My Confession about The Yogscast of Today

I hate say this. I feel less and less enjoying Yogscast. Over years I watching them, some of good old members of the Yogscast left or force to leave. And newer or latest ain't filling that gape that former member left behind. You can't replace those good rare moments with new people you just can't.

There's still a few good members I like are still around Duncan, Martin, Kim and Sips even Hat Films. But how long they last before they leave for some reason will make them leave hmm...? What made me loss interest w/ the Yogscast is Sjin left on he free will, and what pissed me off.

"There you happy now I fix it. I *BEEEP* FIX IT!"

I know some will disagreed but I felt like he was one of pieces what made Yogscast so great. Newest member ain't cut it, sorry but not sorry.

I been following the since at least 2012 around the Tekket series I feel like that spark starting fade out.

i have a confession 1) i use reddit 2) someone posted something about the yogscast in a meme subreddit and i joined in and now my inbox is blowing the fuck up with 20+ yr old redditors having a nostalgia moment over the yogscast in the thread which is nice and all but reddit is sending me an email for every single comment and i cant figure out how to turn it off

Confession: I never watched much CaptainSparklez growing up because I was into Yogscast. I knew some of the songs, of course, but that was really it and I Definitely didn’t know what he looked like but i have always known who he was of course. But I Do watch a ton of react videos and let me tell you it was a bit of a shock when i realized Way too late that the Jordan Reacts guy I was binge watching Idiots in Cars from at the time in late 2019 was CaptainSparklez. And that’s how i circled back around to actually watching his minecraft content

I’ve only ever played a dwarf once, and only for a couple of hours or so. My best friend banned me from ever playing a dwarf again, because I kept singing “Diggy Diggy Hole” from the Yogscast.

so. DreamOut turned into more of a yogscast crossover than it already was. long story. anyway lalnable is here now and wants to do science on wilbert

problem: back when we were first figuring out dreamout, ghostbur wasnt like. a thing yet. like the lmanberg explosion happened and wilbur died but i didnt know abt him being a ghost yet? so i went “well what if wilbur didnt die and philza just injured him really badly” for plot stuff etc etc anyway

...so, months later, i forgot about that. and wrote a fic that introduced the yogs crossover stuff, that i now need to rewrite because i forgot wilbur isn’t dead in this au.

what does the 77-2 discord do about this (besides murder wilbur ourselves)? come up with a convoluted plan where wilbur didnt realize philza was intentionally not killing him, thought philza left him alive on accident, and faked his own permadeath + coming back as a ghost.

so he’s now stuck between lalnable doing mad science on him thinking he’s undead, and confessing to philza (who has a lot of guilt abt killing wilbur when he didnt mean to) that he’s actually alive.

Hullo, I really don’t mean to come off as validating Doc’s stand so please don’t take it as me doing so if I do! That out of the way, would it be possible to salvage the situation in any way? I know that Doc said some real. Not good. Stuff. Would it be possible to change his stance on the situation if people managed to convey the ways in which his views are wrong collectively? (1/5)

He’s mentioned quite a few times and just recently again that he dislikes racism very much and perhaps showing that his stance is actually racist and explaining why it is will get him to reconsider and realise his wrongs? It may just be that he doesn’t see how what he’s doing is racist because in his eyes he’s making sure to pay due respects while playing the character (2/5)

(thus perhaps to him negating the “wrongness” of his action? Again, just a guess as to why Doc may think the way he does rn, not condoning it at all!!) but not seeing that the action of him playing an indigenous character itself is wrong. (3/5)

Perhaps if the misconception were addressed and the explanation as to why his behavior is wrong was done in a way that caught Doc’s attention in a way that does not appear biased and judgmental his mind may be able to be changed. Perhaps a few native watchers who are not comfortable with Doc’s stance could also explain why they are uncomfortable and prompt Doc into seriously having to reconsider if the very people he wants to portray are not in approval of it? I understand that it might take a lot of effort to compile such a document of such large degree to boot, but perhaps if something is agreed on or something else as unified, something may be able to be done/a possible solution be found to change the outcome of the current situation for the better? hey anon! i think this is genuinely a great idea, and i’d say that doc walking back his actions and admitting that he was mistaken would be one of the best ways this could possibly end up resolving. i’d hate for this to end up going the way of some previous mcyt stuff (yogscast comes to mind, though i was really on the outskirts of that).

organizing and explaining in a reasonable manner why the behavior is wrong and why his actions hurt - holding your heroes accountable, as it were - does the world for people who either can’t speak up or feel like they’re being ignored. so by all means (especially if you are white) please do contact doc! keep your interactions civil - i’m not looking to form a hate brigade or call someone out - but let him know in no uncertain terms that this stuff is unacceptable.

i’ll admit i don’t really have high hopes for the situation at hand - i’m a bit too cynical, i guess - but well thought-out and articulated arguments like yours do the world for people who are being ignored and spoken over. even if doc refuses to change, people standing behind those who were wronged is a very good thing.

(any indigenous/first nations/native followers, please add onto this if need be - i’ll confess we’re not exactly well-versed in this kind of discourse, this comes from a general place of “what to do when someone is being kind of a fuckass”)

Trouble In Jester Town

WC: 378 Parings: Xephna (kinda) Rating: SFW A/N: Lmao remember when I used to do this two years ago? Is yogshipping still even a thing? Do I even still watch the Yogscast? The answer to all these questions is: no. Is that going to stop me from making content? Also no. 

Ps: I am using their names in this mostly because it feels weird not to if you aint into that don’t read I guess.

The windows have been long blown out of his makeshift shelter and gunshots mix with laughter in the background. His breath is coming out if huffs. Up down. Up down. He can feel his heart attempting to escape from his chest. He can hear them calling his name.

He is probably going to die here.

A gunshot whizzed by his head. He is not alone, he cock his gun aims and… and?

“Jesus Christ Lewis! Don’t RDM!” its Duncan. He couldn’t be the traitor right? Although with Zylus’ insistence of his 100% win rate being inforced by killing indiscriminately Lewis still wasn't too sure if he was safe.

“Thank Christ it’s you Duncan!” Even if he was a traitor him showing up still gave Lewis happy butterflies, “How the shit are you still alive?”

Duncan grinned and rubbed the back of his neck, “Tom ratted me out as the Jester.” the lopsided grin that came with his confession made Lewis flush.

“Well there’s only a few minutes left in the round would you care to wait them out with me?” Duncan nodded and pulled a box over and sat next to him.

A ringing gunshot made Lewis flinch, “You alright there?”

Lewis’ flush deepened- albeit this time due to embarrassment. He tried to play it off, “Ooh Duncan I’m so scared won't you hold me?” he says jutting his body into an awkward effeminate pose.

Although Duncan definitely picks up on the heavy layer of sarcasm he still goes over and picks Lewis up enveloping him in a warm embrace. He presses his lips to Lewis’ crown and strokes his back.

Lewis freezes for a moment, but then relaxes almost immediately.

Neither of them hear Zylus enter. They damn well feel the bullet rip through both of them.

“WAIT WHAT THE FUCK WHICH ONE OF YOU WAS THE JESTER” Zylus yells to the sky.

A voice, seemingly from nowhere responds, “ZYLUS WHAT THE FUCK YOU KNEW DUNCAN WAS THE JESTER” a disembodied voice rips through the map.

“YOU DUMB IDIOT!” another voice calls

Zylus sighs in a manner that could almost be seen as screaming, “My 100% win rate...”

The map reloads and the boys start at it again, but this time Lewis has somebodies hand to hold.

I don’t watch Yogscast much, what happened?

Ahh yes, well, as a whole the company isn’t doing so great re: what personalities and content they’re bringing on, and all the fantastic folks they had during the golden days (tbh while they had narrative modded Minecraft series running) have split. As for Sj*n specifically, he finally was investigated for nude soliciting allegations and he (along with CEO Turps, who confessed to similar behavior) left.

So the new Yogscast is kiiinda garbage (only three original members remain) and while Sj*n was still a garbo back then, the character is worth plucking from him and we can just pretend that he was an NPC.
