I feel like Venture has moved beyond comfort character status and has straight up become a coping character for me at this point. Like, no, they don't just provide me comfort... I straight up want to recover because of this character

Men and masculinity are not inherently bad or untrustworthy things and I don't mean that in a 'misandry is real and a problem' way, I mean that in a 'I think some of you might have contracted minor radfem poisoning' way

(voice of a man slowly losing his mind) does it ever strike you that the plot of aftg is moved by little acts of kindness kevin offered to people who never had any semblance of it before. loving riko when no one would, befriending jean in the nest and keeping him alive through debilitating amounts of trauma, telling andrew he was worth it in a dingy high school locker room, teaching neil every night even if he knew he was about to die

The world is cruel and unfair.
But that doesn't mean that you have to be as well.
You have the ability to be better than that.
That's what makes people great.
Bad people just wanna make their bad day everyone else's problems.
I've been cyberbullied, doxxed, and stabbed in the back more times than I can count.
Its not going to stop me from being a good person and helping others.
Because if I stoop to the same level as those people?
They would win, because it would make me just as awful as them, thus making them feel validated in their horribleness.
So remember that when you get up each morning...the strength you have to be better than what the world throws at you.
I think that's why shows like RWBY mean so much to me.

It takes place in a cruel world with cruel people, and yet so many of the characters in the show try to do good, despite how difficult that can be.

It also says a lot about the haters and their mindset.
If they can force you give into negativity and hate?
They win like the villains because they want to be proven right about justifying their actions and behavior, or their views.
So long as you can find the strength to be good, in a world that tries to force you to stoop to the level of the bad people who try to use the cruelty of the world to justify their bad behavior?
Good WILL Prevail.

I know the whole thing with eren growing his hair out was because he just didn’t care anymore but I like to think it’s because his mom always told him his ears turn red when he lies and he was about to spend the rest of his life lying to everyone he loved 🥹

I'm sure there is something really intelligent and so very witty to say about this album. It's so meaty, and so stunning, and you can sink your teeth into each song and be so rewarded for the second, third, tenth, millionth listen. But the one thought that I'm struck by right now is just this joy, this absolute pleasure at seeing Hozier's maturation and evolution as an artist, at witnessting him step into his talent and claim his little niche of the world with confidence. There's so much stark clarity about this album that leaves me in awe, simply glad that the man who said "we tried the world, good god, it wasn't for us" is allowing himself to be a part of the world, and in turn letting us into his own little corner of it. What a gift. What an honor

Do you get the impression the live action is treating us like utter morons?? Like I thought that making it aimed at an older audience would open the doors for more subtle story telling, but no, they're just using monologues to tell us eveything! Like in the second episode Katara's like 'oh his power isn't that he's the avatar, it's that he ~connects~ to people'. Girl we're not idiots we can see that!! And the first episode with Aang's goddawful 'I don't want this responsibility' monologue
THIS, YES. The word that keeps coming to mind is definitely "subtlety". The show for literal children? Had it. The remake for adults? Not so much.

marta svetek -- voice of gregory, vanny, roxanne wolf in fnaf: sb and its dlc, ruin -- has joined kellen goff in voicing her thoughts on ai reproductions of her voice. again: if you want voice actors to maintain a living wage (and their own mental health), please respect her wishes and ensure that this kind of behaviour is heavily discouraged in the future.
full text of thread below the cut for brevity:
Been getting tagged in all kinds of posts and popular TikToks of people using AI voice clones of my FNAF characters to have them sing or say all kinds of random stuff.
You might think it's fun.
But really it's contributing to the problem all VAs are facing in the wake of AI.
The more these AI voice clones get used, the more they're normalized, and the more businesses see it as a viable alternative to real VAs when making content for you. Slowly but surely, most of your favourite VAs will be out of work.
Not to mention what this will cost in terms of future generations of VAs. Incredible performances we'll never get to experience because most businesses will more often than not go for the cheapest, quickest option as soon as the technology is up to scratch.
This is made even worse by the fact that we currently have very few legal protections against the unauthorized use of our voices using AI. And we're being pressured to waive those too, for a fraction of their worth. This is one of the big reasons the current strikes are a thing.
If you enjoyed my work in FNAF and have any respect for the amount of time and effort VAs put into bringing characters to life, don't use AI voice clones in your fanart. I can't express how violated I feel every time I hear my voice say words that aren't my own.
And just in case it wasn't clear - I have never consented to having my voice, likeness or any of my performances synthesized into AI voices/avatars etc.
