“Well,” you say with a sigh, “I can’t read any ancient languages, so can you just help me out here?”

“Oh duh. Sorry about that, master. Old habits die hard, even if said habits are a few millennia old. We’re currently speaking… ah, yes! English! Easy peezy squeezy my buttcheeks. There you go.”

You look at your phone again. The mass of text bubbles all over the screen are now written in English. It’s still… a lot of nonsense.

“Just point me to the important parts?”

“Of course! Let’s just make you a little more comfortable.”

By the time she finishes the sentence, you’re in your room, sitting on the edge of your bed with Joy pressing her chest into your back. She reaches over your shoulders and speaks softly into your ear as she taps your phone.

“So here we have your Harem Hub, which is where you’ll be spending a decent amount of time swapping back and forth between screens. Where you’ll be spending most of your time…”

Joy touches an image of a tower with gold coins spilling out of it.

“… is here, in your Inventory—it’s called that because you own the people in your harem like they’re inanimate possessions—, where you can organize, sort, search, and summon the members of your harem as desired. As you can see, it’s currently empty, so let’s go back to the Harem Hub.”

While Joy pokes around with one hand, the other is softly rubbing your shoulder. It’s quite relaxing. Come to think of it, you are a little tired.

“Right in the center of the Harem Hub is the Summoning Portal, which summons anime girls to your Inventory, not into the real world, which is a different kind of summoning. Let’s give it a try now and see who you get!”

Before you can do anything yourself, Joy taps the portal and the app begins a series of over the top animations of overlapping summoning circles and colorful overlays. About fifteen seconds later, a naked anime girl with a pitch black hime haircut, nearly black eyes, and rather small breasts flashes on screen. She looks like pretty much every other anime character being drawn these days.

Joy gasps very dramatically, “Oh my gosh, master! You got Anecha on your first try! But she… she’s a Super Rare! You only had a zero point three percent chance of that happening! She’s from the mythical land of Sorgania, and she’s a hybrid of all three class archetypes, able to spec into any skill tree you want! She’s one of—if not the—most versatile girls you can get!”

“That’s cool,” you mutter, “Can we summon her and get fucking?”

“Oh master, you’re so funny. You can’t summon a character naked.”

“But, the whole point is to have sex with her…”

“Well yeah, but when you’re not having sex with her, she’s going to be questing! We’ll get to that in a minute. First, check it out. She was just the rarest of your summons for this pull,” Joy wraps her legs around you, fully bear hugging you from behind while she yammers on, “You also got Heyri, Emi, Bonnie, and Magz. That will make for a pretty balanced party, though you can expect Anecha to handle basically everything on her own until you get to World 4, at least. Obviously though, we need to go back to tow—I mean the Harem Hub to purchase some basic equipment. No, not that shop. That’s the cash shop where you can get more summoning shards. Right here, at the Blacksmith. You’ll want to equip Anecha first to make the first few quests as easy as possible, and you’ve got all these coins ready to go, so… Oh, fantastic! Tim has lava katanas in stock, so we absolutely have to take advantage of that in the next two minutes. We better make sure some of your other girls can benefit from those stats though, so if we check the party status screen you can see their preferred stats are highlighted in gold. It looks like Emi prefers Gumption, so a lava katana is—”

Joy’s words fade into the ether and your eyes drift shut. She’s so warm, holding you like this…

“… and that’s why you always save up your electrum ingots. You don’t want to be willy-nilly turning those into…”

“… obviously, but don’t forget that any skill cooldown can be refreshed by…”

“… back from the arena! We should go congratulate her for defeating the sand kraken, because that will bump up the congratulatory meter. Sometimes you want to hold back though, since doing it too often will give diminishing returns…”

You’re woken up by the sound of squawking birds outside and sunlight blasting your eyes through the window. You’re on your back, legs hanging off the bed. Looking to the side, you see Joy, still naked and hunched over, tapping your phone. “I know it’s labeled as a PVP mode, but since the magic is actually built into you and not the app, that’s not actually a thing. The other players’ names and teams are just randomly generated but slightly optimized versions of your own builds so that you get an idea for what’s actually possible when you spend your gems properly.”

With a yawn, you sit up, make note of your own nudity, and flinch back as you nearly headbutt a new stranger standing at the foot of your bed. “What the fu—who are you?!”

It’s a woman, wearing a skimpy purple bikini with silver trim and blue ribbons hanging off of it. Her hair and fairly large eyes are dark, midnight black. Despite the fact that she’s holding what definitely appears to be a katana made out of lava, she looks a little bit nervous. “S-sorry, master. She,” she points at Joy, who is paying you no mind, ”um, she told me to stand here and wait after summoning me…”

You look her up and down. She’s… taller than you thought she’d be, and her face is a little rounder than it had looked in the image. That picture didn’t do her pouty lower lip or her flared out hip any amount of justice. “Anecha?”

“Sorry, master. It’s pronounced ‘AH-neck-ah,’ but… No, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t correct you. Sorry.”

Options:

Um, it’s the morning now. You need to go to work already. You’re probably late.

Responsibilities can wait because they’re for losers. Get a blowjob from Anecha.

Pokemon Horizons Episode 40 Review - Sprigatito's Origins

Wow, Sprigatito’s origins are revealed! It’s interesting how Sprigatito knew where she came from and even came back to visit. It’s also nice to learn how these starters come to be and how they get sent off to schools and labs for beginning trainers. In Sprigatito’s case, she came from a breeder who specializes in breeding feline Pokemon. This is also the episode where I learn that the Sneasel line are felines. I don’t know how to feel about this considering I’ve thought of them as weasels until now.

The title is definitely bait, as Sprigatito doesn’t actually leave Liko but just wants some time away from her because of her actions. She loves Liko a lot, but she worries about her strength. It turns out that Liko’s Sprigatito is a bit different from the rest. She’s a lot stronger than her siblings, and when she was trying to protect them from a Spidops that tried to attack her siblings, her Leafage had hurt them in the process, causing them to avoid her. It turns out that while she was a bit wary of Liko, she saw her in the interview screen at Indigo Academy by chance and felt as if they were destined to be partners; imagine a story where Liko didn’t get Sprigatito as a partner…

I do like the growth that Liko shows here. If this was Liko in the beginning, she’d be wallowing with self-doubt and wonder if she would fit as Sprigatito’s partner. However, Liko has changed. Instead of wallowing in the past, she tries to understand her partner’s feeling by trying to communicate with her. I like that! She even said to Sprigatito that she didn’t mind if she scratches her because she did that when they first met. I also like Sprigatito’s growth too! She learned Magical Leaf, meaning no more Leafage spam, hopefully.

Speaking of growth, Hatenna seems to be growing too! Liko told her to look after Terapagos and she got all excited like a big sister finally getting responsibilities from her mother! If Liko’s party were a family, Liko would be the mom, Sprigatito would be the eldest, Hatenna would be the middle child and Terapagos would be the baby (despite it being the oldest). She even chased after Terapagos when it ran off, showing that she’s not afraid to leave the ship to search for it! Such a big change for a timid Pokemon!

The breeder who raised Sprigatito, Manya, is a very nice lady. She feels like she is what Liko could be if she was older as she’s someone who read Liko and Sprigatito’s feelings very well. I do like how she’s the one explaining Sprigatito’s backstory and how she was there when Liko was being interviewed by Indigo Academy. I think it’s so cool to see the person who brought Sprigatito into the world; I don’t think we had an instance where a partner Pokemon knew who brought them to this world. Please correct me if I am wrong. My only gripe is that I’d like to learn a bit more about Manya, but it makes sense to not learn too much about her as Sprigatito is the star. Manya is voiced by Mie Sonozaki, who voices Cynthia in Masters and voiced Lusamine in Pokemon Evolutions. I feel like Horizons really like bringing in voice actors who have done roles in different media or in past works relating to Pokemon.

I like how Roy is such a nice boy. When Liko sprained her wrist, he immediately helped her up and took her to see Mollie and even waited at the clinic with her. He’s a good friend. Though, it does seem like Fuecoco hasn’t forgotten Ember. Now that Liko has beaten Roy in a battle, it should be time for him stop spamming Ember.

Right now, my only concern for Sprigatito is her future. The Sprigatito line primarily focuses on Speed and Attack stats. She rarely uses her physical moves and prefers to use Leafage and now Magical Leaf, which are special moves. Either Sprigatito needs more development in order to bring out her true potential or she’s going to be a very weak Meowscarada if she focuses only on Special moves. But those are just my thoughts. so there can't be a genocide because the numbers don't support it, but the numbers can't be gathered because there's a war going on and nobody can be trusted. So....we won't know until the genocide is done, correct?

Kind of like recessions, genocides do tend to be the kind of thing debated in international courts after the fact. Much scrutiny in this conflict is debating the intent, actions, possibilities etc. which is all healthy, even if it is micromanaged by an armchair army of idiots.

The IDF absolutely has the firepower to level Gaza, this isn't a peer to peer conflict and there needs to be restraint and focus in their actions. The Oct 7 attacks were definitely war crimes that were meant to prompt a reaction from Israel, but they were perhaps overly successful in the sheer number of murders (videotaped with their own body cameras, there's no shortage of evidence but there won't be criminal prosecutions since most of the fighters died and the ones who made it back with hostages may have destroyed evidence by now).

In the Ukraine war, the propaganda is pierced to some degree with internationally verifiable and geolocated footage. For example, satellite images of mass graves or bombings of civilian corridors, or even fresh graves in cemeteries helps to estimate both combat and civilians deaths. Ukraine's official stance on its casualties is 'heroes never die!' so... uh.. yeah, it's very normal for governments to lie about their stats. Hamas is a bit different because it doesn't appear to be as concerned about panicking its civilian population as it is about making Israel look bad. Most governments want civilian support and don't want people to panic and turn against their leadership. Hamas is unusual in this regard. The Shifa hospital incident with 'thousands dead' until it turned out to be a PIJ rocket misfiring and landing in its parking lot suggests the direction they are willing to lie. They weren't allowing international observers into the area to independently confirm info, which contrasts with Ukraine that has allowed investigators into Bucha for example, because Ukraine is serious about trying to lay charges of genocide against Russia. Hamas is mostly waging a PR war, and winning, and no evidence is really needed.

It's also important to remember that the numbers Hamas releases gives no information about how many combatants and how many civilians were killed. If 1000 people died in a day, and 1000 of them were Hamas fighters, not many people would express dismay. But that's only part of why Hamas presents its statistics like that - it regards this conflict as total war. To them, there are no civilians in Israel or Gaza. Every child is a future fighter. That's why the leader of Hamas could say they didn't kill any civilians on October 7th (it's an interview with the Economist if you want to listen). Those people partying at a concert ?- soldiers. That 10 month old baby? - future soldier. And their own population? - soldiers who should be willing to die in the great jihad. Or they're traitors, and traitors should be killed.

MEMRI is not an unbiased source but it can help bridge the language barrier to better understand this conflict by seeing the kind of media that is NOT intended for Western consumption. It's noticeably different. https://www.memri.org/ You can find a consistent policy for total war and the use of human shields as a legitimate tactic in the rhetoric. I recommend searching older pre-Oct 7 videos to explore deeper philosophical views about the conflict and end goals.

Also, not an unbiased source, but this twitter account will translate some of the propaganda produced for the Palestinian audience.

As always, think for yourself and bring a critical eye to of all the information you ingest.

They’d been looking for Clone Trooper Dogma for two days and Cody was starting to fear the worst.

They’d been searching for Dogma ever since the 212th finished their last engagement and Rex had contacted Cody, desperate and without options. The 501st was called back to Coruscant without any flexibility and they weren’t able to look for Dogma. It had been a few days before the 212th had been able to start searching and Cody was worried.

The trooper was in handcuffs and without armor, according to Rex. He wouldn’t be any sort of match against the wilds of Umbara and Cody couldn’t help but wonder if the Umbarans or their planetary nightmares had already gotten to him. It was hard to pick up any sort of trail, the only signs of clone life coming from the armies that had been there before.

It was Boil that found the first clue, as they traversed wilderness that showed no signs of their armies passing through.

“Commander!” He held up a ration wrapper that had been laying on the ground. “It’s not been here long, sir. Couple days, tops, from the look of it. Troopers weren’t in this area.”

Cody twisted his head, looking around. “He can’t be far. Captain Rex said he didn’t have any supplies, so even if the ration was his, he didn’t have much else.”

“If he’s even still alive, sir.” Boil scowled, not an uncommon expression on his face but even more so since Waxer had died. “I’ll run the scans again, see what I can find.”

Cody nodded and turned away, only to pause as he caught sight of something unusual. Underneath one of the nearby plants, one with big leafy growth that glowed unnaturally, the shadows didn’t look quite right. He took a step closer and could just make out what seemed to be a hand.

“Over here!”

Cody reached the vod first, taking in the sight before him. The trooper looked to be almost dead, curled into a fetal position with only a thin blanket wrapped around his shoulders, protecting him from little of the elements. Cody felt his neck and wrist for a pulse, breathing easier once he found it. They weren’t too late yet. Cody pulled him into a sitting position and hooked his arms under the vod’s knees and shoulders, picking him up.

He weighed concerningly little.

“He’s alive.” Boil was right behind Cody, looking at the younger clone in surprise. “I wasn’t sure he would be.”

“He won’t be if we don’t get him to Helix.” Their chief medic was in another search party at the moment. “Radio the rest of the search parties and have them report back to base, stat.”

“Yes Commander.”

Cody looked down and was startled to see Dogma’s eyes open, unfocused and confused, blinking as he took in his surroundings. He looked up at Cody as if he couldn’t believe he was real.

“There you go, kid. Rest, vod. We’ve got you.” Cody watched as the young clone’s eyes slid closed again and felt a surge of protectiveness. They just needed to keep him alive and they’d figure it out from there.

Something has gone wrong with time itself. Many of the famous faces you recognise have been caught up in it, having found a mysterious new phone about their person which allows them to enter a chatroom full of familiar and new people in the same situation. Moreover, there are these weird blue portals showing up. Step into one, and you can find yourself in another part of the timeline entirely.

Rayfa’s found out about the revolution early and somehow wound up friends with Matt Engarde. Kay (2019) has adopted Miles (2027). Athena (2028) and Metis (from mere days before her demise) had a mother-daughter dinner while Aura (days after Metis’ death) tries to come to terms with what her grief made her do will do? Might have done? Tenses have become kind of hard to manage. Especially with Esmeralda Tuspells time-hopping to capture the likeness of all the most interesting future criminals, and Apollo briefly finding himself in the midst of Sholmes’ experiments in 1900…

Im just gonna make a bg3 hot takes post

First off i do think this is a good game, and with one really stupid exception i really like the role-playing aspect of the game.

Im playing on steam deck so if these arent a problem on pc...we should yell at larian to change it.

1) roleplaying problem, why in the fuck can i not see my characters stats when selecting skill options in dialog?????

2) why is the placement of fast travel points really poorly thought out? Like 2 are basically next to each other but the closest one to the first town requires waiting for a gate (loading screen?) And they just arbitrarily placed it seems?

3) why do i need to go back to camp and talk to 2 different ppl and wait for the game to reload their experience and lvls in order to swap out party members? And this seems to be the only way to?

4) larian doesn't understand how to do inventory systems, its cluttered and messy

5) the traps!!! Seeing traps is random, not seeming to be used like passive perception on the tabletop. And then when you do see it, since you cannot pause the game for any fucking reason, the party might just step on it anyway cuz fuck yourself. Then it costs resources to disarm and doesnt give you anything. Also you cant active search for traps... idk how this got past the design stage.

6) lurking on reddit and forums it seems like playing the combat like a dnd game is really hard, but the game is braindead easy if you DOS2 cheese it. Personally i think thats kinda terrible, but not to the dos2 lvls that made me quit the game yet. At least combat is fun when it feels like the game is being fair.

7) like all games enemy ai is terrible. Enemies will suicide themselves, running across the whole battlefield, to hit your weakest guy because fuck you. Even on normal they do this, when hard mode was supposed to change their ai to this so who knows.

8) let me customize controls or ui while controller is enabled wtf

9) personal thing but i dont like the area design, in that the giant act 1 map is needlessly large and load times would probably be better if it was split up into smaller, more cohesive zones. I dont think the current way of doing it adds to a "grand feel" and just has more downtime when backtracking trying to get like 30 more xp to lvl up to be able to fight a boss without cheeseing the shit out of it.

10) attacks of opportunity, LOS changes, and general clarity in combat need to be improved. Like there is a reaction system, pause the game and let me know when ill get attacked for moving because its a bit inconsistent, and holy fuck there has to be a popup if you end turn without doing anything cuz of a misclick. If that shitty mafia xcom knockoff i played 10 years ago can do line of sight notifications on movement well AAA games have no excuse.

PR6 SPECULATIONS - Ironblood

In honor of Mainz (my precious little meowmeow) getting a skin, I've decided that the next nation to get a post is the Ironblood. Honestly I intended to do Eagle Union first lol.

Just like last post: Do not treat any of the following choics as guaranteed. I would not bet money on any of these specific ones getting added as part of PR6 this year, it's just the ships I see as Very LikelyTM.

Also, I will tell you which ones I think could be Priority Research (SSR) or Decisive Research (UR). Because I'm sure we could get another Ironblood DR.

Schröder

Let's begin with a possible DR, Schröder.

She's a large cruiser. Yes. But before you get your pitchforks out, Schröder could be the different large cruiser some of y'all have been wanting to get.

No torpedoes, but scarily good secondary armament (I'm talking as good as Odin in AL, but in the vanguard). Extreme speeds and evasion stats, she's a fast as fuck ship. On top of that, she has somewhat weak armor.

All of this combined would make Schröder a certainly unique shipgirl, vastly different from all the other large cruisers: a somewhat spongy (but not too tanky), super fast fire-setting ship.

Max Immelmann

The second possible DR, Max Immelmann. She's an aircraft carrier with only torpedo bombers and skip bombers, on top of having great armor and secondaries (she's literally an FdG with a runway on top).

Honestly, she's kinda bad in WoWs. She's hyped too much because she's marginally better than Manfred von Richtofen, the other Tier 10 German CV; but that's not saying much.

She would be a bomb spammer for sure.

Anhalt

This monstrosity you see is the German battlecruiser Anhalt. She has 15 305mm guns that are extremely accurate with a respectable 21.1km range, meaning she's a snipper. Her guns don't deal a lot of damage (because they're very low caliber) but she's somewhat agile and fast (not as much as Zieten, which is a mini Rupprecht) so she can get behind cover if needed.

Schultz

The Schultz is an enlarged destroyer - basically a light cruiser cosplaying as a destroyer. Unlike Dido or Atlanta or other ships that straddle the line between DD and CL, the Schultz doesn't fire too much, nor does she fire too fast. She's mediocre.

Her torpedoes hit hard it you can prepare an entire tea party while they reload. She has no hydro, making her instantly weaker than the other German DDs.

Still, she could be an extremely tanky destroyer.

Pommern

You know her by now, probably. The half-sister of FdG, Pommern.

She's one of my favorites. The pinnacle of German battleship gameplay in WoWs - meh caliber (380mm, low for her tier), torpedoes, brilliant secondary guns, terrible stern turret angles, amazing armor that gets negated by her huge superstructure, and hydroacoustic search.

She could be a PR version of FdG that fires torpedoes ala Odin.

Preussen

The last pick for a DR, Preussen.

With a proper build, you could have a Preussen with scary secondaries who also shoots every 21.1 seconds. 21.1 seconds. Tirpitz, a fast firing battleship, reloads every 26.

And with guns as big as Preussen's (457mm), being able to fire every 21.1 seconds means you don't have to worry about accuracy betraying you. By the time the shells arrive at the objective, your next salvo is about to be loaded.

Isao/Mateo is a glassworker who inherited his shop when his grandfather passed on. Unfortunately, he's a bit of an insecure perfectionist. He refuses to sell his work because the stuff he just started making can't live up to his grandfather's decades of experience, and is therefore trash.

What he needs is to get over himself and realize that art is a skill you hone over time. Refusing to publish your story because you don't think it's as good as The Lord of the Rings will get you nowhere. Everyone has to start somewhere. Those who waffle over their draft until it's "perfect"? They're the ones who never publish anything at all.

But Isao's pretty sure he just needs to see the Crystal Onix, a unique Interactable Pokemon rumored to exist somewhere on the island's map. Seeing the Crystal Onix inspired his grandpa, so he figures he can become the same caliber of artist by just following the same procedure.

I don't think that's how this works, my guy.

To search for the Crystal Onix, Tracey reveals his second Pokemon: The Gen 2 Pokemon PIKABLU-- I mean, Marill. Now everyone in the party has a Johto Pokemon! Except Ash.

Marill finds their mark and Mateo reveals he thoroughly misunderstood the point of his grandfather's story by trying to defeat and capture the Crystal Onix.

This isn't a spur of the moment decision, either. He's been training a Cloyster specifically for this moment. And yeah, dude did his research. Cloyster's Ice weakness to Rock is far outweighed by their 180 base Defense; the second-highest of any stat in the game. Meanwhile, Onix has 2x weakness to Ice and 4x to Water, both of which can easily penetrate their dismal 30 Special.

And I want very badly to punch him in the face because training this Cloyster to try and gank the Crystal Onix is seriously what he's been doing rather than putting in the effort to hone his craft? The man's running a glassware business that is rapidly going out of business for lack of merchandise, he has a little sister to feed, and he splurged on a Water Stone?

I think Mateo might just be a bastard. I regret starting this side quest.

This plan amounts to nothing, though. It was a good plan, but Crystal Onix is a unique variant form whose Typing resists Water. (Probably Ice Type.)

Mateo seems to figure that out as well, as he switches to his Charmeleon. This one was not trained for this specific task like Cloyster, but instead to help Mateo with glasswork. But Ice is weak to Fire so the logic checks out.

This is a perilous decision as Crystal Onix still has moves like Rock Slide, but the ever-broken G1 Fire Spin wins the day. Mateo defeats Crystal Onix, and the light emanating from its super-heated surface bestows on him some supernatural power that will allow him to make great glasswork like his grandpa.

Just like that, we have successfully mugged a unique and mysterious Pokemon and stolen some sort of heavenly blessing from it that shortcuts artists into being instant masters of their craft, no effort required.

I don't feel very good about this outcome.

A Comprehensive Guide To The Ao3 Tagging System

There may be other ways to do it, but this is the way I do it. I see a lot of people on, like, wattpad and ff.net who don’t go on ao3 because it’s tagging system is intimidating, but speaking from an ao3 perspective, wattpad and ff.net’s tagging systems are almost unusable. So, here’s a guide to fix that gap!

Okay, so when you get to the home page it should look something like this

There are multiple different ways to do this, but the easiest way is to click on the search button in the top right hand corner. You don’t need to put anything into the search bar to be able to search. After you do that, it should look something like this

After this, you click on the search bar again. That should take you to a page that looks like this

From this, it’s pretty self explanatory, and you can press on the blue question marks if you don’t understand.

Here are the kinks: if you use the title and it doesn’t turn up the fic you want, it doesn’t mean necessarily that the fic isn’t on the archive. Sometimes it glitches and doesn’t show it up, which means if your trying to find a fic you’ve already read your better chance is to memorize the authors username, because that doesn’t happen with usernames.

The date field doesn’t work, it’ll show you up nothing.

For the word count, you can’t do specific numbers. If you type in 10,000, it will only pull up fics with exactly 10,000 words, which is why you have to use < and >. But the thing about that is that they’re switched around. So if you typed in >10000, it’ll show up more than ten thousand, and vice versa. (It won’t understand if you use commas.)

For the character, relationships, and additional tags- when you type anything in, it’ll bring a drop down menu of the sites predictions for what you might mean. But the thing is, if you just typed in, for example, ‘parental aizawa’, and put that in as a tag, nothing would show up, because there are no tags that are exactly just ‘parental aizawa’. There’s no AI involved, it’s not gonna predict you. If you wanted to get the parental aizawa tag, you’d have to type in the whole “ Parental | Aizawa Shouta | Eraserhead | Dadzawa” tag, otherwise it’ll search for exactly the tag you searched for and nothing will come up. (But obviously, no one types in the whole tags. You just use the recommended official tags that come through the drop-down.) Not all ao3 tags that are in use are official, though. There are, sort of, ‘tropes’ for ao3 tags that translate to multiple different ideas for different characters, but there are too many of them to list out, and we don’t need to because you’ll start memorizing without even trying the more you search.

Oh also, unrelated to the search terms: if you’re writing a fic, don’t write it in the official ao3 writing box. If you exit the site, there’s a good chance it’ll erase the work. (Oh and choose your font before, otherwise it’ll glitch and erase all your paragraph breaks.) this glitch is noted in the site. Oh also- drafts are only saved for a month after the original editing date. Your better choice would just be to write in a third party app.

Back on topic. Most of the tags are really self explanatory if you just look at them, so it feels a bit redundant to me to explain them, but that’s the main reason it feels so overwhelming to people, so I’m going to do it. Disclaimer: you don’t have to fill out every section of the form before searching for a work.

The ‘any field’ tag is tricky and finicky, and tbh, it’s better left alone if you’re just learning the tagging system. Your least important ones, (at least by my experience,) are the date, title, and the work stats. They’re more trouble than they’re worth.

The author/artist tag is exactly what it sounds like. You put in someone’s exact username, (it has to be exact,) and it’ll show you all of their works (that match with whatever other specifications you’ve put in.)

The ‘completion status’, ‘crossovers’ and ‘single chapter’ are easy, because you just click one. If you don’t click that you want a single chapter, it will give you both single and multiple works.

The language section is a giant drop down, it’s organized a-z. Most of the archives fics are in English, so you probably don’t really have to worry about it. If you don’t click on any language, it’ll show you every fic that ,atches your other specifications, and they might not be in English. (But most of them are, so you really don’t need to worry about it.)

Personally, I find I don’t usually specify on the ‘ratings, warnings, and categories’ options, but it really depends on what you’re looking for. But those are fairly easy, you just choose an option if you want to. If you don’t specify, it’ll factor that out and show you everything.

That’s about it. You can look at the little blue question marks next to the sections for more details.
