Taylor used to spend most of his time alone, and living with Hermie is a change that isn't unwelcome at all.

In these past years, Taylor had mostly kept to himself. Not really by choice, more by… circumstance.

At school, everyone liked him, but they all had their own cliques. Which was fine. He spent most of his time in the library reading manga anyway.

At home, he had his mom, but when she would be out at the recording studio, he was by himself.

Which is why waking up to hear the light switch flick on in the bathroom and the sink running has him rolling out of bed ready to strike whoever comes through the door.

That is, until he comes to his senses and remembers.

Not by himself.

Right.

Hermie is in the bathroom. Shared bathroom. Yes.

Well, Taylor might as well use this opportunity to check their room without disturbance.

Taylor quietly slips into their room and begins to inspect.

The closet is clear, the little nooks and crannies are clear…

Taylor's gaze lingers on the side of Hermie's bed.

The covers are hanging over the edge so he can't get a good look underneath without lifting them to reveal the space.

It's okay. It's fine.

Taylor stretches his arm out to put his cane under the covers, and slowly but surely, lift them, and fold them over onto Hermie's bed, keeping his distance.

For safety's sake.

Taylor crouches down and peers under the bed.

Nothing.

Okay.

Good.

Taylor sits on Hermie's bed and kicks the bunched up covers back down.

He lets out a breath.

It's different having Hermie around.

It's different from flying solo, but not at all unwelcome.

It's really cool, actually.

They're good company. And watching stuff together has been really fun.

Taylor likes hanging out with his mom too, but it's different with Hermie.

Like there's some sort of mutual understanding between the two. Hermie gets, fairly easily, how Taylor works.

"What are you doing in my—why are you in here?"

Taylor hadn't even realized they'd opened the door.

Hermie's hands are red—not just the scarred one, and there's a frown on their face.

"You wanna watch something with me?" Taylor asks.

"Right now?"

"Mhm!"

"Uh… sure?"

Taylor hops off the bed and starts toward the door.

"Let's go downstairs!"

Hermie follows, flicking off the lights of their room.

"Okay."

Yeah, living with Hermie is pretty sweet.
