so I'm currently all over the place with my wips, and had a few bad days when I didn't write at all lol - but last night I made some progress on the natalia fic (that finally has a title, I think lol) - I just need one more scene, with Eddie, and it's gonna be done haha (also need some editing to buck's internal monologue during his realization bc it's a mess lol)

But, shit. He thinks Natalia was right – he’s in love with Eddie. And Eddie might just love him back.
He looks at Natalia with wide eyes, and is met with a gentle, understanding smile.
“Shit.” he exhales. “Natalia, I’m so sorry-”
“Buck.” she interrupts with a small headshake, then waves him off. “Don’t worry, it’s fine. I promise.” she adds, sounding so genuine and sweet. She’s really so nice and so cool, and maybe in another lifetime she could be it for him, really. As it is, Buck’s heart belongs to someone else, apparently. “I really hope you two are happy together.” she adds, and from anyone else it might’ve sounded a little bit bitter, but not from her. She’s as earnest as she’s always been.
“If he even feels the same.” Buck says quietly, though there’s a part of him that really thinks that won’t be a problem.
“He does. He looks at you the way you look at him, Buck. Trust me, he loves you.” Natalia says with a smile, then chuckles. “I can’t believe I didn’t see it for so long, it seems so obvious now.”
“That you didn’t see it for so long?” Buck raises an eyebrow. “I didn’t know I was head over heels in love.” laughter bubbles out of him, as he feels lighter than air, this new realization making everything slot into place, it’s like everything suddenly makes sense.

we all know i love a good writers game but i've done the wip game so many times that it's genuinely become redundant so i've decided to make my own little game!
rules: share the first line (or two or more!) of every current wip you have (that you feel comfortable sharing) and tag some writer friends! feel free to add the titles of your documents if you see fit

Lucy Heartfilia and the cold were two things that were wholly and completely incompatible. A light breeze at the beginning of fall was enough to have her teeth chattering and she somehow lacked the ability to ever pick a seasonally appropriate outfit at the beginning of the day.
Cuffing Season
The warm summer months bring with them a surge of job postings tacked upon the board at the guild, which always have everyone eager to get in on the Jewel rush before settling down as the temperature begins to drop with the change of seasons.

The sunlight that streamed through the window would have been pleasant any other morning—Lucy would have revelled in the light and warmth it provided to her, relishing the feeling for just a moment or two longer than she needed as she snuggled up nice and cosy in her sheets before she woke up, refreshed and ready to take on a new day.

Natsu wasn’t entirely sure how he’d managed to get himself dragged into this. There were few things he hated more than grocery shopping—there were too many people, and sounds, and lights, and decisions, and food that he couldn’t eat until he got home.

Lucy was a creature of routine. Thursdays were her self-care nights—something she made abundantly clear to anyone she thought might interrupt her alone time (Natsu and Happy).

Lucy still felt giddy every time they so much as brushed hands and Natsu never made any attempt to hide the wide grin and heart eyes he sent in her direction every time they were around.

The dialogue and subsequent laugh track playing from the television went in one ear and out the other, little more than background noise as Natsu lazed around on the couch.

The sigh of relief that Lucy lets out as they step into her apartment is a familiar one—one that Natsu has heard a million times over at the end of the day, after a job well done.

Lucy paused her monologue, waiting for her partner to interrupt, as was written in the script, only to be met with silence. Upon looking over at Natsu, she found him lying on the bed lazily looking over the script in hand but clearly not paying any mind to his scene partner.

The soft tap of fingers against keys filled the quiet as the receptionist looked through the vacant rooms of the inn, Natsu and Lucy waiting patiently on the other side of the desk.
“And was that one bed or two?” The woman asked, looking up at the couple.
“One.” “Two.”

I've heard of ppl complaining about ur writing speed and posting schedule but it's honestly ridiculous. like you actually write insanely fast. it is incredible that you have managed to write over 150,000 words (in very high quality writing might I add 🫶) in like 10 months !!
thank u lol honestly i feel like i’ve had relatively little bs 2 deal w compared 2 the flack i’ve seen some other fic writers get etc but i have def like. had conversations w some other fic writers abt how strange it feels 2 get people immediately commenting on chs like “when will the next ch be out?” or sending messages etc asking abt posting schedules…idk i have conflicted feelings bc on the one hand im like well maybe i just did this 2 myself by having unusually fast & consistent posting schedules at various points w past fics but on the other hand i do try 2 make it v clear when like. my posting is gonna slow down…& also i v much do not think it should be considered standard 4 people 2 be updating wips weekly or monthly etc like when i was writing a fic 4 a different fandom before i joined this one i took like a four month break in the middle of posting w no warning & no one complained abt it lol.
& it’s also like. i do understand that none of those comments/messages etc r ill intended & usually people will tack on a little ‘no pressure!’ but unfortunately i am going 2 pressure myself regardless…which i have had 2 actively work on bc i was like. i cannot keep stressing myself out over arbitrary deadlines i set for something that’s supposed 2 be a hobby!! so i might just be extra sensitive abt it now & if one of those messages catches me on a day where im stressed abt other stuff etc (frequent occurrence recently lol) then like. no matter how nicely it’s phrased it still doesn’t feel nice. & i understand wanting 2 know but i also don’t think u should read a wip unless ur actually prepared 2 a) deal w the story however it goes [separate complaint that i’ve been discussing w my fic writing friends lmao] and b) wait however long it takes 4 chs w no expectations abt regularly-scheduled posting. so!
anyway not sure 2 what extent this is like a new phenomenon or expectations have actually changed…one friend who’s been like. writing fic way longer than i have told me they do feel like there’s been a sort of shift across various fandoms w this new expectation that fic writers r posting regularly quickly & consistently. like maybe bc fic has become more ‘mainstream’ etc there are an influx of people who r bringing in new standards that sort of echo what they’d expect 4 other forms of media but like. when u take a step back & think abt it it’s a little wild 2 want or expect some random guy 2 be providing u w weekly entertainment for free…have seen a few people being like “ugh we need a new big wip that everyone’s reading & talking abt” & im like. oh so u want someone 2 kill themself lmao like everyone i know who’s had their fic treated like the fandom’s ~tv show~ that they tune in for every week has had a horrible horrible time lol

☆ STATISTICS.

projects worked on: technically i only wrote for Andromeda Rogue but i did rotate my other side wips rather violently in my head. like this is not a gentle rotisserie chicken rotating, this is a full-on centrifuge machine
proudest accomplishment: this is the month i've written the most all year ????? also i reached over 50K on AR draft 2!!!
books read: Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo; Artificial Condition (Murderbot Diaries #2) by Martha Wells; and i've also just started A Rival Most Vial by writeblr's very own @ashen-crest!
☆ GENERAL COMMENTS.
at what degree of sparse activity do i have to concede defeat call it a hiatus. i'm doing fine, i've just been really busy with work and haven't had time to devote to writeblr that much 😔
remember when i said i was gonna intro my Third, Secret WIP this month? yeah, that didn't happen. i'm trying to crack down on AR bc i have this goal of finishing this draft by my birthday in mid-May (although i don't think that's gonna happen at this rate...) so i don't think i'll be talking too much about my other wips here until then. but i'm definitely still playing with them every once in a while lol
uhh not much else to say as far as general writing comments go. have some reading comments: Hell Bent was good but felt a bit messier than the first book imo, 4 stars. Artificial condition absolutely fucked, 5 stars. and i'm not very far in A Rival Most Vial but i love love love it so far.

so yes this draft is coming along nicely.
right now i'm in the weird bit between the drama of the midpoint and the drama of the climax where things sort of slow down a bit... i'm trying to figure out if i need to add stuff to keep it from dragging but i'm stumped as to what.
i can't tell at what point i need to fix things now or leave things for Future Me. like i can't avoid my problems forever lmao i do have to become Future Me at some point...
there's also a few bits where i don't know if it's actually bad and needs to be fixed or if i'm just overthinking things lol. i've already bothered my rubber duckie (you know who you are <3) too many times for things that i thought were problems that in the end only needed the simplest of solutions... so maybe i need to just leave it be and see what my beta readers think?
speaking of betas... i'm a little *insert gif of me vibrating at the speed of sound* at the thought of people actually Reading My Writing... it feels like that might be happening soon... but i'm probably getting a bit ahead of myself 😅
☆ FEATURED EXCERPT.
i can never remember what i've posted for AR yet and what i haven't but i did change this scene a bit from the first draft. so without further ado, have some Azami being badass and standing up to a space pirate who had kidnapped her. warnings for weapons i guess, lmk if there's anything else i should warn for
With a smirk, Song let go of Azami’s wrist, and that was there he made the grave mistake of turning his back to her.
Petra caught Azami’s eyes flick down to his belt a split second before she pounced. Hands still tied, she gripped the handle of his plasma wand, yanked it out of its holster, and jabbed it at the back of Song’s head.
“Answer the question, asshole!” she shrieked.
Song stopped walking, but didn’t flinch. His smirk merely widened as he slowly turned around to face her. “Do you even know how to use that, sweetheart?”
Azami pointed the wand between his legs and squeezed a button. A flash of light filled the room as a blue laser shot out of the rusty handle. It flew just shy of Song’s crotch, singeing the fabric of his pants, before hitting the floor with a loud crack and a flurry of sparks. Petra yelped and jumped back. Song sucked in a sharp breath, finally dropping his cool demeanour.
“That was a warning. I’ll blast your balls clean off next time,” Azami promised, aiming the wand a bit higher.

sketches sketches sketches
got inspired by looking at some of those year end wips (by artists way better than me) and decided to post some old sketches i could find bc sometimes i enjoy the sketches more than the final illustration lol. so without further ado:
similar to the one of jon i posted above, here's a really ancient one of arya. don't know where i was going with this one i think it was just a doodle
here's a progress pic of the sansa collage i posted way back that looks godawful to me now but whatever. hashtag behind the scenes
i made a whole bunch of collages that i never got around to posting (i should). here's a progress pic of one of those (as you can see i colour the necessary bits first, then add the cutouts, then the final lineart):
and here's a screenshot i took in the middle of drawing the cat and brienne scene. i actually think i overworked it a little, i liked it better with flats (also the colours look like ass here, they always look more vibrant in procreate but when i export the pics they end up super desaturated. idk why)
NOW to the fun part! so when i first read the books way back i had this notebook that i doodled scenes that i liked or made an impact on me (i guess) in. i might or might not post some in the future - they're simple pencil doodles and super old and certified rubbish but they're still kinda funny because of that lol. in any case here are a few of them in the rough sketch stage:

Writing Info
I write every day, but I write and post at my own pace, the pace my irl life allows. If something is listed in my wips, I’m working on it so please don’t demand content from me.
The stuff I write is usually explicit, and even when it’s not has mature, dark, or unsettling natures to it. Not every fic will include these topics but beware they may contain incest, a/b/o, monsterfucking, horror, yandere etc. Here’s a little link to give you an idea on more, listing them can get tedious so i keep it separate and update it as I go.
I don’t do requests (commissions aside) but if you want to tell me your thoughts on a character, or maybe put them in a messy little situation, it might spark something in my mind and a little something might come of it, you never know ;3
what do i not write... hm. scat. vore. the Obvious. Other than that this is a really tough Q bc my mood switches up a lot. Sometimes I go on a single trope spree, other days I will write criminal level fluff in one hour and shiver inducing dark alley shit in the next. I have so much range, please expect me to use it.

💗Is there a scene you can’t wait to write for a WIP?
In Shadow AU, I'm really excited to write the scene where Quinlan first sees Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan has been very quiet and reserved with Anakin for a couple of days and isn't behaving normally. Because of some stuff that is said/not said or emotions that are felt/not felt (plus a very invasive force suppression mechanism having been installed five years ago), Anakin believes that Obi-Wan doesn't actually remember much of his life as a Jedi. For a while, Obi-Wan very much seems to not recognize Anakin himself, which makes Anakin really upset.
So Quinlan shows up, and Anakin is bringing him to see Obi-Wan and he's trying to prepare Quinlan for all of this by saying "FYI, he might not remember you/he didn't remember me at first/just wanted you to be prepared for the reality," and Quinlan and Obi-Wan meet eyes in the middle of Anakin's warnings, which trail off. And Obi-Wan is sitting there, with very proper posture, on a chair by the window. And Quinlan goes still. And everything seems to freeze.
And Quinlan says to Anakin, without breaking eye contact with Obi-Wan, "Oh, he remembers me alright."
(Cue the slow frogboil of Anakin's raging insecurities.)
👻Is there a scene that you find intimidating that you have yet to write?
All of them, lmfao.
Um, one in particular that is really stressful is like a very short section in Every Shadow chapter 4 where Obi-Wan & Rex interact. It's not so much that I'm nervous to write them interacting. It's more that like... I have so much written after this scene and so many notes of things I have to remember to put in this scene that it's very overwhelming. T_T And I'm very worried I'll forget something. This is the same reason why chapter 3 took so long. Chapter 4 is going more quickly bc it's less intense than chapter 3 was, but it's still a Thing.
I usually have the drafts completely written of a fic before I start posting, and Every Shadow is no exception. But the notes/things to add earlier like this are always a problem in revision, no matter how complete the draft. (Like every chapter in 5pe has had this problem too haha.)

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Thanks for thinking of me @yoellglia ! I had fun reading your answers and even more so trying to answer myself :)
1. How many works do you have on A03?
Jeez, should I consider both of my accounts? Let's do it, why not.
I have 12 fics in total. 7 for Tennis RPF and 5 for the DC Universe.
2. What's your total A03 word count?
37,211 words combined. Ngl, I thought it would be less than that as there are only two multi-chaptered fics and the rest are one-shots. Hopefully, I'll add some more words in the upcoming months :)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently, I only write Tennis RPF. I've been toying with a few ideas for the Good Omens fandom, but I haven't opened a new doc yet. And I used to write for the DC Universe, but I haven't done that in ages.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
(I’m gonna keep this Tennis RPF only bc this blog is tennis themed)
Waking in the Night Light: Fedal share their first kiss in a parking lot.
A New Target: Fedal have sex in the locker room.
Moonlight in Paris: Rafa goes to Roger's hotel room.
Strawberry & Dulce de Leche: Roger and Rafa get ice cream.
Somewhere or Other: Fedal phone call.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes yes yes! At least I try to. Although more often than not I get the notification, reply in my head, then forget to actually write back, and I'm too embarrassed to answer if more than a week has gone by… so apologies for that. That doesn't mean I don’t appreciate every single comment I have ever gotten, they always make my day in fact.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Mmh… perhaps Moonlight in Paris. It's not angst per se but it does have an overall sense of uncertainty.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Strawberry & Dulce de Leche, definitely. Rafa's joy at the possibility of Roger going to his birthday party is everything.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No, thankfully. I’m glad I haven't unlocked that side of fandom yet.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do, but I consider myself a newbie at it (smut writers, pls teach me your ways).
Generally speaking, I prefer it when smut has a little plot. It doesn't have to be anything complicated or serious, I just need a bit of a story behind what's happening for it to feel more organic. I also like it when the focus is on the emotional aspect of it, though descriptive can be nice as well. And I don't mind wordy smut as longs as it doesn't mess with the flow.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Nope, and I'm not a big fan of those tbh
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Story time! Yes 💀 Although it wasn't the whole thing, just a fragment. The fic in question was None but the Lonely Heart for the DCEU. And I only found out bc a lovely person left a comment on my fic, letting me know what had happened and the link to the other fic. I checked and the writer had indeed literally copied and pasted one of my scenes, they'd just changed the names of the characters. So I reached out to the AO3 team and they took care of everything.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No. Stef and I had an idea for a Fedal fic, but who knows if we'll ever get to actually write it lol
14. What's your all time favourite ship?
I don't think I have one, really. I would say my main ones/the ones I keep coming back to are Fedal (Roger Federer/Rafael Nadal) and Superbat (Superman/Batman). Though right now I've been reading almost exclusively Ineffable Husbands (Aziraphale/Crowley), so it mostly depends on my hyperfixation at the time
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Oof, that might be a Superbat (long) fic set post BvS, where resurrected Clark has lost his powers (and the sun seems to actually make him sick now), so Bruce helps him to get back on his feet and of course they fall in love in the process. I have the whole thing outlined, sheets of dialogues and a couple of scenes already fleshed out, but I took a break from the fandom bc it was draining me out. Idk, maybe one day I'll get back to it. I mean, never say never and all that, but it's looking highly improbable right now
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm good at setting the tone of scenes, be it fluffy, angsty, whatever.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I tend to write in long, long sentences. Seriously, you should see my drafts, sometimes a whole paragraph can be a single sentence. I don't know if it's due to my Spanish hard-wired brain or what, but I’m working on breaking things up a bit more.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I love it! But you need to make sure readers will still get the message through context, so I think it's best to stick to single words and/or common phrases. Unless, of course, you want to leave your character (and thus your readers) feeling confused.
I do it often when I’m writing Rafa and it's part of the reason I love writing him so much.

Tough question… can I say an unpublished one? I have this sort of introspection/character study of Domi, his struggles coming back on tour after the wrist injury and dealing with all the ups and downs. There's not a story to it per se, like I'm not trying to get him from A to B. It's just a dive into his mind, where it gets kinda dark real quick, and it's unlike what I usually go for in tennis fics (fluff), so I've been enjoying the challenge of getting out of my comfort zone there

I did answer a similar question before - you can find it here, maybe this helps a bit.
There are some general tips that in my experience help a lot. The first things that come to mind are create a masterlist, use tags, format your posts, add summaries & warnings, reply to comments & reblogs, post wip updates, etc.
I also believe it helps reading other fics & reaching out to other writers. But-BUT please only do that when you genuinely want to talk to them and actually like their stories. It's noticeable if you only do it to get reblogs or followers. Same goes for answering asks or comments btw. Don't talk to your readers bc you feel you have to in order to get attention. Do it because it's fun and you want to.
Write what you love. I know this sounds like such a cheesy tip but there is some truth to it. Keep writing what you enjoy and not what you think people will like. Like, for example, don't write smut only bc you think people will like it but you actually hate writing smut. I have stories on here that I wrote bc I thought that's what people wanted to read and on average, they didn't perform as well as the ones I actually wanted to write. Of course, it helps to look at "trends" but I think it's important to still enjoy writing it & making it your own in a way.
I also like to try out new things. Last week, I asked for blurb requests and a lot of people wanted pure fluff stories for Morpheus. I was hesitant at first bc I couldn't imagine writing for his character in only that context but then I tried it and I loved it. I completely fell in love with those blurbs & I can't wait to get to the remaining ones.
In the end, just try to have fun on here. (I know, easier said than done.) Comments & asks are pure fuel for a writers soul, I totally get that. Believe me, I do. It's one of the reasons why I always come back to writing fanfiction - the interaction in many fandoms is just so 🤌 But in my experience, with time comments and more attention will come. 🧡
Oh btw, there are specific times when your posts have a higher chance of being seen. I have absolutely no idea if that's the same for everyone (probably not) but for me I found that posting on the weekends always works well and posting between 11pm & 6am (my timezone: gmt+1).

I’m 9 fics away from having 400 fics on AO3!!! So I am trying to come up with titles for some of my WiPs that can begin to be published. Why are titles so hard???
Some fics that might be ready to post:
I’m just going through my docs to make a list, so there’s more than 9 here lol
Iorveth gets captured by the Throne3 and they head towards Temeria to deliver him to Roche. Maybe calling it Bound for Temeria? The main plot is that Gascon and Iorveth are shackled together (as a security measure; Gascon’s idea) and end up separated from the others. So they continue the journey and get to know each other lol
Post-W3 with Ciri getting ready to become Empress and Geralt is summoned before Emhyr bc he killed the Ofieri Prince in Hearts of Stone and that’s kind of a problem. Especially because Ofier is Nilfgaard’s only ally. Might not sound like it, but this is actually a Ciri/Cerys fic lol. Because the political solution to the mess is for Ciri to be arranged in marriage to the Malliq. And also to Morvran, bc she needs to consolidate power in the capital. But she’s with Cerys and scared of losing her. Meanwhile Cerys just wants Ciri to be able to feel like she has some control over her life.
Two fics in the same series:
One where Iorveth and Saskia approached Roche to try to recruit him to their side (both because it would be highly advantageous, but also because they wanna bone him)
One where Roche introduces Iorveth and Saskia to his mom, because when the plan goes into effect, everything will change and he wants them to know where to find him. Because they haven’t asked him to come with them when they leave for the Pontar Valley.
Hmm, I have a few Throne3 Meve/Gascon-centric shorts but idk if I wanna make a new shorts collection or just add to an existing one. On the other hand, I don’t think I have a TB-specific one yet.
Reynard and Roche share a few words about Gascon at a diplomatic party. Not actually sure if this is a standalone or something that’s part of a series of like, conversations between different duos.
Okay, I’ve been calling this one the Northern Realms’ Party Favor, but that is not necessarily a good title lol. The tone is more serious than that implies. Kinda connected to the previous one in that the initial idea was pairing random duos up and seeing what conversations happened. But then it kinda turned into... porn with plot??? So the premise is that historically, when the Northern Kings meet, the host provides a “party favor” for them all to enjoy when negotiations are complete. Roche has served as the party favor in the past and ends up telling Gascon about it. Gascon decides it sounds fun and might be his only chance to ever be with Meve, so... This turns into Gascon gathering intel while getting fucked and somehow eventually leads to some confrontations about the Lodge of Sorceresses and also the throne3 get together.... somehow???
A Thronebreaker fic about Meve and Reynard discovering just what Caldwell promised the Strays and very much not understanding why Gascon would want Spalla and Scala.
I think I’ve shared snips of this one, but it starts with Meve and Gascon’s first clash when she has him captured and he refuses to be cowed. Then we get the power reversal where Gascon holds the key to letting Meve out of prison. And... tbh no idea what happens after that.
One where someone takes offense at a former criminal pretending at being respectable hanging around the queen and decides to do something about it. Gascon ends up a captive of an old ‘ally’ while the court thinks he got cold feet and ran and Meve tried very hard not to think that, especially because the alst thing he’d done was dance with her at a ball.
The Strays giving Meve and Reynard the shovel talk
A short fic that might be a 5+1 where people make armor/clothes for Knickers
A longfic about Dijkstra & Roche slowly developing respect for each other as they face off while Roche is Redania’s captive in the past interspersed with Roche being held captive somewhere in the present.
An isendain fic about their first meeting and how they get together
A fic where Iorveth is suspicious about what Roche has been up to in his forest. Meanwhile, Roche builds a cabin for Iorveth.
Okay, I haven’t gone through my rorveth WiP docs yet, but I gotta go to work, so for now, this is the list of options that need titles so I can publish them.

Hi! <3 Of course! It's one of my fave wips, tho I only get back to it when I'm especially sad bc it's a sad one lol (it is gonna be mcd)
idk if you're familiar with the death-cast series ("they both die at the end" and "the first to die at the end" books - if not, highly recommend, so fucking good) but it's basically buddie in that universe, where there's this thing called death-cast that know when people are gonna die and call them on that day (from midnight to 2am) to give them one last day to live the way they want to spend their last day, and to make all the necessary arrangements etc
so, basically, Eddie gets a call - but Eddie being Eddie, he doesn't believe in any of this (he does have a subscription bc his family kept pressuring him and Shannon did get a call before she died)
so he has around 24 hours to live, arranging who's gonna take care of chris, and confessing his love to Buck - and when he tells Buck he got a call, Buck panics ofc

It doesn't even hit him that they might be calling about his son, too, since he's registered under Eddie's phone number, until the moment he swipes the green button to answer the call. That's when a wave of panic floods him, for just a second. Then he remembers that it all isn't real. That, and they say his name.
"Hello, I'm calling from Death-Cast. My name is Jane. Is this Edmundo Diaz?" a pleasant, warm voice speaks on the other end of the line.
"Cutting it close there, it’s almost 2am.” he tries for a lighthearted tone, but doesn’t get a response. “Yeah, that's me." he sighs, dragging a hand over his face. Let's get this over with. "Call me Eddie." he adds.
"Hi, Eddie. I regret to inform you that sometime in the next twenty four hours you’ll be meeting an untimely death. While there isn’t anything we can do to suspend that, you still have a chance to live." Her tone is professional, sounding like she’s reciting from a script, which she probably is, but there is an undertone of pity and sympathy, too. She's clearly well-trained for the job - which is probably not even a fleeting thought when most people get the call, but Eddie's not most people. She starts listing all the events and festivals happening for Deckers – that’s what people who are dying are called, that’s who Eddie is today, apparently – to help them experience as much life as possible in whatever time they have left. That and all the places that are supposed to make it easier to make all the necessary arrangements, quickly and with little to no wait. Eddie’s not paying much attention. He knows all that, it’s advertised enough, and he’s talked to Deckers, met quite a few on calls, actually. They were supposed to die, but his team saved quite a few of their lives – not so easy to predict death, is it?

Too many. A Barisi soulmate au I was rewriting. Icemav flower shop/pilot au, the entirety of Hangster as Exes as Youngblood. The TG/FMAB au I started. There's more. I have like 130 fics in my docs and over half of those are WIPs, so.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told I'm good at writing physical touches, and movements. And I like to think I'm alright at descriptions
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I get way too wordy with those mentioned above. I ramble a lot. Dialogue scares me, especially in smut (I worry I'll be too corny/porno-sounding). I basically don't do outlines unless the idea I have is really long, and even then they tend to be pretty frail and bare-bones.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I used to pretty frequently when I was writing Barisi, mostly pet names and stuff in Spanish. I no longer feel confident in writing other languages that I don't know, which limits me to English and describing ASL.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Oh god. So it might have been Pokemon back when I was in elementary school. But I typically say Attack on Titan, the summer between 7th and 8th grade. I was friends with this one girl and would literally send, over Gmail, new chapters. I still have...most? of the writing in a doc and it is HORRENDOUS.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
It's not my best fic by any means, but I have a soft spot for I Hope We Make It (To The Other Side), which is a JATP fic that hit sooo many firsts for me. It was my first finished multi-chap fic, my first time plotting shit out. I think it was some of the longest writing I'd done at the time (my avg length of fic was like 2k and 3k for a long one). And I was SO PROUD of so many little things within it.
I also love Still Singin' Here Above The Ground, which is a RWRB fic that's pretty quiet but is just. Ugh. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

committing myself to attempting a chapter in the form of a true-crime doc for The Sycamore Tree lmfao should be fun but we’ll have to see how it goes. I like challenging myself and trying my hand at a variety of writing styles and this fic being my first rookie fic AND being as long and as… involved… as it is makes it a good sandbox for some experimentation. might scrap it if it pisses me off but the attempt will be made. I already know exactly what ground it’s gonna cover and everything so I’m looking forward to putting those chapters in proper writing (not just an outline) so I can really get to work on this one knowing fully how the relevant chapters before it panned out. it’s planned and all but I need to actually finish the chapters first bc I’m not… always great at following my own outlines. lol.
since I’ve been trying to flesh it out with subplots and side action and new characters and bottle chapters and things my outline has come out feeling structured very much like a season of television. so I thought it’d be cool to try and take one of the show’s unique episode formats and incorporate it in. turning Sycamore into something of like a… what-if for s5 on the whole rather than just a canon divergence that happens to start in s5? like I want it to be Large Scale. if my readers and I are committing to 40 chapters that range from 7-10k words each, I might as well use that space to its full potential.
I’m rambling. but what y’all are gonna learn about me the more and more active I get in the fanfic scene for this show is that there’s nothing I love more than using my socmed platforms to pontificate my little fic ideas instead of making private notes. do it on my twt all the time for bbc merlin bc that’s the place I promo those works. tumblr’s become a bit of a home base for my rookie content (which is just Sycamore rn but hopefully more in the future since I’m enjoying creating this one so much). that means these random little musings about potential fics or directions for those wips are mostly gonna land here. feel free to ignore them. or, hell, if I post some off-hand concept that you like go ahead and lift it for your own works. I think that’s why I like making notes this way tbh bc then if an idea is dead-on-arrival for me it could theoretically find life in the hands of another writer who came across it. like paying it forward or whatever but in fic prompts. inspiring myself and hopefully other writers in the process—since I know coming up w an idea is half the battle. might be a bit presumptuous but it’s like if I do it this way maybe I can make that part a bit easier on my future self or on someone else. idk.
anyway. love y’all a lot. like a lot a lot. the support is still mind-blowing to me. I don’t think I’ll ever quite wrap my head around it. very surreal. so hopefully you can bear w me and my aimless posts like this and my writing experiments that may or may not succeed. I’m so proud of this work so far but it’s such new territory for me and it really feels like it’s asking a lot of the audience to stick w it since it’s… so much. like I want the diversions from the main arc to feel natural and engaging. it’s difficult tho bc I’m not a professional or whatever. I’m not even someone w an english/writing/literature background or something. I’m just a pharmacology student writing some silly little fanfiction in my spare time.
what I mean to say is that I’m trying my damnedest to make it worth your time to read it all. even the parts that aren’t chenford or aren’t connected to the main plot. like they’re there bc I feel like it adds to the experience not bc I’m trying to pad the length. and ik that in my mind but sometimes I see the current word count or my projections for the final word count based on the average of the finished chapters and I question how it comes off. like I worry a bit that adding stuff like that could seem superfluous even tho it’s not my intention. I don’t want Sycamore to be long for the sake of being long. I want it to be long so it can feel like a whole universe. like a highly fictionalized thing still grounded somewhat in reality. not just a one-track story to get characters straight from point A to point B. you know?
idk what I’m saying anymore but. it all makes sense in my head. I just have so many thoughts about this work and I’m also just so excited to write it and publish it and let you see it but it’s very slow-going bc I want it to be as good as possible.
anyway. weird little draft note thing over. there was a point to this somewhere but I definitely lost it midway. lmfao. this is what happens when I forget to take my adhd meds and can’t focus enough to actually write but still want to feel like I’m making progress. whoops.

i love posting my art but i hate what posting does to my art process.
wanna make art ? make it in one sitting so you can post it asap. so what if you can’t give yourself time to go back and adjust anything or take the time to add details that would make it nicer.
trying to learn to take my time, but it’s scary. bc if i make soemthing i’m really proud of i might lose my audience by the time i post again. like on ig if i don’t post often enough then they just don’t show my stuff. so it’s like a competition between making art im happier with that gives me more of a chance to improve and getting out content fast enough for people to see my nice art…
maybe i just post more WIPs ? we’ll see how it goes lol

Do you take commissions for minecraft mods?
Truth be told I’m not sure I have quite the skill set for that yet. I’ve only published one finished mod which is this. And that was just a dimension added using an existing biome.
The dragon I’ve posted recently is still a very heavy WIP. I’ve definitely got a grasp on how to add entities on a basic level, but I’m struggling with how to use it as a mount and make it fly. A lot of what I’m doing is self taught, and there’s no base for flying mounts in Minecraft’s existing code, and I have yet to find an open source one for fabric I can reference. I’m ultimately going to have to dig through the class functions until I find what I need to throw together my own flight code and hope it works. The model is also the first I’ve ever made, I’m relatively new to to making my own models. Dragons are an artistic passion of mine personally (AKA the only thing I can draw bc I love them lol) so it would take a lot more time and references to model/animate anything else.
I suppose the short answer would just be my skills might not be what you’re looking for, but it’s hard to say without knowing what you want. I’ve only worked on a couple things, and the most complex is still a very buggy WIP. In theory if you’re desperate to find someone, simpler things would be possible if they didn’t stray very far from vanilla behaviors, but I feel like my creations just aren’t polished enough to be worth your money. I’m not sure who else to point you towards, I haven’t poked my head into how mod commissions are done in the mc community.
But at the same time, if you’re looking for something on the simpler side I’d also encourage you to try and learn to mod yourself! You’ll save your money and learn something new! I used a really great series of YouTube videos from this channel to get started on mine. All of his stuff is open source and posted to GitHub, so you’re free to use it as a base for whatever you work on. There’s videos for both forge and fabric, and tutorials on how to use blockbench if you need a model. The only thing I might have had when I started the ocean world dimension another beginner might not is general experience in Java coding, as I study computer science and programming. But as someone who self teaches a lot, you might just find you pick that up along way pursuing a project you’re passionate about.
