The long awaited trailer to Kilonova is here! I've been working on this project since fall of last year, and with a team of 20 other students we've brought it to life!

I did the creature designs for two of the enemies, Stellupi and Eversor, created all the rigs, did some proxy models and modeled the collars and stars inside them. I was also the lead animator and did many of the creature animations, especially the ones shown here in the trailer! I also provided the sounds for the stellupi which you can hear a little of in the trailer.

This past semester I stepped into the role of art director and I'm absolutely ecstatic about what our team managed to put together. Kilonova will be coming to Steam sometime next year, and I couldn't be more proud to have been part of this project.

We won the University of Alberta’s student award for Outstanding Game Mechanics 2023, and I’m pretty proud of how it turned out for a game made by seven amateurs over the span of twelve weeks. Some more game animations! I added a combo ender attack- this is my favorite one in the game because it feels awesome when your punch pushes the enemy back. I revised the run for the grunt and normal enemy, and revised the death animation. The first combo ender and light attack got revised (god they’ll look better when she gets fists) and finally the grunt dying- now with texture!

Okay, look, I've been in college for two years and my Biology professor has pretty significantly rooted this educational science game called Labster into her course.

I was not expecting to be playing Portal all day for school.

Yeah, this is a full, 360 sci-fi free roam lab environment that you can pretty much do whatever you want in. You know those cruddy flash game experiments you used to do in middle school? Those are a thing of the past.

And check this: the entire lab is being run by this super cool AI droid named Dr. One

She floats around and directs you around the lab depending on the lesson you're taking and sounds eerily similar to GLaDOS. It turns out that Dr. One also has a lore page and that she was created originally for "unethical purposes."

Also, this environment is extremely detailed and even runs shaders and ambient occlusion in your web browser.

That's pretty nuts, considering the only time we ever see these things are built into genuine video games, not a web browser lab. It runs incredibly smoothly on my GTX 1050.

This is insanely impressive and I actually enjoyed my homework today. 10/10, would play this in my free time.
