I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I kind of want to take my Christmas tree down (we tend to leave it up until end of January) so I have more room in the living room to do more vigorous exercise.
I haven’t been able to do more than basic PT maneuvers for years; I haven’t had the energy for it. But I kind of want to get my exercise bike out and do some light cardio while I watch Netflix.
I don’t even know who I am anymore without the daily migraines. Who am I????

Day 3 of 5 day workout week:
Late blog post! Hump Day was thoroughly dominated. 💪🏽 I felt strong and accomplished after this one!
-I ran through a 55 minute weight-training and cardio HIIT routine (heavy n the weight training). My range was 5-15 lbs for compound and static exercises. I did metabolic strength moves and mixed impact moves for the cardio.
-I then tacked on another 10 minutes of weighted leg work on the mat! Plus a deep stretch.
Total calorie burn = 412 kcals 💪🏽
Hump Day has been thumped! Now…On to Draft Day in the D!! 🙌🏽

A good, active (bulletproof fuelled) morning.
Just a short four mile walk between my two morning workouts.
Lovely fresh autumn morning. I prefer summer, lol, but I have to appreciate the beauty of this season.
Plus getting out in the fresh air is always a big mood and energy booster no matter what time of year.
Then after getting home, it was time for a good old fashioned cardio blast before lunch.

I just read this article and I couldn't calm down out of joy. We all know what's going to happen to John in the upcoming books, but it seems David is (finally) stepping up to the main ranks and getting the scenes he deserves. And it's going to be great!!!
„One of the great confluences of these rivers in season seven is the love triangle of Claire, Jamie and Lord John Grey (David Berry). Both Claire and John love Jamie "desperately and passionately," Roberts says. "There are so many layers and dynamics between these three people, and this season it'll definitely come to a head. I think a lot of people will fall in love with John again."
For her part, Davis says, "I cannot wait for everyone to see David Berry's performance in season seven. He's outstanding. He just kills it in this role, especially this season. He's really stepped it up."
Perhaps his performance this season will help seal the deal on the long-gestating idea of a Lord John spinoff. "Just speaking for myself, I think the Lord John series is a no-brainer," Davis says. "I would love to see that series. The books are great, and he's such an interesting character."
OMG! ❤️

LOVE your blog! 🥰
Thank you so much for sending this, anon! <3
Here's a direct link to the article for anyone who wants to read it: https://www.emmys.com/news/features/onward-outlander
I apparently had many thoughts on the subject, so the rest is under the cut. :D
I have to begin with: hell yes people are going to fall in love with John! The character is so interesting, and although I find it a bit tedious that we often sometimes only get to see him as this lovesick dude who conveniently shows up to solve Jamie’s problems, I think the show actually does a decent job of portraying him. Because he’s the character you want to know more about. In a show where you have so many characters, he is the one that kind of feels like a main character even though he isn’t one. He feels nuanced and you get a sense of him actually living his life in between making appearances in the show. And that’s something I don’t necessarily get with a lot of the other characters. (Okay, I may be super biased but still!)
Introducing him more firmly into the main story through a love triangle is a good way of at least getting more LJG in our lives. I hope they change the story a bit and tone down homophobic-punches-John-in-the-face Jamie, and I think they will, since they’ve done a great job in making Jamie less conservative in other aspects, too. With regards to what happens later with John, I wonder how much they plan to include in the show. But whatever they do, I hope they don’t run through a million things in a half-assed way and then just go “anyway, that situation resolved itself, don’t worry about it.” But we’ll see.
In any case, it makes me so happy to know that there is support for an LJG spinoff! It’s so true that there is good material to draw from if they were to make it, and I think it would be really great to get a historical show that had an LGBTQ+ main character. But simultaneously, I have to admit that my expectation for such a show would be sky-high, and I would probably throw a tantrum at the smallest historical inaccuracy. (So they’d better do their research unlike DG…) I know it’s historical fiction, but it can be accurate and entertaining. (Fun take, I know) My expectations would anyway be really high because David Berry deserves the world, and that includes flawlessly written shows where he is the main character.
And speaking of David. Oh my god, anon, when I read the words “I cannot wait for everyone to see David Berry's performance in season seven. He's outstanding. He just kills it in this role, especially this season. He's really stepped it up.” my heart skipped a beat. Like I don’t have praise kink, I have a ‘praise David Berry’ kink. I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful it is to read those words. He deserves it so much. I don’t even know what to say… I just… I don’t even know. Like he doesn’t seem like the most confident person in the world, so it makes me so indescribably happy to read about people explicitly saying that he’s amazing. And also the fact that there is talk of a spinoff shows that there is sooo much love not just for Lord John but for David as well. He is the perfect LJG. My heart is so full, anon! So full! And I absolutely get why you can’t calm down out of joy, because hard same!!!

What are some easy and effective exercises for weight loss?
Tumblr media
1. Cardio
Cardio is obviously the first exercise for weight loss and is great if you’re not currently doing any kind of cardio already. There are many different types of cardio, including walking, running, swimming, cycling, and others. If you want to lose weight, make sure you keep your heart rate going at about 70 percent of your maximum heart rate. When you do cardio, try to go for 30 minutes at a time three times per week and cut down on high calorie foods throughout the day.
2. Strength Training
Strength training is one of the best ways to burn fat and build muscle mass while working out. While we often think of lifting weights as being only for men, women benefit just as much from lifting weights as they do men. Women should lift heavier than men, and aim for anywhere between 8 and 12 repetitions per set. You don’t have to lift heavy weights either; using bodyweight is fine. You can start off with simple pushups and planks, then move onto squats and lunges. You can even use dumbbells or kettle bells if you prefer. All these exercises should be done two or three times per week.
3. Plyometric Push-Ups
Plyometrics is an awesome way to get leaner fast. These workouts work your entire upper body and lower body simultaneously, meaning you’re able to target specific muscles and get results faster. Start with five sets of 10 reps each. Do these two or three times per month.
4. Full Body Jumping Rope Workout
Jumping rope burns calories and builds stamina. Try jumping rope twice a week with a total minimum of 20 minutes of jumping. Use the technique where you skip rope in front of your feet and jump over both ropes. Make sure to hold yourself steady and perform jumps of 30 seconds or longer.
5. Yoga
Yoga is great for building flexibility, strength, balance, and endurance. If you really want to increase your strength, yoga is the perfect workout. To add variety to your routine, focus on strengthening your core while performing yoga poses. Practicing yoga can help you become stronger, healthier, and more flexible.

Beautiful sunny walk with Maggie this morning! She was so happy today. She played with another collie she likes and we saw a rainbow and she had a lovely run around the fields and it made me so so happy 🥰🥰
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Went for my massage... first one I've had and I'd love to make it a semi regular thing, even once a month. The lady was so lovely but I felt awful that I found it really hard to relax my muscles while she was just about beating the shit out of me 😂 it did feel good though. She gave me some hot stones which was lovely 😍 and she managed to crack my back and neck quite a lot and I do think it all feels a bit better. But I need to go back and learn to physically relax so I get more benefits from it. But for my first one it was pretty good.
Had lunch, did some housework and laundry and then got on the bike as I didn't think it would be wise to try to run on a dodgy back and also v intense period pains. So I cycled through them instead. It felt good although my legs are already so tired so god knows how sore they'll be tomorrow 😭 @thisgingersnapped50 tagged me to flex! I feel somewhat strong today!

Stretched, chilled out reading my book and made baked sweet potatoes with lentil dahl for dinner. Turned out pretty good but I forgot to take photos of course 😅
Early night tonight, back to work tomorrow 😭😭

Understanding Body Types: Ectomorph, Mesomorph, and Endomorph
Tumblr media
When it comes to fitness and achieving your health goals, understanding your body type can be a game-changer. We all have different genetic predispositions that influence how our bodies respond to exercise and nutrition. The concept of body types, often categorized as ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph, can help you tailor your fitness and diet strategies for more effective results. In this article, we'll delve into each of these body types, helping you better understand your own and how to optimize your fitness journey accordingly.
Ectomorph: The Lean Machine
Ectomorphs are typically characterized by a lean and slender physique. They often have a high metabolism, which means they burn calories quickly. Key features of ectomorphs include:
Narrow shoulders and hips: Ectomorphs tend to have a more linear body shape.
Fast metabolism: They may find it challenging to gain weight or muscle.
Lean muscle mass: Ectomorphs often have difficulty building muscle mass.
Fitness and Nutrition Tips for Ectomorphs:
Focus on strength training: Ectomorphs should prioritize resistance training to build lean muscle mass.
Increase calorie intake: To gain weight and muscle, ectomorphs should consume a surplus of calories, emphasizing quality nutrition.
Frequent, smaller meals: Eating smaller, more frequent meals can help maintain energy levels and support muscle growth.
Mesomorph: The Athletic Build
Mesomorphs are known for their athletic and well-proportioned bodies. They typically have an easier time both gaining muscle and losing fat. Key features of mesomorphs include:
Naturally muscular: Mesomorphs have an easier time building and maintaining muscle.
Broad shoulders and a narrow waist: They often have an hourglass or V-shaped body.
Efficient metabolism: Their bodies tend to respond well to both muscle gain and fat loss efforts.
Fitness and Nutrition Tips for Mesomorphs:
Variety in workouts: Mesomorphs can excel in a range of fitness activities, so they should incorporate both cardio and resistance training for overall health.
Balanced diet: Focus on a balanced diet with lean protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats to support muscle growth and recovery.
Stay active: Regular exercise is crucial to maintaining their physique.
Endomorph: The Natural Curves
Endomorphs typically have a rounder and softer body shape. They have a slower metabolism and are more prone to weight gain. Key features of endomorphs include:
Rounder physique: Endomorphs often carry weight in the form of curves.
Slower metabolism: They may find it challenging to lose weight or body fat.
Greater potential for muscle mass: Endomorphs can build muscle but should be mindful of body fat levels.
Fitness and Nutrition Tips for Endomorphs:
Embrace cardiovascular exercise: Endomorphs can benefit from regular cardio to manage weight and maintain cardiovascular health.
Portion control: Pay attention to portion sizes and calorie intake to avoid excess weight gain.
Strength training: Incorporate strength training to build muscle and boost metabolism.
Conclusion:
Understanding your body type is a valuable step toward reaching your fitness and health goals. While these categories can provide guidance, it's important to remember that everyone is unique, and a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work in fitness and nutrition. Tailoring your strategy based on your body type is just one piece of the puzzle. Consult with fitness professionals and nutritionists to create a personalized plan that aligns with your goals and works best for you. Remember that consistent effort, a healthy lifestyle, and patience are key components of any successful fitness journey, regardless of your body type.
