I’ve noticed a distinct lack of love for the kid from the first ep of TSON who helped noone and the workers, so here’s some art with some HCS (Kid on the left, I’ll just call them goo kid, worker on the right)

Goo kid fell into a vat of some weird ass shit shadow goop in the factory

They use this to their advantage to basically blend in with the workers

Goo kid is around 6 to 7 years old and was relatively young when they were taken to the nowhere

Because of the factory having a lot of darker areas and the goop messsing with their eyes, they don’t have great vision and they’re nearly blind in one eye. They also have some hearing issues due to basically getting exposed to loud ass factory equipment constantly. Due to this, they’re very tactile and they often try to hold the hands or touch the faces of other children, but it’s often met with rejection due to often getting mistaken as a worker and usually not properly asking to do so. Their sense of smell is also pretty fried

Goo kid is mostly non-verbal and has a very limited vocabulary as a result of being taken so young and spending most of their time around the workers who don’t speak

The workers often try to give them tools like hammers and wrenches, thinking that they’re another worker

Even if a worker realizes they’re not one of them, they tend to not be very aggressive towards them because they’re very used to them being there. They’re mainly aggressive when goo kid is with another child or gets too close to the machinery

Goo kid’s clothes were taken from a worker. Most of them wear workers overalls, but it’s very common for the overalls to be heavily damaged as the shadow goop stuff isn’t that good when on fabric and they’re often torn by machinery

Because of lack of exposure to light, goo kid has pretty pale skin, which is also very sensitive to the sun, along either their eyes

Worker head canons

Workers act smarter when alone/in small groups and show a lot more individual personality as well. When they’re in groups, the hive mind kind of takes over and they become completely engrossed in keeping the factory running. This is why they tend to act quite dull/stupid when together, but the individual workers seemed to stalk/observe Noone and goo kid before striking

Like nomes, workers do hoard items, often in their pockets/pouches or tool belts if they have one, but they also like to hoard items in their own little nooks and crannies



They sometimes accidentally (or purposefully) steal each other’s tools while working, and yes, they will brawl over a wrench, but they often don’t notice/don’t know who took it

Workers can coalesce into far bigger shadow amalgamations, but it can only occur in very low light conditions, and only if the situation is bad

They have great eyesight in the dark and can see a ton of detail when up close, but otherwise, their vision is quite poor. Their hearing, on the other hand, is excellent, and like birds when they call, their ears have a sort of shadow muscle something something like that that closes when near loud machinery. This is another reason why goo kid doesnt talk besides being primarily non verbal and why they stop noone from speaking. Their hearing also helps with noticing if a machine needs fixing

Workers walk on their toes and their feet are rarely flat on the ground. This, coupled with their claws causes them to have a unique sounding footstep

Their toes/feet are very flexible, allowing them to scramble around and climb quite well

Their arms are proportionally longer since they often work with tools that are quite large for them

Workers can scramble around on all fours quite effectively

Some of them have exposed teeth

They often grab goo kid/lead him “back to the group” when they find them far away from where most of the workers are. It makes exploring difficult, but if goo kid gets stuck/lost, it can be very helpful

Goo kid is a bit scared of the workers, but because they tend to just think they’re another worker, they aren’t absolutely terrified

Singular workers are generally more playful and curious. They’re also more likely to notice something is different about goo kid. They poke them and sometimes try to apply some of the shadow goop to their face thinking that there’s something wrong with him

Rotmistress is a term and flag coined by @gender-darling describing a gendermistress subset wherein one’s gender is related to being a rot mistress, a rotting mistress, a mistress of rot, etc!

This Magical Kid has a Eveningwear/Morbid Theme! He uses They/He Pronouns and Rot/Rots/Rotself, Gore/Gores/Goreself, Slash/Slashes/Slasheself, and Skel/Skele/Skels/Skeles/Skeleself Neopronouns!

Rots name is Havok, after horror author Rayne Havok! They can rot anything they touch- living things start to fester and rot, concrete crumbles, food spoils, etc. this only happens if skel wills it tho, which is good because otherwise they’d be rotting their teammates left and right. Havok’s surprisingly touchy feely for someone with a ‘Morbid’ theme.

Rots Magical Kid weapons are ten throwing knives somehow hidden in their garters. Havok can summon the knives back to his garter after they’ve made contact.

A useless fact about slash is that slash is fiercely protective of slashes teammates, to the point that they’ve been affectionally dubbed a mom friend. Havok doesn’t usually get along with other Magical Kids, however, but that’s due to his own awkwardness talking to strangers or people younger than him.

Magical Kid Project Lore - 3

Police do not exist in the world of TMKP.

Well, they USED to exist. A lot of older Magical Kids still remember when cops were a thing, and they are NOT fond.

Magical Kids starting becoming more common in the US around the 1970s, and basically just… slowly took on the roles that police were supposed to fill, and did them better. They’re especially good at negations- prison populations dropped incredibly as Magical Kids spread. Magical Kids are very adept in the magic of friendship, and you will be dragged kicking and screaming into self improvement.

Additionally, police were constantly trying to arrest Magical Kids due to misguided fear or just outright bigotry. The public did NOT take kindly to this.

America finally abolished their police system in the early 1980s, after a steady decline in civilian faith in the idea. As Magical Kids continued to pop up around the world, other nations declared their police forces inessential, until finally the institution was extinct.

Hey, suffice to say when there is a cosmic goddamn threat, and the only people able to fight it are being tripped up and attacked by the police, a lot of people prefer to defund the police.

Glacintigniserm is a term and flag coined by @objectum-conceptum describing an intersex identity where one’s gender is expressed outwardly as cold or dull while inwardly it is fiery and passionate!

This Magical Kid has a Fire/Ice theme! They use He/They/She Pronouns!

His name is Surya, after the first woman to do a backflip in an ice-skating routine- it’s a name that means Sun! They can control temperature which doesn’t SOUND useful until they melt your insides. Children love her because he can guarantee a White Christmas. He usually works around water because they can freeze it to increase their speed through skating.

His Magical Kid Weapons are his skates, which never dull and are especially sharp. They’re adept in flying kicks with deadly efficiency.

A useless fact about her is that she has RBF and is very competitive, but a total sweetheart who’s hella passionate about what they do. They have a tendency to glare at people they’re interested in competing against or befriending, but rest assured knowing they are beaming internally!

Hello! I’m sorry if this has been answered before and I just missed it but is it alright to use art of a magical kid as an icon/etc? I always put visible clear credit and a link to the post the art came from but I prefer not to use it without asking. It’s totally cool to say no!

Quick note before we begin, this Kid’s Image ID was written by my friend @nerdiwolverine and only edited by me!

Intercusper is a term and flag coined by @isobug and inspired by the term Cusper (specifically the flag and definition which were compiled by @beyond-mogai-pride-flags) describing someone whose gender identity is on the cusp of being transgender or gender non-conforming in a way directly related to or caused by the individual’s intersex variation or experience!

This Magical Kid has a Heavenly Bodies Theme! It uses He/They/She/It pronouns and Cel/Cer/Celes/Celeself, Glim/Glimmer/Glimmers/Glimmself, Rev/Rever/Rie/Reverself, Halo/Halos/Haloself, and Cherub/Cherubs/Cherbuself Neopronouns!

Her name is Jemima, a biblical name that means dove, but they’ll also go by Gem! Glimmer can smite enemies, which essentially means burn them to a goddamn crisp once halo gets halos hands on them. Well, technically all the fire does is burn out the evilness in their heart/all ill will but it certainly LOOKS like they can just set people on fire at a touch. It’s very useful for intimidation purposes. They can do this to allies as well- it has no effects other than setting them on fire, but the fire doesn’t hurt. So basically Jemima can create an infinite fire source by lighting an ally on fire and pointing them towards a particularly flammable group of enemies.

Its Magical Kid Weapon is a flaming sword which… honestly can’t do much? It’s hot, sure, but if an enemy’s close enough for Gem to even USE their sword they are close enough to smite.

A useless fact about rever is that rev is…. A tiny bit outcast by the general Magical Kid population. You see, the main antagonist (who will here be gaining the moniker The One) has a very heavy holy theme, and when they corrupt civilians they take on an Angel theme. Essentially, Jemima’s appearance is the equivalent of someone with long black hair and red eyes ominous standing around. Sure, a lot of magical kids are friendly, but most of the older ones steer clear. It’s a little grating on their confidence. Another useless face is that their eyes are always closed.

Could you do a disability pride magical kid with a changeling theme, hearing aids and adhd?

Because I received two asks for this one, and I’d already designed the first kid, I decided to make them both and just give them different variations of the flag! They’re the ONLY exception to the “Only one Kid per flag” rule.

This flag was requested by two different Anonymouses!

This iteration of the Disability Pride Flag was created by Anne Magil, but was later redesigned due to the brightness causing seizures if viewed alone. I think that if I show these Magical Kids again in an unshaded environment, I will also desaturate the first’s Colors as well to make them both accessible.

The Kid on the left has a Stormcloud theme while the Kid to the right is MEANT to have a Changeling theme but I. Didn’t know how to do do that, so she’s based on the MLP Changelings, I.e. bugs, so she either has a Changeling theme or a Butterfly theme depending on how you look at her. The kid to the left uses She/Her pronouns while the kid to the right switches between She/Her, He/Him, and They/Them pronouns!

The Kid to the left is named Saifon, which means rain or rainfall, while the Kid to the right is named Lalita, which means playful and/or charming! Saifon can move at super speeds with the sound of thunder, while Lalita can turn into a cloud of butterflies. After reducing himself to butterflies, Lalita can turn into a carbon copy of Saifon- this form is temporary, and cannot use Saifon’s super speed.

Saifon’s Magical Girl weapon is lightning bolts- basically sticks of energy she can toss around. They can fry you something fierce, which is bad when she’s zooming around deafening you with thunder and hitting you with lightning at Mach 5. Meanwhile, Lalita’s Magical Kid weapon is a pair of scissors that can cut through any substance. This is a reference to the fact that in some changelings myths, you can reveal the Changeling by giving them scissors.

A useless fact about them is that they’re half siblings- Saifon is the older child, whose parents divorced, but her father remarried and had Lalita with his new wife. Their families are super close, though, and the two regard themselves as full siblings. Additionally, Saifon is Thai/African American while Lalita is Thai/Chinese!

Genderfluff is a term coined by @twink-flags describing a gender that is light, soft and fluffy!

This Magical Kid has a Fluffy/Y2K theme! They use They/Them pronouns and Soft/Softs/Softself, Fluff/Fluffs/Fluffself and Glitter/Glitters/Glitterself Neopronouns!

Fluffs name is Puffy for, well, obvious reasons! There’s no inspiration there, but Puffy relates to Fluffy word wise so… anyway, glitter can turn items fluffy! You wouldn’t THINK that has any practical use, bit most opponents seem to stop fighting and start freaking when their insides turn fluffy, even if it’s harmless. Their power is great for confusing enemies, and luckily the fluffiness factor is reversible at will.

Fluffs Magical Kid weapon is a taser shaped like a phone! The phone is completely functional, but releases a STRONG electric shock. The shock scales according to the tolerance of the opponent, while the phone itself is indestructible and never runs out of batteries. Because fluffs power is useless outside of the right circumstances, their weapon can really pack a wallop!

A useless fact about them is that they had cancer in their leg, which had to be amputated. Glass saved them by making them a Magical Kid, which in turn killed the cancer that had spread.

Yes, I’ve been planning to do that! I’m trying to figure out a better way to do it, though- while I used them on my Transfemme and Transmasc Kids, it was taxing on my attention span.

One of the funnest parts of The Magical Kid Project is creating civilian forms of Magical Kids!

I have a lot of free time to draw in class, but as soon as I open my Procreate I get unworkable. So I started designing civillian Magical Kids, to determine how Kids change from their Civilian Forms! These also have a lot of notes about their civilian identities and through what method they became Magical Kids!

It’s worth noting here that ‘Magical Kid’ and the shortening ‘Kid’ are both applicable no matter your actual age. Doesn’t matter if you’re 69, you’re a Magical Kid. The difference is that Kid, capitalized, is a title while kid, lowercase, is indicative of age!

This is of Cirrus the Trans Flag Kid, Angel the Birose Flag Kid, Atlantis the AroAce Flag Kid, Soleil the Lesbian Flag Kid and Audie the Autigender Flag Kid!

These are Licorice the Catgender Flag Kid, Kit the Katsunegender Flag Kid, Nepeta the Catnipgender Flag Kid and Tutti the Trans Barbie Flag Kid!

These are of Thistle the Rowanian Flag Kid, Acherontia the Ambiguish Flag Kid, Charca the Sharkgender Flag Kid, and Colman the Fairadornix Flag Kid!

Last but not least we have Meltzer the Intersex Flag Kid and Eira the SicklySister Flag Kid! It’s unnoted here, but Meltzer is about 17-18 and was Saved, while Eira is just barely 30 and performed an Act of Courage!
