Quick Review: Pink Sugar [Season 1]

Pink Sugar by @dulceskull is one of the most queer and exciting comics I've read, period, no qualifiers. Very few comics have made me as excited about comics as a medium despite my work on multiple award winning series as Pink Sugar has. The comic is still in it's very early days so where it goes and how it grows, who knows but as it stands it's the comic that I see there is an update for and dart onto my phone to read.

Pink Sugar follows Blake, Rocko, Artemis and near the end of this volume Satya. We see what leads up to these four lesbians going on a road trip across the different realms of the afterlife. Everyone is a hot demon in the after life because I mean, duh, obviously, why wouldn't we be? This first season is all about establishing characters, giving you a good idea of who they are, what they want, how they think, what they can do. It's a simple opener that doesn't take it too fast but instead masterfully lingers on life in a way that is still engaging thanks to the masterful dynamics between the four and the killer art.

The story ahead of us promises to be polyamarous, gender diverse, lesbian fuckery in the best way possible. There is compelling interpersonal trauma, personal trauma, relationships, friendships, adventures, magic systems, afterlife systems, and so much more. I really don't want to say too much other than, go read it now, do it, it's fucking good and it's free. You can even read it here, on tumblr, where I like linked in the first paragraph or on webtoon where I mostly read it or on Tapas or comics fury. 10/10, a truly special story, something like this comes around only ever so rarely, please support it so we can see this story reach the end.

My local queer bookstore is being threatened with eviction over their free narcan and fentanyl test strips, free store for the unhoused, and free narcan trainings.

Bluestockings is an incredible worker-owned community space that has been apart of the Lower East Side for 25 years. But in the last couple years, they've faced increasing harassment from the wealthier neighbors moving in and complaining about the presence of unhoused people around their store front. Despite all their community work being allowed by their lease, the landlord is pushing for an eviction.

Please help support Bluestockings! Visit them (if you're local), order books online, donate! We need more queer and community-oriented spaces, not another overpriced coffee shop or chain franchise.

And that has served me well in my creative endeavors, as much as it has stymied me. But I really do think that I caught something special in my first novel, A DEMON'S NAME UPON YOUR LIPS. And thanks to how my brain works, I rarely ever promote it! Which seems unfair for how much effort I put in, alongside my friends who patiently helped me edit it.

It's a sapphic romance between a (newly minted) Duke and the demon she summons. It's a fantasy which takes place in a secondary world loosely based on Victorian-era Europe, though without any of the queerphobic, or even sexist, hatred endemic to its real-world counterpart (or even to our modern day). It's fast paced, gay as fuck, and I poured my heart and soul into it.

Queer artist in need!Jewelry has returned to our Ko-Fi store!

i am a disabled intersex trans lesbian who is in extremely unsafe housing at the moment. i had to take jewelry down off of our ko-fi due to issues with being able to reliably print labels, but we have resolved that issue! we are now uploading previous jewelry stock, as well as new additions!

every sale helps me get closer toward escaping my unsafe housing situation. i am currently living in a home where the gas is not turned on, the toilet is broken, the shower is broken, we currently have no ability to boil hot water to cook, have no microwave, or toaster. we are surviving with a space heater but it is November and it is getting very cold. i am not eating very much. every sale helps a lot, thank you for considering supporting me!

Specifically Nathan Northland and Vlad Blutstein. It's not just because they are both breath-stealingly attractive—although to be fair, that doesn't hurt. It's because they surprised her, and Ursula is very rarely surprised.

Even more confounding is her reaction to them, particularly the vampire, Vlad. Just what is she supposed to do about these... feelings?

All Ursula knows is that she doesn't have time for emotions right now. Not when the fate of the world is at stake. She can deal with this later. for the last day of lesbian visibility week, i wanted to share some updates of my queer regency webcomic, the masquerader! here's a character line-up with some costume designs of bella & prue.
