“There was an idea, to bring together a group of of remarkable people to see if they could become something more.”
I know what you’re thinking, from seeing the title of this post, you think I hate the Marvel Cinematic Universe and want to “fix it,” and I can assure you— that no I don’t hate the MCU and I don’t want to fix it. My idea is to utilize the mission statement of Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, and write about an MCU-Adjacent Earth in which Marvel Studios had all of their characters from the start. What would Phase One have looked like if The Avengers weren’t the only characters around? What if the X-Men and Fantastic Four were pre-established teams or just coming up as The Avengers were? What if Peter Parker got bit by the spider shortly after the Battle of New York?
That’s all this is, a reimagining of the MCU. “Rewriting,” sounds harsh now that I think of it, but I’ll leave it.
Any character already in the MCU, I want you to think of them with the MCU actor in mind, anyone who isn’t? I’ll be fancasting for those roles! In the case of The Fantastic Four though, I’ll be using the newly announced castings for their likenesses!
I already have one story written, would it be weird to post a full comic book script to tumblr? Let me know!!
There are some things I’ll change, like costumes will be more comic booky and less militaristic unless it makes sense for a character like Captain America, but even then, I prefer the classic suit. Basic things like characterization will stay the same unless they were characterized badly in the MCU… I’m speaking specifically about Moon Knight here.
Anyway, again, sorry for the rant! Buckle up, because there will be lots of MCU project posts incoming!!

Stop me if you hate the concept: short, fat, hairy lady gets isakai'd into a high fantasy, and instead of "oh look at all these ethereal elves woe for I am but a flawed mortal" routine she lands in Dwarf territory and is immediately revered as the most enchanting and desirable maid in all the land. This immediately becomes a zesty romantic drama. Thoughts

"To me, my X-Men."
Hey, all! So, the trailer for, "X-Men '97," came out four days ago, and for some reason, the trailer sparked controversy in the fandom. The main controversy surrounded Morph, who in the revival will be nonbinary. Which just makes sense for their character, honestly. Of course a character whose gender is fluid because of their ability to shapeshift wouldn't conform to one of the binary genders. But the controversy came from conservative X-Men fans, which in itself is an oxymoron. There are no conservative X-Men fans. At least, not real ones. Because fans of these characters and their stories would understand that they have always been stand-ins for oppressed minority groups fighting for equality. The metaphors may be a bit dated in our modern world, but still, when used well, they are still effective.
I don't understand how you can watch or read any story in the X-Men's history and not understand, let alone SEE the themes in play. Humans calling Mutants slurs, throwing things at them in public, calling for them to be hanged hearkens back to the Civil Rights movement of the 60s. Bobby Drake's parents asking him, "Have you tried not being a mutant?" in, "X-Men 2," is similar to parents asking their gay children, "Have you tried not being gay?" some of it is subtext, but most of it is hammered over your head, "THIS IS AN ALLEGORY." Not subtext. Just text.
The other controversy stemmed from someone on Twitter stating that, "Cyclops would have a Blue Lives Matter," sticker plastered on his bumper." And um. NO. Scott Summers is lot of things. Bootlicker is not one of those things. Scott is as anti-cop as they come.
To end this little rant, I'll just post some of my favorite Cyclops moments from comics!

HELLO TUMBLR!! Been a while, coming at you live with some more thought’s on the, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” franchise!! Specifically two iterations: the IDW Comics and the film, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem.
I’m just gonna come right out and say it, I’ve been seeing a lot of people saying that Mutant Mayhem has a Hamato Yoshi problem— and while it MIGHT, it also MIGHT NOT.
I have a theory. I know, in the age of New Rockstars MCU theories, that’s not very popular to say, and I may sound crazy for even saying any of this, but it is just a theory.
So as we know, Hamato Yoshi is incredibly important to the mythos of the TMNT, and yet… Mutant Mayhem is the only iteration of this universe to have him be completely absent. Does not exist. Not even a reference to him. But why is this? Splinter’s just a street rat? Wasn’t a pet? Interesting. But that brings me to my theory…
In the IDW Comics, Splinter is both a pet rat AND also Hamato Yoshi. To simplify: Yoshi was a man who lived centuries ago, in Feudal Japan. He and his four sons were murdered by the Shredder and reincarnated in the present day as a rat and four baby turtles. Maybe Mutant Mayhem doesn’t have a Hamato Yoshi problem, maybe Splinter’s been lying about their true origin. Leaving out important details because he doesn’t see the need. To him, Shredder isn’t around anymore. He doesn’t see the need to tell his sons about the cosmic origin of their existence.
It would explain how he and the turtles are so skilled when it comes to fighting. Watching martial arts films and youtube tutorials doesn’t make you a ninja! Ninja training does. If I’m right, I’m very excited for the future of the Mutant Mayhem universe, and if I’m wrong? I’m still super excited! I think it’d be neat if the Splinter/Shredder dynamic was shaken up. Though, I do hope I’m right. The reincarnation origin is my favorite so far.
Anyway, that’s it! Hope ya enjoyed my ramblings. Love ya’ll. PEACE!
