Alright, five things that make me happy!

storms, and the moments just before and just after the storm breaks.

music. any music. all music. i love it so much. best thing ever.

laughter. this might sound a bit odd but just...the sound of people enjoying life? is beautiful?

i saw the panic that ensued when ao3 suddenly went down a few weeks ago for like six hours. i was PART of the panic that ensued. this isn't even a shitpost - if ao3 accounts told me i had to overthrow the government i'd be burning down the parliament 5 minutes later. (honestly, i'd be doing everyone a favour - it isn't like my government is any good anyway smh)

agreed BUT

it feels like walking into a forest you haven't been to in years. and you still know the paths like the back of your hand, and the forest knows you too, and welcomes you back. perhaps the paths are more overgrown in some places, perhaps you get lost once or twice, but you still know these woods, and they still know you.

it feels like a tame animal becoming wild. it feels like adrenaline and blood and teeth and claws. it feels feral. it feels untameable. it speaks to a part of your soul you forgot existed, and reminds you of all that you once were, of all that you can still be. it pushes you to be better, to do more.

it feels like coming home. it feels like going wild.

so it turns out that listening to The Amazing Devil for the first time in almost a year does actually feel a bit like coming home.

This one is about how Vi left Powder, and how Silco saw his own pain reflected in her. It's about Jinx wishing Vi would come back, and always messing things up, and how in the end she kills Silco just like she killed Mylo and Claggor.

Pretty self explanatory. Jinx's spiral into madness.

Peter Pevensie:

This one does require a bit of explanation. It reminds me of Peter after Aslan sent him out of Narnia, and everytime I hear these lyrics I think of Peter, who gave everything to Narnia, being sent back to his world with no hope of return.

Susan Pevensie:

Fair (The Amazing Devil)

And he, he curses at the world For leaving him behind, and he's falling out of touch

This for me, shows how Susan has always been out of touch - Narnia spit her out and then she didn't fit into her world, and then when she tried to fit into her world her siblings cast her out.

The Calling (The Amazing Devil)

I look into the waters and see a face I don't understand We're both unwanted daughters But there's more than water in these autumn hands I look into the waters and see a face I don't recognize Who's this? (Who're you?) "What changed?" I ask "So strange," she replies

Again, this always reminds me of Susan's battle to know who she is and to fit into a world she doesn't belong in.

Merlin:

I'll keep the king Keep him safe at bay I'll keep him safe from the dark things that wait In that house at the top of the rock

Obviously, this is about Merlin and his dedication to keeping Arthur safe.

Ruby Rose

Okay, so this one is about the way that Ozpin put everything on Ruby's shoulder and made her believe that she was the only one who could save Remnant.

Again, this shows me how much Ruby struggles with the weight of the world on her shoulders, and how hard she tries before eventually giving up.
