Graphic Design is ?

Graphic design is a great many things. The cat's whiskers, some contend. A waste of time, some argue. It is what it is, the philosophically-minded suggest, unhelpfully. It is, for many, their passion. For others, it is their burden. Then there are those for whom it is both.

We may never know what graphic design truly is. But that will not stop some of Tumblr's sharpest minds from wrestling with this question, a question as old as time immemorial.

I redesigned Tala (Yuriy) yet again for the Fantasy AU.

I think I'm finally happy with this design. The last couple of designs just fell short for me.

From left to right; Without his coat, with his coat, his armor when with Balkov's army, and him with his High Captain's mask.

A High Captain's mask is supposed to resemble their Spirit, so Tala's looks like Wolborg.

I'll do the designs with colour at some point.

So the major project I spent the last several months working on has been announced! RAGNABORG (a Ragnarök-themed ttrpg using the Mörk Borg system) debuts next weekend at GameholeCon. Which means I can start sharing stuff!

"Graphic design, art, & editing" yeah it was a LOT 😂 so much work on this thing. But I'm pretty pleased how it turned out.

What's that you say? Consistency in style? Never heard of her 😂 Thor was don't for the cover art, so he's intentionally a more detailed style leaning hard on my fine art roots. Loki & Heimdall got to be a little more chill.

Mjolnir was actually one of the first pieces I did for the game. Definitely an exercise in patience.

Loki's monstrous children were so much fun. I wanted Fenrir to feel as though he was emerging from the darkness. Low detail, high drama.

Jörmungandr is actually based off a stock image I'd purchased for another project and ended up not using. But I loved it so much I dragged it back out for this, reworked & recolored it. I went through about 4 versions before settling on this one.

topaz! finally! i have long been needing a chosen character who’s....less of an extreme case than ezekiel. on like any front.

initially chosen for her interest in sussing out what’s been going on with the long-dead keeper midgaard and the bizarre crew that now pilot its bones, topaz first went to bug college to get more acquainted with things like keeper customs and operations, and practical+theoretical applications of accord before accepting her powers and undertaking her mission. she currently works closely with the keepers to assist them as a researcher, and has informally become something of their emissary. her power specializations include telepathy and data transmission/internet brain.

...I was usually too lazy to draw in his wings in a lot of sketches, but he has pretty standard dragon wings. It took him awhile to learn how to use them, but he's got the hang of it now!
