How the AU’s work

Each au has four version (book style in which it falls into silver eye’s continuity, game style in which it falls into game continuity, movie style in which it falls into movie continuity, and amalgam style in which it combines all three continuity’s into one)

In xanthophobia Cassidy is the villain (William afton die’s extremely soon in the AU and for once in his life never comes back)

So in my most of my AU’s the souls are able to grow old despit not being alive which explains any shipping you might see. Most of it isn’t my doing though

Elizabeth x Nick is only cannon in golden children

Unless its Evan x Cassidy or Mike x Charlie

TF2 is cannon in the golden children au (i mostly just wanted to make fnaf 2 Jeremy TF2 Jeremy)

The golden children au takes place in the late 80s to early 90s with flash forwards towards the pizzaplex era while the shattered souls au takes place in 1991 and the malefactor malfunction shifts the entire time line to start in 2000 GMTC takes place around 1999 to 2018 xanthophobia takes place in in the 2000s and 2010s

In shattered souls Springtrap is much nicer due to him losing his murdeous tendencies after getting spring locked

malefactor malfunction is a Ben 10 fnaf crossover with Cassidy having a version of the omnitrix called kaizotrix

Have some sketches I made the last couple of months since discovering Moral Orel

I did some doodles before this to learn how to draw Orel and this was my first attempt at drawing him in my style. I also drew Christina.

I love Stephanie, so I made a page dedicated to her. The flag is supposed to be the lesbian flag. I decided that I should also draw some of the other adult characters. From left to right: Bloberta, Clay, Reverend Putty, Miss Censordoll, Principal Fakey, and Miss Sculptham. I had a theme with the right page, the adults of Moralton that should be role models for Orel but constantly let him down /lh

Adult Swim canceling this show is my Roman Empire. They really canceled it before the main character could go through his entire arc. I made these design mainly to work on something else, but I'm happy to have made them. I have definitely been inspired by other designs fans have made, but I did try to be original. Also made one for Christina! She's kinda inspired by pastel goth cause I imagine her parents are more strict and wouldn't let her wear traditional goth attire. She's probably already pushing the line.

Finally, some OCs I made. I'm sorry. First two are friends for Christina, I wanted to do something more then make a female Doughy and I had fun making them. The second is an OC I designed for a fic that is currently a wip. Yes, I did have a fun time creating the punny names.

Laika Lyukanida is Christina's childhood best friend. She is a second-generation Russian-American, her grandfather defected the USSR and moved to the US. I wrote that he was KGB, but I'm thinking that him being a spy makes more sense. I thought it would be funny for her to quote her grandfather sometimes and it being obvious that the quote was about his previous work, but neither her or Christina recognize it.

She is more resistant to Christina's chaotic plans, but she always finds herself working on them anyway. She has an interest in science and is often sneaking in the library against her family's wishes. As she grows older, she probably becomes more agnostic but keeps it a secret. Her first name is mainly a reference to the claymation studio, but I imagine in universe she was named after the dog that made it to space. Her last name is a reference to an old stop motion film from Russia.

Komugi Nendo Jingorō is Christina's friend who has a friendly rivalry on who's the better Christian. She is unfortunately very aware of how much her and her family are outcasts due to being Japanese in a mostly white protestant town. Christina and Laika are her closest friends due to them being more accepting of her. Laika understands what it's like for her name to be constantly mispronounced and relates to her. Christina's parents, much like Orel's, are racist and she has to keep their friendship a secret from them.

Her first and middle name is a reference to flour clay. It's a type of clay that children play with, and I thought it would be a cute name for a kid character. Her last name is both a reference to an old Japanese artist known for working with clay, and a reference to a stop motion short film that is about the same guy.

Will Plasticine is a gay florist in Christina's hometown. He grew up there, and when he turned 18, he ran away from his parents to go to college out of state. He met Stephanie there and they immediately became friends due to them being able to relate with growing up closeted in a very religious environment. She made one of her first tattoos on him, a pink triangle on his upper arm. He opened a shop in his hometown once he finished college, but he still has contact with Stephanie and sometimes they visit each other.

His first name isn't a pun or a reference, his last name is a reference to material used for claymation, especially earlier on. I thought it would be funny to make him a florist to Stephanie's tattoo artist, ie the florist and tattoo artist au thing. Obviously it's not romantic, they're just good friend. I imagine he has a story that parallels the episode, "The Blessed Union", where Christina hears a sermon about how wives should treat their husbands and she becomes curious on what husbands should do for their wives and she ends up in his shop.

So This version of Spamton is inspired mainly by my oc and the game Faith the Unholy Trinity... maybe some Moral Orel... I like the idea he became a pastor cause he once cared about his faith but started doing it for his ego... then gained a god complex and everything went downhill from there... I mainly made this though cause I kin him HARD

The other Addisons I plan on keeping somewhat the same... I only think spamton should be different in this au type of idea idk... I'm also working on planning his talking situation.... he would probably randomly quote verses but I'm not too sure yet how to do it...

gosh, there's a lot a lot I can say... but for now, I'll give yall that... but I can tell you now I'm gonna draw a lot of story and art for this idea...

Probably a lot of Angst content... I just think this idea is really cool and I don't see it often with spamton...

just watched the meromorphic video essay (x) on morel orel. disappointed, and here's why:

surface level interpretation overall despite over an hour runtime, bad pacing

got some unspoken but clearly shown plot points wrong (orel did not KILL CHILDREN FOR THEIR BLOOD. it was obviously him getting his friends to drain their own blood into the bath. they were all shaking and holding their wrists over the tub. missing a key detail like that makes me doubt his takles on this media entirely)

heiniously underacknowledged the complexities of alone (ms sculptham wasn't just raped, she was part of her own plot to get creepler i think cause there was a whole thing about her dying her hair, "i just left the door unlocked," and he didn't even mention that she got an abortion with a coathanger. come on)

NITPICKY, ADMITTEDLY: cited a personal reddit post on representation of rape victims in media, which was not enough of an analysis of rape culture or the episode to serve as a source. but its a personal video essay he can get jiggy with it but i disliked it PERSONALLY. the post did make good points about how joking about rape in the previous seasons was greenlit but addressing the effects of that rape on the women got the show cancelled, but that wasn't even mentioned in the essay and it SHOULDVE BEEN

claimed it to be a criticism of "Southern Baptists in the Bible Belt" when it is explicitly portraying MIDWESTERN. american middle class nuclear family WASPs. SPECIFICALLY. the lack of faith, the prioritization of protestant work ethic and money, the structure of the puppington family (especially clay, literally a deconstruction of the glass of scotch pipe belt whupping american father) and like. the entire everything being about MIDWEST WASPs was key to the portrayal of the show. "southern baptists in the bible belt" come the fuck on

acted like it was a reveal that bloberta was racist? they're literally all racist. this is a portrayal of the ideal white supremacist WASP society. monoracial. they push this idea from the jump they are all racist dude to act like season 2 was where it showed up and saying thats the example of the tonal shift is just. naive at best.

used the concept of "whoa they were clay puppets with silly names but the show was serious and dark" as a justification for the vice quote/thesis "moral orel walked so shows like bojack horseman and rick & morty could fly"

which is a stupid way of saying it opened the doors not only for adult animation reaching darker topics but taking those topics seriously (as opposed to stuff like robot chicken) and executing them artistically anyway

but that isnt even a compelling justification, i wish he had gone more into the fact that the show was cancelled BECAUSE of that episode and that there was a followup episode called "Raped" that contributed to that. like if you're going to make your thesis imply the presence of meta-analysis FOLLOW UP ON THAT! not just that you personally drawing the conclusion of "the show is about dark things and everyone is sad" the show is about REAL things the show is about americana!

and bitch i could say more too. 2/5 stars. pedestrian. and so ends my catechism.

“Chicanery”: Statement of Charles McGill Jr. regarding his recent disbarment. (Better Call Saul, Spiral/Web.) ; title refers to the episode of the same name where Chuck gets disbarred and reveals his mental illness (and contempt towards his brother) to the court.

“Don’t Have A Cow, Man”: Statement of Utena Tenjou regarding her old classmate’s choice of jewelry. Brief One- Portrait

Canvas Painting

I wanted to convey a more literal version of my idea of addiction turning somebody into a monster. I had explored more metaphorical imagery of this idea (me clutching onto a wolf who has bitten me) but now I want to protray more realistic imagery of my childhood and teenage expiriences and fears that come from living with a person who is angry and addicted.

I decided to design an anthropromorpic wolf character, prehaps representing a more childlike fear of a big bad wolf. I took inspiration from the wolf design from Wes Andersons "Fantastic mr fox"

I then got to designing the composition of the piece now that I had my wolf design. I wanted the wolf character to feel big and threataning, coming into my bedroom to scare me.

This painting is inspired by an event that happened not too long ago. This person was drunk and angry at me, and waited until there was nobody else in the house to protect me to come into my bedroom to let his anger out. I still remember how scared I felt, and even though I was 18 when this happened I felt as though I was a tiny child in that moment. I remained in my room for several days after that incident, too afraid to come out. He acted like everything was fine once the rest of the family got home, denying he had even said a word to me that day. His true nature hidden from them, but not me.

I added elements such as my dollhouse and x-files poster to make it appear more bedroom like, and my dollhouse is next to my door in real life anyway.

The quote on the door, "Its his true nature coming out" is from an old Adult Swim show called "Moral Orel" in which a young boy asks his mom why hus father changes when he drinks, to which she replies "Oh Orel he dosent change, thats just his true nature coming out". I think about that scene a lot.

Moral Orel #30: “Nature - Part 2” | July 16, 2007 - 12:15AM | S02E20

Hey everyone it’s part 2! Of… Oh yeah, I forgot, this one’s pretty bleak. Sorry. I’ll change my tone.

Charles Darwin once quoted his own father:

To my deep mortification my father once said to me, "You care for nothing but shooting, dogs, and rat-catching, and you will be a disgrace to yourself and all your family.

I honestly don’t know what this has to do with the episode I watched. I just typed “Chrarles Darwin quotes” and “father” into google and that was the first thing that came up. It sorta has to do with the episode on some shallow level, but not enough for me to really build a thesis statement. If anything, I just made the intro to this write-up much worse. To be honest, I don’t like having to give emotional weight to things that already have plenty of it. Did I ever once dedicate a post to 9/11 on this blog? Wait, I did? Oh. Well, that was anti-humor or some other really smart thing. Deal with it! Deal with ME!

This is the continuation of “Nature”, which technically is called that and not “Nature - Part 1”. If you recall, that episode ended with a gunshot. It’s heavily implied that Orel shot his father. After the opening sequence we see what happened: Orel merely shot Clay’s last two bottles of booze. Clay reacts poorly to this. He picks up his rifle and points it at Orel; seemingly with an intent to shoot? And then he shoots Orel. In the leg.

The intent is murky, and sorta up for debate. How deliberate was this action? I don’t know, and I don’t know if anyone does. By this I mean I read one thread on reddit where somebody asks this, and nobody linked to an interview with Dino saying whether Clay intentionally shot his son or not. It sorta seems like he did. Less murky is Clay’s reaction; hypocritically acting concerned that his son had been shot (intentionally downplaying the fact that he himself did it). Orel tells Clay that he, against Clay’s wishes, brought some disinfectant so Clay can clean the wound. Clay finds the rubbing alcohol and chugs it instead of using it to treat Orel’s wound. Orel looks Clay in the eyes and tells him: “I hate you.”

At this point, Clay passes out. A bear shows up at the campsite and looks like he’s about to maul Clay. Orel shoots the bear dead. Clay stays passed out through morning, and doesn’t wake up until the next evening. Clay denies responsibility for shooting Orel, because he doesn’t remember it. When he sees the dead bear on the ground, he momentarily gets excited that Orel may have actually shot something. When he asks Orel for details, Orel denies it, saying Clay shot the bear while he was blackout drunk. Goddamn, dude. I’m crying like Kevin Smith at a Marvel movie over here.

The next scene is Clay and Orel having come from Dr. Potterswheel’s. Orel is in bed recovering from the traumatic ordeal. Bloberta brings him a plate of fatty foods, and Orel asks her why she married Clay. “Why not?” she answers. Season three focuses on this moment, where we explore their relationship a little more. Orel remarks that when Clay drinks he changes. She says that he doesn’t change; that it’s just his true nature coming out. Credits roll one-by-one over a shot of Orel in his bedroom; the camera is outside peering in through the window. We hear nothing but animal noises, and we see some crawling around. These noises and sights are usually tastefully absent from the suburban life Moralton enjoys. There’s also a blue crane in the tree, sorta watching over Orel. It either represents Orel’s innocence, or his faith, or whatever. It depends on who you ask. The episode is dedicated to John Cassevettes.

Man, this is a powerful episode. Together, Natures Part 1 & 2 are a masterpiece. Season three would follow in a similar vein; how could it not? I mean, the show’s downfall was basically this episode and this turn; Adult Swim felt like they were no longer getting the show that they’d purchased. So they killed it, essentially. Would things have been different if Dino agreed to produce episodes of the show that explicitly took place before the hunting trip? Some of the episodes of season three do, in fact, take place before the hunting trip. Should he have pulled a Sledge Hammer! season two? We’re doing a Sledge Hammer! season two, Morty. The world didn’t end and we’re shooting on 16mm film Morty. When will you finally turn 18 Morty??

okay so I’m gonna torture myself by watching some garbage religious “horror” movie and liveblogging it for @falcon-fox-and-coyote

It’s called The Reconciler and it’s supposed to be the fundie version of Saw, in which God kidnaps people and makes them work out their relationship issues

and I know they’re not going to have the guts to do this Job-style so it’s going to be very boring and pointless

a better religious version of Saw would be someone twisting their faith to justify atrocious murders as an act of God’s will, but that movie already exists and it’s called Seven, it’s very good if you can stomach Rapist Kevin Spacey and Abuser Brad Pitt

anyway before I start this film I’d like to give this quote from Moral Orel, which I’m sure will be more existentially terrifying than anything in this film:

Orel: But He’s God, Reverend! Isn’t everything He does good?

Reverend Putty: No! Not by a long shot. Everything He does is right, but that’s very different.

On automation- thoughts

(Okay this is not Moral Orel related (sorry) BUT it is art related, kinda, and I'm sorry if it seems messy).

I have been thinking about the core problems with increasing automation and the advent of ai/machine learning 'creations' (as in ai generated so-called 'art') that lead back to the problems with capitalism and the way our society functions, dysfunctionally.

If you've read anything from the anarchist library (anarchistlibrary.org), you may have read "Abolish Restaurants" which is a great essay detailing the history of restaurants and why its form and methodology are flawed at the core.

Anyway there is a passage on automation in this essay that I think is relevant to the discourse around AI and the replacement of creative human output with fed computer generation and the like. It's not exactly the same but I think it should be brought up as a point. "Machines are not used to make our jobs easier. They are used as a way to increase the amount of product a particular worker can pump out in a given amount of time... machines replace human tasks. They become just another link the chain of tasks. We don't have less work to do. We just have to do a smaller range of tasks, more often" (Abolish Restaurants). The described chain of command here highlights the problem with the restaurant model and automation. Particularly the bolded phrases indicate the similar issues with machine domination as in AI generation in lieu of human expression. The issue with all of this is nothing fundementally changes for society. Technology as a concept is neither progressive nor regressive, but the way it's formed, how it is used and who uses it for what means, is. In his essay, "Forcing Marx into the Automation Debate", Eric Fleischmann relates MIT professor Norbert Weiner's words about automation from his book The Human Use of Human Beings. Weiner wrote “that such machines, though helpless by themselves, may be used by a human being or a block of human beings to increase their control over the rest of the human race” (Fleischmann).

What does this have to do with the use of ai? Well, the way machine learning and automation in general has been utilised on a large scale does not do anything radical for society or especially for reduction of people's labour. This disparity is despite the way this particular field of technology might be framed as being 'new' and 'exciting' and even 'revolutionary', as 'game changers'. I am absolutely not saying that every use of machine learning/ automation is the same because they are not- that would be a mischaracterisation. BUT in relation to the discourse over the many problems with popular ai content generation, and with means of automation in the workplace, there is much space to critique and re-imagine.

At the core, the way automation is implemented only enforces a hierarchy/chain of command in which the few have power over the many. And it all comes back to prioritisation of capital procurement over considerations for people. That goal is at heavy odds with progress and getting out of this static hell in which we are marching through late-stage capitalism.

In their essay "When the Robots Fire Us", the Federation of Anarchists in Bulgaria wrote, "Technological progress gives us opportunities to work less and less, and to create more. Instead of this, however, the need to sell ourselves on the “labor market” threatens to ruin us. The only decision is to remove this market, the removal of ownership over our natural resources, technologies and robots, distribution of resources based on the needs of the people. We are valuable because we are people, not because we work. Only then will we be secure in our futures. We will surpass the monotony of work, the repetitiveness of every day, and the shorter days with more creativity".

I wanted to include this quote because it speaks to a future without the labour market and essentially without prioritisation of capital, wherein the means of production- that is, how goods are produced, and who does the work- must change from the current form(s) to realize a radical potential that benefits everyone. In this imaginary we can create without the oppressive and regressive capitalist systems looming overhead.

TL;DR: Automation and AI machine learning pretend to be radical when they aren't and only serve the status quo
