D & V for the ask game 😊
D: What’s the most personal fanfic you’ve written?
...probably my Professor Kenobi fics 😂 i tend to write them when I'm feeling super nostalgic about academia. I have some regrets about leaving it, so then I just write silly (usually smutty lol) obikin stories about grading or conferences or tenure.
V: Are there certain comments you’ve received on your stories that have stuck with you?
I re-read every comment I get multiple times, even though I've been super bad at replying to them lately (and by lately I mean for the last year and a half at least 😭). I cannot overstate how much joy they all bring me. But @tessiete once wrote me a poem as a comment years ago and I still think about it😂💖
Thank you so much for the ask! <3 <3

A for the ask game!
A: Of the fanfic you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?
That would have to be to have and to hold (both the individual fic and the series). I really enjoy getting into Obi-Wan's mind in these fics because he's always thinking in a million different directions--million steps ahead and a million steps backwards and a million steps to every side. It makes them difficult to write but it's like a puzzle and I do love puzzles.
Thank you so much for asking! <3

Oo, M and N for the ask game?
(M: What’s the weirdest AU scenario you’ve ever come up with?  Did it turn into a story?
N: Any fic ideas brewing that you’d care to share?)
M: What’s the weirdest AU scenario you’ve ever come up with?  Did it turn into a story?
Maybe the AU where Thrawn is a politician 😂 I did write a drabble based on that for Thrantovember one year.
N: Any fic ideas brewing that you’d care to share?
I really want to expand this Thrantovember drabble where Thrawn and Eli pretend to be lovers to hide the fact that they're spying on the Empire, and I've been thinking about that a lot.
And I really want to finish the Thrantovember prompts from last year because I regret that life got too busy for me to finish, so I've been thinking a lot about those, too! I stopped halfway through the one for day 10, which was "Safe Space," which was/is going to be an Eli hurt/comfort piece
Everything hurts. Maybe that’s a little dramatic, but it’s true.  “Can you tell me where it is you hurt, Lieutenant Commander?” Everywhere, he goes to say, but something deep in his mind stops him. That won’t be helpful. That’s not precise. He picks something at random. It isn’t like it won’t be true, too. “My head.”
Thank you so much for the ask! <3

h & n for the ask game?
H: How would you describe your writing style?
Ohhh, I don't know! I think I rely on introspection a lot? I would say "concise" because I like to write short, but sometimes I use way more words to say something than I really need to 😂
N: Any fic ideas brewing that you’d care to share?
This one's been on my mind forever and I'm determined to finish it this year--Anakin reads romance novels and it saves the galaxy.
There's also an Obikin hurt/comfort I'd really like to finish where Anakin doesn't fall and the Republic wins the war. Anakin and Obi-Wan have become estranged in the years after because of Anakin's guilt over what almost happened--but then they're paired together on a mission. Here's a little bit of it:
He scowled. He’d known all along that this mission was a bad idea, and here they were—shot down out of the sky on an isolated moon. He could hear the sigh in Obi-Wan’s voice when it sounded. “Anakin—” “I said I’ve got it,” Anakin ground out. He threw the words over his shoulder, stubbornly refusing to turn to look at their intended recipient. They sounded loud in his own ears, though they weren’t, not really. It was just that the walls of the tiny hold seemed to amplify every sound. He breathed out slowly through his nose, teeth tight together, and tried to force the faltering joints of his durasteel fingers to move with a precision they weren’t currently capable of. “Just—don’t worry about it. Is the beacon working?” “The beacon is fine,” Obi-Wan said, irritated, and there was a beat of frustration in his voice, so familiar that it made Anakin’s fingers fumble all the more. “And you have a hole in your shoulder, so I believe I’ll worry about it all the same.” “I can handle it,” Anakin snapped. There was silence for a long moment before Obi-Wan gave a gusty sigh—the kind he used to give when Anakin was a Padawan and did something infuriating. “Does it ever occur to you that you don’t have to?”

L and X!
L:  Which of your fanfics was the most emotionally challenging to write?
Maybe game plan (Obikin)? I find longer fics difficult to write, and 11k is a lot for me 😅 I really struggled to keep the continuity right and to hit the notes I wanted to so I had a lot of highs and lows while writing it. And I'm not sure if challenging is quite the right word, but I did actually cry more than once while writing through the dark (like two flames) (Cal/Kanan), which is not typical for me--I was just feeling a lot of emotions about the Jedi and Order 66, I guess.
X: How would you categorize your fanfic reading?  Are you a voracious reader?  Do you carefully pick and choose?  Something in between?
I would say it swings back and forth? There are times when I'll go through a ship or fandom tag and just click on almost every single thing, and I'll sometimes consume hundreds of words of fanfic in a weekend, especially if I've just gotten into a new fandom. Other times, because my job is really reading-heavy, I find I don't have the capacity to read much fic for weeks or months, and then I'll just occasionally pick and choose stuff from my Marked for Later page. But I've been reading fic for almost twenty-five years now, so it's definitely a constant for me 😂

For the ask game: J and T!
J:  What’s your favorite fanfic trope?  Have you written it?
I answered this one over here, but to pick another one that's high up there for me: hurt/comfort!!! I've written it so many times; a few of my favourites: where i wish (right beside you) (Thranto), and gravity brings us down (Obikin), slow count (BlackBonnet), and how to say i love you (Xicheng).
T: Any fanfic tropes you can’t stand?
There are definitely things I'm not a fan of reading, but I genuinely cannot think of any right now that I can't stand 😂 And I'll generally be willing to give anything a try if it's by an author I like/trust.
Thank you so much for the ask! <3

I & Y!
I: How many fandoms have you written in?  Do you have a favorite?
I guess I could say Star Wars is my favourite just by how many I've written 😂 As for how many I've written in, I honestly probably couldn't remember them all. On my AO3 account there's six (Stargate SG-1, Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Our Flag Means Death, The Hobbit, and MDZS), but I've had accounts on so many platforms in so many fandoms over the years - Digimon, Gundam Wing, Animorphs, and Buffy are all fandoms that come to mind that I've written in. And there's a number I've written in/am currently working on something in that haven't been posted as well.
Y: What are your thoughts on your personal satisfaction with something you’ve written vs. the popularity of your stories?  Do you tend to be most satisfied with your most popular stories?
While I am quite happy with my most popular story, for the most part, the ones I'm most satisfied with are not even close to as popular. Like some of the ones I'm happiest with are honestly drabbles that I've written for Thrantovember over the years! I tend to be most satisfied with shorter pieces where I just can just really feel every word "click."
Thank you so much for the ask! <3

Hi! Z and Q for the ask game?
Z: Is there a story you’ve written that doesn’t seem to get much love?
I'm pretty much over the moon at any interaction or love any of my fics get, so instead I'll just list a few recent-ish ones that I'm really fond of: The Great Name-Day Catastrophe (Obikin), wedding bells in the distance (Anakin & Cody, off-screen ObiRex), and a measure of rest (Bo-Katan/Sabine).
Q: Do you like getting prompts from your readers?
I adore prompts. I live for prompts. I routinely beg for prompts 😂 I am simply terrible at fulfilling them in a timely matter (or sometimes at all...I'm so sorry to any prompts in my inbox that have been sitting there for ages). But some of my favourite pieces I've written have come from prompts and my inbox is always open to them!
Thank you so much for the ask! <3

J & R?
J:  What’s your favorite fanfic trope?  Have you written it?
Only One Bed/Bed Sharing, without a doubt! I've written it a few times -- down beside me, no space between stars, and a vacationer's guide to being unexpectedly married, to name a few!
R: Which writers (fanfic or otherwise) do you consider the biggest influence on you and your writing?
So many! To name just a couple, the way @tessiete gets into characters' heads is something I'm always trying to figure out how to do, @darkisrising gets to the heart of characters and stories in her drabbles in a way that has really helped me think about the way I put words together, and @ragnarlothcat's dialogue is amazing and always inspires me to put more effort into that part of my writing.
Thank you so much for the ask! <3
