑙𝑔𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑛 : those bittersweet moments the two of you share. before a disaster is waiting to unravel, you hold each other in your arms, kiss like there’s literally no tomorrow. the feel of your soft skin against hers when you sleep, bare.
𝑠ℎ𝑒’𝑠 : losing her mind around you. she thanks all gods and stars that she’s met her soulmate who’s excruciatingly good in bed. vex has a high sex drive but likes to keep things under control, or at least she pretended to, until you showed up and now all she wants to feel is your body on hers. loses her sanity every time you nibble on her clit or leave hickeys on the underside of her breasts.
𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑠 : the freedom that comes along with you. the respect you give her is refreshing, and she’s never been loved by anyone like you. neither has she loved anyone like you, the proof of which is delivered every night when she’s got her head trapped between your thighs, lapping away at your stream of juices like the hardworking woman she is. when you return the favour by sucking harshly on her clit, which is when her dominatrix visage starts to crumble.
Percival
𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒈𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 : sinful nights, lustful days. aftercare with you, when he gets to fuck his cum back into you (though that’s his harsher, hornier, possessed side). taking care of your love-bites (they look like an act of savagery, but honestly this man IS feral for you).
𝒉𝒆 : can’t display his affection for you, publicly; his noble status doesn’t permit ‘romeo’ behaviour. — is suffering because of his pride, because the minute he is left alone with you, he pounces onto you like you’re his prey and relishes in you the same way (that rhymed) (i was a poet and i did know it). just fucks you hard and rough on most days because my manz can’t catch a break from the end of the world, and is so worked up (poor babes), but when he makes love to you? fuck. rouge tints his pale face, blushing like there’s no tomorrow, because his crush (you, bunny) is riding his dick, while your naked breasts bounce next to his face.
𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒔 : the night time; it’s his favourite hour of the day, because he finally gets to do the things he’s been craving to do to you, all fucking day. watching you writhe in overstimulation when you can’t take the feel of his hot tongue teasing your engorged clit while his long, rough fingers fuck knuckle-deep into you.
Scanlan
𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒈𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 : no, no no. he 𝑹𝑬𝑳𝑰𝑺𝑯𝑬𝑺 in you. his sex drive is infamous, and you live to hold the rumours true. the taste of your pussy after a day’s work, lapping away at the creamy sweetness that he coaxes out of you is his favourite past time when he’s not drinking away. even if he was (drinking away), he’d pair you up with his favourite beer and die a happy man.
𝒉𝒆 : does not let you catch a break. would totally spill his drink onto your chest, watch the amber beads of cheap beer dribble down your ample chest, your cleavage just begging him to shove his face in and lick the drink away. is so, so good with aftercare. knows he pushes you past your limits, so it’s his love for you that brings out this gentleman-ly side.
𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒔 : shoving that tongue into you, leaving you a sloppy mess. you’d grimace at the way your juices drip down to your asshole, but scanlan? he’d smirk in a flushed state, rubbing your unused hole solely to tease you. fingering both your holes — two in the pussy, one in the ass (knuckle-deep, obviously). sucking your nipples to soreness.
Tumblr media
A/N — thank you so much for reading, sweets. this is my first time writing headcannons so it’s not conventional.
let me know if you’d like me to do this again or/and write for the remaining members [KEYLETH, GROG, PIKE] of vox machina!

Curling up with your head in his lap, you felt his fingers start to weave through your hair. A few minutes ago, you’d asked him what he had done the night before. If Morgan had been here, he would have called that question a grave mistake, but you would never call getting to hear your love infodump a mistake. It was one of the great pleasures in your life.
You were well aware of the fact that last night was a Thursday, so you knew exactly what you’d signed up for. He always, if his work schedule allowed it, did the same thing on Thursday nights.
“And so then, they got this letter from none other than Vex’ahlia! And of course, they made Laura read it out loud,” even though you weren’t looking at him anymore, you could still hear in his voice just how hard he was smiling, “and it was so comforting to hear her again. It was like when Allura and Kima got involved in campaign 2, I honestly almost cried, not because it was sad, I just miss and love them so much!”
Softly running his short fingernails over your scalp, “and of course that moment also made me think of when I read kith and kin last winter, or I listened to the audiobook version, which also is reading, it doesn’t matter how you get the story, just that you get it. Anyways, that audiobook had their voices reading it! The right ones! It wasn’t just Liam and Laura reading, it was the twins!”
Letting out a warm yawn, you let your eyes fall shut, “and the story itself had no business being that good, and not just because it’s a part of a world I hold near and dear to my heart, but just the book itself was so good. And you know, in that, we finally got the backstory of Simon, Vax’ildan’s belt? We found out pretty quickly that it took place in a time he didn’t have it yet, and when we did see it, it was on a man named Thorn, so we automatically know that he must be someone important to the story because he had the serpent belt, he had Simon! So then, this whole big tragic romance ensues, and he ends up getting the belt.”
He then hop-skipped around, explaining random things and somehow ended up trying to explain something called the calamity. As his enthusiastic voice slowly faded away, you had a feeling that his bedtime story would end up making you dream about walking through the streets of Emon, hand in hand, with him as your guide.

reblogs > likes
Vex’ahlia • Vex had never anticipated falling in love with you, but as it happened, as she realized her feelings… she wasn’t mad about it. Vax absolutely teased her to no end about her crush, but at the end of the day, he was just happy that Vex found someone else who loved her as much as he did. • You’re her partner; she absolutely adores you. • She’s probably one of the least shy of VM; she confessed her feelings a little while after she told Vax about them. It was over a nice dinner where she spared no expense. You want the fancy ass dessert? Let’s share it. • Her shows of affection started basically right after she confessed. Grabbing your hands while traveling to press kisses to your knuckles. Arms around your waist as you fix a meal for VM. Sweet whispered nothings that would make most of the party gag if they heard (and prompt a sex joke or two from Scanlan). • The room arrangements change pretty quickly; Vax now bunking with Scanlan and Keyleth and you and Vex in the same bed. • She’s always been a wake up first kinda gal, her and Vax trying to ‘beat’ each other to waking up. If you’re like her and she happens to wake up first, she’ll pepper your face and neck with kisses until you wake up. If you hate every single thing in the morning and would probably kill someone who woke you up, she’ll lay in bed, spooning you from behind with her head in the nape of your neck. • Whenever she gets the chance around the keep, she’ll kiss any part of you she can – forehead, cheek, shoulder, so on. • She absolutely adores you and makes it clear through her words and actions often.
Keyleth • She’s incredibly shy about her feelings at first. There’s so much VM has to do and so much on her shoulders. She’s supposed to complete her Aramente and lead the Ashari and- • But then there’s you. And you’re sweet and charming and she felt she shouldn’t be worried at all about feelings and such but she is. • Do you like her back?? Does she actually like you or does she like the attention?? • It isn’t too long before Keyleth realizes that, nope, she has a lot of feelings for you. They’re legitimate and she can’t ignore them. • She’ll end up with some advice from Scanlan about wooing someone. And sweet, innocent girl she is – she definitely won’t follow it. It’s horny and weird and she’s not that. • Instead, she druid crafts you a bouquet of flowers in your favorite color. (red; https://www.pinterest.com/pin/344384702768635616/ . Orange; https://www.pinterest.com/pin/70439181664602593/ . Green; https://www.pinterest.com/pin/903886587686860156/ . Blue; https://www.pinterest.com/pin/155303887491657834/ . Purple; https://budget-bride.com/products/mila-collection-2017228-20-280?variant=42995462242537&F66=Just+Like+The+Picture .) • She’ll try to woo you as much as she possibly can – flowers, notes, just about anything she can in hopes of making sure you like her back. • After she finally realizes that you do like her back, every day is spent as close to you as possible. She absolutely adores snuggling whenever she can, holding hands while traveling, curling up besides you as Minxie when she’s decided she just doesn’t have the social energy. • She loves to kiss the inside of your wrist when she gets the chance, because that also leads to you holding her face and nuzzling. • All in all, she’s not too strong, but still wraps her arms around your waist and tries to pick you up – usually doesn’t work. That is, unless she gets teased by some of the other party and will use some vines to pick you up.
Pike • Pike was always a sweetheart to you, more so than she was to everybody else. • She’s pretty straightforward about her feelings. It takes her a little while to fully come to terms – she talks to Grog and Serenae about it and gets some advice that she decides probably isn’t the best approach. • It’s quick that she establishes her relationship with you, both verbally and symbolically. She’ll tell anybody she sees eyeing you “I know – isn’t my partner just stunning?” then plant a kiss on your hand and tug you away, smiling just a bitttt smugly. • She’s a bit too short to hug you from behind without putting her head in the small of your back or, if you’re taller, on your ass – so she tries not to do that. • With that said, if you’re sitting in in the cart while traveling or around the keep, she’ll sit behind you and wrap her arms around you and rest her chin on your shoulder, asking what you’re doing and if you want company. • She’ll always always always kiss your hands whenever she gets the chance, it’s a lot easier than trying to reach your face. • However! She’s Pike! She’s gonna get there if she wants to. • And she’ll do that however she has to, most often, climbing on furniture or the other members of VM to get to your face. • When she goes, she presses her nose to yours and grins, softly greeting you with a “hi, baby.” • Often, Vex or Percy will tell her to ‘stop standing on the damn table, that’s where we eat!’ so she does so by wrapping her arms around your neck and saying in the sweetest voice she can possibly muster “pick me up, hon???”
Cassandra • Straight up: Cassandra is so damn starved of love and affection that she’s shocked when you start showing affection towards her. • She’s quite skittish, so it does take a little while for her to settle into a position where you can kiss her without warning and she doesn’t flinch. • She’s suffered a lot and it led to her being defensive and unsure about letting strangers in. Then again, who isn’t a stranger anymore? Even her brother is… • She’s the only one that you would have to work for the affection of. • That being said, it’s absolutely worth it when you earn that affection. • You’re the person she goes to after meetings to bitch about nobles from other cities. You’re the first person she wants opinions from on passing laws and societal changes that she can control. So on and so forth. • She’s not quite at a point where she initiates physical contact that is as straightforward as hugs or kisses, but she will set her hands on your knees if you attend meetings alongside her. • If she’s feeling confident enough, she will absolutely kiss your forehead as she walks by or let her hands linger on the small of your back. • Once or twice in a blue moon, when she wakes up insanely drowsy and out of it, she will come up to wherever you are and snake her arms around your waist and hide her face in your neck – usually dozing back off. • She’s pretty tiny and easy to pick up and carry back to bed. She’s less than 100 pounds. Truly, not hard in the slightest.

Hey! You asked for individual character requests, so how about Vex x Reader (I thought I’d give you a break from EXU as well), where the reader has a massive crush on Vex, but is unfortunately really scared of Trinket? And maybe something about Vex helping them to relax and bond? Thanks regardless! I love your writing x
Thanks for requesting! This was definitely a fun one to write so I hope you enjoy! 😘

You may or may not like Vex. Okay, maybe a but more than just like, closer to a major crush but how could you not? Vex’s intelligent, quick-witted, drop dead gorgeous and don’t even get started on the woman’s charm or you might just swoon. Gods above, you’ve fallen for the half-elf hard. The worst part; you know she likes you too. She’s stated so several times, flirting with you more than anyone else and not just to get something from you. She’s not shy about it and takes every opportunity she can get to make you blush. It’s great, or would be great were it not for your very reasonable fear for big hulking bears and Vex just happens to call one such bear her closest of buddies if not closer to a fur baby.
You’re not sure what to do. Trinket, you know, is nothing short of lovely but you cannot get over your fears no matter how much you may like Vex. You’ve kept your distance and retreated within your shell every time the big grizzly is around. Bears are scary. Sharp claws and teeth, super strong. They can climb, swim and run. They’re great trackers too so there’s really no getting away from them.
“Darling, do you have a moment?” You’re seated at the table scribbling away on some paperwork you needed to take care of. Someone has to assure there’s any food and drink left after Grog has one of his solo exclusive parties again. They’re not really parties and only consist of him inviting Scanlan and Vax for a night of binging food and ale until the sun comes up but you’re always out of groceries right after.
Vex peaks around the corner leaning on the doorpost arms crossed. You put down your pen and nod. Vex nods her own head to the hallways behind her and you get the message getting up and following her to wherever she’s leading you. There’s a determination in her step but she tries to cover everything else which leaves you worried just a bit. What’s she up to?
“Vex, where are we going?” You fall in line next to her as you begin to ascend the stairs.
“Don’t worry, darling. I’ve found the perfect sight I think you might enjoy and simply wouldn’t want you to miss out before the weather changes. I’d like to discuss some things with you too so, two birds one stone?” Okay that does sound like a reasonable explanation. Maybe almost a little too reasonable now you think of it. You continue walking until you’re stopped in front of a door, Vex opens it and allows you to step in.
Immediately you see the late afternoon sun shine through the clouds, casting rays of golden light upon the landscape contrasting with the darkened grey of the rain ahead. It’s an absolutely beautiful sight. You enter the room walking up to the window as Vex steps in and closes the door behind her. You hear a grumble and a soft but forceful ‘shh’ behind you.
“Just my stomach. I’m afraid I haven’t had lunch yet. Would you like to enjoy some with me?” You turn around at the offer, seeing the table to the side set with lunch for two and a huge plate of fresh fish. A brown grizzly tries to nibble on the tail of one fish in an attempt to pull it off the plates without his momma noticing and is quickly scolded.
“Trinket! What did I say! Stay hidden!” Vex scolds the bear as you squeal making a break for the door but Vex is quicker and grabs you by the arms stroking your shoulders in a calming motion as Trinket growls in shame, for disappointing Vex and being tempted by the delicious fish.
“Let me go, Vex.” You almost beg and Vex offers you a sad smile.
“I’m afraid I can’t just yet. I wanted to ease you into this but as we’re a bit short on time, we’ll have to take this route. Now calm down, just breathe, in and out. That’s it.” You do as she says, Vex guiding you and preventing a mental breakdown of being face to face with your fear in an enclosed space. Her presence makes it a little better knowing she at least is able to control Trinket to an extend and you know he won’t attack you outright but doesn’t get rid of the fear.
“Now, are you alright to sit down or am I going to have to tie you up to prevent you from running? I’m not opposed to the latter but I think we’d both prefer better circumstances.” Vex jokes, or half jokes. You know her well enough for that. You nod and she guides you over to the table, sitting you down on one chair while taking the other next to you, rubbing circles in your back to keep some nerves at bay as trinket makes himself comfortable, laying down, eyes closed but occasionally peaking, pretending to be asleep, much akin to a young child having been told to go to bed.
“Shall we eat?” Vex gestures to the set table and you have to admit the food does look divine, maybe minus the plate of fish though. You look between her and Trinket. You can do this. You’ve been in the same space as Trinket plenty of times before. Granted, those times the spaces were much bigger and there were several people between you and the bear at all times.
“Yeah. Yeah, I think I could do with some food.” Your voice shakes but Vex smiles anyway. Small steps are better than none at all. She half expected you to have made a break for the window. She took all the precautions and ‘fear-proofed’ the room just in case. Awkwardly you’re eating and if Vex has learned one thing from animals is they don’t eat when they really mistrust the company, so people can’t be much different right? Vex attempts small talk asking you about your day and such and while you replied you always keep an eye on Trinket not so successfully pretending to be a sleep even mustering a fake snore.
Halfway through Vex keeps staring at you absentmindedly playing with her food leaning her chin upon her enclosed fist. She’s got plenty of ideas running through her head but all are circumstantial. Maybe she’ll go for a hail Mary.
“Darling, do you trust me?” The question makes you look at her confused. Have you done anything to show that you don’t? You don’t think so.
“Of course I do. You’ve saved my life more than I can count. I trust you more than anyone.” You admit a bit wary of where this is going but it’s Vex and what you said is true.
“Could you close your eyes for me?” You look between her and Trinket biting your lip. You do trust Vex but within your own head a battle between that love and trust for her and your fear for the big fuzzy animal rages on. What are you supposed to do?
Vex sees your struggle and gets up from her seat. She gracefully walks around the table making sure your eyes stay focussed on her and kneels down in front of you. Taking both of your hands in hers she squeezes them softly and gives you a gentle comforting smile.
“I want you to know your trust is not misplaced so I’ll give you this.” Vex takes the necklace from her neck and puts it around yours.
“Now I want this back when we leave this room but for now you’re in control of it. Will you close your eyes for me?” She asks once more. Her expression says enough to let you know if you don’t want this you don’t have to and literally anything but closing your eyes will show her you’re not ready yet and that would be okay. There’s no shame in taking small steps or finding a different approach. She’d come to terms with that too but she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t relieved and happy when you nodded and closed your eyes.
Darkness. That’s all you see, and the occasional movement of light outside bleeding through distorting that darkness from time to time. You’re hyper focused on your other senses and you’re unsure wether that be because of closing one sense off or because you’re practically shaking with fear awaiting for that fight or flight reaction to kick in. You smell the sweet fruit from your plate, the gentle kick of the fermented grape juice, and of course the slight saltiness of fresh fish. You hear a grumbled moan and the sound of paws-no sharp nails hitting the fine stone floor step by step almost drowned out by the soft whispers of encouragement of Vex.
Trinket, as quietly and carefully as he can makes his way over to you. Vex shushes him a couple of times and the bear loyalty obeys the commands, laying down at your side. Vex takes one of your hands and you jump a little when she does so she turns to rubbing circles in the back of it as she guides your hand away from your lap towards Trinket.
“You’re doing great.” Vex can feel the gentle shake of your hand but you don’t resist so very slowly she guides you towards Trinket until your fingers touch his fur. You breathe in sharply holding your breath upon contact and freeze up, waiting for something to happen, be that a sharp claw slashing out at you, teeth munching down on you, a roar in your face but none of these come. Even Trinket awaits in suspense for your responses, his bear senses giving him enough insight in your discomfort.
Once you’ve gotten a moment to adjust Vex takes her hand off yours watching both you and Trinket. You don’t dare open your eyes yet but in the back of your mind you hear words of encouragement. You’re doing great. You got this and before you know it your fingers glide, all be it a little rigid and awkwardly, through Trinket’s fur.
“Perfect, darling. You’re doing absolutely wonderful.” You nod afraid to speak and break the spell you definitely must be under with this newfound courage.
Vex couldn’t be more proud of you. When you walked in here she wasn’t even sure she could have you be in the same room as Trinket for more than ten minutes and now you’re petting the bear. She watches as you slowly peak through one eye and when you deem the coast clear open the other too watching in amazement.
“He’s so soft…” You breathe barely audible and Vex laughs. Trinket grumbles at the compliment making you pull away your hand and jump a little but when no repercussion comes you put it back and continue petting the bear, who begins purring softly almost akin to an oversized cat. You can still feel your heartbeat in your throat but this is going relatively okay until you begin seeing spots and you start feeling dizzy. Vex notices and pulls your hand away from Trinket offering you your glass.
“Maybe that’s enough for now? We’ll take it easy.” You nod and feel the nerves subside as Trinket returns to his comfy spot by the window. It may be best not to push your luck and drive yourself into a panic attack.
“Don’t worry, darling. Before you know it we’ll have you riding into battle on Trinket’s back. Won’t you like that Trinket?” She shouts over her shoulder to the bear who replies in a happy moan. Vex pours you another glass of wine after she watches the colour drain from your face. Let’s stick to small steps. But for now, the first ones have been taken. Besides, she can’t deny you’ll look absolutely marvellous riding into battle on her favourite Trinket.

Fuck dude, I relate to the deadweight reader sm. Pls tag me when pt 8 is out
Tumblr media
Here we are at last! The first part to the two parter finale! Thank you for supporting this series that came from a silly little idea and thank you all for seeing it get this far!
Again the stupid fucking ‘readmore’ isn’t going to be added as I don’t want half of the fic to be erased for no reason. Be it’s the new updates fault. 🤷‍♀️
“Where are we?” Keyleth asked, feeling a tad disheartened by the dead flowerbeds, dry grass the crunched like bones under foot and the decaying trees and polluted swamp that stretched out before them. “Shademurk Bog.” Their horned travel guide informed before pointing at the tree that sat at the heart of the bog. “And your friend is trapped inside there with Saurdon.” He adds.
“How are we meant to get inside? Blow it up?” Vex asked, hands on her hips and her brow cocked upwards. “That’s the idea.” The horned male says as though it’s obvious enough, “it’s an tree after all, a dead one, but a tree none the less.” The group shared looks between each other before arming themselves as they delved across the black goo swamp whisky also making sure to keep a clear mind as to not submit to Saurdon’s temptations. They were here for one reason and one reason that ever truly mattered to them; vestige or no vestige, you’ve became the treasure that they horde.
Now that someone has taken that treasure and they weren’t happy. They were furious. “Don’t worry y/n.” Vax said the closer they got to the tree that supposedly has you trapped. “We’re coming, just hang on tight.”
‘Lost, ostracised, alienated, overshadowed by your peers.’ Suardon listed off as he crept towards your still standing figure, your blacked out eyes stuck themselves to him and every action he did and yet you couldn’t find the power within to reach for your weapon and tear this twat a new arsehole. You were stun locked. Your free will to do anything was taken away, forcing you into obeisance.
‘You desire companionship that won’t treat you like a second thought or someone who is only there to be used and then quickly discarded until your services were called upon again, like a servant. You want to be treated more then just deadweight.’ He continues, stepping into your personal space now as his decrepit hand cusps your jaw as though he were handling porcelain.
‘You’re lonely y/n.” he utters in a hushed whispered as his face draw nearer and nearer to the point you could feel his breath brush against your skin, which made you feel more then repulsed then you were when you couldn’t do shit to stop this weirdo from touching your jaw. ‘I can fix that…for a price.’ Saurdon drawled, stepping just another step closer to you as you internally groaned. ‘If only you give me your heart.’
“Don’t listen to him sweetheart!” Vex’s voice cried from below, catching yours and Saurdon’s attention. “His words are void, empty promises that of which hide his true intentions!” Percy adds on.“We’re sorry! We’re so fixing sorry y/n. For everything!” Keyleth cries when she saw that the black in your eyes hadn’t disappeared after hearing Percy and Vex. “For the way we’ve ignored you, disregarded you, shunned you, distanced ourselves from you, all of that and so much more!”
Vax stepped in next to her when he saw that she was becoming too emotional to carry on her speech and seeing as he was the one to remain by your side since the tomb, he could only hope that his voice could reach you. He couldn’t loose you, not this time. Not here. “We know better now then to act as though we’ve never wronged you, that’s unfair for you and the shit we’ve put you through!” He exclaims, “we promise to do better by you because in all honesty, we’re jealous of you y/n. Vox machina would be nothing without you, we would be nothing without you! Yes we were dickheads for not talking to you about this but please…come home.”
The black in your eyes disappeared and you were quick to draw your weapon and turn on Saurdon, who was furious that his plan was ruined and used his power to send you over the edge and into solid ground, knocking your weapon from your hand as he began attacking your friends. “Fucker needs to takes rejection in a more healthier manner good god.” You groaned as you got back up to your feet, picking up your weapon as Vax came to your aid, tossing your arm over his shoulder. “Forgive us yet?” He asked.
“Not the time nor the place to ask but since your dying to know,” you told him as you set your sights on Saurdon’s back, “the jury is still out.” You concluded as you brought yourself back into the heat of battle with a fire under your arse when you saw that Percy was being overwhelmed by Suardon’s plants. Slicing and dicing through them with ease as you watched them fall pathetically.
“Thanks.” Percy said.
“No problem. Also, tree fucker has the vestige.” You replied with a smile before leaving him with that information to aid Keyleth and Vex who were more then happy to see you. “Y/n!” Keyleth shouted, setting some of Suardon’s offence aflame. “Keyleth.” You greeted, “where’s Vex?” “Fighting Saurdon.” She informed you, pointing in the way she last saw vex. You patted her on the shoulder and were about to leave to help aid Vex when the Druid stopped you. “Be careful.” She warned. “Aren’t I always?” You replied before slipping off.
By the time you caught up with Vex and Saurdon, things were looking bleak. Vex lost her bow and was hanging over the edge with Saurdon towering over her, aiming the vestige at her, reading himself in taking the killing blow. “Hey tree dick!” You shouted, catching his attention as he hissed in anger. “Step the fuck away from my friend.” Utilising the enhanced speed gifted to you by the armour, you sent yourself and Saurdon over the edge and to the ground below; allowing Vex to pull herself up over the edge. “Y/n!” She cried, “catch!” Vex then threw down the golden arrowhead Percy made her and you only looked up at her incredulously.
“The fuck am I supposed to do with this?!” You asked her and she face palmed before gesturing to Saurdon who was slowing getting back up to his feet, “stab him you dumbass! Stab him in the heart!” You quickly dashed to Saurdon, knocking back flat on his arse again, wrestling him into submission as you lifted the golden arrow head overhead and brought it down into his heart; killing him and earning your party another vestige which you the quickly gave to Vex.
You all emerged from the tree only to find a golden portal awaiting you. “This must be our ticket home.” You said and with no argument to be heard from the rest of the party, you all left the fey realm united.

Initially, you hadn’t been bitter. You didn’t fit the image one was expected to present for such a dignified social event. Not even considering your age, you were small, gangly, freckled and with hair that couldn’t keep its place. You didn’t/wouldn’t belong in a high-profile party.
Still, the joint excitement of Vox Machina had somewhat infected you. Now you found yourself wanting to attend the high-profile event. To combat your pouty face, Keyleth did your hair. Grog offered you ale, which Pike immediately shut down, and Vax tried peek-a-boo with his cloak. Ultimately, it was Percy’s promise to recount everything you’d be missing so long as you were brave and good that placated you.
Vex, you didn’t understand, was a nervous wreck. Leaving you in the keep, with no one to watch after you. Though, you would have Trinket.
It took multiple assurances from Vax and Percy before they were able to take their leave. You had the keep to yourself.
You crept with Trinket into Grog’s room. Tied only with Vex’s room, you considered his to be one of the most comfortable. With the stash of fur pelts, warm temperature and large bed, it was the perfect place to settle down until Vox returned.
After some time you heard the door, the entry to the keep open, sitting on Trinket’s back you rode to the entry. Your excitement fled upon seeing the seven in shackles, escorted by a small march of guards. In a blink, you paint yourself as a hapless child who’d only just woken. Jarrett, sympathetic to your guise, apologized for the late intrusion, explaining the terms of Vox’s arrest.
House arrest, it could be worse. Allura had essentially grounded the lot of you. Well, not you. According to Jarett, she had clarified that you were allowed to roam freely with proper adult accompaniment and so long as you returned home at a proper time.
The keep was swept clean and all the team’s weapons confiscated, including Scanlan’s instrument. Fortunately, your room was left in peace. Still, you were upset greatly watching the guards tether Trinket to a tree.
Ordered by the Sovereign to remain confined in the keep, there was nothing to do but wait. After assuring you everything would be alright, Vex passed you off to Keyleth silently mouthing an instruction to shield your ears. A thick ornate crown of lush flowers decorated your hair.
You had caught bits of what had gone down at the feast. Vax feared himself turning into a vampire. Scanlan had a book to translate. Pike was quiet. According to Grog, the food was decent.
You weren’t the type with a keen sense of smell. It was your ears that performed unnaturally well. If a tree fell in the forest and no one was around to hear it, you would. Even with Keyleth’s floral muffler, you were able to discern the biting conversation between Percival and Vex’ahlia.
Something or other about people killing Percy’s family. To be honest, you were more intrigued by the book left open on the table.
There were whispers, multiple voices at once, emanating from the dark pages. Their voices sounded distant, their words imperceptible, and yet at the same time crystal clear. Their raspy hissing voices, infecting your mind.
Stress flares up in your head. There is a moment you feel it; the fog beginning to clear. Memories starting to take shape, though still blurred like an old painting. In this moment, as certain figures began to take shape, you could feel a deep sadness traveling through every cell.
“Y/n, Magpie, are you alright?”
Vax’s voice disrupted the whispers. He had, at some point, moved. Now he knelt, crouched beside Keyleth, attention focused on you. His eyes carried a gentle concern.
Keyleth brushes a thumb across your cheeks. It’s then you realize you’re crying. Cold, silvery tears came as a frigid flood, uncontrolled and unwanted. It hadn’t been until the tender hand wiped away some of the tears that you even realized you were crying. You had no reason to, right? So you didn’t understand why you were.
Glancing to the side, over Vax’s shoulders, you notice the other members of Vox standing around the door. Percy’s peering out around the door, canvassing the corridor on the other side.
“Let’s get out of here, shall we?” Vax offered gently, extending his arms for you to jump into.
A decision had been reached between the members of Vox. You’d be breaking out. They were forced to escape under the darkness of shadow from their own keep.
Vox concluded your silent tears were the consequence of claustrophobia. A fear they understandably assumed you had, as you had been held in captivity for who knows long prior to meeting them.
This, unfortunately, was not the case.
All the while, as they twisted through the secret tunnels below the keep, you held on to Vax, trying to sort through the deluge of memories still just out of focus. The harder you tried, the more your lips trembled, tears pooling from your eyes.
Jarrett stood with a group of his men at the exit of the passage. Once again, the members of Vox found themselves under the escort of the guard. This time, though, you were all split. Vax, Vex and Scanlan had been pushed into the kitchen; Percy and Keyleth into the Percy’s workshop; Grog and Pike into the chapel.
Jarrett decided you would stay in the common area, as he believed there was little chance any of the members of Vox would try escaping without you. If only you believed that.
Fortunately, this was the room where they stored the colored chalk.
You needed to calm yourself. You stopped trying to restore the diluted memories. It made your head pound and heart sting. Instead, you settled on the stone floor and began to draw.
You could hear the whispers of a conversation between the two guards. One was complimenting your rudimentary artistic skills while also making little suggestions on how you could improve. The other was telling their partner to shut it. When the two fell silent, you looked over at them. You then extended your hand, a blue piece of chalk held between your fingers. An invitation.
Your ears twitched. You left your spot and moved to the window. As you went, you could hear an argument between the two guards over their cross hatching techniques. They did not choose the right career path.
Outside, you could hear the nervous whines of Trinket. Something was out there. Whispered hisses, not unlike those you heard emanating from the book, circled the keep. And there were screams. The kind of screams that had a raw intensity that warned of threat, and cried out of desperate need.
Moreover, there was this creeping feeling as if a dark presence was looming in your periphery, breathing icy clouds on the back of your neck. It was giving you goosebumps and a feeling of gut wrenching wrongness.
You sped to the door, only to discover the larger wooden doors were locked, and you didn’t have the key. “Slow down there, kiddo. We’re on strict orders not to let you leave this room until further notice.” One of the two guards spoke.
Your eyes narrowed, spotting the set of brass keys looped on their hip.
Your small hands pound on the door of the workshop, your little voice calling out to Percy and Keyleth, who you knew were inside. Not a moment later, the doors to the chapel busted out. They slammed against the opposite wall, splintering into pieces.
“Tiny, what’s going on!?”
You explained to Grog, as well as a child your age could you, the unsettling presence you felt closing in. Though your explanation was muddied by some fright filled babbling, both Pike and Grog appeared to take your discomfort seriously.
They rallied the others, gathering the team in the large entry of the keep. Freeing the others from their respective holding rooms, you noted, was suspiciously easy. Surely you hadn’t been the only one left under watch.
There was a discourse. Everyone was confused and on high alert. “Where is everybody?” You spoke aloud, your soft voice managing to capture Vox’s attention despite their loud conversation.
Soon after you posed the question, Jarret and three of his soldiers retreated into the building, hurriedly locking the door behind them. Immediately, they placed the blame on Vox, which you guessed was fair. But this time all in the party were, in fact, blameless.
The true assailants hid in the shadows above. Wraiths, beings who take pleasure in watching the life drain from their victims, were perched in the rafters watching the lot of you. Like predators stalking their prey. There was barely time to take arms before they took initiative and lunged for the group.
Nevermind the two guards brutally kill, it was their targeted attack on Scanlan from which Vox realized they were after the book. Eyes rolled back black inky ichor pooling from his mouth, ears, and eyelids. Vex moving quickly, grabbed the fallen spell book and passed it to Keyleth just as a wraith bled into her body.
You would be having nightmares about this.
Gathering the injured members, Vox and the last guard to remain, Jarret retreated into the war room. You were trapped. As Vex pointed out, they needed a way to fight it. You could hear the rasping, cold, hollow screams of the wraiths, even as they grew quieter, on the other side of the door.
Jarret passed Vex and Vax weapons, though even you knew such arms would be useless. Vax had tried in vain to cut through them with his dagger when they had wrenched through Scanlan. Unfortunately, their bodies were amorphous dark fluid shadows harmlessly cut through.
You had faced many threats in your time with Vox Machina. Mere days ago they’d defeated a dragon. Something about these assailants, perhaps their connection with the book, made you want to jump right out of your skin. It was paralysing. There was this foreign yet all too familiar feeling of being insignificant. Shaking, terrified, you straighten your posture awaiting the blow, you for an inexplicable reason expected to come.
You felt a hand grip your shoulder. Your defensive instincts kicked in. You went straight for the wrist, biting into what you registered as a threat. Both fortunately and unfortunately, it was only Vax. Luckily, your bite had only been a warning, no fangs.
He recoiled, his brain stuttering for a moment. He wasn’t sure what threw him more, the two puncture marks on his wrist beginning to ooze crimson or the pure look of unmatched terror in your eyes.
You had been crying earlier over what he still wasn’t sure. He’d wiped your tears and held you close. Vox had heard your pained screams and witnessed fear take over you, sending you running to hide behind one of them for safety. This terror, this raw intense dread that crippled you completely, was new.
There is a scream. Keyleth is dragged up the wall, ichor streaming from her eyes and mouth. Then the candles blow out. In one swift movement, Vax pushes you beneath the table, then ready’s himself for the inevitable battle. He'd bring up your bite later.
The sounds of Vox’s violent acts are flooded out by the noise of your heart beating in your chest. It’s the sound of war drums on the horizon, each beat taking up pace growing louder. Buh-Bum. Buh-Bum. Buh-Bum.
Silence. After a cacophony of vicious screams, the keep goes still. You feel the chill in your blood, the coldness that brought the synapses of your brain to a stand still, begin to subside. Still, your thoughts were so scattered that functioning was challenging.
“(Y/n), darling?” Vex calls out, kneeling down to see you below the table. Noting your state, she slackened her composure, her battle hardened face softened. “(Y/n), dear, I believe you’re having a panic attack. We don’t have to stay here, darling. Would you like to leave?” She offered, carefully extending a hand. You nodded and allowed her to lead you out.
The fresh air was nice and the cool breeze tickled your exposed skin. Vex stayed by your side while the others quickly gathered what was needed. Jarret had decided to release Vox against the orders of the king and allow them to handle whatever manner of being had realised such terrifying assailants.
Leaned in against Vex’s side, you were soothed by her gentle heartbeat. Trinket laid close on your other side enough so that you could stroke his fur. You had barely lifted an arm in battle. Your only true action being disarming the guards that’d watched over you, an act you’d later learned, saved their lives. Still, you were exhausted.
As things were being put into order, Vax approached, scratching at the two marks you’d left in his wrist. “(Y/n), is everything alright? Are you okay?” He asks, crouching to match your height. He was concerned you could read it on his face.
“Those things, those wraiths. You wouldn’t let them take me too, would you?”
“I believe they were only after the—" Vax begins to remind, however, he stops himself when he notices the desperate look on your face. It happens sometimes. Vox forgets you’re just a child. He flashes you one of those charming-gentle-Vax’ildan smiles. “You know we’d rip any monsters apart before we’d let them hurt you.”
You wrap your arms around his neck, standing on your tiptoes to give him a hug. “I apologise for biting you. I won’t do it again.” You whisper, relaxing into his embrace so fully it’s as if you’d melted together.
“Eh, it’s okay, Magpie. I’ve suffered worse.” Vax shrugs, peeling away from the hug.
"Now you ready to go kill some vampires?”

Little Slayer 4| TLoVM x platonic!reader
Preface| Every party had their outlier. For some, most people would think it was Scanlan of the legendary group Vox Machina. Yet as we know fate has its own working on the matter.
Enter amnesiac Y/N who happened to cross their paths. For the most part they appeared utterly normal as a human could be but well as the party would soon realize there is more to them than meets the eye.

“I can hear him,” voiced Vex as she sped along her broom, her elven-shaped ears having alerted her. “So do I,” her brother confirmed as he used the dark of the night as a cover for himself in not giving away his position.
“Insolent pest!” the dragon roared, causing the twins to stray away from sight. They were able to see he was nearby and still trying to get rid of Grog.
“You suck at this,” Grog teased as he opened his mouth with a guttural yell as he used to his advantage the Titanstone Knuckles to pound at Scargone’s skin. The dragon in question unleashed his hellfire onto himself in response, as an attempt to burn him. Vex drew close to him.
“Grog get to the top of his neck! The back of his head!” she shouted her orders at the half-giant. “Hmm? Okay.” was his response, the half-giant now using his remaining energy to now climb up the beast’s neck.
‘He’ll see what we know… now for the fun part; playing decoy...’ were among the last of Vex’s thoughts as she directed the broom to heed her command. Her brother would follow suit as she sped ahead to be seen by Scargone.
“For a beast that’s supposedly part of the Chroma Conclave; you aren’t a very good one at that matter,” she flaunted as she flew into his field of vision. “That and you would have at least recognized that we have the vestiges you seek,” added Vax as he appeared on his right.
Scargone was quiet before his eyes flickered with recognition on who exactly he was facing.
“So it appears that Vox Machina has graced my presence. Just because you were lucky enough to defeat Umbraysl does not mean you will be able to slay me…” he jeered as both twins exchanged a smirk with one another, knowing that they had him.
“I sincerely doubt that with our track record,” Vax boasted before throwing his daggers at the dark creature. “I’ll roast you on a spit…” the dragon hissed before discharging his blue flame at them.
They both worked to evade his hellfire now that they had the sky.
“That all you can do?” Vex sneered as she unsheathed Fenthras in releasing its special projectiles.
What Scargone hadn’t realized was that they were working to get him back to the center of town.
“See them?” shouted Pike as she awaited on the ground with Keyleth who wiped out the rest of the smoke and some flame. She was speaking to Percy who was perched on the roof of a building that hadn’t been badly damaged by Scargone’s attack. Using the focused lenses of his more specialized pepperbox, he used it in search of the creature.
Then he saw it, a flash of a wing. “They’re coming!” he alerted them as he moved into position along with the others.
“Scanlan do you have Mythcarver at the ready?” Pike asked the bard as she hid behind some crates alongside him. “At the ready,” he flashed her his signature smile prompting her to shake her head at his antics. He seemed more confident now that he helped to mostly finish off the last dragon they killed.
“Do you think that kid got out in time?” she heard him say. Her eyes looked over to his. “I would think so,” she replied with a reassuring look. “They’re safe, I know it.”
You watched as Scanlan and the rest quickly ran to take position for the plan they concocted after you had left. By your guess, the twins were probably trying to lure Scargone back to the center and then unleash their ambush. It was smart really.
Now in what you were going to do in contributing to the fight, you weren’t sure. As of that moment you managed to clamber up to the highest point of an unfinished tower nearby, hiding from them. You did manage to find gunpowder and some matches. Perhaps it was meant to be demolished.
But you couldn’t focus on that matter as your hearing picked up the flapping of wings and then… a blast of thunder?
Suddenly the tower trembled with a loud boom before a jolt. The ground seemed to tremble as it knocked you from where you stood, your arms spreading wide in an attempt to hold yourself upright by grabbing whatever was closest to you.
“RrrRRRAHHH!” an unmistakable war cry perforated your hearing. Only one person you knew sounded like that.
Quickly clambering up, your suspicions were proven correct as you saw Grog near the dragon’s head, having pummeled him with the gauntlets he wore. The faint glow of them pierced the darkness of the night before he raised his fists once more to send another strike to the animal’s skull.
It was then the others appeared at the ready, Percy having leaped over rooftops to shoot the right side of Scargone’s exposed gills while Keyleth came forward, using her Druid magic, to summon large vines from the ground to pin down his head, snout, and body.
Scanlan assisted by maneuvering the vines to go this way using his bard magic while Vex and Vax, who arrived at that moment, also focused their attacks alongside Percy and Grog. Vax relinquishing the wings from the Matron of Ravens as he landed beside Grog, the two of them now working to impact the right side of the jawbone.
Pike using the power of Everlight raised her mace to the sky summoning light to hit the dragon’s head. The plan was working as the cries of agony from Scargone filled the night air. Surely they would win.
“Almost there, keep going!” grunted Vax as he continually stabbed the beast, blood splattering on his armor and face.
‘This feels too easy… I feel like they are forgetting somethin–’ were among your thoughts before you saw it; Scargone raising his tail to strike himself though more importantly Grog and Vax who were on the base of his neck.
Keyleth saw it as well and was too slow to react in time as she summoned vines to hold his tail in place but the force ripped them out of the ground. She was knocked back by the blowback of the vines, sending her to the ground.
“Brother look out!” Vex shouted in warning as the tail struck where they were. A crunch was heard and in their distraction, Scargone worked to get free from his other bindings. “Oh shit no!” Scanlan cursed as he tried to reattach the vines but they deteriorated even more.
“Get him back down!” yelled Percy as he still worked to fire round after round into the gills. “I’m trying!” the gnome barked in reply but the beast swung his tail once more, this time expanding its range as it went toward him and Percy where he was perched. The de Rolo saw it coming and took off running to get away but he was too late as it struck him, making him fly back into a building some feet away. Scanlan ducked yet his eyes widened in surprise as he saw the gunsmith fly in the air.
“Percy!” Pike exclaimed as she raised her hand once more to summon Everlight but Scargone blew his flame at her even though his snout was binded as it was more focused and as a result made the fire hotter than before. She quickly dodged out of the way, creating a shield to protect her further but was almost crushed when the hellish dragon used its feet in an attempt at killing them.
“You really think that would have held me down? You even forgot my tail!” bellowed the beast as he moved his head to rid of the last of the vines. “But now, you’ll face my fury!”
Scargone focused his breath as he spread the blue fire in the air and on the ground, trying to cremate the party from sight as well as swinging his tail to crush them.
“Scanlan give me Mythcarver!” Vax had survived alongside Grog who was propped up by the half-elf as they exited one of the alleyways that led into the center. Both of Grog’s legs had been crushed which was where the crunch came from earlier. Blood spilled on the ground, even though the half-giant still wanted to fight.
Said bard on the other hand happened to be nearby as he ducked for cover from the flame. “We gotta stab it in the eye like last time.” “Yeah but that was because of me!” Scanlan pointed out as in the background Keyleth who had recovered worked with Pike to hold down Scargone’s wings to prevent him from flying.
“I know that– just give me it!” Vax asserted as the gnome went to take out the blade from his side only to find nothing there.
“What the, it was just here!?” “You lost it?!”
“I think I see where it is!” Grog interrupted them as they turned their attention to see that the vestige was impaled on Scargone’s left foot.
“You gotta be kidding me…” groaned Vex as she came near them. She was busy trying to avoid the flame that the black beast was trying to cremate her with, as evidenced by the soot staining her body. “Glad to see you’re alive brother.” “Trying to…” her twin replied as they all ducked for cover, the beast trying to walk toward them but was still held back by the efforts of the air Ashari and cleric.
“There is no way in hell he is going to let us go near him; he’s more pissed than ever!” uttered the bard who now grew weary from the fight. “He’ll see me coming now that there is more light…” sighed Vax.
“Percy’s out, wherever he is and Pike looks like she’s going to drop any moment… what do we do?”
‘This is bad, they are going to get killed at this point!’ you couldn’t help but panic as you witnessed beforehand the discord that unleashed when Scargone’s tail was not held down.
The man with glasses was gone and now everyone else was scattered in disorganized chaos in trying to hold down the so-called member of the Chroma Conclave.
‘What do I do, they are just throwing whatever at him!’ you found yourself pacing on the still-standing structure. But it was when you were pacing that a glimmer of something caught your eye.
A sword was lodged into Scargone’s foot and you found yourself entranced by it.
It seemed to be calling you.
You needed that sword.
Quickly you ran down the steps of the tower, the battle from outside still made noise even within the tower.
You knew what you were going to do next was not just stupid but dangerous as hell; however, all you could feel in that moment was the adrenaline coursing through your veins. You finally reached the ground floor, bursting out of the entrance as you looked to see where the sword was.
Your eyes were quick to find it and to your advantage, it was on the left, near where you were, and without a moment to waste; you ran straight toward it.
The others were quick to see something moving fast toward the beast, not recognizing who it was until Scanlan screamed, “It’s the kid!?”
“I thought they left!” Vax exclaimed in utter shock as he dropped Grog to race after you. “Save my pet!” the Goliath yelled at his retreating form as Scanlan ran after the half-elf.
Vex was swatted against a building, landing near Grog before looking up to see her brother and Scanlan running toward Scargone. It was then she saw you.
“You gotta be kidding me…” she groaned as she watched her brother and the gnome evade the flames.
Scargone had heard them say something about a child, looking on both sides to finally spot you on his left. “How delicious, a snack…” he snarled as he sent that dastard blue fire at you.
“Shit!” you yelled as you saw the incoming attack.
“NO!” Scanlan and Vax said in unison as they and the others watched you engulfed by fire.
They were too late.

Love your reader x Percy + Vex polyships, could I request some headcannons for them both with a male or g!n reader who’s really skilled at magic, which makes them a total powerhouse in combat, but also allows them to enchant Percy’s guns with powerful magic enhancements and his clothes with protective wards to keep him safe, and also if they’re at a shop with Vex and there’s something expensive she wants, they can modify the shopkeepers memory to make them think that they’ve already paid for it?
S/O Is Skilled with Magic
FANDOM: Critical Role
Character(s): Percy De Rolo, Vex’ahlia
Type of Request: Headcanons
Note(s): Sure thing!!
Tumblr media
Okay so they both love that you're skilled in magic because magic is very helpful and you can do a lot with it.
Percy might make a couple comments now and then about how he prefers tinkering instead of you manipulating things with spells.
Of course he won't stop you in combat if you help give his guns a bit of a boost with your magic. Might take note of whatever you did to his guns to see if he's able to make something that gives his guns that affect permanently.
So Vex is chaotic good and if she sees you modifying a shopkeeper's memory then she's going to be very annoyed for multiple reasons. I mean that shopkeep is just doing their job and you're trying to rob them.
If the shopkeeper is an asshole that's entirely different, but she much prefers to just haggle for goods.
Now she wouldn't mind if you gave her a boost so she's better at haggling, but please don't modify any shopkeeper's memories.
