What makes this especially weird is that some fans have headcanoned for years- I believe some of them before Deltarune- that Asriel had star stickers on his ceiling in Undertale.

Maybe it's largely fixed but can change depending on what traits work on what monsters. It's probably also dependent on your level of Determination. I shouldn't be making references to fanmade AU's at all, but we never see Clover's SOUL change color, for instance.

Determination works on Toriel and Jevil because you have to stand your ground and survive (or kill, as the case may be). Papyrus requires Integrity because he stays true to himself (yes, I know, he lies, but he's still always true to his own self). Undyne requires Kindness to calm her down, because she sees humans as unkind, as murderers. Muffet requires Perseverance because she has us trapped, and our only way out (unless you have spider food) is to just last through the battle. Mettaton and Spamton both require Justice because these are two characters who think they are above the rules and should be allowed to gain whatever they want (mostly fame) without any consequences.

Oddly enough, Bravery and Patience never appear as SOULs in the game until we see them at the end. However, Bravery and Patience ARE the colors of certain attacks: you have to move through orange attacks (Bravery) and stay still for cyan attacks (Patience). Takes courage to move INTO something that can kill you, and patience to wait the attack out.

Perhaps Bravery and Patience both decided to let their abilities fly into the wind when they died? And now all monsters have absorbed the power. Maybe it mixed with their magical abilities or something.

The assumption at this point is that all the SOULs will appear in future chapters of Deltarune. And that's logical: 7 chapters, 7 SOUL colors. Only time will tell.

Maybe I’m being silly and they do explain this in UT, but how do SOUL colours work ?? Like I know that certain colours represent certain traits, but like. How? Can your soul colour change with your personality? Your mindset? Or is it locked? Sorry for dumping all this in your ask box lol

listen. our best source of Lore on this is like. a fucking bad physics mini game that inexplicably has text about the soul colors. we don't know anything at all.

I know there was a (small and good-natured) argument about it in my Twitch chat when I streamed DR a few months ago, whether the wrist protector was a real thing or not. There were one or two people who HAD found it and had forgotten about it.

"Don't forget," indeed....

I recorded this video and posted it on my other YT channel in 2021. At the time, it seemed silly- I was brand new to the franchise while everyone else had already discovered all the secrets.

But since the Steam version was released, a lot of people can't remember if the wrist protector was even real. Fans who never played SURVEY-PROGRAM don't believe in the existence of Wrist Protector.
