This is a regularly repeating conversation that covers anything and everything. Lost an organ? Well, you didn’t ask. Secretly eloped? Never came up. Adopted a child? Well, I’m telling you now. Spent four months in an alternate dimension and came back ten minutes after you left? Huh, could have sworn I mentioned that, but to be fair it’s not like you asked.

And every. Single. Time. Batman is just like… No? It’s not? Why would I have thought to ask that?

Barbara tells Bruce it’s karma for never telling the Justice League anything. Bruce is not amused. Barbara proceeds to invite him to her wedding.

Bruce: I didn’t know you were dating anyone?

Barbara:

Barbara: Well, it’s not like you asked.

Bruce: *eye spasms*

I feel like Selina leaving bruce at the altar was very heartbreaking. I can definitely see him getting super depressed after that

How do you think the batkids helped? And clark, who has feelings for bruce?

Dick: went to Bruce's side immediately, helping talk him down from whatever he's about to do (or not do).

Jason: making somewhat worrying threats about hunting Selina down (?) and then not elaborating about what he'd do once he caught her.

Tim: charmed the mayor into turning the reception into an impromptu rally/benefit to take the focus off Bruce. using his phone to lock down assets/accounts/informants Selina has access to in between conversations.

Damian: joining in on Jason's threats, considering calling Talia to see what she'd think about all this (spoiler alert: she would not approve).

Cass: in the corner with Barbara and Steph trying to figure out which family member they're going to have to take out if they try to hunt after Selina (probably Jason).

Barbara: helping Tim lock down accounts/etc on her tablet, keeping an eye on Jason with Cass to make sure "I'll make her pay for this" doesn't become (another) murder charge.

Steph: with Cass and Barbara, secretly feeling really bad for Bruce. someone handed her champagne and she just started drinking it. is it Bruce's? who cares, not like he needs it now.

Clark: awkwardly standing with Dick, trying to talk Bruce down. keeps interjecting with midwestern-isms that aren't helping but nobody cares enough to tell him to shut up. deep down, very very interested in helping Bruce work through this.

Alfred: the one who actually went after Selina to give her a piece of his mind

okay, but if Tim is heavily parenting Bruce, then how does he treat everyone else??? Like, yeah, siblings, but does he also have moments where his need to parent shine through? Do they ever notice?

Tim has some wacky relationships with the Bats. He doesn't necessarily put labels on his relationships and tries not to let other people's relationships with each other affect his relationship with them too much. Here's how he would define them if he was pushed:

Alfred is both Tim's equal and an authority in his life. They both parent Bruce, but Alfred will tell Tim he isn't allowed to patrol when injured. He will tell Tim to go to bed and to knock it off with some actions. Tim is still a teenager and does make some stupid decisions (kids have a harder time with impulse control due to brain development). In return, Tim will ask Alfred to take breaks and help him when needed. Alfred has more power and respect, but they usually work together to help the household.

Tim does see Dick as an older brother and allows himself to be treated as a younger brother. Because Dick is independent from Bruce, this is easier.

Barbara is in a similar position to Alfred. Tim will defer to her judgment, but they work together to keep the Bats running. Tim does more of the emotional work, Alfred does more of the physical care work (cooking, cleaning, etc.), and Babs does more of the vigilante support. They will help the others in their areas, but they do the majority of their own fields.

Cass is Tim's sister. Tim kind of sees it like they have different dads and usually mentally blocks out that her dad is his son. Cass understands in a way Dick doesn't (cause Dick also doesn't know), so it's easier in other areas than it is for Dick.

Steph is Tim's platonic soul mate.

Jason was Bruce's son until after the BruceQuest. Because Jason attacked Tim, Tim refused to have a personal relationship with the man. He was his son's son, not Tim's brother or grandson. After Tim and Jason started getting along, he started to see him as his little shit of a grandson.

Damian was on a similar boat to Jason. After the BruceQuest, Tim started to see Damian as his nephew (or as Dick's son).

Duke is Tim's friend, but he's starting to see him as a brother as well.

Those would be the more rigid definitions Tim would assign if he gave them thought, but he typically let's the vibes be and allows the others to make decisions on how their relationship is defined.

But yes, he does accidentally slip into parenting them. I imagine, if the batkids found out how he truly feels about them, shit would hit the fan (so to speak).

Damian:…Sex? I know what sex is Grayson Mother gave me this with topic with a diagram and you and the alien are never quiet when I stay at the tower. So I do not see the need for such time constraints.

Jason is in the cave help Tim with his wound care when he notices a large scar on Tim.

Jason: Where’d you get this from Replacement, falling off the handlebars of your bike again?

Tim (Drowsy from medicine ): Oh that, no Ra took my spleen.

Jason:…..The fuck you just say Tim?

Oracle is in the ClockTower and is on Coms with Robin who’s patrolling the East end.

Robin: Oracle?

Oracle: Yes, Robin?

Robin:Father, had the talk with me earlier.

Oracle:And how’d that go?

Robin:I think Father needs to take a course on giving the talk he isn’t very good at it.

Oracle (Chuckling): Why do you think that?

Robin: He kept trying to explain anatomy but he didn’t understand women’s. He said I should ask a woman.

Oracle loosing it on the other line.

Robin:Is it that complex?

Oracle gaining her composure: Oh, kiddo you right your father needs help.

Robin: So will you explain—

Oracle: Absolutely not.

Duke:Is this safe?

Jason:Most likely not.

Duke:Should we tell someone?

Jason:Probably.

Duke:Are you going to?

Jason: Nope

Alfred in the next room: Whatever you two are about to do, save yourselves the trouble.

Kate: And how did you convince him to do it?

Stephanie & Dick: Bribes

Kate: Okay, so what exactly did you two bribe him with?

Dick(Smirking): That’s highly useful and top secret information.

Jason enters the room in a fuzzy red sweater and approaches Bruce who’s reading a book.

Bruce (Confused): Everything okay Jay?

Jason give Bruce a hug and quickly leaves the the room.

Stephanie (Sobbing): You got the tissues?

Dick hands her a box and dries his own tears.

Kate walking away: This family needs therapy.

Damian:……

Tim:Why are you staring at me?

Damian:………

Tim:Did I do something to you,or are you trying out to be one of the twins from the Shining?

Damian:I need you to take me and Jon to see a movie Saturday night.

Tim:You couldn’t have lead with that?!

Batman & Nightwing go Right

Barbara: No your other left.

Nightwing:That’s the right?

Barbara trying not to scream and rip her hair out.

Barbara: This Family Makes me want to murder people.

Batman: Are we in Pursuit of Riddler Now?

my take on the Reverse Robins au

damian - bruce met talia and trained with the LoA a few years before becoming Batman. a couple years into being Batman, talia leaves a 7-8 year old damian on bruce’s doorstep. he has to help damian unlearn years of violence and lets him become Batman’s sidekick as an outlet. not sure what his hero name would be yet tbh but i’ll probably just go with Batboy. he becomes a vigilante at 9 y/o

duke - he’s 10 when his parents are jokerized, and he runs away from foster care. he uses his powers to try and become a vigilante but he’s still ten and untrained. batman finds him losing control of his powers and helps him calm down (he works with the justice league, he knows how to deal with super-powered beings). bruce takes him in and while at first damian (14) is wary of being replaced, duke grows on him rather quickly. bruce takes him to the JL and barry & clark help him learn to control his powers. eventually, after being trained by bruce and learning to control his meta abilities, he becomes Signal (at around 13 y/o)

tim - once bruce wayne officially has two kids, the drakes ask him if tim can stay at Wayne Manor whenever they’re out of the country. the boys know each other from galas and get along well, so bruce agrees (he can also tell tim doesn’t have very many friends and is quite lonely). so tim ends up spending a lot of time at the Manor and ofc connects the dots of bruce and his kids disappearing whenever Batman and his partners appear. he basically just tells them he knows and asks if he can do anything to help. so they give him access to the Batcomputer and he directs them on missions and helps with cases. he starts staying at Wayne Manor when he’s about 10 (damian is 16 and duke is 12) and figures out their identities a year or so later. over comms he goes by ‘T’ and later ‘Rumor’. eventually his parents die in a plane crash and he (15) is officially adopted by bruce

steph - she starts out as Spoiler at 13 (damian is 19, duke is 15, tim is also 13). damian has become his own hero at this point: Leviathan. steph works with Signal the most but will work with Leviathan on occasion. damian is a reluctant older brother figure to her and pretends to find her annoying but is secretly very protective of her. she tended to avoid Batman until damian pestered bruce into reaching out and offering to train her which she happily accepted. when they reveal their identities to her she finally meets tim (who is usually just on comms with them) and befriends him immediately. they become besties and an unstoppable duo

cass - same origin of being raised a weapon and running away. she shows up in gotham one day and stays in hiding for a while before letting Batman see her and confront her. she ends up going home with him and the others just accept that they have a sister now. her and damian are the closest because they understand each other best, but tim is her favorite sibling. she is a few years younger than tim and steph. she is 14 when she arrives in gotham (tim and steph are 16, duke is 18, damian is 22). she goes by Orphan and later Black Bat

jason - same origin of stealing the batmobile’s tires at 12. he is three years younger than cass (15). damian (23) has been his own vigilante for years now so jason takes up the Batboy mantle (duke is 19, tim & steph are 17). he is killed by the joker at 15, and returns as Red Hood at 17

dick - same origin of parents death and bruce being at the circus. he is 9, jason is 13, cass is 16, tim & steph are 18, duke is 20, damian is 24. jason and cass are dick’s favorite siblings (and the only ones who still live in the manor). jason is Batboy, cass is Black Bat, tim is Rumor, steph is Spoiler, duke is Signal, and Damian is Leviathan. dick becomes Robin at 10

babs - dick’s friend from school, they’re on the mathlete team together. she is a year younger than him, but they are both very smart. has yet to get into the vigilante business but probably will eventually. knows dick is Robin. her and dick once hacked into the pentagon because they were bored. absolutely terrifying duo. they become friends in middle school- dick is 12, babs is 11

Continuing This Idea with sketches

Like to think the slugpup batkids have a few different abilities. Like Duke still having his light abilities, but something more similar to being a living flashbang especially at the tail. Jason able to fire projectiles from his tail, Barbara with a pattern similar to a vulture mask preventing most things from attacking from behind, etc. Also decided Harley will be a yellow lizard, and Damian might be half Scavenger. Yes this implies the League are a tribe of Scavengers. (I am open to more ideas)
