HOWEVER, I've never heard Daniel becoming James Lee before and I find that concept very interesting. I'm not sure if PTJ is leading Daniel towards that path of him becoming the new "James Lee", since he is a self-righteous character who seeks truth.

Even though I find this moment to be very cool, I worry that Daniel might create more enemies for himself and I hope he doesn't kill anyone then spiral into long-term guilt like James Lee.

From your posts so far I feel like you have such a wide variety of understanding complex characters. How do you think you would tackle writing for Todoroki Touya, and have you ever considered any storyline for him? What kind of civilian reader do you think you’d craft for him if so?

beyond a post-canon bonnie and clyde AU, i’ve never really seriously considered a fic for dabbers. 🧐 he’s a fun character in canon, but to me that’s because he’s a walking tragedy—his hatred and desperation for his father. his resentment of his perfect baby brother. the way both of those things blindside him to his other brother, his sister, their mum. i don’t see him as like, the fun flirty bad boy that i think was a given read of him, earlier in BNHA—i think what he eventually goes through will profoundly change him, if he lives. it’ll take hard work for him to get to a place where he can be like, happy with the family that’s reaching out to him—his father, his mother, his siblings…. his perfect baby brother.

for a post-canon dabbers fic, i’d probably strike at the in-between time between him physically and mentally healing—like, his injuries have been treated, he’s gotten physical therapy. maybe he has a prosthetic arm like his arm, or a cane to help him walk but he can do things, he can physically be apart of the world again—but he still bubbles with his resentment. touya’s a massive fazacon in canon and everyone who disagrees with me can argue with a wall LMAOOO i’m right about this forever, but like, for a x reader fic i think that means competition for his attention on a very base level, you know? like, how do you bond with and romance a guy that’s constantly sour about how his father ruined his life??? to me that means you benefit best from having a Reader-insert who either has their own baggage, or is nihilistic enough to laugh his off LOL. and i think if you’re going to make them both like, kinda unrepentant assholes, you’re almost obligated to give them a happy ending??? or rather—that’s how i would write it. like with the dabi/bonnie & reader/clyde idea, i would set it up so that they both think they’re gonna die at the end of it, that the reader (lowercase) thinks they’re gonna die, that endeavour and rei and the todo siblings (minus Shouto) think they’re gonna die—and then at the end they don’t. one of them—maybe dabi himself, because i think we owe him that chance—tries to pull a stunt that like, lets Reader live, say. maybe he meets up with his perfect baby brother at some stage during the Crime Spree and it’s Shouto who’s like, I can help you. I can help both of you, please let me, and at first Dabi’s furious (how fucking dare this useless squirt of endeavour’s hot fucking snot talk to him like a hero) but then. you know. he gets attached like a chump, or whatever. maybe he sees more of himself in you than he wanted to, or maybe being outside of the careful, clinical surveillance he was under before means he has to confront like—what the point of it all is, you know? he failed in killing his father, his baby brother, himself. he got patched together and now endeavour’s grovelling like a worm for forgiveness Touya doesn’t want to give him, almost (it’s not atonement or forgiveness he wants—he wants the family he should’ve had, the power he should’ve had from birth, perfect and whole). and it’s like—the choice is either go out in a blaze of glory or…. i don’t think he’d even let himself imagine it, LOL. you and him and your fucked up issues like linen in the cupboards of some cute little house with a tidy fence around it? bullshit. pathetic.

(but you patch each other up. and the way you laugh when someone eats shit trying to run during one of your robberies makes him think of his days with the League of Villains—the way everyone was so unrepentative in what they were after, the hurt they wanted to inflict. And yet Toga’s out there somewhere, getting rehabilitated back into society and last Touya heard Spinner was working with heteromorph discrimination programs after a rough recovery—and you could still make it, he thinks in disdain. He’s on his last, last chance but you—you could still have that tiny home, somewhere. The linen cupboards that hold more than the issues that sent you to the same centre he was languishing in. You could still have a future, and later that night when you’re asleep he walks away from the car you’ve traded (stolen) the van in for—and calls his perfect baby brother, who answers the phone silently, waiting.

“You wanna help?” Touya asks, dry. “Then help, Hero.”)

I have a question about the batch of Jayrea short stories, you wrote. Within them you basically have Raven and Jason living in an apartment. Now I’ve been in quite a few apartments and I know that depending upon certain factors. Your neighbours can hear you. So it kinda makes me giggle just imagining a neighbour minding there own business and than all of a sudden hearing “JASON PETER TODD!!!”. The ceiling is shaking and your shadows in your apartment is acting weird. Your stuff is also prone to either shaking or moving depending upon the woman’s temper upstairs.

Like how have we not gotten information on the neighbours? Are they regular people or those in the Superhero world? Maybe even a villain like… Captain Cold rents the apartment because he doesn’t want to deal with Flash all the time or it could be Grifter. How do they perceive the other apartment? Do they think it’s haunted or do the neighbours just roll there eyes and go “Looks like Jason got into a fight with his girlfriend again.”?🧐🤣😋

So it's surprising how few heroes and villains live in NYC but I hope you enjoy! =)

Just Pretend to be Normal!

Living in a J. Peter’s Building came with a certain level of expectation and requirements. There’d be no fuckery, no villainry, heroing, drugs, or criminal activity. Which was great, J. Peters was famed for Blue Discounts, First Responder Discounts, as well as Recovering Housing; that recovering housing was for paroled and released criminals barring certain crimes. For the most part, J. Peters was famed for fresh starts, because he would employ many criminals looking for honest second chances, as well as safe homes for all his tenants. Fucking that up was not permitted, the last supervillain to try to turn his apartment in a J. Peters building was evicted so fast, and visited by the Red Hood, the Riddler was still recovering from whiplash.

That said, Slade liked living in his apartment, 3C, which was directly under J. Peters apartment which housed J. Peters and his girlfriend, Rachel Roth. Slade wasn’t fooled by the personas, he was well aware of who J. Peters was, as well as Rachel Roth, but life as a civilian operated smoothly if there was a bit of separation between the two and he never acknowledged what he knew for fact.

Jason Todd, a.k.a. the Red Hood, was in a serious, committed relationship with Raven from the Titans, and they were living a quiet, nonintrusive life, for the most part. That said, Slade was also aware that he only had this apartment so long as Jason looked the other way and left the unspoken rules of decorum about the heroes-villain world away.

That said, Slade also had to look the other way to the oddities of his upstairs neighbors; he was not fucking with an interdimensional demoness, he had learned his fucking lesson!

Today was no different as his daughter was making a rare visit with him, he and Rose were still on uneasy terms, but she was making an effort, so he was trying too. Today they had had a father-daughter outing, and now she was staying the night, he would be taking the couch. He had waved at Rachel in the lobby of their building when she was getting her mail and he was heading out, he was aware that Jason was out wreaking havoc in Gotham.

The night, for the most part was going smoothly, and now Slade was lounging on his couch, reading quietly, Rose had passed out in his room a while ago. He was squinting at the page; he absolutely refused to get reading glasses, he wasn’t fucking old. There was a loud crash, and he raised his brow as he looked over to his sink where the cutlery was rattling.

“Azar Damnit JASON!” Raven shouted, and he looked at his ceiling.

“It’s not that bad!”

“You’re bleeding all over my freshly mopped floor!”

“It’s just a minor flesh wound.”

“You’ve knicked a major artery, you ass!”

“I am feeling lightheaded, little bird, yell at me after I die again.”

“You’re not dying unless I kill you!”

“Now that’d be a hell of a way to go!”

“Get your mind out of the gutter!”

“I’m a street rat!”

“I’m about to have a dead rat for a boyfriend, who the hell were you fighting!?”

“Oh, you know, Dick, Penguin, regular goons…”

“Dick did this!”

“Yes.”

Salde winced as the shadows flickered in his apartment and then everything was normal again. He shrugged as he went back to reading his book. As he said, so long as he never acknowledged who his neighbors were, they could all pretend to be civilians and not heroes and supervillains.

alright so i don’t know that i’d call any of what i do here a character analysis. i know you sent this in response to my post with klavier writing advice, so i’ll try to do the same here. this is a collection of things i try to keep in mind when i write apollo.

1. he’s rude

this one’s great. followers may know this about me, but i am also rude. it’s come up in my posts sometimes, because i actually have such poor manners that it becomes a problem for me every now and then. i swear a lot! it just comes out of me. sometimes, i have to write characters who don’t swear, or who swear very little, and that’s hell. that is hell for me. it’s a miracle i haven’t cursed yet in this post. just makes it easier to express shit, you know?

but apollo swears. i promise you that. apollo justice swears like a fuckin sailor. i…… will be honest i can’t be assed to find it, but there is a post on here where a lovely tumblr user broke down the speaking styles of various aa characters in the japanese original. if anyone wants to go find it and let me know, be my guest!! but what i remember about that is that apollo justice has a pottymouth. and ever since i’ve read that, i have clung to it with all my might. look me in the eyes. let apollo justice say fuck.

he also has no social skills. he isn’t rude on purpose! although i think sometimes he can be. i think he can be a mean little pissant when he doesn’t like someone. you know he would have ended daryan crescend’s life then and there if they hadn’t been in court.

but anyway, i think sometimes he is also just pretty bad at talking to people. he’s a lawboy! he’s built to practice law! he doesn’t know how to do anything else!! when he sees that vera is scared in the detention center, he makes the perhaps worst attempt at smalltalk we ever see in the entirety of the series. he doesn’t know how to be tactful, and he isn’t going to learn, because aside from law apollo is also all about truth. he sees lies, and he’s a bad liar himself, but sometimes lying is expected of you in social situations, and he’s not going to do it, and he won’t like it when other people do it. he’d rather be rude. and he will be. he will be very rude.

2. he has no volume control

as a person with adhd. very nice to write. i’ve never uttered a quiet sentence in my life. everything i’ve ever said i’ve screamed at the top of my lungs. also not on purpose! it just comes out that way.

if you write apollo justice, just remember to make him scream now and then. whenever he’s remotely excited about anything? scream. have him animate it with his body too! apollo’s sprites don’t just slam the desk, he hits it with both fists! he jumps back in surprise when something happens, and he pokes his big old forehead when he has to think. he’s an animated guy, and whatever reaction feels exaggerated to you in the moment is probably the one to go for.

3. he cries in court

and now, for something completely different.

he’s a little softie. :] we all remember apollo being in tears when he thought trucy had been kidnapped, even though he barely knew her then. he also mentions journaling in canon, where he goes back and leaves intricate retellings of his adventures in his diaries. also!! he really enjoys lamiroir’s music. for all that he’s loud and brash and impulsive, at the end of the day, the man probably sits down with a cup of tea and a soft-lit desk lamp to write about his day.

i would also like to take this moment to remind everyone of his reaction to meeting plum kitaki.

???: You, kid with the hair. You want something? Apollo: Urk! M-M-Me? No, not a thing! Bye! Trucy: Apollo! We can't leave without questioning her! What if she knows something! Apollo: B-But th-the Kitaki Family...! (They're the biggest organized crime syndicate in town!) ???: If you're going to ask something, ask it. If you're man enough. Apollo: Waaaaugh! R-Right! 4. he punches his clients

ok, he punched one client.

i’m bringing these up in this order though because i think apollo’s impulsiveness is a really fun juxtaposition to him shaking and sobbing at having to speak to a woman on the street and in broad daylight, across from an active police scene swarming with cops no less, just because her name is kitaki. because i still think he IS impulsive.

i’ve had klavier bring this up in exorcism because it’s still one of my favorite apollo bits:

Klavier: Let us imagine you are walking through the park. You see two men facing each other. One with a pistol trained on the other. ...What would you do, Herr Forehead? Apollo: Well, I... I guess... I would try to stop them. I'd probably shout, "Stop!" Klavier: And you, Fräulein? Trucy: M-Me? Well... I'd probably scream, "Eeeeeek!" [a bit later] Stickler: Tossing the pistol aside, he fled from the scene. Apollo: [Hold it!] You didn't try to apprehend the criminal? 

i just… i mean, who would. who in their right mind would “try to apprehend the criminal.” i’d shit my pants, klavier, that’s what i’d do in that situation.

but apollo seems pretty sure that he would intervene, and you know what? i believe him. i think if apollo justice walked through a park and saw a guy shoot someone and then take off, he would fully chase after him like a fucking rabid dog, and then he’d probably jump him and call the cops, and when they’d get there they’d find bite marks on the guy for some reason.

he just also gets really scared when he sees mafiosi, instead of attempting to arrest them. essentially i just think, apollo sees something, anything, and reacts to it in the biggest, wildest way possible. a mafioso will have a normal conversation with him and apollo will scream and cry. a passerby will hold a knife to someone’s throat and apollo will single-handedly beat him to a pulp. phoenix wright will smile at him and apollo will uppercut his childhood hero. it doesn’t have to make sense. it just has to be batshit.

5. other stuff

two more things i’ve thought about a lot while learning to write apollo are his loyalty and his confidence.

loyalty first: there is not an ounce of misplaced loyalty in this man. once it became clear that kristoph was the borscht bowl club killer, apollo was on him, and he took him down. i fully believe that if phoenix had been the killer, apollo would have done the exact same to him. there is one moment in turnabout succession when kristoph first takes the stand, where apollo kind of gulps and thinks that this still feels like he’s his mentor, but he gets over that PRETTY quickly lol. and he wasn’t thinking about sparing kristoph for being his mentor, he just remembered to stand up straight and be a good lawyer in front of him.

confidence second. i get. SO bothered. when people write apollo without it. you listen to me. this five foot nothing freak thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread, and as a german person it’s difficult for me to say this about bread, but he’s right.

apollo thinks he’s fucking fantastic. he’s VERY proud of his vocal routine, he thinks it’s GREAT that he screams every thought he’s ever had. he’s really nerdy about law, he tells plum and trucy that he loves long and boring procedures as a lawyer, shamelessly. he very firmly believes in his hairstyle. everything you see apollo justice do he does on purpose. (which also makes me think that he knows EXACTLY what he does when he rolls up his shirt sleeves every morning. whore.)

the few times we see all of this slip is when he has to deal with rock star klavier. there’s a couple of times where he thinks that he wishes he could be as cool as klavier, but i’ve honestly never read that as apollo suddenly becoming self-conscious. i genuinely think he’s just annoyed that there’s someone whose shtick (being a very weird very loud lawyer but tall and with a guitar) looks cooler than his own shtick (being a very weird very loud lawyer but short and with no guitar). apollo thought he was hot shit before he met klavier and he continues to think he’s hot shit after he’s met klavier, but now he also thinks that he should be rich and famous for being apollo justice because that would make him even cooler. and, again, i kind of agree.

i think that’s mostly it? he’s a good guy and i like him. he gets annoyed with his clients for being weirdos sometimes, but there is that underlying theme in aa4 where all of apollo’s clients did commit a crime, just not murder, and apollo never drops them for it. he is an almost exact replica of hercule poirot in that he is short, weird, REALLY sure of himself, and doesn’t care if people commit crimes except if it’s murder, in which case he cares so much that he becomes a feral animal. all he needs is a mustache. and he’d probably think he’d look really cool with one too.

Hahahah, okay, so it started because we were continuing a conversation about the fact that if you were dating someone in organized crime, they could break up with you, but you couldn't break up with them.

I was explaining that it was possible to have an amicable break up because my sister dated someone ages ago who was involved in such things to the point that he offered to take care of her and sent a bodyguard with her when she went shopping without him. She broke things off because she knew if they got any more serious, she'd never be able to leave and I (her younger sister) would be used as collateral against her. (This is what spurred my oneshot Hindsight).

The two of us looked at each other and agreed that if she hadn't made that choice, my life would be very different from what it is right now.

The conversation continued and I mentioned that same sister also had a stalker at one point and when he showed up to where we lived once when she was alone, she ended up stabbing him and scaring him off herself.

This is the same sister who had been involved/knew gangs when she was young, which spurred on the conversation to how gangs tend to recruit young and how Tokyo Revengers really isn't that surprising that the main characters are like 14 when whey get involved in it. She used to warn me to stay away from specific people (and groups) in the park we lived by, and snuck into clubs before she was even 16. (meanwhile, i saw this all go down and how much trouble she got into and kept my head down and buried in books lol...while listening to all of her advice). The only reason my life isn't more insane is because of her protecting me, ngl. And considering how weird my life is with me doing nothing, I dodged more than just a bullet lol.

The first hand, and second hand, knowledge is something I use in my writing and it's probably part of why some of the plots are so dark. Especially when it comes to anything related to stuff like this (aka any of my Tokyo Revengers fics) because I tend to think of how things would play out logically.

It's not just the two of us either.

They were cute together, and overall I loved Lincoln's character. I did and still do and that's why he'll always be a teddy bear in any fics he shows up in. And yes, I can understand why some people genuinely liked them together. But if we remove the shipper goggles? Bruh. He was a 25yo (according to what I can find) grown ass man pursuing a 16yo child. Be so honest c'mon. And, arguably an incredibly important factor here, not only was Octavia 16, but she was a naive and sheltered 16. She'd spent her entire life up until those few weeks on the ground living under the floorboards ffs. Her entire existence was soley based around Bellfuck and their mother. She had no life experience, no real practical learned common sense, no social education. She was, by all perimeters, a child. That's not to say someone of a similar age who wasn't as sheltered is somehow more adult or anything, but there is a naïveté factor even beyond the morality of it. I realize theloo did everything they could to try and downplay that and negate it by magically making Octavia this wordly and spunky ~fast learner~ (so you're saying she's just - what? ,,, mature for her age? Is that what you were saying, Jason?🤨🧐 that man needs to answer for his crimes), but baby if it quacks like a duck it's a gd duck

So I mean, if I'm being totally honest, yeah it was gross 🤷‍♀️ if we're gonna sit here and criticize Bellfart for sleeping with underage girls then ya gotta hold the same energy for Lincoln who arguably stepped over that line every bit as much. a/n: Omg first request hi!!! I wasn't sure what writing format you wanted so I decided to do some small HCs instead, and made the reader GN + a prisoner too ⎯ also wasn't sure if you meant platonically or romantically, so i just went with both!! And as for my opinion on Shidou ??🧐 Hmm, I do find him interesting just like the rest but I'm not too deep on knowing his character? Other than his murder and how he wants the guilty verdict. Joining MILGRAM was everyones' concern right now as they wondered how they even ended up here, and how they'll get out.

Shidou, however, seemed to be the more relaxed and composed one out of everyone here ⎯ not really saying much and keeping to himself, but he does go out of his way to make sure everyone is calm and not too anxious about the situation.

Even going as far as to do daily checkups to make sure nothing out of the ordinary is happening.

But as time flies for ... however long you've been here, Shidou began to notice how antsy you were getting. Eyeing everyone from afar and pacing around a lot when you think no one is looking ⎯ when in reality, he was always watching over you while you do this. Noting down your behavior in a little notepad he had asked Es for.

And when the time finally came where he confronted you about it, you just... Broke down in front of him. Saying it was all too much and that you were scared you'll be in here for your entire life.

Which made Shidou do his best to comfort you in a sensible, but comforting way a doctor was suppose to do, but he was having hard time grasping on what you meant. Or more so, the feeling of being afraid? Since he didn't really care about what happens to him, in fact he hopes to die here soon so he'd atone for his 'sins'. But seeing how effected you were of the situation, made him think otherwise... Only a little bit though.

Taking you by the hand, he leads you over to his cell for a private one on one session with him ⎯ to discuss more on the matter on how he could help you in any way.

However long you wanted to talk with him, he's always free to listen to your woes. Taking more notes with every session, and even noting down advices on how to make things a little better for you here.

But only just now mentioning this, he is a doctor. Just a doctor, that has no real experience in psychology whatsoever ⎯ so it's a first for him, just like you (if this is your first time having a therapy session), to talk and discuss about such heavily emotions.

And if he could, depending on the circumstances of your situation, he'd prescribe you with medication that could help you.

ೃ⁀➷ PLATONIC AND/OR ROMANTIC

But pushing all of that nonsense aside, let's talk about how he treats you like a 'princess'.

I think it'd start around the first few sessions with him, where he looks over in your direction to make sure you were doing alright.

But then later on, he'd come walking over to ask how's your day been, and if you were doing okay. Patting your head when you reply, in a praising way or in a comforting way ⎯ which ever it is you want, he'd gladly give it to you.

And oddly enough though, I do see him being the type to play with your hair?? Absentmindedly ruffling it up ⎯ or if you have long hair, he'd plait it into braids.

Being silent the whole time while he plays with it, and occasionally making small comments to fill in the silence when he thinks it's necessary to.

Another thing is linking his fingers with yours, when you're standing next to each other or sitting together while talking with the others. He'd graze his fingertips against yours ⎯ before linking them up. It's a small, silent gesture he does whenever he feels as though the conversation is getting a bit too overbearing or intense for you, or when he notices you slowly becoming uncomfortable and fidgeting a whole lot. But it's sweet nonetheless.

Shidou is also a man of few words mind you, but as mentioned earlier, he'd talk to you about your problems. And if you ever have the courage to confine in him about your murder(s)... I'd say he'd be flattered, but would be unsure on what to say after hearing about it.

Maybe opening up to you about his? Only slightly though ⎯ but not really mentioning the part where he hopes to get a guilty verdict, as to not make you worry for him.

But If you do somehow manage to find out about it though, say from someone else (for example: Kazui), Shidou really wouldn't know what to say to you if you try to convince him otherwise.

Sure, he might say something logical to counter your words towards him ⎯ but it'd feel like he's talking to a brick wall, from how persistent you are to get him to not throw away his life so easily.

But... He wouldn't really put up a fight for long. Not fully agreeing to what you say to him, but understanding how you feel after finding out about it.

It'll take some time for him to truly understand how you feel though, as he still believes he deserves to die for what he's done. But with some talks with him, and getting him to understand, perhaps he will start to change his views.

he never gets an actual confession. he tries to get it from you later at night using kisses and sweet words but you say you would never betray your partner in crime 🤐

and as much as aaron tries to act annoyed when you team up against him with jack, it means the world to him that you and his son are genuinely best friends 🥹🥹

Thoroughly enjoyed and loved “Through the Darkness” and the production quality ⭐️ Fabulously performed, written and executed ✨👏🏽 (Special kudos to the actors performing the serial killers! They were skillfully villainous and horrifying!) 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Especially loved the filter/colours and the angling of the shots - which reminded me quite a bit of “The Guest” in terms of angles and staging choices - and how wonderfully they utilised that technique to make scenes more intimate and poignant, to highlight the stark - or stoically accepting - emotions of the characters❣️ The clean and “simple” framings were simply fantastic!

Loved all the characters and particularly supporting character journalist-Chae 😍🤩 So pretty and principled❤️‍🔥

But what is it with SBS crime dramas and their characters’ un-shippable vibes? 😅🤔 To paraphrase the title of a fascinating article, “Everyone is Beautiful and an ‘Aroace’ Super-workaholic”! (“Everyone is Beautiful and No One is Horny” by Blood Knife)

(Except for our illustrious Team Leader Kook, who was canonically, happily married - offscreen - with children! A rarity these days). Not saying that is an issue per se, but give this pathetic shipping fangirl some crumbs somewhere?!

I wanted to ship someone so badly - for headcanon’s sake - but they made it so difficult 🤪🧐 (Not that I watched these type of shows - I know there will be none - for the romance/chance at shipping but still…)

I encountered this similar problem with “Nobody Knows”, and I am quite sure the performers not being my preferences (or fanciable to me) is NOT the only reason I had a hard time trying to come up with shipping feels, because I had a bit of shipping fun - as ephemeral as it was - with “The Good Detective” and most of the performers were not inspiring much feels either, but I still definitively shipped them while watching the drama. That said, I much prefer TtD as a show than TGD though both are excellent in different ways.

Ah, made me miss “The Guest” and the feels - and fixation - they inspired and provoked ❤️‍🔥😭 Also made me appreciate and thankful for the production even more each turn❣️ (I love TG for the writing, commentaries and stories too, not just the “other things” 😅🥰🥹☺️)
