I'm considering thinking through tasks and determining which cause damage and which cause healing.

For example, if I'm wearing jeans and such, I don't really mind going weeks without shaving my legs. Not shaving at least once a week does cause a bit of damage, but it is so extremely minor that I only really notice when I'm low on HP. Shaving, though, does heal me up a bit. When I shave, I feel a bit more in control and competent. I also really love the feeling of my legs brushing against each other and I like the look, too.

Dishes cause damage. I take damage when my dishes are not done and I take damage when I do dishes. I have some equipment that minimizes the damage taken by doing dishes (e.g., gloves, dish wand, podcast), but it still isn't a neutral task. Completing dishes ends the damage taken from having unwashed dishes, but does not confer any healing.

Laundry is mostly a neutral task. I don't get damage or healing from doing or not doing it. That said, large laundry piles do cause damage. So, if I go too long without doing laundry, it can start chipping away at my HP.

Sweeping is similar. I dislike sweeping so it does cause a bit of damage of to do, but not a lot. Large dust and hair bunnies, though, cause damage.

Reading fanfic is mostly neutral. If I read a very good fic, it can cause a bit of healing, though not a lot. But, if I read for too long, it can cause damage for lack of sleep or eating up time needed to complete another task. Mostly, fanfic fills time that could be used for healing or damaging tasks. It helps me avoid damage, but it also means I'm avoiding healing and I'm allowing the time-delayed damage causers (e.g., laundry) to pile up.

I need to start figuring out what are other tasks that confer healing.

Extremely dangerous how "grooming" in the context of child sexual abuse went from being a very specific pattern of isolation and trust-building with the aim of abusing someone to "telling children anything that contradicts their parents' ultra-conservative worldview is grooming" to "selling rainbow flags in a store is grooming" to "literally anyone I don't like is a groomer".

These days the word seems to most often be used by people who don't care about what it actually means and just want an easy "this person is irredeemably evil, kill them now" button.
