99th precint meeting Kevin & Holt adoptive child would include

synopsis: The squad already knew that Raymond Holt is a man of few words, but who would have thought that he had a child?

warnings: none. gender neutral. no race implied. no age implied. like jake and amy, everyone deserves to feel like Holt and Kevin's kid. all b99 detectives included. reader have Holt and Kevin's personality.

Dear 99th Precint, I proudly inform you that today will be my child's first day of work as a rookie cop in our precinct. Don't embarrass me. Sincerely, Raymond Holt.

• No one had ever heard Raymond talking about having a child. They never saw a photo of them on his house. Kevin never mentioned something. Or have them? No. No, they didn't.

• Even Gina was surprised. She was mean about it, of course, but she didn't knew anything.

• When Holt arrived, everyone was waiting for him on his office. Peralta tried to play cool before asking, but soon Terry was screaming about how could he have a child and didn't say anything to them.

Haymond answered without blinking an eye: "Peralta would make it weird." Everyone understood. "Hey!" Everyone except Peralta. "But why you don't have pictures with them on your house?" Amy asked. "Are you implying I would forget my child's face, Santiago?" Holt was clearly offended.

• You arrived apologizing for being three minutes and seven seconds late. Rosa widened her eyes, muttering about you being his copy. Holt smiled at that comment.

• Jake tried to act like a cool big brother but as soon as you opened your mouth he was fangirling over you. You made a mental note about calling him "bro" if you ever needed something from him or wanted to make him happy. Every single little thing you did was a reason for him to smile widely.

• Terry offered to show you the place, and told you everyone's name. He was all sweet and polite, acting like the dad of the squad. Well, he was. Terry made questions about your training and abillities. He was trying to show off, and it was working.

• Amy was affraid of saying something wrong. Amy danced when you said your father talked about her, and immediately regreted that. All her atempts of acting cool were imterrupted by Gina's jokes. She almost cried when you refered to her as your father's apprentice.

• Hitchcock and Scully thought you were already working with them. They didn't get what was happening. Holt was so glad when they went to took a nap.

• You and Rosa sat down and spent thirty minutes in absolute silence. It was the best experience of your entire life.

• Gina was waiting for you in the hallway of the bathroom. She asked if you wanna form a alliance with her. You obviously said yes, despite not knowing what she really meant by that.

• You were surprised for not meeting Boyle. On your lunch break, you realized why: he had rushed to prepare a meal for the two of you. He and Terry got into a fight about food while you were eating. It was exactly like your father told you. It was perfect.

• You have a nice feeling about working there.

Forgive the stupidity, but what is "The Willow Effect"? I'm guessing it's a reference or something? Thanks x

Oh it's not a real thing, it's just something I made up lol.

Basically, if you've ever seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer, there's a character named Willow who gets a boyfriend in Season 2 or 3 named Oz, who's played by Seth Green.

Not long after Oz leaves the show, Willow falls in love with a woman named Tara and from then on explicitly identifies as a lesbian (an argument can be made that she's actually bi, but most people accept that she's lesbian but either experienced comphet or a change in sexuality (fluidity). Pick whatever explanation you like. This was in like 2001 and the fight to make Willow gay was challenging enough that you can't expect a seamless result).

Now here's the thing: I actually really loved Seth Green's character Oz - he's one of my favorite parts of the show despite only appearing in a couple seasons. And I always loved his relationship with Willow. The two were sweet together, and he helped her grow a bit. But I also love Willow's uncloseted & unashamed lesbian existence in later seasons, and I fucking ADORE her relationship Tara aside from a few blatantly toxic behaviors that Willow had but this isn't the time or place for that.

How do I reconcile loving both lesbian!Willow and the Willow/Oz ship in the same canon? Easy, I just don't worry about it. To quote Amy Santiago from Brooklyn Nine-Nine: "I can love two things."

And this is what I call the Willow effect. My willingness to both fawn over a female character's relationship with a character played by Seth Green while also remaining adamant that this character is, in fact, a lesbian, and to be unbothered by the apparent contradiction.

Anyway, the only reason I made up this damn term in the first place is the sheer irony of this happening twice to Seth Green, the second being in Scooby-Doo with Velma. Do I believe all versions of Velma deserve to be lesbian? Absolutely. Do I find Velma and Patrick in SD2 to be cute together? Also yes. And because I've seen this before in BTVS, I'm comfortable accepting these two facts as simultaneously true.

“You’re really baby-sitting tomorrow?”

You sighed, clutching a small dagger in your hands which Leo said was called a ‘tantō’, leaning against the billboard sign and dangling your leg back and forth, seeing how huge they looked in comparison to the tiny cars passing below. “Yes. I don’t see how that’s outlandish.”

“Wait, where are you now?”

“I’m…” you said, turning your head behind you to see Leonardo, peering with binoculars pointing directly downwards, watching the door with utmost patience. “Getting ready for bed.”

“Right, I’m going to believe that. Yep, one-hundred percent. I just…” she paused, taking in a deep breath. “I cannot believe you’re leaving me all alone with Orange is the New Black…”

“¿Realmente Tina?," you said, hearing her groan with the sudden shift. "Estás siendo tan dramático en este momento…”

“¿De verdad? ¿Me estás hablando en español?”

You chuckled, which caused Leonardo to dart his head towards you while you gave him a thumbs up. “Vale, vale. Debo irme. Se está haciendo tarde.”

“Está bien. Buenas noches, el mejor amigo.”

“Buenas noches,” you said, hanging up the phone and approaching Leonardo.

“Who was that?”

“My friend, she was just asking where I was. I lied, of course.”

“Good, cause you swore to secrecy.” Leo chuckled, nudging your shoulder. You stared at him as he turned his head back towards the binoculars, and for a split second, you looked at him, softly smiling before darting your head back to the midnight sky. You felt how surreal the entire location felt with its illuminating lights and indigo sky. It was a moment of tranquillity and serenity, where you didn’t feel obligated to do anything. Midnights like this didn’t need to speak or act, midnights only had to listen and that’s what you liked about midnights. It offered you silent moments in a noisy, clamorous world.

“You were speaking Spanish back there, right?”

“Huh?” you said, knocking you out of your trance and back to the sounds of traffic and the wind flooding into your ears. “Oh yeah, we both take Spanish at school and we practise by speaking to each other. Do you speak any languages?”

“Oh, I speak Japanese. It’s quite hard to grasp at the start-”

“Ha, title of your sex tape.”

“W-What?” Leo asked as you slapped your hand across your mouth.

“Oh god, I’m so sorry! It’s just a reference to a TV show I watch, I didn’t actually mean it.”

“What TV show is it?” he asked, leaning slightly forward with wide eyes.

“It’s a show called Brooklyn Nine-Nine, it’s second season has been running for a while now and it’s really good. It’s by far my favourite TV show.”

“Wow, that sounds amazing! Space Heroes is my-”

He stopped speaking and darted his eyes downwards to the rooftop flooring.

“Hey, you alright?”

“Nevermind, it’s… silly and we need to focus on the mission.”

“True, but now, I’m curious about this Space Heroes show. Please tell me more, Leo.”

Leo turned towards you, inquisitive eyes, unfiltered curiosity and completely enchanted. He sighed out, his eyes falling downturned.

“Promise you won’t tell anybody?”

You dragged your finger across your heart, cutting two lines deep. “Forever and always.”

“It’s this sci-fi show from the 80’s that follows this crew led by Captain Ryan; he’s in charge of this space crew on the Dauntless and they explore the galaxy fighting evil. There’s also Dr. Mindstrong, who’s an alien scientist and Crankshaw, who’s an ensign to Captain Ryan. It is the best show in the world.”

“Nice, what’s your favourite part of the show?”

“W-What’s not to love about it? It’s an amazing show with excellent writing and Captain Ryan is a great hero. He always does what's best for his team and - ooh! There was one episode with these creatures called the Cortexicons which took over Dr. Mindstrong's mind! Definitely a winning episode!”

“Alright, I’ll give it a watch.” you answered, grinning as wide as the eagle could see.

A crash sends both of you looking downwards, spotting glass scattered across the sidewalk. Giving a brief nod, you both jumped from the rooftop onto the ground, turning around to face the shop. Leo kicked down the door, revealing a group of men holding Mr Murakami to the ground. The mere sight caused you to fume.

“Stop right there, criminal scum!”

“Criminal…scum? That’s a way to start things, Blue.” you chuckled, gripping your tantō as one of them let go of Mr Murakami and charged straight for you. Wood scraped against your skin as you barely dodged his attack, causing him to slam into a wall. The rapid thumping of your heart pumping adrenaline through your veins echoed in your mind. You turned to your left, spotting another thug rushing towards you, his fists ready for a massacre. He attempted to yank you, resulting in you rolling away and slashing a cut into his ankles; his screams muffled in your ears.

Your eyes drifted to your right, where you saw Leo wielding two katanas, punching one thug in his side and sweeping his legs, making him land with a harsh thud. As you watched him fend off the attackers, you heard the soft noises of scratching tiles from above. Your eyes zoomed upwards, spotting the sight of amber eyes aimed right for you.

Your breathing became hitched, flowing in and out sporadically. It was a brief moment where both of your eyes connected for a split second before the figure jumped down, tackling you to the ground.

“Ow, Blue!-” you yelped before your mouth was covered by a rag. It tasted slightly sweet as you struggled underneath the figure’s strong grip, writhing and squirming as the realisation hit you like a semi-truck. This was chloroform, and if you were counting correctly, you only had four minutes or so before you slumped into unconsciousness.

Your eyes drifted upwards towards the unknown figure only for the glimpse to cause you to clench your fists and your eyes to widen in shock. You froze, staring at her with anger before she punched you in the nose, ringing echoed in your ears. The feeling of unconsciousness slowly grew, consuming you until you were only left with your thoughts.

You knew your attacker. You knew her quite well.

It was your ex.

Tim: Oh, so nothing serious!

Dick: *grabs Tim* I will skin your body, Timmy!

Tim: You are obsessed with that show! That isn’t even a super memorable reference!

Barbara: I don’t think that was supposed to be reference.

Dick: It was unintentional, but I am devastated and I will hurt you. My mornings are fucking ruined!!!!!

Jason: You realize that the show is also on Peacock, right?

Dick: *looks at Jason* That’s an additional streaming service Jason!!! I can’t afford that!!!

Tim: *pulls up his phone* Yes you can, it’s pretty cheap. There’s a free option that’s shit, premium which is okay, and premium plus that is just premium without ads.

Dick: *looks at Tim* Are we in a fucking ad?

Tim: No, just saying you’re making a big deal over nothing. Like always!

Dick: *throws Tim across the room* No! You’re making a big deal over nothing! My mornings are fucking ruined! This is more devastating than any break up I’ve ever been through!!!!

Barbara: I don’t know if I should be offended or relieved right now.

Bruce: Just use my account Dick.

Dick: YES!!!! Thank you Brucie!!!

In case it isn’t clear, this is just a self insert. Unlike Dick, I do not have the money to afford Peacock as a streaming service or someone else’s account that I can use so my mornings are now officially ruined because I enjoy an episode every morning as it makes me laugh and also kinda prepares me for working with a bunch of little kids because of how silly the show is. I am also willing to bet that once this show leaves Hulu in 7 days it might actually hurt more than the break up that I just went through and I’m still trying to get over. I’m mainly posting this on here just because I needed to get this out of my system but I do hope that some of you do enjoy this! Looking this over it kinda looks like a “send me money thing” but it’s not, just a tiny rant.

BUT YES!! I ADORE BROOKLYN 99 WITH ALL MY HEART. It’s probably my favorite sitcom because the whole cast is SO lovable. From the comedic moments to all the the wholesome, rivalry, romantic, familial, and camaraderie moments are so so fulfilling and enjoyable to watch. jUst AHHH definitely a comfort show of mine that needs a rewatch. But yes!! I love them so much. NINE NINE!!

Let's be real, if someone were to run and leap at Kirishima and he was holding coffee or some other beverage, he wouldn't even complain, he'd just wordlessly drop what he's holding to catch the person, no questions asked. As long as it doesn't happen too often anyway, then he might scold the person about making him make messes.

My brain is only how luisa would react to my clingy cry baby self as her boyfriend so...

LUISA MADRIGAL WITH A CLINGY PARTNER (who's secretly a big baby)

She probably doesn't understand clinginess at first ngl

It makes her a little uncomfortable how close her partner is all the time

The physical contact, holding hands, surprise hugs, asking to be picked up. It gets a little overwhelming

That's not the say she doesn't like physical contact.

She LOVES physical contact especially hugs

She just feels as if everything should have moderation.

And she's not silent in her displeasure at all. She wants to be able to have comprehensive adult conversations. Like talking about feelings.

"I find it a little uncomfortable that you always want to be touching not because I don't enjoy touching you but because I don't understand it. But I would like to understand If you're okay to explain."

And when it is explained to her that she makes you feel safe and warm. She's A lot more accepting of it all.

And she tries a little harder to make sure you're comfortable especially when you're upset or crying.

"oh no why are you crying, mi mundo?"

"I fell and got hurt."

And cue Luisa looking over you for scratches and bruises with a worried frown because bitch you're her WORLD 😡

Sometimes she rolls her eyes at them a lot like her ma does to her pa.

So many kisses! Face kisses. Palm kisses. Tummy kisses (when you're cuddling).

"can i have a kiss please"

"of course"

*melts*

And hand holding when you're walking long distances.

After working a lot through the day she finds being domestic with you very relaxing.

It confuses people mainly Isabela why she would want to work all day and then come home to "coddle" her partner.

But she doesn't really feel the need to explain. She just shrugs when anyone asks.

Just fixing flying strands of hair as soom as she lays eyes on you "hola mi mundo. How was your day?"

Really likes joining in on naps when she can.

Affectionately refers to you as "crybaby."

Or any Spanish variant of the word baby, bebé ,nene, llorón, etc

She will catch you.

No matter what she's doing.

She gets excited when she sees you while doing chores. She'll literally light up and catch you while holding a fucking bridge in one hand.

She loves if you love cutesy things. She will sit and talk to you about bunnies, rainbows and Unicorns and honestly idek who is more excited.

You know those little kids who call their parents names and then don't say anything? Don't do that. That makes her eye twitch in irritation.

"Luisa!"

"Yes?"

"Lulu!"

"Hm?"

"Luuuu"
