So I rewatched Across the spider verse ( again) but my mom was watching it with me. When Hobie showed up I made sure she was paying attention because I love him🕴️.

But she was actually interested??, she kept asking if he was Jamaican (we are Jamaican btw), and that's like a huge compliment coming from my mom😭.

She realllyyy liked him which is... odd. She's kinda conservative and doesn't like the whole punk rock thing ( normally) but she didn't mind Hobie at alll😧.

That scene where he said I don't follow orders and neither does he, and he threw his arm around mile's shoulder she laughed and was like " *lip smack* that was so Jamaican".

"Me n him woulda par enuh" which basically means she thinks they'd get along.

I asked if she would allow me to date a guy like that (she's conservative remember) and she was like "hm yeah once he doesn't make you smoke, and you get married eventually" crazy.

She insists that he has some Jamaican ancestry.

Bonus: Mom - "him mawga like a stringbean tho". My sister - " yeah he is, but she said she likes when they look like they're dying" PLS😭

So yeah it's canon now that Hobie Brown is Jamaican or from a Caribbean country, because my mom said so.

I saw an interesting post a while back that said “Capcom made us [Miles and Diego/Godot] only have like two(?) interactions because they knew we would be unstoppable with a brother dynamic” and tbh it stuck with me bc it was intriguing.

So yeah that potential brotherhood, but that Godot/Diego AU I made (that I still need a name for)

Also I bet Gregory Edgeworth would have smelled like a bit like coffee, and so Diego just reminds Miles of that comforting presence 😭 (the von Karma estate was a tea household, so he didn’t smell much coffee after DL-6 and didn’t realize how much he missed it/reminded him of his father)

I've been thinking of a little 'what if' thing where, yes, Desmond looks like his male ancestors, but he has the facial expression of his female ones down pat.

Altair is over working himself when he hears a twin clearing of throats, and he looks up to see both Maria and Desmond with the same exact look of 'I'm not mad, just disappointed' and he begrudgingly puts everything away under their watchful eyes.

Ezio does something stupid and risky, and he has to do a double take when the look on Desmond's face is a carbon copy of Maria's patented 'are you fucking serious, you idiot?' look she would give Ezio and Federico whenever they would get in trouble.

Connor does something to make Desmond smile, and his breath gets caught because that little mouth twitch, the scrunching of his nose, the gleam in his eyes, those are all his mother and just seeing that ghost of her breaks his heart just a little bit so he looks away.

Just Desmond being just as much of a descendant to his other ancestors.
