Something i think about a lot is that if someone took a photo of me nude and cut off the head and edited out my very distinctive birthmarks, I'd probably find that person really gorgeous. Like it's literally just the knowledge that this is my own body that makes me dislike it. idk im having a moment

mainly kai pls
Sorry for the delay. You asked mostly for Kai's so I delivered. If anyone wants more hcs about the others I can work on it some time in the future (I also have more of Kai).
Now the hcs:
• All the ninja have PTSD from everything they’ve been through
• And abandonment issues
• Cole has an eating disorder and eats when he’s stressed, this is one of the reasons he is very insecure of his weight. People online poke at him for it
• Jay's terrified of losing his loved ones again because of him. That is another reason why he went absolutely crazy post Seabound, as he thinks it was his fault Nya had to resort to sacrificing herself
• He used to be bullied for living in a junkyard before becoming a ninja and that's why he was ashamed of it
• Zane always shoves down everything wrong that happens to him (e.g being the Ice Emperor for way too long to be ok about it) because he puts the team and their needs first.
• Nya has nightmares from the time she died in skybound but doesn't tell anyone.
• She had to keep her work and love life secret from her brother for fear that he would shut her down to protect her. Her fear persisted well into s1 and that's why she felt she had to hide Samurai X even from Kai
• Lloyd still admires his uncle despite his obsession with the green ninja (and all the neglect that came with it) because he's the only relative that actually took him in
• All of the ninja have at some point hidden an injury at least once. But Kai and Nya are the ones that do it more often (Nya specially when she was samurai X), and know how to treat mild wounds because of it.
• Kai and Nya do physical activities when they’re stressed or have emotions they don’t want to process. They can do their thing like Kai working in the forge and Nya doing mechanics but they usually train, however they can go on for hours (Kai has passed out a few times)
• Kai and Zane have a very poor sense of self. Zane’s comes from him not valuing his life and thinking he’s expendable since he can be rebuilt, ignoring all the trauma that comes from getting severely hurt or “dying”. Kai has problems seeing his worth as a human being because he’s never lived for himself; everything he does is for someone else and so he thinks his value resides in what he can do for other people. 
• Kai is terrified of the idea of being alone, it’s his worst fear.
• He has THE WORST coping mechanisms and Zane is confused on how his body was able to go through all of them (Alcoholism, illegal fights, smoking…)
• Kai is an insomniac, he barely sleeps most nights and instead just waits until he passes out (He has very deep eyebags because of it but hides them with make up, covering his freckles too). He sometimes bumps into some other ninja at night since they all have fucked up sleep schedules. 
• Lloyd also has a lot of problems sleeping because of nightmares and goes to Kai or Nya’s room where he feels safer (mostly into Kai’s). Sometimes they stay up at night chilling or they try to sleep. In those cases the nights with Lloyd are the ones where Kai sleeps the most because he feels safer too.
• Kai has chronic depression because of his fucked up childhood
• Lloyd thought he had depression too for a while but it turned out to be autistic burnout because of the stress of being the green ninja. But he can’t properly rest or heal from the burnout so he’s exhausted most of the time.
• When he’s stressed Kai forgets to eat and can go days with very little food because he’s used to it from being poor in his childhood.
• Genuinely forgot what it feels like to be a kid and have no responsibilities so it’s his personal mission to not let that happen to Lloyd. Kai would be devastated if Lloyd ended up like him.
• Kai sometimes feels insecure about his face scars and contemplates hiding them with make up.
• Kai’s touch starved but terrified of letting people in.
• He hides his negative emotions as anger and when the others try to reach out to him he pushes them away by getting angry at them until it's mutual and they leave him alone.
• Never told the others about what he did after Zane’s “death”. He fixed himself up, alone.

Dear Domestic Dragons Trust. I’m writing as I’m in need of some help with my newest companion.
I’ve recently acquired a pocket dragon from my elderly neighbors, they’ve recently gone to nursing home and couldn’t care for her any longer. She’s a beautiful little dragon with lovely rose scales. She’s been adjusting to the move well but there is one very serious problem with her, her weight. She’s extremely obese, to the point of looking like a giant pink ball. She has trouble walking and cannot fly at all. She’s always demanding food even just after being fed and worse yet is constantly demanding human food. How do I curb this food behavior and help her lose weight?

Hello!
How sad your neighbours were not able to take their little companion along, but how wonderful that you were willing to adopt her! We deal with a lot of dragons with various health conditions in our shelters and while the solution is rarely one-size-fits-all we can certainly give you some tips:
Focus on your relationship with your new dragon first. It's very good to read that she has adjusted well to the changes in her life, but dragon's tend to get very attached to their owners and it takes them time to switch those affections over to someone else. It's important that you and your dragon bond properly before you start extensively correcting her behaviour. Dragons hold grudges.
Provide enrichment and encourage exercise. Perhaps her former caretakers were not often able to play and travel with their dragon anymore. Excitement and movement are healthy for all dragons and will usually be met with much more enthusiasm than restricting their food. Different dragons like different activities, but you could try setting up a treasure hunt for her with her favourite hoard items, get her a dragon puzzle box, or build a nice lair for her in a hard to reach place. Taking her along with you when you go somewhere is a great way to add enrichment to her life as well! (Some people have enchanted toys for their dragon to chase, but we generally do not recommend this, because not all dragons are able to distinguish between a magically animated toy and actual living creatures.)
Encourage your dragon's natural diet. Most north-western pocket dragons are flying land dragons who are happiest and healthiest on a diet of fruit and cream. They are omnivores, however, and often end up liking human treats. You wrote that she demands human food a lot and that is generally not great for them. So we recommend starting out by giving her plenty of her natural diet while preventing her from eating your food.
With a bit of luck her adjusting to her new life with you, will already have a positive effect on her habits! If you are very worried and would like a proper plan to manage her health, we recommend making an appointment with an occult veterinarian once you have gained her trust. They will be able to give you more specialised advice.

BYAKUYA TOGAMI - finds it disgusting and insufferable
"not another one of these peasants... and an indifferent one? hell."
you? indifferent? wow. worse person to be handicapped around.
at first he'd give you the stank-eye. he'd treat you the same as he treats everyone: like a peasant under him.
but oh no. hell will break loose when he finds out you're indifferent.
he'd be such a drama queen, never wanting to be in the same room as you, scooting away, making a face whenever you were around.
byakuya would treat your autism like the plague.
he is in his most annoying era whenever toko annoys him, making sarcastic remarks and comments here and there.
though once you manage to befriend him or i guess tame him like some beast, he'd stop with the bratty ass behavior. maybe not with the distancing himself and leaving the room shenanigans, but still.
whenever he found you annoying (which is most of the time) he'd just pretend he doesn't care or hear, walk away or recommend you go annoy naegi or kirigiri.
one upside is you could basically ask him for money to buy stim toys, weighted blankets or sensory stuff and he'd just say "take it" and throw a thick, fat wad of cash at you.
MONDO OOWADA - finds himself relating to you
"don't think of yourself like that, s/o. i like you most when you're you."
yeah... even though he's the leader of japan's most popular biker gang, he has his number of his own insecurities and struggles.
one is he was and still is, never able to properly socialize with people, that being the reason why he's always so loud and interrupts everyone.
reverse comfort
he's not embarrassed of you, he's embarrassed of himself.
you always have to comfort him when he finds himself in third or second place.
you and scented candles are his emotional support.
sometimes he'd randomly scare you by picking you up from behind.
need not fear, he also does the same thing to ishimaru, in fact he does it more to kiyotaka than you.
if you're cold he'd lend you his jacket.
MAKOTO NAEGI - would find positivity and hope in it
"come on... it's not your fault. plus, it made you who you are right now, it made you you, and i love that."
whenever you're down, makoto would make up stupid stories to try and get you to crack. [ you can decide whether or not s/o ends up laughing at his stories or not ]
as well as dumb stuff that's happened to him due to his 'luck', like him losing his sock and never finding it.
he'd let you ruffle and mess up his hair, also warning you about his ahoge so you don't stab yourself.
sometimes when he has nightmares he'd knock on your door and ask if he could stay for a bit.
in the morning though you won't have to run to the lunch hall, because well, you'll find your breakfast sitting on your bedside table alongside some juice or milk.
whenever you do crazy things, makoto would just watch nervously and would only interfere when you're about to get hurt.
also he likes to stargaze with you at midnight when everyone's asleep.
KIYOTAKA ISHIMARU - worries about you, yet supports you.
"as long as you don't run in the halls or scream like mondo- you'll remain my closest friend!"
sometimes he'd unintentionally throw in a sarcastic or dramatic remark, but that's just him, and you know that.
usually when you're hyper active to the point where you can't eat on your own, he takes it as his own responsibility to feed you manually (and make sure you don't starve to death)
he'd always start off the day with a greeting and how your day went.
since he's asked so many people that, he can tell when you're lying, and would ask what's wrong.
persistent bby
rarely you warn him about mondo picking his ass up, since you find it hilarious.
however you two always have each others' backs.
CHIHIRO FUJISAKI - relates to you on the same level
"don't worry- if i go, alter ego will stay with you till you go too, and then we'll be reunited! right s/o...?"
aside from mondo, you'd be the second person he'd tell his secret to. he knows he can trust you with it, especially when he isn't ready for the world's criticism.
whenever his day was just a horrible one in general, he knows he can come to you for comfort.
before going to bed you both make each other hot chocolates.
you'd lend chihiro some of your clothes whenever he'd decide his confidence level for that day.
if you can't beat a level on a game, just ask chihiro, he'll work his cheating magic.
when your craziness kicks in, you'll insist and persist he hacks into somebody's account to invade their privacy. (you can choose who)
LEON KUWATA - would try to understand your disability
"i don't know what the heck you're doing, but i like where it's going, s/o."
75% of the time he doesn't know what you're doing, but goes along with it.
you'd always be cheering the loudest in the audience at his baseball matches.
he'd be appreciative of your craziness and impulsive actions most of the time.
like you managing to break a vending machine and get like 10 energy drinks for the price of 1.
but sometimes he'll be really confuse and just leave you be... and by that i mean ditch you like the dick he is.
you'll have to navigate your way back.
once you do find him, you'll grab his shoulders from behind, making him scream like a little girl.
SAYAKA MAIZONO - finds it unique and supports you
"don't say that! you're waayy more special than the them!"
honestly she'd think it makes you unique from the others.
in fact, you guys would discuss about song lyrics and she'd take a lot of inspiration from you and your tales.
overall sayaka wouldn't mind whenever you let your heart out, she enjoys hearing your voice.
she's too embarrassed to admit that, though.
if you have long hair, she'd braid and mess around with it, also letting you mess with hers since she really likes your touch.
if you ever needed help with falling asleep soundly, sayaka would offer to sing you a song or a lullaby, as well as learn the lyrics to your favorite song after that night as backup.
pls- she'd be so patient with you. if you were ever mad, she'd leave you be to cool down. if you were upset or scared she'd hold and hug you, telling you everything will be okay. she'd listen to you vent your heart out.
she spends more time in your room chattering with you rather than her own room sitting miserably on a table rocking her brain back and fourth thinking of catchy song lyrics.
AOI ASAHINA - finds you even more adorable

asahina would treat you like her baby.
her and sakura will defend you with their life, especially from mondo and byakuya. they're getting their asses beaten if they dared mess with you.
overprotective mother mode
she'd share her donuts and food with you.
whenever you guys meet up for the day she'd give you a daily head pat and compliment like "oh my goshh you look cuter than before!"
she'd also get you stim toys and other stuff to distract yourself with incase she was busy with a competition or training with sakura.
if you really wanted, aoi would also teach you to swim.
also would chase you just to ruffle your hair.
CELESTIA LUDENBURG - doesn't care about it
"as long as it isn't infectious, you can have all the time and tea you want with and from me."
oh you were disabled? she didn't even notice.
celeste wouldn't give a flying fuck about it.
it's more of if you piss her off or not. if you don't, you can have tea with her, if you do... well, she'd either send you to kyoko or act like a less dramatic togami.
most of the time celeste would listen to whatever you had to say, or pretend she was listening and constantly nod her head.
she'd be hesitant to let you around grand bois chéri (her cat), so you'd have to try your hardest to prove to her you won't injure or let chéri get injured in your care.
other than that celeste would treat you like any other person.
if you get too out of hand for her though, she'd get you some sensory or stim toys to keep you busy from annoying her.
KYOKO KIRIGIRI - would be supportive of you no matter what

sometimes in her free time, she'd follow you around, most of the time just to make sure you're alright.
lets you review cases with her, just to keep your mind fresh and active, perhaps one day you'll impress and blow her mind by solving a mystery even she couldn't crack.
even though she'd be embarrassed, shy or not wanting to, she'd join in your activities if you invited her to, such as dancing or singing.
though she'd never share hers, she'd always ask about you and your feelings.
is very persistent, and would secretly and anonymously send you little gifts from time to time like a secret admirer.
JUNKO ENOSHIMA - would be inquisitive and criticize

has no idea and knowledge about disabilities and stuff.
she's worse than togami.
she'd always humiliate and embarrass you in front of people to cause despair
but she'd always find herself crawling back to you.
it's annoying, and she likes that. it brings her so much self-inflicted despair
uses you as an insult, especially towards mukuro and kamukura.

when she isn't in such a despair-ful mood, instead of embarrassing you in public, she'd just grab your hand and lightly squeeze it, all while obnoxiously insulting her sister.
since she's an uncultured swine, she'd either let you squeeze, hug and cry to a monokuma bot or let mukuro deal with you.
SAKURA OGAMI - would be supportive and encourages you

usually you'd watch her work out and bring and make her protein shakes whenever asahina was training.
she'd make sure you're good and healthy, both physically and mentally.
if you also wanted to train and work out with her, she'd offer to make you a healthy drink afterwards.
you two always have fun making smoothies and salads with funny drawings and faces made of tomatoes and onions after work out sessions.
would let you style her hair into ridiculous sights.
whenever you guys were in a meeting or assembly, you, asahina and sakura would crack jokes and giggle together.
both of you have this special greeting where you jump and high-five, most of the time sakura just stands with her hand up though.
TOKO FUKAWA - pretends to find you insufferable but relates to you
"i g-guess freaks talk to f-freaks, don't they...?"
at first she'd try to act like togami around you. avoiding you and giving you the "ew" look.
but later on she'd find herself warming up to you and doing small little affectionate tasks like bringing you a glass of water.
goes by the "if i do this for you, you will do this for me" sorta thing.
so she fetches you that glass of water (even if you didn't ask for it), you'll have to get her a glass of water or juice too next time.
sometimes you'd also help her chase byakuya, just for fun, and a way to relieve your anxieties.
you guys may or may not get too crazy and start a food fight, targetting each other and byakuya.
you both cower away when it comes to social interactions
BONUSES ;; TENKO CHABASHIRA & MIKAN TSUMIKI

TENKO CHABASHIRA - becomes more overprotective of you
"i have to defend you from the degenerate males, stay behind me, s/o!"
whenever anyone, especially the guys, approaches you, she'd jump into action and scare them away.
if you wanna talk to anyone of your guy friends, you'll have to distract her or send her away.
you two would toss small snacks into each others' mouth such as gummies or little candies and make a game of it. never hard candy though, since you guys don't wanna injure each other.
if any guy harassed you, they are going to the afterlife once tenko finds out.
you both do crazy things such as destroying a vending machine just to steal it's contents without paying.
she'd also invite you to watch himiko do magic tricks, but no guys allowed, okay?
since sometimes you can be really clueless and naive, tenko scans the place to look for any guys or suspicious people and hesitates to leave you alone to either run an errand, check on yumeno or use the bathroom.
also, whenever you're using the bathroom, tenko stands outside the toilet door, guarding it with her arms crossed and legs spread.
MIKAN TSUMIKI - worries more about you and becomes more clingy
"s/o! w-what happened?! who did this- or-or did you fall? eek! i'm sorry!"
would occasionally check on you and knock on your room door to a point where it gets sorta creepy and annoying.
you'll have to tell her that you're fine, and you won't die within' 10 seconds when she's off elsewhere.
well since you do tend to do crazy things beyond your control, she knows you're gonna get hurt eventually.
and you do.
when you get injured or hurt, you won't have to head to her office, since well... the nurse will come to you automatically.
though she'd be crying, fearing you were going to die or something dramatic.
"i'm so sorry s/o!! i should've ran quicker- don't leave me!!"
if it is serious and you end up blacking out, somebody else would have to give you medical attention since mikan would be sulking in the bathroom, washing her face over and over again.
she's touch-starved, but is always too shy and scared to ask for hugs.
whenever you guys are in assembly, she'll hold your hand and squeeze it. she relaxes herself knowing you're there, right next to her.

Who in svt do you think would get the fattest?
let's do this in order shall we? so from who would be the smallest to who would get the largest. personally, i think there's fat potential in all of them because i'm going to get my grubby hands on everyone.
headcanons below... there's a lot.
13. minghao
he definitely seems like the one who's super into size difference so he'd much rather stay his usual weight while goading the one he's feeding as they get massive. the most you'll catch him with is softening during holidays but he's quick to bounce back while putting ALL the weight he loses onto someone else through his antics.
12. jeonghan
he's someone who would get chubby but not much more than that because he can only do his gremlin activities when he can run from the consequences. that being said, he'd be a GREAT feeder. definitely not immune to the food that he makes so he puts on a little bit of weight but nothing too much because he's also the teasing size difference type of feeder.
11. joshua
also strikes me more of a feeder than someone who'd get fat but i think he'd enjoy being bigger than the one who he's making fatter at the start of the journey and uses his weight to encourage the other person. pressing his belly into them while telling them they should get bigger if they want to be in charge while making them eat.
10. dino
he definitely is the type that would be unaware of how big he gets because of his personality type. he can't button his pants? that's just because he had ramen yesterday (and like everyday for weeks before that) he's bloated, not fat. his steps get heavier? that's just because he's walking flat footed. he'd get pretty big before properly realizing it and then would manage to lose some and think he's basically bounced back.
9. seungkwan
given how hard he works to maintain his physique all it takes is like one little indulgence before he balloons his waistline. it settles a good amount in his ass as well and he doesn't mind that but the belly that comes along with it is something that he could live without. can be coaxed to keeping it with enough attention though but otherwise wouldn't get too large.
8. seokmin
definitely would see the others getting fat and go with it for the sheer vibes of it. he's doing it on purpose and has a hard limit when he breaks through his second pair of pants because he's having a hard time with his gut. doesn't lose the weight but just stays where he's at instead and he's still pretty big. definitely likes the weight a lot more than he lets on and enjoys the teasing that comes from his gluttony.
7. jihoon
oh. this guy doesn't leave his studio at all and while he does workout, if there's a sudden influx of food being brought to him, there's only so many ways it can go. producing on a full stomach gives him more inspiration so he ends up always stuffed to the brim. it's only when he gets stuck in his office chair, love handles pinched to the sides when he decides to stop and that much weight on his shorter frame makes him look massive.
6. soonyoung
considering how much he gets spoiled, i think he'd get pretty massive pretty quickly. he is always babied when he's around people so it'd just incline people to give him food and after a point, he'd start expecting it so more people give in. he doesn't care that his gut protrudes out obscenely far even when he's not stuffed because he's the one getting more snacks all the time.
5. vernon
while he does have odd eating habits (i'm looking at the ice cream olive oil), neither of those things are exactly healthy to eat so with enough weird combinations, i can see him just finding the worst things to eat for both imagination and calories. he puts on the weight as expected but doesn't mind it as he'd vibe with how much more comfortable he is while sleeping thanks to his new fat.
4. mingyu
you can't trust a skinny chef. he's way too talented in the kitchen to be thin. sampling dishes here and there. sampling turns into clearing out pots before he serves the actual product and suddenly, he's struggling to fit between the kitchen island and stove behind him because his butt and gut have gotten so massive. he stays this weight so he can cook barely but it provides a show for those who want to see him still make masterpieces that you can trust based on the girth of the chef.
3. wonwoo
spoiled like soonyoung but even worse because he's just a gamer in his free time so there's less energy to exert. he'd get massive and not even realize it until like jihoon, gets stuck in his chair and subsequently breaks it. it doesn't deter him from stuffing himself on the various meals he's getting so i think he'd be a contender for one of the largest members.
2. jun
if he wasn't in this line of work, he'd definitely be fat and if into feederism, he'd be a feedee of massive proportions. he has such a healthy appetite and encourages so naturally so that others around him would likely get larger as well. i can see him casually breaking furniture under his massive gut and being proud, deciding that he wants to break something bigger next.
seungcheol back at it again with the spoiled boys but he's worse than both wonwoo and soonyoung because he's whiny in addition to being spoiled. asking for more food even when he's eaten more than enough make him easily like the one who would get the fattest in the group. out of everyone i can see him breaking a bed from his sheer girth the easiest. to answer, i think wonwoo, jun, and seungcheol would get the fattest in that order (plus bonuses for EVERYONE cause i love getting asks)

Elysia, the Herrscher of Origin, the Eyes of Finality, the Founder of the Flame-Chasers, the Herrscher of Human, the woman whose power is second only to Kevin. She bears an incredible amount of strength, which she rarely shows the true potential of, due to how she is constantly holding back and only takes some fights seriously. She even dislikes fighting in general, except for fights that are purely for fun. Her abilities are thusly numerous, and in order to truly understand her power, let us go over them, starting with the differences her body has from a human.
Note: Only abilities applying to Elysia's Base Form are usable by the SIM version of herself in the Elysian Realm, as the SIM version of herself lacks access to either of her Herrscher Forms until the events of the Elysium Everlasting Arc. I mainly play the real Elysia however, so this isn't too important.
This post will more than likely be updated over time with new observations.
Elysia's Physiology — Base Form

Elysia's body is not human, but it is certainly a close mimicry of a human's. Formed from Imaginary Energy by Elysia when she chose to go against her creator, the Cocoon of Finality and the Honkai, in order to help humanity, she made it close to human in order to get to live like a human. She has most normal bodily functions and capabilities that a human does, but most of the functions aren't necessary. She doesn't age past the age of adulthood, she doesn't need to breathe, she can't die of hunger, she can't die of dehydration, and she can't die from extreme temperatures.
When it comes to hunger, she still feels it, but much less frequently, and she can't grow to feel extreme hunger. Her body will ultimately use Imaginary Energy as an energy source if there isn't anything else to use. However, food is still beneficial for her, though if she forgets to eat for days to even weeks she won't really notice. Thirst she feels and she does need water, but much less than a human and ultimately she won't die if she goes without water.
With temperature, when feeling the cold it affects her a good amount less than normal due to her powers have an ice attribute to them. Her body is slightly colder than a normal person's on a daily basis, but not by much in this form; her body gets much colder when using her powers in this form, but not to an extreme degree. Heat she feels at a normal level to humans. However, with both the cold and heat, even at their extremes they cannot kill her nor affect her too badly beyond perhaps slight numbness or wooziness from the cold or heat respectively.
As for sleep, Elysia needs to sleep less than a human does, bearing much more stamina than a normal person. However, even she needs to rest eventually, on average needing 5 hours, but she may need much more depending on various factors like whether she fought and how long she's gone without sleep. She does have a tendency to sleep longer though, just because she's comfortable and doesn't feel like getting up, and she tries to maintain sleep habits close to humans in general.
Elysia's body is static in it's appearance when it comes to potentially gaining or losing weight, gaining muscle, and things of that nature. Though she isn't immune to issues the body she made causes her, such as back issues from her large chest. She is capable of physically changing her body at will to a degree, such as having given herself elf ears in order to fool people into thinking she had the MANTIS surgery, and she can also change her hair and eye color at will.
However, large changes are difficult to potentially nigh-impossible accomplish due to her having had to fine-tune her body during its initial creation to get it to function properly. If she changes anything too big, she might break the body entirely. It'd also of course raise suspicions. Also, Elysia's ears are very sensitive, both in the context of more intimate activities and in the context of hurting her if you aren't careful. They are also able to move according to her mood, drooping if she's upset and being upright if she's happy.
Elysia's Physiology — Both Herrscher Forms

In both of her Herrscher Forms; Human Form and Origin Form; all of Elysia senses are much more dulled and she's much less close to a human. She is completely immune to feeling temperature, she feels pain to a lesser degree, her body is inhumanly cold, she doesn't feel hunger, even the feeling of touch is a bit dulled. However, she doesn't fully realize a lot of it precisely because she can't feel it, and because she uses her Herrscher Forms quite rarely, so she hasn't investigated it's full effects on her body.
Elysia was born a Herrscher whose body is just a mimicry of a human, which means that a lot of additional effects her Herrscher Forms would have if she were a human turned into a Herrscher are already built into her body from the get-go, such as not needing to breathe. Thus, there isn't too much else to say on her Herrscher Forms, allowing us to move on to her actual capabilities.
Elysia's Powers — All Forms - Skills, Equipment, Etc

Without speaking of her powers granted by being a Herrscher, Elysia by herself is already an incredibly skilled individual. Even without a weapon, she is physically very strong and able to fight with her bare fists. She is a master of countless weapons, having once used the 6th Divine Key, Abyss Flower, but believed it wasn't cute enough, and ultimately settled on her main weapon being a bow. Her favorite and signature bow is not even a Divine Key, but one she calls Whisper of the Past, shown in the icon above, which was custom-made to fit with her tastes.
She's fast; so fast you at times can't even see her, even if not quite as fast as fellow Flame-Chaser Sakura; and agile, and immensely durable despite claiming to be a 'delicate maiden'. Though she is mainly ranged, she does have a rapier as a secondary weapon in case a target gets too close. She's a very elegant fighter, but one who holds herself back just because she focuses quite a lot on 'cuteness' over 'efficiency', alongside the fact she wants to avoid anyone figuring out she's a Herrscher. But even so, she's still a highly trained combatant who can take care of opponents easily without using any additional powers.
It should be further noted Elysia isn't as foolish and oblivious as she may seem at a glance. She's much more intelligent than she lets on, much more observant. Though she prioritizes 'cuteness' when she fights and rarely takes fights seriously, she still can be rather strategic when she desires, and she's quite clever. If she weren't, she probably would've been discovered as a Herrscher a long time ago, even with her Authority of Origin helping her avoid that coming to pass. She keeps calm when fighting and doesn't allow her emotions to influence her much in combat, able to keep her cool even when faced with a seemingly hopeless fight, staying rather cheerful even in face of severe agony or the possibility of death. It's almost to the point of being unsettling.
Elysia's Powers — All Forms - Crystal Manipulation & Ice Attribute

The most recognizable ability of Elysia is by far her manipulation of crystals, products of Honkai Energy that she can use in various ways, that aren't exactly made of ice, but some part of them bears an attribute of ice within them. In her Base Form, she utilizes them through crystalline drones of sorts, that allow her to create various structures of crystals, including large that release waves of purple and pink energy periodically, though she can only make a few at a time. Her arrows are also made of these crystals.
She can make these crystals explode on command into shards, and is even able to make lasers of concentrated Honkai Energy via her crystal drones. She is able to trap targets within her crystals as well, whether by directly trapping a part of their body, or in order to trap their whole body she 'plants' crystalline 'seeds' and progressively uses her abilities to allow these 'seeds' to 'blossom', her target temporarily being completely trapped within a crystal when they 'blossom'. If Elysia is severely wounded, once in a 24-hour period she can heal herself back to full health by encompassing herself within a crystal for a minute and then being able to return to fighting immediately after that minute is up. It is very difficult to interrupt this process as the crystal is very durable, but it can be done, and it leaves Elysia extremely weakened if this occurs.
She can also use crystals to create crystalline shields, and even create a large crystalline dome encompassing a certain area, and then have her arrows ricochet across the dome to hit her target multiple times. She can shoot multiple crystal arrows from her bow as well, able to send out barrages of five to eight crystal arrows at once. Given the ice attribute of her crystals, they are weakened by fire or heat-related abilities in general, but in either of her Herrscher Forms this weakness requires Kalpas or even hotter level heat to have more than a marginal effect. Since there's little else to put this as it's rarely used and lacking in information, Elysia is also able to entire a pseudo Active Honkai Reaction form that takes the shape of a manta ray, that she can fly around in and release lots of differing projectiles.
Elysia's Powers — Herrscher of Human Form

Elysia's first Herrscher Form, shortened to Human Form, where she uses a large portion of her actual power as a Herrscher to empower most of her abilities. She gains the capability to fly and no longer needs to use her drones to utilize her crystal manipulation, able to use it at will in various ways. She’s even faster in this form and on top of being inhumanly cold as previously stated, she radiates cold due to using much more of her actual power, even if she isn’t Herrscher of Ice cold. Whisper of the Past also turns into the Key of Ego. This form is effectively a much more powerful version of her Base Form with not all that many differences.
Elysia's Powers — Herrscher of Origin Form

The pinnacle of Elysia's power, this form, shortened to Origin Form, is the form Elysia took when she was the Eyes of Finality known only as Origin, and is the manifestation of the full power of the Authority of Origin. She stops using a bow entirely, switching to a staff that allows her far better control of her crystal manipulation and lets her manifest her power in various other forms. These include waves of purple energy, various differing projectile barrages, and even manifesting an entire domain of her own that she has control over, as well as having a manta ray companion that fights with her.
Elysia is even colder in temperature in this form, her domain also being immensely frigid due to it being a simulacrum of outer space during the beginning of the universe based on her own memories. She uses ice much more prominently in this form and she uses lasers much more. Her manta ray lurks beneath the surface of the domain and crashes up through it as an attack, and sometimes opens cracks in the domain in order to shoot patterns of projectiles. There are various star-themed attacks she uses and the sheer power she bears in this form is beyond what has come before.
Elysia's Powers — All Forms - Perfect Mind Control & Defying Fate

The true power of the Authority of Origin, that being Elysia's ability to permanently alter someone's very self, their 'ego'. She can fundamentally change them as a person, change their current emotions, alter their memories, or make them do something she wants, via changing them mentally.
It's ultimately a mind link where Elysia links her mind with the other person's, and is a form of mind control, called 'perfect mind control', because she changes the person in a way where control no longer has to be exerted upon them and they remain the way Elysia wants them to be from there forward. Not even Elysia can reverse the changes she makes, only able to change the person again to a new state that resembles their previous one, but is ultimately different.
Because it is a mind link, those who have a strong enough will and enough power to notice and therefore resist the changes Elysia is trying to place onto them are able to invade Elysia mind in retaliation, leading them to be able to see her thoughts and memories and even hurt her within her mind. However, this is difficult due to Elysia being very skilled within the mind. She otherwise has her mind completely walled off to invaders, unable to be read at all.
The other aspect of the true power of the Authority of Origin is the ability to defy fate. As the former Eyes of Finality, Elysia was an observer who reported to Finality of what had occurred within Earth's samsara and thusly was an anomaly when she descended onto Earth.
None can read her fate because she has no fate, she is a being who is always excluded from the threads of destiny because she was never supposed to live her own life This grants her the chance to change fate and even destroy its threads, however the latter of which costs her life to accomplish due to the sheer power she must use.
However, she will always choose to use her Authority to help humanity however she can. If it ultimately costs her life, so be it; her unending love for her humanity means she will endure whatever she must, so that humanity might triumph, and live on bravely.

Life Chatter
Talkin' about life beneath the cut.
It feels like there's a lot going on? I'm not sure where to start.
Heath
My husband had a minor health scare, and when we called our primary... Ah, turns out they were bought sometime since we last went, and we are no longer patients. But don't worry, we can see you in late April for your chest pains!
He went to an urgent care place, where they found that he has high blood pressure. They put him on a month of medication until he can see his new primary. We have a million doctor's appointment in March, both of us to start a new primary relationship somewhere else (it's rated a lot better than the old place anyway, to be honest), and some additional specialized appointments for my husband. About a week later, he is already in the high end of a healthy blood pressure, so please don't worry.
To be frank, we haven't properly cared for our health since before the pandemic. I mentioned to my husband, "I got blood work like... Before the pandemic? Three years ago?" And he was gently like, "Love, that was five years ago."
I always thought I understood what we lost to the pandemic, more or less. But the way time has smeared, five years becoming three in my head, all that lost medical care because I thought going to where sick people congregated was worse than not going, and then losing the habit of seeking annual care...
It's definitely past time to reclaim those habits. Routine preventative care, diet, and exercise. Honestly, we're not guaranteed timely medical care at all in the USA (we'll see you in two months for your chest pain), let alone affordable care. The onus is on me to have healthy habits and lose the weight I gained since the pandemic.
So, that's what I've been doing for the last week and a half. Eating healthier food and exercising. I want to say that I'm energized and feeling great, but uhhh.
I'm fucking exhausted. I have been passing out on my sofa at 9 PM.
Work
We moved our lab at work. It's wonderful, because I was a lab hobo for a year who um. When we hired more people than we had benches, we changed to, "No one has their own bench, it's hot seating." Except everyone who worked there before me had their stuff set up; that was their bench, and if I was working there when they entered, they looked at me like, "Wtf are you doing." It was extremely othering, having to apologize for doing your work in someone else's spot, knowing you could be asked to move any time.
I have my own bench, at least for now. The issue is that our lab is on the fifth floor on the opposite end of our huge ass, rectangular building. Our office sitting area is on floor two on the other end of the rectangle. I've been clocking 8,000 to 10,500 steps per day, and up to 78 minutes of elevated heart activity (ie, exercise minutes), just from... Existing at work. It was probably a bad time to combine this with exercise and calorie reduction, lmao! I didn't realize how much more exercise I would get at work.
On one hand, I get paid to be healthier at work. Cool. On the other, I do wonder- How would I get through my day if I were pregnant or injured? Those days when you feel a little off, but not actually ill, are going to be a lot harder now.
In happy news, I got my rewards letter for 2023, and um. My bonus? It's literally 8x my annual bonus at my last company. I would have had to work for 8 years and be awarded 8 times to get this money that I am receiving after 1 year here (well- I guess it's always 1.25 years, since you receive benefits at the end of Q1 the following year, but for some reason, every company I've worked at has done the same).
So like... Work hard, be paid hard is certainly better than work hard, be paid poorly/okay-ly. I do see that. But I am kind of laughing at how it comes at a time when work suddenly has a forced exercise element, lol! And a colleague the other day turned to me and said, "You know, fifteen years ago, I never would have dreamed of companies hiring beyond their space. Like, people not having a desk or a bench, or your sitting area being so far from your work area. What are we doing? What are we accepting, as workers?"
And I was like, "YEAH FUNNY STUFF, HUH."
Creating
I read a book for the first time in ages. I currently have four more book requests in at my local library. I've been trying to get back into reading, which was so vital for me all my life.
To be honest, as more pressures rise against fandom creators as people and AI steal their work and profit from it, I feel less inclined to share my work online. I have still been working on it, so if my mood shifts, the content will be there. But I'd say the pace of my work has decreased a lot.
The last thing I ever want to do is guilt anyone. But the risks of sharing our work online are greater than they've ever been, and the response to it from readers/viewers is lower than it's ever been, at least in my experience. I would really suggest that readers/viewers be as encouraging as possible if the content they are receiving is meaningful to them. I feel like so many of us are one more blow away from reducing/abandoning our online presence.
Mental Health
So I've been struggling lately with thinking- is this it? Is this my life? Work and be tired all the time? And I have the benefit of working and being tired all the time, but not having financial stress. It must be infinitely worse if you aren't making enough money on top of all that, which is true for a lot of Americans. Although if I were to have a kid, that financial stress would be born with the child...
Taking better care of myself does make me feel more like... Hm, a little more hopeful? Like I am planning for a tomorrow instead of watching the years ooze on? But it's also difficult and tiring, and energy was already low.
I am trying to plan some fun upcoming stuff with my husband. Little day outings and weekend getaway type things. The issue I think is that... Doing stuff truly seems worse since the pandemic? Paying so much more for so much less, going there and everything being so crowded that you can't get service or see anything, etc. I need to figure out ways to receive positive stimulation and have fun, without setting off my sensory issues or hemorrhaging money. Again, though, putting time and energy into that is not easy.
That's where I am now! I hope you're all hanging in there and maybe feeling a bit better as winter wanes and spring approaches. I love you and I'm hoping for the best for you <3

(uhhh fuckin, wano act 2 spoilers, idk. i dont typically liveblog on tumblr. im at 943 rn.)
rarghhhhhhhh ok so. im not even done with the episode at this point but everything is going so bad for everyone except the strawhats, who are actively in battle so we'll fuckin see. the heart pirates... basil fucking hawkins i want his HEAD he's so fucking CRUEL and just... ugh the CRUELTY on display coming from kaido et al. kid and killer.... like... dude..... fucking KILLER..... i knew i recognized that face (from tumblr, not from the fascinating masked man) and just. oh g-d. oh that is the WORST thing. orochi and kaido steal your dignity and your pride and they are just... so fucking awful.
there's a theme all across one piece of luffy, freedom, vs. a controlling force trying to kill or control more. we know this. within this is luffy going against someone who controls others' specific actions, makes people do what they don't want to do. in thriller bark, dressrosa, and now in wano, (and also others but listen idr) the problem society faces is that someone is taking over their bodies. im putting a pin on connecting thriller bark to these two (short answer: its about someone changing how you're seen) but. i mean we know the connection between dressrosa and wano. we're all one piece fans here.
the POINT is. orochi and doflamingo and kaido and such are powerful people specifically in their ability to remove people's individual free will. doffy takes away movement and narrative/how one is perceived, orochi and kaido take away people's means of living (food) and means of expression (the fucking smile fruit). SMILE makes me so damn mad in a way that doffy's actions never quite did, because it is truly removing a person's... communication, essentially. the way they are seen and can connect with the world is, even if orochi and kaido are dead and gone, forever altered. they're always laughing, but the people fed SMILE who didn't get an animal are silenced. the truth of their lives is hidden and even if they try to explain anything, SMILE essentially scrambled the social signal to such an extent that the message can't go through properly. it's a terrifying thing, to not only be unable to express the emotions you want to, but to be wholly unable to express anything BUT joy. SMILE doesn't just make them laugh and smile, it- either directly or as a ripple effect/coping mechanism- changes how people talk about things, makes people sound optimistic, take things lightly, and overall reduce any weight to their words. they're seen as fools when all they are are victims with their mouths taped shut. and i fucking HATE it.
which brings me to killer.
im just seething with rage tbh. killer's identity has been shattered. the things he cares about have been removed. eating a SMILE, losing his mask- he lost his dignity and his pride and it just hurts to look at. he... has been changed to such a degree. they even changed his fucking name (i think??? at least like... the common name others use for him.) i want him to never smile again if thats what he wants.
AND ALSO THEYRE BEING TAUNTED AND TORTURED AND THATS JUST. REALLY FUCKING MEAN.
i see. now. why wano is like... very much so... of COURSE the place where luffy ends up. and i think. from what ive gathered on this here website. of course wano is where gear 5 happens. they NEED that freedom. luffy save me. luffy. save me luffy.

Trends Come and Go; an Eating Disorder is Forever

Flashback to the year 2007. The year of the first iPhone, Tumblr has just launched, and the skinny epidemic floods Hollywood. Jessica Alba, Victoria Beckham, and "pre-thic" Rihanna were the body types we as a society reached to achieve. Pro-Ana or pro-anorexia support is easily accessible on Tumblr, celebrities flaunt their quick weight shed and in turn teenage girls and boys equate hunger to happiness. The National Eating Disorder Association states that 9% of the population is affected by an Eating Disorder. With most of these symptoms being active from ages 12-25, it is no wonder that Eating Disorders seem to be a typical part of growing up in the United States.
Now we're back in the year 2022. Thick thighs and big butts were only the "hot trend" for a decade before the skinny era began to reemerge. Low rise jeans make a comeback, the Kardashian's shed their BBL's for petite physiques, and pro Ana has made a reappearance online in the form of cutesy diet challenges on tick tock. As we speed backwards in time towards the trend of collar bones and thigh gaps, I watch around me as everything feels all too familiar, like I have been down this dark road before.
In idolizing celebrities like Bella Hadid for existing while thin, are we creating a new generation of individuals who struggle with their appearance because for some reason it isn't enough to just be how you were made? Squats or a procedure to get a large butt one year then starving yourself and chain-smoking cigarettes for a gaunt figure the next year; when will we stop letting trends decide our worth?
Eating Disorders come in all shapes and sizes. Symptoms may begin at age 13, but can stay with you for a lifetime. Failure to eat and provide the body with vitamins while it develops is detrimental. Growth, the digestive and nervous system, and the menstrual cycle are all severely affected when not nurtured.
What started as a community on Tumblr that posted aesthetically pleasing photos of thin girls, turned into shared tips on how to lose weight, turned into a lifetime mending a broken relationship with food. Simple acts like packing myself lunch or eating in a group were things I had to relearn properly in adulthood. Food does not and may not ever come naturally to me, and this is mostly due to my less than savory relationship with it during those formative years.
Our bodies are not a trend, it is the one and only vessel to get us through this lifetime, therefore we need to treat it with respect and thank it for everything it achieves. After all, if we are constantly trying to change ourselves to fit the tabloids, how can we be who we are truly meant to be?
We have seen this road before and some of us have wandered down it. Join me this time in lighting the other paths of self love and acceptance to show our youth that these are options.

I'm gonna talk about weight for a sec. I don't like to do it or focus on it bc I don't think it should be a focal point of my thoughts or conversations (in fact I viscerally hate it as a topic most times bc I've seen what obsessing over it can do), hence me never talking about it, but I'm gonna do it now anyway bc I had a dawning realisation.
During my childhood and teen years, I played badminton. I played it three times a week, including regional competitions. It is a big stamina sport and I was FIT. I was also young so I probably had a naturally faster metabolism just due to my age.
But when I moved out and went off to college and uni, I stopped playing. Access to local clubs was harder, or it collided with other things I gave priority, I didn't know the other club members, had a whole new life routine, etc etc etc. Many different reasons. But I stopped exercising. I tried the gym for a little while, but. Well. ADHD. Routines are a BITCH and there is NOTHING compelling about the gym, not in the way badminton is. There is a vast difference between playing a game without even thinking of exercise, and exercising for the sake of exercise. Boring. The brain won't allow it.
On top of this, my diet changed from homemade meals from scratch with plenty of healthy ingredients, to ready-made meals, takeout, and eventually some alcohol a couple of times a week when I started drinking (took me a while to start drinking, but I got there in the end - student life in Scotland caught up to me). Processed foods, burgers and chips and pizza and beer etc all became a more regular part of life.
And when I tell you I gained weight in my student years, I mean it. I went from 65kg to close to 90kg in the span of 6 years. I wasn't very happy about it, but I didn't often make it a massive focus in my mind, bc I didn't want to focus on weight (and I'm kinda glad for it - it's easy to hyperfixate on things like that, and that could've gotten mentally very unhealthy. In my most depressive period, my weight and stress eating did get to me, and I was mentally beating myself up on the regular for a brief period. It hurt. It sucked). I did try especially during my later uni years to be a little more healthy every now and then, but again, little to no exercise + intense study/work load and an increase in anxiety (when I tell you Brexit fucked me up a little mentally I'm not joking) did not help me to have the energy to cook for myself several times a week.
Now here's the kicker. I've graduated and gone home again, back to my parents. I'm still not properly exercising (aka no gym or badminton), but I am walking and cycling more, and my diet has gone back to what it was - cooked meals that are almost guaranteed to be healthier than junk food, not too many snacks, less alcohol intake now that I'm doing better mentally. I'm not actively trying to lose weight. I'm not dieting, I'm not hitting the gym three times a week. I'm just living my life in a way that is better for me mentally and I'm taking things easy.
And in the 2.5 years that I've been home, I've dipped under 80kg. I rarely check my weight - again, I don't like to preoccupy myself with it - but this morning the scales said 78.6kg. Basically a 10kg difference from my heaviest point in life during my student years. (I don't think I weighed that much when I came home, I think my weight was already slowly going down during those last uni years). And while I don't want to conflate weight and numbers with health, especially not generalised health (what may be a "healthy" weight for me is either far too much or far too little for someone else), I am glad to see it.
Why?
Because I'm not burning it off. I'm not pushing my body through starvation and intense exercise. I'm not forcing any yo-yo effects or whatever. I'm simply seeing the result that comes from a healthier lifestyle, and I am happy to see it happen so gradually. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. I don't need to be skinny tomorrow. I don't WANT to be skinny tomorrow (or in a year's time). I just wanna be healthy. I know I was healthy when I was 16, and while I know I'll likely never go back to physically being how I was back then (which is okay), sometimes I do wish I was a bit closer to those days. And knowing I'm closer now than I was 4 years ago is nice.
But the number on the scales isn't a goal for me, and it never will be. Nor is my circumference or size or whatever. My goal is to feel fit, rejuvenated, healthy. The number on the scales is just a more visible sign that my patterns and self-care have changed. That, spread over time, bodies change. That even little things have an effect on us. That I don't have to put my body through hell to be "healthy". And that is quite a soothing thought.
I intend to live a calm and (for me) healthy life. And for that, I've got all the time in the world.

Hyperthyroidism part 1 of 2- what it is, symptoms, and diagnosis story
I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at the age of 15. Hyperthyroidism AKA over active thyroid is a condition where your thyroid produces too much thyroxine hormone. It is a manageable condition with medication which I take daily and I have regular appointments with my endocrinologist for this condition...left untreated or not regularly managed under the care of a doctor hyperthyroidism can cause very serious issues that can be fatal...the major ones include heart attack, stroke, and thyroid storm but let's talk about what happened leading up to the diagnosis...
When I was 15 I was in a residential treatment facility for Orthorexia and anorexia nervosa. It was difficult at first for me to actually get diagnosed because many of the symptoms I was experiencing mimicked symptoms of someone who has anorexia and Orthorexia & is either actively engaged in the unhealthy behaviors of these eating disorders or is going through the re-feeding process[which I was in that time]. The symptoms I was experiencing were rapid weight loss and extremely fast metabolism despite what I ate, over heating easily and often, high levels of anxiety, fidgety, antsy, need to be doing something constantly, irritable- lower than average tolerance to frustration/inconveniance/ annoyance ,hair loss, trembling in hands and fingers, fatigue, insomnia, my skin was always damp and clammy to the touch, I had issues with digestion...everything I ate went right through me very quickly so I was in the bathroom a lot, I was experiencing irregular heart beat [heart murmur], my stomach hurt pretty much constantly and I was forever bloated . So if you are reading this & you are not familiar with eating disorders and the effects of them and the effects of early recovery and re-feeding let me just tell you that almost every one of those symptoms could be attributed to eating disorders and re-feeding. All the professionals at the residential I was at understandably took my symptoms and complaints as part of my eating disorders, malnourishment and being early in to re-feeding. The problem was the symptoms continued, even got worse as time went on and I was losing more and more weight. I actually ended up being accused multiple times by the staff , my therapist, nutritionist and psychiatrist at the residential of secretly exercising while in treatment, purging, hiding food...doing something I was NOT supposed to be doing to cause my weight loss to continue....I was becoming thinner and sicker being treated for my eating disorders and it was absolute hell because ironically I was not engaging in any of the things I was being accused of but the treatment center still treated me as if I was...I was given a feeding tube, put on one to one observation with a staff member 24/7 which meant I had to be with a staff member no matter what...a staff had to watch me while I slept, while I ate, showered, used the bathroom, sat in group, walked down the hall etc. It went even further to where I was put on wheelchair restriction so I was not allowed to walk anymore to keep me from losing weight . None of that helped and I got worse - my blood work showed that my kidneys were not functioning properly, ekgs showed my heart murmur was getting worse- I was very weak, my neck and eyes looked puffy and swollen, my stomach pain increased and I was nauseous most of the time. The residential sent me to the hospital at this point and after 4 days in the hospital I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and put on medication. I spent 6 days total in the hospital and then went back to the residential treatment center. I have no underlying condition or disease that caused my hyperthyroidism and it is not something that is brought on by eating disorders...it is just something I developed. According to my doctors my hyperthyroidism is pretty severe which presents more risk of other complications mostly with my heart, my eyes, my bone density, and reproductive organs. It is a little worrisome because I already have heart problems and have already had a heart surgery. I already have the sort of precursor to osteoporosis known as osteopenia and my reproductive organs have long ago bit the dust [I am completely infertile/sterile] due to struggling with eating disorders from age 7 - age 15. On medications for my hyperthyroidism- my symptoms are less & much more manageable however there are things I have to avoid but that will be covered in part 2

Why Is Nutrition So Important?

A healthy diet is crucial to allow your body to function effectively and remain healthy. Six kinds of nutrients make up food. These nutrients include macronutrients, protein, carbohydrates as well as fats and micronutrients which include minerals and vitamins. It can be challenging to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle, lose weight, and live a happy life if your diet isn't the right combination.
If you have read any of my articles, you will see how I place such a big focus on the 3 macronutrients since they are the basis of your fitness or weight loss goals! In this regard I'll give you a brief description of the six classes of nutrients and discuss why they are essential for a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
1. Protein
2. Carbohydrates
3. Fats
4. Vitamins
5. Minerals
6. Water
Good nutrition is essential for building muscle.
Proteins break down in your body into amino acids after you eat protein-rich foods. These amino acids are then used to build and repair any muscles. This is great news for those who train or are physically active. This will allow you to recover faster than if protein is not consumed. Protein is a crucial component of every tissue within the body. It is essential to ensure you are getting sufficient protein from your diet. Your immune and nervous system also depend on protein.
Good Nutrition Provides Energy
When talking about nutrition and our bodies my preferred analogy is the racecar. To maintain your car's optimal performance, it is essential to maintain it with regular fuel, change the oil frequently and get new tires. You'll eventually be devalued in your body when you fail to do these things. But, if the correct actions are taken and followed, you'll be on your way to a healthier lifestyle and reaping the rewards that come with this.
Carbohydrates are a food that gives you energy to get through the day. Glycogen is a key ingredient to maintain the energy levels of your day. After you consume carbs, the pancreas produces the hormone insulin. Insulin assists in allowing the carbohydrates to be stored in the muscles, or in fat. The body stores carbohydrates that are also known as glycogen. Glycogen (stored carbohydrates) is essential to be present in your body prior to training. These will provide energy and assist in losing more fat in a shorter time.
Good Nutrition and Fats?
One of the most popular diet myths is that fats cause you to gain weight. In the first place that, without fats, you'll not be able to survive. They are one of three macronutrients. The stored fats are the main source of energy.
Fats are a source of 9 calories per gram. They keep your body warm during colder seasons. They lubricate joints, which gives you more flexibility and mobility in your exercise routine. Fats are also a dwelling spot for fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K. These vitamins are stored within our body's fat , and may be toxic if a large amount is consumed.
Most people don't know what the distinction is between monounsaturated, saturated and polyunsaturated oils. This is a typical misconception that I see. Take a look at my Truth About Fats Article for additional information.
Vitamins and Minerals
Minerals and vitamins are essential minerals that our bodies require to function properly but also allow chemical reactions to happen in a quicker rate. They are required just like the 3 macronutrients, but only in small quantities. Vitamin B complex is beneficial for health because they reduce carbs, which will provide you with energy. Although vitamins and minerals are available from certain foods, they are often not sufficient to support the healthy lifestyle and weight loss.
Don't Forget About Your Water
The people who are overweight or unhealthy don't drink sufficient fluids. This is among the biggest problems I see. They substitute water for sugary sodas, or other drinks that are high in sugar. Around 65% of our bodies are composed of water. It is essential for our bodies to live. Water is as vital as a nutritious diet. It also acts as a cleanse and detox your body.

An ounce of prevention is certainly better than a pound of cure. Here are seven tips on how to live a long and healthy life. In addition, the same life style that helps you to avoid illness also helps you to lose weight.

1. Get Enough Exercise
In the past people had to use their physical bodies in the course of their normal work. But today someone may get up, go to work in a car, then sit down, get up to go home in the car and when arriving at home, sit down again for the rest of the day. In such a life there is no physical labor. This physical inactivity is one of the main reasons for a host of diseases. Sport, running. walking and other things must be added to our life if our normal work does not require us to exert ourselves physically. I
2. Go to sleep when you feel sleepy
This may sound simple, but many people stay up late even when their body is telling them that it is time to sleep. Yoga and Ayurvedic doctors also say that it is better to sleep in the night and be active during the day. However, people such as students will take coffee and stimulants to study late into the night. Others develop the habit of remaining active at night and sleeping during the day. While we can do this, it eventually takes a toll on health. Alternative health doctors say that this kind of unnatural living is one of the contributing factors in the causation of cancer and other diseases
3. Eat when you feel hungry
This is also a simple idea, but once again we often go against the messages of the body. If you eat out of habit or due to social pressure at certain time of the day, even when you have no real appetite, then you will not digest your food properly. Acidity and indigestion begin, and this contributes to the likelihood of other more complex diseases taking root. Having an appetite is actually a sign of good health, but if you have no appetite you should wait a bit and then eat. (If you have no appetite even after awaiting a reasonable amount of time, then you should consult a doctor because something is wrong.)
4.Fast on a Regular, Systematic Basis
If you would ask any person to work 365 days per year without any rest, they would complain and say that they must have some rest or else they will break down. But we have never bothered to ask or to think about our digestive organs which we compel to work day after day without a rest. They cannot protest the way a person would to his boss, but they do give us signals that they cannot work non-stop. When we ignore those signals and still compel them to work, those organs break down. That is why periodic fasting is necessary. Refrain from eating for one complete day. This gives a rest to your digestive organs and also helps in the elimination of wastes from your body. Regular fasting allows a person to gain extra time for intellectual or spiritual pursuits. Fasting is not for hermits in a cave, but is a sensible practice that anyone can practice.
5. Wash with cool water before going to bed
As mentioned above, proper sleep is essential for the maintenance of health. If you wash your important motor and sensory organs (hands, arms, eyes, legs, mouth, genitals) before sleep using cool water, this will relax you and prepare you for deep sleep.
6. Perform meditation on a regular basis
Your body is linked to your mind. Many of the diseases of this era are psychosomatic. Stress and anxiety take their toll on our physical health. Meditation is a mental exercise which, among other things, allows you to detach yourself from the worries of life. Learn a simple technique and do it regularly.
7. Get up early every day
Once again the old proverb, “Early to bed, early to rise makes a person healthy, wealthy and wise.” I don’t know if it will make you wealthy, but it will certainly make you healthy. Your body needs just enough sleep, not too much and not too little.

Just like the rest of your body, your hormones are influenced by the food you eat, the environment you live in, & the activities you do. But did you know that your digestive system is also connected to your hormone production & breakdown?
Your gut is home to trillions of bacteria & microorganisms. They help with digestion & fight off infections. Some of them are in charge of modulating your hormone production & breakdown. (I do free weights mostly these days but the same applies for machines. I can also add info about at home workouts as well if you'd like. The principles are the same at their core, but it'll be a little different since a lot people dont have full gyms or a wide set of weights at home)
Easing in and misc information: start at a low weight and focus on form, 100%. You can still go up in weights its just form is important (a lot of the time if I'm feeling pain trying to do a lift its because my form was off). Do warm-up sets to warm up the muscles. So if you're doing 40 lbs on a machine instead of jumping right to that weight you'd use do a set of 30 then a set of 35 and then start doing your 40s. Pick a weight that challenges you but not to the point where you cant properly do the exercise or control your movement, for example using your whole body momentum to lift the weight or letting the machine slam back in place instead of gently releasing. To build muscle you have to have weights that are heavy enough to cause muscle damage that way the body heals the muscle and they heal stronger. So increasing weight is an important part of that muscle building. Of course once you get to a place you're happy with and don't care about gains and would rather maintain the muscle you have, you can do the opposite. Lift weights but put no particular effort into progressing your strength building.
As for recovery: eating, resting, and stretching.
Recovery Eating: you have to eat to support working out. it reduces the length of time youre sore and fuels the workout itself. it sounds like youre wanting to change body composition without losing weight which means youd want to gain then maintain muscle and lose body fat. it is possible for the body to start cannibalizing muscle during workouts if theres no where else to pull that energy from. protein is very also important since that is what the body uses to repair muscle.
Rest: don't do too much. meaning outside of your workouts don't also go training for a marathon or other strenuous activities. itll be counter productive; bodies can only take so much. a nice walk, yoga, or mobility work won't hurt so on off days those are no problem. it gives your body rest to build and repair on those days you dont workout. Sleep is important its when the body repairs and regrows tissue, muscle, etc.
Stretching: I don't have much to say, general mobility helps. A regular stretch routine will help, I do a simple 5 minute one before my workout and unless I'm feeling a little tight I rarely need to go longer. 5 Minute Daily Mobility Routine! | Follow Along | Full Body (youtube.com) This is the one I used a lot. On days off I find a yoga youtube video and do 15-30 mins.
Soreness I can't say how long is too long. But no workout should leave you so sore to the point that sitting down is be painful. You can look at soreness as the gap between the exercise and what you did to rebuild them in the hours and days afterwards in terms of getting proper amounts of water, food, and rest. If you set the right pace for yourself and do the necessary things for recovery there's really no time you should feel debilitatingly sore after a workout. On days where I may have pushed myself a little too hard on a previous workout I'll go on a walk or spend some time doing relaxed stretching on off days.
Recomposition I mentioned this at the beginning but what youre aiming for is recomp. So while you cant target specific fat building muscle will help overall. The reason is that muscle burns more calories at rest than fat does. Without getting too deep into it that means through the day you will burn more calories while just doing your normal day to day. which means the body is drawing on fat storage more throughout the day for that energy
Routine The best routine is one you can stick with. There were way too many times I made a 5 days a week routine that was me lifting in the gym, doing gymnastics things, and doing hour long yoga. It was unsustainable and after a point I stopped working out altogether. Now I'm at 3-4 times a week, I allow plenty of flexibility. meaning if I miss day 2 that's on Wednesday for whatever reason, it's fine I can do it Thursday then day 3 on Saturday and it'll be a week where I do 3 workouts and thats fine. Personally, I don't like spending a lot of time in the gym or working out lol. So unless I am doing more exercises than usual, it doesn't go over an hour and is normally about 45 minutes.
This is a quick and dirty run down. If you have any questions or want specific information or routine help or anything like that let me know and I'll help. And honestly if you don't find lifting weights fun there's so many activities that'll still help build muscle. I did pole dancing for 2 years and did very simple weights once a week. Right now I'm trying to find a rock climbing place because I need a break from lifting. hope this helps :)
