Little me

I sat down with my younger self

She is beautiful, a picture left in ruins

Destroyed to ashes, falling as petals

They circle her like vultures

Hungry for the next disappointment

And nothing but emptiness and despair follows her.

Her tears, stains road maps onto her skin

An empty shell left to the wind

Hollow within, I searched for her heart

It use to be there within her skin

A brilliant like bird fluttering within

It doesn't fly anymore

And the singing seize to exist.

She still smiles at me, relief is clearly seen

But she doesn't know that I am her and she is me

She only wants to be healed,

Her pain is a halo, surrounding the scene

A darkness never before seen.

She just wants to be heard and seen, to heal and be free

I wish I could be those things for her

A bright shining light to comfort her pain

To show her that she has everything to gain

But my mind only want to play games

healing is that far away

And my younger self is once again put away

I was never ready for her tears or pain

But I will try again another day.

I recently attended a friend's workshop on soul retrieval and did some journeying with Loki for Him to put what I learned into practice. Of course, the final step of soul retrieval is attaching the piece back to the whole, and my friend taught us that sewing is typically what that looks like; like stitches for an open wound. But when I went to start sewing with needle and thread, something felt off. I felt like I should be gently rubbing over the place where the piece was reattached. I was contemplating this again this morning and realized it could mean that perhaps, for me doing this work, I rub in a healing salve and use those steri-strip bandages as sutures. I got a "bingo" but felt weird about it. Like clearly stitches are the Thing to do here, but Loki said, "Modern problems need modern solutions." So we use modern medicine in soul healing now 🤣
