for some reason a while ago i had the impression that hawkeye speaks korean like once ever and only to demonstrate that he sucks at it, but he actually speaks korean just as much as any other american on the show and more than some, which is to say the occasional phrase here and there lol
like he's probably about on par with margaret and radar (averaging out radar's 'can speak korean fine' and 'can't speak korean at all' scenes lol)

i've seen actually a few different people/users leave comments or tags about wanting to check out scavenger's reign after seeing my glowing praise of it, but also being very nervous to do so, because they're excited for a lesbian who looks like them (azi), but despite my gushing, i keep mentioning how the show is full of body horror, brutal deaths and characters having a bad time;
this is a very valid concern to have, given how a character like azi might be treated in another show, i was going in with tempered caution as well
Tumblr media
without spoiling too much, you can lay those worries down. the show treats her very well.
if you'd like some more elaboration, i've put it under this readmore!
azi is put into stomach-churningly dire "an alien is about to eat you/do a big big body horror/assimilate you" situations the least of any of the characters, and not even because she's being given a lack of stuff to do/experience in the plot!
i think we only see her get "afflicted" by something the way sam does once, and its very mild compared to everyone else (basically she gets a really bad itchy rash after successfully prying some weird would-be paralytic puffballs that get stuck to her) and even this one instance is quickly resolved by other fauna, in a very nice sequence of scenes that is clearly a healing/relaxing experience for her.
while she is put into danger and is trying to survive like everyone else, she gets tossed about in action setpieces she makes it through with minimal injury, more than enduring The Horrors;
she gets to have better luck because more of her narrative screentime is, by design, already dedicated to emotionally bonding with her robot buddy, levi, as they suddenly and rapidly attain self-awareness, and levi encourages her to find the beauty and harmony in this nightmarish nature documentary they got marooned in.
this helps her lighten up just in time, too, because she is, very understandably, stressed almost to her breaking point by the point the show starts, having one of the better crash landing sites of any of the survivors, and i bet the other survivors all wish they had a robot tagging along to help, but being stranded and lonely and trying to not lose hope of rescue. she misses her girlfriend, and is feeling increasingly vulnerable (negative) and afraid, especially when situations occur where she gets reminded she does need help. azi starts the series being kind of mean to levi, and having to balance her confusion, worry, and then awe of levi's transformation, and let herself accept she does need that help.
azi is not the gruff grr nothing phases me nothing hurts me the writers dont have to try giving me depth i'm just the badass butch who exists to fill the death quota later so a lighter/more fem character can survive;
her vulnerability reveals itself without much fuss, and is eventually tended to both by herself and others. we get flashbacks that show she was naturally introverted, but clearly wanting to overcome that in order to socialize and get closer to someone (girls...)
she goes through it for other reasons, but i promise you, the show treats her very well, i feel. she and levi are probably-nah, definitely, my favorite characters in it, and the show would not have blown me away the way it did without them here
SR has 3 main story threads; Azi and Levi, Sam and Ursula, Kamen and The Hollow. of the three, Azi and Levi's is the heart, and is the most romantic, in multiple senses of the term. i might right a breakdown of what i love most about all three threads? but yeah
now, if you still need the "okay but does she or her gf die" y/n:
.
.
.
.
azi and her girlfriend both survive the events of the show, and reunite in one piece! they may or may not throuple up with the robot.
i sure hope they do.
you can't tease us with scenes like this and Not
Tumblr media
OH: also, when a new antagonist shows up later in the form of a lethally pragmatic blonde woman named Kris who tries to boss azi around, i did get nervous, but Azi soured to max on her and spoke exactly what i hoped was the intent at the exact moment i felt it was critical to avoid me going "hrrmmm don't like these Implications" (the Instant azi detects blondie is trying to haze her into being a new teammate to be bossed around, azi immediately gets rightfully pissed and rejects it, and schemes to get the tagalong kid to see this also and on azi's side in the long run, which plays out and kris gets rapidly shuttled out of the plot and then pretty damn well humbled in the only blatant Sequel Hook present. i Appreciated that. Would have loved to love you Kris I love evil women but then you pulled That Stunt and now you can go wither alone in the corner

Okay! My honest opinion on "Miraculous World: Paris"?
Tumblr media
It was AMAZING!!!!
Lot's of action, some funny moments, very emotional and lots of tension!
One thing I especially love is how the Special wastes absolutely no time with getting straight into the action!
Something I hate about many movies is how they just waste so much time setting up the plot that by the time it finally gets to the good stuff, half the movie is already over!
The writers really have my respect for not doing that here! After the opening, they waste no time and immediately get straight to the actual plot!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another thing i really love about the special is the way they handled Shadybug and Claw Noir!
I kept saying that Shady and Claw have the potential to become the best Miraculous villains ever, even if they get redeemed, and as far as I'm concerned, i was totally right about that because these two are officially my favorite Miraculous villains!!! 🖤
[WARNING!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!]
For one, I love villains like Shadybug who are driven by a desire to not be hurt anymore!
I felt so bad for her when she cried while reading Marinette's diary! 😢
Tumblr media
And I found it so touching how she first acted cold and rude towards Sabine but quickly backtracked on her attitude, when Sabine continued to speak kindly to her!
It showed that Shadybug wished she'd have a loving mother like that and she'd actually be grateful for it!
Tumblr media
I am truly touched by how vurnerable she looked throughout that entire scene!
💔💔💔
🖤And I absolutely love how sassy and unhinged Claw Noir is!🖤
The guy freaking cataclysmed himself ON PURPOSE FOR NO APPEARANT REASON!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At least I can't think of a reason why he did that! And even while cataclysmed, he still managed to put up one heck of a fight throughout the entire special!!
And It's very interesting how his motivation is a lot like Monarch's, but at the same time not!
Claw Noir does want his mother back, but he seems more hurt by the fact that his father doesn't seem as upset as he is!
Although it's not that hard to read the signs that Shadyverse!Gabriel infact is impacted by his wife's death!
If I had to guess, it looks very much like Claw THOUGHT his father easily moved on and continued to focus on his work as a fashion designer and forgot about Emily, while what he was really doing was using the butterfly miraculous to create superheroes and trying to stop the Supreme, most likely to create a safe world for their son!
I also love how both Shady and Claw wear different masks to hide their sadness : Shadybug acts cold and unfeeling while Claw Noir is more outgoing and unhinged! Claw is basically that one character who is a little b*tch but is just too charismatic to hate!
[SPOILERS OVER]
There might've been a few things I had hoped to see in the special that weren't there, but that's okay because a lack of one or two good possible elements is still better than the presence of multiple bad elements — which mind you was NOT present in this special at all!
The show often has some moments that really made me cringe, but I couldn't find a SINGLE bad moment in this special!
[SPOILERS]
So the fact that we didn't get much personal father-son drama between Batterfly and Claw Noir (Which was justified since, contrary to what i assumed, they don't know each others secret identities) or the fact that neither CelesteCat's white suit and hair nore Claw Noir's giant Cataclysm triggered Ladybug's Chat Blanc PTSD (because we don't talk about this enough in Season 5) don't bother me much!
My worries about Ubiquity, despite being featured heavily in promotional material, barely appearing in the actual special (because she only had one appearence in all the trailers) were also put to rest! Even though Alya isn't Ubiqity for long at first, she still gets turned back into her a few times! Giving her enough screentime that I see no reason to get mad over her being promoted so much even though she doesn't actually stick around throughout the entire special!
[SPOILERS END]
Whoever says this show lost it's touch should definetly watch this!
Which is another little meta detail I really love in this special :
'Hope' is a central theme in the special, and it was so good that it also gave me hope that the show can return to it's former glory!
Despite a lot of controversy surrounding the show for quite a while now, this special proves that, just like Shadybug, Claw Noir and Batterfly's world, the show itself can also still be saved!

Ok I love Lucifer's fight with Adam like KICK HIS ASS WHOOOO
But I was highkey looking forward to Charlie finally going sicko mode, I was HOPING they wouldn't do what they did, but it was exactly what I was expecting.
The fight scene was... ok. But it was so anime and so predictable that it was boring after a few minutes (to me). I hate that they couldn't leave a joke out for a couple of minutes. Like this was a final battle, the showdown to show that Hell wasn't going to take shit anymore from the angels. I wanted more class to it, more emotion, I wanted Charlie to finally show what she can do and at least get a couple of good hits in before Adam took the upper hand again. I wanted tension of who was going to die, I wanted the angels to eventually get the upperhand to create tension that this act against the angels probably wasn't going to work, Sir Pentious dies in a more dramatic way that feels more emotional than comical. Then Charlie goes sick mode, gets some good hits in, but Adam is the first man and has an angelic suit on or some shit eventually gets the upperhand again THAN Lucifer could've came in and saved the day.
The only hightlights to the fight for me is Alastor vs Adam and Vaggie vs Lute. I was not expecting Alastor to lose like he did, I was expecting him to win ngl but they did a fantastic job showing us that he isn't all that powerful like he likes to pretend which gave me SO MUCH EMOTION. It was so sick with the radio effect going away when his staff broke, like AHHHHH.
Vaggie's battle was cool too, wish it was longer and wish she got her wings again during it. There is a lot about Vaggie that should be better and the writers are screwing her over. She could be my fave character if they just took the time with her to give her a proper arc.
This was very ranty but I don't care.
One thing I will add to this is that Charlie may be a sheltered princess but she IS the princess of Hell. The Fucking Daughter of Lucifer and the FIRST woman. She is POWERFUL AS FUCK and the only thing she had to show for it is some parlor tricks and a trident??? We saw Lucifer's full demon mode but barely got to see Charlie's. It pisses me off so much that they did that to her. Sure you can say that it's because she barely has any fighting experience, is a passive person, never needed to fight because why the fuck would you fight Lucifer's daughter??? But still!!! If you wanted it to come off like "she may have barely any experience but she is trying" then show that throughout the show!!! Show that she really doesn't know how to fight but she is willing to try for her friends!! They better fucking show us her potential in the next season or I will lose it!
If this is suppose to be a show centered around the female characters then Vizie really fucked up with that final fight scene. It was disappointing to me how Charlie, Vaggie and even Lute and Carmilla are being treated throughout the show. Granted Charlie is getting some character development but why not show that during the final fight?! Show how this naive princess of hell who hates conflict is willing to put everything on the line for her family and her people, even her life!!

Okay as my all-time favourite Ted lasso artist and blog; what are your honest thoughts about the finale episode??
i've still only seen the episode once but just for you, sweet nonnie, i will rewatch it for more thoughts, but for now:
LOVED probably 80-90% of the episode and it was bittersweet and emotional af
every single one of the callbacks made me so happy especially the offside and nate's play
the so long, farewell scene?? are you kidding me???
trent. TRENT. my sweet gal. my little guy. i'm glad we got a final few ted/trent scenes in there and so grateful for the crumbs and mr lance's wardrobe.
i'd hoped for the whole season they weren't gonna do the love triangle thing with roy & jamie again, but unfortunately they did and even left it till the finale which was disappointing, but i did like how they resolved it, even if the throuple didn't happen (:/ or at least didn't happen onscreen)
i needed more nate this episode - i was hoping he wouldn't return just as a kitman and i wanted to see how that conversation went, but as always nick delivers on the stuff he DID get and i'm eternally grateful for his presence in the show
seeing the full diamond dogs just brings me so much fucking joy god i love six (6) men
barbara is such a little freak i love her and everything about her
one final triumph of tony head's rupert was incredibly satisfying to see i love old men. but WHERE IS BEX. i needed to see the rebecca/bex/ms kakes revenge storyline
re. the tedbecca of it all, i really thought they were gonna do it till the airport scene and am still surprised they didn't, which meant that the first fakeout scene was absolutely uncalled for and felt really in bad faith after the fact, even as a person who does not actively ship them
now for the stuff i REALLY. really. did not like, as evidenced by a number of dozens of tweets and two long stern worded replies in brendan's ama: absolutely unbelievable that beardjane were endgame when basically no other established ships/relationships ended up being endgame. very disappointed about the direction the show took them in and the writers' not realizing how harmful it can be to celebrate a toxic and abusive relationship. most important i think beard deserves better than jane but maybe that's just the beard fan in me talking.
i wish ted & beard would've had a deeper conversation re. jane & leaving london before they literally got on the flight, and gave us more resolution with these two men whom i dearly love and want to see more of - it does NOT help when brendan says they "don't see each other for years" because cmon. this is a feel good tv show. you don't have to bring your "real life friendship" stuff into here. make us feel good about ted leaving please.
and finally, ted leaving, which i definitely expected. i just didn't expect that the people trying to make him stay to not have any effect on him at all. i agree with others that ted seemed quite distanced and detached for the whole episode, but they'll most likely never end up addressing this ever again. i wish he'd explored more options than just "leave permanently and never come back" - and ended up being the same place he started before he came to london, but i appreciate the effort he is making for henry.
as for the future of the show, i hope there'll be a spin off with maybe some of the existing characters but definitely a whole new showrunning/writing/creating team, i would love to see other's interpretations for the characters & universe i've grown to love over the past year and a half.
so yeah, that's about all i can think of re. the finale. i was holding out for the last 15 mins of flashforward montage to be a dream sequence but brendan debunked that theory pretty definitively yesterday, so there's that. i appreciate the show for what it was to me and forgive it for what it wasn't, and i will still be enjoying the bits i enjoyed from it wholeheartedly - it was not a perfect show, but it was a great show to have enjoyed over the past year and a half and to have shared with the rest of y'all. i cannot wait to see what the universe, and everyone who was involved with the show will go on to do next and you'll be damned if i wasn't gonna follow jimmy lance's career until he is fully out of work. richmond till we die <3

The Good Bad Mother Review
“Strange as it may seem, I still hope for the best, even though the best, like an interesting piece of mail, so rarely arrives, and even when it does it can be easily lost.” -Lemony Snicket.
Tumblr media
After her husband dies Young Soon travels to a new place and gives birth to her son and from that moment she decided to make him a prosecutor.
However, after everything, Kang Ho gets into an accident and is now paralysed with a 7-year-old mentality.
Spoilers ahead
I have to say this drama gripped me from the very first episode to the very last.
The plot of the drama is intriguing and with every episode, you get more curious about the lives of the main leads and the village people.
It also did lean on harder topics and was quite well-balanced with some humour.
Though, the harder topics were not always approached right, for example, the scene where she started drowning Kang Ho so he would stand up, which is clearly abuse.
But most of the comments I saw were about how she’s doing a good job, how she knows him the best so pushing him down there is a good method.
Not only that later on Kang Ho actually starts walking and the writer and director showing this horrible method as effective is even worse.
And to be honest, I hated the idea that Kang Ho still liked his mother even after he had his memory back, and after all that time everything was for her.
With how much abuse he got through I wanted him to leave, or at least distance himself from her as we saw in a very few episodes.
But there were no consequences for her, yes she got some terrible luck with a lot of things but getting cancer or those tragedies just became a way to show her in a better spotlight without actually doing any work in the abuse department.
And I fell for that too, at first. I would start feeling like: ‘Oh yes, she’s changing a bit now’ and then she throws a terrible line or does something bad and we’re back in the same circle.
I feel like none of the characters really changed much, probably the only one would be the trot producer. I did not see any growth in any of the characters would it be the village people or would it be Kang Ho or the mother, as we saw them in the first episode they’re the same in the last.
I’m sorry but I won’t count the dead person’s letter about how she will be better next time because she never showed anything like that in this life.
I liked other relationships, how the village people are so close and Mi Joo’s children are adorable.
Sam Shik was also a good second lead who just knew when to let things go and he was just a funny character, just like two Woo Byeok’s handyman. They were the characters that made the show so much more loveable.
Overall, this drama is something unique and there are so many interesting discussions you can have while watching it.
The acting is also phenomenal and I have no complaints about it but I just wish the characters learned something from the experiences that they had. And for me, that was missing a lot of the time.

rewatched The Underground Job last night as a wind-down and now Eliot and Cory have been bouncing around in my head all day. can’t stop smiling at it. literally cannot get over Eliot big-brothering this kid I swear to gods.
like!!! Paul Revere’s lunchbox! Cory throwing history facts at Eliot and Eliot’s fond “smartass”! bonding over getting the grunt work! that obvious look in Eliot’s eyes when Cory tells him about his father, aargh (and can we just... oh, Cory. eighteen, either just out of high school or dropped when he was sixteen, and in charge of providing for his entire family, and we know his father must have been a wonderful man--oh, Cory), the way you can see how he immediately goes “okay I’m going to take care of this kid,” how he directs Cory toward the job that’ll get him furthest along toward his future... oh, goodness. and, and, and! the way Eliot drops everything to go find him even when he’s in the middle of looking for the bomb! chivvying him out of the mine!
and oh. ohhh. how betrayed Cory looks when Eliot says he’s leaving. the sheer pain. I’m just. guys, these two knew each for, at a wild maximum, four days. this job was pretty short and snappy. so little time, and yet somehow Eliot’s become this role model, this older brother figure, this friend, and Cory legitimately can’t stand the idea of losing him. it hurts to watch that scene.
but like--you know that this means that, in those few days working together, those hours spent together working in the mine, they must’ve talked. it must have taken hours dusting the walls, after all, with little else to do but talk. there’s this rapport we can feel between them (and points to the writers and actors and everybody on the goddamn crew for this ep for pulling that off within such a tiny frame of time) that they obviously built. what did they talk about, do you think? what kinds of stories did they share? how much do you think Eliot knows about Cory, walking away? how much does Cory know about him?
and then Cory offers that hug. that lovely, lovely hug (a mirror to Hardison’s earlier, really, and what does that say?), so obviously emotional, and Eliot... that brief hesitation before he returns it. that “oh” moment. he’s going to miss this kid, he knows that, but oh, he didn’t realize just how bad the kid was going to miss him.
it makes him asking the other miners to look after Cory all the more bittersweet, really. he wants the best for this kid, this eighteen-year-old given full responsibility for his family, this teen who is probably not so far from so many of Eliot’s old childhood friends. so he asks, and he sets it up, and he does his absolute best, because he has to. what a kindness, what a love there is there.
and yet. and yet.
you can see that regret in his eyes. that wish that he could stay there, just for the kid, just for the miners, just to keep them all safe. he can try his best to leave behind a good legacy... but he can’t be there to be sure.
what kind of pain is that to bear, I wonder? knowing that you’ve done your best, and still heart-broken, in a small way, to know you’re leaving behind a younger brother whom you could have watched grow into a wonderful, strong young man?
oh, Eliot. at least it’s better than the other regrets you bear.

Yay for a happy ending but wow Mariana really didn’t deserve Ana what was that? Why do that? Ana pining all the time while Mariana barely had any scene telling us that yes, she was in love with Ana at last half as much as Ana was. After all of that Mariana didn’t even had to make any effort to get Ana?
I spent way too long wanting Ana to get over Marina and realize that she is truly bi (not that bs that she is not gay she just loves Mariana 🙄) and finding someone else who can love her the way she deserves. Really Ana and other women not Mariana was some of my favorite parts lol I really wished Ana had a one night stand, she would still be miserable because she was so in love but at least she could have some great sex, and not just pine while Marina had Ferran
I guess the writers in the end are just not that good, s2 was also pretty underwhelming and s3 was I guess better but not as good as s1. And yes I blame the writers I don’t think that Netflix made any changes there. Just one scene with Mariana and Ana talking about their feelings all that went through, Mariana really talking about how heartbroken she was when Ana pushed her away in s1, about that night together scared her so much she couldn’t think, anything about how much she loves Ana would help so much instead it ended making me feel that Ana was so much more in love that made me kinda sad for her.
Ohh btw sorry for the long rant, the show left me all over the place 😆
Oh my God, I hear you Anon, I'm all over the place too. I should be adulting for Christmas, but instead, I want to do meta deep dives on Tumblr. And I am.
Season two did get boring as well because of the dudes, much like this season, but I do feel it all comes down to trying to keep some imagined general audience happy while carving out space to even be able to tell a gay story, not a lack of capacity. (I like giving creators the benefit of the doubt, especially since we did actually get a textual slow-burn love story between two women. Writers may choose to do it themselves to avoid the network mingling in the first place. I don't know.)
Yes, Ana as truly bi or gay would have been less of a cop-out, I'd like to just think she needs more time to come to terms with her sexuality and this is just an in-between state. After all, it's in character for Ana to be methodical about her sexuality and try to control it. "I'm gonna go out, pick a woman, see if I'm into it and then I will know for sure where I fit in." She might as well have started the episode with a PowerPoint presentation in which she explained this plan to Elena. Ana wants control, she wants shortcuts, which doesn't work in cases like this. We had one of her phony bridge club friends say that "She knew she was a lesbian since high school" when Ana introduced Mariana as the other mother of her daughters. Ludwika just shows us there's so much going on with Ana behind her eyes, I feel like she has a very rich backstory for Ana that she is tapping into. Would love to hear her talk about that. And yes, the chemistry with that woman was actually... good? Even with Elena. She's got Momistry with Mariana, but with these other women... it was easy to imagine more interesting exchanges.
I think the setup for Mariana actually loving Ana instead of Ferran is there, but they did a terrible job with the pacing and gave us so much Ferran that it became difficult to believe. There's the conversation with Elena where the acting makes it very clear she doesn't actually love Ferran, but is playing it safe with him... but even so, it was her turn to talk about her feelings to Ana. And it could have been a few sentences, a short scene, it really didn't need much.
I feel if this last episode would have had another passionate kiss, a few words from Mariana and some tears I would be ridiculously happy right now instead of rationalizing that I should be happy and grateful for getting that next step. It's still progress, hopefully it opens doors for the next slowburn. Eventually someone's gonna get it right.
I better finish my lesbian Hallmark script...

//SPOILERS:
My list so far is this:
Shinku - He's already shaping up to be a very good protagonist. I like his Ultimate Talent (as a writer myself) and his interactions and reactions are really engaging. Much like Makoto or Shuichi, he's rather self-concentrated and has a timid side to him, but unlike them, he's privy to the utter bullshit some of his classmates do in the moment, and he doesn't just let it slide. Though he acknowledges he speaks out of turn, he steps up and calls them out on it. And as strange as it sounds, I can already see the game leading to a moment where he is just gonna snap and fly off the handle, and I am PRAYING for it.
Dracul - I understand why Dracul died so soon, but I also wish he didn't. He was genuinely super cool and fun and I really hope Antebellum gets a school mode-esque minigame where we can get to know him a lot better. Especially since he and Shinku may or may not have a romantic connection, or HAD a romantic connection before anything else. His death left me incredibly bitter, especially when you discover Maiko's reasoning for it, as well as what she actually did to him, but I accept in the end that was the point.
Ismene - Might need to go a little further in with Ismene before I consider her top-tier, but so far she's pretty good. I'm eagerly awaiting to see how the story progresses with her and the conflict surrounding her.
Mononeko - I'm gonna get the mascot out of the way just before anything else, but Mononeko is kind of bland because he isn't any different from Monokuma. I suppose there's a limit to how much you can change the mascot character, but it's been done before with the likes of Kokorosaru (Kill/Cure) and Kou (Heartless Deceit) and I kind of wish there was a LITTLE more difference.
Maiko - I think I've made my opinion on her pretty clear at this point. As a person, I think she's absolutely detestable, and at the risk of sounding hypocritical with me being the creator of Kuripa, her whole vigilante thing took her down a very dark path and she evidently lost her mind a long time ago, and even her tragic backstory surrounding her whore of a mother doesn't excuse what she's done. That said, I have to bump her up a few tiers because the writing of her is very very good. They paint her in a sympathetic light, but not in a bright enough one that you can forgive her for what she did. After all, her primary motive for cutting open Draculs intestines and sticking him onto a giant cake was 1) Because he admitted to SHOPLIFTING as a kid, and 2) because her lead role as the character Melody Pretty; a character she became so obsessed with and who she found so much salvation with, that she started to believe she was the character in real life; was at risk of being replaced by someone else if she didn't kill someone.
Alora - She is INCREDIBLY boring. There is effectively NOTHING to her, at least not at the moment. I'm sure my opinion of her will change if she ends up getting better character moments later down the line, but I'm not really about characters who literally have one expression
Taka - The more I see of Taka, the more he grows on me. I do find it a little unfair that everyone was giving him shit at the end of trial 1. Yes, ok, tampering with crime scenes for a reason like wanting to be exciting is the ramblings of a crazy person, but instead of being in a situation like Kokichi or Nagito where they're doing it for the sake of complicating the case and making things difficult for everyone else, Taka doesn't seem to completely realize the complications of his actions until they're brought to light. Also, I was able to see his lego brick rant at the beginning of Chapter 2 and that was very funny. I think he's pretty solid so far.
Asuga - This is another character who I think I need to spend more time with before I actually formulate a real opinion on her. She's cute and funny and I do like her so far, but I haven't been given many reasons to LOVE her yet.
Eiichi - Eiichi is cool! I don't quite know what I was expecting from someone with the title of Ultimate Gacha Player, but I like how he's handled. People who play that kind of game typically get a bad rep, to which I like how he's not represented as some gross gamer trash, a la Hifumi. No, he's a genuinely nice guy who just wants to lend a hand, and I appreciate him for that.
Takiko - As much as I hate the Ultimate Sister talents in these games of fangames (like the Sada twins from Hope Restoration) Takiko is pretty nice. It is a very interesting concept having a child in a Killing Game where everyone else is adults, but also having that child NOT be a prodigy and just being a normal clueless kid who doesn't understand the concept of death. I think it's very creative and I'm here for it.
Yui - I have absolutely no idea why, but I DON'T FUCKING LIKE HER. Something about her really rubs me the wrong way, like she doesn't take any horrific thing that happens in the game seriously. And not even in the same way Ibuki does! Ibuki at least REACTED to the deaths and participated in the class trial as best she could! But for some reason, Yui seems weirdly at ease with everything bad that happens and makes me incredibly sus of her. I remember how post Dracul's death, she was complaining about her party was ruined, and Shinku tells her "Somebody is dead and you're upset about how your party, which was an obvious set up for someone to be killed, was ruined!? That's fucked up!" And I just thought "...YEAH! Yeah that IS fucked up!" Because I'm just so used to Kodaka's writing I don't give lines like that a second thought, but I'm not sure what it is, I'm getting MAJOR Kanade vibes from Yui.
Lyra - Lyra is my favourite character in the game as of this point. While I do think she might have ties to the deeper conflict of the game, at least she's an interesting and funny character that really gets me engaged with this game. Her dialogue is pretty golden at times and I just like her personality overall. She's cool, cute, funny, entertaining, and so many other great things all at once.
Emilia - Emilia hasn't given me many reasons to like her so far, but I don't DISLIKE her either. I will give her credit for at least being self-aware that she's kind of a bad person, and I can see she's trying to better herself. But until she's actually able to do that, she remains on the latter end of my ranking.
Mint - I think he's pretty nice. I do get the feeling he might snap at one point because everybody bullies him, but he's cute and I like him. I want the best for him and he's a precious bean. (Also lowkey loved seeing him in a dress)
Kotaro - Same case really. I do find it sad how the fact that he bribed his way into good education is never really dropped, despite the fact that Ismene and Mint's crimes revealed at the same time are definitely a lot worse. And I know there's got to be more of the story (I haven't done his FTE's by the way) because he IS genuinely a smart kid who knows a lot, so I know he deserves his Ultimate Talent. My guess is it may have something to do with family or health circumstances that stopped him from going to school; which I can relate to because that's a position I was in for a time during my early uni days. While I wouldn't go as far as to call him a fav, I still like him a lot.
Kiyoshi - I don't like him, but I don't think I'm supposed to. On top of him being an arrogant jerk, I had my suspicions about him being this creepy weirdo behind the scenes, and it turns out I was right about those. Not only with his crime reveal, but also the fact that he stalked Alora and Ismene, as well as the fact that he isn't even remotely apologetic about kidnapping girls, then blackmailing them into silence. But again, I don't like Kiyoshi, but with the way his character is set up, I think that's the point. You're not SUPPOSED to like this dude.
Rei - Last of all, I like Rei for the same reasons I like Lyra. I also like the fact that he’s this little stirrer of chaos, seeing Shinku step up and be like “Hm, yes, how far can I take this?” And I feel like as a character and with his talent, he has a lot of potential later down the line.
//My final list is this:

I honestly really wish the plate scene was just a tad longer, or what I mean is, I wish the scene lingered for a bit more, for the audience to REALLY take in what was going on. Don’t get me wrong, the scene itself was perfectly slow and quiet to set the mood of realization and heartbreak, but at the same time I thought it moved by just a teeny too fast, especially since I’m one of those people who thought the movie’s pacing started to go really fast once Mirabel met Bruno.
Tumblr media
Now I will be honest, one of the problems I actually had here was how Mirabel reacts to all of this. Basically, I didn’t really like how after she sees the carved plate on the table, and learns how Bruno’s been eating dinner with them for the past 10 years as well as hear him express how much he loves his family, she immediately just…..asks him about the vision and nothing else. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Mirabel doesn’t care or was selfish, I just expected a bigger reaction, or a few lines at least before she brings the vision back up. This scene alone is a heart wrenching realization for the audience, but since Mirabel as a character doesn’t really say or do anything that relates to this, it kinda irks me in a way. Now again, don’t get me wrong, because we clearly see by her amazing facial expressions when she looks at the plate how torn up she is about this, learning that her uncle the entire time DID care about his family and she immediately has sympathy for him, but still, I was expecting her to attempt to comfort him, or say SOMETHING before the subject of the vision was brought back up again to not ruin the emotional moment. Now her being concerned about the vision obviously isn’t a bad thing within itself, it’s a big deal and she needs to know the answer to why she’s in it, she’s eager and wants to help, ESPECIALLY since time is of the essence because of the magic dying, but the fact that she learns her uncle has been here the entire time for 10 years, that he’s alive and deeply cares for his family, only to immediately ask about what she came here for without really fully reacting or accurately processing this information was kind of a let down for me. However, I will say that I don’t think Mirabel herself or the writing is at fault, I just think it’s clear that this was the point of the film where they REALLY had to move things along. I just bring this up because had Mirabel said a line or two relating to what she saw regarding the plate and all before she gets back to asking about the vision, this scene would have flowed better in my opinion, and would have been even more emotional than it already was. Heck, the other big reveal with Bruno didn’t really flow well in my eyes either, where they reveal he left to protect her. Mirabel realizes it and asks, but then Bruno eventually makes a joke and tries to rush her out, and there just…….isn’t enough time to really process this emotional realization, for the character AND the audience. Again though, I don’t blame the writers or anything, it just sucks that in some scenes, you can tell they had to move things along.
Anyway, this scene overall is still REALLY good of course, gets me in the feels every time. I love Mirabel and Bruno as a duo, how they both want the same thing, and how they both are the sort of outcasts who deeply care for their family. The emotional moments with them will always get me, I do wish there were more scenes with them interacting because they’re just amazing characters to bounce off of one another! With that said, feel free to disagree with me on anything I’ve said, this was just a personal opinion that I wanted to get out. Thank you for reading!

Hold on, I actually have something to say about Lucky Spencer, his recasts, and the punishment of actors through character assassination.
Under a read more because I have A LOT to say:
For some reason, every January for the last few years, I watch clips of General Hospital - sometimes storylines I've seen before, and sometimes stories I want to see for the first time. This January I decided on Lucky (JJ) and Elizabeth, and I've watched every scene of theirs I could find from '97 to '99 and '09 to '11. I'd seen a few of their older scenes, a bit more of their recent scenes, but it was my first time watching everything from the beginning. Two months later and I'm still thinking about them, how sweet they were together as teens, and how the writers ruined them over and over again.
My first memory of watching GH was with my older sister, and it just so happened to be the episode in '99 with Lucky's funeral and the reveal that he was alive. As a lover of angst, I was enthralled. I wanted to know what happened next. Now in hindsight, that was truly the end for them. Sometimes I feel like Lucky died in that fire and he never came back. Lucky said it himself in a scene with Luke in '10 - "Elizabeth and I never recovered from that fire," and he was right. And it is so disappointing to me. A small part of me almost wishes I didn't know how good they were then, so that I never learned how far they'd fallen.
The characters as teenagers were beautiful together. They were IN LOVE, and they sold it, and had better chemistry than almost any characters I've ever seen. I know this is a soap opera and almost no one is allowed to stay married to one person, much less with their high school sweetheart, but I just wish they hadn't done so much deliberate, irreparable damage to this couple. And for what?
From the wiki I read recently, Jonathan Jackson wanted to leave as early as '96 or '97 and they convinced him to stay, which I'm grateful he did so we could get the Liz/Lucky story. I hate that he left, and really dislike recasts in general, but I would never begrudge an actor for wanting to move on from a soap opera, even if I miss them. And to expect an 11-year-old actor to commit to a lifetime as one character is ridiculous. He wanted to leave again in '11, and while that was incredibly disappointing, I understand why he did.
He's said in interviews that he wanted to work with Tony and Becky, and have Liz and Lucky reunite, and have lighter stories. I know actors rarely get a say in their storylines, that they've gotta shut up and do the work they're given, and I get that. But considering those requests were the whole reason he even agreed to come back in the first place, why did they apparently agree when they had no intention of following through? So he left, which was within his right to do. Creators/producers/writers don't have to cater to actors' wants, but then they shouldn't act surprised when the actor leaves when they've lied to get them in the door. So yeah, I don't blame him for leaving, and I'm happy for him that he got Nashville soon after.
Unfortunately, now Lucky has since been punished for this. They turned him into a deadbeat dad who doesn't see his kids. They absolutely did not have to do that. They could so easily say he talks to them at least once a week on the phone, that he sees them every few months, and sends them gifts on their birthdays. It might not be perfect but at least it's not the complete abandonment of his children. Jax was allowed an offscreen relationship with Josslyn, so why can't Lucky? It's so out of character for him to do this and the writers' motives are so transparent to me.
And frankly, I feel like they've been ruining Lucky since the first time JJ left. After running out of JJ scenes to watch, I finally grit my teeth and watched some scenes with the recasts. I watched some of JY's Lucky return storyline. The actor was fine I guess, but I didn't buy him as Lucky, and the chemistry with Liz just wasn't there anymore. I hate the brainwashing stuff and how he no longer loved Elizabeth. If I'd been watching this live then, I probably would've quit because that is NOT the story I would've wanted to see with these characters.
GV's Lucky is even worse. I'm sure the actor is good in other things but that character was definitely not Lucky. I mostly blame the writing, but every time I see him, I say aloud to myself, "I do not know this man." Lucky would not be a cop. From some scenes I've seen, he was controlling and downright mean to Elizabeth. He was so unlikable and annoying. While the drug addiction storyline is good for drama and a challenge for actors, I just don't buy that as a story for Lucky, and definitely not the cheating. Again, it's just so very out of character that I simply don't think of that man as Lucky - that rage-filled, Dudley Do Right cuckhold? I realize this sounds really harsh, and yes there were some nice moments too (I begrudgingly admit their 2005 wedding was very sweet) but for me the bad far outweighed the good. I don't know what the character (and actors) of Lucky did to deserve such character assassination
It's very telling to me that the moment JJ returned, Lucky was allowed to be smart again. Competent at his job. To actually be respected by the other characters. What a concept, huh? There's no way JJ would've returned to that mess of a character otherwise. I agree that it's fucked up that GV was fired and that JJ was told that GV moved on of his own volition, but I'm glad JJ returned for the time he did, even though they had no idea what to do with him.
Siobhan? She was fine at first but then became shrill. And she was just the rebound girl he never should've married. The Balkan storyline was definitely not one of their best. Lucky's exit - which both JJ and Tony complained about - by having Lucky leave his kids just before Christmas to go talk to some rocks? Wtf were they thinking? An actor leaves and they no longer have any obligation to make a satisfying conclusion for fans, I guess. The Liz/Nik affair was so gross to me. I don't know a lot about Becky's firing, but they clearly wanted to punish her and her character too before getting rid of her. While I hate what Liz did, I don't hate the character, because they clearly had some kind of vendetta against Becky to want to trash her character so thoroughly. And I understand that's even the nature of soap operas - that everyone gets the chance to fuck up and do unforgivable things - and I guess that's just an aspect of soaps that I absolutely hate. That some characters aren't allowed to stay good and true to themselves for the sake of drama and who's the daddy storylines.
I know there are GH fans now, and probably many back then, who are sick of LL2 and want Liz to move on. And that's fair. But I'm also sure that there were so many people who wanted them back together, especially after JJ returned. I was one of them. What an absolute waste of history and chemistry. Jonathan and Becky both wanted it. A lot of the fans wanted it. They didn't even have to keep them together forever - soap couples never last - but to NEVER allow these characters any happiness together when we finally had JJ back is one of the biggest fumbles I've ever seen. They ruined the characters a long time ago, and they ruined this couple yet again. And I'll never forgive that.
I want JJ to come back as Lucky, I always will, even if it's just for a little while. He probably won't, and why would he after last time? I don't want a recast but if they decided to then maybe I'd give him a chance, only because I want them to stop trashing the character. But honestly whoever they cast probably still won't be Lucky to me - JJ IS Lucky, and some characters just can't be recast. I'm trying to make my peace with that, and with the fact that the last time we saw the REAL Lucky and Liz happy together was back in 1999. The showrunner and writers at the time had the rare opportunity to fix that in 2010 and chose not to do it. Why? I could never guess.

The Rookie 5x06 Thoughts
Another Halloween episode! Is The Rookie finally establishing an actual timeline? It took a few seasons but we're here now.
Spoilers for episode 5x06 for The Rookie below. If you don't care about spoilers or have watched the episode, please enjoy!
Tumblr media
Starting off with Wopez and Elijah Stone. I'm so excited for the upcoming arc with Elijah Stone. I can easily see this arc potentially putting a strain on Angela and Wesley's relationship for a bit only for them to come out stronger like they did the first time around. When this episode's description said that Wesley knew Elijah's lawyer I didn't think it would because they were engaged previously! And then to find out he cheated on her and not the other way around was surprising.
I do wish that the writers had alluded to Wesley's previous relationship prior to this episode. The reveal felt a little bit out of place left field since there wasn't any previous discussion of Wesley being in a serious relationship before Angela. At least with Angela we do have a scene where she says she hasn't been in as serious of a relationship before Wesley.
When Wesley was explaining his former relationship with Monica (Elijah's lawyer) to Angela, I appreciated that he confirmed to Angela that he wouldn't cheat because he is truly in love with and not because he's scared of her. Wopez for the win!
The last scene between Wesley and Elijah has me excited for the rest of the arc. Also I think that Monica is already stuck under his thumb because of something he has on her or she's actively working with Elijah of her own will.
P.S. Bridget Regan's performance of Monica was great to watch I know her from White Collar. I was trying to place her for like half the episode and when I finally placed her I jumped out my seat.
Tumblr media
(I couldn't find a gif of Lisseth on the Rookie so I'm borrowing one of her from Legends of Tomorrow. She's in the last season if you want to see her in something else. Don't worry about trying to understand anything the show is basically a sci- fi crack fic so just enjoy the crazy ride.)
Celina continues become a better and better character with every episode. She's just so much fun to watch and get to know. Her falling asleep while standing up had me cracking up. The fact that she continues to process information that she sees and knows through her dreams is great. I like that Nolan doesn't brush her off even though he has his own reservations about it.
Celina and Nolan teaming up with the DEA agent to solve the case was cool to watch. The case itself was pretty interesting but I moreso enjoyed learning about the DEA agent and his connection to the case. (It was lovely to see J. August Richards again. One of the last times I saw him was on Agents of SHIELD)
Celina not being able to sleep and ending up at Nolan's house was hilarious. I was cracking up when Celina immediately passed out on the couch after listening to Nolan and Bailey argue. Celina wearing the Turning Red merch at the end was adorable.
Tumblr media
Nyla and Angela's friendship is always great to watch. All of the Wesley, Nyla, Baby Harper and Lilah scenes were great. James coming to the station with the baby was so cute. Also the way they handled Lilah being uninvited to trick or treating as a family and Nyla reassuring Lilah that she can come to them with anything was so wholesome. Honestly, I just love their whole family dynamic.
Tumblr media
And finally, Lucy and Tim. Tiny steps forward are still steps forward. Lucy pranking Tim by sending him on a goose chase around the city for his radio was peak comedy. As funny as it was to watch it also showed us just how well Lucy knows Tim and its somehow better than we originally knew.
Tim with that old giant radio and Lucy having to get a picture with it just shows that their phones camera rolls are definitely of each (and Kojo). Also the fact that Lucy called in a check in just to get Tim to raise the radio so she could get the picture was the perfect combination of smart and petty.
Pranks and Bets really are just their love language at this point.
Finally, we have officially reached Chenford pining era!!! Lucy and Tim looking back at each other in the parking lot but just missing the other looking at them. I call Lucy and Chris breaking up soon. (It would be absolutely cracked if they end up breaking up when Lucy and Tim start riding together again.)
That's it for now hope you enjoyed. Until next time have a great day or night. ✌🏾

So... Rich's appearance in GOTG 2019 sure was a disappointment. They sell him at the end of an issue as Gamora's love so you expect big things with him and then he just. Leads the people that are chasing her directly to her and dips after the battle is over. I think he doesn't even say a word to her? Or even Peter. His best buddy "dies" and we don't even see a reaction. Whoa. It's also so incredibly weird to bring him up in that way if you're gonna push Gamora x Peter IMMEDIATELY after writers really were out there setting up the ot3 without noticing huh. But theeeeen there's those few pages in the Annual by Al Ewing that are just CHEF'S KISS
That said! I enjoyed the second arc more than the first. Characters still come and go weirdly so you know that Donny Cates is writing them elsewhere (seriously. Ghost Rider and Silver Suffer don't do much of anything besides popping up here and there but they're in the "family" scene in the hospital with Rocket?)
It was kinda fun overall? Peter was competent and that's the least I can ask? I like Daddy Issues? The Drax thing was. Weird. I know "being alive" is already a weird thing when it comes to him because of the way he was artificially recreated but the whole "hey let's shove our memories of Drax into one of these hundreds of random bodies that look like him" thing is gonna leave me pondering about the philosophical implications for days
I gotta say, my judgment was a bit clouded as soon as I saw baby Magus. I can't tell if he's a good character but I'm absolutely obsessed with him now. Baby! Magus!!! WHAT THE FUCK!!! AND HE LOOKS ADORABLE!!! I WANNA STUDY HIM LIKE A BUG
Oh, Rich is awful in GOTG2019.
There's obviously everything going on with Pete & Gamora, but the second arc literally opens with the Nova Corps being massacred & he is never shown to react to it which feels... strange, to say the least.
I hate that 616 Starmora started the way that it did here; I think it did have some potential prior, to feed into the narrative about healing but instead, it feels incredibly awkward & contrived. I don't like the retcon that Peter has always been in love with Gamora; I don't like the idea of him being in love with someone he's manipulating, brainwashing & lying to (regardless of intent).
The second arc does flow a lot better than the first. I've still got my issues with it but it does work better than the first one.
The Drax thing is so??? We all knew after Infinity Wars that he'd be back but the ramifications of him coming back in this specific way... Ewing, the loml, did touch on them. The current writers don't seem to be doing that. Cates even had a chance to. The vagueness on what, exactly, Drax is now is frustrating.
Baby Magus makes me giggle BUT. I don't know where the fuck he came from. Magus's last appearance prior to that was being murdered by Ultron in Infinity Countdown and like, yeah, that series ends with Gamora going off with baby Magus leading into Thanos (2019) but I don't know what happened between Magus dying and the end of Infinity Wars to bring us to any version of Magus being alive.
I did, admittedly, spend most of Infinity Wars slamming my head against a wall so. my memory might be fuzzy.
The annual by Ewing <3 that man GETS cosmic Marvel & Richard Rider so so well. I'm glad he's still fiddling with bits over in X-Men: Red but god, I wish he was back on GOTG.

rambling about the BG3 ending (spoilers ahead), just getting some thoughts out
I finished BG3 yesterday and overall i loved the game but my god that ending was rushed and didn't really give any closure. I didn't free orpheus despite wanting to because my tav Crowe thought that staying with the emperor would be the most consistent choice to guarantee getting rid of the Netherbrain -- and that after Crowe would help Lae'zael and Voss with getting rid of Vlaakith cause if they're all mindflayers or dominated by the Netherbrain they wouldn't be able to do anything (i looked up what the Orpheus ending looked like after though and it's kind of a shame it doesn't seem to have much of an impact the Emperor is just like bye. Which i guess is in line with his character but it didn't have any oomf to it)
The epilogue helped a little bit with closure but this didn't exist until a month ago and definitely didn't make it a super satisfying ending it felt like a bandaid. W/o the epilogue the ending was
-Lae'zael says a couple quick lines to you and fucks off which is my bad for not taking the Orpheus ending, but it feels out of character that you can't offer to help or or at least talk to her so she can understand where you were coming from, that it felt like the bond you guys built up over the adventure meant nothing. She trusts the group to use her Silver sword?? Why won't she stay for a few words I feel like this isn't in character for her idk
-I was unable to finish Shadowheart's quest because the Shar Temple fight in Act 3 was insanely buggy for me and was crashing constantly. Shadowheart was not mentioned at all at the docks which is likely because I couldn't finish the quest but that's still weird they didn't account for people not doing companion quests. Like not even just one line about what Shart is going to do next. Ok.
-Halsin is not mentioned AT ALL and Crowe was partnered with him in addition to Astarion. In the epilogue you learn he's trying to help rebuild the Shadowlands area -- if Tav gets a scene at the end with Astarion why can't he have a quick scene with Halsin discussing he wants to go back to the Shadowlands
-You talk with Gale about what to do with the crown but you don't learn the consequences of that at all he just goes okay and walks away from the doc
-Astarion just runs away. He was Crowe's partner so they got a follow up scene but if this wasn't the case I imagine there isn't anything else. Even with a follow up scene wish there was more about what Astarion wanted to do with his life now that it's his.
-Wyll and Karlach insta leave to Avernus. I'm devastated by Karlach's ending and really wish there was a "better" ending for her in line with other companions BUT!!! This was oddly one of the endings I felt like had some closure/was in line with the story. Karlach got to have her moment at the docks that was heart wrenching and sad and didn't ignore the journey she went on and her friendship with Crowe
-Wyll deserved more than two lines before him and Karlach ran off to Avernus, like with the Ansurr quest/following up with him after we knew he was going to end up with Avernus, how he felt about that and why he was going to become the Blade of Avernus is great BUT LET HIM SAY GOODBYE TO HIS FRIENDS AND HIS CITY!!! >:(
I love that Wyll and Karlach get to be a devil slaying team in Avernus and just how much they've changed from the beginning of the game, you meet because Wyll is trying to find Karlach. And im here for a happy ending for Karlach but the epilogue feels like such whiplash LOL like she has this heart wrenching scene at the docks then the writers went "um oopsie. Actually her and Wyll found a way to fix her engine. Yay!" writers you need to COMMIT
The epilogue did help a little bit. It's nice to know what the companions are up to but it didn't fix the ending at all lol. BG3's characters are the strongest points in a game, it's such a whiplash to see the ending just tacked on. I still don't know what Astarion wants to do post game. Crowe wanted to help him find a way to walk in the sun and but what does Astarion want to do with his life now that he doesn't have Cazador or a tadpole in his head!!!!!
To me the game is obviously not finished and that's a shame because it's still such a good game but it could be BETTER. Act 3 lacks a lot of polish that Act 1 pulls you in with. Characters at camp don't have much to say in Act 3, you barely talk to them about anything, Halsin basically doesn't exist. The constant crashing after a certain point in Act 2 is just unacceptable, at one point i had to stop playing for a couple months because I literally couldn't progress through the crashing, and these technical issues dampened my enjoyment of the game a lot.
I also wish they made Tav's character choices matter more, like even stuff popping up in your dialogue more, or actually getting to meet your patron -- the "we're just leaving it up to your imagination" doesn't really work when all the Origins characters in your party have a huge backstory that matters throughout the game and Tav just doesn't. There wasn't a lot of moments where I was like YES Crowe feels so cool right now!! I know Durge apparently addresses some of this but that doesn't fix that Tav just feels like they're There. They def could've done more. Why doesn't Crowe ever get to talk to his patron as a Warlock. Why can't the game explore what kind of relationship they have. Crowe is a soldier from Baldur's Gate. Why can't he have connections to the Flaming Fists? Why can't he see his family? Why can't Crowe have religious connections and have that affect the story without being a cleric? He worships Illmater and returning home to the murder at the temple devastated him. Why can't there be a few dialogue options with him being familiar with someone at the temple. Like there's ways to improve on making Tav feel like they matter more even with just smaller stuff.
That's it for now but I might return with more thought dumping later

ANA I AM CURIOUS ABOUT HOW YOU THINK OF GUACHE/NISTRO I know you greatly appreciate droite but what about her partner in crime? 👁️
Omg I did realise at one point that I almost never talk about that guy as much as I should, so here lays my truest thoughts on Gauche/Nistro
•How do I feel about this character
I ABSOLUTELY ADORE HIS CHARACTER! He's so fun to watch and I feel deeply ashamed I used to feel differently about him at the beginning because of a stupid ship and that was such an embarrassing phase (I didn't engage in any ship drama thank god about that but my notp clouded my judgement AGHRHHH) but my taste improved luckily overtime and better late than never to make amends of my past mistakes
His upbeat personality is fun and all but SERIOUSLY GET A MAN LIKE HIM WHO CAN DO BOTH! This man can be a dork, high spirited, an idiot and be a hilarious character giving this big dumb energy muscular man while also being super skilled, intelligent in his own way and writers bothered to give a little bit of backstory and NOT be this one dimensional comic relief character like I thought he would be at the beginning??? LIKE?? I LOVE THAT??? AND FROM THE RECENT POLL HE'S A CERTIFIED MALEWIFE SO THERE'S THAT
And his interactions with Droite omg (I LOVE MY BABIES SO MUCH MUST PROTECT THEM AT ALL COSTS) WE. NEEDED. MORE. BANTER AND MORE SCENES OF THEM DOING THEIR JOB WHERE THEY JUST SQUABBLE (please why they never showed at least one frame of Droite and Gauche dueling tf, I'm not satisfied by that mind controlled Gauche tag duel only).
His design is so cool as well! I love he just discarded his work outfit as soon as he quit, like finally a character that proves me wrong about Zexal characters not having a wardrobe with the same smelly outfit in their home other than Kotori and few others (I'M LOOKING AT YOU CASWELL).
Also the Starmann costume...sorry but I can't take it seriously 😂 but I love the message behind it and how it is tied to his childhood where he and Droite lived in the streets and dueling became their star of hope.
•All the people I ship romantically with this character
Sorry but I don't ship him romantically with anyone, not even Droite and I'll explain why in a bit. For the other characters he has interactions and chemistry with they are all minors so nope.
•My non-romantic OTP for this character
This has to be Droite and Gauche. I can't see them in a romantic lens, to me they share more of a familial bond/sibling relationship more than anything, and the fact Droite found love in someone else kind of furthers my case.
The thought of Droite being the only family he ever had in a world where he was born with none feels more meaningful to me than any common romantic tropes. It also means they share a stronger bond as in family always comes first and would be there for eachother no matter what. The media lacks this kind of friendship and bond between a man and a woman who aren't related and seeing them in this light feels like a breath of fresh air and I'm here for it! Also did you guys notice the matching bracelet they share?? I would love to know the canon meaning behind it, but for now I interpret it as a symbol of their relationship which I interpret it as familial, just like Shark and Rio's rings.
•My unpopular opinion about this character
Honestly I'm not sure... I don't think I have any other than the fact I don't ship him with Droite romantically?
•One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon
Oh hohoho, I guess I have only a few things to say
I just think ending up liking a side character in Zexal is just hell, period, but goodness
Umm, Zexal, when were you planning to ever show, or rather, why hide, the fact GAUCHE HAS HIS OWN NUMBER CARD???
Tumblr media
HMMM???
Also I would have loved to see more interactions between Gauche and Alito. Despite their rocky start it is clearly shown they would make good friends. There were even drawn parallels between them where past Alito was a lot like Gauche, and they share the same fighting spirit. Anyway they would be good friends... too bad them being in good terms was never shown...
Also this is not a criticism but more of a wish where they expanded more in his and Droite's past and how they became elite and how he got that scar in his face. They never explained it or even shown a flashback of it. And because of how underdeveloped and mysterious they left it out to be I'm really having a confusing time understanding the true nature of his relationship with people in the Tower - they showed him having this big rivalry with Kaito and them being pissed around each other but in Spartan City, once Kaito saw him and Droite, he was smiling to the point his eyebrows became straight?? I want to know the lore stuff basically that I'll never get to knoww
Sorry if I missed anything but here is my answer!

Things That Surprised Me So Far
I've only been a published author for the better part of a year now. I am by no means saying that I'm successful, that I'm doing anything right, or that I've been doing exemplary research on what the typical author's experience is. All I'm saying is that the following things have surprised me. -The friends who will support you! (I probably mentioned this a couple times, but seriously, I'm still grateful for the friends who want to buy my book. It helps my salty heart realize that they probably do care.) -The people who want to support a local author. I recently did a book signing in my home town. A surprising number of people showed up specifically because they "wanted to support a local author." We can complain about people's taste in books, but at least they're still reading.
-The number of marketing companies that want writers to "craft a narrative." I've been looking to expand my experience and portfolio by looking for more writing jobs. Most of the job opportunities I'll see are ad companies that need someone to write their campaigns for them. Honestly, I'm a little disheartened by this. It makes me worried that good stories aren't being written because the market doesn't want good stories, they want glib ads. (Or maybe this is just me being an old man yelling out clouds.) Furthermore, the feral socialist in me thinks that the company owners should make their money honestly by crafting the narratives themselves.
-The Romance/Erotica demand. I wish I were joking. The next largest category of job opportunities I see looking for writers is romance novels. Inevitably, they also warn that they want "steamy" scenes. I'm not trying to sound like a prude, but I was under the impression that the internet is chock full of free steamy writings. This is probably another case of me being an old man yelling at clouds.
I'll probably write more later, but I wanted to put these thoughts down so that at least a few people may get a laugh out of it. And also point out to me how young and naive I am. Well, that's my writing journey so far. I'm curious what other interesting sights I'll see, even if they're the leavings I've stepped in.
