Stranger Things (Season 4: Part 1)

Six months after the destruction of Hawkins Mall, a series of supernatural murders is stirring up hysterical in Hawkins, as a new superpower from the Upside Down becomes stronger.

To be honest with you, I should not be surprised with how this new season of Stranger Things turned out, but I still am. I was hoping that this new season, the Duffer Brothers would actually change up the story this season, but they didn't. The Duffer Brothers have shown me they are creatively inept when it comes to crafting a story. Yes, they write some fantastic characters, great worldbuilding, and some good horror, but it does not change the fact that they have been telling the same exact story on repeat for the past 4 seasons. Like so many other television series that go long past their expiration date, it has become void of its former self. Stranger Things has lost its mystery and suspense, due to the creator's lack of original storytelling. Furthermore, this season is filled with even more filler than the previous seasons. The Soviet escape was an annoying side quest and I still believe Hopper should have stayed dead. The high school drama at the beginning of the season was boring and cliched.

The acting in this season also felt off to me. A lot of characters got pushed to the side this season. Sadly this included Finn Wolfhard, Charlie Heaton, Winona Ryder, and Noah Schnapp, who were all pushed away. Millie Bobby Brown acting this season just didn't click with me. It felt like the entire season she had the same look on her face. However, a big surprise for acting this season was from Sadie Sink, who I believe gives the best performance this season. The remaining cast members give equal performances to their previous seasons.

One thing I am glad about is that this season did not rely on 80s nostalgia to cover up their repetitive storytelling. However, that meant a new cover was needed for the inept story and they chose horror. I will say this, they did a great job with the horror elements even though they are a cover for the bad story. The visuals are a mixed bag. Some CGI looks really good, others look really questionable. The cinematography is overall, very well done. The accompanying score and soundtrack were also great this season. However, it does not change the fact that this series has been telling the same story on repeat for the past 4 seasons. As of this point, it is unacceptable to me.

I am giving, Stranger Things (Season 4: Part 1), a C-.

Miyamoto usagi is a character from the Comic book series Usagi Yojimbo by Stan Sakai! He's been in crosovers with other tmnt iterations like the 2003 and 2012 cartoons as far as I'm aware. Leosagi origionated with 2003 Leo and Miyamoto since they were similar in age and people enjoyed their interactions, although not so much 2012 because Miyamoto is depicted as an adult in the show and much older than the 12 turtles who are all teens. There's a show called samurai rabbit on netflix which follows Yuichi Usagi who's a decendant of Miyamoto Usagi and he's the one you'll typically see pared with Rise Leo since their similar in age and we never got a rottmnt and usagi crossover. As well as people thinking they would have an interesting dynamic. Sometimes you'll see Leo with an aged down version of Miyamoto but it's usually Yuichi he's shipped with.

I think it would be interesting if you took the plot to Alexa & Katie and replaced the cancer with depression. Like, you wouldn’t even have to change much of the dialogue but just keep all the heart to hearts and speeches the same. The same level of love and understanding for the struggle that one goes through with depression the same as someone with cancer. Just a thought.
